A320Freak's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 9/3/18 5:51 PM
I bought this app long ago, back before the 2013 Moore EF-5. It has served me so well since then. And new features keep getting added, making this app basically a portable AWIPS workstation, minus WarnGen. There’s one thing that I’d love to see added, though, and that’s the ability to set our own storm motion vectors and have velocity products calibrated to that. For people who use RadarScope for chasing, that would make it so much easier. Other than that, this app does wonders for storm chasers who are looking for quick and easy access to site specific radar products. Oh, and the app will snap to the closest radar if you enable location. Even without custom SRV, this app gets five stars for its simplicity to use and the tools that can be had with the subscriptions.

Excellent. Only tiny gripe is that the map is too simplistic. Would love an option to increase detail on the map.

I would really like to see watch boxes, a composite view of the U. S. And the ability to to toggle the information to make it 5 stars for $100

The accuracy is amazing. The refresh rate is much better than any other app. Even just going to the beach you can tell down to a few feet if you are going to get rained on or not. Saved the day today!

It would be awesome to display the data from the nearest radar in CarPlay. Great for solo storm chasers and people that want to avoid a storm along their route. Now you can!
Breakbeatman1234589's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 9/14/18 9:40 PM
Five stars is not enough! RadarScope is not only my absolute favorite weather-related app but is solidly one of my top-five overall favorite apps of all time—one of those rare “It’s so good it’s worth buying an iPad just to use it” apps. I found out about RadarScope from watching livestreams of professional storm chasers using it. I figured if it’s good enough for the folks who rely on it to navigate life-or-death situations where small errors could have catastrophic consequences, then it must be one amazing app. Boy, was I right. Yes, this one has a steep learning curve if you’re an untrained, amateur meteorology enthusiast such as myself (I assume if you had a a solid meteorology background, this app would be a piece of cake to use). However, it’s totally worth the investment if you’re looking to step up your weather game. To get full use of it as a non-professional make sure you throughly read the “Radar Products” section in the user guide (and perhaps even outside sources to flesh out the details) to make sure you understand what your looking at (and in that sense, this app also is hands-down the best meteorology education tool on the market). The warnings from the other raters bear repeating here: if you don’t have the knowledge to get the most out of this and aren’t willing to take the time to learn, or if you’re just looking for a basic weather summary to know whether to take a jacket or if your tee time will get rained out, or even if you’re just looking for a basic weather radar, then this app is most definitely NOT the app for you. Also, note that data is provided mainly for the United States.
Asue61's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/8/18 4:01 PM
Beware with your annual renewal of the removal of features from basic package, i.e. LIGHTNING.... I have used RadarScope for several years, but this is a bit ridiculous to move up a Tier for that feature only.
Ole Blue Express (Mark)'s Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/31/18 1:57 AM
First saw this app being used on a Birmingham Alabama TV station during the super outbreak of tornadoes a few years ago. I was hooked and purchased it the same day. Each update is pure thought and usefulness. RS is my first go to app in the event of any weather event. The ability to control the radar's tilt and product is spectacular. 100% recommend well worth the money!
NateDawg1123's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/31/18 1:50 AM
This is the de facto standard app for radar and storm tracking data. Ask any storm chaser. Yes it costs money, but is so worth the cost for the features you get. I subscribe to the Level 2 data and it is perfect for my needs. High resolution reflectivity and lightning data is great to have. Refresh rates are nice and disable auto lock is handy when a huge storm is passing over. Forget the haters, probably people that don’t really understand what they are getting. This app is the real deal! 👍🏻
BobToby13's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/30/18 9:35 PM
Initially had an issue after upgrading to version 3.8.3 - the app would not open. However, restarting my iPad resolved the problem and the app seems ok again. Easily the best radar of any weather app and I have tried many. I also appreciate the lightning data of my Tier 1 subscription - well worth the additional price.

iMacGuy101's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/29/18 2:22 AM
This is the question I get asked at any party, family event, or any other occasion when rain is forecasted or just for the fun of it. When ever someone looks at the weather they go directly to the weather channel (lame). I’ve been using radar scope since the beginning of its time and have compared it to many weather apps which do not even come close to the raw data you see. *Note: These negative reviews this app is getting are false. Knowing you have to choose different radars means your getting accuracy within 150-300 miles. No other app offers this level of pin point accuracy/untouched radar. Now back to my experience: Just a week ago in (Chicago) we’ve hand many big and small storms run through. Big storms are great to see and watch on the app but let me tell you about the small storms. I was just getting ready to leave work and it starts pouring rain. I opened the weather channel app (I know a sin, but it’s a simple swipe up) It said “partly cloudy” of all things. Yes I did update to the current time. Then I opened RadarScope and with beautiful raw data, there was a small cell about 5 miles round/wide measured ‘using the included distance tool’ 👍🏻👌🏻 best feature ever!! There is no other radar app I would ever ask for. I’m by far not a professional I’ve been intrigued with weather watching and to k*** some time. I would beware that you may be asked more often about the weather once people know you have the best app anyone can get. Enjoy this app!
maverick279's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
Excellent app but it has to improve on the map, have options on the color since it is always black.🤦♂️ You could have a white one as an option and use a more detailed map like the google ones. I hope you can help with my suggestion. Thanks!!!

