Zoe Rayne's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/9/18 10:38 PM
I’ve been using this app for years, and they keep making it better. My only complaint (as someone who works variable late shifts) is that sometimes when I adjust the wake-up time, I miss that the am/pm indicator does/doesn’t move and so I end up with, for example, an alarm set to wake me between 11:30pm and 12:00am instead of what I want, which is “before noon.” I know they removed the annoying “are you sure you mean 12:00pm?” warning (and thank you for that!), but I wish they’d replace it with one to make sure you intend to set an alarm more than 12 hours in the future. That should solve my problem without causing annoyance to anyone else. :-) It could even be an option that could be toggled on/off.

Only 3 days in, but I'm totally convinced its tracking accurately, and it cancels out my fan noise. Feels less jarring to wake up at the top of your sleep cycle. Great graphs and trends.
mikeporterinnmd's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/5/18 4:20 AM
In a sneaky move, the latest update removes Snore no more. And it’s not easy to load an old version of an app if you are up to date on macos. Other than this move, the app works well. But I dislike sneaky corporate moves. I may cancel my premium subscription. Update: iWatch support is getting bad. I have to reboot watch at bed time once ever two weeks or so. Absurd.
hoots pogots's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/5/18 12:55 PM
It’s really good because it tracks how long you’ve been sleeping. And tracks how long you snore.
Coniferpine's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/5/18 12:44 PM
Used to LOVE this app but recently noted alarm didn’t go off. At first I thought I was so tired I forgot to set alarm but review of statistics shows the app shuts off alarm if I look at phone in middle of night!!! This MUST be fixed. People with animals, babies or just having to p** in the night still need the alarm! (Actually need it more since sleep is disrupted)
amato024's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/5/18 12:03 PM
I bought this app when it first came out a few years ago. It wasn’t cheap it was like $8 but it had all premium features. Then, a few months later they released it for free and made it subscription based for the premium features, and now if I want them I have to pay $30! This is insane. This is pure greed. I already paid for the app now they want me to pay again for the features that I already paid for. This is shameful
LadyFozzmere's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/4/18 8:42 AM
This app is so helpful! I suffer from insomnia and it helps so much that I can finally track how much sleep I’m getting. I also love the alarm and the snooze feature. This app is amazing and I think everyone should use it!!
Ozarksman417's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/4/18 2:00 AM
I absolutely love this app, but for some reason they won’t add external speaker support via Bluetooth. I’ve asked for this feature a few times and the last reply I got was “we’ll look into it when we get around to it. My wife and I like to listen to music when we go to bed and with my iPhone 7+ it’s easiest to listen via Bluetooth. Can’t do that and use sleep cycle. Kind of a big deal for me. I’ve tried plugging in my phone via the adapter jack, but it sounds like static sometimes. So? I’ve had to stop using it til the time they ever decide to allow people to play music via Bluetooth while using the app. I hope to eventually give this app 5 stars again.

jusyplayingaround's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/30/18 2:51 AM
Ok so I absolutely love this app! It wakes me up and I actually feel like getting up! The only downside is I have to have noise to fall alseep, and I use a separate app to listen to the noise. This app somehow captures every noise made with that one which makes it not able to track when I actually fall asleep. This causes the app to be useless.
Anonymous Lush's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/29/18 2:30 PM
I’m a longtime user of Sleep Cycle and overall, it’s been great. I do get those rare events that other users have mentioned where the app seems to crash overnight and the alarm doesn’t properly go off in the morning until I pick up my phone, if at all. Lucky for me, now I’m married to someone who always wakes up early and can be my backup alarm, but without him I’d have to use an actual second alarm. My main issue now is why on Earth hasn’t Sleep Cycle enabled using Apple Watch to track your sleep? It seemed like an obvious addition once they added the Watch app, but... nope. I’ve had to branch out to other apps that do, because for various reasons I can’t use the microphone and I’m sick of having my phone in bed with me. For continuity’s sake, I’d love it if Sleep Cycle added this functionality, and I just can’t figure out why they haven’t by now.
Vladicom's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/28/18 9:24 PM
App is great and you get a lot of functionality just for free. Of course there is sweet staff you get with monthly subscription, but even without it I’m happy with all data I’m getting and ability to set up a smart alarm. Interface is great and customer friendly. Love this app. Please keep adding features to this app and grow, I will never switch to other app unless this one will left really far behind with functionality.

Hello developer ! Have you checked other apps prices here in the app store ? I would feel mad if I spent 30$ on a sleeping app which is not the only nor the best one . Other sleeping apps has very reasonable prices and some of them have also better features !! It’s better to fix yourselves now before customers seal away. I just found I can buy an awesome sleeping app with premium features for lifetime for 4.99$ .. learn from them!
TheMercDeadpool's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/28/18 7:03 PM
Love this app. Has greatly improved my sleep. Not only is it great at waking you up at the right time, but it has tons of data that helps you visualize how you're sleeping and anything that may have influenced how you slept. Since it gives you an understanding, it helps you make decisions on how to improve your sleep. Knowing is half the battle after all. The only downside is that there's a feature that will record audio of your snoring if you snore. I was excited to try this. I've never been so disappointed that I don't snore.

I like the idea of all the features of this app, but the “intelligent” alarm always wakes me up when I’m in the deepest sleep (per the app) and leaves me waking up feeling awful, even on “100%” sleep quality nights. I’ve had better luck at waking feeling good with my normal alarm. Everything else is pretty cool.

