Please add tandem categories. Leader boards are whacked because of mixed tandems. Please.
luke dom's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/6/18 9:49 PM
Please provide the options to select / deselect what feedback the runner gets during run. Specifically, one thing missing right now is average pace. The app tells you current pace and last mile in, but doesn’t provide your average pace. This would be a great feature to add especially to race runners. Also, please add in hundredth decimal place on runs (e.g., 1.98 vs. 1.9).

xaxmxx's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/6/18 12:34 PM
Allow the runner to select the information they prefer to see on the watch face. Glancing at my watch during a run and not being able to read my distance without stopping is tedious. And why is the time of my first mile 2-3 mins faster on my splits that what I am told my Strava when running.

ZurichGuy's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/6/18 12:14 AM
This is my second season using Strava for road cycling. This year, it sometimes “looses me” near the end of a ride and then when I finish, it just draws a line from where it lost me to where I stopped. I use a C-dale cycle computer that I’ve calibrated to exact distances. Strava under and over reports the distances of my rides, sometimes by as much as 0.5 miles per 12 mile rides. Also, Strava consistently over reports max speed. Cycle computer reported 30.1, 30.3, and 29.1 and Strava’s numbers were 48.1, 45.0, and 36.9 for the same rides. But the worst is calories burned. I used four different methods to track calories (HRM, cycle computer, fitness tracker set to cycling, and calculated from ride data). Those four vary slightly from ride to ride but generally give similar numbers for calories burned. But the Strava numbers are always about half of those other four methods (with a low of 41% lower and a high of 60.5% lower). I contacted Strava and provided complete details. Their response was basically “we like our method”. The only reason I keep using it is because it tracks my efforts on various segments of rides and lets me know when I’ve improved on segments. I just wish the rest of the app was more accurate.

Update: last 3 runs have lost GPS signal. I’m going to try the Nike app. Never had a problem with GPS over the past couple years until the last update. I’ve now had to run where I looked at the app on mile and a half in and it only had recorded .3 miles. The only way to fix it is to restart the phone. Starting to be a pain in the arse. Please fix the GPS integration back to the way it was.
gifflerr's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/6/18 11:57 AM
Something has happened in a recent update where it records travel while recording but the time & distance never starts and upon save it turns into a straight line. This is happening to al of my friends with the most recent version, across different devices and geographic locations. DO NOT UPDATE YOUR STRAVA until they release a patch!!!

GCJ17's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/5/18 6:59 PM
Overall I love this app & use it 6 days per week. Two things that I would recommend, first make it possible to add new shoes from the app. Second, remove or change peoples activity when it is obviously incorrect, it messes up the segment leaders. When I see someone has ran 33 miles at a 3 minute pace it’s safe to assume they forgot to switch the app from “run” to “ride”.

You need to be able to save or create a route from a friend’s activity directly from the mobile app. Great app overall though. I think personally it would also be nice to be able to like comments and pm a user directly. But mainly the first thing.

Last update broke sync with the Activities app on iOS 12. The app would push the ride data over to the activities application but would not update the exercise time nor the calories count in the app. Do hope they fix this soon and also back date the sync to make sure previous activities show up correctly.
MaDaCa's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/30/18 3:59 PM
Strava seems to be behind with being able to upload apple heath data back to Strava. There are tons of people that have been left in the dark concerning this requested feature. They have had plenty of time to add this feature that many others already have. Until they get with it then I am giving them three stars. In the meantime you can use the app called HealthFit. Yes it cost a few bucks but at least it provides a workaround for something that should already be included.
burmarang's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/30/18 2:40 PM
Would give this app 5 stars if the watch app was fixed. Every time the app updates the watch app tells me the I need to log in on the phone app. This is beyond frustrating when I am able to start a run without my phone. They point of the gps watch it to run without your phone. Please fix so I don’t have to abandon Strava

Nosleeptillbrooklyn99's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/3/18 1:35 PM
I’ve used this app for years, the latest update must have been edited after 20 beers. Heart rate doesn’t work, FAQ says its just a quirk. If you do a little twerk, turn your self around, “do this to do that, don’t do this or you won’t get that.” Why not just make it work? Gotta spend a few hours turning on features that don’t automatically show up. I end up spending more time in the settings than running. Summit is short for “some it” you just don’t need. Developers, go back to plan A, start over, make it right, lay off the beers.
(:xcrunnerforever:)'s Review of StravaReviewed on 9/29/18 9:03 PM
After the latest update, Strava changed the overall time to the nearest minute, but it is much better at the nearest second. Please change it back! (Overall, the app is great! That is my only concern)
MegKate28's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/29/18 8:08 PM
I love using Strava and have not had many issues, but with the most recent update my calorie information no longer syncs with the apple health app even though the workout and exercise time does without any issue. Little disappointed I guess I have to wear my Apple Watch during all rides to ensure I get credit for all of my workouts.
AngelDN's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/29/18 7:09 PM
Quintessentially the best running app on the market. You work hard during your workouts. Now let Strava interpret your data and scientifically visualize your effort to its core and help you reach your goals! It has been a very long road arriving here (I have owned every Apple Watch series except 0) but it seems all the bugs are worked out with the series 4. Series 3 is good but the nuanced changes in series 4 make it great! Now, neither app nor device appear buggy or plagued with issues. I can now focus on my running because everything works seamless. I look forward to the interpretational data from my run as much as I enjoy the run itself! Strava’s deployment of GAP is really fascinating, accurate, and is why It is exemplary from all other apps. - Only add trail running option please?! Thank you Strava developers. 💯🌟💫

Quattrocup's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/29/18 11:22 PM
I paid for the training membership, and now with the latest update there is so much less data. I can’t even see an exact time for my last run, only the rounded time. The pace graph is hard to read and there are no units of measurement so I can’t even tell you what my pace was at certain times. Please fix and add back all the features and data that were there previously and I will update my review and rating. Until then I’ll use another app. I may seek a refund since the features I paid for are now missing.

SG 🌻's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/26/18 11:10 PM
I’ve used Strava for many years, I’ve been running for about 9 years now and I always use it to train for my races. I love the social aspect and I’ve never had an issue with the GPS when using my phone. I recently got an Apple Watch series 3, the main purpose being for exercise. I wanted to ditch the heavy phone and run with something lighter. I also was excited about moving to Bluetooth headphones to avoid the phone/cord situation and the hands free aspect was really appealing. Not to mention the Apple Watch also tracks heart rate and other things that my iPhone didn’t do. However, I’ve been really disappointed in the connection between my Apple Watch and Strava. My runs are totally off, it often gets the distances wrong, misses huge chunks of my runs, and records my runs as if I had gone way faster. I thought that this was a flaw in the watch but I have friends who have tried other apps with success. I also thought this was a matter of having the data plan, but I switched over to the one with data and I’m still having issues. I would love to see them make improvement in this realm. I’m so excited about the convenience of my watch and I want to keep using Strava, so I’m hoping to see some upgrades soon!
roycheung1120's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/25/18 4:30 AM
I would wonder if it is easy enough to have a triathlon mode, that just click next segment of the sport in the finish/pause screen on the Apple Watch version. It shouldn’t be too hard to do.
ivanlesko's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/25/18 3:50 PM

I love using Strava, I log my runs every single day on the app. The only thing I would change is to make Strava premium free. You work hard every day to put in the mileage, so you should be able to set a goal mileage for the week for free.
Dval44's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/22/18 8:34 PM
I just had the Apple Watch app delete a 15 mile run, which was an important one for me to record. I have one other long run stuck in limbo where I can “sync” then it tells me there’s no connection. The app on the watch while it’s going is 9 out of 10. The issues uploading and syncing bring the overall down to less than average. Unbelievably frustrating.
kgbjfchdjnvfh's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/22/18 2:33 AM

This use to be a good app but it’s trying to become like Facebook rather than an athletic one app. The “suggested follow” is annoying as hell. The inability of the app to go beyond 1 decimal point is annoying. Strava will also scrub mileage and speed off may activities. The app forces you to go online to add things like Shoes etc. this is something that you can do on Garmin. The 3 premium subscription is set up to charge you more in the near future. While this was the best app years ago it has not made any real improvement in years while others have. Garmin will give you all the Premium data like “safety” for free. Strava charges $2/month.

I've used Strava for about 6 months now and I have noticed a problem: Occasionally, I finish a ride and forget to turn off Strava. ColoradoPhotog's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/21/18 6:12 PM
As the title says I do not understand the love for this crap, sorry “app”. Over the years I have used MapMyFitness and Wahoo Fitness and they both blow this out of the water. That said they both have their issues, specifically Wahoo won’t let me use an Apple Watch has a heart rate monitor. This is a real shame because Wahoo is the only app I have used that calculates calories by factoring your heart rate. Speaking of calories Strava doesn’t even display calorie burn! I can only assume that the people who truly loves Strava are people who haven’t used anything else, or are merely in it for the social aspect.

It appears to sync with Apple health now. They also use meters and yards in swimming finally, which is great! Miles and kilometers for lap swimming was a joke. Still no swimming with the Apple Watch, unfortunate as I’m a swimmer/cyclist but not a runner. I would love to see them give that green through red graph for your speed on the map the way Nike and Apple do in their apps.

I contacted Strava and after much back-and-forth they said they didn’t know what was wrong and they would issue me a refund. The customer service sub par. I was bounced from one rep to another. They didn’t refer to notes on my help ticket so I had to explain multiple times that yes, everything was up-to-date, and no, I wasn’t using an Android. I’m using a Garmin Edge 520 and iOS 11.4.1.

I downloaded the standard version for a 30 day trial about a month ago, I decided the app itself was accurate and did what I wanted it to do so I decided to keep it on a monthly basis ($7.99 per month). They’ve since charged me $60 for an entire year and have not returned any emails about bringing my subscription back to the correct term. This is shady practice and shows they are clearly taking advantage of mistake with their users. DONT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. Use Nike Run Club or Underarmour free apps for tracking.

Wayan_V's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/18/18 2:46 PM
Newest update degraded GPS accuracy and removed accurate pausing. - GPS: I start from same location for every run. Current update no longer shows my true start point, but starts 50-100m farther along, so distance is less for same time, vastly increasing reported pace - GPS Bonus: app shows pulsating dot saying it has my location, so start app & run. Check app 5 min later: time tracked, but no distance tracked. - Pausing: now when putting app on pause during a run, app continues to count time & distance, so again overall pace is vastly increased. - Bonus: still no interval timing. Hey Strava, it’s 2018 already!

