A monthly or yearly subscription to make something as simple as a cinemagraph is ridiculous.

That’s literally it. What a waste of 14$
haveben's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 9/27/18 4:25 PM
Granted, this is both unique and good quality app, but not worth a subscription to use on iPad or iPhone. I mean, what “professional” photographer is actually going out to shoots and saying, hang on... I need to make sure my iPhone is charged for the shoot. No, it is just the average person using an iPad or iPhone to take photos or videos and I doubt it is enough to justify a monthly or yearly subscription. I read a few other reviews mentioning something similar to the point I make. They suggest making a “reasonable” one-time charge like Affinity. I put my vote in with them. I would be willing to shell out $30 - $40 for a one-time charge for iPhone and iPad use. I have a Nikon D7000 camera and like to shoot photos as a hobby about two or three times a year. Having experience using the app on my iPad and iPhone might develop enough interest for me to want to get a subscription to incorporate shooting cinema graphs on my shoots. Using the app to play around with on my mobile devices would be more apt to tempt me to want to get the desktop app and a subscription than not having any experience with it at all. (That is all I am saying...) :-)
BronxLens's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 9/26/18 2:33 PM
The big boys (Adobe, etc) can ask for monthly subscriptions, but for an iPh app? Consider giving users the option to pay a fixed amount for the entire app or other. Until then, the search continues...

It is unfortunate that mobile software has taken this turn to a subscription model, especially for small apps like this that do one thing. This app is a tool, and is not at all worth the very steep subscription pricing model. There are other apps that do this for free. It is really not worth it.

I tried it once and loved what it can do, however, there is a watermark unless you want to shell out $15 a month to subscribe. For the everyday user, this is a little expensive. I deleted the app. Wish i could have used it.
ImNotRice's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 8/4/18 6:41 PM
If it wasn’t for the dumb watermark, this would be 5 stars, because of the watermark is there, the whole entire photo is ruined. You have to pay just for some other features people don’t want and to remove the watermark? That’s dumb in my opinion, so the removing the watermark should be free.
Buddhagem's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 8/4/18 12:34 PM
Overpriced app that requires a monthly subscription. The app seems well made but the free version is worthless unless you like a hideous watermark on your images. The paid version starts at $15 a month and goes up. I can’t imagine how I could use this app enough for it to be worth this much money. Good luck to the greedy developers.

Christopher433's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 8/3/18 9:42 PM
**** this app. The watermark is terrible! They need a better watermark, not those birds that makes the video so annoying. Also, 60% of people say this app is trash, I’m one of them. And also pay 300 dollars to remove the watermark for a year? Unbelievable, these developers are obsessed of money, not the app, of course! If those people won’t fix this then this app will be rated a single star. Better make this app better or else it’s going to be like that. Also, this needs an undo/redo button. This is annoying as you need to close the app and then go do the video again. Those people care about money, not the app. No hate.

Too bad, this app has great features and potential. But I spend less on both Spotify or Netflix per month than this app is asking for with arguably far less value to offer. If it had a better pricing structure, it’s easily 4 or 5 Stars.
mer_cat's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 8/1/18 7:21 PM
It’s a lot of work just to get one perfect photo. I don’t wanna buy a tri pod just to get one photo. The watermark is a little crazy. It should be small and in the corner but it’s all over the whole picture. I think they should shrink the watermark or just make it go away. Just cause you can make pro looking photos doesn’t mean the watermark should cover the whole picture. It’s really hard to take one cool photo but some photos you work hard on turn out really cool. But it’s so much work for someone lazy like me lol trying to get a cool photo. But if you have the determination and patience this is probably a good app for you.
Onion-man's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 8/1/18 6:26 AM
Everything is OK. The only problem I found of this APP is that every time when I try to save my work as Live Photo, the app would always crash down and quit automatically.
kateoconnorbes's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 7/9/18 4:52 AM
So close to five stars because it works great but I am NOT a fan of doing all the work to get a great photo and THEN become told I have to pay $15 a month (at the least, smallest package) to get the non- water marked version & no... it’s not a small water mark. It’s almost a grid over the entire photo. I wanted to include this app in my next blog post so bad but I’m not paying that much ..

