As a performing singer songwriter, this app has become indispensable. Perhaps the best benefit of all is that it is constantly and intelligently updated, and a user can beta test as well. Support responds very quickly as well.

I love this App, purchased 08-2013, use it weekly. I was jamming with friends and notice my buddy looking at an iPad, as I enquired I was amazed. Needed to have. A friend and I have a 2 piece band, "Antique Road Show" by the name you can tell were not spring chickens. My buddy has binders of music, when we make a play list, I take a snap shot of his music sheet upload to Dropbox, import to Onsong, done deal. If someone requests a song we don't have I find it on Safari and download. I recommend this App. highly...

Having used OnSong for many years I can’t say enough good things about it. Even though I don’t come close to utilizing all of the features, it is one of the most powerful apps on all my devices. Additionally the support is amazing as well! I bought this app when it was more than half its current price, and would be willing to pay for upgrades (however they are always included), I think it is worth twice what they ask. *grateful it isn’t however. I am writing this while having a support issue, inspired by the experience. Any questions or issues I have had in the past have all been handled with amazing (specifically chosen the word amazing) customer service. There are 3 apps I go to constantly as a classroom music teacher and this is one of them!

I am loving OnSong for finally helping me organize all my printed music! It’s also been great for when I play with others and they have no idea what key they sing. I can easily find them and then transpose the whole song instantaneously. They think I’m a musical genius. I love working with the add-on Console because I hate typing on a screen. I had a question and contacted OnSong help and got a very quick and satisfactory response. They have proven themselves to me. (I’m working on being their best salesperson in my area! I recommend the program whenever I get the chance. )

I use it at church and it is a great tool for worship but and annoying unresolved issue with music library for years now. The main problem I have is that I use Spotify premium Acct and Two paid acct for my music chart provided, every time I want to use them with OnSong I have to sign In, this app it is not capable to keep me signed in even though they I ask for an authorization every single time, very annoying. I call them about a year ago and they blamed Spotify, I literally closed My Spotify account and reopen it within their requirements (Facebook sign in) and nothing change, now is doing it with one of my music chats providers as well, the app it is worthy because doesn’t require a monthly membership payment otherwise I wouldn’t have.
dpasq's Review of OnsongReviewed on 8/23/18 6:51 PM
Until I learned about onsong I had word documents stored in folders and I had duplicates up duplicates. My filing system was a mess, my computer crashed a couple times and restorations caused many duplications. The more I tried to clean it up the worse it got. But now with OnSong, everything is in one place, it’s easy to back up and easy to restore. Can’t imagine how I lived this long without it. The program has a few quirks, but nothing that prohibits me from getting my songs and sets together. That’s my favorite part is that I can create as many set list as I want, and then archive them for future use. Therefore I highly recommend this program to any serious musician who is performing, or really anyone who wants to keep their songs organized. There are many more advanced features that I don’t use, such as midi implementation of lights and backup instruments. There many more features that I haven’t even explored yet. I doubt I ever will but I can see where a solo artist could put everything together to perform songs with back up midi instruments and be able to control stage lights.

I was an early adopter of iPad-ified music library. It was a tremendous benefit immediately when I did it 5+ years ago. Unfortunately, the company that developed my initial app went out of business before fixing a backup problem that lost about 1/3 of the database if you ever had to restore from iCloud or iTunes. So here I am, years invested in my library of 900+ pieces later and just one hardware glitch away from a disaster. The choice: migrate my library to a new app or go back to notebooks! So I decided to look at the industry leader: OnSong which all my friends (later adopters) now use...and Wow! Wish I had changed sooner. The smart design, the range of features, and really good ideas that have gone into this app are amazing. It works great and my migration isn’t going to be as bad as I thought it would be. I’m still migrating, will be for a while, but I already know I’m going to love using OnSong when I get there. I’d highly recommend spending some time thinking about how you want to organize your library. There are a number of ways to do it and time spent ahead of time, will save hours later. Great work OnSong. I’m really looking forward to working with you for a long time to come,

