App works pretty good. I’d like to see an update that would add gears to the trans mode with automatics in mind but it works well with manuals. The fuel mileage is more accurate than the onboard computer of my 2014 Ram truck. You do need a WiFi OBD2 device which some come with programming but mine didn’t hence why I purchased this app.

I just purchased this app to work with a new ODBII sensor. It appears to work well with our Buick Enclave however, many screens lack a method to back out to the main menu once in. Very lame and poor navigation structure. It’s like the software was written for an Android device which many come with a physical back button. The iPhone does not have a back button. So I spent $9.99 for an inferior app. The only way to back out is to shutdown the app and restart it. Really? Seriously, it’s like the developer built all these cool screens you get to but left no way to get out of them. All for $9.99. I would recommend another app for less money if I knew of one but at this time I do no of another. I’m looking. I just wonder if this review is going to fall on deaf ears?

This app does as advertised which is really cool. The online documentation is fine and I’m not aware of a truly competing app for iPhone/iPad. That said, it appears to use a lot of juice. I run it plugged into the charge port and after a short while my iPhone 6s is quite hot. This is probably inevitable for real-time monitoring and computing across many OBDII and iPhone sensors. But it concerns regarding possible adverse impact on battery life.

Some things are hard to figure out. Overall provides tons of information about performance etc. I have quit figured out how to enter my fuel price with fillup so I’ve not been able to get a cost per trip/mile... with the car I drive it’s almost a necessity. Gauges are plain unless you get a skin/gauge pack. Some things it says my car is capable of providing data for, but I have been able to get them to work... even after paying extra for the GM addon. It’s inexpensive but I’d like more.

Fargo Fans 1's Review of DashcommandReviewed on 4/15/18 6:06 PM
I think this is a great app. My car originally came with a very minimal gauge set and I’m really happy with what’s available on it. If I did have one knock on this app, it would be making custom gauges on the web. It seems like a very difficult process, if you don’t know how it works. I spent many weeks trying to get something together for my car and although it works OK, I feel like if there was a better set of instructions, it would be a lot more user-friendly.

AVeryUnhappyCustomer's Review of DashcommandReviewed on 3/4/18 8:37 PM
After paying $9.95 for the App, it won’t read anything but trivial diagnostic codes without you paying an additional $9.95. I feel ripped off! I recommend the free apps if you want to read a trouble code. Software is buggy, loses connection frequently, and reports inconsistent codes. Not what you expect for a paid app, even worse when you realize is really twice price. The Gauges are pretty but the User interface is horrible. I couldn’t have picked a worse App for a simple trouble code read.
120Flyer's Review of DashcommandReviewed on 3/30/18 1:10 PM

I really enjoy this software and for the most part does a good job. One frustrating thing is that NEITHER of my cars showed up in the database. 2009 Nissan 370z and 2014 Nissan Juke Nismo. For those newer than 2014, I predict even more frustration since within manual selection, 2014 is the last year in the list. I put in my VIN numbers manually, but have no clue if they are actually reading a database. I’m a gadget junky and love the feedback that I get. Thankfully, I currently don’t have any codes thrown, so I can’t comment on that functionality.

So far I’ve really enjoyed the app. I used to have a pioneer app radio and there is an app that allows you to put this on the big screen there. But it’s not offered for standard Apple car play enabled devices. I’d love to throw a few extra gauges on the big screen while I’m tuning or at the track. For a paid app, I expect more frequent updates like bug fixes, or UI improvements, but it hasn't been updated in about a year at this point. The interface is not great. As others have pointed out, getting back to the main menu isn't intuitive. Having to manually enter your car's details for models after 2014 is also lame. I honestly couldn't say that I'd recommend this app to friends. I would suggest spending the extra money on Blue Driver. I would probably change my mind if the developer would give this app some attention.

I just got the app a few days ago. I had read the negative reviews just as much as the positive ones but still bought it any way. Ultimately I can get some data out of it and that’s somewhat useful, rpm (my crown vic doesn’t have that on the cluster) , check codes , coolant temp, Fuel trims, but as for HP, torque, CO2 nothing . Furthermore the fuel level percent seems to be off. It read 48.2% when my tank is well above half a tank. It’s a nice app but I wouldn’t purchase again.