I've been using it for years and have loved how user friendly it's been with various educational options regarding sleep. Unfortunately after updating it, they've decided that things which were free for years are suddenly "premium" and it's useless now. Absolutely the best alarm clock app out there! It helps you wake up and feel refreshed!!!!! Plus, my brother is in the room with me and he says this has never woken him up before. One thing that would be funny is if you add a way for the app to detect that you sleep talking and to record it when you do!!! Would be HILARIOUS!
VegasMel's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/15/18 2:38 PM
I updated my app recently to discover that my favorite features are now in the Premium category which costs $30 a year and used to be free. I guess that’s my punishment for being a long-time user. I’ll be finding a new sleep app.
canipleasejustsum's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/15/18 2:20 PM
Am I a morning person? No, absolutely not. Alas, I have a full twelve hour schedule that requires me to be up and ready pretty early in the morning but actually waking the h*** up? My body thinks that’s a hilarious concept. I’m naturally a very deep sleeper, but I’m also a night owl who prefers staying up late, so often times I’ll find myself in bed from anywhere between 10:30 pm - 12:00 am and then I’ll have to wake up at about 6:30 am so I can properly get ready for school and then work afterwards. As a college student with 17 credits it’s very hard to not be tired. I decided I needed something to help me wake up easier, since sleeping through alarms or waking up a bleary mess and falling back asleep was just not working for me. I gave this a shot as a last ditch attempt and what would you know? It worked. I just used this app once, last night at the time of writing this and boy am I satisfied. I didn’t think it would work on me to be entirely honest, but it did and I woke up feeling a lot better than I would’ve with an alarm jolting me awake. This alarm is gradual and soft and even when it’s time for you to wake up it doesn’t fee invasive and obnoxious. I’m looking forward to using it continuously!
Not of this world Tenshi's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/14/18 4:21 PM
This app has a good purpose but it’s ridiculous that you have to pay for most of the features. The only data it gives you is a graph of what sleep you were in. Trends and other data patterns are only available to subscribed users. How ridiculous is that? I already paid for this app, all of the features should be free.

I have used this app for years and it has served me very well. I purchased the premium version back in high school and I was grandfathered in since they moved to a monthly model. This app is very affective at making my feel awake and not groggy as I wake. Instead of hitting my snooze button every 10 minutes this app will try to get you awake by the time you wanted if not before. I have used this app for a very long time for a reason, it’s very much worth it!

RGX1's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/12/18 7:18 PM
UPDATE 9/12/18: I’m deducting another star because the accuracy continues to decline. I move around in bed a lot while I sleep, but the app often says I was awake when I wasn’t. I can usually count on the app short-changing me at least a half-hour every night, if not longer. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I’ve compared Sleep Cycle to other sleep tracking apps and Sleep Cycle has a big advantage over the others. With Sleep Cycle you don’t have to keep your device on the mattress. I used to do that and because I move around a lot I often knocked my iPhone onto the floor resulting in inaccurate readings. Because Sleep Cycle can use your device’s microphone it also can record snoring, and then you can play it back when you wake up. This recording feature would be very handy for people with sleep apnea. I took one star off my rating because there are some nights when it says I was awake when I really wasn’t. Or it will miss when I wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. These sort of things happen about once or twice a week.

ren the idiot's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/12/18 2:25 PM
I do this every night, and 50% of the time the app malfunctions and doesn't even wake me up. It keeps telling me to turn on the app so it can reset, but at 6 am when I'm obviously not awake to reset the app. When that happens, the alarm doesn't wake me up and I've almost missed important morning meetings multiple times because of this malfunction.
DiabolicalNess's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/12/18 1:42 PM

Jade Horal's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/11/18 5:55 AM
I sleep on a combination spring, wool and latex mattress and I wonder if that affects the results I got. I’ve had sleep issues long enough that I keep a stitch counter by my bed to track wakings. Both nights I tried this app it showed only three wakings but my counter showed 9 and 7 wakings respectively. And those are only the times I woke enough to hit the counter. It also woke me both mornings while I was mid dream. From sleep studies I’ve had done in sleep labs and at home I know I wake on average every 45 to 90 minutes most nights. It’s a fantastic idea and for people with generally good sleep architecture it probably works well. Also be ready to pay quite a bit for anything other than the basic features.
chloejamalkowski's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/11/18 4:43 AM
This app wakes you up with out feeling groggy. You feel more energized and it’s so worth it! Used for a few months and ahhhh!! But you do have to pay for premium to get the real defined things like tracking your data. But free for the basics and AMAZING otherwise. Totally recommend
str8 up bro's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 9/11/18 2:44 PM
I will say when cars and people are not around, the app works great! Just like it says it does BY DETECTING MY SOUND WHEN I SLEEP. However, I live next to a highway and my two siblings so the app always wakes me up as soon as it can. Which I would say is about 20-25 minutes before my desired time. To sum it all up, if you live around multiple noisy uncontrollable variables the app only works as an inconvenient alarm clock. Maybe the app works better with a smart watch to detect movement but I wouldn’t know because I don’t have one.

App works for me and gets the job done. And it actually tracks my sleep properly. This is a bit odd but I’m using a iPhone 8. And this is like the 5th time I’m noticing this, when I wake up on the morning the phone is really hot. And the battery stays on 80% while it’s plugged in. Any idea what causes these two issues?

