My original reason for my wife to upgrade to a smartphone was so she could get this app- she loves it, I enjoy it. One can instantly easily adjust a slider to change how many stars are displayed to match your weather or city light pollution conditions. This app is further perfected by the ability to pull up a star's info on wikipedia.

Awesome app. I use in the airplane where my iPad is connected to a WAAS enabled Bluetooth GPS receiver that knows my position within a few feet, and sends this info to the iPad or iPhone. Dev team, please get your app to use this info, it is a pain to enter LAT/LONG, especially when moving at 500 mph.

Use it with my GoTo to find objects to observe...what an assistant.

I love keeping track of the planets and constellations and this app makes it easy to do so

Problems with both phone and iPad. Looks like it is not being tested with latest iOS updates

Says wrong location at top of ap, I went here 3 years ago. I used to be able to point at bright stars and find the planets. Calibration seems off .

I travel to many places in the world and it is so enjoyable to find my way around the sky from different places on a clear night.

Location location location

...every time i reset my phone (about once a year) its impossible to find the app to re-download it. Goskywatch is not categorized under stars, stargazing, star watching or even “sky”. So it always takes me 10 minutes to remember the un-memorable name of the app. Which apparently isnt searchable in the app store unless we all remember the apps name.

Please stop popping up tips and marketing c*** when I launch the app. It's a paid app. Act like it. It would also be nice if it would remember the last Messier object I looked up so I don't have to keep looking it up. Leave me where I left off. And where's the NGC catalog already? Years later, still no expanded catalogs.

This has been a tool for re-engaging the archaic relationship with the heavens in my life. Let’s know where we are in the universe. The patterns of the stars once guided the life of our species. Tapping into this field of knowledge is a revival of the life of the human soul.

This is a great app that I use for personal use and teaching. The graphics are a big bonus too

I've had this app for years. Hadn't used it in a while. It has been updated massively! It is now amazing!!! It's ridiculously easy to use. It's very cool. I haven't written a review in ages, but everyone should experience this. It's gorgous!

I’ve had this app more than five years and I can’t recommend it enough. Easily locate planets, stars, constellations, and galaxies. Simple, clear elegant with easy to see info on distance, light years, and apparent plus actual luminosity. Worth the $$!!

Loving all the knowledge packed into this app. It is wonderful to sit and enjoy all the different Constellations and Clusters etc. I recommend this to all stargazers.

It really helps me find the best places to look for the desired objects.

I use this app every time Head to the desert. Sitting by the campfire and looking at the stars, it never fails someone will ask what star is that? This app has them all and stunning photos of the stars, planets, and amazing galaxies.

Love this app. Been using it for years and have turned many others on to it as well. I use it to see what planets are visible, and to learn constellations and stars. I also dig the feature to move scroll through dates and times to see what will be visible on certain days and times. This app is my side kick.

I’m an amateur astronomer with a really cool Celestron CPC 11 goto scope. The GOSKYWATCH app makes it so easy to find stars to align the telescopes computer to the celestial sphere. Once aligned we use the app to pick our stars, galaxies , planet and so on to observe. I dub this fantastic app “the amateur astronomers best friend”.

This app entertained and educated a group of 8 year old boys for hours!! Took their minds off of the coyotes howling in the distance too!!

I've used this app for years now! No problems with the iOS 10.3.2. I have shown nearly all my friends this app. Yea its a high dollar app! But for me to be able to set my telescope up and quickly go to what I want. That's amazing!! All the children I let look at it love it. When I get my telescope on the area they go WILD!!

Easy to use, very informative and beautifully crafted! I use it for astro photography and education. Many apps are either too technical or oversimplified. This is the one with the best balance for me.

This app has a tremendous amount of information to view and the quality of the presentation is excellent. You are able to customize your view to locate star constellations, or galaxies, or something of a mix. With this app you can see what the night sky will look like on a certain date. The reason I did not rate it 5 stars is the limits it has as to specific locations. It will let you establish a location by way of GPS coordinates, but unless you have that information handy or a way to look it up you are stuck with the choices the app offers. It would be nice if it could tap into Google Earth for position location gps information.

The sky watch app does not work nor does it move. It gets stuck. Does not orient it self even if I push it around with my finger.

I use this app all the time and love how it’s so easy. I’m always getting asked about it by others around watching me blurt out planet locations like I’m smart or something.

Having been fascinated with night sky observations forever, I find this the perfect companion app. If your interest is mythology and constellations, they’ve included a link to background info on each. Star magnitude, clusters, planets are all a setting and finger click away to enhance your night sky experience. Love this app!!

This app is the best for answering the question: what star is that. It's great for first dates too!

It’s hella dope

After showing my granddaughter Jupiter in the night sky with your app, she began to look for and find all of the plants in our solar system! She was giddy with enthusiasm. What I thought would be a nice 5 minute moment with my granddaughter quickly spiraled into a 20 minute, real time experience of our solar system! Priceless!