I’m a working musician and find the OnSong app to be the greatest thing in my musical arsenal. It is not only good for live gigs, but also fantastic as a learning tool. I highly recommend this app for beginners to seasoned pros. What I would like to see is the ability to smartcast the screen onto a larger monitor that would be placed near my wedge for reading lyrics without having the IPad mounted on my mic stand. That would make me look more professional and let my old eyes more able to read the lyrics and chord changes to the 500 songs my cover band does.
JoeFindley's Review of OnsongReviewed on 7/5/18 11:26 PM
It seems to have great potential, but right now it seems like a glitch factory. It has crashed or frozen multiple times, and eats battery like crazy. The "flow" function generally erases the song instead of organizing it, and I haven't even gotten around to trying the higher functions yet... basically I'm disappointed. Hoping there is an update coming to address the glitches, I feel like a $25 app should run more smoothly.

I’ve been using onsong for almost 10 years. Each update adds more functionality and support. Also I don’t realize it (because it’s non existent) that this app is one of the most stable and bug free apps on my iPad. Just works is definitely the way to describe it. I’ve used it with many team members and have not been disappointed. Easy for anyone to start using quickly, but offers many robust features for the most advanced. Well worth the price and the in app purchases. Also great support. Couldn’t figure out a hugely advanced feature, support showed me how to solve it. It was user error. Love you guys.

Daniel-Owens's Review of OnsongReviewed on 6/7/18 11:49 AM
I’ve had onsong for about 2 years now and I love it. It has amazing features. It works best if you link your accounts to chord websites. I use songselect and planning center. There are lots of other useful things I use like the autoscroll and metronome features as well as the playback feature where I can link a track from iTunes or Spotify. However, this feature hasn’t allowed me to get signed into my Spotify account and properly let me link a song for a few months now. Hopefully they will fix this soon. The most important bad feature, and reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is because it crashes so often. On my iPhone 7 Plus, the crashes about 1 in 3 times that I open it. Especially if I double click home to quickly go to another app and then double click again to come right back. It’s frustrating during practice but could cause real problems in a live setting.
AROD2's Review of OnsongReviewed on 6/27/18 8:13 PM
The one app that keeps me using my iPad is OnSong. Whether you are an amateur, just starting out, or a professional musician, you would be amazed at how this app will help you. I have over 4500 song sheets and can share them with any one I play with. I can easily add new songs. Any song I hear, I find the lyrics and chords and port them over. If I don’t like the key it’s in, I only have to make a few taps and it all changes to the one I want. I put notes on the sheets and mark them up. OnSong Team is always improving the App. And they have the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with.

I have downloaded and bought a half a dozen apps to try getting my lyrics on my iPad and every time I would run into issues. Either I had to buy something else or it wouldn’t work like I needed or something. Until I got OnSong. Thank you. Yes it may cost a little more than others but if you add up all the mistakes of buying other apps that doesn’t work right. Well. You get the ideal.

Funfunfun=)'s Review of OnsongReviewed on 6/18/18 12:26 AM
I initially input full documents of many songs as individual songs, and that freaked it out so it shut down a lot. I'm now going thru the long process of inputting each of those songs individually, hoping that will make it shut down less frequently. So far I have two things that really annoy me: 1) When it decides a song is in a key different than it is, so the chords you see in edit mode are not the same chords you see when looking at the song. This drives me crazy. 1.5) It would be great to be able to split a song into multiple keys and not have it auto-change the chords. 2) It would be SO helpful to be able to insert photos similar to sticky notes. I am a visual learner and write notations to indicate the melody or my own shorthand for riffs/strumming patterns. I would love to be able to insert photos into the songs in order to have this important information all in one place. I haven't used the app much because it's been months of me inputting all my music the way I want it, and still relying on my paper music instead. I'll update this review in another few months when I finally have everything in and have switched to only using my iPad.

