Had to reconfigure everything to get back to minimal text and ability to skim hundreds of headlines fast. Looks nice but somehow harder to absorb things quickly hopefully will get used to it but think font/padding ratios on the old compact view were more readable.

Feedly is an amazing news reader. Skip all the ads and garbage on news sites. Subscribe to your favorite topics and save good info. Skip the algorithmic news feeds and get the source.

Hate to be the one star reviewer but this is a down-grade. Night mode existed previously. Pocket integration existed previously. Now they want to charge for Pocket integration? Where's the insta paper integration? Twitter sharing? Been a user since Google reader shutdown...No thanks Feedly. No thanks.
EBdiesel08's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
My initial impressions...not really liking the app. It flows a bit different. I appreciate the work on it, but I see they have the classic app, so I’ll be using that instead. I will try and use both, just so I can give it a fair try. Good job on both apps.
vitalemonntea's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Gone in the new redesign: -Choice of where to save articles -Easy long press to save to read later (for free users) Instead, the new version prompts you to swipe to save to pocket and pay for feedly pro. Long pressing now brings up a submenu to prompt you to save to pocket, which also prompts you to pay for feedly pro. Of course, you can hit "share" and save to pocket through there, but a single long press action before is now three actions: long press > share to > pocket. App redesigns are understandable, but to remove features that were once a key part of someone's reading flow is a big mistake.
SGL's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Hi. I’ve been a premium user since Google Reader closed and generally like the product. The newest app update is great except the font sizes are all so small. Even when I set the font to extra large, it seems small. Maybe I am getting old. I’ll probably switch to the old (classic) version. UPDATE: it looks like the font is the same size in the old version of Feedly even though it feels smaller in the new version. I wish it were a point or two larger at the largest setting.
Groverwood's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
sorry, I hate the new interface. Thanks for keeping the old 'Classic' version around. I don't know who thought the new version was going to be better, but you guys missed the mark on this one.

David Chartier's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Feedly is a great service overall but its iOS app is missing a lot of features and needs some fixes and polish, especially on iPad. For example: you can put it in Split View but it breaks the layout and article text falls off the screen. I pay for Feedly Pro and really hope they can spend the time that is sorely needed here.
LeeGeeeeeee's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
I loved Feedly, read it everyday. It was clear and simple to set up and use. Now it’s practically indecipherable to me. Developers just seem to want to make changes whether they are actually improvements or not. Making an app more complicated to use is definitely not an improvement. How do I go back to the old version?
caoebjamesross's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM

Monsterhunterthatsings's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Will Feedly ever have smooth page scrolling, rather than that gross auto-scroll transition when you swipe (I want to go at my own pace)? I love the content Feedly provides and the fact that I can add sources (even ones blocked on Apple News) but this one lacking feature keeps me going back to Apple News (which has terrible content). It’s easy... use a listview scrollview in the code base and trigger a request to get more data. Heck, your settings page implements smooth scrolling! Do that! The user experience is so important to me. Please! Please! Implement smooth scrolling. I’ll update this review to 5 stars when it finally shows up.
DARsr's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
I’ve always loved Feedly but what happened to the Save and Unsave “buttons”? 12-5-18. Hate the new iPad version. Can’t add to Read Later in one step. Now takes THREE. Please change it back!
Gamera!'s Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Edit: didn’t see that there is now a Feedly classic, as well. I’ll check it out. This one still deserves 3 stars ... for now. May update later. Why all the changes!!! It was almost perfect as it was!!! Now all my setting are wrong after the latest update, and I can’t get it back to the feed order that I had before the update. I can’t swipe left on the page and have all the articles showing be marked read. This new format will take some getting used to, if I even bother. Not cool... Also: why don’t you have the option to make the change from day to night mode automatically, after sundown, or when the current screen brightness drips below a certain percent.
lemontree2004's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM

Lightning Flip's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Great features and an excellent interface on both iOS and Android. I would like to see the app updated for the 12.9 2018 iPad Pro and the ability to view full screen videos directly in the app.
MMEEEEEEEEE!'s Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
The new design is a regression in tons of ways with a confusing user experience. They’ve even added the “classic” Feedly which means they knew there was problems with the update and decided to launch anyway. While classic solves my problem right now, I expect Feedly is going to deprecate it at some point once it bit rots too much - Slower - No open article view - Removed tons of options - Difficult to see borders between articles - Even at the smallest settings you can only see 6 articles at once
gdmedia1's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
With this new version, if you leave a page, then go back to it, you go to the top instead of where you left off! So, if you accidentally go ahead or just want to go back and read something again, you have to find your place all over again. Aaaaagh! This is the exact same bug that appeared in the old version a couple years ago and it took over a year for Feedly to fix it. This is so irritating that I am immediately going back to “Classic Feedly” if it’s really there and hoping the “zip to the top” bug has not reappeared there!
wilgory's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
The latest update is making it so each article loads in safari and cannot be read within the feedly app. This is a complete failure and a huge disappointment. Very frustrating and breaks the best part of feedly... (reading articles easily)
Thisguyneil's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
The newest update makes it feel new again. I’ve been waiting for a continuous scroll mode for YEARS although I’m not sure where save to pocket button went. Guess it’s just a bug with the new version.
MichaelEPS5's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
The new app is mostly great, although gestures on stories should be directionally customizable (switch sides for the swipe to save to reading list for example). Two more minor things, the old version had a custom curated explore section that appears to be missing from the new version, and the animation for pages viewing of your default screen instead of smooth scrolling feels too smooth and out of place.
Suckysucksucksuck's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Too busy and too much jumping around. More difficult to find what I am looking for. No longer have a button for current happenings that I’m not necessarily subscribed to, instead there is a button asking me to sign up to be charged $6 per month. Would have paid before, but not after this new update. Time to find a new app that does the job without a bunch of clutter.
Nom2018's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM

ddawg82's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Redesign is disappointing. Enjoyed a compact view with a brief preview to the body. Now there’s more limited choices and a lot of wasted space. Bring back the old settings!
Mlbizzle's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
I love this application and use it daily. The only thing I wish it had was keyboard shortcut support on iOS. I feel like this would be a simple addition that would make viewing on my iPad Pro much more enjoyable.
MarcLevy's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Cannot maintain predownloaded favorites feeds for offline use. All feeds should enable download ability for offline reading. Also, UX varies too much across devices, with iPad beautiful but Moto Z Force sized less well for browsing. Finally, in-app review writing (as now) does not work with Apple Keyboard Folio. Feedly also fails to suggest new articles beyond my feedly based on what I have read, only suggesting entire new feeds and only when I look for them at that. Search is useful but would benefit from more facets. I am Pro but don’t know if I will re-subscribe given my complaints. The offline issue is huge for me since I enjoy reading in airplane mode most of the time.
O. Berkeley's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
I wish I had noticed the “beautification” of this update. I don’t like all the white space in “comfortable” selection and the compact choice only gives a title, which may or may not be very helpful. If it ain’t broke, WHY fix it? Please allow us to return to the old display. Annoyed.

This new redesign has ruined the functionality of the app. It might work if you have a few sources or items to read. But no ability to mark the all the items on screen as read (not all in a topic/source). The compact is a mess compared to the old compact for readability. Totally form over function
no name for ya's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
The new update changed the layout and how to use the app completely. It becomes very difficult to rapidly scroll through multiple feeds. You can no longer swipe to mark everything in the same page as read. The number of feeds per page is reduced to very low number even in so called compact mode. Personally would like to have the old layout back.
dripxlife's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Love, love, love this app. However, I’m not a fan of the navbar on the bottom with the new update. One of the biggest reasons I liked this app so much was its minimalism, simplicity, and design language. Sadly, the latest update ruined it for me by placing green icons on the bottom screen. It used to be very clean and filled the entire screen with content. It looked really great on my iPhone XS Max. The developers should really consider bringing this back. At least consider having an option to enable the previous UI design. I would really appreciate that. Outside of that, wow, the animations and the other improvements are just amazing. I would just like to tuck away the rarely used options like it was before. Thanks for the hard work. Update: just discovered that one icon in particular, on the navbar (the search icon), is completely unusable unless you pay the $6 monthly fee for Feedly Pro. This is an unapologetic marketing tactic designed to get people to pay. I understand you have to generate revenue, but charging $6.00 monthly instead of a one time charge is pushing it. So not only is the search feature in the way of content visibility, but also wholly unusable. Sadly, I have uninstalled the app unless this changes, and judging how most companies operate these days, I doubt there will be a change. No one should have to pay monthly to be able to search for things on a news aggregator lol.

tsbayne's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
The most recent update changed almost everything I liked about this feed reader. Now it’s hard to use and all the options I had previously are gone. The reason why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because Feedly was at least kind enough to leave the old reader available In the App Store. I do at least appreciate that. But obviously that won’t work forever....
jamdaddy25's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Paged viewing doesn't work? Only paged scrolling? Mark all as read for past day or week or all... Why not let me swipe for all articles currently shown as in the "classic" version? Why has this all changed? To remove functionality again? What did I gain by this change as a user? I just see less in settings in an app I've used for years and doesn't feel more useable. Bad call. First inclination is never use this app again and delete it.. grrr
Pete Mayhem's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
After toggling through settings, I’ve made the most recent update serviceable but I did want to address some things that I found very disappointing. -The new fonts are thin and much harder to look at. Please bring back Slab Serif and San Francisco options, even if you like your new one. Your new fonts are bad. -Scrolling, which can be disabled, isn’t ideal and I’m not fond of the cut off presentation at the bottom of the screen. It also makes the mark as read option more annoying to use, as the bottom of the scroll won’t auto mark because it stops dead. -After I enabled page flipping, it still has that cut off headline at the bottom and it also doesn’t do a complete page flip. The next page has the last article from the previous page. This is poor design. -Make Read Later simple again. It’s no longer a bookmark affair, now I have to sort everything I want to pass. -Thank you for keeping Feedly Classic as a downloadable option. I have to ask though, what is better about this version? What has been improved besides animation? It feels like a step back and a dumbing down of a great product.
mattswann's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
After years of using app and web version we now have to pay for the privilege of searching. Will hold off on deleting in the case that you remove that “feature” otherwise the app is dead to me.
Ninlab55's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
I like the new look and features of Feedly, that is except this one. The endless page... where the story listing never ends. A quick flick of the thumb and .... oops....went to far... missed a story there... slide back down with the thumb... there it is. Reading well involves predictable eye tracking. A quick glance at a predictable page layout meant you could actually comprehend what you quickly glanced at. With endless scrolling, lines of text on the screen are never in predictable places when you’re scanning for headlines and story leads. Comprehension and quick glances (at headlines ad story leads) are now mutually exclusive. It’s a bad reading setup. Hire a reading specialist before reformatting digital magazines. I deleted News 360 for this same reason. This one goes too. Thank goodness for Flipboard.

Lion Heart review's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
I use this app daily and I love how it syncs with different devices including the web version on pc. One of the annoying bugs is that when I tap and hold on a word to look up its meaning, it does nothing. It’s supposed to bring up the dictionary and show its meaning. This happens whether I’m on the “cards view” or if I’m in the article itself in the embedded web browser. Keep up the good work
Rodzirra's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/6/18 12:31 PM
Launched Feedly for my daily fix and was confronted with a completely alien and terrible new UI. Awful. Taking UI lessons from Google, perhaps? I know I’m spitting into the wind here, but I’d dearly love an option of going back to the old UI. I’m suddenly and unexpectedly in the market for a new feed reader. Super bummed ☹️
CKMichigan's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/30/18 12:44 PM
I have no idea if this is a feature or a bug, but every time I come to the end of a batch of my subscribed feeds and click “mark all read,” I get taken not to the next batch, as it should and used to be, but to “all,” topped with “popular.” I have to navigate to and select “today” to get to the next batch. This is a stupid waste of time, and for the life of me I can’t see the reason for it even from Feedly’s point of view. Since Feedly doesn’t offer any kind of app support, I can’t report this issue, so leaving this review is pretty much my only option. I really dislike this “upgrade” overall, and see zero benefit or improvement. I downloaded Classic, but when I logged in, it didn’t have my feeds - it told me I had to add them. So I bailed on that. What a mess.

