I love this app. It does what it says it will, I can downsize my images as well as upsize, so easy, so good. I don't know what I did before I got this in terms of managing space on my iPad

Works well to read very high-resolution nautical charts

I wanted an app that up-sized my images to work on in other apps and to print out. I have used 400 X 400k images and tripled them in size, as well as 3500 X 3500k images doubling them and while nothing available as an app works as well as pro software, this app is amazing!

The app is good, had it for longtime. However, today I bought Batch option, Gold, but the app is crashing when trying to use. Tried to find some mail for support, but they send only to site, site asks to log in to wordpress to post comments etc. Difficult and frustrating for a bug reporting. Developer should be more attentif with this aspect.

I love this app. The upscaled photo quality is amazing.

I’m an artist and I’m always needing to resize my photos for various sites- This is the easiest way to do it that I’ve found! Fabulous! My only issue is that I would like to be able to say where to save the new image and for it to be more obvious when it is saved. Other than that it’s perfect!

The only thing I will mention or have a very small complaint about is, the image will not rotate in landscape mode when using the 7, 8 plus iPhone. The image will rotate on the iPad, but not the phone. For landscape photo formats, I’d like to be able to turn my iPhone on its side and view the image that way, but the app and image will not rotate. Can this be fixed soon?

This app is a lot of fun for the creative work I try to do.

I've seriously never had a developer respond to my review or fix an issue I mentioned. Big Photo devs updated this 2 days after responding about the white edges and it IS better! I had noticed it and thought maybe I was wrong til I came to fix the review and saw there had been a reply...and update! Amazing app. Amazing developers! Old Review: I thought I'd reviewed this already but guess not. Big Photo is regarded by the photo community as an essential app, and deservedly so. It's ability to upscale pics with tiny resolution is the number one reason I use it, but it does so much more. I love that I can zoom in down to the pixel and crop from within the app. I also love that after I upscale it automatically saves the new photo with higher resolution, and keeps it open so I can just upscale again if I choose. I have one tiny complaint: for some reason I've noticed white edges on the majority of photos after upscaling or cropping and saving to the gallery. This can be cropped again in the photos app, but it is a minor annoyance. Idk if it's been doing this or I just noticed it a few days ago. I should add that I'm on iPhone 5s and still on iOS 10.3 (due to other apps I want not being updated that I'm scared won't work if I update, though I know I'll need to eventually). Perhaps it's just my older OS? I've heard others say the dpi can't go above 72? I'm not sure about that, though I can set the dpi to whatever I want and I've printed photos that started with super low resolution (500x600) upscaled to 2000x3000, printed on an 11x14 inch canvas, and it came out beautifully with zero noise or pixelation. So if there is some limit of "72" somewhere, it doesn't hinder that app's ability to upscale tiny photos without any loss of quality. Seems almost magical, what Big Photo does. I know of no other app on iOS or android that does this and does this so well (speaking of android, sure would love to see this app on that platform). If the white edges were fixed it would go back to 5 stars. As it is, it's a 4.8. I always have it in my digital camera bag🎨😊👌

UPDATED REVIEW TOP Hi can you fix how it won’t update what’s in the camera roll when one has upwards of 75,000 plus photos it almost never sees the last one in the roll and I have to delete and reinstall over and over. Also can you make an automatic type of 7680 x 4320 8K UHDTV Super Hi-Vision up Res setting PLEASE as a standard- but one that will also interpolate the pixels as much as possible and try to clean them up by adding more dpi? I do a TON of zooming up to over 199% after already doing the above resize to smaller pics for which a higher res image is unavailable but after that it crashes REPEATEDLY- I used to have an app on the Mac that did this it was zoom pro or something and it did up to four thousand xZooms with the huge interpolation and smoothing without crashing with up resing and THAT would make this a ten star app. Don’t take this as AnY less than a 5star review for normal users this is strictly for tv pan and scan zooming and I will update if added with a five star review. THANKS! Old Review I must have panicked when I said one can no longer save as 3000 dpi— id like as a TV editor to be able to save as 3000 ppi and at a way larger image size for Zooms and pans of stills on HD plasma screen TVs or the large sized film movie screen sizes - that’s what we have to do with still images in film and tv - also please bring back the saved preset settings? Or did I miss this too cuz I’m panicked and on a dead line? If so I’m a tard and all apologies- Thanks, great app other than all that, cheers!

I can’t seem to find a way to save my pictures. There is also no explanation to how.