I really, really like this app. Great for severe weather. However, this is not for someone who is looking for an average radar app. If you don’t know what base velocity is, you probably shouldn’t get this app. Definite 5 stars.
Benyyboyy's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
Not worth it if just buying the app. They’re more annual and monthly subscriptions in the app that has access to more features. If I could get my money back for returning an app I would.
Cirquerider's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
I purchased this app in 2009 had it has been my go-to for critical weather information on the motorcycle and boat. When you’re exposed to the elements you need to know precise information of whether to go through the storm or seek shelter. radarscope has never failed to give me the information I need to evaluate my risks, and the speed direction, intensity and hail of a system. No other program I am aware of gives this real-time detail. This is not the national weather or what will happen tomorrow, but if you need precise location, speed, intensity and direction right now, RadarScope delivers.
Gimpelson96's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
I have been a weather enthusiast since I was almost in a tornado when I was 7. This app is a fantastic tool to get professional grade radar and wind data. I live on the KC area and just today we had a massive tornado come through the area and Radar Scope displayed accurate, up to date information on rotation. This app is absolutely worth $10 if it can show you EXACTLY where the rotation of a tornado is. the radar is extremely accurate as well compared to any other radar app I have tried. Fantastic app.
CS Guy's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
First there are clearly too many radar apps on the App Store that are really more about weather conditions and forecasts. And there are far too many similarities between them, with only one or two that are reasonable. And, THIS IS NOT ONE ON THEM! I you want an app that can delve into NexRad Level 2 and Level 3 radar feeds, including velocities and other important images needed for those who pay attention to storms and early indicators of severity and rotation, THIS IS YOUR RADAR APP!! Look no further! I hesitated for a while now because of the $10 price tag. But, fearing lately with some recent tornado watches and warnings near my home, I made the purchase. My only regret is not getting this sooner. It is that good. But, understand - this is a bit more advanced than your typical weather app. This app focuses on doing one thing - presenting you with comprehensive access to the latest NOAA radar images in hi-res. It’s not a simple weather forecasting app. Plenty of options exist if that’s all you want. The negative reviews are mostly because of people not understanding what they are getting. This is really good. Oh, and it has seamless integration with my Apple Watch, my Apple TV and my iPad. I’ve tested it out on all those, and it worked great. Just keep in mind that you need to set your favorite locations on your iPhone or iPad. Excellent app! Thank you! I may even pay for the service to get lightning and other extras, but the base app is quite good by itself.
ChrisW2364's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
First off, the people who are giving 1 stars probably don’t have a clue what they are looking at, the issues most people have on here are not radarscope’s fault, if your not even remotely into weather it can prove more difficult to interpret. That’s not radarscopes fault it’s the fault of the user. Radars are tools used by professionals, amateurs and ordinary people, the radar doesn’t lie on what it sees. If a radar isn’t updating it’s possible the NWS location (which is where the ap gets the data from) has issues, that’s not the apps fault. Sure the ap isn’t perfect but it’s hands down, it’s the best radar available on a phone or iPad. No other can even scratch the surface of what radarscope provides. For weather nerds is worth every dime. Easily able to add other data to get even more out of the radar.
HottieYanni's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
This app is by far THE BEST weather app if you know how to read radar imagery! I seriously open this app (watch, iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro) whenever I have any questions about the weather. It’s saved me more times than I can count, and was an EXCELLENT resource during Hurricane Irma! Love you guys!
clintcash35's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
This app is awesome and helps me track storms. It is a meteorologist app, a app you don’t need expensive tools for and the most accurate and present radar I have ever used!
Wonder girl1's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
I absolutely love this app. It takes some time and study to get proficient at recognizing different aspects of storms but after all the weather is a complicated thing. Read the radarscope blogs and NWS articles on doppler radar, doesn't take long and you will be amazed how well you can detect everything just like you see on the weather channel radar images. It is well worth the effort to learn how to interpret the radar images, just work at it a little and you will love it and realize what a great app this is, especially if you live in a storm prone area or just interested in the weather.
shadowbandit91(youtube)'s Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/28/19 1:37 PM
Like I stated in the caption this app is meant for more like professional and experienced storm spotters and storm chasers that know how to read it now with that being said I don’t know how to use this particular radar 100% I bought it because I liked a lot of the features I like how it has a measuring tool for how far away you are from the storm it’s got a future track to show where it’s going it breaks down the storm it’s very quick on giving you the latest radar image I do believe it’s every two or three minutes There’s a lot of different radar layers You can check and look at like the wind speed velocity and you can check the moisture And it shows how much moisture is putting out you can look at different tils Or however you spell that and If you have poor data you can Change it to make it a little more pixelated but does it use much data to give you the current readings I like the fact that you can have a Cone that shows what direction you’re facing and what direction you’re heading I do enjoy it I’ve always wanted to be into weather and just watch the storms But I have a lot to learn So if you’re willing to give it a try and you’re not scared to spend $9 To try it out and once you pay for it it’s paid for so you want to buy that again but there are pro versions one and two that are pretty much like subscriptions annual monthly gives a lot more to work with and do You can see and do a lot more See you were the storm chasers and spotters are A bunch of extra stuff that’s definitely helpful I am just using the app itself after paying nine dollars so like I said I like it I just got a used to it and understand it THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO SEE I would REALLY LIKE to see a option to get notifications Via Phone when there’s severe weather or a slight or moderate or Enhanced RISK for the next day or today or thunderstorm warnings lightning strike tornado warnings They have that in the app and it shows you every warning they have out in the United States pretty much but I can’t seem to get notifications for my favorite locations that I have saved or if I have location on if I’m near that area it should automatically say hey there’s bad weather in your area Without me having to open the app and like check it and I understand this might be because of the professional status of this so you’re constantly looking at radar but it would be something nice to see if this is an option I have not found it But you do get notifications on the app itself of every single weather related warning and watch and everything in between it’s almost like a silent notification you just don’t get on your notifications screen on your phone And I guess the only thing I can think of And again this is probably just me not knowing what the hell I’m doing but I having a little bit I was smoother radar imagery it’s a little pixelated which kind of bothers me because I’m so used to the other apps that have HD or smooth radars Options or layers and again this is a professional raw radar I would just like to see A option to have a smoother for the non-pro user just buying the app itself I will update this if I find and understand some things a little better but this is definitely an app that I would use if I was getting into Meteorology and I was going to school for it I would totally use this and I’m sure once I get used to using it I’ll be able to understand it a little bit more but like I said it’s worth it definitely Very Good tool to have