I love the program when it works! Has a mind of its own to often. It needs stability! I use pdfs and word docs. Zoom has mind of it's own. It won't scroll to bottom of page half the time! When you need it the most it fails! I'm looking for something that works. I am so done with this app! And yes, I'm using the latest version. And yes, my iPod is up to date too! 6/15/18 meant to say IPAD. All my songs are “word docs” or PDF. All my docs are “courier new” size 10. All I want from On Song is storage and display. The program is quirky. I can’t trust it for a gig setting. I have about 5 books created and the songs seem to migrate to other books mysteriously. I like the set list stuff. Zoom and scroll to bottom of page is my biggest problems.

This app has helped our worship team transition to a fully digital format and streamlined my task of arranging the music as well as the lyric projection. I use it to wirelessly control my multi effects via Bluetooth MIDI. Unfortunately, it is not the most reliable, hence, the 4 star rating. We normally have one iPad controlling the other iPads but sometimes, one iPad would lose connection and the musician would have to manually move the screen to the next verse. It would sometimes move to the next song when all we wanted was to select the next verse. If during rehearsal, I change the arrangement to help with the flow, I cannot beam the set again until I close the app and try and try again. Another quirk is that if I switch to another app and then switch back to OnSong, OnSong crashes.

I’d like to use the MIDI editor, but there’s insufficient documentation on how to use it and more importantly what it can’t do. Example, I want to do program changes to my Yamaha Montage and if I want a bank other than General Midi, it doesn’t make the change. I also had to waste a lot of time getting it to work with my Bluetooth midi interface.

What I’ve also learned is that it isn’t just OnSong lacking in their documentation, Yamaha is also to blame. In addition, OnSong support is also lacking. You don’t get the folks who really know the product, but rather a messenger. I guess I’m just old school as a retired IT specialist of 43+ years.

This app is hands down amazing. I’ve been using it for nearly 5 years now and it I now one of the sole reasons I have an iPad. I know you are thinking “this app is so expensive” if you are looking for an app to organize all your music, transpose keys, change keys according to capo, and organize set lists for your whole band then for real invest the money. The OnSong staff is supper supportive and have always gotten right back to me if I have any questions. The app is very clean and easy to use, yet still jam packed with amazing features. I use this app on stage at least twice a week and I wouldn’t change a thing. I can’t play without it now. BUY IT. It might expensive but in the grand scheme of things it is so so so worth it. I recommend it to any instrumentalist, ESPECIALLY if you are performing on stage.

I want to like this program for its many cool features, but it’s slow, buggy, and crashes frequently. And when it crashes, my set lists disappear. Lovely. The only saving grace is automatic backups which I then re-import. I only bought OnSong to collaborate with a friend who is using it. But I think I will go back to SongSheet Pro — not as many features, but it’s stable and reliable.

Really nice app other than being a little tricky to navigate and glitchy at times. However, I'm really disappointed that I paid $25 for this app only to have to pay an additional $3 for the privilege of being able to highlight text with a sloppy, Windows-paint-esque highlighter. And why can't I type in a different color text? Why must the chords be only one color at a time? Nice cash-grab, you guys.

Paperfiddler's Review of OnsongReviewed on 3/20/18 10:13 PM
I’ve absolutely loved this app until last month, when my Apple Pencil went from working really well for notes on PDF’s, to jumping all over the screen like crazy. I was in a very important rehearsal situation, and almost got fired because I couldn’t get my entrances written in the right places. The screen would move around while I tried to make markings. So at the job, I was totally dependent on other people to show me when to play and sing. It was really bad, and could’ve been financially devastating. For the future, I’d love to see actual music notation option added to the program, even if it’s small scale. There are times when I’d really like to make even a sticky note with a notated phrase on it. As it is, I type in the phrase using the letters (which is very limited). Even a staff option, where I could just write in the notes with the Apple Pencil...assuming the pencil can write a circle and a line without shooting diagonally across the page...

