Rarely does shazam get me the actual song. Why isn't there a mechanism to report incorrect matches?

Shazam is a great app! And I would recommend it to a lot of people. The speed of the app is amazing, and the accuracy is even better. It does indeed get the wrong song or not know your song at all, but that is very rare in my experience. The only drawbacks overall is that sometimes it does not let you Shazam any songs, but that only lasts for a couple on minutes.

Shazam can pretty much recognize any song and fast. What can’t it do

I love this app but, I listen to a lot of songs that a big selection of people probably never heard of. And the problem is I will go to identify these type of songs and it will always say, “I didn't quite catch that.” or it will give me a song that sounds nothing like the one I was looking for. Now I’m not saying the app doesn’t work, it does. But if you're looking for songs that isn't “trending” then it might not work. But I hope you can fix this problem especially for people like me.

I had several unmarked CD's with what seemed to be very old music on them. I opened Shazam & discovered CD's with recordings of Louis Armstrong, King Oliver Creole Jazz Band & The Red Onion Jazz Babies, all from 1920 recordings & Shazam mailed them all. Very impressed!

The buttons don’t like to be pressed. Even when I’m right, my scores are skewed by not being able to hit the bottom.

For more than 5 years I had Shazam as well as Sound Hound. None of them really stood out much. They were more complementary: when one wouldn’t find the song, the other would. When none would, most of the time it was kinda inaudible. Maybe looking a year back or so, Shazam has really superseded my expectations on capturing enough info (time, volume, whatever the f*} else they need) to identify the tunes. Even those last minute phone draws from deep in the pocket. Can only say: thanks a bunch!!

Where is auto shazam!!

This app is an awesome app to have if you enjoy listening to song but don’t always know what you are listening to.

Shazam seems to get a lot of songs incorrectly and then adds them to my library anyways. Because of this I turned off auto add feature. It would be nice if Shazam would ask if it got the selection correct and then added it to my library.

I’ve been using Shazam for a while now, and I’m very pleased with it. There is always room for improvement though. Sometimes it takes too long for a new music/artist to be added which makes it a bit frustrating. Also, their choice of vendors to purchase the music from is sometimes limited. I always use Amazon music, and although a certain song may be available on Amazon, Shazam wants me to purchase it from some other service.

I’ve had a song stuck in my head for 4-5 months now. I had a video on my phone of it playing but there was a loud noise of a boat over it and I couldn’t make out the lyrics. The second I used Auto-Shazam with it, it found it and I’m so thankful!! Best app ever!😍

Why does Shazam not recognize different versions of songs? Half the time I Shazam a song, the version that it plays back to me is completely different from the version that I Shazamed. It may be the same artist and song, but it’s not the version that I Shazamed. I usually have the original version, but the reason I Shazam it is because it’s a version that I like but didn’t know was out there— so it’s frustrating when Shazam only has the original.

When the app was first released you could Shazam a song anywhere with any crowd. Now you can’t even Shazam Metallica during church.

I enjoy being able to identify the tunes I like but I don’t want the auto Shazam and can’t figure out how to get rid of it. Even with the toggle in the off position the icon keeps showing up with a small clock attached to it! The ‘help’ instructions are not helpful—-a frequent problem I find on many internet sites unfortunately.

Shazam is always there when I need it.

This app only needs to do one thing: tell me what the name of the present song is. It’s not that difficult. Songs don’t last forever, and by the time you realize you like the song, you probably only have a few moments to capture the song with an app, as you juggle with driving your car and getting away from any background noise. Yet, this app cannot the only thing it needs to do. It struggles to load every time, before eventually the button doesn’t respond at all to the touch. If you think updating the app might make it work, you’d be wrong. Admittedly, this might not normally merit the time to draft a negative review, but there’s nothing quite so annoying as having precious few seconds to capture a song and then having your dedicated app fail at its only job. If anyone from the Shazam bureaucracy is reading this, please make whatever simplifications are necessary to this app to make it work.

I’m the latest iPhone. My phone has the latest iOS and the app has the latest update. It’s an app that I enjoy it has now been rendered useless. It simply doesn’t identify anything. I tap for it to listen, it tells me to tap to turn off... no results. Really annoying and counterintuitive.

I’m disappointed in Shazam for Apple Watch. It used to work really well,now all it does is freeze up. It says “Shazam saved we’ll name that song when you’re back online,well guess what? I have the cellular Apple Watch 4 & it did the same thing on my Apple Watch 3 non cellular watch. & It also freezes on the listening screen, it’ll say listening we’ll tap you when we find a match & it never does, it freezes on that screen & stays there. It used to work fine but doesn’t now it’s a shame because I can’t always reach for my phone because it isn’t always within reach.

This app keeps freezing up on my Apple Watch Series 4. It doesn’t matter if it’s on WiFi or LTE. I have to restart the Watch to get it unfroze, and then it’s good for one Shazam then it freezes up again.

One Complaint, if you have about 5 or more pending Shazams, it loses them all. I can’t understand it. Then, when I’m connected to Spotify, it doesn’t add to my playlists. A bit annoying, but I’ve gotten used to it. I would still suggest you fix the part were pending Shazams are lost. Thank you!

