Okay I’m going to start off weird... HEY SISTERS!! I love this app is awesome and cool

Add more sounds in GarageBand!!!!!

I think it’s time Apple updated GarageBand with a few features (that would really help me to better use the software): 10.5-in iPad Pro display support. It looks like its still zoomed in on a 9.7-in iPad display resolution. Ability to disable multitasking gestures in-app. Makes playing certain instruments like the drums or piano an absolute pain. More keyboard command codes. It would enable us to quickly navigate the control bar, headers, and possibly change dials on the fly. Ability to change dials to precise values, and a tool-tip that would appear with a value next to the dial itself. Increase tempo range. 40-240 is too narrow, while something 1-999 could allow for some crazy awesome music. Ability to customize key signature to anything. More than 640 measures, please. A new voice recorder / instrument that can record using the microphone for an indefinite amount of time, where measures are not used. (Just like a simple recording feature like voice memos on iPhone, but with multiple tracks and different microphones). This would be the most useful feature for me. Otherwise the content is amazing and the number of features is awesome! I just wish some of those basic features would update to provide even more customization.

When any project becomes a certain size, this “Optimizing Performance” screen will pop up and takes time to load. The pop up frequency and loading times increase as the project becomes larger. I’m not sure why or how, but most tracks will either become distorted or silent, and sounds will no longer display in the Visual EQs. *TIP: Always make duplicates of your larger projects before making any changes, just to save yourself an even bigger headache.* In order to reverse the damage done, I’ve found 2 solutions: (1) Open and close each individual track by double-clicking the track header, or by clicking the piano keys icon in the control bar—this opens the instrument view—and then back out to the playlist view. (Repeat for all tracks) Or (2) Delete each track and ‘Undo’ each track deletion. Be careful with this method if you don’t duplicate your projects. I love making music with this app, but I have many unfinished projects because of this feature. If I open any of my larger projects, I have to wait 10 mins or longer for the performance to finish “optimizing.” Then by the time I fix what the “optimization” broke, it “optimizes” again... yikes... ...And by “larger projects”, I mean projects consisting of 15-20 tracks of MIDI and audio files, that’s 3 and a half minutes long... so... yeaaaahhhh...

It would be great if we could archive and pass off sessions to friends. We need to be able to store ideas on a hard drive and be able to reload them into GB. Timecode would be a handy big boy feature..Being able to set two points on the time line for looping. Fret less bass. A jazz drummer and jazz kits.Better samples functionality. I could go on but the main thing I want to say that GB could so so much more than it is. If you took this in house workability and added far more professional functionality like some of your competitors like Cubasis, we would spend good money for it. You got to want it. But you still get five stars.

There was a particular update on GarageBand when they first introduced the alchemy synths. That update was great because when the alchemy synths were first introduced, there were other keyboards that were built with the alchemy but I updated it again and now there is only one sound with the alchemy synths. These keyboards sounded very professional unlike the normal ones GarageBand has that sound very techno and Dubstep. I loved this keys because you could make a good graph beat style with them. And also bring better mixed sounding loops and improve mike quality. Please and thanks

So I was making my normal beats, And then my app froze. And so I restarted it (closing it out then opening it back up), and my screen was glitching then I restarted it then a glitch for a second and then my iCloud files were wiped completely of my beats. All the beats from day one, to recent beats. I digress, that must’ve triggered something because my phone was basically offloading every app I had on my phone. I had to restore all my apps back and it took almost 3 days.

This is a good app I have used for along time since it's early stages and have seen alot of stuff added and changed one thing I would really enjoy is a community creations of sorts where others can upload there songs and play/edit/remix others songs unless it's already a thing and I'm missing something.

It used to work but now when I play a beat I made it doesn’t want to play, I tried to delete the app and re install it but still not working. I still love the app.

It’s a great app but it’s missing one thing that would help all of the users. If you could save certain instruments with a star system of some sort it would make finding that perfect sound a lot easier.

Everything is fine and dandy except the fact that even though you said: “Can Import MIDIs now.” I couldn’t import my .MID or .MIDI files at all. If this can be fixed that’d be great. If you’re reading, thank you for reading.

This app is amazing well apple but I got one suggestion: why can’t this app support multitask, I can’t get two apps side by side so please add it Apple!

First of all I want to say, GarageBand is AWESOME! But... There are some changes that can be made. 1. More drum sounds! I think that adding some more drum kits and cymbals and different sounds of percussion instruments would be a good touch. 2. A few guitar sounds and bass sounds would be nice. The hard rock guitar is so loud it’s annoying! 3. Finally, a way to make your own custom sounds! For example, on drums, you record your own noises, and then you can play a beat using it. Thanks Apple! 😁

Just so good this app is amazing and it’s my go to for music (band) although I wish they had the flute.But it’s still amazing!

It is a wonderful fun game

App is great and is progressively moving in the right direction. I’ve been using the AP since it came out and it has come a long way. One main feature I wish it had would be ACCELEROMETER BASED SHAKE INSTRUMENTS. Maraca, tambourine, etc. Hope one day to see this feature.

This app is AMAZING!!! 10/10no exceptions. However, it would be cool to add dubstep drums and make ur own dubstep beats. Also be cool to add a drop maker. Like make those sick dubstep drops in songs by Wubbaduck or Colbreakz. Or add more dubstep genres like growl dubstep or Energetic dubstep. Don’t have to listen to me, but just a suggestion!

GarageBand has been a staple in Macintosh for quite some time, always simplifying the software while adhering to the current trends. It was great for recording multiple live tracks through a PA system nearly 10 years ago, but people criticize the iOS app for it’s “techno sounds.” It’s free, and it’s fun, but can be used professionally for studio quality sound. If it’s not enough for you, invest in Logic Pro and you probably won’t have time to write reviews on the AppStore.

Garageband for the IOS is truly amazing for creating complex and creative original productions without the hassles that other Music Production software brings. Multiple Instruments, plugins, and other options make this app great for on the go projects. This being said, the equalizer lacks in depth operation that is available on the computer, which is odd because it seems perfectly easy to port to the phone, and the amount of plugins available lack in options. Adding new plugins for more in depth music creators, (Deesser, Basic sound limiters, sidechaining, etc.) would truly make this app a real competitor against other production software.

Hi! This app is really educational and I never learned about any of these instruments besides common instruments the guitar etc. so I am really excited about readiness of you because this app and it mine blowing to me I don’t know how to explain it but I know it’s a really good exclamation so please make more of these apps and I’m excited for if you release a new one and if you release a big update thanks!

You see, I have around 100 little tunes I’ve made with this app. However, I’m trying to open them to listen to them again but it just wont work, they’re in an infinite loop of “Now Downloading...” Please fix this.

The app is alright, especially to be free. But this is not for professional use in any way( I used it to create clarinet ensemble pieces.) I rate it 3 stars cause I have had a recent issue that caused me to loose over 15 hours of work because the app wouldn’t open, and the only solution was to completely delete the app(and all its data).

I did a very sick beat and I closed it to rename it so i wont get confused of which is which, when i finished renaming it and went back to edit some stuff the app crashed, i opened the app again it crashed now i can not do the beat anymore,,,, please fix please thank you, anyway its a really great app just needs bug fixing

Using it on my iPhone is a nightmare as there is no tutorial (or if there is, the app is so poorly structured I have no idea how to get to it) I attempted making something for half an hour and it was so confusing I got really mad. I’d rate 0 stars because I have no idea what anything does and without a proper tutorial I don’t know how to do anything

I love the app. I actually have music in all major stores—and all thanks to GarageBand. A quick suggestion: GBC. GarageBand Community. People can make loops and drum kits, then put them on the community. That would make it to where we could have a much more extensive Sound library. Also in the community, users could post songs they make and, if they’d like, give other users access to the projects. Then I will happily give you a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 rating—that is, if you give me the ability to do so! 😂

I absolutely LOVE this app, and have used it for years to create countless songs, and just jam. It is the best music app for any mobile device. I love the variety of instruments, but it could REALLY use a UKULELE! A ukulele option in the instruments section would be AWESOME. Besides this, AMAZING APP.