I’ve been using this app for YEARS (857 nights, to be exact). It’s always been my favorite, I even pay for the premium version. But lately, it’s been going off 2 hours later than I set it for. The first time it happened I thought I was losing my mind and had done something to it in my sleep, but it happened again today and I overslept for my morning workout with my friends. One of the best parts of this alarm for me is that it only lets me hit snooze so many times before it won’t let me anymore, and forces me to get up. I hope these issues get resolved soon because this is a deal breaker, obviously. You have one job! Wake me up when I tell you to!

Gamer4life 5's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/7/18 8:58 AM
I’ve been using this app for a few months and have loved it. Waking up in the morning is very difficult for me as I tend to sleep though every alarm I set, this alarm helped to virtually erase that problem! That being said, I do think there is a bug or two to be worked out. A couple of hours ago I set my alarm on sleep cycle to wake me up at 7:30 am, like usual, but at 1:30 am the alarm started going off. Not only was it going off at the completely wrong time, but the sound for the alarm wasn’t the one that I usually use at all. I honestly do like this app quite a lot, but have deleted it because of this issue. It may have been a fluke, however I cannot risk the chance of it happening again because of my strict work schedule. If the problem were resolved I would be more likely to re-download the app and continue to use it.

babylemke's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/7/18 11:58 AM
I absolutely love the ease of using this app, as well as being able to view all the cool data about my sleep. There are two things I do not like, though, that I think need to be fixed. 1) The app considers “in bed” all the time between when you start it, and when you physically stop it. I am a mom, and I jump out of bed and hit the road running in the morning. Most the time I forget to lean over and stop the Sleep Cycle app. I just don’t pick up my phone when I wake up. So the application considers “in bed“ any time that the app is running. So if it takes me an hour and a half to remember to turn off the app, my time is skewed because the app will say I was in bed the entire time. I’d like to be able to adjust that time to stop when I physically wake up. 2) I love the White Noise option that is available in the app! However, it only runs for 90 minutes max. There is no option to let it run continuously all night. Why not? I wake up when the White Noise stops. ☹️ so I have my Amazon Alexa play White Noise all night for me. Seems kind of silly I can’t get this app to do it for me.
Zyquan's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/6/18 5:25 PM
Did the free trial for a few months. Was surprised how well it worked. Very clever. Can’t say my sleep quality has gone up, but I like tracking how long I sleep and my sleep quality. I think I have found the perfect combination of alarm clocks. I always set Sleep Cycle to be my first alarm, and another app called SpinMe Alarm Clock as my backup. Sleep Cycle usually wakes me up in my optimal wake up time, but sometimes it just isn’t enough for me and I’ll either snooze through it or turn it off and go back to bed. If Sleep Cycle fails to wake me up, my backup alarm SpinMe will start blaring which can only be turned off if I get out of bed and spin around a couple times before it finally shuts off! Crazy but it works and I haven’t been late to work since I started doing this routine. And no you can't just spin the phone around in your hand! Sleep Cycle really does help in waking you up during your light sleep. I can feel it working most mornings. And I have studied the science behind sleep so I can attest that the premise of this app isn’t merely a placebo, but something that has actually been proven. However the problem that this alarm clock doesn’t solve is that sometimes (especially on nights where you get very little sleep), it can be really easy to ignore your alarm clock and really hard to wake up. That’s where SpinMe Alarm comes in, an alarm clock that is impossible to ignore and forces you out of bed. I highly recommend using these 2 alarms together. Best few dollars I’ve ever spent!!

For years we tried various things to get my seven-year-old up especially on school days. She slept through various alarms blaring at her. When we would physically wake her up, she was very grumpy and would often scream and cry in the mornings. I came across this app decided to give it a try. We have been using it now for a week and a half. Every morning she wakes up without us and is in a good mood. This makes our mornings so much smoother!!! I am so thankful for this app. The only down side is I have been using my phone to try out this app so I am currently phoneless is the evenings.

After a long while I just learn to wake up on my own but recently I have been having a hard time getting up as early as I would like (5:30/6:00) and I found this app it’s a great app It never wakes me up from a deep sleep. The regular alarm always give me anxiety and put me in a bad mood. Its like been awaken up by a loud screaming/strange sound. This app has a smooth sound and never wake me up from a deep sleep. I confess to disbelief it could actually track my sleep without been on me but it does! Even though my husband is by me it tracks my sleep. Love it, love it, love it! Its only not 5 start because I wish to have the option to choose the alarm time based on the amount of hours I wish to sleep so for days I do not need to wake a certain time but wish to sleep 8 hours regardless of the time I slept. Still the best alarm ever!!!!

I do actually notice a difference of being less tired when I use this alarm instead of a regular one!
AmyZimm's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/30/18 2:27 AM
I like that the app has the half hour window, but have found that it picks up my spouse’s sleep sounds in addition to mine, including his snoring. So the sleep quality rating isn’t measuring just me. Not sure how to fix this, but I’ll be sticking with the free version for the alarm and not paying for analysis that isn’t quite accurate.
cube-b's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/30/18 1:07 PM
I use this app mainly as an alarm clock. The science isn’t really there to support its claims about sleep cycles, and it does a poor job of tracking them anyway. But it works OK as an alarm. But I’m so tired of its endless solicitations to upgrade. The latest is “take a photo of food”—who asked for that. Basically this is an app a college student could have made, gussied up with nice graphics and bolted on “features” that have little use. I’ve stuck with it until now, but I’m done.

