This app is good but the radio doesn’t work anymore I paid for it can help

It’s the best among the equalizers I’ve ever tried!

After happily using Equ for years, it's now badly broken. It forgets custom equalizer settings and won't allow new ones to be created, making it useless unless you're willing to recreate your equalizations every time you launch it.

-1 star: EQu cannot play iCloud (doesn’t show up) or DRM Music (says it’s unsupported), so Apple Music subscribers should look elsewhere. I’ll restore a star if this is fixed. I appreciate the flexibility of this app; you can create more eq points than most other eq apps. Numeric parameter entry and sharing would be appreciated. I can’t even share with myself, so I have to set up the curves individually on all of my devices. Also, dynamic gain would be helpful. Update: iPad Pro crash on launch no longer happening as of iOS 11.2.5. Though the current curve is preserved between sessions (for any number of points up to 30), the app fails to save more than two custom presets. There is a workaround; you can make room for more custom presets if you delete some of the pre-built ones.

Having tried several alternatives I can find no other that is as faithful to my music. Whether using a DAC, the headphone jack, the Lightening Dongle, Etymotic 4s, Etymotic hf5, or any of several cans there is none better. Certainly an improvement over playing my music through iTunes - though the iTunes Music app seems to have improved over the years.

Tunein wont load on the EQu app. I have an ipad pro 2nd generation and i downloaded EQu to use with portable bluetooth speakers. I am subscribed to tunein pro version, it used to enjoy EQu on my ipad 2, but with this newer ipad pro it wont load up tunein at all. I contacted tunein they investigated their app but concluded the trouble must be EQu and that i should contact them. Ive gotten no response from elephantcandy? I guess this app is abandoned? Idk?

This is the ONLY way I listen music in my car and with headphones!!! Can’t listen to music without it.

Worthless if you use Apple Music. Even those downloaded!!

Don't deserv stars

I miss the app CanOpener - it's sadly no longer supported. I like EQu, the EQ itself is good, but I would love (and pay more for) a crossfeed feature like CanOpener had. Also, the interface could be a little nicer, but thankfully this app is pretty bug free and gets the job done just fine. Also, please add time scrubbing to the lock screen!

This app has potential. But currently it pops loudly when head room is reached totally destroying the experience. If I adjust the settings to account for this the next song might need adjustment because it needs more bass. I don't like constantly adjusting or not being able to just leave it set at my liking regardless of the song that's playing. Make the headroom infinite or automatically adjustable, something. It ruins what could be an excellent app.

Of the equalizer-type apps that I have tried, this one doesn't stand out in any way. The interface, sound quality and overall presentation are basic and underwhelming.

The app itself is great. Endless adjustments to get your music just right. I was looking for a stand alone equalizer that I could use with ALL my music apps. I mostly use Apple Music, SiriusXM, and Pandora. None of which can use EQu. The app is great for its intended purpose. Just not my intended purpose.

The finest equalizer app I have used, conclusively. Accentuate the frequencies you need for the speakers you are connected to. Balance the rest to preserve clarity. With skill, this app can make every set of speakers I play through punch above their weight. I have the need to micro-manage my soundscape, and this has been the best solution so far, hands down.

Won't play any music I want a refund!

Easy to maneuver whatever frequencies you care to increase/decrease with such ease that I can adjust the sound of my car stereo without taking my eyes off the road. AND IT SOUNDS GREAT! Pull in warm bass, fill the void with clear mids and top it off with pristine highs. My car stereo isn’t that great but this app takes it to a whole new level.

Waste money

I am sooooo happy right now having found this app. I've never reviewed any apps but as soon as I downloaded this app and saw what I was able to do with my music, I had to give it 5 stars and review it. You can basically change the EQ from the main screen without going into different settings. Easiest thing to do. BUY IT!!!!

It's really great. Next update you guys should fix the timer in control center and on the lock screen so we can scroll through our music wherever we are.

When i try to listen radio tune in services unavailable massage display.how can i fix it. Its been 5,6 month. Developers doesn’t respond these comments. If you can’t resolve issue. I want my money back.

Can’t get it to work anymore

The tunein interface does not work. Continually get a message that it does is not available. How about fixing it?