I downloaded this app to track my progress as I get back into consistent running:hiking etc. the set up and features seem ideal for basic needs. Unfortunately I can’t count on the app to accurately track my miles. Invariably I finish my run only to see that the app accounted for less than half of my distance. Of course, this affects pace, etc. this happens whether I have weak or strong GPS signal. Very annoying. I like the features, just wish the data were accurate.

It is one of the best running apps out there and it really makes non runners like my mom want to get the virtual badges. I ran into this problem a while ago and I noticed it when I went running and it said it was tracking my run but it wouldn’t show where I’ve been or tracked my distance, which make my runs very annoying because I wouldn’t know my splits or my distance/pace. It is a bug i found but maybe for others it doesn’t affect them. I have re downloaded the app so hopefully it changes

I’ve been using Strava for several years now, but it’s stopped working lately. It often misreads my runs, doesn’t record distance, or skips parts of my run. I’ve tried everything to fix it, but it just won’t work. Runkeeper works fine-even while I have them going at the same time. It’s a bummer because I have all my data on Strava, but I think I’m going to have to move on.
Miskilou's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/16/18 11:55 PM
Strava used to work just fine, but lately all my runs are recorded incorrectly. Today my 45 minute sessions was recorded as 23 minutes. Did the same yesterday. Lame!
Mr 26.2's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/15/18 8:26 AM
Stop messing with it, your last two updates have thrown off my mileage and I missing elevation! You were doing a good job this summer after screwing up the Spring.
walk4health's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/14/18 4:45 AM
I track my cycling rides with Strava now as their interface is the best to use. The info I need to see is large, and everything can be seen at a glance on my bike mounted iPhone. Strava has done a great job over the years continually improving their app. So useful to me.
GoforcHiker3's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/14/18 2:11 AM
I started a challenge to hike 800 miles in a year to honor a friend of mine who passed away. That being said I have lost so many miles it shows I do them but does not log them in total. Really disappointed !
Dreudaimonia's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/14/18 1:55 PM
Used to be a great app but a few weeks ago it stopped logging distance at all. Any run I do says "0.0" miles the whole way. Tried deleting and reinstalling and still does it. Useless as is.
N2AK's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/14/18 1:39 AM
Strava itself is great. I’ve used it for years. I have noticed recently (as have several of my friends) that the GPS tracking is taking a very long to acquire, and will sometimes drop during a ride. The “lost” mileage is usually 1-2 miles on rides of known distance. This has been the normal mode of operation for the last several months, and hasn’t been an issue prior to that.
CBRAli's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/14/18 1:08 AM
I like using app on my Apple Watch but the only thing keeping me from giving a higher rating is that I wish there was a simple stop watch built into the app for track workouts. You can’t run the app and the watch’s stop watch app at the same time, the Strava app will kick the watch off the screen and you have to fumble around while your running to try to pull the stop watch up again. If there was a stop watch option built into the app then I could track my mileage and my workout splits with ease.
Markuswoodrow's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/13/18 5:29 PM
Turn off suggested athletes. Or change the algorithm and only suggest athletes based on common routes. I don’t give a flip that Bill follows Sally and that Sally rides three Sadat’s a week for two miles. I care if Sally rides the same routes and commutes to work in my town.
Sam the Wizard's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/13/18 3:16 PM
The app version does not show all the stats of your runs and your clubs compared to the PC version, and there is no way to condense reps of a workout efficiently. Besides that, a quality app.
Bjluuk's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/13/18 2:30 PM
Over the last 4-5 days, the GPS has stopped working. The time seems to be recording, but when I finish, the readout is mostly 0 for time, dist, elevation. What’s going on? This was a great app until recently. Planning to switch back to Nike + if this persists.
Tassie Rick's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/13/18 1:58 PM

Says 0 for everything, distance, pace. Very frustrating! Deleting because is not reliable!
Bighands70's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/1/18 2:16 PM
This app is is inconsistent. At times it’s perfect but other times it’s a mess. GPS at times is incorrect. Distance and speed/pace is at times way off. User interface is also problematic at times. For example, it won’t stop after repeatedly tapping the “Finish” button. I thought at first it may be my sweaty fingers but other functions on my Apple Watch work fine. Please work on this.
fuqnugget's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/1/18 12:24 PM
Lately I’ve been finding super annoying issues w activities that seemingly don’t record until partway through the ride. Meaning lot of lost mileage and partial tracks. Turns out it seems to be if you use the 3D aka hard press menu to start an activity. Which is a cool feature but consistently when I just use that, I’ll find the start of my ride doesn’t record datapoints and the track only begins to record after the next time I pull the phone out and unlock it and view the app itself. This is a really annoying bug as I lost several rides (or at least the parts until my first break where I checked the app for mileage only to discover it hadn’t been recording). Bottom line don’t use 3D press menu until they fix it! Regular app use seems to work fine still, AFAICT.
TxAdamFitz's Review of StravaReviewed on 9/1/18 11:43 PM
What happened to the segments? We have a ton of paved trails in our area. I used to get comps on my ride through segments. Now I have a “no segments found”. However identical rides found segments. Please bring it back. It’s a neat feature and helps me gauge my effort. Update, I found if I start my ride from my Apple Watch the segments worked. I’ll see if this is a fix for my issue and respond back. Updating my rating to a 4 for now.

Great app but watch your battery just a 30 mile 2 hour ride will burn 30% battery and the phone is almost brand new my Spotify don’t burn that all day now this recording only on phone only I can’t say linking a garmin
Dave?sugarlungs's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/9/18 5:02 PM
Never had a problem with GPS over the past couple years until the last update. I’ve now had to run where I looked at the app on mile and a half in and it only had recorded .3 miles. The only way to fix it is to restart the phone. Starting to be a pain in the arse. Please fix the GPS integration back to the way it was.

The newest update has ruined Strava. I start my ride and everything looks like it’s working. I get to the finish and maybe the last 3rd of the ride has been recorded. I thought the auto-pause setting was the problem but it was not.

Veraxus's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/6/18 12:50 AM
Strava has two very important premium features: Beacon, which lets loved ones or crew follow your ride in real time for safety; and Heart Rate monitoring via Apple Watch. Unfortunately, do to very poor programming, you can’t use both at the same time. To track heart rate you have to start the ride from your Watch - but to use Beacon, you have to start the ride from your phone. Neither phone nor Watch communicate with each other in real time, so you can’t use both - just one or the other. I really can’t comprehend how a major faux-pas like this happens, and worse, Strava has known about it for almost two years now and hasn’t lifted a finger to fix it. Given the poor state of the app, I recommend using Cyclemeter instead. Unlike Strava, it WILL track both your heart rate and live broadcast your location at the same time. You know, the absolutely basic things you’d expect a $7/month app to do.
Newenglandrocks's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/6/18 12:24 PM
As of Sunday, August 4, Strava for Apple Watch stopped working. If you start your activity when you are indoors, and then head outdoors, it doesn't record your activity. This used to work. Who knows, it may be due to GPS acquisition problems, but I was quite disappointed to lose both a bike ride and a hike due to this new problem. One star until they fix this.
Leahsilvs's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/6/18 10:32 PM
Looove the app. But recently my rides won’t show up for quite some time from garmin connect to Strava. Garmin uploads fine to Garmin connect but then not to strava.
just-an-everyday-people's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/5/18 9:19 PM
So in your previous free version, the app calculates weekly totals, and setting a goal was a "premium" feature. With your latest download, premium is now called "Summit" and that once free feature of a weekly ride total is now only available for a fee. You've lost this app user. Plenty of other cycling and running apps.
seagreenlaw's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/5/18 5:11 PM
When it’s working properly, it’s a great app. I particularly like the segments function, which really motivates me to up my ride. However, I’ve had multiple problems with this app and have read the various threads online where people have reported similar issues, such as the app failing to show your average speed and your mileage during your ride, often resulting in the app only partially recording your total mileage (very frustrating when competing against others in a monthly mileage challenge). Strava’s developers need to fix these recurring issues or they’ll lose more riders and runners to competitors like Map My Ride.
Cruising 's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/5/18 3:50 PM
Minimal integration with Apple Health compared to other apps. For my biking workout: - no maps sent to activity/health app - no splits (detail by mile) - no active calories - no total calories - no elevation The normal Apple watch tracker has all this as does apps like WorkOutDoors.
youknownino's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/5/18 3:32 PM
I’ve been using the free version of Strava for a few years, but only just upgraded to “Premium” with their announcement of Summit. Since my upgrade I’ve had nothing but problems and have had zero responses from customer/technical support — despite their promise that my Summit membership comes with “expedited assistance from our Support Team.” What make me laugh is that I actually wanted to spend more money with them and they won’t get back to me... my entire issue has been adding two more packages to my account because the package I did buy (Analysis) isn’t what they sold it as. My recommendation is to skip the Premium Summit garbage because the features aren’t much and the support and customer care you receive is nonexistent. It’s a great free app but not worth paying for.
Anigmad's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/5/18 2:10 AM
After my normal monthly renewal, my account quit working as if I had no subscription. I put a ticket in and now two weeks later, I just received a 2nd automated reply that they will get to my ticket as soon as they can. Really? I’m a premium member who’s account is not working and they can be bothered to reply in two weeks? Ridiculous.

I’ve been using Strava for years and only had some minor blips along the way with tracking. I don’t know if it’s because of the latest updates, but the app cannot seem to pick up my usual routes anymore. My latest run has me cutting through yards and skipping long tracts, resulting in me running 5:00 miles. I wish!
Markuswoodrow's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/31/18 2:09 AM
I understand I don’t pay but it’s becoming nothing but an ad for the monthly subscription. They suggest other athletes based only by the fact that someone you follow follows them. Why not suggest based on similar routes or habits? I ride almost the exact same route to work and home. Yet, I still have to open and edit and then mark it as a commute. Why is that not automated?
Jonica38's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/31/18 12:04 AM
Don’t know what happened with the last update, but milage tracking has been up to 0.6 miles off. My data for splits and segment is utterly useless. Super frustrating, especially when training for a race. Please fix this, or I’m cancelling my subscription.

keithhamm's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/3/18 2:59 AM
I enjoy using Strava for the segments. This is what sets it apart from Runkeeper. I like to compete against some of the local runners.however, often cyclists chart workouts as ‘running’ and makes the segments useless. For example, a top 10 result for any particular segment may include a series of “runners” as clocking 4 minute miles.... because they are on bikes.

Mco9's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/29/18 1:57 PM
Easy to use very inconsistent mileage and elevation. I ride the same route each morning and the elevation changes by 800 feet and the distance changes by 1 mile from day to day. That is a huge difference such that I don’t really trust the app. Otherwise it is easy to use with simple yet feature rich interface.