This app is absolutely amazing for tracking storms! I love the option where users can submit weather reports. However, the option to report rain is absolutely ridiculous. We do not need to know if a severe storm has rain. It clutters the radar

Since the “upgrade” yesterday (7/30/18)I have been experiencing map scrolling “jerkiness” and the inability to choose Doppler sites. This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced issues with buggy code with this ap. I wish they’d just leave it alone when the developers get it running well. Update: the above issues were resolved the following day and the ap works as expected. I still believe however that a bit more beta testing before release of updates would be helpful. Otherwise, it’s been a very good ap.

scottkle's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 8/11/18 1:14 PM
This is by all intents and purposes a 5-Star app, but like the famous fancy restaurant that has to get it right every time, RadarScope suffers from a few serious flaws in service. And as someone who pays a lot for the tier 2 package I’d like to think that I have a pretty good handle on things. The fact that there are no actual push alerts for severe thunderstorms is weird. The company told me in a tweet something about something or other but it just didn’t excuse the fact that such a good app for severe weather only gets to 3rd base instead of hitting it out of the park. Also missing are street-level views, or, even just a view that’s more than a blurry long shot. I have to use another radar app to see where precip is and that’s not acceptable at $99 a year. And I get that AllisonHouse is an integration and you’ve started to add some of that functionality to tier 2, but I need to be able to get severe thunderstorm watches AND warnings in tier 2 without exception or excuse. It’s ridiculous to not offer both. With an added AllisonHouse subscription for another $129 a year I get watches and mesoscale discussions. Add watches to tier 2 and leave off the MDs if that helps? I mean I want both but for me to have to pay you $99 and AllisonHouse $129 just to have access to watches and warnings, that’s ridiculous. Again, it’s a favorite app. It’s on my first screen. It’s on my Apple Watch, and even though it’s a much-needed watch native app, it really misses out on being able to do the best stuff because there are no alerts or warnings in severe weather. The fact that you are ok with us using other apps for that shows you aren’t quite understanding how we all use apps. And I also heard in that tweet about how the weather radio app has alerts. As I said to them in a reply to that message, that app is terrible and not even worth wasting words on. And again, no separate apps for basic functionality. For $99 a year I want a really cohesive and excellent severe weather and radar experience. Personally, I might recommend forgoing tier 2 and the $99 and spending $129 on AllisonHouse. You can sign in to them through RadarScope so you still get all the bells and whistles, and you get the data for watches and warnings. But I don’t think you’d get any alerts still. Well, either way, there’s room to make a great app better. Thanks.

