Devs seemed to have made an oopsie. The app does NOT keep the screen unlocked while in use.

Used to work great, best iPhone tuner. Also drains battery if you don't kill the app after use. Please fix, it really is the best!

I submit that it cannot. I've been playing for almost 20 years, used a multitude of tuners, both physical and app-based, and Polytune is the best tuner I've ever used hands down and without reservation. It is well accurate and the fact that it tunes all six strings at once is musical icing on the cake. I don't write reviews. Ever. But I got this app years ago when it first came out(for free I might add) and I have been using it with pleasure ever since.

I've been waiting literally years for this app to be revamped. I'm glad it finally happened. Love the update, thanks TC Electronics!

I don't care how loud turn my amp up, this app doesn't freaking work!! I've reinstalled it. I've tried an interface and that works fine. Screw you, TC. I want my money back. The free apps work just fine. This is BS.

It's crap! Useless! It won't tune my Fretless Bass Low E! It should be 0.99 cents. Seriously this is a rip off.

I'd like to give this five stars, but I capo a lot of times… If it's so easy to add "de-tuned" guitar tuning options, why can't they go UP the neck from the regular E tuning, and do the F, F#, G, G#, A... etc. Seems pretty easy to add these features… Look, I know how to tune open and then capo after that, but a lot of times a capo messes with the tuning, usually makes One or two strings go sharp, so I like to tune right through the capo. Any flamenco guitarist would appreciate a capo function...

The best tuner ever, digital or analog, but this app needs an upgrade ASAP.

Gotta be honest, this app is so worth it. I think it might be the most spendy non-subscription app I've purchased, and I only regret waiting so long to do so. The pedal version of TC PolyTune2 is amazing, and the app does everything a $150 (MSRP) pedal does for 1/30th the price. One major advantage of the pedal version is how it isolates the instrument, and is not affected by ambient sounds, and that's perfect for noisy, musical environments, where a quick tune or de-tune is needed. I haven't experimented with it yet, but I'll bet I could use the headset jack with an adapter to get line-in on my iPhone or iPad--or use an effects send from a mixer. Anyway, great to use, easy to understand, scorchingly fast and accurate. SPEND THE MONEY.

I was told this was the best guitar tuner on the App Store, and it is... when it works. About 90% of the time, it can’t detect that I’m even playing a note despite the lack of background noise even when I’m right up close to the mic. When it works, it is very accurate and I’m impressed with the polyphonic tuning, but I’ve downloaded another app that, although may not be as ‘super high quality’, works reliably. And the problem isn’t my phone. I’ve used the app on a few phones before I rated it just to be sure, and it’s just not reliable for me. Maybe it’s just buggy, maybe it’s a user error or whatever, but that’s my experience. I’ve stopped using it, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless their willing to risk a few bucks. Again, though, it’s incredible when it works, hence the generous three stars.

I've been using the PolyTune pedals since they came out. They track guitar fast and make tuning on stage a breeze. For many years I've also been using other guitar pedals, like the Boss TU-12 (which has a microphone), to tune saxophone and flute. So I thought this app would be good to use for my wind students. But it doesn't track wind instruments very well. Maybe it's expecting the instrument to be plugged in (maybe with an iRig interface?), and therefore the sensitivity is too low for just pointing a sound at the iPhone or iPad. In any case, the simple "eTuner" app does the job much better, with no fooling around trying to get closer to the IOS device. I hope TC Electronic takes a look at the various ways people might want to use this app, and make some changes to it. On the whole, their products are some of the best.

Please update it to match the iphone 5/5s resolution. (Oh!! my god, app last update 2010…)

I expected a lot more from this tuner. As I suspected it does not work in polyphonic mode. That's OK, but I did expect it to work when plucking single strings. But this tuner performs worse than many free tuners. Stick with Pitch Lab for free.

Been using this app for a while and like it a lot. I only wish they'd update it to look better on newer devices. Newer as in the iPhone 5. Please guys the 4s is the last iPhone this app looked good on.

Currently the only tuner app I have. However it feels neglected for a couple of reasons. 1. No way to customize for alternate tunings. 2. Doesn't have 7, 8, or higher string counts for more modern instruments. 3. Now gives a warning on the iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 10.1 saying that the app will slow down the phone. Time to update T.C.

No update since 2010. If someone is paying 9 bucks you all can keep it updated. This is just poor service.

They updated this App after 7 years, and it never even needed one. Kudos.

