I’ve been a premium member for years, and I’m very let down by this app. They post a video forecast twice weekly. The audio will not work on any IOS device I have. I need to either send it to my Apple TV or some sort of external speaker to hear the video. This is true not only for my iPad, but my iPhone. Now there’s content on their app that will play through the IOS internal speakers. But why they don’t fix this bug for the video forecast, I have no idea. I’ve also opened problem reports on their system, and they don’t respond. They want your money, but they don’t seem to want to fix the bugs on their software. This is bad business in my opinion! I will remove this poor review when they simply fix their tech issues. If you add up all the subscriptions they receive, I’m sure they get enough capital to fix a small bug like this! **************** Update 9/6/18 **************** I received a response from David, and he has asked me to ‘turn the sound on.’ I’m not sure why he states it that way. Apple has a feature where you can turn your ringer off, and still hear video content, etc. On the Surfline App, there is plenty of video content that works while the ringer is set to silent. Also, other IOS apps play video sound as well when the ringer is turned off. Surfline’s take on this is that we’ve turned our volume off. That’s not the case. The ringer is set to silent as a user option for those who don’t want to disturb others with a ringer. However, they don’t seem to want to fix this issue, and even if you’re headphones are plugged in, the sound wont work. Come on guys, let’s fix this like the rest of the video content on the site!

A Must!

Any surfer should know Surfline is the most reliable surf website. It’s even better on the app! 10 stars!

Ads are painful and ruin the app

30secs between ads? You barely get to see a glimpse of the camera view before the next ad comes on. The ads are loud and invasive, they repeat the same ad over and over, the ones I saw were > 10 secs long, and you can’t mute them. If you just want stats on surfing it’s a fine app, but if you wanted to see what the surf looks like thru the cameras, be prepared to pay a not insignificant monthly fee.

The true surfer mentality is to go no matter what but go where is what surfline helps. When I'm at my desk I can watch the jobless groms sherd until I get off work and run out to the southern California chop I know it's choppy cause surf line tells me so. Sunset and pch? Nope tides too high. Thanks surf line. Also I paid for the surfline premium it's worth it. So I can watch the venice cam and think nope it's still a beach break. Woah trestles.. Too far but I know it's good because of surfline. County lines the only place getting surf. Drive an hour and a half thanks to surf line and get there for it to be just as packed as first point. Surf line is cool, but it'll say it's poor out and I'll have the best day of my surf life. So don't always trust it. Trust your gut go to Topanga during low tide. Destroy your board and quit surfing. Forever. Also the hurricane updates and swell reports are tight. Something to get hyped about and tell your wife a week or so in advanced so she doesn't complain that you surf too much

Free version is garbage

This app is generally inaccurate and none of the features are available unless you pay. The subscription is not affordable. Deleted this and use Magic Seaweed

This is great for checking conditions before surfing. Never surf with checking Surfline first.

Too efficient. Don't get this app if you live near me.

The surf is already so crowded and this app is just too good at predicting and then showing you every nook and cranny of every coast in real time. It just makes finding surf too easy. Don't buy this app. I'd like some uncrowned waves for myself.

Purchased premium but then it says “can not activate premium, see iTunes account.” I go to iTunes account and the subscription is there. So, now I am charged a subscription fee for nothing until someone decides to get back to me