I think it’s an insult to the users that you charge for this info. Outlooks are provided to you for free as well. I am not comparing this to the basic radar apps. Most professional storm chaser apps provide this data at no additional cost.

I have to laugh when I read a negative review comparing RadarScope to Weather Channel or any TV or national app. If you understand anything at all about radar products beyond “green is good, red is bad”, this app is for you. If you understand SR velocity, this app is for you. My 15yo daughter loves this app as well, tracking significant storms around the country and asking me about the precipitation and velocity products, comparing what we see with media reports in the aftermath. It’s amazing to her how we can predict how bad the damage is from what we see on radar. Ever since her grandmother was killed in a tornado a few years ago, while we watched the radar signature from miles away, she’s been a disciple. Thank you again WDT for the best weather app available. It’s well worth the investment.

RadarScope is an absolutely amazing weather radar app. The SuperRes Reflectivity view gives amazing detail. Location Services make it easy to pinpoint exactly where you are so you can use the radar animation to determine what is coming your way in the next hour or the next few minutes. Storm tracks and the distance tool help you figure out the timing. There are over 25 different radar views showing wind velocity, precipitation, and more. I look forward to learning how to interpret these advance radar views. There has been much consternation about the new Pro subscription. The introduction of this never took away the 6 frame SuperRes Reflectivity view. It just offers the option add 14 more frames to the view and gives real time lightning reporting. I went for it, but you have an amazing tool without it. This app is worth every penny.

People are always giving 1 star for this app because it doesn't have a "national map" of all the storms, thats because IT ISN'T SUPPOSE TO. This isn't an app like NOAA High def radar PRO or anything like that. This is for meteorologist and the likes who want access to everything that specific radar provides such as Velocity data, Correlation Coefficient, etc. do not buy this app until you understand what it is, this is not for your every day novice.

Mr. Luigi's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 7/18/18 3:20 PM
Real radar for those who need high quality radar maps. My absolute favorite weather app and totally worth the cost. One request...the map overlay (roads, etc.) is too sparse. The weather situation can be quite different just a couple miles away (severe thunderstorm, snow-rain line, etc.). But, the nearest displayed road on the map is many miles away making it real hard to pinpoint where "the weather is." It would be AWESOME if the developers would add functionality such that as you zoom in on the map the level of detail of roads increases.

Chladnyevan's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 7/14/18 12:55 PM
THIS APP IS A MUST FOR ANY WEATHER LOVER! I absolutely love this app!! It is by far the most accurate, reliable, and detailed radar you can get on the App Store. And trust me when I say I’ve tried every other radar app, and not a single one of them even comes close to RadarScope. You have amazing features no one else on the App Store has: EXTREMELY detailed radar (They show exactly where the rain is, not some weird undefined blob that updates every 10 minutes (cough cough Weather Channel)), also depending on if there’s heavy precipitation in the area the radar could update every minute (it’s at the discretion of the NWS office who controls the radar), detailed maps of hail size, many different options besides a basic radar, and if you have a subscription you can look at any radar up to 30 DAYS AGO! In the end, I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful of an app this is, but if you’re a storm chaser or weather geek looking for a solid radar app, this is absolutely the one!
Mikewaz's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 7/12/18 4:15 AM
I love this app as it gives great radar info better than any other weather app. One thing I would like is when you do the split screen I wish you had the option to show two different radar locations to get a better view of the storm. Other than that it is great
Switz1157's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 6/9/18 11:55 PM
I was a longtime user Weather Underground’s Storm app. After it was taken over by the Weather Channel it became just another useless radar. I searched trough all the free apps to find a similar replacement and could not. It was then that I took the plunge into paying for Radar Scope. Once I used it, I knew that I was home. This app is by far superior to any other weather radar app available on iOS! For a reasonable annual upgrade fee it gets even better. High res reflectivity, velocity and so much more is available in virtual real time
GypsyRuff's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 6/5/18 3:36 AM

TylerStorm's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 6/3/18 3:33 AM
Could you add different two different satellite maps? The two maps being the surface satellite map that you would see on an application like Google maps, and the satellite radar that shows you the clouds? The satellite radar could really help out sometimes with chasers, I imagine.
G_ChipT's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 6/25/18 2:59 AM
The app seems to be feature rich but my problem is the “User Guide”. It is hardly a guide. For example there are a series of icons across the bottom, one of which is allows you to identify where you currently are on the map. Well if you hit this a second time a small angular wedge appears and it slowly rotates around. There is nothing that I can find that tells us what this feature is doing for us. I can find nothing that describes the other icons on the base of the display. The other support detail is thin too. Sorry to say I need a bit more before I can pay for a Pro account much less the highest level Pro account.
LibertyMedic's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 6/24/18 9:12 PM
This is my go to radar for almost 5 years. Used in storm chasing, and all the tools were well worth the cost to keep us near enough to see action but far enough away from danger. This radar does not have a national screen, that's not how Doppler works. If you want the basics, use something else. If you want to see how a storm is rotating or where the updraft and downdraft is located in a supercell, this is your app.