I love this app if I had in a idea in my head for melody or a chord progressions but I can’t seem to do that anymore because the keyboard won’t pop. I cant’t even place down any loop anymore

It has a poor performance in my iPad. Before iOS 12 upgrade its getting worse.

Pre-templates of drummers aren’t too good, including the fact that even if you take off fills-it still automatically plays fills!! Recording a little synth thing became a headache. I tried looping it and it’s not fluid no matter how many times I tried catching the exact moment I wanted the synth part to start over. Also for whatever reason I cannot download “songs” I made (which was just me trying to figure out the app).

Well the app is completely useless now. I haven’t used this in probably 3+ months and just now redownloaded it, only to find I have to create documents for...I’m not sure why honestly. Every time I click create a new document though, it brings me to the instrument page and then promptly says I don’t have permission to do that. I was so excited to use this again and mess around but now....I have absolutely no idea what y’all did to make this the worst music app ever.

I have had this for a long time, even before drummer and live loop features were added. I do have some suggestions for more instruments. A Harp, trombone, tuba, saxophone, trumpet, and a soozaphone added to "other" in the "synth" section. And banjo and a mandolin to the "guitar" section. Ok so that's my review. Needs more time signature options

Love the app I just feel like there could be more trap and hip hop drum machines and loops. Some new RnB loops and voice samples would be a nice update. More Piano loops could be a good thing to add as well

This App is absolutely amazing. I use this to create 95% of my beats.

This is a fairly fun app to play with, and as a music artist, a very fun playground for instruments I can’t afford. That being said, how hard is it to make sure your digital guitar is in tune? Get it together.

This is the app i will forever cherish. I started making music with this and i have learned more about third app and how to use everything and now i feel like this app could bring me somewhere!

It says how to get other instruments but only gives sound packs how do i get flutes, clarinets and other instruments! 😭😢

Hello apple, im so thankful for your app that makes everything possible but you can do more thing i mean you can add more instruments to your app such as HANG DRUM,DUDUK,... it can help so much as you know these days many producers use these instruments to get better sound and influence to their listeners i will be so happy if you read this and make it possible for your users. new review: I think this app is awesome. Finally, you can import midi!!! Yay! That definitely expands your range of possibilities. Great sounds, lots to play around with. Great on iPad, but a little cramped on iPhone in some instances. I actually prefer cutting audio on the smaller screen of the iPhone however, over the iPad, just because on the iPhone everything’s a your fingertips. You can do it laying down, chillin out. I now record vocals in the app Spire the import them into Garageband. I’ve been looking into Audio Unit version 3 (AUv3) plugins for processing my vocals and hope to find one really soon. The app has grown so much and it inspires me to see how much is possible on Mobile. Otherwise these tools are not something i’d be able to afford. Thank-you so much Apple and best wishes to all artists!!!! old review: This app and Auxy are a power couple. I use Auxy to produce my musical tracks then record my vocals here in Garageband. Great stuff!! ❤️ I would like a recording, mixing and mastering version of this app without the instruments though. That would be awesome and no i’m not being sarcastic I just find myself to only be importing instrumentals from other sources. :)

I love This App, But it doesn’t have A harp, Vibraphone, marimba, xylophone, Tubular Bells, And many more instruments.

Ok so i go to loops and I find 1 and out of all of the loops NONE OF THEM FIT WITH THE ONE IM TRYING TO USE.and another thing how come most of the loops and the other Instruments are mostly up beat there’s like 80% fast and up beat and 20% slow and soft beats I really like this app I would hate to stop using it (witch I’m not) it would be 5 stars if more slow and soft beats thanks for reading good day.

I am out raged! I just got my second iPad mini and it says I can't down load this app on either one of them because it's not compatible.. I just played with garage band on an iPad mini at Walmart so what's the issue I need this app for my production!!

Garage Band have very good musical. I only have one problems and it is you would add more sound that are not just future sounds. Thank for read this app reviews on GarageBand.

I will set up a track using Apple’s own audio unit extensions, come back to it later and all the settings on the units will be set back to defaults. Also saved presets do not work. Third party units save just fine. Very frustrating! Otherwise great app.

Add brushes for the drums

I’m so happy I can make music so easily on my iPhone, and resume working on it on my Macbook. It’s so handy for those times I have an impulse to compose something but away from my Mac. I do however wish I was able to add automation for stereo channels and not just volume.

Quite advanced for a free DAW / Production App. Recent updates have improved it’s usefulness to a more professional level.

I want to use gritty bells, but once I record there’s a delay in sound when I play any key, and also, after I record even with the delay, the notes some how come out distorted, not at all sounding like what was being recorded. This is frustrating me because I have specific rhythm I have in my head and I wanna see what that can become

This is the best mobile app to make music on the go. Hands down. With the latest additions, its become so rich, its my go to to when developing that melody in my head while im not in front of a computer. However, its not perfect. Yesterday, I lost an entire track because of an unintended consequence of the save feature. As you know, GB will save your progress when you exit the app. Theres no difference between exiting the app and locking your scree, since all the saving logic seems to occur during the onPause() method, regardless of what’s making it pause. I guess this unintended feature would also happen when switching apps but i havent tested that one. Anyway, saving during onPause is the best thing to do, but it has the very important consequence of wiping out your history along with it. So, if you made some destructive changes that you you are not sure are going to stay, or deleted something unintentionally but selecting the track instead of the region, and realize you have to do something else in the real world, i had to get off the subway, you lock your screen and boom! History, and your ability to undo and go back, are all gone! For me who mainly uses GB on the go, this is a great deal. I’m pretty sure you guys can be selective about when you clear the history. Can you please fix?

Hey guys! I’m a songwriter and I use this app as my source of my songs! I love the sounds the instruments, and the beats as well! I can tell you guys put a lot of effort into this app. I do have some suggestions, and maybe they could benefit you guys in the making😄 You guys should add more classical sounding instruments, like ukuleles, mandolins, classical drums that sound like thunder(and could be used as a riser), and other instruments from around the world! These instrument suggestions I’m making I don’t mean to make into an Apple loop, but instead make it so that we could play it and figure out our own tunes😊 You guys should also add more electronic bases, like the ones in some of the Apple loops and other artists songs! I think it would sound very cool to add this to the bass selection under alchemy synth. You guys could also make more dubstep sounding keyboards as well!😄 Those are my suggestions for now before I think up new ideas that might help you guys! Great app, and keep going!👍😄👍

Nothing is like GarageBand™️, it feels like publishing a new hit song. I started using GarageBand™️ as a hobby, but it is now more to me then just a simple hobby, nothing will be better then this.

When I go into a song on my iPhone 8, play it all the way through to the end, and go back to “My Songs” I am rendered unable to access any other song other than the one I just played through to the end. When I reset the app the bug continues, only this time I can’t access any of my music on my iPhone 8. After multiple resets on the app I’m still having the same issue. I reset my iPhone 8 and that only resolves the bug temporarily before I repeat the above process of letting a song play through to the end…etc and so on. I hope this is helpful to you and your team in finding this bug. 👾 Now BLAST ‘EM! 👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾

The app is self is great you can make some great beats and develop the basics of music but recently it’s been telling me that I don’t have permission and I downloaded again to see if that would fix it but it didn’t and this hinders me from making beats from anything in the app

I really like this app. it’s super helpful. there’s no other free app that lets you play so many different instruments. my only problem is that it takes up SO MUCH SPACE–kinda unnecessary.

i NEVER write reviews. this is the first review i’m ever writing. ever. just so you know how big this is. i am shocked at how intuitive this app is. how many features, how much is included.. for FREE. in SECONDS i was making fire beats. SECONDS. so much is included and i’m overwhelmed now, but i know that means a lot of 🔥 is in my future. i highly recommend this app. s/o to Apple for this gem. this doesn’t cost a penny, but is worth at least $50. amazing.

