Don't waste your money. Tried using this with iRig2 as advertised and it doesn't work. Direct from my bass guitar very low audio input into app. Going from my bass through my Behringer 802 mixing board really got bad distorted input. Tried other source methods all with bad results.

I’ve had this app on multiple iOS devices and have enjoyed using it. Simple interface, file system, and sound quality is good.

You can’t punch in and you can’t really mix. But it gets it down.

I will not deny that I dream of being able to record from the desired segments, for example to correct an error without having to sing the whole song. I know it takes time to add features like this, but I'm hoping to see that function of punch in. So far my favorite app through the years.

I usually don't rate stuff but I figured I'd throw the developers a bone because this app is really handy. No bells and whistles, just a good interface, and it runs well.

Waste of my time and money. No support at all.

This was my go-to app for workaday recording. Now it has garbled sound on my 5th gen ipod touch ios 8.1.3. Useless. Please fix.

Recorded a verse to an instrumental I uploaded from my library. When I played it back, the verse was nowhere near on track with the beat. There was a half-second delay, and the track sounded terrible. If i could leave no stars, i would.

Without the ability to pan during your mix down, you cannot produce a “stereo” signal! Had I known this, I wouldn’t have purchased this app....... Supposedly, this feature is in the works, however....the latter remains to be seen! This is why my rating is ⭐️⭐️

I love this app. Its really great and sounds good. But for some reason, after the update its not letting me import songs from my library. I press the button and nothing happens. Please fix this so I can rate the five stars it deserves.

I’ve used this app for the last 4 years. Love how easy you can capture a song idea. You can even record vocals over karaoke songs you love. I would love a better drum loop with tempo adjustment. In addition, this app is great for emailing your ideas to other people. Super easy to use. And they have a version for iPad. Can’t beat it for the price.

I’ve used this app to capture ideas that have ended up on albums and singles and more importantly most often prompted even better ideas. Someday I’d like to release the things I’ve recorded with it.

I’ve tried a bunch of recording apps and this one is by far the best. It not only sounds the best but is very user-friendly. The mic sounds amazing!

I've used this app for years. The new update messes up your recording when it mixes the song and when you email it. There's no way for me to share my music. Garbage.

Everytime I send a file the email gets stuck in limbo, this app needs an update please, it's been long overdue.

the audio quality is great and it is very user friendly but i wish that it had a way for you to line in your guitar or mic and maybe a couple effects on each channel.😀

Thought this would work like a multi-track recorder. Record on track 1 and then go to record on track 2, track 1 bleeds onto it. Reached out twice for tech support but no response.

I used to love this app, I bought it for my iPhone 4S and again when I changed my iTunes account for my iPhone 6S and also purchased for my iPad Air2. The issue came with iOS 9, now when I "mix" my song and transfer it. It comes out at 2x the speed..... so it sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks!! This is infuriating, I used to use this as a poor man's studio. No solution has been offered at all. Happens with both Mac and Windows 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡.

Great app for throwing ideas together, love the simplicity of it. There are some features I do wish it had (like a way to scroll trough time to listen to specific parts* or cut /trim audio segments..) but I also feel like being limited is part of the point of the app. I find that this works very well at what it does. Not a full studio, nor do I think it was it intended to be one, but it’s a wonderful tool and worth having for brainstorming ideas or recording demos. I wish there was a deluxe version too, love being able to work so quickly when creating, but would be great to be able to have a little more editing ability or at least a scrolling ability so you could punch in at or listen to certain points and not have to start over each time *Edit: I can’t believe I’ve been using the app this long and didn’t catch that you can scroll through playback- I still think it’d be handy to be able to use that to start recording at a particular point in the song - another suggestion would be having the loop track also have recording function so you could use that as either a loop or a 5th track? Bottom line Overall I really love this app and have no complaints, I was hesitant but had I known how much I’d end up using and enjoying it.. totally worth it. Thanks for making a cool product.

Should be able to loop recordings individually on a single track and maybe some vocal effect options other then that best app ever

I was looking for a pocket sized mic for an iPhone 6, and this works reasonably well. I’ve recorded live Music and solo home guitar/singing, comes out better than the internal mic (less hollow, boomy). It does a good job rejecting crowd noise in public. Several times I’ve recorded and found out it was distorted, once when within about 8 feet of a PA, and once from a loud outdoor concert. Also vocals up close will distort, including normal speaking volume. The “dead cat” wind screen works great, I often record outside with it and without it the wind noise makes the recording unusable even in light wind.

New Update won't let me put music n from my iTunes library needs fixed fast.