I want to tell you that as a programmer, I am very amazed by how well OnSong was written. It does so much for being so compact. While I watch the videos, I keep wondering who is the one that brought OnSong to the level that it does so much, and interacts with other existing software, like Google, DropBox, and uploading from a webpage that can take so many various forms. Cudos to all of you. I recommend your product to all the musicians that I talk with. I can only believe that your company will be very successful. Ron Gerard

My church worship team uses this app on a biweekly basis, and it’s so convenient when we get this app to work properly. We have noticed several bugs. Once the songs have been imported to the library (from Dropbox), if ever we want to pull up a song for a different set list, a black screen with just the title appears. This is very frustrating, especially when we have last minute set changes. Also, when “beaming” the set list to others in the group, the app is not able to pick up the other users’ accounts. This happens only sometimes. We’ve tried closing and reopening the app and powering off the iPad, but nothing seems to work. We’ve used this app for 2 years and its never been fixed. I’d rate it 5 stars if not for these inconveniences.
travwoody's Review of OnsongReviewed on 12/25/17 2:43 AM
This program is one reason that I bought my iPad. Being someone who puts together a set list every week of the year, it is important that I have good tools that provide flexibility, efficiency, and dependability to my onstage performance. Using this program with Bluetooth pedals allows me to play guitar and sing, concentrating on the performance and not on page turning and figuring out where I am on the song. Well worth the purchase and with the constant updates to improve the program and keep it relevant, I have seen nothing better on the market, and I have tried many.

OnSong is intuitve, esy to use and will immediately prove its worth to any msucian in need of a way to organize their collection of charts. What will never cease to amaze you is how many features this incredibe app holds just under its simple interface. Anything you can think of it likely already does... you simply only need to make use of its countless funtions. It i SO much more than just a replacement for your binders of sheet music. I cannot work without it and the one issue I've had with the app, the development team replied within hours that a new version that corrected my issue was already in the pipeline and was released within 3 days. It's this simple... if you gig, you need this app.

I’ve been using OnSong for over three years to manage my set lists, lead sheets, and charts. My whole band uses it now. It is an absolutely indispensable tool for professional working musicians. While there are other song management apps available, none are as powerful, full-featured, and well-supported as OnSong. There isn’t anything this app can’t do. In my band, I play keyboards and sax (and a few other instruments). My setup is quite complex. I have a rack of three keyboards and an effects box for the sax. Changing presets on all those units between songs used to be a major headache. The band always had to wait for me as I hurried to set my patches and prayed I got it right. OnSong changed all that. I connected everything to my iPad via USB and MIDI, with OnSong at the top. Now, all I have to do is swipe to the next song, and instantly all my keyboards and effects are set via MIDI. It even sets the tempo on the delay. It’s a fantastic, slick, professional setup that I simply couldn’t pull off any other way. Here’s another example of how my band uses OnSong. When our lead singer sets up her setlist, she beams it to the lead guitarist. Sometimes one of our singers plays drums, which makes it difficult for her to manage...so her OnSong is set to slave off the lead singer’s. It’s a bit complicated, but it works beautifully. The OnSong support is out of this world. I’m not kidding. I had a really confounding issue with MIDI commands not firing as expected. Jason, the president and lead programmer, worked through the issue with me. His patience and persistence was remarkable, and we finally resolved the problem. They’re constantly refining and developing this app. That’s important to me. I really depend upon OnSong, so it’s comforting knowing it has such active and dedicated support. OnSong is a complex app with many nuances. That means there can be a learning curve. But it is imminently worth the effort, and there are even online videos to help out. The documentation is good as well. If you require a powerful, professional, indispensable tool for managing your music, OnSong is the one. No doubt about it.
JonneyGee's Review of OnsongReviewed on 12/15/17 6:15 PM
OnSong has been amazing for me and others in my band. It’s very versatile in what it can do and it’s easy to learn how to make charts that work with the app. I also love being able to control my music with a foot pedal and OnSong makes that easy. Furthermore, their support is out of this world. I’ve had a couple of minor issues along the way and they were quick to offer a solution. They have packed a lot of features into the app but it’s clear that their top priority is ensuring the app always works flawlessly. I know I can depend on OnSong to work each and every week, even with updates that come along. Major props to the OnSong team for creating a great app and supporting it very well.
JackHackwhacker's Review of OnsongReviewed on 12/15/17 5:44 PM
OnSong is the best app I have seen for managing, creating, and displaying all my chord sheets. The number of features is staggering, and includes features for live performances. Additionally, OnSong is continuously improving this wonderful app. Their support team is very responsive as well. I would give them 6 stars if I could! :-)