Cashstacker's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/30/18 12:44 PM
The changes to the New design have really reduced the functionality and usefulness of the product. Overall, the new version is a "downgrade" to Feedly Classic. Some of the changes make no sense...either from a design or user experience perspective. Ex: In this version is multiple steps to share something versus a long press in classic (the long press is configurable in classic). The classic version is an "upgrade" to this version, stick with it.
MESDad's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/30/18 12:44 PM
Why can’t I zoom on an image? Why, after reading the last entry in Today, does Feedly send me to All rather than another round of Today? Why would I have to consider installing a “classic” version of this app to retain the basic functionality that got removed in this update?
Killer app to sketchy app's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/30/18 12:44 PM
Every time this app is update the developers make it look prettier and make the usability worse. Totally form over function. It seems like developers are just making changes because they have nothing better to do. The only good thing that has been done to “this” app in the last couple of years is that they released “Feedly Classic” for which I am truly thankful and wholeheartedly give 5 stars!
Colin Stuart's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/30/18 12:44 PM

Bert Storm's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/29/18 12:48 PM
Extremely disappointed that the updated app quietly took away a simple feature, “long press to save to Pocket” and change it to a “premium” feature. I’m expected to pay $40+ a year for such a simple feature that has been available for free for years. Get real. If there was a decent alternative, I would switch apps but there’s not. For now, I’m using the “Share” feature to add things to Pocket. It’s inconvenient, but it’s not worth paying a ransom for such a simple feature.

connorspeers's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/25/18 12:50 PM
Love the app, love the service, redesign is great but I have only one criticism. Not sure if it’s just me doing something wrong, but in the old app, the “mark all as read” button in the today view would mark the 12-ish last articles in the today view as read, then load the next 12 articles while staying in the today view. In the redesign, however, it jumps to the “all” view when I tap this button, which doesn’t make sense to me; why would I want to go to the all view after reading just the first few articles in the today view? The checkmark at the top of the today view works as expected however. Would be nice if the pull up gesture and “mark all as read” button at the bottom of the today view did the same (and didn’t jump to a different view). Thanks for the great app and service.
KCAndroid1's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/25/18 12:50 PM
I suppose I'll get used to the new look. But with my sources where I ask the app to open directly in the browser? When I finish the article and press the back to Feedly button, the app starts over on the Today page. I need to navigate back to the individual source, where it has forgotten what I've read and what is still unread. All in all, the new design has made reading far more cumbersome and inefficient.
Earthsurfer's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/25/18 12:50 PM
NOTE: Search for “Feedly Classic” for the previous version. This redesign has usability issues on an iPhone 7 Plus. Specifically, “swipes” on article titles are not intuitive, and results can be unpredictable. There seems to be some “zones,” but there was no clear documentation. There should have been a short tutorial for existing users. Overall, a frustrating experience with an app which previously had a clear usability design. This new design does not comform to the current iOS design language.
chic reveiw's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/23/18 12:40 PM
The new UI is good, its just taking some time to get used to it. However I have been using Feedly since Google Reader was scrubbed. And now they are wanting me to pay $8 a month for what I have been getting for free for years! No added functionality, in fact some has been taken away. I would probably pay 1-2 dollars a month to help support the developers but what they are asking is just way too greedy. Especially for an app that hasn’t been updated that often in the past. I’m out
Jackie_Treehorn's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/23/18 12:40 PM
I really hate the changes. Why so many animations? Please bring back the no animation swipe right to close the article and return to the list. Why do you feel the need to animate and “spring” the closing of an article? It’s very distracting.
Michael in fl's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/23/18 12:40 PM

A Mac, Photoshop and a Beard's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/23/18 12:40 PM
Nooooooo! I used to love the beautiful magazine layout on this app with big beautiful photos and easy to read. Now it’s just like any other newsreader... sure it’s clean and modern but it’s not what I wanted at all. I miss the old style. Huge step backward. I’ll keep it around and check back in a month or two, hopefully there’s enough outcry to get the great layout back.
Corco304's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/23/18 12:40 PM
I really enjoyed just flicking through my feedly and marking off everything. Now with infinite scroll I have to scroll to the bottom and press a button. If I get side tracked on an article and leave and come back there are all these “unread” articles in my feedly that I’ve scrolled past but not yet marked off. Not as effortless and carefree as it once was. Is it possible to add an option within the settings that gives users the choice of infinite scroll vs. finite? That would go a long way with me.
SDippy's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/23/18 12:40 PM
I switched to Feedly Classic after using this a few weeks. In short, I have to swipe more and mark read articles already read to move to the next area. The default view is not for me.
Captain Zesty's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/23/18 12:40 PM
I've loved Feedly for years, but this update has me looking elsewhere. They tried so hard to push the "Today" view. I literally never want anything but chronological view in any app with a feed and it took way too long for me to get my feed back the way I want it. They either removed or hid the "refresh" button which I used to use at least once every session. Now, marking everything as "read" is the best way I've found force it to refresh. That's not cool. The cosmetic redesign is fine, but it it looked fine before. The function is a big step back for me.