OfflinePlayerOnly's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 7/6/18 7:17 PM
The only real way to use this app is to pay for a monthly subscription, the cheapest being $15. Most people are not going to need to use the app at mass levels; it completely takes the fun away, having to commit to something like that. I could see subscribing if you are going to use it frequently and need extra features, but there should be a way to use it to jazz up your vacation photos, etc.
admod08's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 7/6/18 11:41 AM
App takes YOUR OWN PERSONAL videos, and ADDS THEIR OWN WATERMARK over YOUR OWN copyrighted (yes you took pic you automatically own the copyright) content! All for using their app and will not remove THEIR watermark from YOUR personal COPYRIGHTED PROPERTY UNLESS YOU PAY THEM FOR IT! Holding your PERSONAL images for ransom!
O'Doyle398's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 7/5/18 5:43 AM

Does the subscription really have to cost THAT much for casual? I need like one that’s .99 cents a month...maybe a fixed limit on how many you can make??? I just wanna be artsy but the app is super easy to use and really self explanatory. If not for the price, I’d be signed up. This is a cool app, but the price is absurd for the average user. I can see it for people who use it professionally, but there’s no way I will pay $100 per year to post a couple of cool Instagram photos a month. Maybe a $5 app that allowed you to remove the watermark from up to 3-5 photos per month for basic users? These subscription models are getting out of hand.

katereviewingapps's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 7/29/18 8:57 PM
At first I was just a little confused on how to use the app. I discovered “cinemagraph” via Apple’s recommendation on the home page of the App Store. I figured the app would be fun to play with and it absolutely was. Within a few minutes of playing around, I propped my phone up, recorded a short video of a pool, and ended up having a really cool still-shoot where the only thing in the frame moving was a few flags in the foreground. I love the clip and can’t wait to share it. Also, unlike most apps, you can still get a great product with or without paying for premium features. Plus, there weren’t any pesky ads I ran into while creating my clip! Great app. 5 stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
mrtitanicbuff's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 7/29/18 6:37 PM
Yeah. I see no need to subscribe $14/month for this. Even at $100/year. It’s a cool app but there are a lot of cool apps out there. Just so I don’t have my images watermarked by your logo? I don’t see the point. Charge a one time app fee like the better apps do (ie. PhotoPills)

I used to love Adobe Apps, when they sold it as a bundle and no montly/yearly subscriptions. But when they got greedy and introduced monthly subscriptions, i started looking for alternatives and found Affinity. Affinity offers one time payment and limetime upgrades atleast as of now. And hence they got me to invest in their apps. If cinemgraph could also eliminate this subscription sh!t, i would love to buy this app for a reasonable price immediately. Perhaps, its time you guys need to interact with users and find a solution to requests that we users have been asking. Eliminate the subscription and provide one time payment to buy this app for a reasonable price. For this reason alone, i rate it a single star. Come back with user's request and m sure many would love to rate it a 5.
ChrisE1G's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 7/29/18 1:26 AM
This app uses masking on videos. That’s all. If you are paying this dev the money he’s asking for, you are getting properly ripped off. Pro tip: You can do all this a whole lot cheaper. As much as I loved this app and made several cinemagraphs using it, it always hits me hard at one point. When it originally came out, the watermark was big but not as annoying as the new one which takes off into the entire frame. These guys behind the app are pretty genius and did an excellent job at marketing it at first. Now, it all was history. I posted them all with the watermark since the beginning. A commoner too can have a way with a professional app… Don’t be greedy guys
KingTaco619's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 7/17/18 4:22 AM
To the developers: would you consider an option to allow People to pay individually for each watermark free render? It seems a lot of people enjoy this app but don’t feel a need to use it enough to want to shell out $15. I totally understand this is a professional tool but if you want to appeal to causal users, you really need to consider a casual price point. Perhaps .99-$1.99 for one render... or $5.00 for 3. Etc. Something to consider. Otherwise consider low-res option with smaller, less obtrusive watermark that lets your branding be displayed on social media sites without blocking the whole image. As it is, no one is using this to post on IG because of the watermark... and most people on IG aren’t paying $15 for access to an app for a month. Just saying...respectably. Cheers.

stuconry's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 6/17/18 7:45 PM
After the first month you realize you could have bought almost any editing software you’d ever want. You could also do what this app does plus way more...THEN, you’ll forget about it (because you haven’t used it in 11months) and a year after you originally made a bad decision you’ll get charged for it all over again. If that’s not infuriating enough, the customer service is not existent.

There was a theory that if an app had an insane price it was because the developer also had the general user version for a sane price. So… no sanity, no wisdom here. Struggling to bring in those subscribers, pissing off the majority and driving them to other apps that are 1/1000th of the cost to own as the annual subscription. Maybe they're not as good, maybe they're half as good now but they'll improve. In the meantime, sane, savvy and wise users will combine them with other apps and not be robbed. No way will I buy in to your overpriced subscription model. Nope. Most people won't. It's offensive.

300 dollars. Really. For a watermark. Really. This is what happens when a greedy psychopath builds apps. Really. Sheesh. It’s just a fun app to play with. It is not changing the world. It is not changing the way films will be made. It is not important. Lighten up, come back down to reality, and realize that you made an app and that’s all it is. And if you were smart, rather than greedy, make removing the watermark 5 bucks. Wouldn’t you make more money if millions paid 5 bucks rather than 8 people spending 300? Just my opinion. Really.