I like this app. I highly recommend this app.
jjcaru's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 6/16/18 11:44 AM
This app puts professional-grade radar in the palm of your hand. It is high-resolution, updates rapidly, and has a user-friendly interface. All storm chasers (and I am one myself) use this app, which should tell you all you need to know about its quality. You do need some knowledge to know how to read some of the radar images outside of the common base-reflectivity. The critics are either people that seem to think apps should be free, or are not meteorologists, storm chasers, or weather enthusiasts. To the first group of critics I say, you get what you pay for. To the second group I say, maybe this app is overkill for what you need or want - but that’s not a reason to criticize the app itself. It is simply the best radar app I am aware of, and again as a storm chaser for 20+ years, I would know. Now it is true that there is no national/regional radar view - this is because the ability to access individual NEXRAD sites is what provides the detailed resolution, rapid updates/speed, and individual radar analysis products. You can always get another app, including free ones, to see the big picture, and that might be enough for some people, but those apps are simply not going to give you the detailed resolution, or the products needed for in-depth analysis at a local storm level, that RadarScope does. Similarly, displaying a more detailed road map in the background would compromise speed and resolution, and seeing the map detail would require a more translucent radar image that would degrade its usefulness. People that criticize this app are simply ignorant, because those who know weather choose this app hands-down.

After experiencing this app on my brother's phone, i finally purchased this app, and it doesn't disappoint! This app gives you the radar straight out of the stations, with velocity and other awesome features! If you need all the nitty-gritty details, this app is perfect!
Chip is DOPE FRESH!'s Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 5/4/18 8:19 PM
I am not happy that I paid for an app that doesn’t work many of the times I’ve tried to use it. It also annoys me that lightning info is not available to people who buy the app. Why would I pay more to get that info when I can’t consistently use what I have already paid for??
Jaredmherman's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 5/3/18 2:15 PM
People are always giving 1 star for this app because it doesn't have a "national map" of all the storms, thats because IT ISNT SUPPOSE TO. This isn't an app like NOAA High def radar PRO or anything like that. This is for meteorologist and the likes who want access to everything that specific radar provides such as Velocity data, Correlation Coefficient, etc. do not buy this app until you understand what it is, this is not for your every day novice.
Capt Charming's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 5/28/18 1:33 PM
I have used RadarScope as my truest form of current local, regional and national weather information. None of the glam or drama that comes from weather “experts”. Just pure data as well as NOAA weather alerts. Lately it has failed to load. I hope this is temporary.

Thank you for bringing pro-level tools to iOS. Can’t complain about the price either– very reasonable.
Some sound guy's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 5/23/18 5:05 PM
Thank you for providing an app that does what it says, and says what it does. I purchased this years ago with my first ‘smart’ phone and have never needed another source for accurate radar coverage. This is not an app for someone who is looking for consumer grade, pretty information. This app serves up reality. Other weather apps have come and gone. One in particular started strong and through the many versions, turned useless. You have just kept consistently improving. In the summer, part of my job is making sure attendees at concerts and other events stay safe. You help make that possible.

Tommy Hartigan's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 5/2/18 9:06 PM
I’ve used this app for everything from when I decide to go flying, to driving and boating on Lake Michigan. Super detailed and worth every penny. Like many others have said, this is for people with an understanding of weather and radar. IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND A SUPER-RES VELOCITY DISPLAY THEN THIS APP IS TOO ADVANCED FOR YOU.
Sameiam's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 5/2/18 1:42 AM
So worth the cost. I bought this app several years ago and I love it. We live in tornado alley and every time it storms it’s my go to app!