Warren dodsdale's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/22/18 12:45 PM
This update, while good, lacks a few features that makes me stick with the classic version: There's no image zoom, which is kind of crucial for larger images that get compressed on a phone. Some of the content pieces from certain feeds simply don't show up. Sometimes a really low-res version of an image is shown. Alt tags (title tags) aren't shown. And you can't set it to start on a certain feed tag, which is relatively minor. I'll keep checking in on new updates to see if it's time to start using the new one.
VdkaShaker's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/22/18 12:45 PM
Like the app overall, and a long time user. Really glad to see the time and effort applied to updates, especially one so extensive. The new UI is a bit jarring at first. I generally use a dark theme and most simple text only layout for the list. I’ve mostly adapted. Two biggest annoyances: 1. The use of bright colors. The launch screen is bright white and says something like “Always be learning!” Nice affirmation, but I use dark mode so it’s a flash in my eye at every launch which is annoying. Similar to that is the new bright green “Good job” button after I finish off articles. Tone it all down please for us dark mode folks. 2. I’m sure the mark-as-read/read-later gestures are more standard for iOS (and more discoverable), but boy do I miss the ability to more quickly mark individual articles or the entire screen read or unread. I used to go through two or three screens of articles marking the page read then unmarking one or two things, next page the same, then refresh and I was left with my hand full of items for later; I don’t want to go to some other place or app to read later. This new interface doesn’t let me do that. I can mark read on scroll but that doesn’t let me mark all I can see at once, and doesn’t let me unmark things, because if i scroll, they get marked again. As I said in the title, change is hard. If I must adapt I will, but it feels like a big step back for my style of using the app. I read somewhere I could turn ok “classic” mode, but I can’t find that. Still searching. [UPDATE]: Really NOT liking the Mark All As Read button. It also clears the screen instead of letting me go back and unmark some articles I want to keep first.

*update* I just updated to this latest release. I have to give you props for listening to your users. I don’t know about others but it looks like you have at least addressed my biggest concerns. Of course my needs don’t sound as complex as what a lot of people are doing. Just want to be able to attach to several feeds, read my news and not have to jump through hoops to do it. I might actually be able to use this version. I will at least give it a try. I loved Feedly, read it everyday. It was clear and simple to set up and use. Now it’s practically indecipherable to me. Developers just seem to want to make changes whether they are actually improvements or not. Making an app more complicated to use is definitely not an improvement. How do I go back to the old version? Switched to Feedly classic. I wonder how many of the few positive reviews of the new version are actually posted by Feedly employees, because I have a hard time believing that anyone would like having to go through more steps to get the same results. For instance, old Feedly click on an article go immediately to web page. New Feedly, it takes you to another page that may have two more lines of information. Then you have to click again to go to web page. What a boneheaded change. I sometimes think developers live in their own little universe and don’t really think through how things are going to work in the real universe.

Share menu missing the option to add to reading list. UIX of New Feedly is cluttered and inconvenient compared to Feedly Classic.
_CLL_'s Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/22/18 12:45 PM
I started using this app when Google pulled the plug on its Reader. Early on, it was a functional replacement with some issues and bugs. Over the years, however, they have ironed out all the issues, and it does everything I want it to without issue. (A recent update needlessly changed to UI design, and it is a bit more awkward that it was, but this is a small quibble.)
zeroshiftsl's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/22/18 12:45 PM
New version removes useful, previously available features such as saving to pocket. App for some reason keeps going to all view instead of the today view. Tried using the classic version but it refuses to let me log in with Twitter. Very unsatisfied with the direction of this app that I once loved. I wouldn’t even mind paying for it but the subscriptions are just too expensive imo.
SilentSam's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/22/18 12:45 PM
I can’t believe they ruined it. You have to click a hundred times to save an article to Instapaper instead of one long press. And it never seems to mark articles as read correctly. Sometimes it’s too many and other show up repeatedly.

Alyoshablue's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/19/18 12:48 PM
Out of the update, the only thing I find worthy was the movement of the menu from the top to the bottom. Everything else just is worse. Can’t search for a keyword or add google search without paying a monthly fee.
jmstacey's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/19/18 12:48 PM
iPhone XS optimization means no rotation into landscape mode. Stupid. Not even in the integrated browser. Even more unfriendly. Want to read a wide comic strip? Sorry, can’t do that. Want to watch an video or gif without full screen? Sorry, only one panel at a time in portrait orientation.
TimMohler's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/19/18 12:48 PM
I’ve been a pro user for years, both to support and because of the clean Evernote integration. If it’s there it’s buried. Infinite scroll is terrible as well for me personally. My feeds are endless, loved ‘accomplishing’ something by getting to the bottom so I didn’t feel I had to read everything in the world. Feels like just another oversimplified app with much of the functionality that made it worth paying for gutted. I’m on an iPhone (and not a phablet). Going to classic for now, will see if I renew. Oh - the slide function (read/delete I think) is a good idea but doesn’t work. Sliding all the way across the screen is hard if not impossible(I haven’t gotten it to work once). Some of these features might have potential - more testing, and please stop removing features that we rely on for our workflow!
Trackerguy's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/19/18 12:48 PM
Feedly, without warning, just dumped free Pocket integration in its update. So... Dear Feedly, Pocket integration was nice and the reason I used Feedly over other options. But, I’m not going to pay for it. If I have to share it to Pocket with a few extra taps, then I can use any aggregator and do the same thing. You just gave me a reason to switch.
Stealth24's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/19/18 12:48 PM
At first, I liked the new update - automatically updated feed, bypassing Google AMP automatically, and a cleaner design overall. However, overall it’s a big step backwards. The new explore tab is basically worthless. It’s just a topic search engine. The old version had actual content. In the main feed there are now fewer lines of headline so less content is visible. Conclusion: glad Feedly Classic is still available.
MrsCastle's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/19/18 12:48 PM
I used this app many times a day before the update. I was in the beta tester group and noted the beta tests were unusable for iPad. Sadly others must have thought differently. My favorite (and paid pro!) Feed reader since Google Reader is now gone. The interface is not engaging and the ability to mark all on a page read with a simple swipe is gone. This messes up the feed for my iPhone for which the app is marginally better. I have no idea what they thought they had to fix. Please return the legacy app for your previously adoring fans. Don’t read my feeds like a Twitter stream where I don’t care if I miss things. Be yourself. I would have paid more for the Pro app if it was the same. Devastated. Addendum: After all my whining here and on Twitter, the kind team at Feedly advised there is a Feedly Classic app. It returns the interface to what I need. Good call. Only way it could be better is if the new app had a menu option linking to the classic app.
Corrica's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/19/18 12:48 PM
Everything about the new update is so bad. The thing I hate the most is you can no longer hold an article down to quickly save it to read later. You now have to click like 8 things to get to it. The new interface is clunky and not nice.
MT-23's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/18/18 12:44 PM
Unfortunately the new design completely broke my years-long workflow. I can no longer mark whole pages of articles read with a single swipe, and then selectively mark articles unread. Lots of additional gestures but they don’t work the same way for some reason. Was avoiding going back to Feedly Classic but after a week, went for it. Five stars for that one. Amazing benefit that it’s still being offered - kudos for that!
Aman000003's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/18/18 12:44 PM
The entire team who worked on this and approved this should never work on apps or design again. Literally everything you do now requires 3 or 4 clicks when it used to be one click or swipe. An absolute nightmare to use and ugly to boot. You should be ashamed of yourselves for claiming to be designers of any kind.