UPDATE (9/25/18) app wont process ALL of my pending songs recorded while on offline mode. Tried the app both on wifi & LTE, still no luck. Now I have a bunch of songs that I dont know the title to because this s***** app is acting like a bratty teenager that doesnt want to do its homework. Nothing new- it’s STILL GARBAGE. Went out one day and heard a really good song. Since I was already holding this phone, I decided to use this app instead of getting my other phone to use soundhoud. BIG MISTAKE. In the 3 years that I've had soundhoud, not once did they ever disappoint me. But this annoying app not only forces you to automatically follow the artists of the songs you searched, BUT ALSO DELETES YOUR PENDING SEARCHES. Lemme tell you, the song I recorded was a minus one (and probably isn't a famous song) which makes it practically unsearchable in google. This t***** app had one job and couldn't do it right. Download soundhoud instead! You guys are waaaaaay better off with it.

The older Shazam discovered songs much more faster. Now I have to put my phone really close to the speakers to have a match, in the old times this wasn’t necessary. In a bar or in a store now is almost impossible to use it. If I could I would install an older vrs. I use an iPhone 7 btw.

All ways on point with this app. Hear a song, don’t know who it’s by, just Shazam it.

At first this was great, now having it over time it has a lot of issues. I paid for this app so I didn't have advertisements and yet I still get them especially when I changed to a newer phone. I still logged in with my info and I do not get what I paid for which is disappointing. Other issues is that I try to use it and it won't catch some of the music I get this instead "try again" over and over and it's very frustrating. When certain music is longer than 45 seconds. If I want a song from a commercial or from a TV show I really like. There is a TV show for this app. How about upgrading your app so songs that this app is listening too can actually catch the song that you want. Apart from those issues this is a great app would be even greater if it catches every tune. I will update my review when that happens!!

For 3 months it says will update you once connected to network. I am on wifi and full cell bars. Doesn’t save any of the songs I am trying to use it to identify.

Identifying music Shazam is an impressive app. The feature that searched for upcoming shows by the artist was the single most useful capability of the app. Bring that back and I’ll increase my rating!

I’ve tried emailing support for a question regarding location for Shazam’s several times and never got a response

But, it has lack of or malfunctioning in many places, plus unwanted adds is very interfering the main idea and philosophy of the app

When I hit my Shazam app it loads fast.

On my new iphone it cannot identify the song unless the music is loud. Is thete a volume adjustment to boost what the microphone hears. I cant alway crank the volume so that shazam can identify the song.

I listen to jpop and vocaloids, and Shazam sometimes doesn't get them all. It can still recognize a good majority of them though.

Many times after listening to songs I like to open Shazam too see the Original Song Released Date to find put that Shazam proposed release dates are 30% of the time Wrong. For example: song actual released date from 1978 show in Shazam 2008. For that reason I won’t give them 5 stars.

How many time have you searched something and it didn't acually find that. Maybe is not music or just instrumental but i guess that's not a "song" and it doesn't appeal that way. I just hope one day it will find the music you really needed but it didn't for some reason.

My Shazam doesn’t connect with Apple Music to seamlessly download songs I’ve heard and like!

Shazam is amazing because if you don’t know a song you can just use Shazam and it’s also FREE!

Love the app. It quickly became a staple on my series 3  watch. However, in the last few weeks, the app just hangs on “listening”. Closing the app, reinstalling from iPhone, restarting - nothing fixes the problem. On series 4  watch, the problem repeats itself.

The watch app needs to detect song when not connected to phone.

I like this app, I can learn what songs are without too much research

It works so well and I can easily find ANY song! Great app highly recommend

I like Shazam a lot, but I just wish the lyrics function was better. Many songs don’t have lyrics available, and often the ones that do have incorrect lyrics.

I can’t not express how much I like Shazam. It makes it so easy to add to my play list. Y’all rock

I was listening to an unknown song and I used Shazam.Then I learned that the song was Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz.

Thank you for the improvements you’ve been doing to your app..... It has come a long way since I started using it......

Totally love the app. Anywhere we’re I am going / at, i can find out easily what song is playing. Even being in a different country, it works fabulous!

I love the integration to Apple Music. Every once in a while I use the discover tab, it always keeps me listening, excellent suggestions!

Stupid SHAZAM couldn’t figure it out from FarmAid 2018 - What gives?

Cmon Shazam! With all the databases out here you can’t come up with “year recorded” or “year released”, or - background anecdote of each song, pulled from various artist interviews??? In this day and age you would have thought you would grow your app to accommodate listeners, including every type of listener. I’d even pay a premium to have this type of information. Every time I Shazam something I want to know this information and lyrics and you rarely have either. Bring it!

Not sure why but EVERY TIME I Shazam a song on my Apple Watch, it says I’m off line....and I’m not. I got rid of my favorite app on my watch because it suddenly NEVET works anymore. Bummer.

Love how well it can find the song and artist without a miss with very little of the song playing or with background noise. History of look up is a great way to go back and dig into artists later. And the link to iTunes makes it so much faster to add to my music library.

Shazam is great if you don’t know a song all you have to do is download this app for free and every time you want to know a song you are listening to you can go on Shazam.

The UI is easy, the Today View widget is awesome, and best of all your Shazam’s sync with Apple Music. Also, a very small price to remove adds. Thanks, Shazam!

5 Stars - great App

Enjoy Shazam but I tried 3 songs, 2 of them while I was offline but it said it recorded them for when I would be back online, then when I was back online it was like it forgot. I can’t find them. All I see is the third one that it identified on the spot. But still cool. Wish Siri would Shazam songs like it used to.

There are so many songs with different versions that this app fails to pick up. Even when the bear and words are exact it fails. Crap!

Works 99 percent of the time sometimes it can’t hear it well enough. Love knowing new music to look up on youtube.

This software currently is an utter waste of time. Not sure the update will help. I think I’ll just delete it completely.

This app is fantastic. I love music and it's frustrating when a song that I like isn't identified on the radio. Now I can use Shazam to learn the name. I love it!