Drking25's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/26/18 12:55 AM
I like strava, getting to see what your friends are doing is an encouragement to work hard, and somewhat of an accountability to keep the fitness going. ***Recommendation: I do wish that strava would enable a lock screen ability so that I can quickly check my pace, distance etc with raising my phone instead of having to try and dry my finger print off while running to unlock the phone and check. If strava had this function it would be top notch fitness app in my mind! Can you make it happen strava team?!

Run splits and run time is not correctly uploaded from the Apple Watch to the iPhone app. It seems that always the 1st km is uploaded with a wrong time showing that it was faster vs the splits in the Strava app of my watch. I love strava and I hope you can improve this small but bothering bug.

zhansen06's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/24/18 4:16 PM
All the good features, which used to be included in the free version of this app, are now behind a paywall. No more can you see your live heart rate and speed while cycling. You only get averages, which is worthless, and quite honestly a liability. I have a HR monitor so I can see when my HR is at its peak. With an average instead of live, this is no longer possible, unless I sign up for their expensive premium tier. If I want to see how fast I’m riding during my ride? Can’t. And now they have 3 premium tiers and it’s really difficult to figure out which one I need or would like. Their support page just says “get the summit pack”, but there are 3 different tiers of the summit pack, or you can buy all 3 and probably get what you want but it is pricey for a workout app. This app used to be great but I feel like they have so many features now, and are just trying to make money. As it turns out I don’t use all of these features and have no desire to. So at first I thought it was good that you can now buy individual premium parts of the app, but the new pricing strategy is difficult to figure out. Not to mention it’s more expensive if you want it billed monthly instead of annually. Just annoying all around. All of these features used to be free, now they are not. Bait and switch practices. Now I’m quite motivated to find another app to log my workouts because for me, the most important feature - live HR - has been taken away.

This app just doesn’t work. All you need to do is track where I’m going and calculate how long it took me to get there. It’s not rocket science. Here’s the thing: I love the layout. I love the social aspect. I love everything about it. But if it can’t track my rides, what’s the point?
Drg1760's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/23/18 9:27 AM

Auto-pause feature doesn’t work reliably. Often continues measuring speed/distance even when I’m no longer running, making the speed data unreliable. Worse, this app often fails to register that I’m running and remains in auto-pause mode.
gnomeofzurich's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/2/18 4:04 PM
...but Strava Premium/Peak is close enough to it for my purposes to get 5 stars! Interval training is the shizzy!!! The ability for the community to police itself on segments that were obviously done in cars w/o user shutting off the app seems to work well. I see with each passing day more e-bikes out on the roads & trails so I hope you folks are working on some genius way to keep these from compromising the integrity of KOM boards. All in all I tip my cap to the developers. Great app!

Ive used Strava for about 4 years and its been excellent, very happy with both running and biking activities. But all of a sudden ver 58 and 59 the GPS tracking basically doesnt work. I’ll start an activity, it will record my time for the whole duration, but misses half of the distance traveled (ive only been running recently). The weird thing today, before i saved my activity the map preview actually showed the whole route even though the distance was wrong, but then when i saved it the map changed to a completely different path. Please fix the app and ill be happy to change my review to 5 stars (if thats possible)!

Stravabooks app isn’t good at all. Rather than hiring good developers they hired marketing people to repackage old features into “Summit”. The Apple Watch app is straight trash. The metrics used are not useful and it isn’t customizable. Do us all a favor and download ismoothrun and copy it. Seriously. Also, syncing... 3rd party apps sync with strava faster than stravas own Apple Watch app!! For the last few days, I often open the app to complete a ride, and see that it logged 0 distance traveled because it was stuck on auto-pause. Not every time though.
joshsc119's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/13/18 4:24 PM
Been using this app off and on for the last year. Rides constantly don’t get tracked and instead show up as a straight line from start to finish with the time being <10 seconds. This has been an issue for the last six months with no update to fix it. Until the developers decide to actually care about the users of this app find a better ride tracking app that does what it’s supposed to do.

Run outdoors for 30 minutes and it either tells you you went no where or ran seven 4 minute miles...busted.
Wes31608's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/12/18 9:12 PM
Great, but the recent update made it so that my GPS doesn’t track the first part of my run. (And yes, I restarted my phone, turned off / on location services, turned off WiFi, and gave the GPS time to calibrate)... will give 3 stars until fixed.
velo.junkie's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/12/18 4:17 PM
I have been a Strava user for over five years and always found it reliable and an excellent way to track my rides and runs. Three days ago I updated to version 58.0.0 and now Strava no longer tracks distance and speed correctly - only time. This happens with both rides and runs. I’ve looked online and tried turning off WiFi, closing apps, turning location on/off, but no change. This is an issue Strava engineers are aware of but have no idea how to fix. Bummer. Guess it’s time to move onto something else.
shyamiyer's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/11/18 3:46 PM
It's been more than once I've found the app to have not tracked my run and the statistics are just not reliable! I use my iPhone to track my runs and do not use any run tracking devices. But I've tried all the ways suggested by Strava Support to troubleshoot my phone's GPS and the app just doesn't pick up my position. (I haven't noticed such consistent location errors so far on GMaps) The frustration at the end of your run, hoping that you'll track your statistics and progress and then you see - 0.5mi run in 38mins! Not a reliable app!!
Joshuabee's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/10/18 4:58 PM
As a long-time user of primarily Runkeeper and also Polar Flow (mainly as a backup), I really wanted Strava to be the better choice for tracking my runs & fitness but there are too many weird design choices and consistent issues for it to be. •First off, you can only change your shoes *through the website* which means you have to log into their site, go into the show options, and manually update it. There is no way to do this in the app. It’s beyond frustrating why this has to be the case. It’s a small issue but a perfect example of weird choices made with this app •The layout of different sections and options is poorly designed, often when selecting what looks like should be an edit link for settings it turns out to just be a wall of text describing the feature and linking to the website. It’s just not intuitive and hasn’t started making more sense over the three months I’ve used it •I’ve consistently had trouble getting it to recognize my Polar BT HRM, even when it seems to be seeing it. I have multiple runs where it didn’t record any HRM data while Runkeeper, Flow, and Apple Health had no issue (tried running only with Strava on, and same issue) •It really doesn’t seem to want to be used when one is running on a treadmill. I hate treadmill running but when it’s 95°+ outside, it would be nice if it was easy to still record my runs - how is there not a no-GPS or “Stopwatch” function from the activity screen? Hunh? I really, really wanted Strava to be my replacement for Runkeeper, but it just isn’t. And the impression I get from it is that if a feature or function isn’t available, they feel you don’t need it. Which might be great for some people, but not for me.

I am a cyclist and bike 5 days a week. I like to track my miles and time and personal best. Strava has recently had an ‘upgrade’ that now automatically stops my timer if my bike stops. And it doesn’t start back up when I move. Before the upgrade I could deselect this feature. Cool for runners. Stinks for bikers. And now I can’t find that feature to turn it off again. Is this an attempt to get everyone to purchase the ‘upgrade’. If so, no thanks. I’ll find another app.
WindinKS's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/1/18 7:13 PM

Strava hired an instagoon as CEO and usability disappeared. Force-feeding ads became more important than listening to user feedback. Too bad, I wish I could use this app, but I keep getting an error when trying to login with Facebook. Sure I could try to use another login method, but I believe an app that is broken isn’t worth trying to use a work around. I feel the developers should at least make it usable at the login step...
Berni20's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/1/18 12:46 PM
I was so excited to use this app to track my run while I train for a half marathon, but I’ve been disappointed with it. I’ll finish a run and the GPS has incorrectly mapped my run making it longer or shorter by a significant amount- which to me defeats the purpose of having an accurate map for my runs.
dugan22307's Review of StravaReviewed on 8/1/18 11:20 AM
I am a Strava Premium member and use it to track my cycling data. I was glad to ditch the heart rate strap and track my heart rate on my watch face. Problem is that once you get to 110+ beats per minute the display doesn’t show your heart rate. It will show 1...❤️. I have a full size Apple Watch, so that’s not the problem. Seems like it would be an easy fix; also seems like any Strava engineer that actually used an apple watch would be aggravated by this as well.
qplunk's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/9/18 6:30 PM
I like the organization of the app, the interaction with friends, and how Strava shows your progress on routes you run often. I do not like how the pace that is posted is different than my actual pace, even with the auto pause turned off. If I have to stop because there is a red light on my route, I want that to stay calculated in my overall pace. I don’t want to think I run an 8 minute mile if I’m only running a 9 minute mile. I’m also extremely annoyed with the GPS on this app. There have been multiple occasions where I run a quarter mile or more and strava just doesn’t pick it up. I don’t want to be cheated of mileage or need to stop during a run to restart my phone and app so that the rest of my run and pace isn’t effected by strava. I’ve heard great things about run keeper and will be switching over.

I downloaded this app a few months ago because I thought I would like it, I don’t, but that’s beside the point. I signed up through Facebook and when I decided I wanted to cancel I had to go through the most ridiculous, absurd process to get them to stop charging me. Because I signed up via Facebook I didn’t have an email address/password to cancel my account. Okay. Fine. I’ll just call them, right? Wrong. I had to submit a request to speak to someone via email who took FORVER to respond to me and eventually got them to send me a link to cancel my account. But that’s not the worst of it. I’ve been hanging out for months thinking I had fully canceled my account (which I did) to find out that they have somehow started charging my boyfriend’s credit card?! I NEVER gave them that information, my boyfriend never created an account, and neither of us have any clue how this happened. I tried to log back in thinking that maybe I screwed up the cancelation process. Nope. When I put in my login info the system rejects it saying that the email is not on file. EVEN WORSE they don’t have a number I can call, and you have to be able to login to submit a request to speak to someone via email! This is an INCREDIBLY untrustworthy, skeezy company. I have no idea how to fix this other than having my poor boyfriend cancel his credit card. Wish me luck, and please stay away from Strava.

It used to be pretty reliable, but the last few times I’ve used it, I have had issues with data recording / uploading. Not sure if it’s all bloated now, but it’s not reliable. It’s no fun to finish a ride and watch your data disappear.
Cpindc's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/8/18 8:03 PM
I got Strava because I thought it could easily help me find routes for biking, I’m trying to make biking more of a part of my fitness routine. Having to get on a desktop computer to set routes adds way too much friction to what should be something fairly easy to do on a phone. I signed up for the premium trial (happy to pay for something that’s useful), but I’ll probably cancel it if I can find an app that will help map bike routes on my phone (I think even Google maps and Waze have a basic version of this, I thought with the popularity of Strava they’d offer something better).