Until the recent overhaul, I could just tap an article to send it to Instapaper and read it at my convenience along with articles I’d send to Instapaper from elsewhere. Now this compatibility is dropped, and I’ll have to start looking for an alternative to Feedly. It used to be good.

the compact/text only view looks like one huge blob of text. add some horizontal rules so each item is distinguishable again. thanks! new design always opens in the new aggregated view.... it used to open in whatever i had been reading in last. i like viewing things in the ‘All’ view. let me do that again? did you bother to user test this release?
jesmkg's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/18/18 12:44 PM
The new interface is mostly fine for how I use Feedly - reading news articles and a few web comics. The one thing I seriously miss from the older version of Feedly is the easy ability to read the mouse over text in xkcd. I have not found another quick and easy way to read the mouse over text for xkcd on my phone, but the older version of Feedly had a link right there. Now that link is sadly gone 😕
Miggida Mac's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/18/18 12:44 PM
Not sure what focus group told you this was good. The new design is bad on so many levels. Scrap it before you lose users.
buenor1's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/17/18 12:53 PM
It’s bothersome and it makes you tap more often than necessary. For example, it doesn’t remember the feed that I was reading and instead it keeps going back to some sort of useless page that collects all my feeds. It wouldn’t be all that bad if I could assign a favorite feed as a start page but I can’t. It’s bad enough that I’m looking for another reader. UPDATE: at least I found Feedly Classic, it’s just an older version - with a decent UI. At least not all is lost.
Jennifer7421's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/17/18 12:53 PM
I understand the need to move forward and after poking around the settings of the new app I’ve been able to “fix” most of the issues. The issues that remain: 1. The open into a web page is clumsy and slow. This worked well in the old app, why would you ever change to this mess? 2. Both the night and day settings are hard in the eyes. A new set of colors is needed. 3. Why handle the roll out so poorly and leave users to stumble through it? A brief navigation video would have gone a long way. Several android updates to the new app have come out, but it’s been over a week with this mess on iPad.

father of sam's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/17/18 12:53 PM
Gestures mean one thing, until suddenly they mean something else. Scrolling works, until it doesn’t. If you get too close to the end of the article list, it vanishes, replaced by a “you’re all done” screen. The Explore feature is gone, replaced by something with clumsy navigation. I tried, I really tried to use the new app. Going back to Feedly Classic.

The new UI has a polished look but the gestures are all haywire, I find myself accidentally doing stuff a lot, and not being sure how to undo it. Also sharing is broken on Firefox - still using this as a feed reader but if the bugs aren’t fixed I might try something else.
Earthsurfer's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/17/18 12:53 PM
NOTE: Search for “Feedly Classic” for the previous version. This redesign has usability issues on an iPhone 7 Plus. Specifically, “swipes” on article titles are not intuitive, and results can be unpredictable. There seems to be some “zones,” but there was no clear documentation. There should have been a short tutorial for existing users. Overall, a frustrating experience with an app which previously had a clear usability design. This new design does not comfort to the current iOS design language.

Jorvik21's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/17/18 12:53 PM
New version is not good. Have not seen any positives to out weigh the negatives. The interface is clunky now, for example options on how navigate are gone. Also gone.is pinch zoom. Not everyone wants to lay in bed with their glasses on. So I am off now to find another app, very disappointing.
guice666's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/17/18 12:53 PM
On iPhone: three features gone that existed prior: 1) ability to quick swipe thru cards, marking as read. Now the only way to auto mark cards as read is by going thru their full views. 2) image only RSS feeds no longer have zoom. 3) image only feeds no longer have the option to view the image caption, i.e. I can no longer see XKCD's caption, at all. I want the old Feedly back. Or, at the least, stop removing UI features. Put these functions back into this app.
JoannaSF's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/17/18 12:53 PM

I have been happily using Feedly since google eliminated their RSS feed. But recently, before updating the app, one of the web site’s articles kept reappearing. I tried editing my feeds but all attempts at deleting the repeating site failed. NOW the “update” doesn’t appear to offers a way to edit the feed. To make matters worse, another site has decided to offer “adult” content and have no way of removing it. I feel as if I no longer have control over what does or doesn’t appear in my feed. I’m ready to I will try returning to the “classic”, and hope I can edit my feeds

I’ve used Feedly a long time and a recent update makes it annoying. It used to be that when you wanted to read more of a post it would open in the app. Now it opens in safari, which is annoying. Also, now you can’t zoom in on the articles. Super annoying. Booooooo.
DL Samples's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/16/18 12:48 PM
Having watched Feedly improve since its earliest days, it is sad to now see what may be a dramatic demise. Has there been a change in team-players or, is the old team simply keen on rushing Feedly to obsolescence? While “update” should imply improvement, Feedly developers have redefined the term. Their latest efforts stripped some workable functions away and modified, for no clear reasons, features that performed well. However, they went on to pretty-up menus and such, apparently hoping that their idea of technical lip-gloss might make their new pig attractive. Their idea of an update might be practical from a user-sense if everyone will set aside functionality and intuitive design expectations and settle for merely a tarted-up pig. On the plus side: a classic Feedly version remains available (for the moment) as a separate App.
mozudesu's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/16/18 12:48 PM
You got ride of the Explore Feed which I enjoyed going threw every morning. Now that it’s gone I’ll just be using Reddit. The reading experience is really poor. I have to click mark as read over a series rather than just swiping through the articles. As many others have said, it looks like I’ll be finding a new RSS Reader. Did your UX designers ever talk to existing users or do you just have a visual designer on your team that knows nothing about interaction design?

