I was excited to see this potential technology arrive at a reasonable price, but unfortunately the reading is not accurate. Off by 10 mm. Too bad.

Notice the price difference between the iPad version and the iPhone version. No way a simple measuring algorithm is worth $10 bucks. Save your money and print off a free millimeter ruler from the Internet.

A pupilometer and much more!

I am an optometrist practicing in the US. I have my opticians use this app on many of our patients to obtain PD's and seg heights. We use a 14MP camera with 5x optical zoom to capture the photos. This camera cost $99.00 and was purchased at Target. Where this app really shows it's abilities is in measuring around the eye. I have photo documented patients with ptosis, blepharochalasis, pterygiums, and multiple types of lid lesions. As long as I capture the eye and the black strip in the photo, all the measurements can be taken with accuracy. I email the measured photo to the office email and upload the 600k sized file into the patients EMR for later comparison. I have sent these photos to oculoplastic surgeons to help aid in treatment. I'm not sure if these photos can be billed as anterior segment photos, but if they can, just one billed photo would more than pay for the app. My overall cost was iPad ($600), camera ($100), USB adapter ($40). I use the iPad in office anyway so I really shouldn't add that in for cost, in my case. Thus, for around $150 I have a great tool that many of my patients are amazed by. Any type of photo documentation goes a long way in the medical field. I give this app an enthusiastic five stars!!

It was working perfectly then all of a sudden it stopped.
