It is impossible to get any songs in this app. Either from the app or from another source. This is ridiculous.

This super useful tool gets put through its paces. I use it on many gigs and rehearsals a year. I like that the feature lists seems to be expanding. If I could hope for new features, I would request two. The ability to create indexes for books the don't have them. Greater capability to edit the provided indexes would prove useful as well

If you are a jazz musician — either actively gigging, or attending jam sessions — if you don’t have iGigBook, you NEED it. Indexes allow easy and quick song callup. Search my song name or composer! No more fumbling with stacks of books. Easy to make set lists. Highly recommended.

This is an amazingly useful app. I have bought many fake books in my life. They are clunky, and you need a suitcase if you want to bring several of them with you on the road. Over the years I found most of those books in PDF form for free on the internet. I don't feel bad about using them, because I did by the actual book years ago! With iGigBook I can now have all those books, and my own music with me on every gig on my iPad. Not only that, but the smart index system of iGigBook makes it super easy and fast to do a search across all books in seconds. AMAZING! How did we live without it?!?

The drawing feature is ok using your finger. However it is terrible with the iPad pencil. Very long lag time while trying to draw using my iPad pencil. Also the draw feature does not work properly in split screen on a ipad pro. You draw a figure, ad it appears a inch away. So if you want to make very basic updates, the draw feature is ok.

My score navigation tool doesn’t work. When I enter a repeat it just keeps repeating over and over again. I also entered where the end repeat it is, but that has no effect. If only there was someone I could talk ask about this. Extremely frustrating. Guess I’ll have to invest in a different app. Strongly discourage anyone from buying iGigBook unless they have hours to experiment with it.

I am really dissatisfied and disappointed with this application, I really regret this useless app a lot. I was expecting to have a really practical useful great app, but no. And also, is not possible to request a refund of this app cause Apple Days that "This app doesn't meet the conditions for a refund " So, I lost my money in this useless app. I completely regret of this pseudo- app. I had to make an extensive and useless "workaround" through a very outdated web site outside the application, which involves spending a lot of time configuring the application and, if I do not have internet, I can not work with the application with the features they offer in the ad, For example: to get access to the index csv files, to be able to include our own index files (it has ambiguous information), because I have to create all index files through that site, and NOT by the application, either I can include or attach my own csv files to the application. Also, with the purchases within the application there is a function that I have to pay, and that means that if I want to have that function, the application, then it is not $ 14.99, it would be $ 5 more. (Final price not worth $ 20us + taxes) Finally, I would like to mention this: Apple has always been concerned about offering an excellent user experience in all its devices and applications. This application, it seems an old software for Windows (of the 90s), or a poor application for Android devices. Sadly, I can´t request a refund of this app!! What a way to earn money, selling useless app and announcing this app like a great app!! Completely upset Don´t buy this app——By the way, it´s not an app, it´s more an WebApp. than a truly app. ForScore it´s a so much better option that involves the full features in the same price, also, you can include your own CSV Files,! The design is so much better..a lot! Believe me!
Acadiahiker's Review of Igigbook Sheet Music Manager 7Reviewed on 9/9/19 2:09 PM
I've been working with Igigbook for a mere 6 straight hours. At this point I have one song indexed, and I can't reconstruct how I got that one to index. I'm emotionally exhausted by trying to figure out how to make this program work. I know I'll get it, because I invested mucho bucks in this iPad so I won't give up til I get it, and my friends are using it and loving it. But don't delude yourself into thinking this process is simple. It's now after 2a.m. and I'm delirious with frustration. I read the forums and they are populated with condescension and scorn for those who don't get it. I feel like I've entered a new world full of sickos. Hopefully in two weeks I'll give this five stars, but today, it isn't worth a freakin penny. _Two Years later—.still only 3 stars. This app is like a girlfriend who is both sexy and wacko. Do you love her or divorce her. For example, if I go to the instructions page on how to download a pdf -which is fundamental to this app, the instruction are for something else. That’s right, they goofed up their HELP page! And no, it’s not just switcheroo, it’s not there. Also, some basic things are impossible, such as changing the name of the song. I have several pdf songs that are titled and indexed by 15 digits and dashes, or some that are, “p.24 200 Boogie Wookiee Hits of the 1950’s”. But the real title is Shall We Dance. I can’t change the title to shall we dance, so my set list is unintelligible, and you can’t alphabetize numbers. Furthermore, The search feature doesn’t find half my scores. I have songs that I can see in my set list, yet when I search for them, spelled exactly like their set list name...nope, they don’t show up. This app is not intuitive. For example, the best way to add a song to a set list is NOT on Set List Manager, because the search feature may not find the song, but rather from the song itself, hit the plus icon. The icons are not intuitive either. Why not use words? Oh, by the way, the feature they advertise most is that the app indexes all these books. Don’t buy it for that. The index almost never matches the edition you own or can download. If you want a decent index you have to scan into pdf any song you want, one by one - plan to spend a few days in that- and then you can title it yourself on your scanner. Lots of problems in the design. But, like that sexy lady, once you learn to forgive the annoying things, it’s handy to have on your music stand at a gig.