Long time Feedly user and was beginning to explore other options before the update. It was definitely time for a UI/UX refresh and this certainly delivers. I love the scrolling feed and transitions from article view to articles. For those complaining about missing features: give it time. Redesigns are a ton of work and they can’t fix everything at once. These devs definitely listen to feedback.
Davezzzz1z's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/16/18 12:48 PM
Navigation on this new version is terrible. When I mark as unread in the text only view, why does it close and go back to the listing? Doesn’t make sense. Was considering buying a membership but I find Feedly unusable now so glad I didn’t. I use feedly to save time and when the app gets updated to make things take longer to do when it was perfectly fine before, it really makes no sense.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the last iteration of the native Feedly app, but this new one rocks! It is much, much easier to work your way through a feed and mark articles as read or save for later - and that makes a big difference. Great job!
Catalogue Michael's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/15/18 12:41 PM
Sometimes change is necessary to move the product forward so that is relevant to new users. But let’s be honest, this rollout was done very poorly. A lot of the things many people miss about the old version actually are available in the new one if you dig into the settings. But unfortunately Feedly didn’t see fit to provide any instruction on how to find them. They have been very responsive on Twitter, which is good. And some of the things I can’t do anymore have been replaced by arguably better features. Unfortunately it was annoyingly hard to figure out how to use these new features and cost me way too much time. For what it’s worth I would recommend rolling out changes incrementally rather than overhauling the whole system all at once. Two last points: 1. One thing Feedly did correctly was to make their old version available in the iTunes Store. It is called Feedly classic. So everyone who’s complaining about the update can simply download the app. 2. Give an optometrist a call. Both your day and tonight settings are not ideal for the eyes. There’s a very simple contrast and color palette you can implement that would be much better for day and night. This is one of the things I was really hoping would be fixed in the new version.

paranda_update's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
As someone who works on user interfaces I am disappointed to see that an app I love ultimately rolled out a “looks nice” update that actually makes a lot of things harder to do. You used to be able ability to quickly skim page by page and “long swipe left” to mark all on the page as read while “short swipe right” to pick out a few key articles to keep unread. Now you must mark read or unread individually on each item. On a keyboard with hot keys this is manageable, but on mobile device this is A LOT of swiping gestures. This was pretty important to those of us with large feeds to keep items read/unread manageable. Taking it away pretty much makes this app unusable for large feeds. There is no new order of operations to get used to that can replicate the above. The mark all in page feature simply appears to be gone. Finally one criticism is mark read and unread are the same swipe action now so the user must carefully discern read/unread status to make sure the article flipped to the right status by looking at opacity of the text rather than trust on simple muscle memory of swipe right or swipe left. Imagine a light that is controlled with switch with obvious on/off position vs just a button. Which one is easier to deal with? Same principle. Feedly used to have one of the best examples interfaces and I would often hold it up as an example to other devs so disappointed to see this new update just makes it look and work like other generic timeline apps instead of a true Reader app Would rate 1 star since I can no longer use this effectively, but +1 bonus star for the developers keeping feedly classic around as a separate app though instead of removing it. I will be promptly switching to that instead.

You guys had such an amazing app. I just paid $65 for a renewal and got this update a week later. If it would have came out before I would have honestly cancelled my (years long) subscription. There is tons of feedback in the other posts here so I will focus on the things that bother me the most. 1) Compact view is now BIGGER. I also miss the slight lines separating each headline. It was so much easier to read. 2) Read later used to be quick hold and add/remove. Now it involves a pop up menu. Might I suggest a swiping function instead for boards or unread. The current UX adds unnecessary steps and makes what was once simple, really clunky. I respect Edwin and the team and what you guys have done over the years. I came to you after google reader folded up. I hope you guys consider some changes we are all suggesting. Or bring back a “Classic” version. I’d hate to look for another news reader app.

I can’t deal with cumbersome apps. Feedly your update made this app cumbersome. Seen some posts about classic version, how do I get that back? Biggest gripe. Swipe gestures are broken or missing. No longer able to open article inside app. Gotta go to safari to read the return back to feedly? No go. Flipboard hello...
Model711's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
The new layout ‘looks cool’ but the functionality is totally lost. I use the app for tracking new manuscripts that come out and I rarely have the time to go through all of the feeds. Now I have to click each article so that it’s ‘read’ or blindly hit everything old that 7 days or today. Not a lot of options guys ! Please return the read as I scroll at least. The update has made the app unusable for me and I’d have to find a new RSS feeder. 2stars because the old app was awesome.
Salecius's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
While I’ve enjoyed all the updates that came to Feedly over the years, the recent UI update is the one that makes the least sense as it took something that worked and did to it what I could only describe as an equivalent to “nerfing”. Not to go into too much detail, but one clear example would be to see what happens now when you’re at the end of your news feed. Instead of being presented with the all read page, you get this horrible mark as read button that is as unsatisfying as eating rubber, and what’s worse is what happens when you scroll past that button.

Doug Hellmann's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Since the “app feedback” link goes to the blog instead of a feedback form I guess this is the only way to report problems? The new UI does not handle the ' XML entity so feeds from newspapers that have quotes in their headlines are hard to read. The Classic UI does not have this issue. See The Independent for an example source. I also echo the previous reviewer’s comments about the lack of dynamism in the new UI. I think I’ll be switching to the classic app for now.

