Loyal reader for 55 years. Glad to have the digital edition available day and date here in the U.S.

I was a long hold out for the excellent print edition and the fading art of print media in general, but... they’ve done such an awesome job with the digital version that I’m no longer going to the printed magazine. When my subscription comes up for renewal I’m planning to go all digital.

In the US this is very good. Don't have to worry about the USPS Destroying it or losing it The articles are usually excellent

This is my go to app to read about cars.

The previous version of this app took up far too much space on my device. This version corrects that and now that a few subtle improvements have been made it is a great app, on par with any I have tried.

This app takes way too long to download an issue. If you change the window from the downloading screen it stops, if you leave it to download on its own it stops when the iPad goes to sleep. Isn't background downloading a necessity? Does it have to start at the beginning each time as well? Really sorry as I love the mag, and enjoy the iPad version of their competition magazine Evo, which has never caused any problems.

They've really done a great job in putting this app together. I don't miss having a paper copy of the mag at all. It's easily readable, the photos are just as good, and the well-integrated videos are a great bonus.

Just awesome. Loved reading the paper mag and still do, but somehow they made the app even better. Incredible graphics and love the added imbedded media, like the videos in hd. Other magazines just copy themselves and are online, but this one is the model.

Well executed app, it really uses the tablet medium to maximum effect rather then replicating the print version.

I love the magazine. If I could change one thing about the app it would be to eliminate the slider text. Why can't we just go to the next page instead of having to fiddle with a sliding column?

I love Car and have been waiting for the app. I wondered how they could possibly transfer the high production values of the paper version to a digital format. They've done it! It's a great app, in fact better than the paper version in many ways. Fantastic photography and easy to explore. Wonderful. I subscribe to many publications on my iPad and even discounting the content, this is the best. Just great.

Long-time reader of the dead tree version, love the interactive digital editions! No more needing to find space on a shelf.

After paying, you receive an email with your customer number. After trying for several hours, all I receive is "an error occurred" after clicking the "create an account" link. They are happy to take your money but it doesn't seem to work in terms of letting you sign up and see the materials. Too bad as this is a great print magazine.

This magazine is very special as to its presentation and facts.

Excellent app, just as good as the mag. Why no reader's letters in the app version?

Love it! And about time too. Living in the States this will let me read my favorite magazine as its released.

Glad you have kept it with Motor Trend and Car & Driver going to the PDF format.

Subscription and authenticating process more complicated than it should be. Even for loyal subscribers renewing their subscriptions. Magazine content is good but nothing you can't get from either Top Gear which has simpler subscribing and signing up processes or from Evo's much more intuitive app. Zero stars here if it was an option.

Love the writing and photography. One star taken for editing. Too many typos and incorrect page breaks

The amount of content per issue is huge. Navigation within the app is different than with others, so use the How To page to get familiar with it. The print version has long been the best auto magazine in the world.

Car is probably the best car magazine in the world- the app is fantasic and very intuitive... I can say is up to the standard expected by its readers.

Super easy and intuitive to navigate, consistently excellent photo & print clarity, viewable in landscape & portrait, no ads; what more could you expect? Sets the standard as far as I'm concerned. Pricey subscription, though. That's the review I wrote last year after I downloaded the app & subscribed. I originally gave the car app five stars. I neglected to send it, and it still holds true, except-- It is now unusable with the update to iOs 8: all my mags need to be downloaded anew, but the app simply refuses to allow it, advising me that I need to restart the app prior to downloading any issues. Said restart only brings the same pop-up warning, and the cycle begins anew... Update this app, Bauer-- I paid good money for the ability to read these mags.

Car is probably the best automotive magazine in the world. Love that I no longer have to get the issues a month behind the release date. Wish the GBU feature was included on the iPad edition.

It doesn't remember me. Why? What did I do? Oh, developers, please work on developing user-friendliness. ...actually, just subscriber-friendliness. Tsk-tsk.

Perfect, if you like reloading the app every couple of days.

The September issue won't even download without crashing the app. And the support link is a dead email address. This is a great magazine, I just wish the app worked.

It's obvious: they hired an iPad staff and they have to use them. They created this "all singing and dancing" edition and they expect us to like it. If you enjoy starting at the beginning of the magazine and working your way to the end don't buy this. If you enjoy pointless journalistic labyrinths you'll be in heaven. Top Gear did the same and there approach isn't any better however I did buy the straightforward Top Gear PDF which is much better even if at the cost of having two digital subscriptions for the same magazine. So far CAR has resisted in offering a simple PDF but I think I know why - all the lads in the iPad department will end up getting the boot!

When it works Car Magazine must be the best magazine app out there. Great. Resolution, easy reading, excellent navigation and wonderful links to features. That's when it works. From time to time the downloaded issues uninstall and to re-download you've got to delete the app, reinstall it and the once again download the issues. The whole process can take hours depending on how many issues you want. Lately this is happening 3 or 4 times a day. I had several issues downloaded to read on the long flight from Denver to Tokyo . Of course they weren't there. As much as I like the magazine I won't renew.

Tons of content every month, great photography & writing, one of the better iPad interfaces.

Have always been a massive fan of CARs writing and couldn't wait for an iPad version to be released. I still love the articles in the app but the user interface is one of the worst I've used. Some articles you scroll down to read, others you scroll across. There is no consistency in the experience and it can often get frustrating when trying to read one of their great articles. I hope that future issues will come up with a more consistent UI framework to work off. Dave