I love GarageBand, it is absolutely my first go to DAW besides ProTools. My only issue is compatibility with other DAW’s, i.e. FL Studio. If I want to collab with another producer and he uses FL, I can’t take the loops he sends me and actually time stretch it. This will cause the beat to sound a tad bit eerie, and not so good. Also, allowing iPhone 5 users to get alchemy would be great! At times I like to make beats on my 5, simply because that’s where I started and I always want to stay in touch with where I’ve come from. Another thing that would be great to have on GarageBand is a midi track. We should be able to take the apple loops and put them into a midi track, and rearrange them however we’d like. If I import a loop I’m not able to time stretch it and have it be on time with the session. This would be a great feature, time stretching! Overall the app is just splendid and a lot of people sleep on you guys! Peace

I love this because you can make funny stuff but u can also make amazing stuff like my friend made the best music EVER!!!! I hope you read this because I just want to say that you should keep up the amazing work that you do (and did) so PLEASE! keep making more games like this or even BETTER!

The app no longer works at all no matter what your trying to do.. it sends a error that reads... “ The operation couldn’t be completed.(com.apple.DocumentManager error 1.)”.... And that’s it! Nothing will open within the app! This was the app to go to for anything todo with sound! Please fix it!

I really love this app right here! I really need some more orchestral/marching band type instruments (trumpet, sax, etc.) Other than that, it’s great.

It was fun at first but then I realized that I couldn’t delete it!The app icon wasn’t even showing up on my screen!I don’t know if it my phone or the app but that has never happened before to me!

Honestly i really enjoy this app actually I’ve been using it since 2015 making music but this year i noticed that when I’m recording audio the monitor seems to have a latency by the way I turned off the delay effect so that can’t be it but it just throws me off rhythm and makes me not want to even use the app anymore please apple can you fix the latency in the monitor. I deleted everything and it still doesn’t work

This app is really fun. It helps me write the songs I’ve been keeping in my head. The only problem is that there is a bug that it doesn’t play the first note of a guitar riff while making a song.

There is no longer an adjustment slider on the “in” on the mic. I love this app but, I can no longer keep the vocals from peaking with out it.

Terrific app that would be the ultimate music app for iPad if it had a Master Track where all the individual tracks could be tweaked with in real time as the mastered version is being recorded. That’s a biggie and perhaps it can’t be incorporated in GB’s iOS version due to lack of screen real estate. Maybe a major software architecture would be required to offer that. Also, a natively implemented MIDI Guitar feature would be great. There are some 3rd party options but I’m pretty sure Apple can do something better. My 2cents.

Every time I try hooking up an inter audio app to record that instead of the stock GB instruments the audio decides to just completely cut out. I can’t hear a single thing after about 10 seconds or so of recording. It records properly so that’s not as much of an issue, but it’s still a pain to be unable to monitor my recordings. It’s done it with all three of the apps I’ve tried it with and none of them are from the same manufacturer so I doubt it’s an issue with the apps. If this gets fixed I’ll bring my rating up but until then I’m not a fan.

This is kinda fun to play with at first then it’s just a pain. I think we should have the option to delete it like other purchased apps. I like to play music on real instruments. Please give me or everyone the option to delete.

My hearing aid provider wanted me to pay an exorbitant amount to insure and replace my hearing aids. Luckily, all I have to do is plug my earbuds into my iPhone, open GarageBand, activate a live mic and adjust it to my satisfaction, and viola! I have a built in alternative to hearing aids that's covered under AppleCare. I'm glad that GarageBand came free with my iPhone and I send thoughts and prayers to the nation when the day comes that someone decides To put this very useful, life-saving functionality behind a paywall or remove it altogether.

I could play this for hours I love changing how my voice sounds

This app requires swipe techniqus that I cannot do as a blind person. It would be niee to have an option to use external keyboards and braille displays to use the app.

THIS IS TOTAL CRAP! I had GarageBand for iOS 10 but I had to delete it. Now I go to download a version compatible with my iPad and the App Store says "nope! It isn't compatible with your iPad". WHAT A SCREW JOB. Maybe we should sic those ANTIFA buffoons on the bag of hammers that runs Apple these days. I have multiple Macs, bought multiple iPads and even more iPhones. I'm really thinking it is time to end this relationship because for this s******* I didn't even get a kiss! I ACTUALLY BOUGHT GARAGEBAND BACK WHEN IT APPEARED FOR $5 BECAUSE IT DID NOT COME WITH THE IOS DEVICE I HAD AT THE TIME. NOTICE SERVED: FIX THIS OR GIVE ME BACK MY $5 YOU THIEVES. I would give this review negative stars but, yet again, Apple won't let me give less than one. So you get one star but deserve -1000.

I was logged into my iCloud and I’ve been working on this song for over a month now. I had to log out of my iCloud on my iPad and now all my songs are missing off my GarageBand app. Why was there no type of warning for this to happen??? Please tell me I can get my song back.

Ok so I used to import audio files of beats I’d use to record my voice over on garageband, for my music and stuff, nowadays it’s like every audio clip I use it doesn’t work i wonder why? If u could just fix this issue then everything will be 5 stars

It was all good until they stopped allowing third party storage now you can’t upload any instrumentals to it. Unless there’s another way but I mainly used DropBox.

I’m trying to use the djay pro app as an inter app audio extension but when I open the djay app both GarageBand and djay crashes every time, please fix. Other than that I love GarageBand

The sampler tool could use some work, and I think the ability to use ghost notes, like in FL Studio would make the process of making melodies a lot more convenient. Otherwise GarageBand is a great way to produce good music on a tight budget.

This app is brilliant. It allows people with absolutely no music experience to start making music. It’s not like those apps that give you a bunch of premise choices of tracks to slice together either. (Although they have some of that too.) I am not a musician so I’m not talking in musician terms by the way. Note to developers: This app could really use a search box in the keyboard section. I can’t tell you how many times for instance I can’t find “Hollywood Strings” while using the keyboard. There are soooo many choices it’s hard to navigate. Also I would love to see more added in the way of a horn section. 😁👍

Generally I liked the app but I updated the latest version and all my files were deleted and now I cannot get them back.

Instead of creating new sounds you show create more of the classic ones that you missed like the harp , saxophone, and the whole string family (SEPARATE). 😁

So I’ve been using this app for a while now and it feels like I’m being limited ;for example You can’t do all the app says it can. It promises great music but hardly ever updates with new sounds. There’s always a bug in the app that doesn’t let me record fx or more sounds because the app closes on me and forces me to start over or it doesn’t record the fx at all. Basically my point is that I would like it if the app would constantly update itself with new sounds and give you more opportunities along with a bunch of other fixes that will let you record fx and not bug out with no sound from time to time.

I’m having a bad time putting a shower my clip in the sampler piano. I’m trying to change the pitch of the song and slow it down so I put it in the sampler piano and played the clip in a lower key. When I exited the song project and went back in I played it and instead of the clip I put in the sampler piano I got a low droning noise and it won’t stop. I would appreciate if you could look into this and try to fix it or something. I love using GarageBand and making songs with it but this is really turning me off of it.

