CurbsideColumn's Review of IscapeReviewed on 9/27/18 4:25 PM
Using an iPad Pro - the fastest iPad Apple makes - this program feels more like MacPaint in 1984 with one disk drive. It is sluggish as heck and doesn’t seem to support panorama shots. You draw and wait. And wait. Honestly I just went into Affinity designer and did the same job but better. There are a few pluses but, overall, I am totally unimpressed. Did I mention how sluggish this app is?
Drewmaw's Review of IscapeReviewed on 9/24/18 9:28 PM

shepherdwatch's Review of IscapeReviewed on 9/22/18 5:40 PM
I cannot use the draw in feature for ground cover. On one iPad, my older one, it works. On my new iPad the picture moves as you try to draw the area you want to fill with grass. Watched the video and tried several different things, but all a waste of time. Great idea but needs work.
Addivb2's Review of IscapeReviewed on 9/2/18 11:52 PM
Decent flower/tree selection but could have way more. I simply look for whatever is similar and shrink to size and color. They have the option to take pic of your plant and upload to the landscape which is great. Too bad they only let you save one photo - if you want to save 2, u have to pay $5/month and way more $$$$ to save unlimited photos.
BelieveThis!'s Review of IscapeReviewed on 9/15/18 7:44 PM
It was good, but now they want an account. It’s getting to be like the old login for every website browser days with apps. I will not support apps that defeat the simplicity of App store and Apple ID integration. All too often, these third parties suffer security breaches. Why do you require an account?
KenFromOC's Review of IscapeReviewed on 9/14/18 4:04 AM
I got this to do some basic fro t yard design to have something to show our HOA for input. I would like to see the ability to skew, distort and use perspective on the hardscape, columns, steps, and wall object. Also many of the objects come with curves, like a curved wall, with a matching straight section to add to it. Maybe all this comes with the pro subscription version? Overall not bad.
PenneyPG's Review of IscapeReviewed on 9/14/18 3:56 PM
While the app is easy enough to use it does beg additional purchases to effectively complete a plan.
houstonaki's Review of IscapeReviewed on 8/7/18 7:40 PM
I am really enjoying using this but I am surprised about the plants that aren’t there like Butterfly bush, flowering spiraeas, japanese forest grass, blue fescues, juncas.... just to name a few. So I did upgrade to the pro package because I’ve been working in a high end garden center for the last 8 years so I know I’ll use it often enough but also because I have quite a few photos of plants that I wanted to add to the database. But every time I try to upload an image it says there is an error and sometimes it closes the app. Would love a fix of this or my money back because that’s the most I’ve spent on an app and if the function I want doesn’t work then ... whiskey tango foxtrot Over all good quality of images that are in the data base.

I was looking for a software to help with the redesign of our property. I thought I would give it a try. It didn’t have all the plants, landscapes etc. so I thought I would cancel my subscription after being in it an hour. It quotes that you get 30 days as a trial period and then after 30 days you will be charged. All my apps wait and give you your 30 day trail period before charging you, ISCAPE doesn’t they take it immediately. They take it the minute you sign up. I was told I would be getting a refund but we are into 8 days and nothing. The customer service person approving my refund said she couldn’t believe that they took it before 30 days. DON’T TRY IT UNLESS YOU ARE OK WITH LOSING THE 100.00+ charge. SHAME ON ISCAPE

I really like this app. Start with an empty photo of your yard then insert from a ready made image from the plants and trees library. Moving things around and modifying the perspective is a snap- very intuitive. If you want planviews use another app.

Paulie-J's Review of IscapeReviewed on 8/10/18 2:39 PM
All I want to do is remove (with the cutting tool) an existing tree that i want to replace and the only option I get is to “clone” the selection. Then as I’m looking for benches, and furniture etc - I’m realizing based on reviews that the YouTube demo must be on the subscription version. Totally misleading and waste of my time - trying to find out why I’m missing all these options. But at least get your basic free app to work!

I’ve made several designs and purchased the pro addition and for the last week, my program won’t pull up or crashes on me. The work I’ve saved comes up with all the items I placed on my landscape scattered all over the place. It’s most upsetting.
JustSomeDudesLandscaping's Review of IscapeReviewed on 6/28/18 2:58 AM
It would be great to be able to pick the angle of the item you are using ( Above look, different angles, and straight on ). Also many more pictures could be added to all of the categories. Another thing that would be nice is filter for certain looks ( Old English, Japanese, Modern, Industrial, Rustic ). The app works to get the point across to customers, but it would be nice to wow them too.
Nolet1990's Review of IscapeReviewed on 6/25/18 1:50 AM
I do landscape design for a living and love this app. Only thing I would suggest is keep updating the content such as Japanese maples; weeping and tall , weeping cherry trees, etc. overall solid app for what it is, just need to update the data base for Plants as well as types of pavers and maybe make the retaining walls better.
nxtlifenow's Review of IscapeReviewed on 6/23/18 2:48 AM
I want my money back! Crashes, distortions, adds things when I never touched the screen, few second delay when drawing-that is if it even senses the pressure of finger or stylus. My 3 year old isn’t even happy with it.
Free time Relaxing's Review of IscapeReviewed on 6/21/18 2:42 AM
I want what I paid for and not some subscription. This is my second review because for some reason the first isn’t listed. I’m not a business owner but liked using this app for designing my own front yard landscape. With the app I was able to give the HOA something more visual for approval on what my front yard would look like upon completion. I will not pay for a subscription for something I may use once or twice a year. I will now be looking elsewhere for another landscaping app. I will not be recommending this app to my friends and neighbors. Zero stars