Price breakdown: $300 - JUST to remove flixel watermark. $200/year - for the mobile and desktop version of the app and access to a cloud drive and website you’ve probably never heard of or will ever use. This app/ service is completely overpriced. I doubt professionals use the app enough to justify this price but your average consumer who simply want to create a cool new image on the fly? Nope. For what it’s worth, this app is cool. Cinemagraphs look awesome and the app is great at creating them. But for this price? I’m good. No thanks. RobertLG1990's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 11/10/17 10:56 PM
Absolute ripoff. The videos are useless because of a giant watermark on every one. To remove the watermark, they exhort you for $300! Unbelievable. Do not buy or support this product.

Too much greedy Adobe. There are other apps.
DJChill85's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/9/18 4:28 AM
This app may have all the wonderfully touted features that are easily accessible behind a sleek design and from what I tinkered with, it does seem so. However, I completely agree with the absurd water mark and price tag the aforementioned users have essentially all complained about. Doesn’t seem they listen to their user base, which is typically the downfall of most start ups. I’m not a professional photographer but I do diligently utilize Adobe creative software on my MacBook and I enjoy seeing the strides iOS has made in photo/video editing over the years. I also have no qualms with paying for a quality app, even a subscription based one. Hell I do it with Enlight:Photofox. However, Light Tricks first app, Enlight, was a one time $5 purchase which was enough to get me to fall in love, then their new one came out at a heavy price tag I normally would ignore for iOS at $10 a month (still 5 bucks cheaper than this) and guess what? No obtrusive watermark on anything for starters, you can also use it free, (it’s just light on features) aaaaand they gave me a one month trial to check it out. None of these apply to this joke of an app. I know Photofox is much different, as it’s a photo editing app specifically, but my point is that Light Tricks methods, focus on the average consumer while maintaining a quality app that pros, rich, beginners, and poor alike can utilize its rich features however they choose. This is what made me a forever customer of Light Tricks. They too, have a video editing app, and guess what? It’s cheaper (shocking. I know.). Since they aren’t as greedy as you guys and allow their users to try it before they buy or use it at a reasonable price or use it for free WITH NO ABSURD WATERMARK....I’ll stick with them. You guys should pay attention to what users are saying. You guys may have quality and marketing teams utilizing your tools in their advertising solutions, but for the everyday user....we don’t care. I see the mobile plan, good job dropping the price to meet the mobile audience, but the thing is...that should have been the immediate concern for your marketing team. Nobody pays that kind of money for a mobile app and especially one trying to break through to the iOS world. Then, it’s laughable that even AFTER the price drop for mobile it’s STILL that expensive for the casual consumer. Who heads up your marketing team? Donald Trump? Look, Mobile is different than PC software, even Adobe figured that out and made their apps free and they are the biggest money vacuum in thid industry. If a giant like Adobe is doing that, I am most certain you guys can too....bcz you’re crazy if you’re going to tell me that your technology and development is more advanced and warrants that price tag. Anyways, that’s my feedback/review. Not like it’ll be taken to heart since it seems you’ve been ignoring users needs for a while now....so good luck to you. To my fellow users, don’t waste your time just bcz they have a pretty lookin App Store feature to mislead you. It’s a total disappointment.

Got this app a few months ago when it was on discount. It used to be one version without a watermark but they decided to now make it a subscription model, which makes my purchase useless. The app works well but it’s not worth the money. You can do all of that easily in any Movie editor in minutes. Don’t fall for it.
The Bamajr's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/9/18 2:30 PM
This app does everything it promises to do, however it is way too expensive. I’d use and recommend this app if it was $19.99 a year, but at 299.99 a year, the company is just being stupid. A LIFETIME Commercial License for Graphitii is only $67.00 and it does everything this app does. That is a savings of $232.99

Can't remove water mark without monthly subscription. Fun features, but I'm not paying the same price as a Netflix subscription to remove a watermark for pics I want to share with just friends and fam...
ChrisE1G's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/8/18 8:09 PM
People, you are getting ripped off. This app uses masking on videos. That’s all. If you are paying this dev the money he’s asking for, you are getting properly ripped off. Pro tip: You can do all this a whole lot cheaper. Don’t fall for these scams, check the prices on all the other software out there that does what this does (and much more).

I appreciate this app but man it’s too expensive to unlock all of these features.

