Appthinker's Review of Acrobits GroundwireReviewed on 9/18/19 1:55 PM
I given this 5 stars because it is feature rich and saves me $25 bucks each month off Ring Central. Yes. That’s right. I use alliance phone as my voip provider (GROUND WIRE isn’t a stand-alone) and Alliance hasn’t yet made their own mobile app.. but with GROUNDWIRE (which is a 1 time payment...and can be purchased on android, as well), I have all the features that I pay for! (I also tried and like Bria but it has less customization, I found, and is a per-month subscription. Also, voice is not improved in Bria that I can tell). Transfer calls on the go! ... I MUST be able to transfer! (That’s one feature of many they get right) Thank GROUNDWIRE. Ps. I also like their system vrs Bria ...for how the transfer button is RIGHT in GROUNDWIRE. I ALSO get to have a system that I know works well/quickly for preconfigured transfer numbers to unlimited pre-saved offices. My GROUNDWIRE app does this VERY well, with amazing attention to detail. If I swipe down while on “Favorites” it switches to a typical scrolling contact view, with optional pic/info banner.... I use it for address of our locations and the picture is the location state... Add more favorites by long pressing anywhere! (I just wish there was an easy way to save from here to contacts. (Did I miss it?)...maybe put into contacts first, then add in their awesome favorites panel) If I swipe up again, it goes to these cute little “bubbles”/pic and banner only. I LOVE IT I also like how easy it is to disable an account with just a tap in settings. With all the features in this, I’m not sure why it isn’t a 5 star app ., You shouldknow I bought the additional $10 better voice protocal ...and that set up from my voip provider only took so long because I didn’t understand how. I was new to voip. (Just know that your voip username is PROBABLY a 3 digit extension number, your password will be obtained from signing onto your voip provider homepage/your account... and an email from your provider will have the rest... also check out settings carefully since you will basically be able to figure out the customization on you own or with a quick google search) NOTES on voip providers: consider what you need. I work for a call center. And, currently Unreal MObile doesnt share out voip info so it can’t be used in an awesome app like GROUNDWIRE> but Alliance phones has all the features included for $43

This software used to work well, but the quality has declined a great deal. I started using Bria instead, and I now have a flawless phone system. Groundwire started causing audio problem that I think are related to memory usage, as I noticed that quitting programs fixed the problem. I am giving it two extra stars because it worked reasonably well for two years.

Does not work with iPhone 6. Videos are useless. Preconfigured setups are simply incomplete and don't work with the sip providers. They load a few parameters, not all, and if you want to spend 6 hours doing trial and error you can get it to work, why should you have to? Don't buy.

If I could give this app 0 stars I would. I emailed support about an issue 5 days ago and have gotten 0 response. So disappointed that they market this product as a "Business Caliber" application. That is totally bogus! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I'll start by saying I like the product and have been using it for a couple of years now. What happened in the latests update is that it completely wiped my account settings, forcing me to re-do them (which takes about 20 long minutes). The personalized setting which were tweaked to fit our phone system as well as personal preferences are the result of a couple of years of trial and error. This is definitely laziness and negligence on part of the developers.

Do not download. you won't get your $ back and you can't even figure out how to use the dang thing. I can't believe no one has soemthing easier to use to transfer calls from one cell to the other. That seems pretty basic.

Call recording, Push notifications, support for ZRTP, what more could you ask for?
me-me-now's Review of Acrobits GroundwireReviewed on 9/18/19 1:55 PM
The app works really well. I've used it for pure SIP calls and calls terminating in the PSTN. Call quality is good. I've tried other apps, and Acrobit's software is by far the best available if you want to actually -answer- calls while the app is in the background. That said? ZRTP encryption is turned off by default for inbound calls. It's a hell of a hunt to turn it on, too. This is inexcusable. Outbound ZRTP isn't available at all unless you shell out another $25. You know what? That just means I'll do it from another app--a free one, like Linphone. So the outbound price is just stupid greed--I'd pay a couple of bucks for the convenience of including it, but for $25? It means nobody gets my money. The turned-off ZRTP for inbound calls, though, and the buried setting? What, only geeks deserve private calls? It's pretty lame.