I was just using GarageBand as usual, and then when I got back, all my projects were randomly deleted, I’m so sad about it 😞

I’m getting tired of always being inspired to make awesome trap beats, and going on to garage band, just for my mood and inspiration to be broken. It’s time to realize that a lot of people and especially music producers like me, like trap! We like to listen to it and we like to make it. We use flstudio because that’s a great resource to make trap beats. But we can’t always use it. I can’t always use it. I wanna use garage band because I’ve heard that it’s the best music making app on mobile. But every time I get on the app, my mood and inspiration gets broken because there’s nothing on garage band to make a trap beat. Really the only kind of music I or anyone could make on there is classic rock, techno music, or dubstep. Now I’ve seen that you guys recently put some trap sounding stuff on the app, but they’re honestly not that good. They sound way too classic and upbeat and corny. Go on Instagram and follow flstudio, follow flgang, listen to the kind of music producers are making these days. I would love to see garage band become a great mobile music maker down the road, but we need trap stuff on there. Thanks 🙏🏻

Genuinely love this app and how easy it is to use. However, I come across this same problem with it constantly. I use this app on my phone and, for days on end, it will just refuse to open. I’ll tap the app, which will lead me to a gray screen that ultimately turns black and then takes me back to my home page. Not sure what’s going on, but I haven’t been able to open it for a week now. Pleaaaaaaaaaae fix this somehow, I miss it lol :(

Installed to see what it is but I could not figure how to exit the app. I am sure this is a good program and does something but I am not an expert on iPhone X and was unable to terminate or quit the program and had to power off to close it. Most programs missing an “X” in the dialog box claim I have a virus and must click on “OK” to remove the virus. I did not see a message like that so I assume this is a legit program and the developer simply forgot the “X”

I really love this app it’s probably the best music production app for the iPhone right now. My only complaint is that, after the latest update, I cannot upload mp3/audio files from my google drive anymore. Maybe there’s a newer way for me to do it, but I wish it hadn’t changed because the old way was much better!

The Japanese one is beautiful, idk if I’m just Asian or the quality is really good. I like the Chinese one too. Great you don’t have to download it. As a lover of music, I highly recommend this game, but if you hate playing mobile games from iTunes, then just play a real instrument. I hope they update it so the violins don’t sound the same. Regular violins have different pitches, they just all sound the same in the game. Also, the Chinese live loops still sound upbeat and not modern or traditional at all. Guys, you know you can change it to 6/8. I usually use 4/4 template. I know some of you experience freezing too. I’m on iPhone, so you may or may not experience these things, but please apple, STOP MAKING THESE APPS FREEZE OR CRASH.

This app is the most useful and most effective way of creating and translating music. Period, if you don’t see or hear the sound you want it’s either because you haven’t gone through all the sounds/instruments or you cant create the sound on your own without a program to do it for you, this app is in no way confined, if you cant do something specific itsnot the app.

I’ve been using this app for 4 years and I’ve been to at a point I’ve used up all the sounds and all of them sound the same but if someone is using an iPhone 6 I see alchemy synth and I was surprised as if you guys don’t support iPad Pro 2 I have 124 gb of storage so that won’t be a problem, please allow us to at least download it than not allow it otherwise that thank you for your wonderful app.

It won’t download, it just says loading... on it and it just stays the same! I wanted to get some free ringtones on my device and they said to use GarageBand so I did and it won’t download...... It worked on my other account (which is my old one that I don’t use anymore) so what can I do now.....? This App is the best app for me personally. It gives me room to exercise and expand my skill in notes, helps me fine tune my ear and allows me to create some great sounds. This app is also a little simpler than some other programs too. Looping is much easier, editing is easier to access, and I’ve also been able to increase my skill on manual animation. Now I’ve seriously been craving an installment that is included in the others category of the sound selection and that will be the Saxophone! Please add this one instrument! Lol thanks for the App.

So, all of the worse reviews are 100% because the users didn’t try hard enough or put in enough time on this app, because I’m not saying it easy for a beginner to use all of the complex features on this app. People who complained that they got discouraged when they couldn’t figure out the app, just keep trying, because there is honestly NOTHING YOU CAN’T DO with this amazing app. One motive for this review is that I felt bad for GarageBand getting beat down by all the bad reviews of people saying that it was bad because it was too hard or they just hadn’t figured it out yet. (no offense to those people) GarageBand is truly one of if not the best mobile music maker apps out there, you just have to put in the actual time and effort to unlock a world of musical possibilities. My only problem, and this started happening very very recently, is that now my device crashes whenever I try to open it up, but its no big deal because I’m sure that it’s just a problem with my device, and if not, it will be fixed soon. 😄😄

Hey apple I make pretty good music and I love the app. but I have one problem you need to add more drums good high quality like the kick I can find about 2 kicks that I use and one of them is the one in the loop section. But please add more snaps theirs only about 3 snaps that I use and you need to add more snaps and also add SIDE CHAIN!!! Please and add PAN FLUTE!!! and please add GLIDES and theirs only 2 synth that has glide and side chain And also add really good sounding guitars. Also add more soft keys Ik theirs faded keys but we need more than that oh and I can’t sing so I tried to get an acpella (I can’t spell it but you know what I mean) so what I did was recorded a acpella then when I was done it sounded like TRASH DUDE I tried to fixed it but nothing was working so I just left and now I make instrumental music but please add more sounds. I hope you see this but if you do I’d be really happy if you add a tropical house kit I’d probably use that all the time.

Fix this issue!! Originally when you were able to make custom instruments you were able to further edit them into how you wanted. Now there is no longer an option to edit the sound of the custom instruments. This originally wasn't the case. Why is it now that this is an issue? Fix it, it was much better before this.

GarageBand no longer recognizes my audio interface after the iOS update. I toggled the new usb function in the setting and still nothing. Anybody else?

I love using this application for my music and for future music. What i suggest is more apple loops, and more instruments to play on like a saxophone, or more bass guitars. Also for vocals, you should add more effects on the robot, like pitch equality, so that way a robot voice can be regular voice with robot vocal, ya know? Anyways, loving it anyways, from Soto :)

Unfortunately like almost all things Apple, anything you do can be erased for no reason and sent into oblivion. The applications appear solid but the depth and structuring to an actual art form lacks in the ability to move away from being another GB clone. This is a great tool to set ideas down but lacks allowing the user/composer complete control in originality.

There’s a bug that’s really annoying. When I change the pitch and speed together, the app crashes and I lose everything I did during that session.

Can we get more stuff to help us with vocals and more instrumentals so we can make more beats and be able to upload more than one file to SoundCloud so we can make albums and eps etc,also add more to gutairs

If you think using this app gives you the ability to write music you’re kidding yourself. It’s nothing more than plug-ins sounds you string together to make c***** sounding video game music. Nothing an actual musician with use more of a kids toy.

So in general I love garage band. I don’t have any problem with the music. But a week ago I was recording a song and the instrument got renamed to “Nice Room” I was in my room. I didn’t even know that you could change the name of the track.

I love this app , but ,like other apps it needs some things. I like to make beats on Garage band and have been for a while now, You should add a feature where your imported files can be in folders. i.e: Percussion’s, Kicks, and etc. We should be able to organize our imported files to make it efficient and easier. I made 2 songs so far and now every time I try to do anything it says “The file couldn’t be saved because you don’t have permission” all I wanna do is make another song and all of the sudden I can’t! If someone knows how to fix this please tell me thank you!