I will say it took me a little bit to figure out how to do one thing I was trying to do. But once I figured it out, the app worked flawlessly and did exactly what I needed it to do.

***Update*** September 7 2018 I still love this app very much, but I would like to make a request. The only thing that I don’t like is if I have multiple pictures to look at. I have to then go down and tap on the picture and then go to camera roll and then tap a picture. I would much rather maybe swipe down from the top maybe where I chose the last picture or swipe left and right to go between pictures that I have. Thank you. I’ve wanted an app like this for a long time. I can zoom in more than I would ever need to and double tap the screen to get the picture to go straight back to full screen. Pictures that I to with my pro camera allowed me to zoom into my eye and actually see the color of my eyes in such high definition and the camera was about 30 feet when I took the picture of me and my wife. I was able to zoom in and see the tip of one of my hairs in my eyelash and still zoom in. I love this app. Thank you!

I use this daily. It is a must have if you edit any photos on any iDevice. It has the best cropping and resizing tools. Period. All of this without losing quality of the photo. It can handle very large resolution as well. I edit all of my husband's photo's taken with his Nikon. The app is very stable and has a simple interface to use. I cannot recommend this enough!!!

This app is an essential tool for me when I want to check the smallest details of photos.

I have an iPad Pro that just recently updated to IOS 12... the app keeps freezing to where I can’t move throughout the picture. Please fix :(

Sometimes your photos cannot be printed as the same image you see on your phone, but big photo gives you a way to create sizes you need.

Resize & crop also retain best possible quality. Exif also the best. Plain UI, but works great!

I like this app but I have trouble changing photos or accessing the menu. I have to close the app and reopen it to access a new photo. Is there a tech support email to discuss this problem?

I have used Big Photo for several years. It is one of the first apps I install when upgrading iPads. I use it weekly at a minimum. Big Photo can do many things, do them to really large files, and can do them in batch mode, too. In particular, I use the "check and/or change dpi" and the "check/resize" functions. (It is hard to believe that Apple STILL doesn't include pixel size in the Photos app!). It can crop images and I will go here to crop instead of struggling to do an accurate crop in some apps. I prefer to do these simple functions in a small, fast app rather than opening up a really big memory sucking, convoluted app that wants me to create a "Project" and keep the image loaded when all I want to do is see how big a photo is. If this sounds like a useful tool for you, I can strongly recommend it.

This is an excellent tool to increase the pixels in a photo especially before editing. I was not aware of the app until I joined an online photo group. Those members whose posts always grabbed my attention touted Big Photo. I quickly saw why when I started using the app. I am an amateur photographer but Big Photo has enabled me to achieve truer edits. It is very easy to use and I have not had any problems with it in over a year of use.

I purchased the app for three dollars. I went to use the batch resize today and now I have to pay three dollars again to use that function. What a deceptive practice and rip off.

This superb photo viewing app allows you to zoom all the way into your photos - to the pixel level. I have not found any other photo viewer that allows users to zoom in as much. And, this app has never crashed during years of use (other apps limit zooming, by claiming the app will crash - nonsense). "Big Photo" makes for a huge improvement when looking closely at images. Additionally, this developer cares about their users; they make improvements as needed to ensure a flawless experience!

I use BigPhoto all the time for checking size and resolution. I found out through painful trial and error that many iPad apps will downsize my high resolution photos, either the dimensions or resolution or both! If you’re printing images or creating artwork to spec this is disastrous and disheartening to realize that you’ve just worked for hours to create something you’re happy with, only to export it back to your computer or to your POD company and find out the output size is way lower resolution than you started with. BigPhoto has helped me out so much in that respect. Now I can see before I waste my time which apps are going to output at a resolution that I started with. It’s great at checking all kinds of details but it can do so much more than that. As I move more of my creative workflow to my iPad I will be using this app even more.

BigPhoto has been my go-to sizing app that I use everyday. Great customer support.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled. App Didn’t request access to photos. I have gone through iPhone settings. Big Photo app isn’t an option to give access to my photos. Can not access photos through other files either.

I have used this app to increase file size by increasing pixels and for gallery prints at exhibitions. Viewers were astonished when I told them prints were from iPhone. Great job BogPhoto

I don’t know what people do without this app. I’ve been using it for years and wouldn’t be half the photographer I am without it. You can crop the good part of your picture and enlarge it, makes you look like a professional. Thanks for making this and keeping it up to date. It’s awesome.

Full resolution unlimited zooming. Easy resizer and cropper retain full image quality. Now add the video picture discovery feature, good bonus!