I’ve been using this program for over two years. Well worth the price for me. Only had one problem and that was resolved quickly by the onsong team. Good product. Good support.
Dabgerous Dan's Review of OnsongReviewed on 12/15/17 5:20 PM
I have been playing for years, had file folders full of old song sheets. Tattered torn well used, full of notes, timing cues, etc... since I have been using OnSong I have not needed to resort to paper anymore. No more sheets blowing, falling off, getting out of order before a performance. I love it. I keep a version on my phone as well, you never know where and when you might be and need your music. This app is a mist have! Support has been awesome as well, Cudo’s to the support team!
Transformation Band's Review of OnsongReviewed on 12/15/17 4:13 PM
So many people refer to a “killer app” and for musicians, this is it. It keeps all of my music organized which alone is amazing. Then I can pull sets and flip though my songs with a foot pedal. It reduces my stage and mental clutter. But wait, there’s more! I have my songs set up to send midi to my vocal effects processor, keyboard and pedalboard - all when I switch songs. I can now seamlessly move through my set without taking my heads off my guitar or keys. I’ve seen on their tutorials page that you can do projected videos and stage lighting too. Seriously what other product can you get for so little money that does all of this and does it so well? It may have a learning curve but that is because of its flexibility and power. So listen. Don’t walk. Run to your Apple store and get an iPad and get this app.
Irish_Vixen's Review of OnsongReviewed on 12/15/17 3:56 PM
UPDATE: I am still completely amazed at how OnSong has improved my entire performance. I do not go on stage without it! The best part is I have is set up on an external monitor hidden in a case that looks like an instrument monitor. Nobody knows it is even there which makes me look good :D I bought this so that I could consolidate my chord charts (digital and otherwise). It is just blowing my mind. It can control my lighting for me without even having to touch the screen (I use foot pedals to navigate through my sets). I no longer have to rely on my friend who may have had enjoyed himself a bit more then he should have prior to the performance. I can send charts to those who may be joining me on the stage during the week so that we are all on the same page before we get to the performance. I am ready to start using the Connect feature so that I can have an extra device with me and whoever ends up with me will see everything I am and I can keep my eyes on the crowd and not sending cues to whoever. The best part of this is when I had questions, the OnSong crew actually provided answers and helpful hints that blew me away even more. They provided clear consise answers and links to all their video tutorials. The app is better then any software/app that I have paid hundreds of dollars for in the past.

I have been using OnSong and several of their tools and addons for several years. Using the app in various situations and gigs, OnSong is a great way to store and organize your music charts. It is feature rich and easy to set up and configure. They also have great tech support and customer service. I have used OnSong while working in three different project and It helps me keep my project content organized and up to date. It's my opinion that once someone learns to properly create and/or edit charts in the chordpro format, the OnSong app does the rest! OnSong paired with the bluetooth pedal is a complete solution for working musicians! (OnSong, Drawing tool & OnSong Console)

At 71 I tend to be a slow learner with computer related things. An hour after I downloaded the ONSONG app I was able to find music, hi light chords, change keys, erase unwanted text and so on with the 120 songs I installed. Now I have hundreds of tunes in the app. And sticky notes anywhere I need them. I could go on but I am sure you get the point.... works like the ONSONG folks said it would. I emailed ONSONG with a few questions prior to purchasing, in a few hours I had 4 emails answering my questions. Service BEFORE I was a customer!