Edit 4: I have written many edits to my review in the past months. I just installed the new update and am looking forward to trying it out. I see that you guys haven’t put any new instruments or sound packs out. But, for the next update, could you all PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make it an option for users to choose among 4 piece, 5 piece, 6 piece, 7 and 8 piece drumkits? The new sounds were great when you guys first put them out, but they are getting a bit old now, and I think having these options would help when searching for a drum sound that you want for your track. Same with the guitars. How bout 8 string guitars and more guitar sounds? Maybe the ability to downtune the guitars and basses? What about 5 or 6 string basses? Of course, you can use the keyboard to compose guitar and bass and string tracks, but how bout adding these features to the smart guitar also? If you do end up doing a drumkit update in the future, how bout putting the kits into genre categories, such as rock, funk, jazz and metal. This would give users a much faster time selecting drums rather than having to scroll. And also, for the pieces of the drums, (4, 5, 6, 7 ECT.,) Make them into categories as well to make them easy to find. These are of course just suggestions for future updates, and are based solely of of my opinion. I’m not even sure if you all read these, but thanks for your time anyway, Apple. I cannot stress my comments about more drums and cymbals enough. I’m sure other musicians and composers like myself would like to see more of this, too. PS. I don’t know how this whole update thing works on your end, but if you can, can you update more frequently, please? I understand if you all can’t. Some instruments don’t have the right sounds that I need

Whenever GarageBand wants to optimize my performance, one of the tracks loses its sound and I’m not sure how to fix that problem— I checked the track settings to make sure it wasn’t muted and tried recording more sounds onto the track, but it wouldn’t work.

It’s annoying that the key is not long enough, and I hate to use the double deck!

Ok. So I love this app, even if I never make anything that good on it. My friends and I love to mess around with the feature where we can record custom instrument noises, and make lots of s***** noises. I assumed they’d be usable on different songs when I deleted the unnamed song containing them. I realized my mistake, as they were gone when I opened a different song. I looked to see if I could recover them, but alas. There wasn’t anything that would obviously bring them back. I would re-record them, but most were with my friends, and I forgot most of them. So that’s kinda sad, but that’s my fault. I should’ve checked. Other than that, great app. Just wish I had the dedication to put my good ideas into a song- they never turn out as I want though, and I end up giving up. I guess music-making just isn’t my thing :/

There isn't a better DAW on mobile devices. I use this to write basic songs and then transfer them to Logic. I just wish there was an option for custom time signatures (like in Logic) and the option to have sheet music like the score function on the desktop version Edit: I would LOVE to see a sax instrument to the keyboard sound library.

So GarageBand is a good app, only thing is, whenever you go into the FX panel and use the filter tool for a specific amount of time, the stopper effect is in effect for a second or longer. I would appreciate if you fixed this small bug, as it sometimes gets into my project. Thanks!

Honestly this is a great app, the only thing I would want added is an option to change the guitar tuning from just standard tuning.

All the sounds are really the same and aren’t really that diverse and we don’t even have bass not even a sub, we need more sounds to work with most of them sound like old arcade games. I mean I’m able to tune some keyboards to get the sound I want but it becomes difficult when I wanna get started on something and I gotta spend most my time trying to get the sound I want then after all that time I already lost what I heard in my head, it just really hard be able to put out what I want when I’m very limited, don’t get me wrong I enjoy the app a lot I really like it, but the limitations become a hassle.

I absolutely loooveee garageband it’s a really great way to make music if ur cheap and don’t have a fancy recording studio because basically this is all u need. My only complaints are at first it’s kinda confusing, but my main problem which is absolutely the worst is that it takes up a CRAZY amount of storage, especially because i deleted almost every app i have and still couldn’t get it until now because it just takes up so much space. Otherwise, i highly recommend this app.

Ever since this 11.4.1 update and the latest GB update EVERYTHING has become useless! I’m extremely broken hearted and everything crashes or fails to load. I can’t record from my external programs and I lose tracks and all the work I’ve put into them when GarageBand constantly locks up or freezes or crashes! And this happens nearly every time I try to use GarageBand! I have a IPad Air 2 128 gig so it’s not completely old technology! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP HELP HELP HELP ME! So I’ve been using garage band for about 4 years now and it’s become sophisticated enough to make studio quality sounds but I have one request and that is to somehow implement a way to compact or stretch audio files that have been imported or even recorded to slow down or speed up tempo of that file separately from the tempo of the song, even an option for raising or lowering pitch separately at the same time as making it faster or slower, just so I can perfectly match a sample and edit pitch without changing the tempo or so I don’t have to use third party apps and import two separate files one being faster or slower. It would help a lot and it would make sampling much more easier. Another idea I have is somehow give us the option to edit the FX because when I make music I want to be able to edit out my mistakes instead of re-recording over and over again. This would all help so much for amateur producers like myself and I hope you read and I hope you agree and I hope you make this already great app better.

If you play guitar and don’t have the money to buy effects than download this free app and even record music 10/10

I love this app as it’s one of the only things I use on my Phone but as a beginner music creator, I have some complaints about various things. First off, notes snapping to the grid when you want to record certain rhythms and beats. For example, if you want to make triplets or a shuffle beat, it changes it to a straight beat, and as a beginner, I don’t know the exact placing of a triplet and while I can create a shuffle beat by editing the track, it’s super discouraging to do so because there’s no real reason to have it as a forced option. Second thing, sounds like the Violin, French Horn, and Brass Section are terribly delayed to the full attack of the sound. So if you put a note on beat 1, the full attack of the sound is an eighth of a beat later, so in order to counter that, you have to move the track over, and move notes accordingly (if it’s in the very beginning of the song). I’m also upset that this app doesn’t have sounds like a Saxophone for jazz solos and whatever else or Marching Percussion instruments (Snare, Bass Drums, and Quads/Quints) to either create a matching piece or for a stylistic piece that uses Marching Percussion instruments as well as maybe some synths. Maybe this app isn’t amazing so you upgrade to Logic Pro on a Mac and maybe all of these problems have been solved there, but for 5$, this app is great. I would expect GarageBand to fix that first issue though.

This app is honestly awesome and can be taken to a professional level. The only thing is that it doesn’t have as many sounds for common Music. It can make dubstep and rap but that’s about it and also some rock. There is not really any kind of sub bass. The only one that is is the last one at the bottom of Synth Bass. But it still is an amazing app and for it just to be on your phone is amazing!

I love this app. I make beats for my friends that make music. However, a lot of the sounds are very repetitive, there aren’t a lot of sounds to choose from since the majority of the sounds sound alike, i would love more sounds added, like how GarageBand is on a desktop. Thank you

🚚I moved far away from my friends across the country, and just discovered jam 🎧session feature, but never got to use it with them because it is a wifi only feature, So I was wondering🤔 if you could add the ability to use the share📱 button for song protects to other contacts to join on iOS on different Wi-Fi's or connections. This is a great app, I use it almost everyday. However, it needs more loops. Maybe add some of the loops featured on the MacBooks version? MacBook GarageBand has some of the best loops ever, and I would love it if some of them were on iPad.

Love this app it allows me to record in my suv which provides a sound proof vocal booth! Almost sounds better than a studio with multiple vocals tracks & etc love it!!!

App won’t open. Have had this problem for a good 2 months now. Thought this update was it cause it has bug improvements. But you can’t even open the app and I have unfinished music I’m trying to release. Please fix quick. iPad mini 1st gen.

I have been using this app since I got my first iPod Touch years ago. I mostly use it for vocal recordings. The only thing I wish would change the most right now is the ability to use headphones to monitor the sound while recording but use the built in mic on the iPhone. Because the EarPods have a built in mic on them it automatically uses that mic and not the higher quality mic. I hope this changes soon!

I got this app purely to change my ringtone.

One con. That’s all. I have used garbage band forever and love it. But it has one flaw... Originality. If there were ways to make your own instruments, add a synthesizer ( that would be amazing ) but all my songs sound similar. After awhile it sounds like the same sounds because of the drums and listening to your own songs that all have the same drums and synths is not easy. I don’t really feel like I’m making songs I feel that someone made all the of it for me! I don’t dislike the app. It would be the best app on iTunes if they added a synthesizer that you can REALLY change the sounds of.