Sleep Cycle keeps telling me I’ve gotten 100%, 96% and 98% sleep quality even though I’ve tossed and turned every night for the past week. I wake up irritable and exhausted but am somehow managing 90%+ sleep quality?!
momontheside's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/3/18 2:11 AM
I know this is doing good things for my sleep. All the tracking helps me improve sleep because I can see time trends and adjust my sleep/wake times to be more optimal. I love that it vibrates my watch so my man doesn’t have to wake up at my s***** early hour. PLEASE make it sync with Period Tracker (and other trackers) so women can see how their cycles affect sleep!!! That would be the final detail needed! I’d also like to understand how to make sense of the stats on increased/decreased sleep quality, weather, air pressure, moon, activity, and heart rate. It would be helpful to click on each one to get info on what it means and how to understand the graph, as well as what percentage really matters when it comes to affecting sleep: I wouldn’t think 1% matters much, or even 4% but providing information from a sleep specialist about how a 4% change affects sleep would be helpful. Thanks for this app. I really love it overall.

I can’t sleep, while having this app on. The fact of being conscious of having this app monitoring every single sound I make freaks me out. And I became even more aware wear of the surrounding sounds. Worries of the other sounds will disturb this app.
Kracka lohsious's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/28/18 6:14 AM
It’s scary how accurate this app is. I get to hear how bad my snoring is each night. And I’m starting to learn trends on what gives me better or worse sleep. I set a 30 min window and it always wakes me up softly when I am at my most awake state. So far zero complaints about this app! I have sleep apnea and mild insomnia and I was hoping this app would help me improve my sleeping habits and so far it has been improving.

A great app, however the snooze feature started snoozing the alarm automatically without my touching it. I overslept several times. The company says they're aware of the issue but there is no solution yet. I recommend waiting until this bug is fixed.
Alley Ray's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/26/18 2:45 PM
Wakes me up at 3am no matter what. How does that improve my sleep?? Then I have to shut the app off in the middle of the night, which turns my alarm off and I end up sleeping in.
Malardzun's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/26/18 2:27 AM
I love the app—even though I am quite certain it cannot be exact, it does get quite close to the actual statistics, that coming from when I wake up in the middle of the night and read my clock. Unfortunately, I cannot use the thirty-minute window and must instead use a fifteen-minute window, but it still does the job and does as is advertised. However, even though it is a very useful app, there is one problem: if there is a person you are sleeping by (e.g. an 8 year-old brother about two and-a-half yards away), he/she can be woken up easily by your alarm. What I suggest is that the rate at which the volume of the alarm ascends may be adjustable, so the sleeper can be woken up and turn off the alarm before the other person is affected, and perhaps also the option of maximum volume, the time the system waits to override it, etc. (if Northcube even understands what I mean by that last bit). Thank you for a useful sleep app, ~Malardzun

Please allow the alarm volume and start time to be altered. For example, if I select a song to wake me up in the morning, it would be great to have that song start at the beginning and NOT get louder the longer I delay it. Would love help with this!

Charleynaye's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/24/18 3:36 PM
I feel like it does a great job of monitoring my sleep. Even if I lay in the bed for hours before falling asleep, it seems to figure out when I am actually sleeping. I love the alarm so much. I like that it wakes you during lighter sleep when possible. The only con I know of is that sometimes there are clips of “me” snoring, but upon listening to it, it’s most definitely my husband lol. 🤦🏼♀️

As long as the app can help me get up supper early for work and school I’m satisfied with the free version. I don't write reviews on anything but this app is really nice. The default Apple alarm sound honestly gives me anxiety and just makes me annoyed to wake up in the morning. The sounds to choose from are so relaxing and refreshing in a way. And it gradually gets louder as the time gets closer. I probably wouldn’t recommend for heavy sleepers because the noise is light but I’ve never had any troubles sleeping through an alarm and I’d consider myself a moderate sleeper. But yeah super cool app and it tracks your sleep pattern so that’s cool too.
K_Geezy's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/22/18 3:40 AM
I have used this app for about 6 years now. It got me through many nights in college and helped me prioritize my sleep and health. I’ve encouraged most people in my life to download it, & I love it so much!! There have been nights that my phone came unplugged and this app woke me up to let me know that my phone would be dead soon.... saving me from waking up late! My ONLY complaint is that there is no longer an “all night” option for the sleep aid sounds. Is there any chance it could come back?? Now I use a separate noise app along side it... (first world problem here) but really if there’s any shot of bringing back that all night option.... I’d be so grateful!!! Thanks for helping me sleep at night 🤗