I’ve been struggling with this for 2 weeks. I have a software degree, admittedly not recent, but this program confounds me. Songs I delete show up other places, when I email a set list to myself of 18 songs, only 4 show up in the PDF. Organizing set lists is awful! I’ve written to support, but so far,no help. I bought it for one iPad thinking I could use it on others and sync, but I’m not allowed to download it to the other iPads without buying it again.argh! I would gladly pay for someone to sit with me for 30 minutes and iron out my issues. I’m about ready to give up. I sense that many are using this and loving it. Wish I was in the group!

You can do a lot with this program. Intuitive? Some parts yes, some not so much. Deleting added notes I have yet to figure out how to do that. I use this app on almost every gig. I play with different bands with very different repertoires that I used to have cheat sheet printouts, music stand, clothes pins, music stand light all next to my mike stand. Now just an iPad clamped to the mike stand is all I need. Very worthwhile and useful app

I highly recommend IGigBook for anyone interested in having a highly portable index to all of their PDF fake book collections. There is no further need to carry heavy satchels of printed music books around. Being a non-geek, I had little trouble setting up the app.
Twjkk3's Review of Igigbook Sheet Music Manager 7Reviewed on 12/14/18 1:18 PM
First let me say that I highly recommend this app without any reservation. Realize that the process of indexing your own PDF files will take up a fair amount of time but ultimately worth being able to search. Wish List: 1. When searching for a song with a single word title I wish the algorithm would prefer the single word ahead of every other song that contains the word in its' title i.e. "Smile", which produces hundreds of hits but buries "Smile" far down the list 2. It would be nice to have the option to change the background color. Often the iPad is illuminating your face with the drab gray which is not very flattering unless you desire a zombie like appearance. 3. It is awkward at times to search on the fly. The search/x/cancel box located at the top right is not always cooperative. It would be nice to have the option of locating this feature underneath the keyboard instead of in separate locations. 4. The table of contents you provide does not always match the version of the fake book that I have of the same title. Often it is only a few pages off but nonetheless of no use. Indexing seems to be the only current fix for this. Are there any other solutions currently available?

Once you figure out that you have to scan your fake/real books, and, if they are not in the list already, you'll have to index them, everything works just fine. It's great that you can find different versions of the same tune, so you can choose the one with the best changes. Here's who I think will benefit from iGigBook: -You are a musician who plays (or wants to play) from fake books -You have access to well-prepared digital versions of fake books (they do not come with the app) -You are willing to put in a few hours to read the instructions and set the books up in iGigBook -You have either good eyesight or an iPad Pro with a large display If you meet these criteria, you will be in hog heaven with iGigBook. You will have near immediate access to any song in multiple fake books and, depending on your source material, in multiple keys. Lacking any of the above listed requirements, you will probably be disappointed. The 5-star rating is for those who are willing to put a little work into it to harvest the rewards.

Kyoung21b's Review of Igigbook Sheet Music Manager 7Reviewed on 12/14/18 1:18 PM
This is a great app that is useful to musicians in so many ways. As someone who can memorize reasonably well, I am nonetheless not the savant who can recall any obscure piece at the drop of a hat. This app provides opportunities for mortals like me where previously those opportunities were only available to such savants. Not to mention that I no longer require a tow truck to get all the charts I might need to workshops. I'd love to see a couple of additional features (e.g. linking to recordings even when charts aren't in a set list) but overall the set of features is more than most of us could hope for in an app.