Goodbye iTunes money. So much for buying the app. I guess the IRS scammers aren’t the only ones bilking money from people via iTunes cards. Now, I can have 10 bushes. TEN. Oh, what a stellar landscape design THAT would (not) be. Kind of like, “Congratulations. You paid off your mortgage. NOW PAY MONTHLY RENT! So, delete the app. Accept that I have been duped. Realize that I can get a photo editing software program (even for free) and import pictures of my house and the desired shrubs. FOR FREE! Yeah - maybe a little bit more work. BUT FREE. I bought the original version in Feb of 2017. The past few months it would not update. This morning I decided to look into it and figured out that I was screwed. I already felt ripped off when I bought the full version only to find that there was more to buy if you wanted everything. Now, I have nothing. One response to another review was that they offered a discount on the new app to previous owners (apparently we didn’t own anything). I could not find where I was ever given an offer for a discount. The proper thing would have been to grandfather in owners of the original app because they purchased the app before it was a subscription model. Very bad business in my opinion! Since my review the original app has been restored. I’m glad the developers made the decision to do the right thing.

I enjoy using iScape to help design my backyard landscaping. The options to chose from are endless. Shrubs, trees, flowers, hard scrapes, stones, mulch, ponds, fountains and so much more. I just took a picture of the area and used it in iScape to give me ideas. I would like many feature for iScape to make suggestions for the area I photographed. I am no expert but do have an eye for design so having that option would be like having your personal landscaper! Fun app!

I too paid for all of the images and recently logged in and found out the change of platform. I asked someone to contact me about this change and never received a response. Very disappointed in the customer service and the business practices. You don’t sell a service. You sold a product. One time purchase. Made money then decided it wasn’t enough. Companies like you are the reason I became a business owner. Offer something you can’t provide and when it comes due to collect you change business names and move. Seriously don’t buy this junk. It won’t be around long enough to depend on!!!!

I haven’t paid for the upgrade yet, but plan to use this when I get my first place. I am interested in flipping properties and think this save me so much money rather than paying a landscaper. I hate having to look up common landscaping plants and love the way the app has photos and names of the most commonly used plants in landscaping. This makes it easier to orders seeds, bulbs, or live plants from a catalog when they are on sale rather than buying what is on sale locally just because it is on sale.

Though I realize that it is hard to have EVERY plant in the database I think if there was a “region” package or download so I could say “I only want plants that are native, common, or would thrive in Texas” and I get that list. Otherwise the app is pretty solid.
schancock's Review of IscapeReviewed on 3/26/18 1:33 PM
The app would be useful but the subscription model simply is not going to be worth it to anyone. Would have been better off simply to charge to save extra designs or to access certain plants. I know everyone is into the recurring subscriber model but I simply am not going to pay for an app I only really want to use once... oh well

Lathegirl's Review of IscapeReviewed on 3/24/18 5:29 PM
I have the earlier version and like many others on here, was upset to learn that I will have to pay more to update. I might find it worthwhile if I knew up front what I would get for my money. The previous version gave a limited supply of plants, MANY of which cannot grow in my cold Wisconsin climate (Zone 4). You may now have that option but I don’t want to pay a base price to find out. I can say the program is slick, easy to use, and I am willing to pay for if I didn’t feel tricked into being nickeled and dimed.

With your decision to switch to a subscription model, I can no longer access the image packages I purchased in the earlier version of iScape. I opened up my iPad app last week, and found out the hard way (after my design crashed when I tried to save it) that you had abandoned the earlier version I had invested in. It appears you aren’t giving any credit for those earlier investments your customers made. Not only is that a terrible marketing decision, but it shows a lack of integrity and customer loyalty that I think should be pointed out. To add insult to injury you also sent an invalid link asking me to use it to confirm my email. Neither Safari nor Google can open it. You have a good product that deserves at least 4 stars for product development, but companies are judged on so much more than product.

