Works great!

Yep, like others have said the update has rendered my iPad and iPad mini useless as monitors. If I try to view a camera on either the app immediately crashes. The preview window works but when selecting which camera to view it crashes every time. Kinda makes it worthless.

Great application! Well thought out user interface and easy to use. There is never a lag in streaming from another device while on WIFI.

Works much better, but using camera on 4s has a major battery drain. Please fix, if possible.

I have a feral cat that visits randomly so I set up my laptop as the camera and can remote view the sliding glass door on my iphone. I'm impressed with the functionality. One thing I disliked: I had to purchase the pro version on my phone AND on my laptop. So you have to pay for the app twice to have the functionality you want. But, the dev explains this on the website. Overall I really like the app!!

This update really ruined a previously fairly solid app. Connections is now very unreliable. In fact you can pretty much guarantee that connection will fail to be established most of the time. Screen dimming also doesn't work like it used to. File transfer also behaves strangely with larger files.

I used the previous version on a 3S and two 4S iPhones. Worked Great. The current version doesn't do port forwarding. Thus, no way to see video away from home. Such a shame. I'll try the app again, after couple more updates. Until then, useless...

When I first purchased Airbeam it worked fine. But now on my iPad, it won't detect my iPhone. I've tried to manually enter the address but it still can't fine the iPhone. It did work via Safari. However, when I pressed video record, a large Recording window with the time BLOCKS the center of the screen so you can't see the middle of the image!!! I can understand why it appears on the recording device, but why does it appear on the viewing monitor? If you're viewing the image on the monitor screen, why would anyone block the center of the image?!! I'll probably give up and look for another app.

Worked great for all of 5 minutes. Connected my iPhone 6 to a 4s and worked fine - as advertised. After about 10 minutes basking in how cool this is... This app crashed in the 4s- and since then, I get a 'unknown device type' error and no longer can connect to my 4s. Looking at other reviews I see that this has been a problem since July, and now we are in October - has the developer retired? If this doesn't get fixed, then I've wasted my money.

It's not work over cellular network.

Works locally, but the internet connect ability rarely works and the microphone ability rarely works. I have emailed the developer but have not received a reply. I would recommend looking for something different.

What prompted me to write this review was the fact that when I updated it, the camera I was monitoring went away and I now have no way of retrieving the IP. This is super inconvenient being that I'm a few hundred miles away from my broadcasting computer. This app has a lot of features that seem awesome but the interface is super confusing. The icons and sliders are cryptic and documentation is sparse. Don't download unless you have a lot of patience and time for trial and error.

This WAS a great app. Updating to iOS 10 resulted in the app providing no sound for three different devices I tried. There have been no updates for a long time.

They've thought of everything

Installed AirBeam on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. The app works just fine on iPhone 4s but on the iPhone 4, the app is stuck on the screen "Mapping Ports" with about 25-30% remaining. Also many times the port mapping connectivity is lost and I am unable to connect to the device while I am outside the network. This does not get fixed unless I kill the app and/or restart the phone. Apart from these mentioned issues, the app works fine.

The upgrade is non function as noted by others the screen goes black when a camera is selected. Amateur hour company.

Do not purchase this app. It does not connect to your other devices! The screen does not remain darkened when set to do so. The instructions are vague. Apple needs to start issuing refunds for ineffective apps like this one!

I love this app and use it all around the house And now with the support for AppleTV 4 it's become even more functional than ever! But here's the thing, I have in each room, an old device I owned and after it served its time as a phone or iPod or iPad, I use as an observation cam now... Two of these devices are iPods 4 and one is an iPhone 4... They worked amazingly good! But after the AirBeam 2 was released for iOS 8 and above, I thought it was ok, I'll keep the older devices on the old app and let them transmit as usual... But turns out the new airbeam2 doesn't detect the videos transmitted by the AirBeam 1, which made me "blind" in three of my house's rooms! Of course, I can always check those cams on safari, but this is not very functional since the nice thing about the app was that I opened it on my iPhone or on my iPad and was able to see what the kids were doing in each room! Now, in those three rooms, I have to open safari and key in the IP address... I understand that AirBeam 2 only supports iOS 8 and above... But it would've been nice to make AirBeam and AirBeam 2 play well together especially that I'm sure most of the people are using their old outdated devices as their observation cams and not their iPhone newest devices... I wish the developers would reconsider and make AirBeam 2 play well with AirBeam 1 and accept its videos... (No need for the other way round since most observation is done on new devices but the transmission is done on old devices) Thanks...

I have had this app over a year and it worked great, latest update has turned it into garbage. Don't bother downloading it unless they get it fixed. Will not connect and on my older iPad only goes to microphone no camera! Useless

Leo Lio, what are you talking about? App works excellently, running my device, for several days now, and exporting video. One bug is that while the app passcode works as expected, when the monitor device is also passcode protected, the dialog retains the previously entered passcode, chosing "ok" gives access.

Hangs almost every time it goes to process. I can't monitor my pets to see which one is sick because of this glitch. Fix it and I'll re up the rating

Does nothing but make weird echoing beeping sounds and the video is horrendous even on its least demanding settings. I want my $3.99 back.