M1i9c75's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 5/15/18 5:52 PM
One review stated “this app is for professionals” yet it proclaims to be an effective tool for even the novice weather enthusiast. But that’s not my complaint so I digress.... my issue is I just bought this app an hour or so ago and have been looking at the app while watching the weather channel and the storms/tornado warnings in PA. The app is giving utterly and completely different information than the weather channel. The app has the tornado box/warning, several hundred miles north of what the weather channel is reporting. There are also warnings in several other places in the north east as per the tv, yet they’re absent from the app. I guess for “professionals” it’s groovy to stare at a screen with a bunch of colors, a few yellow and red boxes that are seemingly hundreds of miles away from what the actual professionals (meteorologists) are displaying... but I guess, what do they know anyway?
AbeBush's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 4/26/18 5:51 PM
Wonderful app, I’ve had it for years and nothing compares; especially when using data feeds. One request is to add various and customizable color palettes, at least for reflectivity products. I like the color scales for other radars better and would like to be able to customize them on radarscope.
aPpTrAmP's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 4/23/18 7:18 PM
Probably the fastest loading radar for me on phone. Apple Watch always says problem loading/location upon app startup; I just need to tap the back arrow once and it’s fine.. An easy 5 star rating.

As a meteorologist and storm chaser, I rely on high quality data so I can closely track storms. Radarscope provides everything I need. It has a smooth, flawless interface that let me quickly grab whatever I am looking for. Other apps are slow and don’t have a complete suite of radar products, but this one has it all. Well worth the price!

I use this app to monitor weather as it develops in my area for public safety. This app is for power users who have deep understanding of radar technology and weather. hstnnn's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 3/25/18 7:16 PM
The other reviewers are right-- this is the best radar and well worth the cost. I had purchased several others and put off this one because of the price. The other apps disappointed-- they have been inaccurate or slow to update. This one is precise and quick--so far is has never been more than a minute or two before it updates and most often it is up to the moment. And the accuracy has been brilliant. It has many features that I have not yet used, but i hope to learn them soon. I'm a weather novice, but I definitely want to know where the storms are, where they're going, and how much rain we'll get. This is the best radar by far! Update: the developer keeps refining an already brilliant application. This is THE radar application, far superior to any other out there. Absolutely one of the best purchases I've ever made for my iOS devices—beautiful on the iPad, crucial app on the phone, and a very informative glance at the radar on the watch. I bought the upgraded pro version and like the additional features: longer loops and lightening info. As with the basic version of this app, the cost is there but well worth it: this radar and all the features are the some of the best things on my phone. One of the top apps of any kind and one I will subscribe to without hesitation every year.

KC1974's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 2/7/18 6:12 PM
Paid for this 8 years ago on both iOS (phone) and Android (tablet). We got some pro features - lighting (now tier 1) and 20 frames (now it’s 6), then they decided to forget us and went with an annual subscription instead. What did us early adopters get? Shafted. I rarely use this now unless it’s to analyze specific storms. The weather underground storm app picks up the rest - including “free” lightning, and now even has individual radar base reflectivity and velocity products with the ability to change tilt elevation.. not as detailed as this, but it does in one package what I used to use radarscope and the weather channel app for.
~bc's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 2/6/18 11:04 PM
Update: still great after a couple years’ usage. Still highly recommended. There’s a reason you see pros posting screenshots from this app on Twitter. Earlier review… I'll lead with the criticism. The UI could use a layer of polish. I don't need flashiness—and most weather apps go for gaudy, so be thankful—just a little more commitment to feeling a touch more native. OK—best thing: data is sent direct to your phone for rendering locally on your device, and there's no map imagery, just outlines of counties, major roads and cities on black. What this means is you get the info really quickly after the radar site makes the data available. Other apps render that data on their servers end and send you images, which take up more data (and that's slower on low bandwidth connections). I can't independently confirm any of this, but they claim it on their web site and in my brief tests last night seem to confirm. Lastly if you're a pro unlike me, you're going to love all the radar "products" available. As an amateur, I clearly need to read up to learn what all of this is telling me. But I’ve learned a bit, and the “Precipitation Depiction” mode is awesome. I pay the yearly fee (low-level) and continue to feel it offers good value.

Best app out there. I’ve been using this app for years, and it is my go-to weather app. As a coach of young boys’ baseball, and a technician who travels a three-hour radius of home, knowing what the weather is doing around me is vital. Great app. Great customer support.

Purchased this App to get enhanced resolution of approaching storm (I have a NOAA App). The App has NOT functioned for the three days I have had it. I merely get a notice that radar data is temporarily unavailable. Obviously, it was useless for this storm and I am having doubts about its future reliability. At this moment I cannot recommendation anyone purchase this product.
beanfam5's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 2/25/18 12:55 PM

elkriver50's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 2/12/18 4:13 PM
I've used the iPhone/iPad app for years and it remains my goto app for accurate storm tracking. But the implementation on the Apple Watch is very hit or miss. It frequently can't connect to the server, tries and fails to get data, and simply doesn't work. Especially useless if not near my phone. Strange and unintuitive interface also.
Hydropower0229's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 12/31/18 1:07 PM
I use fairly regularly since finding a few weeks ago.. Exactly what I was looking for to track storms here in Montana. Allows me to plan for road conditions and prepare for storms. Few drawbacks.. Needs better instruction for novice users who want to learn. The video walkthrough offered is useless. Also, like every other app, for the extra features u need to... Yup, pay extra. This is a paid app, yet they want more $ at every step along the way. I paid $10.. The infrastructure was/is there. Not like RadarScope is building radar stations and funding using the $ from app. Greed ruins everything. Unfortunately, u feel it here too.