The longer swipe to mark everything on the page read. The new usability and redesign is nice to look at, but its a nightmare to scan through lots of content. Almost unusable for me - I filter through the articles before i get to reading them, and its now either too much effort and not worth it or leaves too much clutter. I also wish the articles would stay static on swipe - its would make it much easier and faster to scan through - its a lot harder to read and filter through quickly with the text moving when you swipe. You had such a good thing before! Please bring back those options. Raised my rating from one star when I discovered Feedly Classic on the app store. Thanks for that.
PeepingSpider's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I really tried to like the new version, but it takes too many steps to use. Im going back to the Classic Feedly, it has mush better functionality. Thank you for not disabling the original app!
tcwestdad's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Way too much screen space is wasted. A friend of mine (whom I recommended the app to) commented the same thing. At least on the iPad this is an issue. Phone isn’t as bad. Maybe you need an iPad app.
tigersan's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I love the Feedly application and have been using it for years. However, I am not happy with this latest release since it seems that they have removed support for zoom gestures in the application. This is an important feature to allow zooming on the text to make it larger and easier to read but then zoom back out to review more of the article. Please bring this feature back.
LeeGeeeeeee's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I sometimes think developers live in their own little universe and don’t really think through how things are going to work in the real universe.
cheeseandglory's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
The new UI is annoying, but more importantly, my feed stops halfway through my categories and claims it’s the end of new content. When I check the categories not showing, there are loads of new articles. It’s been doing this since the change and is making using Feedly increasingly annoying.
Campfly's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Turns all of your feeds into one continuous scroll of blah. The previous page layouts worked so much better for browsing.
Canisreevus's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Overall, I’ve been able to customize the new update to give a similar feel as the old app, so I can’t complain much. However, it seems that the simple swipe to mark as read gesture now often mistakenly scrolls the feed, which is super annoying. It makes it very difficult to quickly scan through feeds while marking read articles. Please fix this ASAP

I have no idea why people want to change an app that so many people use every day and are productive with. The latest “upgrade” is horrible. They reset all my settings on installation to a set of new horrible settings. The app crashes constantly or hangs with the spinning wheel or claims there is no internet when there clearly is. Once I read all my articles and refresh the page it claims there are over 1k of unread articles but there are none It is much less usable than it was before and is actually painful to use now It is clear very little testing was done on this new release as even obvious things were missed. It is too bad because I enjoyed Feedly and their reader. I guess I will have to find another option. Thanks for screwing up a perfectly good product

I cannot believe anyone could even like the new way that you set this up it’s awful I have been using your app since you first started I have always loved your app cannot believe that you changed it to this garbage it is complete utter garbage so glad that you still have the classic version it is very fortunate in my search for a new RSS reader I found that you had not totally give up on the old version I’m very happy and hope that you will keep old version around I don’t even see why people are even using this app it is on usable it’s worthless I do not like it at all and don’t understand why people would want you to change the best app for reading stories on the web I will definitely switch to Apple news or Flipboard before I ever use this app it is terrible Understand I very rarely ever review anything but I had to when you changed one of my go to favorite apps for years for total garbage. You should have made this a new app and seen how many ratings it got on its own to put it under all the good ratings of the old app is totally unfair I don’t understand what you guys are doing but if you continue on this path I am very scared that you’re going to go out of business when you’ve got something good why change it be like apple abandoning the iPhone for A piece of paper and a pen what you’re doing just makes absolutely no sense
Behold666's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
The latest update turns a 5/5 app into a 2/5 experience. Thank god they left Feedly Classic up in the store.
andyO_range's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
To me the best part of Feedly is the explore feed. I use it everyday and now it’s gone and so did my interest in the app
tiredoftrying78654's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Initially, I thought I had a bad connection, but it appears Feedly opted for a turn of the century layout. What a step back. I miss the graphics that caught my attention. Looking for a more interesting app.
Blorq's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Perfectly workable product destroyed by an awful update. Why do all RSS readers have to fall apart eventually?!?
Chicagouser's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Sometimes after reading the subscribed blog posts I get the prompt “You’ve reviewed three articles across four sources. Mark all as read” This only happens after I’ve read the posts, so why the prompt to “mark all as read”? I’ve already read the three posts (or “articles”) so is this asking me to mark all other unread posts as read? From that screen it’s hard to get back to the list of other unread posts. The old version used to just allow me to scroll through unread posts, and that was better. There seems to be a bug in the “recently read” section. I can’t see what I’ve just read but instead it’s showing me posts from a few weeks ago. Re-sorting doesn’t work. The app now tells me how long I took to read or skim through the posts. Is Feedly keeping track of that information? I like having a blog reader, but honesty the app was better before. Can you add a “classic” interface and can you add the option to opt out of any data collection about how much time I’m spending per post?
Jaynizzle23's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I legitimately gave this new version a week before I switched back to classic. Undoubtedly it’s cleaner, yes, however it is not as feature rich as the old one. Also I find the older one more intuitive. It’s much easier to read and go through article after article on the classic app. And isn’t that the point of this? To be able to read better, faster and more efficiently? Classic does a better job. Also I don’t understand the pocket integration. It honestly seems to work better in classic.
Railgummy's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I can live with new UI, although it’s not as friendly as the old one. What I can’t live with, is the way an app considers the article I’ve been reading as read if I switch to other apps for a while. Now I can’t read half of the article in my way to work and continue reading it in the evening. It’s just missing from the list of unread articles. What the heck? And the articles I actually have read sometimes keep appearing in the list. Thank god they left the old app, but now it’s grey and hard to find in the folders.
DarkRail's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Your formerly excellent program was my last link to the clear, concise world of RSS news. By modernizing, you’ve lost the direct, orderly presentation that was your (and RSS’s) charm. I expect I’ll now shift entirely to Apple News and the like. Sites I read have been slowly shutting down their RSS feeds anyway. This was just the final nail.
Jvalley967's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Regular user for years on iPhone 5, 6 & 7. V54 broke most everything good about app. Have given it a week and adjusted settings to get close to old functionality but no go. Do not recommend. Much less efficient to use, is not consistent on marking articles read. Was pretty good app.
Bob--K's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
This title is an example of the basic and frequent coding errors in article captions occurring in the latest update. Preferred previous layout of articles.
grogalski69's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I went back to Feedly Classic, separate app in the store. Thanks for that at least. New app is slow, unintuitive, and ugly.
JustBrowsing123's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I’ve used Feedly for a couple years now and preferred the iOS navigation with the ability to easily swipe a whole page as being read, as I read headlines and decide what to read. However with this new update, it’s all a scroll and you have to swipe every individual item. Hugely annoying and time taking. Roll back to previous version in this. Please!!!!
gwakie's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I've read some of the backlash and some do have valid points. Overall I think the developers addressed the usability on the iPhone. With the screens getting larger and larger and with most folks being right handed, the UI changes make sense. They've made it a lot more usable with a single have. The UI transitions are nice. Being able to tie an article to multiple boards at once is also nice. I'd like to be able to swipe it away when I'm done though, in the same vain of making it more usable by not having to reach the top button to close it. On the iPad I've noticed better support for the pencil where it was barely usable before. Thank you!!! I do miss the way the articles and images changed sizes and layouts when switching between landscape and portrait mode though, it felt more dynamic and engaging. Overall I love the changes. Great job guys!!!
ekrub's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Swiping up for payed scrolling used to instantly show the next page of articles. In the new UI, it scrolls up half as fast and leaves the last article at the top, which means I'm scrolling more and slower for fewer articles in the new UI. I used to be able to reliably judge how many unread articles remained by the scroll bar. In the new UI, the scroll bar is hidden and there's a little circle that completes as you read articles. That would be fine if the circle completed when I got to the end of the unread articles. Unfortunately, the circle often reaches completion and then just sits there unchanged as I flip through page after page of additional unread articles without any indication of when it might end. I've enjoyed Feedly as my primary tool for news reading for years. A week or so into the new UI and I'm starting to look for alternative news readers.
ServiceJoe's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Very bummed you guys decided to redesign the ui. Old app had more options. I enjoyed the swipe view. Old app was very simple, new one is convoluted while being less useful. You’re fixing what wasn’t broken. Also - purposefully drabbing up the classic version is a nice little flip of the bird to those of us who go to download it. You should have had Feedly update to ‘Feedly Classic’ and rolled out alerts of your new app.

