Tabs is a pleasure to use, the auto scrolling, the favorites, the guitar tools, etc. when it works, that is. Sometimes you’re not able to login and when (not if) that happens, you’re kind of stuck. I switched to Notes, the app that comes with the iOS platform, because you can store files locally. Sure, I lose the auto scrolling and guitar tools, but it works absolutely 100% of the time, no logins for a third-party server to ignore.

Not what it used to be. Many of my saved songs don't exist anymore and the length to very many have changed (shorter).

I love the app and the new layout but the most recent update has basically rendered the app useless, the thing freezes and won’t let me click anything on the screen and it glitches so that the keyboard appears on the screen etc etc etc, love the improvements but work on the bugs!!! I want to be able to use all the features I paid for

I really want to passionately love this app. I really do. It’s got so much content, cool features, interesting collections. But oh my god, it’s sooooo buggy. The alphabetical list to let you jump to different parts of your list just does work at all. After 3 minutes of being open, the app lags MASSIVELY. You’ll tap a tap to open it and nothing happens. So you tap again and nothing happens. Again, again, again. Nothing. Then literally 5 minutes later, the same tab opens 15 times in a row all at once. Then to top it off, you often can’t navigate back to your main list. I usually have to quit it and restart just to use it at all. The tuning feature is a little buggy too. But the other stuff makes the app border on unusable at times. And I’ve emailed them easily 4 times and have gotten zero response. Nothing. Ironically, the app used to work great. And then they “updated” it. I’m only giving it 3 stars because the content is good. The app itself could be great, but in practice is terrible right now.

Looking for tabs I found a website that said “download our app to see these tabs” so, ok I did. Open the app and there’s some video of a fat guy saying “upgrade to pro to see the tabs!” GO AWAY you are a waste of time, bloodsucking leeches of the earth. Just beg for money on the corner if you are so desperate. Your app is trash and your methods are worse. Eat a fat one you bums.

Great resource for a me as a beginner. Helped me find some songs that I want to learn to play with easier variations , at least for me

Love the app. Been using it for many years now. Perfect for band set list with a click to get chords lyrics tabs. Wish it had ability to print playlists and adding songs to playlists somewhat cumbersome. I do most set list arrangement on my phone while traveling. Also miss ability to select version while song details are open.

So I guess Guitar Tabs went through a new update and now you have to be a premium member to transpose a song even though it used to be free? It’s pretty lame because I can’t really pay for a monthly premium account. Legit it’s just to transpose the song to a better octave and you have to pay even though I paid for the app?

Never had a bad experience. Can be a little buggy sometimes but I understand it may be the device. Thanks for always keeping me updated on my favorite chords and tabs.

Is this not maintained? The UI loses its mind on the larger newer phones.

I purchased this app 5 years ago and use usually at least once per day. Don’t shy away from the small price! It is a treasured favorite!

Congrats! You guys messed up your app again. It actually blows me away how reliable you’ve become at s******* up your own app. Every. Single. Update. How did you not notice the tabs are too small? The app is used on phones! Do you not have any form of QA? I have had your app for years and I can’t understand why I haven’t stopped. You are awful developers.

For one their website is a terrible experience on mobile devices in general, and then they try and force you to get this app. It's just full of advertisements and songs I can't learn because of the subscription they want me to pay for. I'd rather go look up the song I want tabs for on a computer or use some other completely different service on mobile.

This app/website has hanged my life. Started using ultimate-guitar 13 years ago and my folks couldn’t afford lessons. I wouldn’t be the player I am without this service.

This has been my absolute favorite guitar tab app for the last 6-7 months now. I can find just about every song I’m looking for, with some exceptions of course for bands that are less popular or well known. I’d have given it 5 stars but to be honest I had to knock a star off for this latest update they’ve done. Ever since the update, the app freezes up a lot and ends up force quitting and it's altogether just very glitchy. Also all the tabs I’ve saved to my favorites are showing up as saved chords only (which isn’t actually a big deal because when you open it your saved tabs are still there— but it’s still annoying). There’s also always been a feature for the tab pro section to mute or make certain parts (drums, rhythm guitar, lead guitar etc.) louder/quieter/solo mode etc, and it would always save your settings for that song so that every time you opened it you didn’t have to mess with it all over again. Now not only does it not save your settings, but it won’t even keep your settings when you’re already in that tab (so when you close that menu within the tab it immediately resets itself to the default volumes). My only other complaint, and it’s a minor annoyance really, is that every time you open a song in tab pro the interactive fretboard is automatically open at the bottom. You can hide it easily but again, annoying because this used to be something that was saved in your preferences, so you’re essentially setting every single preference over again every time you start a new song. So overall, love this app, has been my go to for tabs this year, but really not a fan of this current version. I’m hoping they fix all these new glitches because the app is otherwise fantastic!

Amazing for me tbh

Every time I use this app I get a message saying that the app is using an inordinate amount of resources.

The recent update is causing issue with the app crashing when I pick certain pro and official tabs. Also the section of the app where u can loop sections of the tabs in the pro tabs doesn’t work anymore. When I push the loop button it just picks a section it wants and you can’t expand or make the blue area smaller to fit the the parts of the the tab you want to loop. That was one of the best features of the app. Please fix this. I use a iPhone 7s plus. Don’t know if this is an issue with just iPhones or what but it’s nice when your working on a solo to loop the sections u want. I’ve been a long time prem customer and love the app but recent update has caused quite a few issues for me.