I bought a set of beats studio wireless and wanted a good Eq to adjust the sound to my liking. I tried about a dozen EQ apps, some free some I paid for...this is the best one IMO...easy to use, and good adjustment...it made my beats sound perfect and then I tried on my car stereo and it made a huge improvement as well

I guess I should read more reviews or do a little more research prior to hitting the buy button on apps like this. Most of what I have is subject to DRM and therefore doesn’t play. What “should play” goes into a weird visual loop and in the end doesn’t play. Wasted my money. Sigh.

I found this app way back around when iOS 4 was released and I'm still using it on iOS 9.2.1 and will continue to do so on all the next versions. People are talking poorly about this app BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE IT. You have to set the headroom to safe because on ANY amplifier, it will distort and clip of you drive it too much. That's a hardware limitation. Start off with a slight W shape equalizer or a squished U shape and adjust from there. Increase the bass and the treble sides up and then the middle around 500-1k Hz area to boost the vocals. This app has the potential to make any set of cheapo speakers or headphones sound WAY better if you set it right. This has been my primary music player for the past 5 years or so and it's what convinced me to switch from my Sony Walkman MP3 player to iOS devices for music. Highly, highly recommend EQu.

As the titles states, useless if your songs are stored in the cloud, or if you want to steam Apple Music (or Pandora).

It does everything I want and allows for complete control over my audio!

Listening to my music with EQu on iPad Pro is amazing! Works great with my iTunes-purchased songs and can listen in background while in other apps. In addition, I recommend purchasing the radio add-on, giving access to hundreds of radio stations around the world, organized by genre. The equalizer is fantastic; you can tweak each and every song just the way you want to hear it. No other equalizer app comes close to EQu! Just get it!

I like the app overall, but not having swipe gesture to go back one screen is very annoying. Also, when I open the app it sometimes just starts playing music even though I have turned off the option in settings multiple times to "auto play when app opens." Also, you should be able to return to "all artists" list by tapping the Artist icon at the bottom when you want to change songs, but this isn't possible. You have to press menu on the top right and then the BACK button twice. Also, saving an EQ preset on the iPad frequently gives me a bug where the keyboard or text box to name the preset will disappear and I'm unable to name my new EQ preset. This continues to happen even after manually quitting the app. The trick is to have the right orientation of the iPad but it sometimes takes 5-7 tries to get it right. It's not a "bad" app. I use it daily. But it really needs some developer attention/updates to get it to 5 stars.

Out of all the equalizers I've used in the AppStore and even on my computer, this has to be one of the easiest, fastest, and most powerful equalizer. The user interface is very easy to use. The options are simple and it's more of a set them once and never touch it again type of settings. The equalizer is completely customizable. No knobs and fixed bands. You adjust the curve for exactly your liking. It goes from 32hz to 16,000hz. This makes adjusting bass, mid, and treble exactly to your liking. The app will also tell you if your decibels are way too high and in danger of damaging your speaker. I personally just love the flexibility of the customizations. Battery, and clipping may be a slight issue but the sound quality is amazing and I think is totally worth it.

This app had the best sound of any player out there. Now it pops and crackles iTunes music in iOS 9.x and iPhone 6s. 😩

This has been my go to app for music for years, now if you delete a song, it still shows up in the EQu app, never use to do this, please update!

This app does all one would want it to do EXCEPT allow you to use apps such as Pandora and SoundCloud. This won't be used as desired until the ability to integrate is available. Let's go ElephantCandy time to step it up and make this a GOTO music equalizer

Thank you so much for updating for the new IOS! This app rocks, great functionality and excellent sound quality. Fully tweak able and looks great. Takes some getting used to and songs will be quieter than before, but ultimately a vast improvement over apple’s eq settings, which are garbage. Occasionally crashes for no reason, but this app straight up kills it!

I tried nearly all the equalizer apps available in the app store, and this was the only one that truly provides control over the equalization. The other nice plus is you can set an equalization and save it as a pre-set, along with the “canned” pre-sets the app comes with. On the other hand, its not the most intuitive interface, but worth it in that I was able to get the sound I wanted. Definitely worth the money, in that now my earbuds provide the full range of sound they are capable of.