I have an iPhone 5C. I used to be able to use this app with ease. Now I cannot add instruments or even hear the metronome. Maybe I'm too poor to even be granted a reply being that the model of my phone is seasons and seasons old lol

This app is great for creating music if you’re a beginner. I’ve been using it for years and used to think that the possibilities were endless. However, now that I’ve learned a little more about making music, I can see that there are a lot of limitations that hold back my true potential for creating professional music using this DAW. One of the major and most simple of these things is: The master volume level. It helps that the colors indicate whether you’re clipping or not but I’d really love to see the exact decibels that I’m at and I’d love to set the master volume level manually. Another thing is being able to import midi files into GarageBand. It’s just not supported and it would help so much if I could transport midi into GarageBand. And lastly is the loops in the library. They’re great loops, but it would be nice if they were updated with new sounds more frequently. I would pay to have new sound packs if that’s what it would talk to have it implemented. GarageBand for iPad has potential, but right now, it’s just holding me back

The new garageband is completely horrible, when I first got the app back in 2013, everything was fine, everything was simple, loops were easy to put together, now everything is completely different and impossible to understand, it shouldn’t feel like rocket science to get two tracks to play at the same time

The update eliminated my ability to plug in an actual guitar, forcing me to use the s***** “touch” guitar. The app went from awesome to worthless overnight.

I have had GarageBand before, downloaded on my phone. But it was ridiculous how much I had to delete just to have enough storage for it. If there was a way you guys could update it so it didn't take up as much storage, that'd be wonderful. ❤ Otherwise, amazing app. You can create amazing things with this.

I tought apple as a g** among man being an ex samsung user but this is garbage. I have to be connected to a network to re-download an original app?? Please tell me why I have to have a wi-fi network to download an original app. Please. This is such bs and you have an extremely angry customer on your hands.

Edit: thanks for addressing my previous comments. It goes to show that you guys at Apple really care about your customers feedback. I have a couple suggestions though. I would really like to have some more guitar sounds. Sure, there is plenty you can do to alter an existing sound, but sometimes I’m looking for a bit more. I do like the way that you have added guitar sounds to the keyboard feature, and the transposing feature is great. Maybe a classical guitar sound, or an acoustic-electric hybrid. I would also love to have WAY more drum sounds. At the very least, have more ways to tweak the sounds. The existing kits are great, but maybe a different, more updated studio kit, and some more kits in the metal/hard rock genre. Also a China and a second crash might be something you want to add in the future. Just having those two extra sounds can really help I think. Also, for the electric drums, could you please make a lefty switch mode? I have noticed since your last update that you have changed where the pads are. The acoustic drums are placed fine, but it would help me if you made a switch feature for all those lefties out there. Thank you guys very much. Edit 2: This app is great. However, can you guys make all the drums you have for the Apple loops (not live) possible to play? They all sound amazing, and a little more versatility in the sounds of the kits would be awesome! Also, adding more bass guitar sounds would be awesome! The only new one you guys have added to that lineup is the p-bass, which I love, but I am constantly using this app to make and produce my own music and I think that other people like myself would like more sounds, too. Something to think about in the future! Thanks for your time. Edit 3: I really like the recent update. Something different to change it up a bit. I really would like 1 thing in particular, though, and that is more drums and cymbals for the drumkits! I am an AVID drummer, and I use this app nearly everyday. There needs to be more variety in the acoustic kits. You’ve done it with the electronic kits, so why not with acoustic? I know a lot of people are extremely biased toward electronic music and that’s great, but there are certainly other people like myself who love rock and metal as opposed to that. I love the new flex and flow drumkits in the electronic section! I don’t hate electronic music, but it seems as though you guys are a bit biased toward it, as well as other people. But, I certainly cannot say a single thing that is over the top “Bad!” I just think that you all should take the other side into account. Thank you. Edit 4: I have written many edits to my review in the past months. I just installed the new update and am looking forward to trying it out. I see that you guys haven’t put any new instruments or sound packs out. But, for the next update, could you all PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make it an option for users to choose among 4 piece, 5 piece, 6 piece, 7 and 8 piece drumkits? The new sounds were great when you guys first put them out, but they are getting a bit old now, and I think having these options would help when searching for a drum sound that you want for your track. Same with the guitars. How bout 8 string guitars and more guitar sounds? Maybe the ability to downtune the guitars and basses? What about 5 or 6 string basses? Of course, you can use the keyboard to compose guitar and bass and string tracks, but how bout adding these features to the smart guitar also? If you do end up doing a drumkit update in the future, how bout putting the kits into genre categories, such as rock, funk, jazz and metal. This would give users a much faster time selecting drums rather than having to scroll. And also, for the pieces of the drums, (4, 5, 6, 7 ECT.,) Make them into categories as well to make them easy to find. These are of course just suggestions for future updates, and are based solely of of my opinion. I’m not even sure if you all read these, but thanks for your time anyway, Apple. I cannot stress my comments about more drums and cymbals enough. I’m sure other musicians and composers like myself would like to see more of this, too. PS. I don’t know how this whole update thing works on your end, but if you can, can you update more frequently, please? I understand if you all can’t. This app rocks! (Pun intended) I love this app very much, especially with all the new updates. Two questions though, what is SchoolWork? I was reading the new update details, and the first new thing is adaptation to an app called SchoolWork. And two, how do I upload my music to the iTunes Store? I’ve wanted to do this for a long time and I couldn’t find an easy way to do it. Thanks!

Garage Band is so fantastic, but I want more instruments!

This is compatible with a lot of apps, for example, I like to use iMPC pro 2 to sample and buy drum kits that are more modern then what available on GB. This app gives you some incredible freedom, you can midi a keyboard and upload samples and sounds from other compatible apps and GB acts as the Master. In my opinion good keyboards and software are only as good as th3 person behind them, if your any good at making music then it should be fairly easy for to create on GB..

The reason why I cannot figure out how to bring back the classic piano back it is stuck on documents and I cannot delete it and bring it back to instruments. I see no instructions. And if there is one so comlacated I do not understand what you are talking about it’s like a foreign language to me

I’m not liking the new update I have only had to do two updates before this one, and both of them were so very very successful but this one is not fully accessible with VoiceOver and i’m totally blind and I wish that I didn’t download the new update. It just doesn’t seem to work.

I’ve been producing trap instruments on GB for about 2 years now. The only things i dislike about Garageband are the one option of automation, the small library of effect plugins, and not being able to have the glide effect on melodies and 808/sub bass imported in from downloaded drum kits.

I love this app but you guys need to add more sounds like more flutes,keys,etc.. I am good on drum kits but add more sounds so I won’t have to use loops and better sounds =more confidence in producing for me and the better not be imamusic mogul trash sounds

It’s easy to use but half the time I cannot play because the instruments won’t show up. 2 stars is pretty extreme, but if the main purpose of the app doesn’t work half the time, I’m not leaving a good review.

Idk why people are complaining listen this is the greatest app on the IPhone point blank period if you having problem with the sounds they offer import your own snares loops etc. there is no reason you can make any type of beats or music with this mobile app there is nothing better this app is the real deal Holyfield!!!!

I’ve been expecting new instruments for a long time and the app gets boring when we don’t get any NEW INSTRUMENTS and the update that was made 3 weeks ago is useless I expected more from the people who make iPhones and Macs I am disappointed

What is the purpose of “optimizing performance” it’s very annoying. Please find a way to take it out.

For some time now, every time I try to open one of my songs, it won’t load! I can get into the app, but I can’t play my songs. I don’t want to lose them or never be able to listen to them again. I need help. I love GarageBand but I just wish I could listen to my songs again... :(

I wrote and my boy (well used to be) produced my first mixtape (without cassette tapes lol) on his iPad and it was awesome. My boy gave me his iPhone 6 & first thing I did was DL GarageBand for free (while my boy said at the time in 2012 it was $20) best I ever used. FL to me which I had was so hard the used. In under two weeks I recorded 6 songs and loving every min of it. No complaints when it’s free and better than FL IMO

I’ve truly enjoyed and still enjoy the GB app, but just a few things I would love to see added in the next update(s) — the option to send full project files to the GB desktop application. I’m not sure if the recent update allows us to do that now, but I’ve tried and when I go to open on desktop version, it says the iOS version is too advanced so it won’t allow it. ALSO, the mobile GB version should have an 808 bass option for those wanting to create hip hop/rap tracks; and being able to loop a measure(s) when editing instead of having to play the entire song over. Other than that, I love GarageBand! Both the mobile and desktop version. Thank you. I look forward to these new updates!