The only dispute i have is that if i dont want to m***** my eyes in light mode, i have to pay to get dark mode, which i never had to do up until recently. I get physically mad when something so simple needs to be paid for when ive had it for a while anyways. Just a thought, whatever.

im a self taught 15 year old, and with school going on it’s hard to put myself on a schedule to take classes, plus they can be expensive, and finding my own music online can be challenging, this app offers TONS of songs with auto scroll and finger charts for beginners. i bought the pro version, but the free version will work just fine if your just looking for an easy way to learn and practice. hope this helped !!

Stop charging account months after they've been cancelled. I did a trial with this app and months later I'm getting charged $14.99 and yet the app has been deleted off my phone for so long!! Please cancel that transaction. I've reported it in for fraud!

Before this app. Help me when I only knew two chords. It opened up a hole new world.

I have to say the app is amazing for beginners and pros alike to get songs and being able to practice it. When u first downloaded it I saw that I had to choose one instrument and I chose acoustic guitar. I paid for being able to access all the songs and it’s great I just have one request to switch back and forth between instruments like from piano to guitar or guitar to uke even if you have to pay for it.

After an update a few months back the pause button stopped working. I have to see the notes and remember them instantly as the track is playing. I cannot pause the tab and study the notes of interest. I didn't say anything before cause I assumed it would get patched, but in all this time it hasn't been fixed. Otherwise, best app for the intended purposes. I hope button is fixed some day :( Update: It crashes when I try to access a tab. When the tab does load, which is maybe 1 in every 20 tries, if I try to switch to a different instrument it'll crash too. Pretty much crashes if I try to do anything other than utilize the menus, sometimes it crashes even with just that. Shame, used to be the best app for its intended purposes.

I love how you can always come back to this app and feel how new it is but still somehow understand how to operate! It's design to aspire to. I definitely feel the love in this community! I saw the chance to buy this app and took it! Never looked back! P.S. A great song for any novice, that this app makes really easy, would probably be Mr. Brightside by The Killers.

This is a really nice app, it’s got most of the songs I want to play on guitar, ukulele and even bass! I really like how you can also create your own tabs of songs you know, the only part that’s not super great is with some songs you have to be a member, it’s a small fee but hey, a guys gotta make a living some how 🤷‍♂️, other than that I think it’s a great app!

The best app /assistant for the busy musician.

This used to be a useful app before they conformed to advertisements and forcing you to “upgrade to pro” Delete.

I’ve been using the website since about 2004 and subsequently the app. It’s by far the most comprehensive collection of song cords and tabs out there. They have seamlessly maintained my account and subscription throughout those years, all the while adding new features on a consistent basis. The tuner is great and the MIDI based “tab pro” feature seems a bit goofy at first but has really been quite helpful when I just can’t figure something out on my own. They also have a great collection of videos and articles. The app is a bit rough on the phone battery, so remember to turn it off when you’re done.

The old version was easier to navigate. You could loop as many bars as you would like. With this version I can’t loop more than one bar at a time on my laptop or I phone.

This app was super easy to use and great for using songs, but the latest update ruined the interactive tabs. Now I can no longer loop portions of a song longer than one bar at a time, the loop feature is one of the most important for me when it comes to learning songs. Please fix this!!

Good app for learning instruments

Forget trying to get any tab from this site. It is basically one big store front where all clicks lead to “BUY THE PRO VERSION!!!!!” Bye, Felicia. Update: I did end up buying the pro version and guess what. I love it- in a few short weeks I have learned songs I wanted to learn for decades. Like meeting old friends. So, I guess the pop ups worked but ok- I’m a happy camper.

I just wanted tabs for one song and this scummy app downloads and asks for my money? No thanos.

Very helpful

I like this app a lot and it’s the only guitar tab I use, but since the new update it’s not as capable with my phone. The way it was before, the tabs more bold and easier to see while I play, but now they use, what looks like, new times Roman for the tabs and are thin. When I put bring my phone sideways it cuts off the high e and b strings. I like this app but I think I might have to change it up.

Still has multiple issues. New features = Clunky hard to use Every update makes this app less usable. I can’t change my loop length, and the layout is terrible. I have an iPhone Plus so I have a pretty decent sized screen. I can’t think of how someone with a smaller screen would use this app. Stop making the app so “complicated”. Have your tabs fit to screen and go back to the old layout. The only reason I still use this one is because I already paid for Pro.

You need to pay to literally just start the app. Absolute waste of time and storage, do not recommend, and if you want REAL lessons, get them at a music store. Yeesh.

I’ve been using this app for a few years now, and earlier this year they gave me a free pro membership assuming my for using it for so long. Whosever idea that was is a pretty rad dude.

I just love this app it has helped me learn so many songs. I use this thing all the time. I would say that anyone who wants to get better at guitar or whatever would be well advised to get and use the app.

Easy to navigate and plenty of tabs

I downloaded the app hoping to be able to use it, untill it said 7 day free trial and then found out I had to pay $6.00 each month. There are websites that you can do this on and get the same results and pay no money. Don’t download it. It’s a waste of money and time.

For the MOST part these charts are amazing, and the play along setting on Pro which allows you to gradually get a song up to tempo is SO good. I didn’t pay for the pro version for a year or so, but when I did it made such a huge difference, especially being able to nail the EXACT rhythm. Great app, can’t wait to see where it goes next!

This was a great app, but now it never loads "My Tabs". It also takes forever to initially load, regardless of whether or not you are on WiFi or LTE.

Won’t let me in

So I download the app, and it somehow was able to pull data from my web browser and advertise to me the song which I had pulled up on the UG site in safari. Invasive, to the say the least. Not to mention, they’re purposefully crippled the site, in order to basically force you to download the app. Another stellar, customer-hostile move. I struggle to believe this rating is organic.