I tried to leave none of the starts filled but it wouldn't let me. I wanted to use this app with a lav mic that I have. It doesn't record the audio loud enough. I got a better app for half the price. Wish I didn't waste my money.

This used to be my go to DAW. Alas, other apps have progressed and StudioMini has largely stood still. I use AudioCopy and audiobus, this app does not support either of them. The app hasn't been updated in half a year. I contacted the developer who says that they plan to support both AudioCopy and audiobus in the future. I will revise my review at that time.

I'm a singer and I REALLY appreciate how fast I can record my song ideas. Its super easy to begin a new recording session and I can get a mix emailed to my guitarist & producer from the app which is awesome. Sound quality is totally pro. We've imported tracks from StudioMini into Pro Tools for songs we're working on for my new album. Just plain awesome.

This is a professional grade app! Nicely done!

It can record multi tracks and mix them, but cannot loop, move or edit them. And no effects...Not quite sure what the app is for. Am I missing something??

This app I had it on the first Iphone and loved it!!!! Its the best app ever for Me for a pocket studio!! Ive done so many things with it its awesome!!!

I love the app. I got it when it was free. I think my friends would be more likely to purchase the app if it were easier to send songs to other studiomini app owners so that they could also mix in with the song.

I was around when the Fostex 4-track tape deck was revolutionary. To think I can do it all with an iPhone now is mind blowing. This app is the perfect solution for comping song ideas anywhere or anytime.

For the price theres a lot of great features. I love how it records and that you can import tracks. It would be nice to have maybe 2 more tracks and to be able to start recording at certain points instead of at the beginning. I also save tracks to my library and would like to be able to import them from other places not just iTunes. Great app for $5 though to make some quick music.

This is the app I was looking for, simple and very easy to use. I think it’s a great app to layer some ideas or even practicing solos with the guitar, voice harmonies etc... I love it.

I would suggest rather than having one import a music track into a channel. You should make it a feature to import a music track into the loops section. I would also consider having the ability to add effect to vocals!

As a songwriter myself, I have found this very useful when writing multiple parts for a song. There are drum tracks included as well as a metronome. This helps with sketching the song out and getting an idea of what it may sound like in a professional studio. Worth the five bucks, this app rocks!

The developers don't mention it in the App Store, but you can only input audio into this app through the built-in microphone or the mono microphone input, neither of which are great options. A fully featured recording app should have the ability to use existing USB adapters to bring audio in at least two channels at a time. If their app has this limitation, they should mention it upfront, not in the manual after you've already bought it.

This app used to be tremendous before the most recent update , the tuner was great and completely versatile, it gave so many options of different instruments and various tunings, this new tuner from the recent update was compete crap, if you have not updated yet, DON'T!

I bought this app because I have the iPad app and it works great. I downloaded the app and the example song was very distorted. I recorded a sample audio and it was distorted as well.

This was a very cost effective app that was perfect for my humble needs. The app developed a bug and while it did take 7 months to fix it, they did fix it. They were very responsive to messages. It works great again.

Great little app. I use it every day for ideas especially when I’m not in my studio.

I've had this app for years I love it. It after most recent update it crashes when I select a track to record on.. it seems to only happen when I have head phones plugged in. Please help

Won't work on my new phone. iPhone 5c. I used to like this app when it worked. Now it's total garbage.

I was using this app. Recently lost my phone therefore losing all recordings. Would love a way to recover recordings. Also would like to be able to cut begins of full recordings so to start over you didn’t have to stop & erase/loose focus.

The app is off the hook if you have a Roland micro cube with its aux input jack to plug into and record to backing beats of every genre at your choice of BPM. I recorded some random chops on my guitar and recorded it with the app. Totally AWESOME!!

I've been using StudioMini to practice & rough draft for a decent amount of time now.

i sincerely LOVE this little 4track! with the iphone7 mic i’m blown away by how good my apartment demos and live rehearsal recordings sound. dumping tracks to DAW (i use logic) and then bouncing that mix back to studiomini is a game changer. been using this for like 10 years now and i honestly wouldn’t use anything else demos and rehearsal recordings. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED on a daily basis from this guy. thanks fr making such a kickass little recorder 🤘😎

Great app in the beginning but after the iOS update for the iPhone 6s it speeds the whole track up 2x and distorts the sound after repeated emails and no solution after being told there working on the problem I no longer use or endorse this Product or Company.

This app is good with helping you make music. But it needs voice effects so you can change the pitch and make loops ect. Also it should let you record your voice over other songs in your library.