The only complaint I have is that it keeps crashing.

I have SOOO many songs on my GarageBand that I did. SO many good projects I did. And now, I can’t open the app! I think it’s because of the STUPID OPTIMIZATION THEY DO! Sometimes every now and then when I play one of my songs, when I click the play button, it optimizes the song. It does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! In fact, some times it RUINS MY SONG! I can’t do ANYTHING ABOUT IT! Today it started optimizing one of my songs, and when I tried to open the app again, it didn’t let me! Please Apple, GET RID OF OPTIMIZATION, AND FIX THIS ISSUE.

This is as powerful and even more stable than some 7 figure recording studios I have recorded in. The fact that it’s free to people with an apple device is a lot more generous than they get credit for. So, thank you! This software has literally changed my life.

I’ve been using the app for about 6 months now and and I’ve come up with some extremely decent music so far, Lamar Azul on SoundCloud ;). And this app has definitely peeked and influenced my interest in music much more than it has been in the past with it being free to use. But sadly I’d have to say that I’ve exhausted everything I possibly can (for the type of music I’m going for) in this app and it is some what frustrating. The FX feature just kind of aggravates me more than anything now that the fact it only effects the entire song, and that you don’t have any separate FX for separate tracks. You definitely have to dig deep in this app to really bring out its potential, but when you do you’re left a little disappointed. Can’t wait to get my laptop and actual software and further my musical career, but thank your Garbageband for helping me start it! Lamar Azul

I love this app. It’s great for making music. The only thing I wish was on here is more Loops. Especially for Modern R&B music or just R&B music in general. More piano melodies and more beats. I also wish there were a 90s type vibe on here, like G-Funk style. Take Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, 2Pac and other westcoast artists for example. Just a suggestion that I hope you all take into consideration for the next update🤗

Great app I would however like more sounds especially vocal effects I would like audio effects like vocoders and the like.

Once I updated my phone to the latest update I found out that GarageBand can now show you the notes on the keyboards But after I updated it and updated the app it didn’t show any notes Or signs of an update Any help would be great

This should not be a mandatory icon on a phone. Especially when you do not have any children.

This app is awesome its one of the best and everyone knows it, please make it better by adding a smart horn section tab like you have for strings, piano, bass/guitar, and world sounds. Brass and woodwinds for jazz, funk, soul, and pop applications please would be amazing. Also with the new pearl mallet station out adding a vibraphone, marimba, and a tuned percussion pack would be awesome as well, give us percussionists some love. Thank you!

I want to record tracks that I can send to a few of my friends with whom I collaborate. It would be amazing if I had the ability to send my track in whatever file type I wanted. My collaborators use FL-Studio, ProTools, etc., and they cannot use my tracks. Why is this so difficult? I get Apple’s exclusively. But if they’re going to put so much into a Digital Audio Workstation, why not make it something that can be used all over, with all top tier DAWS? If Apple intends for GarageBand to be a toy, I guess they’ve succeeded. The thing is, however, over time Apple has incorporated tools to make GB more professional, which makes no sense unless they give it the ability to play well with others. Maybe playing well with others is too high a bar? I’d settle for playing with others in any capacity. So with each upgrade, I reluctantly anticipate GarageBand’s entry into the personal music file sharing world...still waiting.

Everytime I go on to the app the last song I created will load up automaticity and when I try to exit to another song and the app will close. Please fix once’s fixed I’d give a 5star rating i really loved the flex and flow download!

A drum pad sampler would be helpful in the process of making your own drum kits. Tuning change menu on the guitar instrument would be much help. That’s it for me, but if anyone takes these ideas into consideration it would be much appreciated.

If I press multiple keys on the keyboard, it starts glitching so when I press keys for more than a second, it’ll either stop or go to another key I didn’t press.

i love everything about the app but when i plug my guitar into it and try to solo over what i have played i can’t hear it so i’m always off time. i’ve tried headphones through bluetooth and a speaker i can never hear what i’m playing over so it’s very difficult to do it in time. i hope this is fixed.

got a new 8 plus days ago, downloaded gband, and plus sign does not open a new song; it does nothing. no songs saved. turned off icloud, still nothing

After I updated to 11.4.1 the app would just be a gray screen and then it somehow blocked my screen from turning on and I had to use Siri to call people

Could be a really great tool; if it were easier to use it could be the most valuable tool around - but it is extremely user unfriendly and more frustrating than useful. The piano needs to be louder than the back tracks, so a person can hear them self over the rest of the music. How can a person learn to play over a track when they can’t hear the keyboard? I’d like to use it, but it seems you need a class on the functions or you’ll get stuck somewhere and delete stuff you don’t mean to delete. Cool and completely lame at the same time.

I love using GarageBand. But why when I am using the drums and I’m making my own beat with them, they go into a different beat that I didn’t want? Can you please fix this? Because it’s very annoying and I love playing the drums and making my own songs

This app needs to sound real

I truly love GarageBand. It’s my favorite app. But I am currently having these issues. Whenever I try to record, the app won’t sense that I’ve recorded. The track remains empty. There’s also a problem with the measure numbers. When it reaches 11 it will repeat the number 11 for a while then it will repeat the number 12 for the rest of the measures. No matter how many that I make. I hope that this problem will be fixed soon. I was in the middle of creating a beautiful song. Thank you for reading.

Please make all of the brass instruments and woodwind instruments so this app will contain every instrument! Apple, please listen to me.

This isn’t phenomenal app, where I’ve made a variety of music, from slow acoustic to pumping dubstep. I only have a few complaints though. 1. Guitars. There’s only 4 guitars accessible to make your own melodies, and after a while they get pretty lame. Maybe put in a ukulele and some other heavy metal guitars. 2. Classical music. I know there’s brass, French horns and strings, but it would be kind of nice if there were live loops of those two. Also, there’s no timpani or drums like that, so that’d be nice as well. 3. Live loops. It’s really hard to scroll on live loops without accidentally pressing a track. If there were just a little space above or below the numbers to scroll, that’d help. That’s all I really have to say for flaws, but other than that, this is a great app for songwriters to DJs. Keep up the awesome work!

I have been using garageband for nearly 2 years. I love this app but it needs one thing. I feel that if you could drag audio files from videos on your song on the app then, that would just take this app to the next level. Once again, I love this app but, I just hope they could add that one thing in the near future

GarageBand is a pretty good app to have. I love producing beats and GarageBand allows me to do this anywhere. But I would love to see these 3 features added in the very near future please : 1. A MASTER TRACK where I could add effects over all tracks , adjust volume, etc. This would be a great help seeing that I can never seem to achieve a high volume on my overall track once I’m done. 2. MORE SOUND PACKS !! A lot more sound pack are needed on GarageBand. More HipHop & Trap would be great, but really more of everything. 3. Continue to improve smooth performance and optimization THANKS

I love the app it is great to make music and entertain people

I use the all regularly as I have in the past on iPad and Mac. It gets the job done. Sometimes I wish it had a wider range of sounds available but you get what you pay for. Make no mistake, I plug my guitar into an irig, into the iPhone and into this and record ideas all the time. I use this app almost daily. The only think I wish it had was more guitar sounds for better distortion. Heavier sounds are not commonplace. Most are moderate hard rock at the heaviest. Quality is good.