The app claims to support pedals but pedals like the Donner that emulate a Bluetooth keyboard DO NOT work! I contacted support about it and even sent them the ObjC code they need to add to make it work (which is only a few lines!) and still they haven’t fixed it. Update: it still doesn’t work. I got An AirTurn PEDpro recently and that doesn’t work either. Both pedals work fine with other apps.

I’m a music teacher who gigs on the side. I can always depend on My Tabs to help me SHINE! The options of chord charts have been life-saving especially when I’ve had to change the key up or down a 4th. Thanks GUITAR TABS!!!

I really enjoy guitar tabs. It makes it very easy to learn tabs and learn new songs. Guitar Tabs has been a really helpful tool while learning how to play guitar. There is one flaw though, a few months ago, I did a free trial for I believe 30 days. When it was done I deleted my pro account, but weeks later I found it was still saying I had a pro account. I checked my credit card to see if it was still charging me, and yes it was. I went to account settings to delete it, but there was no way to delete the account. I looked up how and it seemed impossible to get off my pro account. Sadly, I decided the only way to get off pro was to delete my account. I was very sad to do this because I thoroughly enjoyed using this app, but there seemed no other way around it. When I went to delete my account I found there was also no way to delete my account. I looked up how, but as before, it seemed impossible. I couldn’t just delete my account, I would still be paying for the account. Today still, I don’t know what to do. I would suggest you don’t get this app because they literally make it impossible to get rid of it.

I have been looking for an app like this for along time, this has helped me learn so many songs. The free version is not very fun to use but is only $1.50 a month for the premium version and it has been the best dollar and a half I have ever spent for sure. I am very pleased with this app.

Awesome app, I love to sing and play piano and this app has it all. I have found every song I need. It is AMAZING and I definitely recommend😁😁

I’ve played bass on and off for over 20 years. This year I got serious about it and this app is indispensable in learning to play new songs quickly. Little innovations like showing the location of the note on the fretboard while also informing me of the next note to be played allows me to prep, making each session with my bass more productive. I just started picking up drums, and I can easily switch between bass and drum tabs. Great app.

Usually I’m a huge fan of this app, I recommend it to all new and intermediate players. But whatever happened with this new update has made the app literally not usable. I mean it crashes every single time I try to open it. Haven’t been able to access my tabs in a week. What gives?

Listen this app is great, but like... why make dark mode premium? It NEVER was. Don’t make me pay for something that was literally put in the description as being free.

Selection is c*** for guitar tabs. But look they have pro tabs. Oh wait, you have to pay for it.

I use this app to find any song and play it right now. The convenience and features add to a very enjoyable experience for someone like me who has been playing for years. A go to device that has me amazing my friends and family, playing their favorite songs almost at will. Backing up people on guitar has been a joy for me and has made me a sought after guest at their party’s. Thanks again for enhancing my personal guitar experience with this learning device. I love this app so much. I've been using the website ever since I got my first guitar, and this app has helped me improve as a guitarist. With the most recent update, I am no longer able to see the end of the tabs once the song finishes. Seems like a problem with the borders in the app or something because they keep cutting out the bottom of the tabs. Please fix this so I can continue using this great app👍

I have been a devout user of Ultimate Guitar since probably 2008. I have always appreciated them as they always have always been a dependable source for me. Even when they finally created a smartphone app. I was all on board to pay for it. Recently, I decided to try out the pro side of things. I liked the features, but I have to admit, I hit a pretty rough spot financially, so I needed to cut back on a lot of small things. Like a monthly $7.99 charge. Well, after I couldn’t figure out how to cancel (users fault, I admit) I contacted UG and asked them to help cancel my subscription. They swore up and down that it was apples subscription and I needed to take it up with them. So I tried to figure it out to no avail. A month went by and I admittedly forgot because a lot went on. Another charge. So I contacted UG. Same response swearing up and down it isn’t them. So I contact apple and they point out that it is UG making the charges. I finally figure out how and where to manage my subscription and cancel it. I know I am at fault for being an idiot and not knowing how to cancel it myself. But why in the world would you guys not just help me out?? Screw you and I hope that extra cash you got from me makes all the difference in your lives.

Awesome app with loads of tabs. Has a few times where the tabs lag a bit, but other than that great job.

The ease too use this mostly for lyrics and a reminder here and there of what some chords are awesome and convenient.

I’ve been using this app for years. They list of songs are seemingly limitless. It is so easy to use and I love the extra features. AWSOME!

Pro version is supposed to provide backing track capabilities but I’m finding it VERY tedious and limited!

Soulful country. Sawyer Brown great musicians. Hard to beat Mark Miller. Nice to find a good collection of songs for a baritone voice. Good clean lyrics that tell meaningful stories. And good party songs too.

On my iPhone 7 Plus, the zoom capability is horrible, and the loop is unresponsive, you can’t position the loop start and end handles, they are just stuck in the bar that you are currently playing. You had an app called tab pro which was amazing, but no longer supported. Why can’t you just make this app work as the previous one. One star until this app is useful for pro tabs.

I play in a band for years and have tried other apps, but I find Ultimate Guitar Tabs to be the most comprehensive tool for music. I also appreciate their constant pursuit of perfection through updates and customer request response! Gotta have Ultimate!

This app has practically any song you could want. It helped improve my guitar playing a lot, and you can press the chords you don’t know to see a diagram. I’m so happy this app exists!🤩❤️

It’s really helpful no matter what level of skill you are at

I’ve been playing for 3 years without a tutor and had trouble finding songs that are new. Not only does this have chords it has lyrics, note tablature, back tracts, strumming patterns, and one most pro tabs it has rythem guitar, bass lines, and lead guitars. It also has about 10 versions of tabs for every song. I RECOMOND GETTING PRO FOR TEN DOLLARS A YEAR IT HAS TONE BRIDGE, TUNER, AND CHORD LIBRARY. It also has auto scroll that u can adjust the speed to, great for concerts. AND THE PRO IS ONLY 12 BUCKS A MONTH.

