Singing Vocal Warm Ups App Reviews

Useful as it is, but I wish I could customize the vocal range, and add my own warmup exercises.

Waste of money. Not what I thought it would be. No vocal examples. Scale doesn't reverse. Very manual.

Would be perfect with ability to customize scales. Also the need for playlist.

This app is fantastic - lets me warm up anywhere, no longer needing access to a piano/keyboard. I especially like having a range of scales to choose from and getting to control the playback speed.

Update: What a nice surprise, new interface... Looks great on my 6plus ---------------------------------_ If you are a singer (Pro or amateur) and have an Iphone this is it. Get this. Great for warm-ups and practicing technique. This is not a coaching program. You do need to have some basic technique knowledge. Bad reviewer should have read description before buying.

This app is very useful and helpful. I it would be rad if it had the ability to let you write your own melodies and practice them! Good work though I use it daily!!

I finally found my practice app.

This has been a great vocal warm up before every performance! Mariachi members rarely use microphones so I make sure my voice will stand the test of time!

Love love love the app. But can you make it so the app doesn't quit when you lock the phone. I like to practice while walking my puppy or at the park but the app has to stay open. And with a rambunctious little pup, you can imagine the issues. Thanks again!!

I Friggin love this app but the complaints I’ve heard so far through the other reviews and people who’ve done the warm ups with me have complained of the ranges of some of the Voice Types being Too Low/High It seems to me that this App is Geared towards Classical Singers because it seems to be focuses on Securing the High range of every voice Type but anyways. But if this is the intention I think... BASS: I think this is great but I know some basses who can muster An A4, maybe not sustain and be able to sing up there a lot but I’m sure they could hit the note BARITONE: Perfect! TENOR: Perfect! ALTO/CONTRALTO: Too Low AND too high. I don’t know very many Classical Contralto/Alto who find it easy to go below E3 or above A5. Just sayin’, That’s the one I’d complain about the most from the app. MEZZO-SOPRANO: I think it’s too High. maybe stopping it at C6 would be more appropriate than High Eb SOPRANO: Too Low And Slightly Too High. I feel like G3 is pretty Low for a Soprano. Hell, at lowest I’d say A3 for a soprano but for the sake of this App. I’d start it at Middle C and stop it at about F6 Possible changes could be to Add 2 Voice types. BASSO-PROFUNDO: C2-F4 And SOPRANINO: E4-A6 For the super low male and Super High Soprano. Or another thing could be Keeping all of the scales but allowing a custom range Set in addition to the preset ranges just in case you don’t fall neatly into those categories. And maybe you could set it as low as C2 and as high as A6 to cover all basis. Again, I love the app!! Thanks for creating such a wonderful thing!

Good app, but basic. We need to be able to customize the scales, and we need playlists! If another app comes around that can do that...

On iPhone 6, doesn't crash. It does a nice variety of warm ups. I enjoy its simplicity; there is no learning curve. Set up, sing. It is as simple as warming up on a piano.

Really wish you could listen to this with the phone closed or using a different app. Right now the phone has to stay open. Also can’t control from Apple Watch.

I really like this app! I've been mastering the baritone and tenor mixed intervals while driving to and from work. I noticed a big difference in my range and vocal controll in two weeks.

Great tool for singers on the go!

I used to vocalize with a cassette tape but this is much easier. (My I-pad goes everywhere.) It's also very versatile. I chose the single arpeggio in both the alto and soprano ranges. Every singer should have this.

Sorry I purchased this app. You can't even build a playlist for warm ups. Very bad when you're driving cause you always have to look at the phone to chose your next warm up! This is a VERY basic app. I would go with something else. I would, if I could get a refund for this crap!

I use this app to warm up and cool down! No problems. No crashes. Well worth the few bucks.

This app is spectacular! The only thing more I could want is a way to customize my range and make my own scales. Until we get an app like that this is the best you can get!

My daughter and I are learning to sing together, and this suits is perfectly for warmup practice.

Would love even more scales in A future version but this is a pretty great app thanks

Very easy and intuitive to use. The pre-set range of notes, based on traditional voice classifications, is fairly accurate and helpful. The varying scale patterns offered is good, but could be better (see below). Would love to see the addition of the following options: - Descending arpeggiated scales in addition to the 1-3-5-8 pattern, ie an 8-5-3-1 pattern (for example), with variations on that. - A button that allows the user to choose whether or not the direction of the repeated scale pattern continues to ascend chromatically OR descend at the user’s discretion. As a vocal coach I’m constantly asked to teach “on location”, and the potential is certainly there with this App to become the Go-To App for coaches not wishing to schlep their keyboard around to every gig. These 2 suggestions go a LONG way toward making that a reality!

Would love to see a repeat function or have the app work with the lock screen up.. But I use this all the time! The speed function is my favorite part.

It would be better if the app was able to check my tune while I practice with it. It would be great if it could visually display the difference between my pitch and the note playing on the phone.

Wish there was more scales though, or if we could custom write scales...

I was given scales to practice by my vocal instructor and instead of having to try to play the scales on my guitar I just use this app. The app doesn't make mistakes it's in perfect timing and perfect pitch. I love it, I found it affordable works perfectly it's effective and very easy-to-use. I use it every day to practice.

I love this app it helps me before choir and band I sound better than before! Things could change though like the melody the warmup song because I'm a Alto some of those notes I CAN NOT HIT even in the Alto range. Other than that I love the app. Wow you really are a singers best friend

If only the exercises would continue playing after exiting, it would be the perfect app.

Well I'm a singer and so far I find this app a very useful app for scales warming up the voice other ppl want to create there personal scales or notes but this is great for what it does and the price

I thought my singing skills had peaked until I found this app and I am able to do my warm-ups on the way to the gig. I find this app has really helped me with my range!

Very good app , only suggestions I would like to see in future updates is "background play" and also a customized option to select highest and lowest notes instead of going with typical bass/baritone/tenor ranges

What'd make this app the best it could be is if you could fully customize your preferred singing range from one exact note to another. Right now, it just has standard range categories; Bass, Tenor, etc. Also, if it allowed you to do modes or build exotic scales. There are only twelve notes, why not let users choose which notes, that way if they want to sing modes they can? Otherwise good app. Use it regularly, and it WILL help you sing better.