Melissa Cameron's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/22/18 11:43 AM
So this app is pretty smart with the way it wakes up, the tracking is pretty accurate. What I dont like is the " low battery warning" alarm ya'll felt like you should add to it? I got woken up hours before I needed to and couldnt fall back to sleep because my charger got knocked off. I have a backup alarm set and I wouldve woken up naturally before I needed to if my phone did totally die and no alarm went off. That should be something I have to agree to put on not just a default. Seriously a day ruiner. I honestly dont want to use the app really anymore since I realize how bad for my battery it probably is running so hard all night while being charged all night as well. Really disappointed.
Kevy G Music's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/22/18 11:16 PM
This app is changing my life slowly but surely as I’ve been finding it extremely challenging to wake up at a good morning for many years. Even though I’m getting into a better routine, I still sometimes find it a challenge to fall asleep at night. I put my Sleep Cycle on because I don’t want to look at my phone again because of the blue light keeping me awake but I thought I could edit the “Sleep Cycle” by deleting it. This app only allows you to edit the day in which it only provides you to delete all the data of the entire day and not a selected incorrect sleep cycle. Lastly, everything about this app is a life changer except for the expensive price point of $29.99/year to backup your data. Many apps allow for free backups however this additional subscription, after the already purchased premium subscription, leaves a distinct flourless taste in my mouth.
Iblondify's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/21/18 2:51 AM
I’ve been using this app since the beginning. Sometimes I fade out from using it, but I always come back. This app doesn’t make getting up in the morning wonderful, but it makes it wildly easier. The alarm is not jarring and it wakes you up a lot more gently. I think it pretty accurately tracks your movement. Is it 100% perfect? No smartphone app is. But overall, it gives you a great review of how you slept. I also think it’s hysterical how it records your snoring. I never knew I snored up until getting this app 😂😂
KyBorn1930's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/21/18 11:31 PM
Here’s how. At your bedside table stare at a digital clock while attempting to go to sleep. As the digital numbers advance attempt to recall the last hour/minute . Wake up without an alarm or a phone or another voice. Write down the time. subtract last night’s recalled time. Convert the difference into minutes. Divide by 90 . Using the quotient... get a whole number. Now divide the minutes by the whole number. That’s a good estimate of your sleep cycle. Do this exercise at least 8 times. In the end you should know your sleep cycle. When sleeping always try to sleep complete cycles and never interrupted cycles. If you interrupt a cycle you’ll be tired all day. You may even need a nap. Now guys, knowing your sleep cycle do you really believe this app is worth $30 a year? I found the app frivolous.

Lorgeg's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/20/18 9:39 PM
I downloaded this app on my first day of school. i have to get up at around 5/5:30. My app wakes me up around 5:27 every morning and i always feel so well rested. i always have enough time to do everything i need so do as well. I used to not be a morning person, and I would always have to be pried out of bed. I mean, who wants to wake up in mornings? not me! I still dont like getting up in the mornings, but who does? any occasion where i have to get out of bed is horrible. anyways, i learned about this app from a youtube video and i decided to try it out. it works amazing! it even tracks my sleep (when im awake, in deep sleep, and in light sleep)! i know it’s accurate because if i wake up in the middle of the night, check my clock (not my phone, my clock) and it says 1 am, i can go on the app the next morning and it will say i was awake at 1 am. i find it super interesting how i sleep. this app will also tell you the quality of your sleep. (mine’s around 65, guess that’s why im always tired lol) it will also tell you exactly how much sleep you got each night. sadly, without any costs, you can not record this data without screenshots, or manually logging it. it doesnt track it over extended numbers of nights without costs, which im not complaining about what-so-ever because this app is amazing with or without.

I quit using this app about a month or so ago, I loved that it worked amazingly but even if my phone was plugged in to my charger, the battery drained or didn’t charge. Because of it my battery’s maximum capability percent went down. After I stopped using it my phone went back to normal. I prefer to use the native bedside feature even if sleep just shows as “in bed”.

Coalspier's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/2/18 5:27 PM
I’ve tried this multiple times, and the app always helps me wake up smoothly - no jolting awake to the sudden sound of an alarm ringtone. The music is beautiful, and the settings are usefully adjustable. However, using the app drains my phone’s battery in the extreme every night without a charger, so I find that very inconvenient.
johnroyal's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/2/18 4:32 PM
This app helped me get to sleep by the sounds that they have in the sleep aids. This also helped me get up in time because I made it play my favorite song for my alarm. I totally recommend this.
CoprAnon's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/2/18 3:24 AM
I’ve been using this app for almost 2 years and really like it. However, I recently got Air Pods and Sleep Cycle interferes with the Air Pods. Wired eat buds and Sleep Cycle work fine if you listen to something to fall asleep. With Sleep Cycle armed, the Air Pods won’t work (audio will only play thru phone speakers and not thru Air Pods). Your choice is either wired ear buds and Sleep Cycle or Air Pods, but no Sleep Cycle. I’ve tried everything to get both to work together and it’s a no go. :-( Otherwise, I’m a fan of Sleep Cycle. Please fix this disconnect/incompatibility. Thank you.

This app is GREAT! But they removed the feature that was most helpful to me; the snore-stopper feature for the accompanying watch app. The snore-stopper will gently “tap” you with the watch haptic feature; you don’t even wake up but you adjust your sleeping position and stop snoring. This feature revolutionized my sleep until they removed the feature! My sleep is c*** now. Please bring it back and I’ll change my review.

AutumnGray's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 8/13/18 5:40 PM
I've tried all of the alarm-based-on-sleep-phase apps. This one actually works, and has an okay Apple Watch app (which I don't use because I charge my watch every other night, and I don't really have a need for the watch app). The main reason I substracted 2 stars is because when the alarm is set and on, it DISABLES my Bluetooth headset, so I am unable to listen to audiobooks or guided meditations unless I completely disable this app. So basically, I have to completely wake up after getting myself drowsy enough to sleep in order to turn this app on and set the alarm. Huge issue for me. Otherwise, this is a 5 star app.