I used to be able to use this app for helping figure out lead parts of songs, and as a visual aid for friends to follow chords, but now with the incessant bombardment of advertisement and the constant pressure to get the ‘pro-tools’ the app has become too much of a marketplace and not enough of a tool to use. The worst part is that I paid money to download the app in the first place. In any case, I’m pretty unhappy with the app, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who appreciates the value of their investment.

I used Ultimate Guitar when it was only a website. Now that they have an app with their chords & tabs... I couldn’t be more pleased. Also... you can save your favorite songs’ chords/tab so you can quickly access them and practice, practice, practice. I use it to keep track of the songs I have learned and for quick practice sessions. If you want to learn a song... it’s likely here. If it isn’t, you can figure out the chords/tab and add it yourself. Happy Picking!!!

So I’ve been a member on this app for 3+ years. I’ve never payed a penny for PRO as I really just wanted the simple features. The only con was without PRO I could only use the tabs on my phone and not my IPad without paying. So deal by deal went by and I was very tempted, but I never took them. I loved the app and used it all the time and decided I didn't need PRO. But one day I woke up and since I had been a loyal member for so long they gifted me PRO for FREE! After I had PRO I found out about all the amazing things that come along with it. This app is amazing and PRO is worth your money, if you play guitar often. Honestly if your on the fence just get the app use it for a while then just wait for a deal to come around. The developers are amazing and the songs are accurate. Thanks to the developers for the amazing gift! Gonna use this app forever!

They make you pay 6.99 for an app that’s virtually unusable without paying even more for a pro membership.

I used Ultimate Guitar for many years on my browser, as it was one of the best websites out there for guitar tabs and chords. After you pay for this ridiculously overpriced app, be prepared for features to suddenly be disabled, only accessible in the “Premium” version of the app. Not to mention many tabs are simply unavailable because they were “removed at the request of the publisher”, and, conveniently, the only tab that is available requires “Premium” - translation - they want to rip you off even more. Save yourself the frustration and don’t waste your money on this money-hogging app.

You get nothing of use without paying....paying for sheet music that’s free by any other means. Take this garbage clickbate app off the App Store.

What the h*** is this update? I shouldn’t have updated it! Whenever I open a song tab, not only does it now open as an instrument I don’t play (before, it remembered the one I had selected previously) making it more tedious to keep choosing the right one (an extra step I shouldn’t take!), but it doesn’t save the sound options at all! Let’s say I want the drums to play softer, so I move the slider all the way to the left...well when I click off the instruments panel...it goes back to the way it was before! It doesn’t remember my modifications! This app is worse to use than before! The point of updates is to make things *more* useable, not less useable! Please fix this issue!

This is app is great... except for the fact that I saved too many chords and tabs, and now it won’t open the chords folder at all... so... that’s a draw back.

I’ve been using this app from my friends phone but now I downloaded it on mine. I use it for the piano as I transpose the chords but it is great! Hopefully they will make a piano and clarinet version as well.

A few weeks ago I updated this app and I thought “oh a new update” and when I open the app it was all different What pro tabs used to be is all changed Now the songs sound like they are wrong The bending sounds are weird Songs like pride and joy by stevie ray vaughn now don’t sound like them that much And any other songs Although I do love the new standard notation setting so now instead of tabs we get actual music notes But still I miss the old ultimate guitar tabs Before this update it was perfect I could look up a song And learn it with ease Now I go to a song It doesn’t sound like they used to Now they’re weird stops during the song with notes ringing out for a measure too long I love this app but y’all should’ve kept the old version and perfect that one Have a good day And I hope someone sees this

I’ve been using this app for easily over two years now, and ever since then it’s been great. It’s offered almost every single one of my favorite songs since the beginning. My only problem is is the lack of being able to transpose without paying. I transpose to avoid using a capo, and now I can’t sans a payment. I strongly dislike that and hope it gets fixed soon.

I’m supper happy that the devs on this app actually listened to my last comment! They fixed 1st and 2nd ending in tab pro so it actually works now. That said I can only give three stars because the song title now covers when the repeats are in landscape mode. Very close and honestly if you fixed this instant five stars. This kind of listening to the customer base is why I buy what you guys offer and tell everyone around me to buy it too.

This has allowed me to get a lot of music together for my praise and worship team at church, and we can transpose quickly to where we need it.

Terrible search function, tries to get you purchase additional material constantly. I caved and downloaded this because every time I looked up a song through the browser the s***** website redirected me to the App Store. I wish I hadn’t. I just need to use azchords or an alternative website from now on. Includes numerous poorly transcribed tabs and often the chords do not match the words for timing. They really need to curate their content. Any jabroni can add poor info to this collection of unsearchable garbage

Perfect app for learning new songs

This app is great! I like being able to find songs via iTunes and being able to slow down the tabs to learn and the option choose certain song parts to practice.

I accidentally subscribed and they won’t give me a refund, totally not worth it.

Perfect if you’re into learning a song. Every song is on this app and all instruments are on it too, even ukelele! If you want to pay the price it’s a perfect little tool to learn all sorts of music.

I've tried this app at least 4 times in the last couple of years. While the added features are nice, stability problems continue to frustrate me. Searches crash the app, the app decides to crash on its own, or you finally get to your tab, and the app freezes. This makes it very frustrating to use. If I were the app manager, I would hold off on the bells and whistles and fix the base operating system so it doesn't crash.

