You could listen to the users and fix it. Nah, why bother. Oh boy.

This app does not give you the CORRECT gate change! It’s happened twice now where it will tell me my new gate number just to arrive and see another destination listed on the overhead board. Make sure you check the airports flights and corresponding gates and do not listen to the app if you have a gate correction. Also the apps check-in is glitchy. I have to look up my six letter confirmation to check in even though I have already added it, the app manages to delete it from the previous screen. This app needs a lot of work.

Tried to book a flight this morning that had very good pricing. Chose the flights, chose the fare we wanted, tried to complete the booking and got this... Pricing error An error occurred that we didn’t quite expect. Unable to price. Fares Unavailable. We’ve been automatically notified, and hope to address this issue shortly. The only option was to click OK and then it took me back to the prior screen. I’ve been trying for 5 hours with the same message popping up each time I try. Online does not offer the same pricing as the AP, very misleading!

I don’t know if I’m just lucky in avoiding all of the bugs people talk about in more negative reviews, but my experience with the app has been fantastic. The design is clear and clean. All of the normal things I would need (checking flight, itinerary, and airport info) are easily accessible in the app. I recommend downloading this instead of relying on a website view of AirCanada.com or whatever!

I just down loaded this app. The mobile account they want you to set up is not linked to my account on Air Canada.com (aeroplan) and the field to enter your mobile phone on this app does not work!! What a complete failure of an airline app. Please be warned, do not download this app, you will have far less trouble going to their .com site.

Ok, there are bad apps but when an app seems purposely constructed to be awful, that’s a rarity. If they simply made the terminology uniform through the app it would be huge. Why in the jeeslus heck I would have to supply my own reservation number AFTER signing in is just b.s.

Guys, I develop apps for a living and I have to say this is one of the worst I’ve seen. Why? 1) The backend services are flakey as hell. Half the times I’ve tried to use it they are reported as unavailable. My guess is they are either truly down this often or transient service failures result in unrecoverable errors. Either case tells me there’s still a lot of work to do—and perhaps some serious rearchitecting. 2) Error messages are either misleading, useless, or downright wrong. It’s not that difficult to provide clear error messages to the user that tell them what really happened and what can be done (other than “try again later”. Unforgivable. 3) Some functions simply don’t work. After downloading my boarding pass into the app (a behavior I hate—I don’t want to have to launch an app to show my boarding pass at the gate—that’s what the Apple Wallet is for). At least the app does offer an “Add to Wallet” button—which doesn’t work! “Would you like to add 0 boarding passes to your Wallet?” Sheesh! 4) The UX is not bad but not really good either. It doesn’t hew closely to modern UX paradigms and it has a completely inexplicable division of functions to different pages and menus. Bottom line: use it if you are forced to but don’t expect much. Air Canada, you not to fire your current development partner and look for developers who earned their chops on AOL website design. And while you’re at it, completely redesign your service layer.

Terrible app. Will not download on iPhone 7; forces you to sign in each time by opening a new account; can navigate to get to existing flights booked. Company needs to hire some qualified app designers. Worst airline app I have come across. RCK