RadarScope was down across all Apple platforms for part of yesterday. There was no communication from RadarScope and did nothing about it. Many users advised it was an app issue. Again RadarScope did nothing to investigate. Many users were not happy with the lack of assistance. I guess they did one thing, rudely advise to open a repair ticket. Decided to leave the Facebook group because of it. If you are gonna act like egotistical idiots forget it. Get rid of your egos and assist customers. You aren’t as smart as you think and get trained on attention to detail. Finding a new group manager would help as well.

I was a little hesitant to spend $10 on this app but I decided to do it because the previous weather radar app I had, had an update that ruined the app for me. I love that I can track the storm and the way it is set up is very easy to read. The only thing I am sad it does not have (or maybe I can't find it) is I can't figure out how to drop pins on different locations so I can monitor the weather in those areas, that's the only reason it has lost one star. However, if the developers can create something like that in an update I will edit my review and give it 5 stars :)
Ghemd's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 12/17/18 1:12 PM
I have used this app for years in Kansas. I have continued to try different radar apps. There is no better radar app. I can depend on it to give accurate high definition radar images. I have come to depend on it, while coaching sports, to decide if we need to cancel/change practice. It lets me know how close lightening is. I also use it to see how much hail a storm has and move my truck into the garage.
Billwitten's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 12/17/18 1:12 PM
Why would you take away dual pane mode after I already bought the app? I bought the app partially because it had a dual pane mode. If you sell something to someone you shouldn't go back and remove functionality and demand more money to add the functionality back in. In car sales that is called a lemon and it's illegal. In software it's just dishonest and c***** behavior.
waggontrain's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 12/17/18 1:12 PM
Do you like a national map that allows you to be able to locate local and long range storms? Do you like having high definition map overlays that allow you to locate exactly where the action is happening and heading? Do you want to have a weather app that is easy to navigate? Unfortunately this app fails on everything. What it does do well is charge 10 dollars to download the basic functions. If your disappointed by the basic application and interested and or already invested in the initial 10 dollars the next 10 dollars to get tier 1 access seems like an appropriate next step. Once you get yourself into the 20 dollar range of access you realize that it still is terrible and the next option to get the holy grail of weather apps is the PRO tier 2. It's only 100 dollars in addition to the 10 dollar app download fee. Also anytime you download the application regardless of level... your also agreeing to a contract that automatically deducts money from your account on a yearly basis. This weather application is the best...for it's investors.

Pro-Version Tier 2 is $14.99 a month! My review would be a 4 or 5 stars if only there were a Free Trial available. I bought the Tier 1 subscription at $9.99 per-year and it's features were so underwhelming, I rarely used them and I will NOT be renewing my subscription.... I consider it a waste of money. After this experience I won't give another dime until a free trial is offered for Tier 2. Now RadarScope still has the same great radar products it came with originally and is by far the best radar app
zeta 7's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 12/17/18 1:12 PM

Trainguy442's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 11/7/17 12:19 AM
THIS APP IS FOR WEATHER PROFESSIONALS! READ THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE YOU BUY! I capitalized those sentences because there are reviews that don't belong to a great app like this. For example, in one review this was said: "It allows you to pick a radar site in a state and when you do it's just for that area that the radar reaches out to." Well, Duh?! That's how Doppler Radar works. If you read the description, it says this: "It can display the latest...from any NEXRAD or TDWR radar site in the U.S." Notice it says SITE, not SITES, with an S. There are also complaints of the app being too expensive. Well professional doesn't come cheap in case you didn't know. Where are you going to find a radar app that gives reflectivity, velocity, dual-polarization, VIL all for free? Nowhere. Plus it updates at 2 minute intervals, and it's all raw data. Where are you going to find that for free? People have to earn a few bucks in order to produce an app like this. And I believe $100 bucks a year, is fair enough. This is a gorgeous, easy to use and master weather app. If you want to know wind speeds in a thunderstorm, the percentage of hail in a storm, where the storm is heading, this is the app for you! You have to have knowledge of weather/radars in order to know how they work, but this app is certainly the very best out of all the weather apps. 5/5 and highly recommend to any weather geek!

