Puffin Cloud Browser App Reviews

I love puffing, is having a real browser on my iPad/iPhone but, the cloud to cloud download is broke; I know they drop support from Dropbox and recommend google drive, guess what, It doesn’t work. No sing in/out option. At lest still work for the other thing. I’m waiting for an update. Maybe the windows version is taking the more time than expected. Focus on your paid costumers please.

It’s not worth it trying to play a flash game and like the free version it crashes about every minute and restarts

When I first purchased Puffin, it was an improvement from Safari. Now I often find myself having to switch over to Safari because something won't load or the page won't scroll. I feel that Puffin is in need of an update.

I bought this browser because I wanted to make my iPad surf the web as is I was on my computer. Please add this to the next update because I love this app but right now it is not working to its full potential. When you add WebGL 2.0 to it I will this it 5 stars

Would like to see some bugs squashed and support for iPhone X full screens. That goes for Xs, Xs Max, and XR as well.

This browser hasn’t been updated in a year. Too many bugs to mention. Will not run scripts anymore. Time to delete it for good.

I write this review in the hopes of the developers actually reading it. I don’t often write a review for apps, because I think it is evident when they have done a good job. But.... I have used puffin for literally years. I have found it to be my go to browser for anything. But recently I have been disappointed by the lack of support, and how outdated it has become. It still performs most of the tasks I want it to, but why is there NO SUPPORT FOR html5 videos? It just feels like this app haven’t been updated in months. I love this app and am sad to think that I will have to switch to a new platform just so I can a few basic things. TLDR: fix html5 videos, and this is a awesome browse. Thanks, A satisfied user.

Past couple of days not working for flash sites. Cleared cache and tried installing again. Not working.

It does not give me an option to open a download zip file even though a different app.

Puffin loads heavy data sites like a champ. It flat out burns every other browser. If you force close all your browser apps and relaunch them onto data heavy sites like msn,yahoo,foxnews,cnn, to test how quickly they load. You will see this app truly work! Seriously 1/5 the loading time! Way faster than any other browser I’ve ever used and 10 stars all the way.. gives a slightly more browser-esque feel but for what I need it for 10 stars!

I love this app and the capability it gives me to access web page content Safari doesn’t allow. This has made it my go to web browser for a long time. I recently upgraded from 9.7 iPad Pro to 12.9 and now if I switch to request mobile site, and close the app, the app will no longer open. I have to delete the app and re-download. Please fix this... having to check what mode I’m in before leaving the app is a pain, and having to re-download each time I don’t nullifies the convenience of the app.

Great Browser but needs an update

Recently videos have stopped working which is what I mainly use it for they won’t load won’t play.

There are no other browsers like it. I hope Puffin continues to develop this amazing browser app.

This is really worth your money, this version of puffin has no ads, faster service, easier controls, and so much more! I don’t regret spending my money on it, because it’s worth the price! Now, my opinion about people using this as their main browser: No, don’t depend on this as your main browser! Puffin was mainly released to be able to have the same games and formats as a computer. It was made for looking at things you can only access on the computer/laptop. But now that they released it to have an option between a computers options and a phones options, everyone is choosing phones. Guys, you need internet for this to work, that’s why your getting all kinds of bugs! I get that it’s faster, but these people are writing reviews like “I’m cursing at my iPad bc it’s not as fast as puffin”. Like seriously? Your that dependent on puffin? I only use puffin to play pc games that I can’t play on my phone, like Animal Jam. Welp that’s all I had to say bye🤝

Each time I google search, it freezes my entire device and I have to restart.

Needs to be updated to take advantage of bigger screens! However, this is not CloudMosa’s fault! Apple is rejecting the update.

The app is saying "No network"

I bought this browser because I wanted to make my iPad surf the web as if I was on my computer. But the flash doesn’t work anymore so it’s of no use to me right now until the flash is back. Also it seems like the android version is working perfectly though, so why did you guys stop working on the apple version?

It works great for all the flash that will not play on safari. I use it daily and love it. It does what I need it to do.