It’s so cool to be able to upscale or downscale and crop without having to hassle going into photoshop! Great for downscaling large photos for video work or upscaling to make a small file suitable for enlargement. Because of the laws of physics there will obviously be some limitations but for the most part it works close to as well as the results you’d get from photoshop. Great app!

May '18 Update I still rely upon Big Photo after almost all my size reductions... despite my Jan. review which I updated. It’s a very good app that could be great with a few minor tweaks: 1. Provide in-app problem reporting (could avoid these overly long reviews!) 2. The batch Resizer is useless until I can find a way to use it. Right now apparently it can’t be used for a batch of photos that are different sizes. Having to search for a photo only by Size is cumbersome, time consuming and ultimately not worth the bother. Especially because I can do most of the same things with the OneEdit Pro app in true batch mode much more easily and quickly. After years of use I've never been able to get the batch editor to work. Because I get stuck finding the photos to edit...which apparently is impossible...even if I take the time to discover each photo's pixel size first....I can’t find them in the batch Resizer tool. Conclusion...as a single photo editor it’s a very good app. Sadly, 90% of what it needs to be a great app is already built into it...so, why not finish it and make it great? Repackage it as a new app,with a higher price if you must to recoup your costs...but don’t abandon it and god forbid don’t turn it into a subscription based app, because it’s not unique enough or good enough for that! __________________________________________________________________ January 14, 2018 1 problem is that when you start using a new version the app doesn’t automatically save edited photos to the camera roll. It lets you specify this as an auto-setting...but then that doesn’t function doesn’t seem to work. Nor does saving it from the left hand menu. Doing that just causes the app to crash...at least on iPad 5 (the newest one) with no background tasks running. My first solution was this: I discovered a way to use Pixelmator to do the same function. Pixelmator is slowly becoming the app I use for almost everything! It replaces several of the 32 bit apps I can no longer use. Now I guess it’s replacing Big Photo too. FYI, you can reduce or enlarge any image just by changing its dimensions in Pixelmator! Big Photo Solution But then I found out that you need to use it once before it begins the auto save function...and of course make sure you have that turned to 'on' in settings. _________________________________________________________________ Sometime in 2017 1 Big Problem I Just Found: The app mis-identifies screenshots as JPEG's instead of as PNG's But I still like it! I've only had this app a few days but so far I love it. I've been using it to resize photos and to get accurate sizes and file sizes. It resizes and scales images beautifully without the normal loss of resolution. It's very difficult on an iPad to get accurate files sizes and to easily match the sizes for several images in terms of resolution for combining. But the app is perfect for that too. This app resizes and scales photo's smaller maintaining better resolution than most apps I've tried. Scaling up is impressive too. I also love that the app automatically saves things to my camera roll because this saves me a lot of time when I'm working with many images. 2 warnings however! 1. The app mis-identifies screenshots as JPEG's instead of as PNG's 2. The BATCH RESIZER is a COMPLETE & UTTER WASTE OF TIME & $$ _________________________________________________________________ Below is my first review written early 2017 or late 16 about the paid upgrade...which I did right after getting this app and some quick tests. Don't bother buying the Batch Resizer upgrade...I did...the Gold $2.99 and it's awful. It doesn't really work in batch mode because it presort all your images by size, so unless the pics you want to resize have the EXACT same dimensions...each one has to be done individually. Worse yet, because of this stupid pre-sorting by size option it's virtually impossible to even find the images you want to resize. The Camera Roll, for example, appears as image groups by size...which is randomly displayed so a large sized group right next to a smaller size group...most groups have only 1 or 2 images in them. You can scroll for days and not find what you need to. Then the likelihood that the images you need will be in the same group is infinitesimally impossible! So again, you'll have wasted a ton of time and need to handle each image individually...so the BATCH RESIZER is a COMPLETE & UTTER WASTE OF TIME!

I confused this great app with a bad one. Big Photo does exactly what I needed - made a huge Google Maps image from several overlapping views. Big Photo lets me pinch and swipe to my hearts content. It's about 4k x 1800 pixels. I can see everything down to 1:1. Big Photo is perfect for viewing big photos.

The best app I've found for close viewing my iPhone photos.

Love it for this single purpose: viewing long, vertical-stitched-screenshot panos. Very often I take screenshots and stitch them together (PicStitch). Big Photo allows me to enlarge each individual page/photo for sharp and easy viewing. Can’t find any other use for Big Photo; but for this alone, it’s 5-stars!

Don’t know how this works so well, but it does!