Alarm sounds are great for waking up (even if in a deep sleep). The morning sleep report is cool and seems pretty accurate. I use it every night
AndyB555's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/30/18 12:10 AM
This app single-handedly help me track my sleep, improve my sleep quality and helps me strive for sleep excellence. No joke, it uses technology to make sure it wakes me up outside of a deep sleep cycle which seems to always peacefully wake me up.

I have used this awhile but once in awhile it sounds the alarm as much as 20 minutes early and that's annoying. I may look for a different alarm program.
JP Mears's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/29/18 7:29 AM
The app is fantastic and gives you a full look at the quality of your sleep and offers awesome sleep quality insights over time. However, it would be nice to have better integration into the health app so that it can show more detailed sleep quality information side by side with the rest of your health data, but I understand that probably requires an iOS update.

App keeps crashing after the latest update. Will not start. Tried to offload and reload - but it didn’t work. Told by customer support that the only way to get it work again is to delete the app and then install again - but that means I will lose all of the data. Please release a new version ASAP to fix the crash!!!

I’ve been using this app for what seems like 3 or 4 years now, but recently the alarm has started to turn off in the middle of the night and not go off in the morning. However, I still get a notification saying “Goodmorning!” from the app at the time I set the alarm, but no alarm noise to go with it. Very disappointed that I have to change apps after all these years.
dyan007's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/29/18 1:28 PM
Hard to say how accurate it is given I’m asleep, but it seems legit. Another sleep app decided I was up for the day when I was up with my baby. I like that this app uses the alarm as a means of you confirming that you’re up for the day. This has obviously peaks when I’m up with baby, Little half asleep squiggles when I dozed off in the rocking chair with the baby and nice deep lows between. I’m not sure how the sleep quality grade is calculated though—I got a higher grade recently for a night I was up more often with the baby than the day before where I almost got to sleep through the night. Anyway, it seems to work as promised without bugs, but I think the price for full service is too high. I would pay for complete reporting and the integration with their life cycle app, but not as much as they’re asking. Simply reviewing the free data and making my own assessment is good enough and not too difficult so I just don’t see paying $30 for a subscription. I appreciate that developers aren’t writing apps for free, but they’d have more subscribers at a lower price point.

I got sleep cycle a while ago excited because hated waking up for school and needed a new alarm. I got it And was imoressed With how well it worked. But lately, it only will wake me up like a minute before the alarm is supposed to go off so it is not Helping me anymore. And moat of the capabilities are premium only andni Can't use them!!!

Of all the terrible ways there is to be woken up... this one is the least bad in my experience, it at least tries to accommodate my REM cycles!
thesamblank's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/28/18 4:34 AM
Absolutely adore this app. I've been doing all too many workarounds to simplify my sleep tracking while waking up with my Hue lights as well. One thing that would truly complete it for me is an option to keep the watch from being able to turn off the alarm. I love the vibration alarm and snoozing, but it's too easy to disable it in my sleepiness from my wrist. Make me stand up and turn it off from my phone :)
CDWteach's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/28/18 2:35 PM
The app was okay in terms of what it tracked, but it used way too much battery from my Apple Watch to run (Generation 3). I even tried charging it before going to bed so that it would be at 100%. When I’d wake up it was always below 40% and didn’t have enough battery power to make it through work the next day. (Without using this app my battery on my watch can go two days without charging.) I only used the free version so I can’t speak to all of the features, but I’m glad there was a free trial. I’d have been really disappointed if I had paid for it. I downloaded another sleep tracking app and used it last night to verify that it wasn’t just all of the apps. After using my watch all day and not charging it I woke up to 48% battery life. It’s a shame, because this app had features that others didn’t that really interested me.
chewowman's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/28/18 11:48 PM
I don’t know how to explain this. After two weeks I’m trained to wake up when the app is about to wake me or if I don’t, I never hit snooze. This is a first. At age sixty, I’m getting 6.5-7.5 hrs sleep which has been unheard of since my late forties. I wish I’d have found this years ago. My wife is using it and doesn’t snore anymore.
shaken not rested's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/27/18 9:53 AM
I installed this on my Apple Watch. I have major issues with the hapticks. Set it the first time I used it to 5:00, it started vibrating at 4:00. Then because I wanted it to track my sleep but did not want it to vibrate at such an early hour, I tried changing it to 7:00. It started vibrating at 3:00. I finally had to turn it off. Can’t track my sleep accurately if it is vibrating at ungodly hours. Also it has a feature that prompt the watch to vibrate gently when you snore. I can not find where this feature can be turned off and it vibrates when my husband snores. Vibrated one night so often that I again had to turn it off so I could get some sleep.

bosh_adair's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/27/18 3:43 PM
The update to include Apple Watch causes the watch to loose battery life at an alarming rate. I have a series 3 and it will go from 100% to 50% in a single night. That’s more battery usage than an entire normal day of use for me. I’d love to give this 5 stars, but not until the battery issue is fixed.

Honestly I like this app. I think it does a really great job without glitching and it’s pretty accurate. However I hate how slowly every feature has become a premium required featured. I get that apps like this need some kind of income but seriously?? I used to be able to play music whenever I turned it on, listen to my snores etc. and now I can’t do any of that. Really annoying.
GreeneMan98's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/26/18 4:25 AM
It’s incredible. I don’t even make use of all the features, but every morning I check my statistics to see how well I slept. One improvement I would love to see: A “countdown” when you first set the alarm to let you know how much time you have until you wake up. It seems simple to implement but would be nice to know instead of doing the addition in my head. Awesome app, highly recommend! (Also, I’ve consistently woken up easier and less grumpy from this app.)