Update Oct 2018 The app hasn’t been updated in forever. The UI is like iOS4 is back in style. Yes it works but that may not be the case going forward. When I bought my 2016 truck I had use the 2014 pids. Ended up with an Edge Insight for my diesel truck and used this in my SUV. Bought a new SUV now and have no idea if the 2014 Ford pids I bought as in-app purchase are still valid. Guess this is the new way software works, you write an app, sell it for a couple of years, and then abandon it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One of the recommended hardware adapters is the OBDLink MX Wifi...beware it has serious connectivity issues even from when it was a Kickstarter project. Yet DashCommand still recommends it. Basically with the MX DashCommand won't work. I swapped the MX for the PLX Devices Kiwi 2. It's about 1/2 the price and works great. Now I can give DashCommand an appropriate review. It works great for my application of wanting to continuously monitor a handful of engine parameters. No connectivity issues other than typical iOS mandated situations like switching to another app. I did buy an in-app purchase for vehicle specific PIDs. All in it's still way cheaper than buying physical gauges and installing them in my truck. I recommend it so long as you've got the right hardware. Wish there was better documentation other than having to post in the forums but at least they're responsive.

I got this app to get an idea of the HP of my Merc C63s before and after some major upgrades. It connects to my kiwi 3 just fine, but then when I go to select my vehicle in the app, guess what? No updates since 2014. Yup. If your car is 2015 or later you’re out of luck. So, I had to pick the 2015 model even though it’s completely different motor etc. I don’t know if that is the issue or if it’s another bug entirely, but according to the app my car has something like 65000 HP. Go figure. I don’t really get how they get away with continuing to sell this app when it hasn’t supported anything released in the last 4 years?
Smith Rock Climber's Review of DashcommandReviewed on 10/19/17 2:16 AM
I recently bought a PLX Kiwi 3 device and installed Dashcommand to connect to the unit. I have not been able to connect to the kiwi3 with Dashcommand using iOS 11.0.3 on a iPhone 7 . Ive checked the settings in Dashcommand and everything is set to the recommended settings. I am able to use the kiwi3 with Auto Doctor on my iphone and the free android version of dashcommand using my tablet and it looks good, but I just cant get Dashcommand to connect to the kiwi3 using my iphone. I hope this gets fixed soon as I am interested in using DC, and have paid for the app. I hope this helps inform people before they buy Dashcommand to ise with a kiwi3 and ios 11.0.3. It is currently not working for me. I am giving this 1 star only because it wont connect to my kiwi3, other than that it looks like it has potential to be pretty cool.

We’ve been using DashCommand for more than six years, but it’s always been buggy, despite of a few improvements of the user interface. Our main use is to monitor fuel tank level and fuel consumption. A great flaw is that after fueling up you have to drive many miles before you get an accurate tank reading. Also since we switched to newer cars that use the Automatic™️ OBD-II adapter, it’s gotten very tricky to cajole DashCommand to start reading the bus signals, because it fails to properly handshake with Automatic on startup.

The dashboard and monitors worked and I was able to read codes, but app would not clear codes. No error messages, just didn't clear codes. I used a FREE app to clear the codes and wish I had not made this purchase!

It’s a great app but a total battery hog. Battery level goes down even when In charger. What a shame

Received my sensor and downloaded this app. Found it fairly easy to use and understand.

Been trying everything for over 30 minutes to connect to a 2000 Chevy Blazer.

First fix that needs help is iPhone X screen support, I feel like I am on my old iPhone 5 looking at this. Second is I actually purchased this because pioneer electronics says it works with AppRadio and Apple CarPlay and both of those are false. I wanted to monitor my car using CarPlay and after purchasing all the stuff to do it, and not having it work is a big disappointment.

I purchased a Kiwi3 and after finding out the app designed for the unit didn't even work, I gave this a try since it was given such good reviews online. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't buy something else and I'd happily do it again. This app works, connects instantly with the reader, and gives me every bit of info I could have wanted to know about my 2007 BMW X3. I was worried since it was a beemer I'd have issues with some of the features actually working, but I was pleasantly surprised when literally everything worked without any customization or hassle. This is the one and only app you want or need for a Bluetooth OBD2 reader.

The app can feel very clunky at times. It feels like it’s truly not meant for iOS 11 and more for iOS 7.