I have purchased two Puffin and then was told Puffin Pro with blue background would work better for bejeweled blitz as that’s what I use it for.I have to reconnect after each action and sometimes I can only see partial pictures,almost half the page is gone!How can I fix this?Can you fix this??Please help?!?

I like the Puffin Browser but the auto play video ads I can not hang with! Also if you pay $3.99 for an app shouldn’t it not have ads? Really disappointed I spent $4 on this. It doesn’t seem any different than the free version. This app has the potential to be awesome. I like most things about it except for the ads ....it has more ads and auto play videos then any browser I have ever used. Keep working on this app. Great idea but still not where it needs to be.

Hi, I was watching the live feeds on the full site of cvs and have done it for years on your app. Now, when I open the browser to watch the time is gone and it just was stuck on a time and it won’t move. I paid for this app and I paid for live feeds so I need to watch. Can someone please fix this issue with the app or figure out how to move the app online because I now their much let be millions who use this app just can’t get on. This app hasn’t even been updated to support the iPhone X, yet they now have a Puffin Browser Lite. I would expect for a company to care about clients who paid for their product. The iPhone X support is lacking.

My iPhone 7 Plus can handle any desktop website I've come across. So, there's no reason for me to use a browser that forces me to view cheesy little mobile sites or a card view that wastes screen space. Yes, Puffin has a few problems, but it is better than the mobile-site penalty I get for using other browsers. --

Can we please get an update to take advantage of the larger iPhone X screen? I’m sure there are plenty of under the hood tweaks that could be made with the new iOS api libraries too.

Needs an update for iPhone X screen size. It’s been long enough to reasonably wait for this update.

Most webpages do not load (basic websites, tumblr, etc.). Gameplay is not possible (not even simple flash games). This app is now obsolete.

I think after the last couple of iOS updates this app has had some stability issues. This app will now crash my iPad Pro at least once a day now. I’ll be watching a web based video and my device becomes unresponsive and then reboots.

I’ve been using Puffin for a good while now with no real problems. All of a sudden a play button appears on every flash game I attempt to play and I can’t get rid of it, and it won’t allow me to play the game. Pretty much ruined the experience.

Everything on this app is going downhill! My bookmarks are being erased every time I quit the app, I cannot sign in to anything, if I do sign into something I am promptly logged out. Trash the app if an update is never going to come

This app has consumed consumed 428 mb without allowing me to complete a web connection while Safari has used 636 mb for a day’s worth of browsing. I do not keep critical data on this device so I can afford the lesson.

This browser is great at preventing websites from forcing you into using a bad mobile layout. There's many websites that have just abysmal user interfaces and or missing or broken features on mobile. And it doesn't help that some websites just completely ignore your request for the desktop site because of bad code. With the Puffin browser, you don't have to worry about any of that. No longer will you be forced to use the mobile layout. While I definitely wouldn't consider completely replacing Safari of Firefox, for this, it's a good alternative to have when you may be having issues with websites not working on your other browsers.

In a side-by-side test between Puffin and Photon, Puffin nails it. Even with Photon’s bandwidth slider and gaming settings, it can’t come close to Puffin’s smooth rendering and general usability.

I’m not sure why some people have has poor experiences with this browser. In some instances I can’t access certain content due to standards issues but I love this app!

As I sit here typing this review I am in the middle of a major city with a perfect connection. I have opened and closed, opened & closed, restarted, deleted, reinstalled, & refreshed Puffin for two days now. It won’t do ANYTHING. It refreshes for a bit then the screen goes white. I have never had such issues with Puffin but it has become more frequent. It routinely loses connection for no reason, then becomes impossible to function for another 2 hours, then I’m back using the app I tried to escape from in the first place. Seriously, how about an update or just delete this crap, Firefox is looking better and that’s sad

Just purchased this today AND it doesn’t work. I had the free version that I used last year with NO problems until this year. So I opted for the pro THINKING it would be a better fix! The developer is usually really good on releases on Google Play. However, it appears that the developer has not been developing this paid app for a year. Especially needed is an update for the iPhone X resolution.