I downloaded this with the Curiosity of knowing what my sleep cycle may look like. After downloading, it worked awesome, it was waking me at times in the morning that I honestly felt much better! After about 100 days or so it has stopped analyzing my sleep and the graph looks completely flat lined as well as it wakes me up at the set time I give it every morning so something isn’t right even though I am still doing the same thing I was doing for the first 100 days.

Momazon's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/25/18 4:01 AM
When I originally got this, I thought it was doing a pretty good job. I’d been snoring and thought this might help me when I speak to my Doctor. But then, it started saying I wasn’t snoring at all. I know I am because I hear myself and my husband also hears me. Not sure what’s up but no longer works. Disappointing since I paid to get the full version.

I don’t write many reviews about anything, but this app is worth it. Often, I have trouble sleeping, but mostly waking up in the morning. This app makes it so easy for me to get a good nights’ sleep. I can add white noise before I sleep right on the app, and can customize how long I want it for. I can log my heartbeat and sync to my health app. I can hear my snoring, see when I was in what stage of sleep when. I can input determining factors that might indicate why I wasn’t getting proper sleep. I can log my mood in the morning. I mean, there’s just so many reasons why this app is wonderful.
GtrInLA's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/24/18 7:20 PM
The first thing we want to know is how many hours actually slept, not in bed which bizarrely isn’t easy to find out. You have to open Apple Health to get that info? #2, where’s the feature to wake you with iWatch? Some of us wear earplugs or don’t wish to wake our spouses.:( #3, life happens, sometimes we wake up, close the app, then go back to sleep for another hour or two... so we have to restart the app and begin a new sleep session, why not add a feature to combine the two sessions? Otherwise it looks like I’m going to bed at 4 am which skews the data. Other then that a solid 5 star.. but after the trial is over I’ll most likely cancel then try others to see if they offer these obvious features that should be included.

This app will bill you for their premium if you download it. Even if you don’t specifically say you want premium. I’d go with another similar app if I was going to do it again. 29.99 isn’t worth it when it says it’s free.

I really discovered a lot of new things about my sleep while using this app. I really recommend it! I personally don’t pay for this app. It means I don’t get to listen to my sleep. Eli_simy's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/24/18 3:26 PM
The first few night I used this i thought it worked great. Then I found some small bugs with it like not being able to have Bluetooth connections while the app is open. But last night I had started the app with lower battery on my phone and I thought well if it dies it’s no big deal. Well boy was I wrong. Apparently when your phone gets really low on battery with the app open it sets off an alarm so i was woken up at 2 am but managed to somehow shut the alarm off in my sleep and yet again the alarm went off at 3 am and I had to wake up and completely close the app. Sooo be cautious about that.
Laurenzzzzzzzzz's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/24/18 3:15 AM
I love the alarm clock portion of this app. I’ve been using it for years. However, I recently got an Apple Watch because I read about the snore stopper functionality. I’ve worn my watch using the app for the past 2 weeks and it has never alerted me to snoring using haptics. And yes, my partner has still been poking me to wake me up to tell me to stop snoring. Huge disappointment.
Paulkarroum's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/24/18 3:06 PM
There is only one thing I would add for the next update. For the sleep aid sounds a crackling fire would be perfect. Everything else about the app is perfect. I used it for about a year now and I love it. I don't use any other alarm clock. It's perfect. Update: Still an excellent app to use. Aside from an added sleep aid I think a better integration of the Apple Watch is key. I really like seeing percentages in REM, Deep Sleep etc. as well as seeing how often I’m “awake”. Many other apps give this feedback once I wake up and turn off the alarm. Plus making the watch play a tone as well for the alarm for us heavy sleepers would be nice!

This is my favorite sleep app by far but I do not see 30/yr in value. Between Pillow and Auto sleep I get the advantages of this single app for less than 10$ one time purchase. I’m using the trial and will not allow it to auto purchase once I get close to the expiration. I wish they would offer a 15$ one time license or something but.. it is what it is! Great app! Good jobs devs you made an amazing app! I can’t justify spending the money per year.
Concertnancer's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/23/18 4:06 PM
What happened to the heart monitor? Now when I wake up, the heart monitor flashes on for a split second, and it doesn’t actually read my current pulse. It then picks a number from my Apple Watch that I haven’t been wearing for hours during my sleep. I finally had enough with the goofy heart rates being logged into my Health app, and I turned off the heart monitor. Other than this problem, I really like the Sleep Cycle app. Please fix.

It’s very cool to see my sleep pattern. I wish it would calculate the amount of time in each sleep holding (ie deep sleep) so I know whether my time spent in there is average/more/less. I would definitely recommend!
TechKitten's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/22/18 6:24 AM
I’m giving this a substantially lower rating than my previous review because a recent update changed the behavior so that I’m forced to use an alarm now even though I don’t want to, worse it forces one to also use notifications as a ‘backup alarm, when all I really want to do is track how well (or not) I’m sleeping, which this used to do well. I do NOT need or use an alarm so this requirement means I’ll be deleting this formerly great app and start searching for a replacement.