The Japanese one is beautiful, idk if I’m just Asian or the quality is really good. I like the Chinese one too. Great you don’t have to download it. As a lover of music, I highly recommend this game, but if you hate playing mobile games from iTunes, then just play a real instrument. I hope they update it so the violins don’t sound the same. Regular violins have different pitches, they just all sound the same in the game.

I’m just wondering if there’s any midi support yet or will there be any. Other than that, it’s pretty good.

This app is by far my favorite music app available, There are only a few things that would greatly improve this. The smart guitar needs more options, such as the ability to choose a 7 or 8 string guitar. The same with the smart bass. Many musicians now days are using extended range guitars and basses, it would be nice to see GarageBand catch up. I also would love to see more vocal synths in the Keyboard category that actually sound like a choir of voices and not a distortions of the same base sample. Other than that this app is awesome and I have loads of fun with it when I use it.

I have lots of fun playing the instruments in this app, but here are some suggestions- 1: There should be different tunings for the guitars. This would really only benefit the electric guitar, but a lot of metal uses lower tuning than standard tuning. 2: Better drum sounds. The drums really don’t sound that good. The snare should be louder, and the ride should be louder. But I think there should be a metal drum set that has two kick drums, two crash symbols, a ride symbol, and more. 3: Distorted bass. Some songs have distortion on the bass, and it would sound cool on here. 4: I don’t know if this is possible to fix, but real guitars have 22-24 frets, and the guitars in this app only have 10.

Anything more than 2 AUs and you’ve got a project that won’t mix down properly. Clicks - straight up haywire midi instruments, reverbs shutting off and on...

My child downloaded this game not knowing that it charged immediately. We cancelled the subscription but somehow it keeps charging my card for the game. I've been charged a total of three times for a game that we thought was free. Be careful with this app.

The app is great overall, but there is a rather annoying flaw. You can organize the songs based on “Name”, “Date”, or “Size”, but the Size function only seems to work for folders. For the actual files, the size function merely lists the songs by name. Since this app uses the most storage out of all the apps on my phone (around 20GB), I’d like if I could actually organize my files by size to see which ones are taking up the most space.

I still have an iPad 2 (old 4pin connector to charge) and I had the older version of GarageBand and would use it frequently for work (I'm a music therapist). I recently updated software and Unfortunately since I don't have a "new iPad" it will not let me download the app. I'm saving up for an iPad Pro but find it absolutely infuriating that I can not download a later version of garage band so I can continue to use the program for my job and making music with my clients.

This is such a good app to make music on but it’s so hard finding the right sound and when you make a mistake and want to reset the instruments setting for example the piano, there is no way to reset it!

I can only write this review based off of the one reason I downloaded this app. To make a ringtone for my iPhone. I’ve only used it for this purpose so I cannot speak of the other uses for it. But, it worked great for that purpose! I had been struggling to make a customized ringtone through iTunes and syncing from my computer to my phone so I gave up and heard about this method. I had to watch a YouTube video to get me started, but then was able to make a couple ringtones and export them to my phone!

How do i delete a. Song i put on itunes from garageband after you finish a song and share it i pressed itunes. Then song and i customized it but now i want to delete it and I cannot find that song i just sent to itunes. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

I want to thank Garage Band app developers for helping me get my rox off. The I pad version is way easier to use but the drummers are on the money. Kinda makes one wish for back up bassists if that’s at all possible, maybe rythm guitarists. Whatever, it’s the best app for me.

Please help!! I start a new song and select drums (or any other instrument) but nothing shows up!!! I just have the small bar at the top and that’s it. I even tried reinstalling and no dice! Please help!

This app takes up way to much space I had to delete five games to get this one and it said I need to clear out more to record myself other than that it is a decent game

The strings section is horrible. All the themes sound the same, like pop and romantic, there’s just a slight difference: how low and how high they are. Please make them different and add more instruments. The bass is another one that is ‘eh’. All of it sounds muted. This game is not great, but it is pretty good because you don’t have to download it and it’s free, so I guess you should play it?

Yes! Finally I found the perfect app. I’ve had this app for a long time. I never bothered to open it but one day a cousin was playing it and I took a look. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! It made no sense. I was about to give it a 1🌟rating. It made NO sense. So I tinkered around and LOVED it. So awesome. I can sing and background music. I can hear my own voice. This app is sweet. You can seriously go for hours without being bored. Before it looked naaa. Now it’s yaaa! Don’t worry you will love GarageBand FOREVER!!!!! GET THIS APP -you won’t regret it 💕

Any reason it keeps crashing and I can’t open it now? It’s updated and so is my phone.

I was experimenting on the new beat sequencer and seeing what all of the buttons did, after I pressed one it sent me the menu where you can select a track. I then selected the beat sequencer, thinking it would send me back to my song, but nope, it reset it. And because there isn’t any undo button, it’s permanently deleted. Thanks.

Only thing that limiting is the sub bass for Trap style songs I love everything else I’m not sure if a sax or trumpet are on here still new but those would some interesting instruments to try to figure out to make great sounding orchestration

I use this to record my marimba at home. It does everything I need it to for simple recordings. One thing I would like is if it offered for me to record video directly into the project instead of having to import it through a different program.

I used to love it but for some reason it stopped working I and I tried it multiple times now and it doesn’t even work that why I hate it.

Plz add more guitars I want this to be more fun

This is an app that you need. Me and my buds remade a bunch of our favorite songs with this. it’s hard to learn, but fun learning

I’d rather have improved midi capabilities allowing me to record midi notes from inter-apps and a freeze function with audio stretch like there is in Cubasis

I have failed to understand whether GarageBand updates always include the whole of its initial application database or only changes/adds data. Why would simple updates like stability improvements and bug fixes mount to 1.6GB?

I’ve been using GB on iOS for years for numerous theatrical & musical projects. The thing is, I’ve been really waiting for GB to update its catalogue with more orchestra sounds & instruments esp timpani. The piano sounds are so helpless that I needed to buy iGrandPiano for a more authentic piano sound, but it’s ok. The strings is nice as for music background but not to lead the melody as per individual instrument, that’s where I use SampleTank. I mean it’d be really nice if I can use GB for the whole music production.

This has to be the worst feature on this app. Not only does it waist my time and do something I don’t want it to do, but it also makes the recording sound worse by making it sound distorted. Just remove this feature all together it’s really horrible.

It’s GarageBand on your phone. I use it live, for elements on albums and commercials, songwriting, and so much more. Does it have every element of music and music production that every person would ever want? Of course not. Is it stable, comprehensive, constantly updating and improving, and is it GarageBand on your phone? Of course it is and it deserves your 5 star review. For instance, we would certainly love to have individual midi channel control for instruments - but again, it is what it is and it is a solid app.

So, In the past I have downloaded this app and deleted it several times, because this app takes a lot of patience! But I finally got the hang of it, and started making some new trap/hip-hop beats. It is also very hard to make certain genres of music on this app because most of the sounds on this app are very corny or (techno). It would be nice to have some modern trap/hip-hop sample packs uploaded into the app. THE MAIN BUG, is that when I was working on a track, the sound would just drastically lower, making the track very quiet. I have tried everything to fix it. I’ve heard of a lot more people with this problem as well. I’m really hoping the developer sees this so he can help my problem.

Great little app for demoing songs and rehearsing vocal parts over easily looped guitar chords...back when it opened. Spinning circle of death now. I can see my one “project,” but clicking on it won’t do anything, and creating a new one gives the spinning circle of death forever. Ugh. Hoping for a fix soon!

I love this game, but it needs a few updates. I’m getting bored because there are not a lot of instruments. Can you add the flute, cello, and clarinet? Maybe a few more? Thanks

This app is amazing! I was able to navigate easily for a beginner and make songs with my phone that were comparable to songs I’ve recorded in a studio.

Love this app. Please add a second crash for the drum kits. I love writing my midi parts with this app, then transferring them to logic.
