This App is great. The animations are beautiful and clear and easy to present to children with articulation delays. I've used it with a few of my clients ages 4-6 and it was helpful. It's easy to use too. What's also great is the introductory price. Keep the apps coming Smarty Ears! :-)

Unbelievable! How can you develop and put out a speech app that generates incorrect sounds? When I purchase a multiplication app, I do not expect the math facts to be incorrect. Develop an update or have the professional courtesy to pull this app off the market. It doesn't matter how good the graphics are if the sounds are incorrect, and in fact, would be considered negative training.

wow! Having a 3D animated demonstration of how to pronounce the phonemes is amazing. Great app! Thanks for adding the examples on the application. It really helps people that are not familiar with the IPA. Update: WOW! Just played this app on my iPad 2! Amazing to be able to see my own image next to the app's avatar.

Don't bother purchasing's Review of Speech Trainer 3d

I feel that this app doesn't accurately depict the correct way to produce sounds. I also don't like that all consonants are paired with a vowel. It plays the demo so quickly it's hard for students to see what to do. Waste of $8.

Love!

This is a great visual to use with kids! They like the lateral view that helps them produce their target sound.

This app is very useful for children especially those who need a multi sensory cue...visual, auditory, etc. It is very simple to use and the children enjoy seeing all aspects of the sound produced. So glad I got it at the introductory price as well!

This app makes it easier for the students to see articulator placement and what you are asking of them. Great intro price!

As a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, I had high hopes for this app. I'm disappointed to have spent money on it. The animation of articulators is poorly coordinated with the sounds. The pictures don't show how the tongue's lateral surfaces brace against teeth to make fricatives and liquids. The opening and closing of the velopharyngeal port to shift between oral and nasal resonance are not well realized. The narrator pretty much misses the /l/ and also distorts the /r/ in "Valerie". She then makes an odd grammatical error, saying: "Hi, my name is Valerie and I'm going to guide you to practice the sounds of a English language." Yes, the narrator says "a English language". This app is built on a great concept, but it needs more development before being offered for sale.

A few serious mistakes!

I wanted to improve my English pronunciation; therefore, despite the lack of review for me to determine if this is a good app (and if worths the price – there are similar vowels and Consonants training on a few IPA/language related websites), I went ahead and bought it. After my first session with all vowels and consonants training, my conclusion: it's a less than desired app – too little examples for each sound (just two!) and a little too pricy for what it offers. But what really annoys me is a number of mistakes I spotted, and it makes me lost confidence whether the instruction for each sound is correct. Examples, k and g's instructions - the vocal cord highlighted but the instruction is for the nasal passage; and one of the examples for the s sound is wrong; "car" doesn't belong to s sound–either the spelling is wrong or the example is wrong. The developer should goes through every sound and its instructions, then have experts do the quality check and release an update soon.