This is amazing that it has overwatch and the left 4 dead theme songs! Keep making more

This app is absolutely essential if you have a life and get jammed up from time to time. I do metal work daily and if my creative juices aren't flowing then I open this app turn up the stereo with my fav music and play along, Then after a session I'm good to go back to work. Although some sessions lead into the night and then back to work the next day. Cheers to this app and those that contribute to it. Gratefully, Kevin

I love Ultimate Guitar. It’s easy to use and convenient because it’s usable on multiple devices. It’s wide range of songs makes it great for any user. The tabs themselves are very helpful and the star ratings make it easy to find the best version. I’m a self-taught guitarist, so for any beginner that wants to learn them self, this app is how to do it!

Having my playlist in this format makes my practice time more efficient and enjoyable.

Sometimes I’ll hear a song and I’ll check to see what chords or lyrics are before I forget all about it. Usually I can find the song. Or if I need to tune on the fly. Great app for any guitar player.

Have had this app from the time it came out and used and enjoyed. As of today, the tabs are so small that I can’t see them and the app no longer has any use. Please change it back

Great tool

This site has changed a lot and not for the better. Tab moderators are aggressive and don’t seem to share a love for the integrity of diverse music. They should allow for more of a community based tab approval process, from people who are also familiar with the material. The site gives tab moderators too much power. The app is weird it wants access to your media and hardly adds any more convenience to an outdated interface. It crashes. They should add more personalization to people’s profile. They should also add an interface that allows one to easily view profiles. Instead of essentially spoon feeding generic content to people, showcase people’s tastes and cater to the individuals who share love for the same bands.

This guitar app is incredible! First, almost every guitar chord I’ve ever searched for is here, peer reviewed & submitted in different keys. Then it scrolls through the cords at any speed you choose so you can play through the entire song in one shot. Lastly, many of the songs are linked to the YouTube video of that song so you can play along with the artist. I LOVE this app & highly recommend it!

Just started looking at this app and I love it. The articles are outstanding and I find it hard to put it down.

I love this app so much! The unlimited is worth every penny! I use it for acoustic gigs and when songs need to be learned on the fly, and it’s incredible. If I could add any features it would be a filing system for multiple set lists (so that you wouldn’t have to scroll through your entire collection, but to be able to group certain songs together for easy access) and a feature that would allow you to mark up/paint on the music for side notes, vocal cues, etc. I’ve played with people who leave notes out or want me to only sing certain backups and I have to try and remember on the spot 😂 if there was a markup/paint feature I could just scribble on the music, and get it done with no worries. But even still, UG has CHANGED THE GAME! GET IT! You won’t regret it! Every guitar player needs this, you’ll save so much time when you’re in a bind to learn a lot at the last minute. 🤘🏻

IPhone X. Up to date freshly installed app. “My tabs” still won’t load and crashes the app. Years of this. Only app that makes my iPhone run hot. In response to developer’s note... I don’t know what else to say to describe the problem. There’s a “loading circle” that runs endlessly until the app crashes. Sometimes on rare occasions, “my tabs” successfully loads only to crash the app within a few minutes.

So smartly designed and executed.

This app is absolutely useless unless you subscribe and start paying for access. Everything is locked behind pay gates and it seems like everything you click on prompts you to start a subscription. They went way overboard on this one. My advice: skip this corporate money machine and find a good free site that doesn’t ask for your credit card every five seconds.

This is my primary source for tabs. There are no true alternatives, but for the most part my experience has been good. The app asks a lot for you to buy Tab Pro - they will often ‘discount’ the package, making it closer to $10 instead of its original $30. I bought it at $10, almost entirely to stop the messages. The app also doesn’t let you zoom out on standard tabs, forcing you to put your phone into landscape orientation or to scroll right every line. Neither of these are ideal for my typical use of the app. **EDIT - the developers have since enabled zooming on standard tabs. Plus one star, I’ll put it at 4. Thank you for your responsiveness!** Lastly, printing is inconvenient and basically useless. For such a large tab provider, you would think they would nail down efficient printing. Most songs require 3 pages - including the Guitar Tabs header and additionally unnecessary information. At the very least, add a user-friendly printing option that uses (ideally) 1-2 pages per song, with smaller font and additional customization. Ultimate Guitar is not loved. It’s customer relations ranks right beside EA. But it is the best option, and it offers a very good number of songs. If there’s a song I want to learn, there are usually pretty good tabs for it. Still, though, we shouldn’t all cave in and spend the $10 like I did. Ultimate Guitar needs to cover these issues, as well as others less pertinent to my experience, to raise its rating. Thing is, it’s not just mine that would bump up. Everyone would want to rate a great guitar app (which this can be!) 5 stars. I want to. I hope to report back as such, but I can say I will continue to use the app regardless. There is no other choice.

Save the “it costs us money” for you to sniff a tab thing, it’s not relevant. This app purports to be one thing (a helpful guitar learning tool) but is really a bait and switch subscription generator and info collector. You won’t be able to do much without paying. One screen of tab w pop ups and *constant* subscription asks.. Fine, it’s a fee based information collection tool (expensive one at that), just be honest about it.

Ultimate guitar, fix your sh*t. What was wrong with the app before the update? The new update isn’t working. Can’t even play the songs on tab pro.

This is a great tool. I grew up scratching up my LPs. Ruining cartridges. So I’m super happy to have quick tabs at my fingertips, AND I’m a southpaw. And the lefty option is right there in settings. I don’t always have a long time to play, and this helps me cut to the chase.