Took me a while to figure this out. But now that I know how to use it, I am showing all my musician friends. Took my iPad, phone, and computer to Germany for a series of gigs. In rehearsal, I was able to receive new music PDFs and upload them instantly, and then add rehearsal notes. Best part is no heavy gig-book and searching through a hundred pages. I am a diehard fan. BTW I'm a harpist with both hands too busy to turn pages. The companion pager app was revolutionary for me.

derjazzmeister's Review of Igigbook Sheet Music Manager 7Reviewed on 12/14/18 1:18 PM
I purchased this app soon after receiving my 9.7 inch iPad Pro. If you are expecting to find all of the real books listed in the description included in the download, you are mistaken. Only the INDICES of the books are included. You will need to provide scans of the books in PDFs yourself. Since Apple doesn't provide a simple way to get documents to your iPad, the app allows you to link your pdfs to the corresponding predefined index via Dropbox or iCloud Drive. I spent a better part of a weekend afternoon getting the app set up and synchronized with the pdfs I already had. The timing was great because I had a gig that Sunday night and I was looking forward to trying it out. One of my unexpected favorite features of this app is the construction of set lists. You can do a song search and drop the song into a set list or you can browse through a book and add a given song to a set list. If a song is more than one page, all pages make it into the set list. When I got to my first gig, I was not sure how this was going to work so I brought my books as "backup" but they were totally unnecessary. I didn't have to think about what song was next. I didn't have to turn pages to find it, I just tapped the bottom of the screen and the next tune was ready to go. No more playing an "alphabetic" set list or paging through hoping to find something in the remaining minutes of a set. UPDATE - I have played several gigs with this now and added a foot pedal to advance pages. This is a must when reading off charts > 1 page! I needed to contact support once about an issue I had with a built in index. Support was very responsive and was able to address the issue within minutes. Improvements I would love to see: * A smarter way to turn pages. Now that I have the pedal, this isn't an issue for me, but it has been frustrating to tap the screen expecting a page turn but instead getting the top menu. In the heat of the battle, it's hard to be accurate with where you poke the screen. * You would think editing a page, like adding a missing chord symbol or something would be very simple. The editing interface is such an awful mystery. Very unintuitive. The ability to use the Apple Pencil (or even your finger!) to draw notes, make corrections directly on the page and save them back to a set list or the actual PDF is an obvious improvement to me and should be highly prioritized. * The ability to advance pages even when the current page is "zoomed." In portrait view, scans do not always fill the screen. It would be nice if when resized, pages could still be advanced (especially with a pedal). * The ability to set a default zoom per page (or at least per book) and have that zoom setting to songs in set lists. Some scans have fairly wide margins and when working on a 9.7 inch device, there's plenty of room to increase the zoom, thereby filling the page with the chart, but there's no way to make it stick (and no way to turn the page when it's zoomed). * The addition of a Key column in the song index. Imagine you have a dozen or so scans of fake books. It is likely that you will have more than one instance of a tune. It is also likely that you will have the same tunes in multiple keys. I think it would be nice to see the addition of a Key column, even if it is not in the default index, but some way to add it in yourself. This would be helpful when working with a vocalist or instrumentalist. - For now it would have to be added in a set list, but by the time its in a set list you known what the key is. * The ability to browse ALL your songs without first needing to do a search. * The removal of the tool tips on every link on the web interface (this is a personal preference) * Make the composer field optional on custom pdfs from the web interface. (It used to be an optional field) * After playing with ForScore, I love the feature of turning the iPad into landscape and the page fills edge to edge left and right, showing the top half of the page. When I advance with the pedal, the page view shifts down, keeping the same nice and full width and showing the bottom half of the page. Hit the pedal again and it advances to the top of the next half of the page. I would use this all the time--it's so much easier to read on a 9.7 inch screen. Instead what happens in iGigBook, is the portrait sized page shrinks to fit on the whole screen. You get two pages side by side. Nice if you have a 12 inch iPad but useless if you have a "regular sized" iPad. Also the zoom in this view is awful. Overall - while there is room for improvement, the best thing about this app has been the amazing reduction of all the "stuff" I have to bring to a gig. I can put this up on the piano and I have all my charts with me. The manual entry of song titles in your own book is handy but extremely tedious, and easy for book indexes to get "off." I don't know what a solution to that would be. There is no way to reindex the default Fake books so your scans better have all the pages, including the pictures. This is a shortcoming, in my opinion.

What you get with this app is solid, user friendly app to manage all your jazz, blues and even classical and pop music charts, including sheet music. I've tried and purchased other apps and this app is my all-time favorite and main app. You get most of the realbooks of jazz standards and you can update your library with your personal collection. I used to carry 2 or 3 realbooks to gigs. That's passé! Now, I can import my own pdfs. I can also transpose popular jazz standards, and with newer updates, I can practice my favorite chops with iTunes play along from within the app. The latest update was genius!!! Above all, this app was created by a fellow musician for other musicians. Unlike other apps published by giant corporations, Phil Smith takes the time to send relevant emails regarding updates without all the ads and enticement to pay for useless add-on. And he's always taking suggestions to improve the app. Download this app and show your love!