I do love this app. My brother & I use it making music at home. It’s easy to make corrections, import, Dropbox, beats the stuffings out of the old loose leaf. The only downside is my dependency on it. I used to just learn a song and sing it. Onsong does make coordinating with my brother on arrangement much easier.
h2odog's Review of OnsongReviewed on 12/1/18 12:55 PM
I’ve been using OnSong for a while now for our church band and I’m continually amazed at the functionality and options. It save me so much time and effort. Easy song entry? Check. Transpose with a couple clicks? Check. Scroll songs wirelessly? Check. Play a metronome or backing track? Check. And this just scratches the surface. Down the road, I’d love to see a multitrack player built in that would let me load individual stems, turn on or off tracks depending on who I have playing on a given Sunday, adjust track levels, etc. Even if that never happens, this app gets five stars from me. Well worth the price.
Drummerboy214's Review of OnsongReviewed on 11/9/17 12:02 AM
This app is amazing except, when someone beams you a setlist you can’t save it onto your library. Please make it possible to save the songs that were beamed onto your own music library.

I have used OnSong for several years now. It continues to add features. It is simple to use and the support is outstanding. I also have the drawing tool(very useful for notes on a particular song) and the Console add on app. Console is very easy to edit your songs. The online videos are very good and helpful. I would highly recommend OnSong to any musician looking to simplify their music library.
~D!no's Review of OnsongReviewed on 11/29/18 12:40 PM
I LOVE the potential of OnSong, and I use it daily. But I can’t rely on it for live performances, due to the autoscroll time not saving properly. Frequently (not every time; maybe half) I’ll play the intro and first verse, maybe first chorus, and realize I can’t keep up because OnSong decided to change my 4 minute song to 2:30 (not exact numbers, but it’s ALWAYS much faster than what I set). Fix that one issue, it’s a five star app despite other shortcomings and possibilities. As/is, it’s a decent practice tool and a great songbook, but it’s not stageworthy. Edit: I just opened Weather With You by Crowded House for the first time in a few months. The time had reset to 27 minutes. So I guess it’s not always faster after all. PLEASE FIX THIS!
Ryan M R's Review of OnsongReviewed on 11/28/17 9:57 PM
This app is very capable but complex. There are easier apps. Try songbook as an example. OnSong is very good at going beyond just flipping pages and controlling things - background tracks, lighting, and so on. You can also control display of songs across multiple devices at the same time. Depends on how important all this remote control that is to you. Sharing content (like songs) among multiple musicians is possible but quite a chore to set up and manage. You have to keep importing songs. In some other products they just appear and just update as you change them. The documentation on sharing is poorly written and confusing. Read it, but be prepared to do a lot of trial and error before you get it to work. Also the desktop versions are a bit of a joke. All I wanted to do was to use the desktop to edit and import songs. But you have to have your ipad on with OnSong running just to get it to open. They say they will someday have a true desktop application but they’ve been saying this for a while, I would not count on it any time soon. In summary use this app if you need the advanced control features. Otherwise consider easier alternatives. I recommend OnSong do work to improve their interface. They obviously have capable engineers, but if the engineers build a feature and people struggle to use it then the feature is useless. Creating lots of documentation or videos is nice but should not be necessary.

Updated review: OnSong is an amazing piece of software! It is not just an app it is so much more. The only thing better than this program is the OnSong support team. They are quick to respond and go above and beyond to help and teach me more about this software! Another amazing update! I use this at least once a week and sometimes more when I'm out jamming with friends or playing in church. This doesn't just show chords and lyrics from a limited source, but let's you write your own stuff and the project that on a wall to sing! So many features it makes other apps look boring.

If you aren’t sure if you want to spend the money for this app, do it!! You will not be disappointed. This app has so much to offer: Console (an awesome editing tool), a drawing tool, you can transpose, use of backing tracks, MIDI and a million of things. They even have great support! The OnSong team is in top of things. Great job!!!!!

