Why did you become so greedy??!!! Terrible app. Sun sentinel Wants you to pay for reading something that is free online using laptop. You lost me! Get palm beach post which is free and has good quality articles.

It seems every day there is a new problem with the app. For the past week plus I only could get the first two pages of a section. Other times no access. Can't wait until I see what problem arises tomorrow

Keeps crashing

App crashes or locks up constantly. Whenever I try to open an article it just shows a blank screen with the loading icon spinning indefinitely. For a service I pay money for, I expect it to work. Otherwise a refund is in order.

Works for me to keep up anywhere I go.

This app constantly has to be deleted and reinstalled. It continually tells me that I have read my five articles for the month, when I pay for this service every month. I will be canceling my subscription.

App starts to open then goes back to the home screen.

This app freezes and is almost unusable. I am going to cancel my subscription.

Now the app just plain stinks. Before it was only because the stories never linked to the correct video or photos, now everything about the app is terrible.

This app was good, but now I can only see 20 articles without paying? Sorry, will find Florida news elsewhere.

As a paid subscriber, I want the app to work properly on my devices, because I want to read the local news. The reporting is fine, not great, but acceptable. However, the app, especially on my iPad, is excruciatingly slow. It has taken upwards of a FULL MINUTE for the app to open and display the index of stories. That is just not acceptable. In addition, as others have noted, it is almost laughable that so many of the imbedded videos are not related to the stories to which they are attached. And it is also common that attached photos are shown multiple times, so that when the app indicates that there are 30 photos, it might really be 10 different images, repeated 3 times. It appears very amateurish.

The app was great when I was able to choose the articles I was interested in. Now even if you just click on an article it goes towards your "20 premium" reads per month then you have to pay! No thanks! I'll just pull up stories I want to read via the net! DELETE....

Dbracerfl said everything I wanted to say back in March. I too contacted the Sun Sentinel about these flaws to no avail. Don’t even bother to answer. Disrespect for the customers is a very good description. I’ve held on to it because the Miami Herald is not Broward County based but will have to let go as well. What a waste of my time every time I try to read from this app! Shame on you Sun Sentinel!! Feel sorry for their reporters.

The new pay-to-read model is horrible! This app tells you that you get 20 reads a month but never resets, so you basically get 20 reads ever, and then you're done. There is no next month. This is a failed experiment and a poor business model! Bye SS!

I find it very easy to read the news stories. The layout is very well organized.

As of yesterday and after the latest IOS update, the content on Sun Sentinel is just a bunch of symbols and random letters as opposed to English.

5 free articles a month??!! Get the same content for free with all other So Fla news apps

The app only allows 5 free articles to read a month. Hmm should I pay a monthly fee to read unlimited quality written articles? No thank you! Uninstall.

The app was ok until they decided to charge for a "premium access" to read articles once you read 10 in a month. I deleted the app just recently.

This app use to work so-so even with all the dumb ads. Now that they’re trying to use video ads in addition to all the other BS ads, it has become completely unusable. STOP with all of the ads!!! Nobody is clicking your dumb ads unless by accident. Try creating content that people will be willing to pay for.

Loved it for awhile as a born and raised South Floridian and now in Rhode Island. When the ads are overwhelmingly unbearable I had to uninstall. Not going to pay a monthly fee. It's a shame.

It's the one app that won't load. It's sucking my battery life because it keeps trying to load. I've tried to delete it, but nope can't delete it. Just go away!!!

The good news is they are not making any money from all the ads, because everyone is uninstalling their app. I grew up in South Florida, live in Palm Coast now, wanted to keep up on S. Fla. sports. Paying for ads is ridiculous. Been using Miami Herald app for past year, limited ads, no limit on articles. The best part it is free.

App needs to be less choppy on iPhones. Navigation hard due to stickyness while scrolling through

Why are you charging people 4.99 a month to read the stories when we can just go online and read it for free?

Need a lot of work. Specially the offline part very slow suddenly stopped and show a message of no internet connection despite the fact is connected. Need to work in the bugs to become useful.

Can't be on the app without a garbage pop up add for a chance to win a free iPhone popping up. Complete garbage.

Great app until the 5 article limit and invasive ads pushed me to uninstall. If you're looking for free local news go download the Palm Beach Post app, unlimited articles and no invasive ad placement. Tighten up sun sentinel, no one wants to pay $7 for something they can get for free elsewhere.

The new update is horrible. Fails to Load any articles. I deleted and reinstalled and still is slow and fails to load. I pay for the digital subscription. Fix this or I am done.

Updated: App is now completely unusable. Completely freezes after reading a part of one story and when attempting to navigate to the next. Sent two emails to the company asking for some idea as to when we might get some relief. Asked for a reply and never got one. For $7.99 per month I think subscribers (the few they have) are entitled to the respect of a response and ultimately a working app. What a shame. It is as if they want this newspaper to go out of business with their lack of any care for its readers. I’m officially done. Canceling subscription today. Stories with imbedded videos that have nothing to do with their stories. For example I just read a story about skull like images in hurricane Irma which was interesting, and the imbedded video was a weather report from another county. Are they trying to chase away readers with such bad reporting and inaccurate stories? This app keeps up stories forever without changing content. Do we really want news from weeks ago? If you can't commit to your community sell your newspaper to someone who will.

App won’t even open now. I’m trying to find out where I can find other news and pay for it, that’s better than this site.

5 articles a month? I am not paying $7 for something I can get for free. I just delete the app and reinstall it and the counter resets.

Hasn’t worked properly in weeks; repeatedly freezes and doesn’t open up news articles.

Great app if you didn't have to subscribe for $7 a month.

After moving away from South Florida a year and half ago, I decided to keep my Sun-Sentinel subscription to stay up-to-date with the news from my hometown via the app. This worked OK (but not great) until about two months ago. Now it’s completely unusable. Stories don’t load. The app constantly crashes. It’s a new frustration every single morning. Adding insult to injury, I’m paying for this pleasure. Well, not anymore. I’ve tried every tech-support trick in the book (logging out and back in, deleting the app and reinstalling, etc.), but to no avail. I’m throwing in the towel. I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

App is ok with some current news but why are the same stories up for 2 wks? Content needs to be increased & rotated more often.

Useless news app. Pay to read news after 10 stories. Are they serious?!?!?! I'll read the same exact articles online. This app is trash. No wonder sun sentinel is running out of money with trash apps like this. Incredibly stupid and useless app.

They now charge after you read "5 premium stories" per month. What a joke! The story is online somewhere for free, thanks for opening my eyes to other free news services. I've moved on from Sun Sentinel now.

Thanks to the latest update the app doesn’t work at all. Please fix.

Sun Sentinel use to be a quality newspaper, with good unbiased writers and a descent sports section. It has tragically taken a turn as with so many other news outlets and become a mouth piece pushing a certain political agenda. Will not pay for this crap!