Don't forget to allow "Microphone" in Privacy settings.

It needs an Update. It's still optimized for iphone4 and it's not recognizing pitches properly. I have three real polytune so, it's not user error. Please update the app or give me a refund. I'm happy to continue buying tc's physical products but this app is a huge let down.

Great app! Would give 5 stars if there was an update. iPad version would be nice. It runs very glitchy on my iPad Air 2 and in the wrong resolution on my 5s.

The poly tune function does not work with ukuleles. I would like a refund. In fact because this app did not work, I have also saved $50 from not buying a poly tune clip because it also likely discriminates against uku’s as well.

Works good with iRig. Adapter on the iPad With electric guitars especially in noisy environments line in is a must.

Just had a message pop up after opening this app that it may slow down my iPhone since the developer is due to update it. Please see this and do so! I've been using this PolyTune app for close to three years. It's my main go to other than my actual PolyTune mini pedal. I want to be able to keep using it as it's the most expensive app I've ever purchased.

I've had a few PolyTune pedal tuners on my pedal board and this app has always been just as good. I didn't think TC would ever update it - it still worked great but looked wrong at the smaller size. This new design looks great and is a welcome update!

I've owned this App for years and its worked better than any other tuner on the App store, until it recently auto Updated itself to a new version with new look and function... The new version, is really quite insensitive and non responsive in general and specifically to the lower A and E strings of any acoustic guitar on all my iPhones and iPads including iPhone 7. Do not buy it - Since the company released their new hardware PolyTune clip product, it seems they deliberately dumbed down the App, to encourage the hardware purchase over the App.

I just cannot begin to say how thrilled I am with this tuner. I find it incredibly accurate. Thanks TC!

It's a good general tuner in the needle mode and is accurate using it. The stream mode isn't as accurate as something like the Sonic Research ST series strobe tuner. The strobe seems to lock in at a range of pitches and won't move until you really go out of tune. The PolyTune function triggers low on almost all strings even after you tune using the needle mode. Lastly, for some reason it will not track the low E string. It's probably worth the $5. I'm glad I didn't spend the $99 on the real stomp box version.

Been hoping for an update for a long time, now. Favorite pedal for tuning and amazing to have it as an app when I'm without my pedalboard.

I've tried a bunch of tuners and always end up coming back to Polytune. It auto detects well and the six-strings-at-a-glance view is very helpful to spot which one is out of tune.

Crap. Takes forever to tell you anything. Not worth it.

I was really disappointed when my trusty old Fastune HT6 became obsolete due to iOS 11 requiring only 64-bit apps, especially because the last time I looked for a more modern polychromatic tuner to replace it, I couldn't find one. I was relieved to discover the existence of PolyTune, which seems to work really well, and I love the simple, elegant interface.

It's completely useless to me without them.

I've had this app since it came out in 2010 and it's actually been the best tuner on iOS the whole time. The accuracy on both the individual and multi string settings (changes based on what you play, not an actual "setting") is very close. I just sit the phone on my knee and tune up.

It barely picks up and registers string tone. I’ve tried to use thru the updates, it’s just not effective. Find another app.

In my oppinion the new update ruined the app. It used to be my favorite tuner. Now it's harder to read and more difficult to use.

I buy 0.99$. Cool app but should have tune ukulele.

Worth every penny! You can strum all the strings and tune them that way or do one at a time. It knows the difference, you don't have to change any settings. Genius!

Responds extremely slow. Not built yet for an iPhone 6 Plus. Not nearly usable for a pro guitar player. Skip and go with Cleartune instead.

This tuner is every bit as accurate as the real PolyTune. Polyphonic function works perfectly. The best thing about this app is that they don’t nickel and dime you to death with in app purchases, unlike Peterson. 5 stars!

I've tried about 10 of the best rated iPhone tuner apps - including Guitar Tuna 👎 - and Polytune is the best one I've found. The others tell you you're in tune, then you strum a chord and you're clearly not quite in tune. Don't waste your time trying the others - download Polytune.

Awesome app.. seems really accurate, surprisingly so. I have a 30+ years playing bass. Only gripe, screen dims when the app is open. I find myself having to tap the screen in the middle of tuning but aside from that excellent app well worth the purchase. Next buy will be a PolyTune 2 pedal. 😉

I used to love using this app, but it hasn't been updated for newer phones. It really doesn't even work well with the new phone mics. An update please