bradley dean jones's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
The redesign isn’t terrible, I like. And the landscape mode is great. Especially at work when it’s sideways most of the time between this app and YouTube. This brings me to my least favorite part; it’s hard to open stuff in youtube now. If I click a video, why won’t it open in the YouTube app automatically?
Sirappsalot22's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
The larger pictures and formatting of the “classic” version were way better.
Bumblybreak's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I love the look and feel of the update in the phone format, especially the infinite-scroll. That must have taken a bunch of work! However, I was used to clearing a page of news articles five(ish?) items at a time and initially hated the new interface because it only let me clear items individually in magazine view. Now that I discovered “long pressing” a news article and the “mark above as read” feature, I’m absolutely in love! Feedly took my weird, hacky way of reading/clearing and made it super efficient; I just scroll/browse articles and clear/long press from time to time. This fits the mental map of how I use the app perfectly and I’m amazed they added this feature. The one improvement I’d make is to onboard the “mark above as read” feature more organically. When Feedly sees that I’ve marked a few items in a row as “read”, teach me about the “mark above as read” feature. I only discovered it out of frustration/disappointment that my old way of clearing articles was gone. There’s too much to learn in a big “onboarding” walkthrough. I was initially very disappointed in the app, but now that I know all the features, I’m absolutely thrilled at the visual refresh and usability improvements. Keep up the great work folks!

The continuous scrolling is not better vs the old page swipe. Please at least provide the option for users to choose!

What were you thinking ? You’ve fallen into the “we need to keep doing stuff” trap and take a HUGE step backward. The old flip interface was awesome. For those of us who speed read it gave is an anchor to berg quickly triage the headlines. This new infinite scroll UI is garbage !!! Thank you for preserving the classic app. Deleting this new crap and going back to something that works. Just awful.
Brandon from MD's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I originally rated Feedly - now the classic version - as five stars. This version breaks so many things I cannot take the time to list them. Skip it and get Feedly Classic until they figure out how wrong this change was. Some specifics - everything is bigger meaning fewer items fit on each page, scroll by page is inconsistent and shows partial cards that span pages, paging on the last page is not right, the Safari browsing mode toggle is reversed in sense, you can no longer pinch zoom pages in Safari mode, and much more.
CydeWeyz's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
Like the old version?
aaJaax's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
* lose net connection for even a second and all content needs to be reloaded, a news reader shouldn’t require “always on” internet, unusable while commuting or road trips * new interface is user unfriendly * opening a link in your browser resets feedly, so you will constantly be navigating back to your content, since many sources require reading the full article in a browser this will happen often * these problems did not appear prior to v54
tsmith409's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
The new design is horrible, and several of the key integrations I use (notably Evernote) are missing. It used to be simple to send an article to Evernote and have it look fine. Now I can “send to” Evernote (via iOS) but the articles are not formatted properly. The ability to open an article separately in a browser as opposed to in Feedly also appears to be missing. As a paying subscriber I will either go back to classic Feedly or find another reader because this is useless for my purposes now.
jbrandonf's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 8:11 AM
I’m adjusting, I dislike it less than when I first updated. I miss Safari webview but I’m getting on. One thing that I don’t like is the swipe up to close article function. Sometimes I like to jump right into an article and since the browser button is no longer at the top, I have to scroll down to the Visit Website button. But when I scroll quickly I can’t easily tell I hit the bottom of the article and the one extra swipe causes me to close the article. Now I have to tap on the article again and scroll slower to get what I want. What happened to being able to turn off swipe up to close? Or maybe giving an extra rubberband snap effect or two before close when someone is speed scrolling?
IgorKolker's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 12:42 PM
Mostly ok with the new interface. Happy that rotation works again, but why did you have to break zoom? No longer able to zoom images which makes a lots comics a pain to read. There is no reason for a UI update to break such basic functions.
doctorclack's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 12:42 PM
I’ve used Feedly since google reader was shut down and it continues to get better. This update is actually the first one that has compelled me to subscribe. It’s not a requirement but the deep pocket, Evernote and one note integration is fantastic.
mlk51's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 12:42 PM
Agree that it’s a step backwards. Even in compact mode, the information density is *much* less. Worse, I like to read some feeds in the original web page. The new Feedly no longer closes the Safari tab when I return to Feedly. I need to go into Safari and delete all the still open tabs.
MonstaMatt's Review of FeedlyReviewed on 12/14/18 12:42 PM
This was always my go to go tech news. It was so convenient to swipe up and see the different pages that I wanted to follow. Now when I open it for the first time in a few days it shows me 4 things. Now way to swipe up and keep reading different things. Please correct this.