I’ve been a supporter of ultimate guitar for year because it has the largest selection of tabs and the best user interface of any app I’ve seen. However the recent redesign of this interface is a huge mistake that I hope to see fixed. I have no problem with a new look, but certain key features have been removed. -the auto scroll used to have a very precise speed selection, going to two decimal places, now you can only choose from one, which is a problem if you want a tab to scroll at .65 -the top and bottom part of the display screen no longer retract. On a small phone such as mine, these areas (containing the back button and autoscroll) are wasting almost 1/4 of my screen space, making tabs difficult to read. When I start to autoscroll, these toolbars should retract. -the new interface is incredibly slow. This could just be due to bugs, but after a few rounds of updates it is still significantly slower than the older design. I hope these problems will be resolved soon, the usability of the app is currently drastically reduced.

Just now starting at nineteen years old but most of my family has always sand and played guitar so I love this app. Some time it doesn’t have exactly what you need but most of the time it does. It helps me learn new chords, and if you get the pro version ,which I think is worth it, it scrolls for you and you get the pro chords for the songs. Over all I think it’s I pretty well built app!🤙🏻👍🏻

Figuring out the right chords for a song is not easy for me, even though lots of songs require only four chords. This app gets you started. You may want to tweak the song a bit to fit your voice and style, but it’s a beginning.

I dislike that I need to pay for features that should be free. Such as auto scroll. I’ve had this app download for a while, before you had to pay, and it was so helpful especially since I was a beginner guitar player. Another feature that I used was transpose but recently I haven’t been able to use that option. Before all this “pay this much for this ‘special’ feature” I enjoyed the app and learning how to play. I still enjoy learning to play, I just hate how I have to pay to properly enjoy learning.

I bought the pro version to send songs to my FORSCORE app for set lists. I just updated and now that is NOT AN OPTION. I WANT MY MONEY BACK, unless there’s a fix! But mainly I want it to work...I added a star because someone actually responded!

A lot of the songs that I love to learn and play are not very well known, and yet ultimate guitar has almost all of my favorite songs with a variety of way to play them and instruments to play them on. Since I got the app I have been playing my Ukulele much more and I am also learning new chords and techniques rapidly.

Most convenient, easy to use, guitar app out there with the largest data base of jams. Had it for years and doesn’t let me down.

I am a long time user of UG, both website and app. But for some reason this app just will not work on my iPhone X. I've deleted and reinstalled, hard reset on the phone, etc etc. But when I tap 'My tabs' I get the spinning wheel forever, and if I backtrack and search for the tab, the entire app crashes a few moments after loading it. Even worse, as long as the app is installed on the phone I can't even use the web version because it launches the app...which then crashes after a few seconds. ARGH.

I so appreciate this app’s endless catalog of tunes. So many times I have though “this is a long shot but I’m going to see if it has this obscure song...” and then sure enough, it does! I love how the content is open sourced, creating a massive library suitable for players at all levels. It’s my go-to app when playing music with others.

Ive been trying to unsubscribe a couple times but it’s so complicated that I actually think it’s so that it’s on purpose to keep drawing the fee! If this is read by someone at Guitar tabs, please help me out.

As a lifetime member, I have learned to play hundreds of songs. When I signed up, I barely knew a few chords. Since then, I learned to read tablature. I play rhythm and lead now. UG has everything you need to learn guitar. Chord charts on screen and even lyrics and the videos of the song so you can play it just like the bands you love. Search for thousands of songs and bands and save them in your favorites. Get this app man, you won’t be sorry!

I started with your app and just blinked at it a few times. Updated it. Got mad at it (me not knowing how to use it...not taking the time). One day I noticed auto scroll. BINGO! What a cool concept. How can this be any easier.... even for a beginner like me. Advance three years, I have a custom elec baritone ukelele which I don’t call a ukelele. It looks like a Fender Jazzmaster. I don’t want to “be” a ukelele. Lol. I want to “be” something else with four strings because I dont believe I want to play six. I inherited my Mom’s ‘68 D-28 Martin BR and enjoy the top four strings. Maybe with your help, I may actually play six. Keep making it easy for me. Thanks so much.

No matter what stage you're at in guitar... Beginner, intermediate, or experienced, you'll find great and accurate tablature for almost any song. As a matter of fact, I haven't searched for a song yet that wasn't there. Most all songs have different tabs written by different ppl and you can vote on most accurate. You can choose chords, tabs, or tab pro for them all. There's extra for a small cost but it's definitely worth it. Get it and play!!

I went on the website to look for chords for a few songs, but it wouldn’t let me view them without getting the app. So I downloaded it and find while a lot of songs are available, it keeps bugging me to subscribe for more features....looking at the history, it looks like a lot of the features used to be available for one-time feea, but everything is only accessible via subscription now... I did try a different app (GuitarTab)...not as extensive library as this UG but has cheap flat fee for some of the features (e.g., guitar pro tabs access and auto scroll—but again not as extensive features as UG) that UG wants for a subscription....

Use Ultimate Guitar for all of my events and it is great. Remembering lyrics can be tough when a million other things are going on and this tool gets me through the night. Thanks all I would like would be to be able to add notes for my own use other than that best app I have used.

WOW. This app has everything. Every tab I look up is dead on. There is a simplify feature, chord guides, transpose, and even Ukulele chords! I learned to play a whole new instrument using this app. Bravo!

I love that you can look up almost any song and it will be here! It also has great playlists for whatever mood you feel like playing. Another great feature is that tells you what kind of feedback each chord/tab has which is also pretty great. 10/10 would recommend

This is by far the best guitar app of all time and in all the entire universe. It helped me become a better guitar player from day one, and I’m still using it to get better every day.