Nobody wants an extra bill every month for an app , and lower the flat rate price nobody ever need something like this ..... phony
appstorereview101's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/8/18 3:16 PM
The app won’t even open, and doesn’t have that x at the top left for me to delete it. Now I just have to keep an app there that I can’t even open to use.
Skellt's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/8/18 2:55 AM
Subscriptions are not the right model for fun apps like this one. It needs a pay once, use forever version that is stripped down. Just get rid of literally everything except record, trim, select still frame, and mask. That’s all the casuals want to do anyway.
KCDude14's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/8/18 10:08 PM
I can enter the info for a new account, but the “signup” link in the upper right corner can never be used because it’s greed out. Completely unusable app if you can’t ever advance beyond the sign up screen!!
SkeeveC's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/3/18 9:29 PM
Like others, I found this app cool and easy to use but then realized there is a subscription fee in order to save without watermarks all over the image. For casual fun use, $15 a month or $100 a year is way too much. Only someone using these images for a business might be willing to pay as much as an Adobe Photoshop subscription for this app. No thanks. I’ll be looking for another mobile app or do the same thing in After Effects on my computer.
Bahahsvakiaban's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/26/17 3:17 AM
Absolutely terrible. Watermark blows. Price blows. App is awesome, however $199???? You have to be out of your mind.

Cool app but this is outrageous 199!?!?!?!? This is not cool. What a shame
Kali4nia's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/25/17 3:33 AM
This is an amazing app! The price is absolutely bonkers though. I would never pay that much up front for any app. And I don’t need it for my computer or anything else! I just want it for my iPhone/iPad and if the price was a monthly $9.99 like Adobe I would totally do it. Rethink the pricing and you would have many more customers!
IT Manager's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/2/18 4:36 PM
It may or may not work well. My complaint is there is nothing in the description that indicates this is based on a _very_ expensive annual or more expensive monthly plan. I never would’ve wasted time downloading and installing if this works even hinted at in the description.

For $4.99, your amazing pic will have a watermark across the middle of the picture. The mark is not faint either. It can be removed for the low low price of $199 per year. A price that is awfully steep for your basic social media photographer.

M 100s effing dollars for watermark removal???? Whooooooo! It is a ripoff. Many other company charged $0.99 to $3.99 for logo/watermark removal is very reasonable price. Sorry to say I'll have to uninstall this app and move on to Final Cut Pro on PC. Best to stay away until they drop the logo/watermark removal fee.
Batman2287's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/10/18 3:51 AM
I gave 3 stars generously because of the concept. I absolutely HATE that you have to have a subscription for the watermark to go away. It is absolutely USELESS with the watermark. I will absolutely NOT Have another monthly charge to pay for an app. Make it a one time purchase and maybe I’ll do it. But I am about to completely delete this app. It is useless to me right now.
Jerimiahf's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/10/18 3:17 AM
Spend it on a real editing program as this is overpriced and not worth a fraction of the cost they actually expect people to pay for it.
Tina Arlene's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 10/1/18 2:07 PM
To fully use the app you need to pay a monthly or yearly amount. The free option doesn’t allow much since the cinemagraph has a watermark all over it. They should consider allowing a small fee per cinemagraph to remove watermark for people who won’t use the app enough to warrant a monthly payment. Disappointing!

It’s a whole new perception
ChrisE1G's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 1/5/18 8:25 PM
The app is quite basic in some areas. Actually never mind. I’m no stranger to paying higher prices for certain things then you normally see on the AppStore. Working with DAWs (Auria, Cubasis etc) on iOS is amazing today, because the apps are great, plugins/instruments are desktop quality, both small devs and large companies get along really well (they actually communicate with each other *GASP!*). Look at that part of the AppStore, how are they able to feed their kids without subscription plans for their apps? Ok, I really don’t know as I’m not a dev (but they don’t seem to suffer). I do know the subscription route just killed a big player on the desktop, Cakewalk. They’ve been around since at least the early 90s making DAWs and instruments. Trying to make a living of one single app on the AppStore by using a subscription model...I dunno...Will be interesting to see how long it’ll work. Why am I giving one star though? Coz this ain’t no $300 app (yet).

Wow how greedy and delusional! Listen here, you're not Adobe or Microsoft office ok, relax, you a bit waaay ahead of yourself. Your greedy business model is ridiculous. You should much rather aim for $30 per version. Bring out a version, then charge for next version, but something tells me you already out of ideas and bargaining on you 299 price. Get real.

Come on guys... not even a monthly option
Focused8's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 1/23/18 3:23 AM
Great app, but the price isn’t even remotely competitive for what it offers. I can create something very similar in other video and image editing apps that are far less expensive. The process might take a few more steps, but the results are close enough. There is no reason to charge this much for what amounts to a fancy gif app but with a few more controls. It’s a nice product, but I’ll stick to doing these images in other apps for a fraction of your asking price.
Urubu171's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 1/22/18 10:37 PM
$300 for a license, otherwise there is a watermark on the middle of your video! Stay away!
Raindrizzle's Review of Cinemagraph ProReviewed on 1/21/18 6:07 PM
Honestly, who is going to pay $200 a year to remove a watermark on their very basic cinemagraph video? Super disappointed. If I wanted an app for my computer I’d buy it there. All I want is a simple app for my iPhone. Would have been willing to pay, but not that much.