Evan3168's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/7/18 4:36 PM
Great app when it works, but the auto pause function is so messed up. It often does not register the start of my runs and so will leave sometimes up to 2 miles of run data unaccounted. That’s unacceptable to me, especially as a paid premium member. I have tried all of the support suggestions to fix this and it still happens sporadically.
Manyy191's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/6/18 6:02 AM
Ok so strava is a very solid running app overall and I couldn’t recommend anything over it. A major problem, however is that on Apple Watch distance is only displayed to one decimal place. Although the more accurate distance can be seen after the run, runners like STATS. It’d be very useful to see this kind of specific statistics displayed on Apple Watch during the run.

adl_runs's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/5/18 4:34 PM
I tried using the Strava app on my Apple Watch series 2 for several runs and it consistently would not start mapping mileage until a quarter mile or more into the run. You never find out it is doing this until after the run is uploaded once I’m back at my phone. Extremely annoying because it shows my pace to be much faster than it actually is. There needs to be an indicator showing when GPS is acquired so I know when to start my run. I was not in a wooded area when this occurred each time. For now I am going to use the native workout app and then upload to Strava using another app.

Strava, When are you going to give us current heart rate, so I don’t have to go to another app just to get it? You could make the HR field a touch-toggle between average heart rate and current heart rate; that would be excellent.
counter5th's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/31/18 4:30 PM
Why can’t I use the Apple Watch for heart rate analysis while using the iPhone app? This is a critical missing function! I was under the impression that this was possible with this app so I paid for the premium membership. Turns out, you only get heart rate analysis when using the Watch app. The watch app is more dumbed down as it only lets you select from a few predefined activities. After my ride with the watch I have to open up the phone app and edit in all the missing details like equipment used. You also can not select a route on the watch! I will be going back to Cyclemeter where I get all of the analysis info on my phone screen and the heart rate from my watch at a 1/5 of the price.

Problems again, but I did have a good 3 months of proper tracking. Not it’s split between being pretty close to accurate, to completely crazy & all over the place. I still want to use this app, but it’s getting harder & harder to support it, since it’s become so temperamental & hard to trust. I will be trying out alternate apps now... ——— Old 1* review; For the last 5 months or so, with a few days here and there of working properly, Strava or iPhone has been unable to properly keep track of my distance. It just goes crazy & puts random lines all over the place. It was a 5 Star app, but lately its just been a disappointment. Made walking not so much fun. Fix it & you’ll get your 5 Star back. ———— Old 5* review: I use this app daily, but I can't run. I have to use the run option for it to keep up with my miles daily / yearly. Annabelle60202's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/28/18 6:41 PM
I really enjoy Strava. My only issue is several times, and this is the fault of touch screen tech, not the app, something will happen and the app won’t start after I hit start and store my Phone in my running belt (ie, in between hitting “start run” and putting my phone away, “stop” will get pushed and my run doesn’t get tracked). I wish there were an auto sensor or something so if I have Strava open, and am actively moving, it can log the run regardless.

I have pretty religiously used Strava for the last few years. I’m pretty simple when it comes to run apps—just chart my time, pace and distance. Over the last few weeks it can’t even do that. I’ll hit record, the time will go but distance and pace stand still. Just downloaded this last update, maybe I’ll try it again, but I’m def looking for other apps to replace it.
wulfmeister's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/26/18 4:55 PM
You have to pick recording a run/cycle on either the watch app or the phone app. You can't view the map or stats on the phone while also recording heart rate data on the watch at the same time. Kind of lame. Also, allowing data to be written to the Health app causes data overlap when recording with the phone, where the calories burned are added from the Strava app, but also added from the watch's "active energy" reading. I've ended up using the Exercise app on the watch to record the workout to Apple Health with heart rate data, while using Strava with Health permissions disabled on the phone just to track the route. Which kind of makes purchasing Premium pointless
Neha815's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/25/18 5:03 AM

Turn off suggested athletes based on people who are mutual friends. I don’t care about that. Suggest them based on routes and habits. AngelDN's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/20/18 7:58 AM
I would give this 9.5 stars 🌟 if i could. Update: some of the issues blamed on Strava are innate to the Apple Watch itself. After reading several developer articles, first I learned that Apple plans to improve usage of the GPS in the watch series 4. Let that sink in. Secondly, the lag related to mileage is related to the watch having trouble untethering from the phone (...and GPS issues). 🎧 For those having trouble with Apple Music playlists on your watch, this is also innate to the watch and not Strava. The workaround is one, do not play music on your iPhone while your watch is on. For some reason, the watch looks for the music on the phone if you decide to later run or workout w/o your phone. The option to switch back to the watch playlist during the workout disappears. Weird. Or, you can turn your blue tooth off to disconnect the watch from the phone prior to a run but this can can cause issues. In most instances I turn the watch off, wait until I am out of phone radius, turn the watch back on and ensure it works correctly by performing a quick warmup walk. I make sure it saves rather than state, “no movement detected” which means the GPS did not record any of the activity. _______________________ Update; series 3 and Strava is what the running world, using both hoped for all along! _______________________ The Apple Watch (Series 2 GPS) will fail you between 16-18 miles, maybe sooner. I used MapMyRun phone app with a distance of 18 miles, prior to using Strava. Ran the same distance on my Apple Watch, with Strava, no cell phone and was two miles short. Kept adding distance to make up the difference and managed to arrive at 18 (sometimes, between 17 a 18.7 miles). Never 19 or 20 miles. Even when adding additional mileage, I was still between 17-18 miles. I then purchased a GARMIN at the advice of STRAVA runners. However, I was still using the Apple Watch. Two weeks ago, while not paying attention but was so confused by the Apple Watch, I uploaded the GARMIN data. All the extra work appeared. Apparently, the Apple Watch was just not able to calculate the mileage. I was so shocked by the difference/distance, I deleted and re-added the data file, with the same results on both Strava and MapMyRun. Apparently, I was overcompensating for the inadequacies of the Apple Watch (series 2 GPS) to ensure I was running at least 18 miles. The GARMIN confirmed what i felt in my body as a runner; the miles ran and the distance calculated was not consistent. I ran my first calculated 20 miles, but my Apple Watch/ Strava still states 18 miles. Last week, it was 19 miles. The Apple Watch still stated 18. ——— This was not realized until I started running with both watches. I realized the Garmin and Apple Watch were on par util mile 16 (both distance and pace). Afterwards, the Apple Watch lost track. I am not sure if it was due to battery drain (Strava, heart rate and music running at the same time), but it lost two miles, consistently. When I raised the watch to check distance, after not hearing audio cues, alongside the GARMIN, the Apple Watch was slow and calculated 18 miles. Meanwhile the GAMIN was at about 20, which was correct and again confirmed through both Strava and MapMyRun.

This app is junk. I use it exclusively for biking as I use NRC for running. It gets stuck always pausing workouts and the resuming workout. Every time I go out it does this sh*+. I hate it. Don’t use.

For the past few weeks Strava has been causing my phone to lock up so badly that the only mitigation is a hard reset. Seems to happen most often when you haven’t totally killed the app after each use.
sidb's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/20/18 2:16 AM
It popped up a “please rate Strava” dialog despite me having the system setting for that turned off. Minus two stars. Then that very same dialog immediately crashed the whole phone and made it reboot. Minus the other two stars. Don’t abuse your users, Strava.

evancycles's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/20/18 10:41 AM
Great way to connect with friends, compare segment performance, and download routes. However I feel other apps do some non-social things better. For example: The app Ride with GPS creating routes feature is a fine tuned machine compared to Strava’s clunky beta route builder, even my Lezyne GPS comes with a better route builder online app. The ability to upload a GPX file not related to a Strava activity into the Strava route builder would be helpful. Overall Strava has become the Facebook of Running, Cycling and swimming with some good features, but it’s currently not the one and only app I use at the moment. I go back and forth on if the premium membership is with the cost, but I’ll likely renew.

Please keep in mind. Not everyone’s smart phones don’t have large size of storage. So, Please cut down its size to 50~60mb of app. We don’t need to have everything in that app. Make it simple. Please!!!!
jssjdjdjjsj's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/2/18 6:03 PM
Love the app, love the idea more. As far as a suggestion is concerned i know you get notified if you lose a KOM/CR but I’d love to have a notification sent out if anyone you follow passes you on a segment leaderboard. That would keep friends dueling for certain segments. Of course an option to turn that off would be a good call too.
three-j's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/2/18 3:47 AM
When syncing my Lezyne Enhanced Super GPS, the Strava elevation shown is terribly off compared to the elevation that was supposed to sync over (1447’ actual, 95’ in strava). The gear mileage for my mountain bike is only showing 25 total miles, and I’ve had multiple rides nearing 20 miles each. Please fix this! Thanks

I have used strava for several years. As a nearly 60 year old rider do I really care how I rate overall on segments? Better give us a trigger choice to determine our point of comparison. Hint it will be age group for a lot of us in your older demographic. Without this feature soon I will drop this subscription. Been subscribing for several years and no substantive update.
crwdstrct's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/19/18 1:38 AM
I’ve used this app a few times on some really long bike routes for races and would have been totally screwed on race day if it wasn’t for painted road markers. It’s a great app for doing routes you already know by heart and for recording a freestyle route but trying to match somebody else’s in a city or part of town you’ve never been in can be very tedious and frustrating when you have to check your phone to make sure you’re still on course. But if you know everything and you’re a human GPS, this app can take you to the next level.

ROSEJP79's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/19/18 12:54 AM
I was a premium member for 6 years, and cancelled it this year. Strava has slowly been removing capabilities over time. One example is the option to search/explore strava segments in a specific area. What’s the point if you can’t look for segments in your neighborhood. Customers have asked for options such as the ability to filter out unwanted activities (like swimming or yoga, no one cares), but strava has not responded. There are more and more ads of course. I’ve read a lot of strava’s forums, maybe strava should as well. Strava switched to an algorithm, which shows random activities on my feed vice showing my friends activities in chronological order. I don’t care about their rides from last week, I want to see this weekend’s rides on my feed. Adding photos to activities was a good touch though. I like that. Strava is no longer worth my money. I use the free version occasionally, but I’m definitely not on it like I used too.
Trackracersi's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/19/18 12:28 PM
****This review is for APP only**** ***I did not attempt to use website*** **This is for free version I did not upgrade** I got this app because of a virtual race I'm running soon, but don’t think it’s going to be my go to app for running. Pros. 1. Good community 2. Used for many virtual races Cons. 1. 1 decimal place 2. Cant switch to kilometers 3. Phone and watch run separately 4. Very limited info on screen 5. Doesn’t read heart rate from Apple Watch 6. Can’t do custom training sessions Seems like a great app for cycling though. There may be more options on the website, however I am looking for a good easy to use app not an app/website combo. I would recommend Runkeeper for a great free running app, I have used it for manny years without spending a cent (though i have been tempted to try their training plans which require the upgrade).