I’ve been playing for over 20 years and I’ve seen various apps and web sites that offer tab for those that are seeking to learn a new song. All have their pros and cons. However, this app provides the most comprehensive collection of tablature that I have seen yet. It ranges from the simplest chord structuring for the beginner to the most complete, or official, tab for the consummate professional. I am more than pleased with this app and will be happy to keep it for a long time to come.

I got a guitar when I was nine, never played it. One day I picked it up and decided to learn. I tried watching videos on YouTube but they weren't helpful. Then I stumbled upon ultimateguitar.com. I found a song I like and looked up the coresponding chords on google images. Looking back, I sucked, but now I'm thirteen, self taught, and a lot better. I wouldn't of discovered this tremendously large part of my life it wasn't for Ultimate Guitar.

Chords are put together pretty well and the tabs are good and sound nice. The only issue I have with it is a small glitch when you rotate your phone the app moves the place you were to somewhere 15-20 down the song.

The app has recently been updated. I must say that I'm enjoying the new style a little. It has its ups and downs, but there's one bug that has arrived along with the update that is threatening to ruin my experience. Every time I open the app, I can only play one tab. After I've opened that tab, I am forced to close the app entirely so that I can hear the audio for another tab. I hope that the fix comes soon. Other than that, I love everything the team has been doing with the app. I can't wait to see what more they all have in store.

I’ve been hacking at my old garage sale treasures, a 1968 Martin D35 & 1962 D35-12 guitars since I fell in love with the song Landside by Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham, some 40 years ago. Then I learned songs by the likes of The Eagles, James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg and so on. As a broke kid I remember spending hours and HOURS trying to figure out what chords or notes these artists were playing. NOW, the answers are seconds away! Thank you a TON UG! I’m so glad I bought the subscription for LIFE when it was available!

I have pro and it even says I do under my account but I cannot access any pro tabs.

There is no point in downloading the free version, no way to print or share. Better off just using the website.

I bought the pro version to send songs to my FORSCORE app for set lists. I just updated and now that is NOT AN OPTION. I WANT MY MONEY BACK, unless there’s a fix!

Perfect for Musicians that just want to find simple chords arrangements to their favorite songs and jam out

I’ve been using this app for years and I’ve never had any problems. But the past few times I’ve used it, I get a little aggravated. It won’t let me save songs to my favorites or create playlists. Hopefully this can get solved soon. My acoustic shows depend on it! :)

I’ve been using this app for years and I’m pretty upset. It was great before. I’ve already paid for this app, for all of the features it came with, and now upon redownloading it, they’ve taken away all the features I ALREADY paid for, and they want me to have to pay for a subscription every single month! I already paid for the app, and all the features it came with, is that not enough?

I canceled my subscription and they billed me the same day I canceled it. When I went to report a problem iTunes replied that this purchase was ineligible for a refund. 👎🏼

I love this app because of all its features and tabs that it has. My one big problem with it is when I try to edit other tabs. The keyboard blocks part of the tab and there’s no way to scroll and edit other parts of the tab on the phone or iPad without copying the full tab and using another app to edit it. Also, on the phone version, when you finish editing your tab, there’s no way to save it because the keyboard blocks it. I’ve tried to close the keyboard but it only works on my iPad. When I do somehow manage to save the new edition of the tab, it doesn’t save it completely and only gives me the first few lines of the song. I really love this app but editing on it is terrible. Besides that issue, it’s pretty great app.

Best app out there for a beginner guitarist like me, to help me learn the ropes of playing the guitar.

Tabs are way to small and looks like you made a copy of a copy. The lay out was perfect before this update now I will use something else like YouTube and another app.

I’ve been playing guitar now for some time, but it’s just recently that I really started pursuing to be skilled. I’m really liking what I see in this app. It’s easy to navigate and there are so many songs and versions of songs to choose from.

Crashes within 10 seconds of opening the app.

If your learning anything from bass to piano you can do it here 10/10💜

i probably use this app more than any other on my phone. it’s such a great app with an incredibly large database of songs. i would recommend this wholly.

Crashes, constantly wants you to purchase new upgrades and the collections section is effectively broken because if you continue to scroll down the app will crash. Save your money

I’ve had this app for a few years before I decided to buy the extras. As an Person of Brown Complexion Who Loves ALL types of Music......It would Also Be So Awesome to See Names of African and Brown American guitar played riffs and songs. Like Milton Nascimento of Brazil, K’naan of Somalia, Cree Summer and other African American popular music. I do Love this App other wise. Can sit up for hours check’n out other tabs of song on My iTunes Like “Yes band”, Queen, Sting and Songs from the 70’s! Love it!

I first downloaded this app in 2013, when I first picked up a guitar. Through thick and thin, through every song I’ve ever learned, through every frustrating night spent flailing across the neck of the guitar trying to get that one lick right, this app has been with me. I’ve never had a guitar teacher one in my 5 years playing, but because this app, I have the ability to look up basically any song I want to play, and learn it myself. This app has guided me my entire time playing. Thank you so much for this.

This is by far the best app for guitar, especially if you like to play acoustic, great tool, wish it was around in 1980 when I was starting out and we had to learn everything by ear or chasing down expensive tab books

I personally love this app so much because I can pretty much play any song. They have millions of songs on here and all you have to know is basically the basic chords on a guitar! I recommend this to anyone who plays guitar!

I am so grateful this app is available. I use it on the daily and I love everything about this app. It really motivates me to keep growing as a musician and I don't have to take any classes. It makes learning guitar a lot easier , I love the “listen “ feature that helps with learning the correct strumming. I especially like the songs that include the strumming pattern. An explanation of the strumming throughout the songs would be helpful rather than just the intro.