Works great. But it would be nice for it to be used on CarPlay. I'm surprised no one has figured it out yet.

This is by far the cleanest, well constructed music player I've found for my apple devise. I've played around and downloaded many players and NONE compare to this one. The best I've found! Well done!

I want my money back

I think EQu is a solid app and haven't had any problems, only enhancements to my music library. Pros: -offers extremely precise sound enhancements for each song, or you can create pre-sets for various genres/bands/songs/whatever you choose. -There are also pre-sets that come built into the app which are less in variation, but work the same as the iTunes desktop player/iPhone Music Player in that you simply choose one for any audio you have in your library. -full customizable equalizer "board". Everything from the buttons and words to the spectrum, background and grid can be any color/color shade your little heart desires. Cons: -the only real problem I have with the app is that it won't play any of my music in the cloud. In other words, I have the option to apply the app's tools to my audio only if I have it downloaded to my phone. Luckily, I have an iPhone 6 Plus with 128 GB storage (or whatever the "useable" amount works out to), so even with pictures on my phone I can download whatever I want with my Apple Music subscription. Would definitely be nice if Apple allowed my cloud audio to be customized with an equalizer other than their own, but for sound and visual improvement/customization of downloaded audio from your iTunes library, I'd definitely recommend giving this a try. Oh, for what it's worth I am not a music producer, nor do I probably even qualify as an Audiophile, but the audio I listen to is a very wide and varied set and I have enjoyed playing around with equalizers of all sorts for 20+ years. So take this review how you will, but I am confident that it should help, more or less, anyone over the age of 20 who has a heavy interest in not just music genres but also well produced music.

What I like best about this app is that you can pick whatever frequency you want instead of pre set ones to adjust sound. It is really easy to use.

This app has been perfect but ever since iOS 11 and the update of this app, audio stops playing as soon as you press the home button or put the phone to sleep. Please fix this it is very annoying when you start something and it just stops after the phone sleeps. Also when you press play from the lock screen it starts to play the next song it skips forward it does not start where it left off. One other major feature is missing the ability to fast forward from the control center and lock screen controls;

The app has lost its ability to show my saved stations. I have this app on two devices and it’s affected both devices. I can’t even bring up the radio on one device. Deleting and reloading it does nothing. What a shame. Time to find another app.

V2.3.2 works well on my iPhone and iPad Air. Gives great sound quality for this level app. A pro level parametric EQ would be the next step. Only issue I have is on the iPad. Presets cannot be saved. Name box pops up then disappears. Virtual keyboard comes up and locks open. Will not disengage without closing down the app. Does not do this on the iPhone.

I bought a relatively inexpensive pair of closed back headphones to listen to music from my iPhone on the train ride to work. Before purchasing EQu they sounded pretty dull without much impact in the bass and treble ranges. This app has totally transformed my music listening experience, the improvement is astounding! I created several profiles for different types of music, and love being able to tweak the settings on the fly. I can't believe I never tried this sooner, it is well worth the $3!

👍 Best equalizer app I've tried but it only access your music on your phone and tune radio. Give 5 if it was more versatile

You have to play your stuff THROUGH this app. It doesnt function during normal playback.It doesnt work on podcasts and radio apps. Later addition. So Ipurchased the Tunein access feature and now it has dissapeared. The operation is cranky and obscure to me, and I am a real time embedded sw engineer

App crashes constantly, lied about iTunes Music compatibility and took my $2 to have access to something called TuneIn, not to mention a huge bug where the app stops playing when the phone screen goes blank/locks. IF the app is working as it should, you can really tune your music properly and make it sound infinitely better (if you have a decent output)

Works Great on iPhone 7plus. And yes if you don't know what you are doing you can overdrive your system or phone so Back it down if you experience it

This has been my go-to for years... helps less-than-perfect headphones sound like ten times their price! Not to mention overcoming mastering issues. It’s five stars when using locally-stored tracks. But then I bought into Apple Music, and some design flaws were exposed: It really doesn’t make sense to show me artists/albums/tracks in the app that it can’t access. More importantly, I would be willing to re-purchase a new version that supports Apple Music. This app is THAT good.

Do NOT buy this app if you stream music through Apple Music! Does NOT work!!