J T. R's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/18/18 11:07 AM
I have pushed my Garmin Connect data to Strava for years. It has an elegant design and solid social features, but what’s most frustrating is how few people seem engaged in the community. While many friends have signed up, only a handful are active users. I can’t tell if that’s a commentary on Strava or American fitness, but it leaves me wanting more in the app.

MacPanther's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/15/18 2:36 PM
I love Strava. It rocks I so many ways. The only thing it lacks is turn-by-turn cueing on routes. I realize this is an oft-repeated request, and that you have addressed it. I realize it opens a Pandora’s box. But implementing the feature set would take a great app and make it a killer one.
Fireballburrito's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/15/18 1:17 PM
Okay so this app rocks, I’ve been getting more friends to use it and we all have a lot of fun with it. My only complaint is that I’m currently having an issue with the gps reliability. More often than not now, I’ll start recording for a bike ride, and for the first mile or two, it won’t actually track me. So then when it eventually starts working, there’s just a straight diagonal line from where I start to where the Gps starts working properly. So I’m losing ride time, distance, and segment challenges. If they could fix this bug in an update soon, that would be very much appreciated.
Elbowman1's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/14/18 8:17 PM
It’s easy to use and it’s a great way to keep track of your training as well as being able to see your own incremental improvement on the leaderboards. I love the motivation it gives me to get out and ride when I see friends posting rides and getting faster!

I’ve been waiting for weeks now to talk to a human about a segment error. Ridiculous. Also I’ve had inquiries not responded to in the past. The app is great social tool for biking, running, and swimming. However there is zero support for triathletes which boggles my mind considering that ppl have been asking for this for a long time. One main activity with total tri time which can be drilled down to see the separate sport times. How about triathlon challenges? Almost impossible hitting sport specific challenges when your training for 3 different ones.

Please please please listen to your customers and revert the pace bars to “shorter = faster pace, or shorter time!” Longer bars do not mean faster, despite what your programmers may think. Please at least give us the option to change it. There is an ongoing thread in your customer forum for months that you have ignored. It’s time to change it back. How hard can that code change possibly be?

It’s a weak app for the basics like maps, editing rides and routes and segments, and their customer service gets a flat F. They continue to waste time on social stuff and think improving “kudos” will make them better. And, if you belong to a Strava club, only an admin can invite the group to group rides? Just change “club owner” and “club admin” to Mommy and Daddy.
CherrioJoe's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/13/18 3:49 AM

It’s super rare that I find someone NOT on Strava, so it’s a great way to keep yourself accountable (PRs, sure, but just getting a workout on the boards!), and to let everyone else know you’re supportive of their efforts, too. Commenting is fun in addition to giving Kudos. I’ve not explored all parts of Strava, I’m just happy it works without effort on my part. I use a Wahoo Element Bolt on my bike, and the Element app synchs automatically to Strava. Same with TrainerRoad indoors. Running I generally have my phone with me. I COULD use my Garmin tri-training watch but that always seemed like more trouble than it was worth hence the Wahoo. Have only experienced a couple of glitches on Strava, one of them related to deep canyon riding where I find it amazing I got a read of ANY kind. The other was user error: I’d accidentally created two accounts. Customer service was amazing: quickly located both accounts, identified the one I’d likely prefer to keep and let me know how to delete the other. No fuss, no muss. Thank you, Strava!!

Musicpowered's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/13/18 11:16 AM
If you want anything more than a map of the route you just rode or your average speed, distance and time. There are plenty of apps that do that. Heart Attack Randy's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/12/18 7:04 PM

I’ve been a Strava Premium member for years and last 2 weeks Strava won’t consistently record my activities. It’s a shame that the fundamentals of the app (logging mileage, recording heart rate) are spotty. I’ll be quick to revise my feedback if things improve. But for now.... very negative experience.
Alchemy2u's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/10/18 7:04 PM
The app works well for tacking your workouts, but I accidentally signed up for the premium service. I had put the phone in my pocket while loading a ride. When I looked at it was asking for my fingerprint. Thought it was locked and I would just go ahead and open it. But instead I guess I pocket requested the premium service and my fingerprint was accepting the charge. The bill rang on my phone immediately and then I realized my error. I notified Strava within 5 minutes and twice more the next two days. I finally got a response saying they have consolidated my 3 tickets into one. All they have said is they are working hard to get to my request as soon as possible. It has now been over a week and nothing new. It is getting to late to cancel the CC payment. Can Apple help?
CG Utah's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/10/18 4:06 AM
This is one of the best cycling/running apps that I have used over the years. It can track your location mid ride/run if you check it often and it doesn’t take much time to load ( 30 secs top). It does have one downside though, it is that you have to use the internet on you phone or computer to put in your gear. It also has a social thing where you can see what you or your friends are doing or see where they have been riding/running that week. Overall this is a very good app and I highly suggest downloading it. So have fun and happy trails everyone.
Smmmmmmmmmmmmmm's Review of StravaReviewed on 7/10/18 10:29 AM
The app works to store mileage, shoes, and has a cool competitive aspect with segments. However: 1) it seems that at least 10% of segments are stolen by idiots that list their bike or sometimes car ride as a run and have 3 minute/mile segments. There should be a flag system, either automatically by strava recognizing those ludicrous paces, or manual flagging by users. 2) my week HAS to start on Monday, not customizable or on Sunday like most of the running world uses. 3) year rounding of mileage is freaking infuriating. If you race a 3.1 but watch clocks 3.099999, your data shows 3.0 and makes your pace look off. This is just bothersome with all mileage throughout the week.

This is the Depository of all workout apps. If you use Garmin or Apple- it’s a must have. You will see your friends workouts and be able to compare your workout to theirs...Seamlessly! Segments are so easy. Compare your times to other who have done the same route or a small portion of a route: Run or Bike. For example: I might have just bike 50 Miles. There might be 10 segments and I can choose any or all when I am done. Strava let’s me see how I did against: other males; females; how I ranked today- for the year- all time- and if you’re Premium then by weight and more! Set up your own segment and watch how you rank. This is fun and motivating for me. Also- I love how it keeps track of my mileage YTD and I can see how many miles I road at a quick glance. I love my Garmin Connect, but this lets me see my buddies and I can find and or follow all my friends and track how hard they work out by their HR score (Suffer Score?). This is a must have app. Set your privacy setting to what your comfort level is if you just want to share with certain people. Learn, analyze and enjoy each workout with the App that gives back!

I received email for free seven day trial. I click the link in the email and I will still charge $7.99 for a month. Premium service is worthless you really don’t get any benefits for the premium monthly fee. Don’t waste your money on this crapy App. Also note, you can create a route but It does not offer real time turn by turn directions. Pointless. Skip this app and download “Go Run”
Ferris10k's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/8/18 5:13 PM
Great app and love it but it’s not good for competitive runners on the Iwatch. Garmin users have lap options which we don’t. Strava is useless on anything outside of a distance run! You need to add laps for speed work conditions.

Recently activities are randomly unable to save due to “motion not being detected” even though pace and distance updates are given (albeit inaccurately) during activity. When working as designed, great app and makes the cost of Apple Watch worth it! When working properly...

This app allows other users to know where you run and when. Should you run near your home - it’s right there on the app. Run the same place every day? Strava followers will know - and can find you if your settings allow. No thanks. I just want to run and keep track, not connect with random strangers. Good luck.

When using the Watch app when I’m not connected to my phone, it’s a really bad experience. When I lift up my wrist to check pace/distance, it will auto-pause the workout and then a few seconds before resuming. I never stop running while it’s doing this. If I’m not connected via cellular and I try to Finish my run, it won’t let me saying it’s not detecting movement. I wish I could use the native Apple Watch workout and then share with Strava.

Super easy to use, no pop ups which is nice. I’ve been using this app for. Couple of months now and the Only Complaint I have is that the data from whatever I record doesn’t pop up in the fitness app on iPhone/I watch . So say I record a bike ride, it doesn’t show up in my activity. It may not sound like a big deal but I Need it to count towards my activity rings on iPhone/I watch. Filling up those dumb activity rings is the main reason I’ve been able to keep up on my fitness regiment. I can’t go back and see what I’ve done for the day unless I open strava. Please fix this. This app is the Best for recording app so far, and I’ve tried a few.it’s easy and quick. I definitely recommend downloading.if this issue is fixed I’ll definitely come back and change to a 5 Star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Please, please turn off the Apple Watch heartbeat monitor with the ride is paused or auto-paused.... it kills my watch battery!!! Also experiment with reducing the constant heart beat monitor to once every 5 or 10 seconds so that I can track a whole long ride and it doesn’t kill watch battery. Thanks!!

Download two years ago. Seemed fine. Worked well with “relive” app. Now it prompts to upgrade to premium constantly. Drops my GPS signal on every ride, and robs me of my miles and effort. I have turned off the pause function but app still screws me every ride. I’ll bet if I upgrade to premium from the free app things would suddenly work like a charm! No thanks. Keep looking there are better apps that are free.
zhansen06's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/30/18 4:09 PM
This app is great if you’re looking to track your running or cycling activity and stats. If you’re using it for that, there really is no comparison. However I have yet to find a good way to just track my HR while I do calisthenics, stationary biking, or just lift. I want it to record my HR and calculate calories burned during these types of exercises but I have yet to find a way. I miss having an Apple Watch that made that part so much better.

I like the app. It’s easy to read. Easy to toggle between average pace and splits. The only negative I see is that I have to have my phone nearby to sync from my watch. I have the Apple Watch 3 with cellular and I think the strava app should support this so that I can really leave my phone at home

Most all the folks I ride with use Strava. It’s nice to be able to see how you’re doing compared to other riders, especially those you follow. But a recent update has taken that last feature out, it appears. If I look at a segment I just completed, I used to be able to instantly compare my time to those I follow. No longer. Maybe it got moved.

oceanminded28's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/3/18 11:00 PM
I have been a Strava user for about 2 years and love it for the most part. I am rating it a single star because the engineers need to get their stuff together. I am trying premium for this month as the free thing but don’t see a need to keep it and pay anything when there is no true integration between the Apple Watch and the iPhone app. Many apps have the watch and phone apps sync up with no issue and yet I read on the Strava website that Strava puts this feature with low priority. So the dilemma is use the iPhone app so you can use the beacon, but no heart rate is recorded, or use the watch app to get the heart rate but loose beacon and you can’t see where you are in the route. Not enticing to pay for an app that won’t integrate fully. Needless to say I won’t be continuing with premium until this is remedied.
Peeejjj's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/29/18 6:31 PM
It’s getting worse. Whatever updates have been made have caused about 2/3 of my runs to be inaccurate. Sometimes a run will restart itself after you’ve finished and saved it, resulting in stats that don’t add up. Today, my first mile was listed as 0:00 even though the average pace was correct, and the calories were underestimated.
Ohyonghao's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/29/18 5:22 PM
Strava just keeps making bad design and implementation choices. First was the removal of the black theme, now it’s the activity feed becoming an algorithm. I’ve stopped my premium membership until they give us the option to change it back for the feed.

