Short weekend in PR and looking to wander around San Juan on a Historic Walk. I found the app to be clumsy, difficult to use and not very intuitive. It have me walking around in circles versus going from nearby attraction to the next nearest attraction. I watch the videos after a day of using it and I’m still confused. Save your money. All those who wander are not lost.

I just returned from a trip to Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Slovenia. I need to mention I typically HATE subscription based software. Just sell me the software and move on. After using GPSmyCity I am happy to pay the $18.00 USD per year. Our first city Split Croatia had a walking tour for about $35.00 USD per person. Since GPSmyCity had a money back guarantee we thought why not try it. If we like it we will save $52.00 USD. $70.00 - $18.00, if we don’t like it we can cancel the subscription and book the $35.00 USD live tour . Plus if we like it we can still use the App for the rest of the year. The tours offered for Split where very detailed (I think there were 4 in total). The map and directions worked perfect even in small alleyways. The best part you do not need cell service (no data charges) while taking a tour. The articles for Split also gave us some insight into the city. We ended up using the App in Dubrovnik, Kotor, Mostar, Sarajevo, Ljubljana and Lake Bled. As you can see we easily paid for this app for the next 20 or so years in just one trip. Does this app replace a live person tour? No. But is it worth the $18.00 per year? Absolutely!! If you are still not sure try it, there is a money back guarantee. PS I am not talking about the free version. You need to subscribe to the full version and they will not charge you for a few days to allow you to try out the app. If you do not like it you can cancel and never get charged. Enjoy.

GPSmyCity is my go-to travel app for all my trips for several years. The included self guided walks show the main attractions in a city. The plentiful travel articles in each city covers topics from food, shopping, cafes, bars, nightlife, museums and anything else one can imagine. The app makes trip planning and city exploring fun!

My husband and I have become independent travelers after many years of group tours. We have used GPS my City app in many major cities throughout Europe and have had great success. I pay the additional fee so that I can use my phone’s gps without having to eat up my data plan. Data is expensive so find this a reasonable alternative. We are enjoying our travels and find help with technology wherever we can. GPSmyCity is a little like having our our tour guide, but on our own timetable.

Bought on the quick while in Central Europe. Paid the $12.99 and still don’t get City walks until $18.99. Keeps prompting to upgrade. Wasted enough; no thank you.

There really isn’t anything functional in this “free” app until you pay more after downloading.

Great app. I use it on all my trips. Love the fact that I don’t use data when finding my way around. My must have app when traveling. Thanks team! Paul

I have the Charleston app (and several others) and use it quite often when we visit Charleston several times/year. So I was really excited about this app, but! There is an ongoing $12.99/year subscription fee and the first city I clicked on said it was a basic map and for an extra fee I could get a more detailed map?! Are you kidding me? I’m buying a map for the opportunity to then buy the real map?! The individual maps are purchased for $4.99, so unless you visit more than three cities/year it makes more sense to buy the individual maps which I love.

Deleted this app within a few days. Tried to use it to set up a walking tour but all it wanted was money. Maps.me is a much better app. Maps.me doesn’t have walking tours but it works off-line without having to use data.