I've used the program for a couple of years on several different iPhones. It still has serious performance and stability problems, and frequently crashes. When recording for a couple of hours or even less, the audio and video get way, way out of sync, sometimes by two minutes or more! Incredibly poor! In addition the motion detection sensitivity slider only has any real effect over last tiny 1/8" or so, making it very difficult to set. When halting record there is a long, long (several minutes) delay before it finishes and can be played back. If it is interrupted, a portion of the file is lost. The video needs to be buffered so when motion is detected the video starts recording a couple of seconds earlier in the buffer, before the trigger, so it doesn't appear so jerky when someone walks into a room, for instance. The developer has never responded in any way to the numerous bug reports submitted. Very poor communication, and very slow fixing the many bugs. This program has been on the market for a long time and should be far better polished by now. -- R Carlson MD

Most of the features do not work. I emailed them 2 days ago with a list of things not working and have heard nothing. I'm going to see if I can get refund from Apple for this worthless app. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Still waiting for an update to make this good again. 6 doesn't work with 6s. 4 can't be updated past air beam 1 and that won't work with any other devices, but still works better and more reliably as a standalone than 2.0 does on my other devices. Please please please bring back the old version. 6 months and barely anything has been done...

Like others, lost monitor function with update. Fortunately we have iPad with prior version which still works, but this is really an amateur piece of software. Look elsewhere.

This was a great app until the recent update. Hate the new naming scheme, the old date names were much better than new random number file names. Also when recording and viewing in monitor mode on iPhone, the time code now covers almost entire screen. It used to be small numbers in the corner. Stupid change !

I would not use this as a home security camera replacement to repurpose an old iphone "it is not reliable." It works ok for small projects.

After the latest update, app will crash upon start-up. Emailed support and no response, not recommended. Also paid for the app, try others and stay away from this app if your device is running IOS 8.0.

When I am home on the same network it works flawlessly a. Sometimes it's a little delay with the portmapping thingy but otherwise 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

None of my devices cameras auto connect nor can they manually be connected even on the same network.

New update screwed everything up app is not working please fix

This app works like it claims. It takes video when motivation detected and I have it save to my drop box. It has really awesome motion detection software so it highlights motion if you want. The only downfall is you have to leave your iPad iPhone or other device. So since I take my phone with me, I cannot leave it at home to monitor my home.

This app does not connect to other devices even if they are connected to the same network. After closing the app the screen changes to full brightness. I would not recommend this app to anyone.

Please put back camera format "high" for iPhone 4. Other than that love the new controls for the Galileo.

I'm seriously shocked at the more recent negative reviews for this fantastic app. It's 2019 and I am still using my iPad2 that I bought in 2011. (I was initially nervous about me "being obsolete".) As my camera, I am using an also-dated iPhone6 on a very convenient mount...one of those sturdy yet bendable, foam covered iPhone mounts that I got from the .99 Cent Store. I purchased this app on my iPad and it instantly appeared on my iPhone. (Didn't have to buy it for each device like some reviews are strangely claiming.) I turned the phone's app on first, iPad's app a few seconds later, told the phone's app to operate as the camera, and they immediately found each other on my home Wifi network without me having to enter any weird WiFi codes, usernames, IP addresses, passwords, or all that other aggravating junk I've experienced with countless other Wifi related apps in the past. Seriously I had the whole setup up and running in less than 30 seconds after the app's icons appeared on my device's desktops! The app is crazy-simple to operate, and I actually yelled out loud in amazement at the super high quality of the video and the lack of any choppiness or irritating frame-by-frame effect found in slow security camera's monitors. (In fact, as a test I aimed my phone at a movie playing on TV, and it appeared on my iPad as though it were being streamed directly from Netflix!) I was immediately able to set my mounted phone on the table at my front window and take my iPad back to my office so I could work and be able to watch for an Amazon delivery I was expecting. Also, I have my device's settings set so that when my phone gets a call, I can answer it and take the call with my iPad without having to run up to the front room just to answer it in time...and I don't constantly have to listen for the sound of my phone possibly ringing on the other side of the house. Couldn't be more convenient! My only negative point would be that both my device's batteries were zapped of juice after about 3 hours. No biggie, I'll just plug them both in if operating the app for longer than that next time. Plugging them in while in operation is a minimal inconvenience for such a fantastic convenience though... Also, this is a must-have for anyone else like me who is permanently disabled, slow on their feet and with limited steps!

Downloaded and got it working in less than a few minutes. Used my iPad Air & iPhone 6. Didn't even have to go through tutorial, easy to understand. Intuitive app in my experience.

Where to begin? I use several Idevices around a club (or have purchased this app for a few friends with iPhones) and live stream their feeds into Resolute arena. Total wireless hd footage in a fairly large club and venue with remote lights and remote recording to the local devices etc. Each camera can also be used as it now independent live stream via HTTP. otherwise I use it on older phones or devices (i never get rid of old devices just repurpose them) and can use it as a security camera to record motion detection and review it. Works great and has been a great solution for a club where I don’t want to have a bunch of wires etc.

Your major update was like a major downgrade. It works sometimes, and when it does work I only kind of works..... I spent money on this crap..... Please actually fix this. Make it less confusing ....if it's recording and the I pad dies it should still save the recording. This is the first negative review I have ever feel frustrated enough to waste my time complaining, but I really want change!