Guys, I know the Apple Watch APIs aren’t the best. I know writing tests is a pain. I know that QA takes the backseat to feature development. But please, please test - and fix - your Watch app. I see a lot of people on Strava support complaining about Watch uploads just hanging and then being told that there’s a problem with their data connection. And now I’m having this issue too. This seems to have been going on since March. These are your customers that you’re leaving hanging for months! Pls fix.
beegeeeer's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/28/18 6:55 AM
Have been cycling with paid (premium) Strava over a year here are what needs improvement. 1. Generation of Beacon Texts. Overall way too slow and often have wait before I can start my ride as it just hangs and have to restart the app. Especially inconvenient when riding in winter and have to take gloves off to deal with this. 2. Would prefer an easy way to save and select different beacon text groups. So I can quickly get going and have a minimum amount of time to get notifications out. 3. Would like some privacy options that track and log your entire route but when sharing to the larger outside world (not friends and family) omit the first and last parts of the route for privacy.
CindyCisneros's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/28/18 4:06 AM
I used to really like this app. I use it for running & biking. The best thing about this app is that it continues to record even when the signal is weak or there is no signal. I’m disappointed with the app however because it won’t upload my activity. My activity shows as “Pending Upload”. I’ve tried several times to upload, but it never does. I was using this app to measure my progress, but without uploading my activity there is no way to track it now. Disappointed :(

Dwm206's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/28/18 1:07 PM
This kind of drives me nuts. When you are looking at an individual activity there should be a previous and next button so u don’t have to go back to the feed. When I’m looking at only my activities in my feed and I look at one of my rides the previous and next should only sequence through my rides. When I start from the general feed and look at one ride previous and next should sequence through the individual rides from the general feed
amym2410's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/28/18 12:14 PM
Now both running and biking routes just don’t record until the middle of the run/ride. The app stops in the middle of bike rides. I’ve tried turning “pause when stopped”off and on but the only difference is the clock continues. The miles are still short at the end and gps is all over the place.

My I watch interface works very well with the newest updates. My I phone works flawlessly. It interfaces with My Fitness pall and my weight scale. I have used this product for years and only have one request. I dont know how hard it would be, but could you please rotate the screen when using horizontally. This would be especially helpful when using my IPad with keyboard. I would not have to lay my head sideways to watch the screen. Otherwise, this is a great product. Thank you for your excellent work.

I’ve opened support tickets, tried to open the app 20 minutes early to acquire signal, and tLoed with support, but this app hasn’t tracked run distance properly for months. It worked perfectly until then. Strava is going downhill and their app has started introducing regressions rather than better performance and functionality. Avoid.

Ok Strava peeps - you surely know this. The functionality of the app itself is great. No issues. BUT - when using it, even on my brand new iPhone 8, the app seems to soak up all the available CPU resources on the device. Editing an activity, for example, seems to bring the device to its knees. Yes yes I can hear you now - close all other apps, blah blah - I know all that. Bottom line, ya gotta streamline the thing, or do SOME work on the app so it doesn’t hog all the available device resources. Good luck! 👍🏻

CrumpyLady's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/26/18 11:28 PM
I’ve been using this app for a couple years now. Haven’t had one issue...until now. My last two runs it doesn’t connect to satellite perhaps? I don’t know, but it sure doesn’t take me 34 minutes to run 1 mile and I’m not running through fields. The GPS is all jacked up and its really frustrating. Good thing I have a Garmin for back up. Maybe fix the problem before I give up on the app. **UPDATE** It’s been over 6 months since I wrote this review. Shortly after I wrote it I linked my Garmin to Strava and solely began using Garmin to track my runs, because I couldn’t rely on Strava to do it. A couple weeks ago I went out of town and forgot my Garmin. I thought I’d try Strava to track my long run that week and see if the issues had been fixed. Unfortunately, it did the same thing. Somewhere it loses me, and my run that I know from past experience is almost 8 miles, clocked in under 6. So disappointing. I don’t understand why it suddenly changed at the beginning of the year. But I sure wish you guys could fix it. I know several people who have this same issue, so I know it’s not just me or my phone.

I’m a premium subscriber and I cycle 3 to 4 times a week but I never run, I hate that my statistics always show 0km until I go inside and move to the cycling tab. It would be nice if you could add an option to customize the sports that show on the profile tab or to at least choose the default one, in my case make the default cycling instead of running. It would also be nice if you could bring the cropping feature from the website over to the app. A separate Strava beacon app instead of a website based option would also be cool for those who just want to view your location when you’re out cycling or whatever.

I’m getting ready to sell my Apple Watch. Over a year and it is still borked. I press start on my phone and the watch app just sits there like a muppet on a rock. It used to display information about my run and allow me to finish the run on my phone from the watch. It also used to collect heart rate. Now the watch app is some garbage that doesn’t work. Get a grip Strava, there is a massive thread about this on your site. Why oh why do I pay to be a premium member?

I was going on a cycling tour( still am on one)and wanted to track it and I came across this app, and thought right on just what I wanted... Well it wasn't what expected as it wanted me to sign in and put in my my credit card. So I exited the app and deleted it. Next thing I know my card had been charged. 7.99 put me in the negative ( so that's an extra 30 bucks for bank over draft fees) and when on a bicycling tour I only keep enough in the account to cover my bills.
hank-the-bank's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/24/18 10:19 PM
No goal distance, goal time functions when recording workouts. No way to track sprint workouts. No planning functions like Nike run club No swim workout tracking on Apple Watch. I wanted to like the app because of the social aspect and the tri sport tracking but I still find myself running with Nike run because of the running plans and goal distance feedback. And swimming with workout on the Apple Watch because this has no functionality despite the Apple Watch 2 being out for quite some time.
Peyton Blume's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/23/18 6:37 PM
I have an Apple Watch that I run the workouts on. When I start the workout on both devices it works just fine. When I’m done though, strava will automatically override the Apple workout, and is Inaccurate in the amount of calories I burn, heart rate, etc. when I go to delete the workout from strava the results go back to normal, syncing from the Apple workout. When I launch the app again though (the strava app) in reinstalls the workouts, rendering my stats inaccurate... again. It’s overall just a very frustrating app, and will be going to something else.

AZViking24's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/23/18 3:21 PM
I’m still relatively new to mountain biking. Been riding for 3 years now, but mostly at a beginner level, as I typically don’t ride enough to qualify myself as an intermediate rider. Without fact-checking, I’d say I average 6-8 rides per year, although I recently set a goal to ride at least once every weekend (tomorrow will be 5 in a row). What I do know is that every single person I ride with uses Strava, including some very experienced riders. Some use GPS watches and upload their rides when they get home, and some, like me, use the cell phone app. If you’ve got the latest Apple Watch like me, Strava can be used very conveniently without getting your phone out of your bag/pocket. The app offers a great way to track your mileage, speed, elevation, segments/trails ridden, personal record times, etc. - all with relative accuracy. Over the past few years, they have added hiking and a few other modes of travel, which I think is great (would love to see skiing and snowboarding eventually). The app is a great way to track your own rides, see what friends are doing, see who else is riding trails, and see how fast others are riding, to help set goals and even compete. You can upload ride photos directly into Strava. You can also set it up for several different bikes, if you’ve got more than one, unlike me. There are even challenges and clubs you can join, although I haven’t explored much of that feature. I use Strava, for free, for the very simple function of tracking my rides, and checking out what my friends are riding. The only thing I don’t think Strava provides, which I use Trailforks for, is finding available trails and trail systems in any area.

Somehow I got signed up for strata premium at 7.99/month plus tax. It was charging my iTunes account for 6 months without my knowledge and I never even used the app. I wasn’t even running!
ihategooglecalender's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/22/18 1:59 PM
I pay for this app and the last thing I want to see in my feed is ads for Wahoo or anything else. Please stop screwing with the app or you will loose me for sure.
Ex-almost user's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/21/18 8:46 PM
It feels more and more like Instagram after each update. This latest update discloses the watch I use. I feel like I’m spamming my friends with a Suunto ad every time I post. No one wants to see ads. I won’t do it to my friends even if you pay me. I have to keep all my activities private so no one will see that irritating ad. What’s the point of keeping my premium subscription now? Well, I canceled it. Way to screw things up.
jennevek's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/21/18 6:51 PM
The app on Android offers options for walking and hiking. Not so on Apple. We keep asking for an update so we too can have these options!!! Please update the APPLE APP!!! Especially for those of us who pay PREMIUM EACH MONTH!!!’

I use this with my fit but but I am not a runner so I can’t Get the miles with out running and I can’t run other then that I love it it has more features then my Fitbit app does so I use both if it would track my goal miles it would get 5 stars
GdeS's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/21/18 1:02 AM
I really like using Strava to track my rides and compete with friends. I wish the Apple Watch app would allow us to custom what we see. I’d like to have elevation gain as an option. The new Element Bolt thing on the feed is super annoying.
FrostByteVA's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/21/18 11:23 PM
I may not ride with a tablet, but it is definitely my device of choice to review rides and give kudos. So, no kudos to you. Also, if I can’t get heart rate from my swims, you can’t track stress and thus the only reason I’m currently a premium member goes away. Please, capture the hr I give to you so that I don’t have to cancel my premium membership.
Jojojapan82's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/20/18 3:50 PM
I’ve been using this app consistently for a few weeks now and am deleting it today. It does not keep accurate track of mileage during running. Some days I will have run 5 minutes and it tells me it’s been a mile, when I know I’m not that fast, other days I will have run 13 minutes and it tells me it’s been 0.1 miles when I know I’m not that slow! I wish it worked better, not sure why it doesn’t but I’m over it not helping me keep track of my miles.

Will Winn's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/2/18 4:28 PM
If it didn’t happen on strava, did it even happen? I use it for all my running. Good or bad runs, it all gets posted. The social aspect is a lot stronger than most other fitness apps I’ve seen. I wish there was a “trail” surface function though.
Pandabear723's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/2/18 2:28 AM
App is great for stats regardless of what I’m doing and ever since Apple Watch integration came out I’ve been more than happy with it. I hope in the future a feature will be added to set a pace while running so that if I deviate too much my phone or watch will notify me and I can adjust, just a thought!
HobartSanchez's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/2/18 11:52 PM
Why’d you remove the “following” from the leaderboards? One of the best parts of Strava is getting home and checking to see if you beat out your friend by 3s on that one climb you really hate. Put back the “following” tab.

