And follow suit! This magazine is too good to have such a lousy reading experience on the app. Please fix ASAP!

Great content, poor app

The paper edition is beautiful. The content is worth the price, but this app is wretched. It feels like reading a series of JPEGs. Text does not reflow if you want the font larger: you simply have to zoom in, like reading a newspaper with a magnifying glass. Links and the table of contents are similarly tacked on. Obvious enhancements like sound clips are not made. I hope they re- approach this app in the near future. Stick to paper for now.

Complete!

Now my iPad is complete. I can't believe I'm reading the best music magazine here! Keep the issues coming! Cheers!

Sure the resolution needs to be bumped up a bit. I am sure they will get around to this. It's nice that they have their own stand alone app for subscribers. Oh... And the searchable back issues... That's just amazing.

The future is here...but needs higher scan resolution

Nas T.'s Review of The Wire

Reviewed on 9/9/19 1:45 PM

I feel complicit in the death of paper publishing, but this is just wonderful. The Wire has been my favorite mag for over 10 years, but it's expensive, can be hard to find, and U.S. Subscriptions offer no savings at over $100 a year. $5.99 a month for access to both the current issue and the entire digital archive (with search!!!) is a STEAL. The only slight hiccup is that the resolution of these files isn't great; with how much The Wire loves its tiny fonts, I'm looking at slightly blurry text 95% of the time. Fun for a glaucoma simulator, but not so much for long form reading. Please increase the Rez, guys!

Almost Awesome

Why do so many good magazines use these guys? It's better to not have an app at all than to foist something like this on the world. Please, Wire, release a proper app.

Extraordinary content compromised by a terrible app

Sofa cushion's Review of The Wire

Reviewed on 9/9/19 1:45 PM

The superb information, reviews, stories, and interviews provided by The Wire suffer to the point of being unusable in this clumsy app. Impossibly slow load times and raster text (RASTER TEXT!) fail to keep pace with even sub-par contemporary electronic publications. This product makes a strong case for the continuation of the print medium.

Holding off

I'll lunge at this when the text is legible. As is: I'd rather stare at the sun.