It’s hard to believe I used to play online games with this browser on my iPad. Now, I avoid using this app at all costs. The keyboard will open and close almost randomly, even when you’re in the middle of typing something. Pages will refresh constantly and without warning (unless the app freezing the minute before counts). I have to switch between the touchpad/mouse within the app and regular use of my screen (directly clicking) to make things work at all because which one will actually work changes without notice. It’s like a guessing game. I tried to cut slack and blame my internet connection, but I just got everything upgraded and high speed. This is still the only app with these problems. For me, as a now iPad Pro user, things have only gotten worse. I’m now looking at substitutes. If the app works for you, great, but it doesn’t for me despite everything being up to speed elsewhere.

The only reason i purchased this app is because i use some services from Wells Fargo that can only be accessed through the desktop version. I tried login into my account and i get the mobile version every time. Paid for this app, it’s a great app but they’ve stopped updating it. So don’t buy it because it will probably stop working soon on newer devices/firmwares

Robust and forgiving are NOT words I would use to describe this. However, it's the only game in town if you want to save something to google drive. Just don't accidentally hit Dropbox or you will have to do a hard reset on the browser. Save functionality ceases. And it won't play videos over cell network, even when data saving is off.

Yo guys. I know the phone is new and harder than other phones to code but I’d really enjoy an update optimized for the new os and the iPhone X, let me tell you I still use it regularly and for several of my browsing needs. However not being able to zoom in videos is borderline unacceptable when it’s been out for almost 3 months (4?)

Basic feature such as 'download tab' is basically inaccessible because of how it refuses to load up whatever I had downloaded/downloaded. App sometimes refuses to function as intended. I've reinstalled this recently and yet still have a same issue. Can we have updates, like how Facebook updates their app every week/month.

Fix for the iPhone X. It doesn’t fit the screen and runs slower then when I was using my 6s. Update: App is becoming more and more unresponsive and not loading pages properly.

So much so, I bought the pro version right away. I’ve used this browser since they first hit the app store, and the only complaint I’ve had was one time I lost the record of my downloads when I allowed an update. That’s happened with Google and Safari, so I can’t hold Puffin’s feet to the fire, now can I ? They do what they say, better than anyone else. So there.

Computer browsers work well on nearly every site, and Puffin comes closest to that for smartphones and tablets.

I thought by purchasing puffin pro would reduce the ads, surprise that the ads still appear and more than ever. What a waste of money, also very slow do not recommend to anyone.

5 years before was my fav app

A few versions ago, the navigation bar would move out of the way when you zoomed in on a page. This feature was awesome! Please bring it back!!!!! Also, iPhoneX users would really appreciate an optimization to take advantage of the extra screen space. 5 stars if these things were corrected

PLEASE just make the screen go edge to edge. I know it’s been a year since the last update but this really doesn’t need much coding at all. I’m not even asking for new features.

The very best alternative to nearly every browser for iOS: as this has a customer rendering engine. Different websites load better with this one year old app than Safari does. I’m also glad the formatting actually does render correctly for the new iPad Pro 11” screen. Apple is no longer allowing this app to be updated, due to their policy change on independent rendering engines/flash support. It’s a very sad situation, hoping even a year later that this would be resolved eventually.

Puffin is still the only browser that lets you access the web from mobile as if you were on desktop. Totally indispensable for some websites on the go. I bought pro to support you guys, I just wish you would give your fans an update after a year with no peep from the devs! Would love WebGL support. Keep up the good work, I hope the app hasn’t been mothballed.

Worked fine on iPad Air 2 but crashes when I updated to iPad Pro 11 inch. Only crashes when it is closed in incognito mode. The app will not work even after closing app or restarting iPad. Only works if you uninstall and reinstalling app. Please Fix

I downloaded this browser because of all of the positive reviews online. It is supposed to be fast. My experience is that it is noticeably slower than safari. Page frame loads quickly but images load super slow. I would not recommend this to anyone.