I went from a Garmin and not sure if I like it for tracking my runs. Last run I did it shorted me by .5 mikes. Been using it for a while now. And still it’s auto pause doesn’t work well shortens the run.
misskris133's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/19/18 7:52 PM
One improvement for my safety contacts watching the Beacon text: they never know when I intentionally stop or pause my ride. I see and hear the app when I update my status but that never gets relayed to those who are watching me. I then have to go to my Beacon text and manually type in that I’m stopped or taking a break, etc. It would be nice if that info was automatically relayed to them.
Sir Apps alot's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/19/18 7:52 PM
Please have an elevation gain correction function in the settings on the app. Maybe even an “auto correction” option as well.
musicmachine2008's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/19/18 4:42 PM
When I complete a run using my Apple Watch series 3, it’ll say no motion was detected despite having tracked distance, speed etc during the run. The workaround I’ve found that works is to put my phone in airplane mode before I leave for the run (I don’t take my phone on the run). I’ve concluded there is a handoff bug between the watch and the phone.
Toddrun's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/19/18 4:36 PM
I have loved Strava. The stats, the tracking, the social part. I was so happy I became a premium member. But lately I’m so frustrated and need to find another way. On key Race days or training runs the app on my watch just shuts down mid-run and performs what looks to be an update. My time and mileage get corrupted and I no longer have accurate splits. Why? I’ve turned off automatic updates. Frustrated...
Luke Lucas's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/19/18 4:24 AM
I left a competing app over a year ago to join Strava, purely for the social aspect and in all regards there, it was a great move. The vast majority of my friends use Strava for their running and biking so it’s wonderful to have that added motivation. And for the most part, using Strava (as a premium subscriber) is pretty great. But the Apple Watch app continues to be plagued with issues that frustrate me to the point of considering revisiting that old service. - Constant, random notifications that there’s a new activity to upload when there *isn’t* a new activity to upload. And sometimes those notifications come at *horrid* times, like at the start of a new run. My brain panics and thinks something has gone wrong, but now, it’s just Strava telling me, for some reason, I have a new activity to upload 🙄 This isn’t so bad on an outdoor run when I’m in total control, but on an indoor treadmill run, it can be dangerously distracting. - Seemingly incorrect/impossible split times on some runs (there’s no way on a regular non-race day I run a 7:15 mile followed by a 8:10 mile— I know my body, and that’s not right) - Sometimes when tapping to finish/save a run, it somehow registers a new run to start and I never know what to do with that run. Do I just delete it? Did something from the actual run I just completed not register correctly? - Multiple “runs” registered in the Activity app. For example, when I returned this evening, there were *three* outdoor runs registered in the Activity app. All had the correct mileage & times, but only one had actual information regarding calorie burn; the other two had zero calories registered. After deleting the two seemingly incorrectly registered runs, I discovered that heart rate data in the “correct” run was missing. I’m not a developer, so I don’t fully comprehend how difficult it is to make these things work, but I know it’s hard work. Yet it’s incredibly frustrating, these many years in, to still be fighting what seem to be basic “growing pains” issues in the Watch app that should have been sorted out ages ago.

i was in the middle of a run when i realized i wasn’t getting my little “half a mile” “1 mile” updates. i then realized that it was timing me but it didn’t record anything else. this is NOT the first time this has happened to me. i’m deleting this app and i wouldn’t recommend getting it. won’t be redownloading until they fix these bugs. i wish i could give 0 stars.
A Guy Who Runs's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/19/18 12:45 PM
They hired a ****ing moron from Instagram as CEO and suddenly forgot how time works. User feedback about the feed changes has been universally negative and hundreds/thousands of premium (paying) customers have cancelled their subscriptions. Strava still refuses to fire the moron, fix the feed, and become usable again. Boycott Strava!

Very nice with one issue. Why is there still no way to have a week be Sunday to Saturday? The so it matches my other fitness apps. Monday to Sunday is just weird. Why not just give the option for either?
Gammon-King's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/19/18 11:48 AM
All my cycling buddies use Strava but why doesn’t Strava do voice updates for cycling and not just running? Under Armour’s app give voice updates for free while Strava’s paid app doesn’t do it at all. I might switch back just because of that.

The app is a wonderful hybrid of data collection and social media, I wish I had the option to have a dark mode though. It used to have a blacked out scheme and it was really nice. Now with all the white it’s blinding, if it had the option for dark/light mode it’d be a 5/5

This is a huge disappointment. Still no support for Siri in this app. Get it together!
Garry Stevens's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/15/18 12:27 AM
The app works, 90% of the tone. There's a serious issue with the push notifications and alerts generally, in that in you clock through the push notification, the app opens directly to the comment or activity, but doesn't clear the notification. You've gotta navigate back out and clock on the in-app alert icon. Just a poor programming issue for an established product to have.
PeterAuyeung's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/13/18 2:58 AM
The phone interface and app had been solid. However the watch is just confusing and not work well I ran 3miles loop and when pause and finished it said i have to discard it since no movement been detected I believe strava can do better than that
future DirecTV customer's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/13/18 2:40 PM
This review is for the Apple Watch app, the phone app is great. I do not use the Apple Watch app because it uses the Apple Watch heart rate monitor which is not accurate. I use a Bluetooth chest strap with the phone app that works very well. I understand Strava wanting a stand-alone app, but it also needs a mode where it only serves as a user interface for the phone app. Showing activity time, speed, distance, heart rate, current segment by name, +/- personal best time. Then I would use the watch app. Please provide this feature!
all fact up's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/13/18 1:27 PM
Good app for racking up miles. Here’s what I would like to see Strava: club only segments and rides. An in between level of private and public. It’d be an amazing feature for ‘training’ amongst your own squad
Rodiddydogalog's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/13/18 1:17 AM
I switched to Strava years back after Nike + broke their tracking reliability with a major update. Never regretted it until the last few months. Often while running my pace / distance shows as 0. The route will have big inaccuracies. What is reported as my pace / distance - and even time - will have large discrepancies between what shows before and after I upload. I have a reasonably good idea of what pace I’m making and I know what is being logged is wrong. I’ve been through the customer support process twice, but just get the same generic advice about updates, and gps resets. I’m on the latest os and app version - after performing the resets recommended (which included a device settings reset that wiped all my stored wifi passwords) the tracking worked once, then began misbehaving again. I don’t really want to switch to another new app, but unfortunately I’m not using this app just for its great photo sharing and social features - I need working tracking! I’m running in a park in the middle of Brooklyn - if the app doesn’t work there.. Where does it work?
rlyn85's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/13/18 11:14 PM
I like that it works with my Apple Watch and the activity app. BUT if I enter my previously logged runs from the Apple Watch workout app, then it adds them and sometimes twice into the activity app. Even if I delete them from the activity app it eventually shows back up therefore throwing off all of my workouts.
JTempo's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/12/18 6:15 AM
You can read all the good reviews. I agree with most of them! Occasionally though a feature you really like will just...disappear. Overnight! No change announcement. No response from support. Just gone. Like this week, indoor training sessions lost calorie counts. Even with heart and power meters. Last week there was a calorie count and now it's gone. Still there for outdoor rides! What does GPS add that the power and heart meters don't? Who knows. But strava sure isn't telling. Or the fitness graph...when your Mac heart rate changes (such as with age) or your training zones change (with FTP), it will retroactively recalculate your entire training history as if those have always been your numbers. So that really strenuous ride you did a year ago before all your sessions with a trainer? Suddenly Strava says you barely worked on it. Because you've always been this strong! Right? They even know it's an issue but it's just too much to add a "don't apply to previous activities" code step. But for the most part, it measures your current activities and it does encourage you to try harder. But for training guidance, perhaps use TrainingPeaks.
zsnow39's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/12/18 3:36 AM
I love the format of Strava and the ability to track my sports across platforms. I mainly use the Apple Watch app and it’s ALMOST better than the native Apple Watch Workout app. The best improvement that could be made would be a true multi sport mode for triathlon support. I would pay good money for a subscription to Strava Premium if this were available. Also, customizable watch face would be very handy. As a trail runner and triathlete, I love the audio cues and notifications. They really keep your eyes focused on the trail rather than the watch.

One feature it is missing is audio notification of time/pace at every mile.
Betterthingstobedoing's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/12/18 11:33 PM

Can you add miles back to the options for swimming? It’s a pain to a. Swim 2.5 miles, then b. Have to convert that to yards, then c. Scroll all the way to 4400 yds.
matthewdignan's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/11/18 7:42 PM
I love Strava but this app is so unstable it should use training wheels. Of all the apps on my phone none are as prone to hanging and crashing as this app. A good portion of the time when going into an activity to update any activity details (title, upload a picture, privacy settings, etc.) the app hangs for 20-30 seconds, often longer and then whole phone is frozen until the app crashes or I can finally kill the app. Each new update I hope it’s fixed but the crashes persist. It was enough to make we quit the paid tier and is getting annoying enough to consider just dropping the app altogether.
Crashdevil13's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/11/18 7:10 PM
Great app! But it would be great to be able able to see my or others KOMs listed on their profiles. Also, can we please get week/month rankings on segments on the mobile app?? As of now these things can only be done on the website.
Ricci a Bilotta's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/11/18 4:38 PM
I had a feeling that this would work. I use an old iPhone. I don’t get WiFi, except when I’m home. I didn’t think the gps would’ve able to keep track of where I went without WiFi. But there it was on the map! I was indeed surprised. Thanx!!
Javi1r's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/11/18 2:48 AM
The graphs are very simple. It lacks details about my exercise. It focus on segments rather than the activity. It does not sync multi-sport activities from Garmin. All the names and equipment is not sync correctly
MrAwesomePHL's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/11/18 1:52 PM
I was using app for a while and it worked great but all of a suddenly it no longer tracks miles nor speed while out cycling. I had to switch to map my ride, which luckily for me I had downloaded before some long distance training rides.
Daniel connors's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/11/18 1:29 PM
I use the app every day on my bicycle and love the beacon option for premium users. The photo option crashes every time I open photos to add them. The app needs the ability to add/create routes from the phone and the online version could be more user friendly for route creation. Willing to up my rating with some advancements and debugs in future versions.
TheRevenant's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/10/18 4:42 PM
Best app out there when it works. Unfortunately for the last 6-8 months it consistently freezes and has made it quite the nuisance. I have the most recent version of iOS on the iPhone 8 - so can’t imagine why it’s occurring.
Gphilly35's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/10/18 4:06 AM
Currently Strava does not add workouts like Strength Training to the mobile weekly totals. It only has bike, run and swim. Please include the other activities in the “time” weekly totals so users can see a true hours worked out each week. Perhaps add another label like “other” for a quick reference of hours spent outside of bike, run and swim.
KnightRiderNM's Review of StravaReviewed on 6/10/18 1:03 PM

I’ve been using Strava for a few years to record my bike rides, both for fitness and my commute. It’s very hot and humid where I live and this has a direct impact on my work out routine.