The most functional star gazing app I've found. You'd expect a lot at this price and goskywatch delivers. If only learning were always this cool! User friendly yet with extensive customization available.

Motion control needs fixing. Has trouble aligning initially and or staying aligned.

This is exactly the thing I always wished I had. Just point it at the sky and it tells you what you're looking at. Ever see a bright star and wonder if it's a planet? Now my iPhone can tell me. Augmented reality for the stars. Awesome.

An amazing app. I use it all the time.

At first when selecting a location l simply typed in a city name. Then I realized I needed to enter coordinates (there are sites that give these on Google Maps). Now I can confidently assess the sky on a given date by site. Now if I can only predict the weather... 🙂

It's a great look into the sky...when it works. Takes a few times to calibrate but when it does it is basically accurate. Can't look up Pleiades if you search for it

This app is great. For years I have tried to identify planets & stars. Now I can. I enjoy this app.

Very clunky when it comes to north, east, south and west. Calibration does not stay on but for a half second, therefore north, south, east and west are off, sometimes by 180 degrees! It worked fine until I made upgrades.

Downloaded this while with friends looking at a star next to the moon and it showed us Jupiter and everyone was amazed and downloaded it for themselves 👍👍

This app is amazing. My daughter and I will sit outside and locate the planets. She loves it. I love it. It is a must have for anyone who looks in to space.

This is a great app! It can definitely teach you a lot about the night sky.

I feel spoiled by the ease in which this app allows me to explore the sky. Great execution AND IT'S FREE.

Great options and is fast at rendering or announcing objects or constellations. Would like a soft switch to change constellations to alternate names such as the Greek, Roman or Persian origins. Reasoning/ example; when people are told to go to the Perseus constellations, they can't find it with this software or without knowing the alternate name for the given historical reference. Other than that, this app is gold.

Will use it all the time. Head and shoulders above the other astronomy apps.

Does a great job for the novelist and maybe the pros

This is by far my favorite app on my phone. It has helped me to understand my place in the cosmos and how I am moving within it! The very best.

Best app I have ever owned! I have had it fo years and love it whenever I am outside and not working.

I love it. I play with the controls all the time, spin it through time, watch the constellations circle with the seasons and time of day, follow the Milky Way, learn a lot about the motions of the sky and Earth. And of course all that info about celestial bodies. Amazing filtering and modes. It's just fascinating and well worth the upgrade to track comets. Has a red light mode, but kinda impractical unless the whole device is in night mode using Apple accessibility dimming. Not practical in a Dark Sky park where only red lights are allowed after dark. I hold this up to the sky outside at home, and I'm fine. I wish the center ID hotspot was MOVEABLE -- that would be a huge UX improvement. I strain to rotate an ipad with screen rotation on trying to train things into the center for the audio and visual identification. I wish the user view was more configurable so I can rest this on a table as if I were looking up at the sky. And better saved settings. Love it.

Super dank astronomy app. Seriously, very well done here guys and gals. Great for beginners and experts alike with a fun user interface that allows you to view, identify and interact with what you are seeing in the skies above or take control of the global star map and give yourself an education amongst the vast wonders of the universe of stars! Superb ole chap... simply superb, I say!

My definitive go to app for anything astronomical. Or use it for looking at constellations stars planets. I like the voice over. I just wish there was an easier way to move forward and backwards in time. The three rings are a little cumbersome to figure out. But other than that five stars.

I've downloaded like 5 of these apps and I've found this is the most useful one. I always use it when I go out with my telescope!

Whenever I want to know what that star in the sky represents. I pull up this app and it tells me exactly what I'm looking at simply by pointing my phone at its location. The app will even show me the location of planets, nebulas, and zodiacs out of my field of view. A fantastic tool for knowing that which is above us

Works flawlessly on iPhone 6S Plus. So much fun to use. Very informative and intuitive. One of the best camping apps of all-time. Customizable, enlightening and seamless.

This is the best app for stars and star watching. It's full of different settings and Info. The newest upgrade wat impressive! It's great.

A great app where I couldn’t understand much where to locate the stars until this came along. It’s so much fun to learn the visual way in a third dimension view! The hardest to find was a dim North Star, now I know where it is! Go for the stars!

Very well implemented and smooth. Has a ton of options for customization and shifting constellations future/past. I was afraid that the light from the phone would k*** my night vision but the app has a night mode that is surprisingly dim.

GoSkyWatch is the best astronomy app out there, period. It brings the universe all around you.

It is a really cool app you can see every thing that we have discovered and you can see through the earth and it also shows north south and east yes I am a kid

This is simply a great app. Easy/intuitive to use. Everything you need. Points you right to whatever you ask it to find (planet, constellation, deep sky object). Go for it.

This has great depth of information and the live tracking is simply amazing. The only flaw I’ve found is that it’s very modal. Once it’s tracking, it will no longer “go to” an object. It will only put arrows around it.