This is a well made app. Easy to use and quick. There has been a recent update that causes the app to crash after connecting to a vpn. It was working on the same vpn till about a week ago. I have not changed any settings.

Safari, in my opinion, is the worst. It slows down, won’t load videos at random times, won’t load certain basic content in certain pages, won’t play certain file types. I find myself constantly using Puffin to compensate for what Safari fails at, and honestly I’m basically using Puffin primarily. Basic problem is connectivity whilst idle... When you go back to load a page it absolutely will not do it. I turn Airplane Mode on & off, then it seems to work fine... not really an issue for me considering what I was using prior.

Had to delete. No sound on videos. Checked all my settings. Nope.

I've been using this app on my iPad for years and enjoying its performance, along with its capabilities. However, recently I've experienced an issue with the app whenever I try to download an MP3 file. It'll show that the download is ready, but the download will not make any progress whatsoever. I know for sure that it's neither my iPad, nor my internet, nor my download source that is the issue. It's the app that is causing the problem. I love using this app, but I cannot enjoy it, or download anything, while this issue remains. Please fix it so I can enjoy using this app again!

I don’t see in anyway why this has a low rating. It's one of my favorite browsers honestly. Hands down the best desktop browser on for the mobile device. I love how you can use the front cam for online webcam. It's fast also it's easy to download anything and have it to straight to Dropbox or Google drive. I rarely pay for so apps and I have no regrets for buying this one. It's my second most used web browser, I use Safari the most because of its integration with the phone but when I need to download anything I openin in Puffin.

This browser used to replace the safari and any other browser. Nowadays you type something into google and it take 2 minutes to start to load a page. Very disappointing now.

Despite claimed data savings, this browser doesn’t feel any faster than Safari. I used to enjoy downloading large files directly to Dropbox in order to “save data”. Dropbox has since stopped supporting Puffin, however, Dropbox continues to be an option as a save location. Please remove this. I wasted an hour trying to figure out why files won’t save directly to Dropbox.

You need an update on the pro version of Puffin. Like full screen on the internet browser, turbo loading webpages on 4G and LTE, download of any type of videos, change the image of the penguin on the app, and add numbers on your keyboard.

Works GREAT for viewing sites with Flash. Still needs: Ability to print, easier navigation buttons I.e. Select button ( not just select all), arrow button for navigation. Keep up the good work! Update: Needs an update!

I was perfectly happy with the version of puffin i've been using for over 2 years but you guys just had to force me to update by blocking usage of the app. Browser tabs should be on the bottom! make a way to me to put tabs on the bottom!

The current app doesn’t seem to support multitasking. When I leave the app and open another random app then go back to puffin, it freezes and crash. Wow. I guess it needs some more work. Maybe an iOS 11 incompatibility issue. Who knows.

i use puffin the most. even more than safari. for the last week puffin has saved me 92%. i use freedompop and never go over. love it!

when the next update ?

This app is great. But it needs an update for iPhone X Max. It’s not taking advantage of the whole screen

I like most everything about this app, but have a few wants when it comes to downloads: 1. Can you add saving to OneDrive as an option? 2. I’ve had issues saving .rar files to local storage and having access to them. I tap the download and nothing happens. Usually I want access to the file so I can transfer it to a file management app such as File Explorer. This then lets me transfer a file to my NAS. Adding a Share option to downloads would be a major help for me. 3. Can we get iPhone X support? That would be great too. Keep up the great work.

Please update the version of flash this uses. I can’t play open load videos because of it.

Finally flash is not a kick in the gut, i can use adobe connect

The app is not working so well for ios anymore. Some of the websites I go to do not display so well and do not even play videos. They really need to update this because I see that their last update was 1 year ago....

I don’t know what happen to this app, but it does crash and terminate all the time!!! I’ve downloaded the newest version and it gets worse! Please fix, thank you.

puffin browser is sooo fast and its um noticeable. if you give puffin less than 4 stars you are lying. it rocks