7272838191662$1&'s Review of StravaReviewed on 6/1/18 11:00 PM
This app is trash! It will record 1 out of 10 rides, and that 1 is usually missing sections and segments of your total ride. When you go for a ride, it will act like everything is fine, then when you’re done after some hard working miles, it will say you went 6 feet. I’ve tried a bunch of different tricks to try to get it to work and nothing. Glad I didn’t waste money on the paid version and feel bad for anyone who did. Get Runkeeper or something else that will actually gps and record your rides. Ps Strava’s support page for the known gps issues says try different things and let us know what works, pretty sweet I.T. work there Strava!
The Dude S's Review of StravaReviewed on 5/31/18 7:39 PM
I like the app to keep track of the miles I ride. I would suggest one serious improvement, one wishful modification, and have had one user issue. The serious improvement I’d like to see, is a more sensitive auto-pause mode. I see many race-oriented cyclists running through stop signs. I think Strava is contributing to this. If the pause feature worked better, cyclists could stop at stop signs and be penalized less. The issue I have is that my rides do not get saved frequently. I have an iphone 8+ with the latest software update. Sometimes I check my ride stats at the first stop, and there are none. Sometimes I try to end and save a ride, and an older ride I did pops up instead. Sometimes it looks like it’s saving a ride for me, but the upload simply fails. This always happens when I get home, and have an excellent internet connection. The wishful improvement I’d like to see is auto-record. I used to use “Moves” before i started using Strava. With that app, it records your rides the minute you leave the house. You don’t have to launch the app and start it. I often forget to start Strava, which results in me losing many miles. Thanks!
Aaron Macom's Review of StravaReviewed on 5/31/18 5:24 AM
I tried Strava a few years ago and didn’t love it. I’ve used several running apps over the years. The one I have used consistently over the last 4 years has been Runkeeper. I have a few friends on Strava and I thought I’d try it again because I like the social aspect of sharing with friends. Strava has a lot of nice data and it seems that their paid service revolves more around training plans rather than focused on just giving you more data. This makes sense to me. I really want to like this app! I use an Apple Watch but also carry my phone. The watch app starts up pretty fast so that’s a plus. My main issues with Strava is that I have to go to the website in order to add my shoes so I can track the mileage. This seems silly. I can’t find a reason for it. I don’t want extra steps to get the app set up I also have a big issue with the app not showing me two decimal places for mileage. This is beyond silly. It’s just dumb. Runner like stats. We don’t want to have to log on to the website to get info that should be available on the app. Isn’t the entire point of an application to be self contained? The app is good but be aware that setup will take you 10 extra minutes and that viewing stats will be something that you will have to set aside time to do AFTER your run.
Kdbaseball's Review of StravaReviewed on 5/31/18 1:33 AM
Love the app. Use it daily and have for years. I am a premium member. I’d like to see a filter on my activities so I could filter by distance and pace to see different runs. For example runs between 10-15 miles or between 7-7:15 pace. Also I think it would be cool to have a map page that has a pin on a world map with all the spots you logged a run. You could then click on the pin to see the activity. I believe the website has something like this but I rarely use the website. Thanks again for a wonderful app and the constant improvements.

Porshe 217's Review of StravaReviewed on 5/31/18 12:39 AM
Seems to pick and choose days it will work/not work. I know strava isn't the MOST accurate when it comes to tracking your time and miles. But when I pay for the premium I expect it to actually track my results. Instead I come back home only to realize that after 2 hours of riding it didn't record a single mile. You're honestly just better off getting a bike computer.
bateshy's Review of StravaReviewed on 5/31/18 12:18 PM
A recent issue has come up where at the end of a run/ride, the app on my Apple Watch says it can’t save the activity because it can’t detect movement so I have no choice but to discard (even though it has recorded properly for the duration of the workout)!! So incredibly frustrating! I love to track my workouts but can’t risk this happening!
whoopsiedoodle's Review of StravaReviewed on 5/31/18 11:32 PM
Start times are wrong. Every activity I do, whether directly using the app or syncing from Fitbit, is said to have started 5 hours (exactly) earlier. Update: Figured out why. It will only happen when HR data from Fitbit doesn’t sync. Strava and Fitbit never work to sync, but when it does this happens. I reconnect them, then I allow Strava health related permissions, but it doesn’t work.

This has been my go to app for fitness the last few years. I really love the different sections of trails for mountain biking and how it records times. The only thing that would make this review 5 stars, is to make an update that you can turn on/off voice of start and stops of each section. This way you can get the most accurate way to keep pushing until the section is over and see how fast you can ride that section.
mwgtt's Review of StravaReviewed on 5/28/18 1:38 PM
Loved this app at first. It was tracking well and I like the community aspect. The last few weeks though it won’t track my mileage - even if I wait for a strong gps signal. Sometimes it starts partway through my run and sometimes it never tracks distance. I’ve tried updating, restarting my phone, messing with the settings but nothing works. I might switch back to Runkeeper if this doesn’t get fixed ASAP

I have used this as s basic free app for years. I came back from a ride and saved my info. I put the phone in my pocket. Pull it a few minutes later to a screen thanking me for my $59 membership. Spent the next hour trying to undue it. Between Strava and Apple no simple way to unsubscribe. I think I need to burn my credit card and move to avoid paying. Shady business practices - we deserve better.

Good app except the whole point is to connect with your friends while using it. So why in the world is it so difficult to do so? To add a friend it requires you to add your whole contact list, but doesn’t sort them alphabetically or give you the ability to search through them. So I have 500+ contacts, am I supposed to scroll through all them to find the two I want to invite? Fix this.

I think that Strava is an awesome app whenever I remember to record my runs! When I forget it's not so awesome but for the most part it sure is! I'm so glad that the app exists! It is well worth Downloading it for your iPhone!

Have been using this for about a yr to track my rides, great basic functionality and does exactly what I need.
a8m8y.t's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
I use Strava app most days for runs. Once in a while, Strava will completely miscalculate my pace for 1-2 miles of my 6-8 mi runs, which is really annoying. I wish there was a way to edit your data before saving. Also wish you could set the feed to most recent. Not sure which formula they decide to use to show you your friends’ activities.
GreyingSand's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
The performance of the GPS and auto pause both on the iPhone app and watch are quite nice. However there are few issues that have me continuing to use iSmoothRun, namely the fact that there is virtually no customization of audio cues or the display on the watch is quite frustrating. Also, there is no support for Bluetooth paired earpieces. Running 6 to 7 times per week I am looking for a more than a way to compete with others after my run but to improve each individual run having better control would be so helpful.

I’m constantly switching what bike I ride, is there a way I can switch the bike I’m using on a particular day using my cell phone rather than going onto the computer and doing it?
lcwalsh97's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
Using Strava for continuous runs on the Apple Watch is incredible (although for track workouts I’d rather use my Timex). GPS locks instantly, all the right metrics are displayed, and Auto-Pause works better than in the default Fitness app. If only the distance was displayed to 2 digits past the decimal point (3.1 vs 3.12) I would be completely satisfied. Otherwise, hands-down the best available running app on Apple Watch.

Love the app! Just worried that you’ll let the engineers sign updates again. Don’t let that happen! #bantimmikofrommyappstorefeed

Why would you make the default “everyone” who can see your activities. It negates your privacy settings. SO disappointing.
NikonMatt's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
The app is good but it would be nice to have the ability to customize the recording screen like all other apps allow you to (cadence, HR, etc). The app should also offer Mirroring on the Apple Watch and iPhone.

Good, was better before they changed the post algorithm.

Strava is the best social fitness app and is always being being developed and improved. The segments are great motivation to push yourself!

Hi Strava Product Management and Dev Team, Please add cadence. Apple Watch’s workout app has it already. I’m paying premium/summit package to have a more robust workout (running) data, but yet it doesn’t display live cadence and an overall average cadence after my runs....

I’ve been using this for several years and it’s changed cycling for me. I would like it more if you could put the speed analysis over the elevation so it’s easier to see speed change. Thanks for Good work

Strava is great and has become an important part of life. Love that they continue to improve it.
NicoleO525's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
I moved to Strava from Nike Run Club and it’s been wonderful. It’s great to have a reliable app whether I’m using the app on my iPhone or Apple Watch. The data on each run or workout is very detailed which I love. This app would be perfect for me if there was a more detailed Apple Watch complication. To be exact, I would love to see my monthly milage on my Apple Watch face. Nonetheless, an amazing app.

Great for tracking various workouts. Have not tried the pay version. Wish they would add martial arts to list of activities.
Zipczyk's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
A few days ago I went for a 2-hour hike, then got into my car and drove home. Only then did I remember that I’d forgotten to stop Strava. After I “stopped” it, I saw on the map the line from where I ended the hike to my house 2mi away. However... After I “finished” and uploaded my hike, I saw the map now showed my activity only up to when I stopped walking and started driving - Strava must have automatically ended the ride for me when it detected my driving (even though it’s a narrow twisty road where I can only drive 25mph). Thank you Strava!!
aa5683's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
Power meter data is inaccurate. Has to be a way to accurately import data from Garmin connect with actual power meter connected. Readings are more than 10-15 watts off average. Other than that, Strava has become a very effective training tool. Thanks!
Cam FitzDavid's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
I would normally give Strava 4 or 5 stars: it’s a good app to track walking/hiking, runs, and cycling. The segment feature is actually interesting and useful to track performance along various parts of a route, and it may inspire some friendly competition or help set a goal. The interface is easy to use, though swapping from the stats view to the map can happen accidentally. But with the latest update, once you finish recording an activity, it immediately uploads it. The screen where you can title, add comments, and change who can view now has to be accessed by editing the activity. I don’t appreciate being required to hop through extra screens to title my activities and add comments. If there were a way to instruct Strava on how to title something, it would be a little more bearable. But lacking that feature, it’s quite irritating.
Blah blah blah 586527's Review of StravaReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
The app itself is fine and it does its job, however I expect more out of the Apple Watch app. It needs more audible alerts available and to be able to setup things like interval training. I don’t want to run with my phone.

Please go back to chronological order on the feed. I don’t wanna log on and see rides from 2 weeks ago.
