Best of the apps! I'd pay for it!! Suggestion: can we have copy text ability? I like to keep list of new words.

I use it at least five times a day and find it excellent in every respect.

I think it’s great! I am a poor speller. The microphone saves me when I can’t get close to the correct spelling by entering my version of how I might spell the word. I usually don’t leave home without my phone but I will always leave home without my dictionary. Thanks

I have used this dictionary everyday for years but never took the time to review it. Shame on me! It has never let me down. The convenience of having one that works offline cannot be overstated. I still have the oversized paper version near my writing desk but invariably I turn to this one first. A big thanks to its developers!

As a whole, this app is substandard. It's not user friendly and as it relates to synonyms, is sorely lacking in content.

I love it! The AED is the best dictionary app that I've found. I often go to it to find words not included in other dictionary apps.

NOOOOO!! DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS APP!! Please... Return this App to a functional Dictionary! This is driving me crazy!! In searching for a word that I could not recall, except that it begins with OU... I hit the OUT spot and there are HUNDREDS OF FRICKING ENTRIES for the word OUT! LU-DI-CROUS!!! !! 😡🤬😡 PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!!! THIS ISN’T GOOGLE SEARCH IT’S A DICTIONARY!!! This Update is HORRIBLE!!! The BOLD print of a few letters is VERY distracting, and NOT helpful in any way! If I type a few letters to search for possible word spellings, or the like, I don’t want to see those few letters hi-lighted! And when searching spellings or words, SCROLLING THE LIST IS NECESSARY! WHY would you drop that feature??? How about spending your time actually updating definitions??!! Instead of destroying the App completely!! I have found many times it is missing common definitions, particularly when a word has several meanings. & The Thesaurus is sorely lacking!! VERY ANNOYED WITH THIS APP!!! 😡 PLEASE Return this to a functional Dictionary!!!

It has almost every word I question. I know it's great but I don't feel like it's perfect. Which is perfect.

I have been using this app for a few years, and I finally got sick of the “Review now, Ask Me Later” dialogue box enough to post a review: It’s a good and reliable dictionary app. I have three total dictionaries on my iPhone, because no single app is enough; although I’ve had this one longest. It has the nice, desirable feature of speaking the word selected. It does a better job than most at providing an accurate pronunciation for most words, but the fault for those words not correctly pronounced is hard to place, as the device itself might often own the blame. I like the feature of inputting first few characters of word during search, which avoids lost time for searching out words that spelling is unknown. I mean, in all but a few cases, I search for spelling purpose more often than definitions. In cases I want definition, it provides good and detailed information, plus derivatives. I like it, use it often and recommend it. I only give four stars because I have yet to see a dictionary app that is good enough to rate all five...But this one gets top spot.

I have been using this for 10+ years! No matter what mobile platform I use, one of the must-have apps is this dictionary. Especially recommend it for those who prepare for GRE.

Has many definitions, all available offline too!

Takes too many taps to initiate a search. But after that, it's awesome. The entire English vocabulary in your pocket. All cross-linked with full etymologies. Did I mean stationary or stationery? Lie or lay? Compliment or complement? It's all here.

The absolute best app. For people that enjoy reading or expanding their vocabulary and can't spell as good as when they were younger; this is a must have. Well worth the price. Thank you!

This is my go to reference. I play a lot of word games and I need the Advanced English Dictionary to keep me informed. So glad I got it.

Quite useful application. Definitions come with a full background of words' origins and uses. The fact that includes the pronunciation of each word is very instrumental for me, since english is my second language.

Great app! Gets the job done! I use it every day.

As a child I was taught to "look it up". I learned that my parents were not always going to give me the answer or guess the answer. Later guessing wasn't satisfactory to me either, so I bought my very own dictionary and thesaurus on campus. This dictionary is even more than I expected and a joy to search, even medical terms are defined. At 69 and disabled I spend even more time reading and studying. Word origins are an interest of mine and are included in this app. Get it.

Only one I use

I have had this dictionary for a short time, but I am impressed with its coverage of all words. It also allows you to look at all the words following the one you looked up. I think it is a great dictionary & would recommend it.

We use this app mostly when we’re playing games and it really is the best and easiest one to use. Love that I can scan down the page for interesting words instead of flipping through words. Don’t use it for pronunciation though. Husband also has it on his phone!

This is beyond definition or synonyms. If you're a writer, it'll move your recognitions toward relevance.

The lexicon is surprisingly complete for an app that isn't cloud-based. The writing is succinct and the presentation elegant but not flashy. My one criticism would be the search button, which is small and sequestered in the top bar despite the fact that you have to tap it to look up words, which is the whole purpose of the app. Consider the floating action button from Material Design.

If you truly want a good dictionary to build up your vocabulary, you should get this one. Also, it offers you the best pronunciation.

I love this app and use it all the time. It is great I love being able to hear the words spoken. Except I have this one issue against it: when I click to search a word I want the search field to be blank as if prepared for my new search not to display the last-searched term. It requires me to click the “x” to clear out the search field which is frustrating.