***** Update OnSong team has done it again! Amazing update and new features I didn't even think I needed but has already improved my performance!!! Thank you so much!!! What a difference OnSong has made not just to my life as a worship leader but that of over 20 other great musicians in our church. Our sister church is the biggest in Liverpool, England and has church plants right across Europe. It was while playing over at our Athens church plant 2 years ago that I was told about OnSong. Up until then I used to carry hundreds of sheets of paper songs around with me which was always a nightmare. Your superb app has changed everything. I love it more than anything else that I have on my iPad. It has made me more relaxed while leading which helps me to focus more on God than shifting bits of paper around.
JavierXY's Review of OnsongReviewed on 11/27/17 3:51 AM
First of all, I love the app, like, it has made my life much more easier when it comes to organizing the music of my worship. That’s why I’d like to address the few bugs that I found so far: 1) The chord format it’s not changing the chords over lyric to bracketed chord and vice versa. 2) Having trouble exporting. It either export one song at a time or all, its not letting me export selected songs. 3) Everytime I press to view a song, the keyboard appears and disappears. 4) A library named default keeps being created. For now, these are the bugs I’ve found. But other than that, It’s a great app! It worth every penny!

msblsb's Review of OnsongReviewed on 11/22/17 8:41 PM
The interface for text editing is clunky. It does not act like any other text editing app. Imported files do not stay in the same format as saved. After several days of non use, upon opening, they are formatted differently. Sometimes reverting to old saves. Saved sets disappear from the list and sometimes are just empty of song files.
Tom Stitzer's Review of OnsongReviewed on 11/21/17 12:31 PM
Had to update this review because they have been talking about version 2 now for LITERALLY years and yes I know what literally means. I actually wrote them an email a few years ago and asked about a certain features that Tabkeeper has that I was trying to get in Onsong that seemed pretty basic: the ability to do side by side columns. So to have lyrics on the left half of the page and then to have the rest of the song lyrics on the right hand of the page. That's something that's very basic, something I used to do with a type writer back in the day when I had to hand type my chord charts, and something that helps you not have to worry about scrolling while performing. They said? It's coming in version 2 in just a few months! That was, LITERALLY, years ago. And like we see, what we gotten over the years is release 1.99990, 1.99991, 1.99992, etc. I am not sure but o think we've gone through two iOS major updates since that email (iOS 9 and 10). Just release version 2 already! --------------------- Old review They have been talking about version 2 for months. So many things they say will be coming then. Tires of waiting. TabKeeper is what works for me and has pretty much all the features I require.

I find this app very cumbersome. I contacted customer support about issues connecting with the Console and after 24 hrs, still no response. Also, was working ok (although very tedious to set up with song editor) and out of nowhere, the "Convert" button is not available! Really?? Think twice before buying this user-unfriendly app!

I submitted a support request on September 3rd and another on September 6th. I have not received a response for either one. The support files online have been difficult to search for the answers I’m looking for. In general, it’s an okay app. I would like to see more flexibility in the display options such as being able to center the title, relocating the time signature and tempo information to the left and the author to the right just under the title like most professionally published sheet music would have it. I would also like the option to display chords when projected. I sometimes lead a strum-along ukulele event for 50 or more people and it would be nice to display the larger text and chords of a section rather than in monitor mode where it displays the whole sheet. But first they need to improve their response time for support requests...

With the upgrade to Nashville notation this app becomes indispensable in small, pickup jams. It acts a bit flaky when using WiFi to share songs and lyrics but a small problem compared to the benefits.
DrDoug7's Review of OnsongReviewed on 11/16/18 2:09 PM
OnSong is one fantastic app for going all digital with your sheet music, chord sheets and lyrics too! OnSong handles ALL your displaying and live performance needs including MIDI and lighting too! There is absolutely NO other app that comes close to even doing half of what OnSong does effortlessly! I did need to contact support once or twice, and they ALWAYS have been supportive, knowledgeable, and wonderful to work with, always completely addressing my needs! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ANYWHERE ELSE! You would regret not experiencing this wonderful OnSong app! BTW, I am an enduser and have no connection to the company other than being 10,000% convinced that OnSong is the BEST! I tried almost all of any similar products available from free to very costly. Its only OnSong that will do All that you’ll ever need! Kindest regards to the OnSong Team! You’ve got the Best! Thanks!