I have learned and gotten better at many songs from this app! I just wish there was an easier way to tune it to certain songs instead of having to find out what tuning it is than going back to the tools to change it

I’ve used the web page for maybe 10 years now, hands down the best place to find tabs—but it was garbage on a phone. Now, it is potentially better than the website. I really like the “for you” selection, it constantly feeds you songs to lear that you might not have otherwise thought of playing. A+ ultimate guitar... A+ 👍

Ultimate Guitar is amazing. I’ve been playing guitar for about 8 years and I wish I would have found UG a lot sooner than I did. It has really helped. Although, there are a few things that kind of bother me. There is a certain group that when I try to look up there songs, it says tab not available. I do not think that this is Ultimate Guitar’s fault though it still kind of frustrates me. Another problem that I find is when I try to browse through all of the different collections. I’m usually only able to go through about 10-15 collections until the screen glitches and it automatically takes me back to the beginning. It didn’t do that when I first got the app, so I don’t know why it randomly started after I updated for the first time. Besides those two minor issues, Ultimate Guitar is easily one if the best music apps I’ve found.

I love this app for grabbing the tab or chords for a new song to learn over the weekend. I wish they’d include a way to switch chord diagrams for different instruments, guitar/Uke/mandolin.

I am a guitar player I started early but when I started playing I had no one to teach me. A few years later I learned the basics but not any songs and when I found this app I fell in love with it I didn’t have to go anywhere to learn songs, I give this app 5 stars

Amazing! Just got the app but already fascinated with all what I can do. I’m learning to play guitar and ukulele and it’s wonderful for the chords!

Some things are showing up now so may just be a server problem. Original: Not sure what is going wrong. I search for a song I'd like to play but all I ever get is an all black screen. Good idea, maybe it's a bug, but literally all I get is the same screen when I use the app as I do when I turn my phone off.

Too many in app purchases. Nothing makes me want to buy their products because I cannot use them because I get an ad shoved down my throat

I love this app. I got my ukulele only at the beginning of this month and I’m already playing upbeat and fun songs. This app is so helpful and so useful! You don’t need to have premium in order to learn from this app! I LOVE playing songs that I also hear on the radio. This app is so cool and a must have for new player, like me!

Love it—- a must have app!

I’ve had this app for a few years now, and I have to say I’m not happy with it anymore. I bought the full version of the app in 2014-2015 on my android for somewhere around $12, which at the time was pretty steep but it came with every tool and pro tabs so I was satisfied. Fast forward to 2016, I went to download the app again from my iPhone, only to have to repay for the same things DESPITE still having an account. Alright, I thought at the time, I can see why I would have to do this seeing as it’s from a different app store and all. Bought the full version again. Now today, I open the app to retune my guitar, and i’m blocked because i’m not subscribed. Not subscribed? To what? Things I already paid for? All the tools, Tab pros and such, now locked behind a subscriber paywall I was never even alerted about ahead of time. You want my subscription? Give me back all the money I gave you first.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good app and does what I need.. however, years ago the older versions were a lot snappier, and that was with older devices. I’m assuming they switched to pulling the playlists and tabs from online, every time. Every change I want to make or even pulling up the search bar takes longer than it should. It’s like everything being server-side instead of client side, if that makes sense. Then it ends up needing to be restarted after long enough, and sometimes the edit tab feature hasn’t worked. If they stored more data locally and just tried to sync things quietly in the background while all my favorites came up with no delay.. I used to have 100s of songs that came up instantly and the list never had to buffer as I scrolled. Those are the only things keeping me from 5 stars right now.

Do not download. Total scam!!! They charge you without your consent!

Combined with regular practice and online tutorials. This app has been a primary factor in the gains that I have made. Still so much to learn. Im so grateful that these tools exist, I'm not sure i could have done this 50 years ago!

It just doesn’t get better than this!

This app is easy and fun to use. I learned how to play guitar on it and it’s awesome.

This used to be a solid guitar tabs app, but now you have to have a subscription for almost everything, for someone like me who can’t have access to internet 6 months out of the year it’s a little frustrating, now don’t get me wrong, it’s still good for the tabs, but I don’t like that have to get a different tuning app so I can tune my guitar.

If you wanna start playing guitar just learn the chords and download this app. It can even teach you the chords. I became a great guitarist with this app it was so so helpful!

When you’re learn the guitar, it fun to have an app that rocks. This app has been a super, reliable help to me.

I can’t say that I think the new subscription based service is better than the old way, but I had a very prompt response from a developer about that very issue and I think that says a lot about the quality and integrity of the company, UG will always be the best option for tabs and chords

I think apps that are community driven are the best. You have so many options between tabs, chords, and even the interactive ones you pay $1.50/month for. Personally, I think that’s a steal. Definitely recommend this to all guitarists and bassists.

Are you new to playing guitar I am learning on the base. When I seen this app I was really excited. However after downloading it I’ve tried for several weeks to get the app to give me tabs for baselines. After having been on successful and having sent several messages to customer service and never having received anything back other than an automated response to my inquiries I have canceled the subscription. And deleted the app has not done well it advertised and I will not be recommending this app. On the flipside to anybody wanting to play regular guitar I think this is a good learning tool seemed to be all I could get out of it was regular guitar tabs

I am finding the interface fairly easy to pick up right off the bat. It wouldn’t allow me to choose my own username—I’m not sure if it was something I did or not, but can’t seem to change it. Will re-evaluate after some actual usage.

This app can potentially replace guitar classes. With a little bit of work, I think this app could legitimately reach app of the day/week. Highly recommend this app for people who would like to start playing the guitar/ukulele. ♡