I purchased the app because we have some projects coming up and I wanted to be able to save and keep working with them. I didn't know the $10 only gave you more plant selections and the option to save was another $5. Felt a little underhanded. Wouldn't have purchased if I had known. Needed improvements... build database and input plant info on all selections. HAVE AN "UNDO" button!! One wrong swipe and you are trying to piece stuff back together It would be nice if the data base let you narrow down to zones and sun options so you're not left guessing (the option to filter by zone, sun level, height, width would really be awesome! )

Very simple to use. Very intuitive. I'm a professional landscape artist. I got this app just to test to see if it would be worth the investment for the elite version. At same the time, I tested a few other similar apps. I found that this was the best choice. For about the price of a 1 gallon potted plant I had very effective tool for planning a garden. If you're a novice gardener this app is a very easy way to see the colors you are planning for your garden. If you're a professional check it and decide for your self if it is worth the nominal price for the upgrades.
Nicoollee100's Review of IscapeReviewed on 12/17/18 1:10 PM
After searching all over for a landscaping app to design my backyard I was happy to find this free one. It seemed simple - upload a photo and double tap the plants to add them to your photo. Only, that's not what happened. I uploaded my photo and could never add any of the plants. They just popped up over my photo with a description and then disappeared. I didn't even contemplate paying the money for the upgrade.

Togal's Review of IscapeReviewed on 12/17/18 1:10 PM
The idea is great, but as soon as I uploaded a picture, drew out my area and tried to select the pavers, everything stopped. This app is a total rip off. I wanted to design a portion of my front yard and thought I'd give this a try before hiring a landscape architect. Had to upgrade and upgrade to get any plants trees or functions I thought useful...over $20! Never really worked. I could design some things but I could never save them for comparison with otherdesigns or show them to my wife. App crashed and didn't help to delete and re-install. I tried to "report a problem" to Apple but they wrote I had to take it up with the design company. They wrote me they had never seen the problems I was having. I wrote back twice asking for a refund but never heard a thing. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP! I wish I could give it a ZERO

I used this app a few months back and loved it. Very user friendly then. I finally got my flower bed cleaned out so I could really use this app. I had to start over with my design which was fine. I was using the provided credits. It froze up and then when I reopened the app all the credits were still used but it wouldn’t let me use any of the designs I’d previously put the credits towards. It was a total waste of my time.

Very nice and easy to use product - I would give it 5 Stars - but a bit too expensive - the cost should be included in the ‚up-front‘ explanation & example. $20,- /month or $199,-/year. For companies its worth it - for individual home garden design and use - too much. Thx

ExoticDelerium's Review of IscapeReviewed on 12/1/18 12:47 PM
I know my way around design apps. I am proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop. The issues I constantly had with this app are: I can’t lock layers. I want to be able to select and move an object, or resize the screen, without accidentally selecting and moving the grass or some other ground coverage, which is then 99% impossible and very time consuming to put in the correct spot again Auto save. Having to hit save every 5 minutes in case your phone dies, or you forget to save and close the app is silly. I did not find the crop tool shown in the instruction video. I do like that the objects blend into the photo nicely. I also like the option to edit the color and lighting of each object. Overall, fun app. Great for visualizing your perfect landscape. Not enough features to tempt me to purchase the app.

This app is easy to use, unlike some other garden apps I test drove, but the trade off is that it is really just a toy. You can’t do much with the free version (unless your garden has fewer than 10 plants in it, in which case you probably don’t need an app to keep track of them), so I sprang for one month of the pay version to play around with. This provided some mild entertainment for a couple of hours, particularly because of the cool feature that lets you take a photo of your existing landscape and add plants to it. But, ultimately, it is just not a useful tool. The in-app plant catalog is so limited that I had to identify surrogates for virtually everything I wanted, and the lack of any sizing function meant it took a lot of fiddling around to make similarly tall plants appear about the same height. Even this step involved referencing other sources, as the in-app plant descriptions tended toward the sparse side. The only reason I think anyone would want to keep an ongoing subscription to this is because they forgot to tell the App Store to discontinue it (which is, unsurprisingly, not as straightforward a process as it should be).

Very good app, this is what I was looking for.

User friendly and informative. I wish the pro price was more economical for the novice landscaper/gardener. I wish there were tips for soil & weeds. But overall I am happy with the app.

I will change my review once I can figure out if I am doing something wrong ... I copied one plant 5 times in to my landscape ... then did that with a second plant and it keeps telling me I must upgrade to a pay version because I have 10 layers ... what am I doing wrong?

It helps give ideas but the angles and depth of pathways etc limits what you can add. Also, I’d rather buy a cluster of additional options than a monthly subscription. A subscription is just something else I have to remember to opt out of later. Companies that hook you with automatic monthly billing knowing you’ll farget to cancel piss me off. Just let me buy what I want to use and leave my money alone, Gdamnit

You have to pay to add more than 10 layers, and add more variety of plants.