I liked all the features they advertised.. I thought would be easier to type lyrics and chords in google docs then import.. it says your u can Import direct from docs and you can but after that won’t allow me to edit it like one I started a song from scratch in OnSong.. And all the nice features like console to allow you to edit on a computer is $9.99 more then another feature drawing $2.99 really... the freakin app was $24.99 now I guess I’m stuck with it.. I’d rather uninstall and get refund.
PKBell04's Review of OnsongReviewed on 10/6/18 8:32 PM
All in all, it’s great for as you say ... managing lots of songs, very flexible in how you can put them in, etc. where i still find it a bit “sticky” is when my duo partner and I try to “pair” the two together so I can control the list and see what I see. More than once it’s not worked 100%. We carry our own WiFi HotSpot for this purpose, even. So that still needs a little work IMHO. Also... when I back up a book of songs, load it on Google Drive and he tries to import, OnSong will freeze and only way to get it working again is completely uninstall and reinstall. This has been the case in both iOS and now 12. He has an iPad Air Gen 2 and I have the iPad Pro. So it works great if we don’t get too fancy. 😁

Be careful with the potential bugs that can ruin a concert, especially when Apple releases a new IOS. Just delay the update of the IOS to allow these bugs to be discovered and fixed, especially when your band depends on OnSong is your primary source of music info when playing live. Otherwise, this is a great app.

OnSong is a game changer for musicians. It seams like it’s been forever that I carried around 2 folders full of music . One with everything I had available and one to transfer to for the service at church. Getting rid of the bulky music stand and replacing it with a mic stand is by far a better look . The app is easy to use and can also trigger my pads live sounds cross fading them in and out , and all I do is change to the next song . A foot controller is all you need and many are available. It’s time to make the switch to OnSong and leave the paper behind.

I like most of the features, but the Scenes add-on has an ArtNet DMX function that seems to be faulty in operation and crashes if too many things are configured in the lights editor. I confirmed things were set up correctly on my ArtNet DMX rig by using QLab on a MacBook Pro - QLab works perfectly for a 7 trait light fixture, but OnSong has yet to deliver. If I get good customer service, I intend to update this review and improve the rating.

I always recommend this to fellow musicians and worship leaders. It has some really great features from on the fly transposing and capos. I couldn’t give 5 stars because some of the other bugs like rwtc subscriptions not keeping my login info and I’d like to see the ability to move chords easier. With out using a text file edit. Something where I can just highlight it and scoot it over without affecting the chords around it. Overall it’s an awesome app.

Spotniq's Review of OnsongReviewed on 1/1/18 5:33 PM
I love OnSong, however I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with the up since the last update. I input 99% of my music by typing it in using an external apple keyboard.. I use split screen A LOT so I have OnSong on the left and Dropbox on the right while typing... it now glitches every time I have this set up, for some reason I can’t scroll while in edit mode (sometimes it will scroll but it will be really really choppy), and if I use shortcut cmd + tab to switch between apps it also glitches by wanting to bring up the iPad screen keyboard .. I hide it and it keeps coming up.. sometimes it completely takes me out of the edit screen and when I go back in, it says something about an error occurred and asks if I want to recover my changes. I have songs (from my iTunes library) attached to my chord charts so I can play along and practice.. when I press the play button and want to pause the song it doesn’t pause.. it somehow activates the music app in the background and I have to get out of the app and pause the song in the music app in order to pause.. I didn’t have any of these issues prior to this las update. Again I love this app it has changed the way I play at church.. but man.. these glitches are making it extremely difficult to work. Please fix !! I have the 9.7” iPad Pro so I know it’s not my iPad.. all other apps work flawlessly.
