I sent many new items that didn’t get listed. They tell me they weren’t in the bag. I have pictures of what was sent. So frustrating and very disappointing. Also, they give you maybe 5% of what they think your item is worth. Sell it online instead.

Not worth it

Me and My Kiddo's Review of Thredup

I’ve purchased approximately 15 items from the site. I returned about half of them because I just didn’t like them. Condition was fine. It’s very hard to get a true picture of the items when there is no description of the material and no photo to show how the item looks on a person. I returned one because the condition was not acceptable. And I should have returned two more because they were sweaters described as “like new“ but each had multiple “pulls“ that I spent entirely too much time fixing. I’m very happy with the remaining items, but overall it has not been worth it. The concept is great! Returns are easy enough. I think I’ll stick to shopping at my local thrift shop with real thrift shop prices and where I can see the true condition of my purchases.

So easy to shop and great deals

I have used this app 3-4 times now to shop. I have not once been disappointed with anything I ordered off this site and the sizes have always fit me just right. You can’t beat the deals you’ll find on here either.I have even used their clean out bag to get rid of my clothing and my kids. The clean out bag was so easy to use when I needed to get rid of some of the clothing that was just never going to get used again.

Not for guys

If you are a guy, this app is not for you, I was like oh wow, I can get some name brand clothes for a reasonable price, after I opened the app, it’s all female or children’s, not men.

Terrible Seller Experience! Beware!

Horrible, slow, unorganized experience from beginning to end. I’ve used multiple platforms as a reseller and this is by far the worst. The app shows a fraction of the functions so I missed out on upfront payout (I thought I wasn’t offered one and it expired). Also when customers use coupons, that is deducted for your selling price (although you get to guess that because it’s not reflected in your account) and often will knock you down to a lower payout commission. Not transparent. Super shady. Emails take for ever to get resolved. Items stagger as they go live and without warning so I had to keep checking my prices because they start them so low. One NWT Escada skirt was already in someone’s cart (for $49) before I could edit the listings to a higher price. Zero rhyme or reason about what they pick (kept 10 year old White House Black Market capris but sent back like new Citizen of Humanity jeans under 1 year old, mint). Horrible overall business model. I will never sell with them again. Oh and they “moved warehouses” and my items were “unavailable” for several days. I’ve seen so many people getting killer upfront buyouts and this was not the case. Make sure to have at least one LUXE item in your bag because they will at least ship the stuff back to you for free and the initial shipping label is free too. You can mix with non luxe and still get benefits if luxe. But literally I’d rather sell on ANY other platform or donate my items than use ThredUp. Again. I could rattle if 10 more things that got messed up but you get the point. The horror stories are TRUE.

Lately it seems like prices have gone up. Also I just sent in a bag to sell and the pay out is ridiculously low for pieces they are selling at 3-4 times the price. I have spent a lot of money on this site, however lately it seems to be going down hill. I think Thredup could profit more from being more fair on payouts and lowering the prices on these so called thrift deals. Do your research because some of the used items are more on this site than the brand new ones on an original site.

Just donate your clothes elsewhere

You send threadup a big bag of clothes and you get little to no money. If you wanna clean your closet take it to a place that you can donate in your local area. I will never use this company moving forward