iPhone Duke's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 11/5/17 3:29 PM
Edit 2: I wish there was an option to set a default radar for my location. I moved to an area that is on the far western edge of a radar zone. So it automatically sets me to this radar well to my east, and I can’t see any storms coming because the radar falls off. So I have to manually change it to the radar to my west, which I’m pretty sure is actually closer and covers any storms coming my way. Since most storms come from the west there should be a bias to set cities near the western edge of a radar to the radar towards their west. Edit: Nobody that I’ve seen who rates this app poorly seems to understand how to use it. It’s not because the app is designed poorly, it’s that they don’t understand how to use advanced radar data, which is what this app gives you. If you want a national mosaic that dumbs it down for you, go elsewhere. — Original review: Seriously. This is as good as it gets folks. This app isn't for viewing mosaics of a region. And they don't “pretty up” the data. This is what the radar outputs. It lets you dig in and see the storm in unprecedented detail. I recommend purchasing the Pro package. It lets you see everything in very fine detail. It's Level II radar data straight from the NWS. I've used this app several times to get a five minute lead time on developing tornadoes—that's before the sirens go off. And that was also before I had access to high resolution data. But you have to know what to look for in the data. My only complaints are that I believe the Level II data comes with more tilt angles, so including those would be helpful. Furthermore, a 3D visualization of the storm would make the Pro package even more worthwhile. The lightning data doesn't seem very useful to me. I'd also like to get more data about the storm, like max estimated hail size and the echo top when I tap on the storm track.
SageBeach's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 11/4/17 8:46 PM
If you want to know what’s happening right now with the best graphics, this is the best app. I would also use in with conjunction with Dark Sky. Dark Sky is great for what will happen in the future but the colors for DS aren’t the best. This app has been invaluable to me knowing exactly where the clouds are and where they’re going. Once I was traveling without a coat and it was raining REALLY hard. I noticed on here the severe storm only had a little more to go and then would be clear after. I ducked in for dinner and I knew I was good. You don’t need the extra super duper upgrades but I upgraded to the first tier since it’s fun to see the lightning. It is also nice that it shows the severe weather warnings and outlines exactly where the warning is for.

I’ve been using this app since March, because a fellow friend of mine, who is also a meteorologist recommended this app to me. I’m in love with this app. I don’t believe that you need to pay anymore than what you need to. The price it asks for is the price it really is. You don’t need to pay extra for pro stages if you don’t want those stages. You have access to every nexRad radar. You can see a variety of things I didn’t know was there. There is Velocity (rotation), reflectivity (normal radar), correlation coefficient (shows any non-meteorological debris), etc. I love it. I have payed for any of the pro tiers, and I don’t plan too. Even without lightning, I am able to tell if it has a lot of lightning in it.

WeatherGuy99's Review of RadarscopeReviewed on 10/15/18 3:07 AM
If you’re a huge fan of the weather, especially when it comes to looking at the radar, this app is heaven for you! I recently upgraded to tier 1 for dual-pane radar, lightning, and inspector tools, and I outta say it’s been well worth it! A request to RadarScope, You probably won’t see this but could you add the town of Alto, Michigan if possible to the map? It makes for a great middle town between Grand Rapids, Clarksville, Lowell, and Caledonia Michigan. I also request this because the town has seen some nasty weather over the years and there’s been no proof to pinpoint the town on radar... just had to take a guess on it’s location. On top of that, there are quite a few residents in the town. It’s no ordinary one street pass-through. Thanks otherwise!

While this may be above the heads of the general public, if you’re a knowledgeable weather enthusiast, student, professional - this is THE MUST HAVE radar app. I would be lost without RadarScope. It has a very simple interface and every radar product you could imagine. I use this app when I go storm chasing and have full confidence in its performance while in the field. Additionally, creating loops and screenshots for media could not be easier. I really cannot speak more highly about this app. Price is $10, but I would happily pay $100 for a product like this.

This app is for meteorologists, storm chasers, storm spotters or anyone who is weather saavy. It upsets me when anyone rates this app bad when they don't know how to use it. This app is everything you want in radar and more. If you know weather data it can cost as much as $20 to $30 dollars monthly for hi resolution, this app is unbelievable. Hi res reflectivity, hi res velocity, tilt and beam height, shows your position on the maps. Warnings and advisories. Compatible with Spotternetwork and Allisonhouse. If you are a spotter or chaser this is a must!!

Not sure what happened with this app, today is January 15, 2018 and for some unknown reason the app is no longer working, It was a great app until a week ago, tried deleting and reloading and then it works for awhile then goes back to error message: "Unable to load image at this time" Also I paid for the pro version, but it won't work with pro version on my other Apple iPad! It keeps asking me to purchase another pro license for my other devices ? That's ridiculous! And Made inquiries for assistance, but nobody responds, Developer support is not available ? Why??
