It absolutely great how they have managed to take out all the distracting things like sound design fx and large sound packs. Genius throwback. I love this app so much even though I purchased this Im gonna delete this from my phone and keep only a memory of this. Maybe the next update will be called orchestra maker with clanging spoons and a washboard. Can’t wait.

Reviewed on 8/28/19 2:00 PMAs someone who used to use this daily a few years ago when I had an iPad (recently obtained one again,) I think I am starting to remember why I stopped using this. I think the interface is quite well, takes a bit of time to remember where everything is at first, but you’ll get the hang of it. But it’s not very intuitive for serious work. I remember on YouTube, I made a tutorial on how to install your own sound files, which is kind of a long process, yet worked nonetheless. But you do that, it seems you only get a limited amount of workflow to use since it’s just samples in the end. The main problem with this software is that it costs quite a lot more than most of the apps in the entire store, yet costs even MORE after you purchase it when you a realize that almost everything else you may need is yet an additional purchase. Try making bass with the included synth it comes with, it will take you forever. The amount of VSTs and samples this comes with is a joke, it’s as if it’s a demo. You’re basically paying for a demo. I know a lot of time has maybe been put into this (I’m saying maybe because a lone Japanese kid made one of the most powerful VSTs ever created called Synth1 for FREE,) but I think this app from then till now is a cash cow. And I also feel BeatMaker 3 should be free or discounted to BM2 buyers. FL Studio (yes a PC and now Mac) software is not much more, but has everything you need and is the same file size as this. You have to step it up.

Reviewed on 12/18/18 1:03 PMI've been using the Beatmaker app for 6 years now. I've also downloaded/bought all the other prominent beat production apps, BeatMaker is definitely the best out there. There are a lot of great sounds and editing functions. For a personal example you can look up a song I made using a beat that I produced entirely on this app, called "Rap King Rap", anywhere online . It's also great that you can export files to Dropbox and even WAV format track-outs (every track is separated in the export). Wow, this really surprised me. Saved me so much time. This has been and will continue to be my primary production app of choice.

Reviewed on 12/18/18 1:03 PMBack in business. The MPC is like what a tape player is to an iPod now lol. Beatmaker 2 is the 💩. 65GB's of sounds on my iPhone now on my 128GB. Hands down the best DAW. Just needs a way to hook up to a external hard drive or make a desktop version. Those that are complaining about factory sounds are idiots. Import your own sounds with FileZilla and the world awaits on your creativity. I'm laughing at those idiots that can't use simple software or watch tutorials to learn. You get what you put in and that goes for life. Update Totally dissatisfied with the wait of the BeatMaker 3 release date for the iPhone version. I now have a 256gb IPhone 8 Plus and feel so behind because I won’t buy a iPad just for one particular app. INTUA should not give dates to customers and not stand by it. I’m not going to lower the 5 star rating on bm2 because of this but not everyone wants to use a iPad to make music with as portability and the developers should’ve put more time into the iPhone version being that the iPad version has been out for so long. Truly disappointed.

This app is like Logic/Cubase/Sonar in your pocket. Full of drum machines, keyboards, and synths that can be completely customised for any type of music. Many added features and sound packs. MPC style sampling (my favorite), live recording anywhere via the iPhone/iPod/iPad internal mic, and easy file transfer via WiFi. Even post directly to SoundCloud I love this app. Much improved interface from the original Beatmaker. Beautiful full color interface (not just shades of green). Easy editing, navigation, piano roll, mixer, EQs, ADSR, LFOs, velocity, zones, filters,...you name it. Its here. It will even warn you when memory is low on your iOS device. So SAVE people, and close those background apps. Well done Intua. Keep up the great work. This is way better than any other iOS music app on the market.

Reviewed on 12/16/18 1:04 PMBM2 has pretty complete functionality for me. I like the clip approach to the sequencer where editing a clip changes all of the same ones. I don't use the built in sounds but like to midi out to synths and record back in. There are a lot of mediocre sounds, and the drum presets have some poor additions. Luckily you can mix and match and load your own samples and edit them too. Learning the interface takes too much time. There are too many windows and too much switching to do simple things. There is hidden functionality, like automation, which one has to research online to figure out how to do. The file management is a mess too. It all works and allows you to do many things, you just have to keep the UI map in your head. Reading the manual is required as too little is intuitive enough to figure it out without it. One thing that is lacking is IAA for effects. The onboard effects are ok enough, but there are much better on iOS. This would be a much welcome addition towards a more complete DAW experience. Overall for me, I can do what I want pretty well and pretty quickly, so I come back to it often.

I've used almost every DAW on the App Store and this is far and away the best. Here are some major points you should know about this app: To get the most out of this app, you're going to want to use your computer. The samples it comes with are extremely mediocre, so importing samples through Dropbox is a must. The MPC is AMAZING. I feel like I'm working off of an mpc2000 when I'm using this app. the pad set up is great and it has all the features you'd find in maschine or akai. Lastly, if you're completely new to beatmaking, this app has a steep learning curve as opposed to GarageBand or other App Store DAWs. This app is far and away the best DAW on the AppStore. Though the apps sounds may be weak, if you mix in your sounds and take advantage of the effects, you can really create some amazing stuff. Buy it.

Reviewed on 12/16/18 1:04 PMBeatMaker takes off where Akai lacks...By far the best app for Mobile music production out. I love the Drum machine plus the sounds are great. You can import your own sounds and export to take your production to even higher levels. You can get your idea out anytime, anywhere. I have been waiting on 3 forever it seems however I can continue to wait. So excited!!!!!!!!

ADmusicProd's Review of Beatmaker 2
Reviewed on 12/16/18 1:04 PMI mainly use Pro Tools, Logic, and Reason - Beatmaker 2, so far, is as close as it gets on an iPhone. Yes, most of the built in samples are uninspiring but this app's strength is FUNCTIONALITY and VERSATILITY. For instance, you can map, edit, tune and filter samples; not even Music Studio can do all that (and Music Studio is my daily go to app for MIDI and teaching). Among other things, you can even automate the faders and effects. You can easily import / export samples through Dropbox.

Reviewed on 12/16/18 1:04 PMI got the game but it's very difficult to use and it seems outdated. This would be tolerable if it's free or .99. Definitely not worth the ten dollars

Reviewed on 12/16/18 1:04 PMI love this app, and would have rated this 5 stars. Although there is one problem. You're going to tell me that after years of producing music on here, I can't even post it to something like SoundCloud without sounding like crap? Make it compatible with MacBook also please, put the program completely on there so I can organize and post from there. Thank you.

Reviewed on 12/16/18 1:04 PMProtools doesn't make an app, besides a remote for the computer DAW, but if they did BeatMaker 2 would give them a run for their money. This app is so in depth and can do so much when it comes to music...if you can think it up, this app can do it...everything except Master music....even tho I use protools on a computer, when I'm on the go I use BeatMaker 2 on my iPad......