Used this app for long time with no issues, but recently every time I set the phone on my nightstand right next to my bed as I used to it will record a flat line and miss any times I wake through the night. Only way it will actually record is if I put the phone under my pillow or something and it will then notice all the movement. Didn’t used to work this poorly, not sure what’s changed.

Big MC2's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/21/18 1:42 AM
I liked this app and actually paid the annual subscription after the trial period. I don’t know if it’s due to my phone or a recent update, but it doesn’t hear me moving and start the wake up process. I haven’t changed where I leave it by my bed. Also, it mutes my phone every morning after I wake up so I don’t hear any text messages or reminders. That didn’t happen in the past.
jScone's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/20/18 6:57 PM
There seems to be a bug that prevents/turns off wireless charging when the alarm is enabled. I’m not quite sure what exactly triggers it, but I can observe the phone stops charging when I enable the alarm while on the charging pad.
Woo loop's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/20/18 4:16 PM
The only downside and why it’s not receiving 5 stars is because the app is interrupted when someone calls. It’s been multiple times that I’ve received a late night phone call only to wake up and find that sleep cycle has shut off. This is an issue that needs resolved and thankfully hasn’t caused me to be late yet. I really wish it would automatically resume the cycle. Otherwise, I love this app. I’ve used it for over a year and a half. I used to be a habitual 12pm sleeper. I was unable to wake up earlier no matter what I tried. I had 20 alarms set each night when I was in the worst of it.
JustLoping's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/20/18 12:24 AM
I used this for a week, and it made the watch’s built-in heart rate monitor register unrealistic heart rates. I would get a notice at 3 a.m. that my heart rate was 122 - which it clearly was not. I would wake up and the “Move” ring on my watch would register 10,000 calories. So I quit using it and they charged me $29.99 anyway.

Unfortunately, you cannot contact them or submit a bug via the app, nor is there a link to any website. On iPhone X, when you turn off the alarm (not snooze), it silences your phone.
ShyOfLife's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/18/18 4:29 PM
I love this app. I don’t bother paying attention to the information it gathers on when I sleep since regardless of how well I do or don’t sleep it says my sleep quality is always between 50-75% even when one 50% night consists of a better nights sleep than the previous nights 75%. What this app gives that keeps me coming back is the gentle wake up call. It starts out low and slowly brings you from asleep to awake. I have NEVER overslept once after downloading this app. The only thing I don’t like about this app is that it won’t let me listen to music in the background. (I sleep better if I can fall asleep listening to certain music or sounds) I have another app that shuts down after a specific period of time so that the music isn’t playing all night, but it counter acts Sleep Cycle so my alarm doesn’t go off. Do to my living situation I really can’t have a radio/ CD player playing all night. Is there a way you guys could incorporate this or adjust the app so it will work in the background? Thank you.

Also does the phone have to be flat like in the illustration or can it be plugged into the dock built into my clock to charge?

I’ve used the app for nearly 2,000 nights and it has always been amazing. In the last month or two with the last few updates it just doesn’t work anymore. The alarm will either outright shutoff (fairly rare) or the sleep aid I play all night will stop playing (happens every single night). It’s not the settings and I have reinstalled to no avail. And I keep seeing review that the app is getting worse for people. What’s going on?! 😞

NOTE: You will automatically be charged for an annual “Premium” subscription when your trial is over. I found this app to be worthless for me. I tried it for a few weeks and stopped using it. There should be an option to make the ability to end the vibrating in the Apple Watch disabled. This would force one to get up and turn it off on his or her phone without it making any sound. Hope y’all take this into account!

This app used to be great. Lately it assumes I woke up and turns itself off. If I wake up to go to the bathroom, or let the cat out, then come back to bed, the alarm turns itself off. It didn’t used to do this. I used to have to turn it off manually, and I want to be able to do that again. It monitors my sleep just fine, but now that it assumes I woke up, it’s become useless as an alarm.

After a month of premium (paid) service this ‘Sleep Cycle’ app isn’t working, and there isn’t any way to contact the app developers. I set the app to start recording my sleep and set down my device in the very specific way requested, with it plugged in even, and at some point during my sleep it turns off and records nothing. Last night it recorded 1.5 of the 8 hours I actually slept. I can’t edit to correct a specific sleep cycle. I can’t create records that have only basic information, like how many ours I slept. I have many night that have gone unrecorded and that is the information that goes into their stats. Stats based on incorrect information are useless! So what exactly does ‘premium’ service get me? Nothing. Who cares if I have bad and incomplete information backed up? All the other stats I can easily look up on my own, for free. Don’t buy the premium service. It is a complete waste of money. I also tried ‘Life Cycle’. It doesn’t track well. You have to fill in a lot of information and that is pointless when the map location is incorrect and, again, the app doesn’t allow you to edit or correct their mistakes. Incorrect information is useless. Neither app is worth paying for.
Bham-Hill's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/13/18 4:57 AM
Need to provide guidance for the sleep notes feature to make it more useful. After using for a year now, I find that the data analysis isn’t that great. I probably could make it better but don’t really know how. Understanding how my sleep cycle varies with the weather and moon cycle is interesting, but I think it’s about as useful as a fortune cookie or horoscope. I’ve added user defined notes and consistently used them but there never seems to be a good correlation and is often illogical. For example, sleep quality is -15% with 1 coffee but +25% with two coffees. Doesn't integrate with either sleep cycle or Health Kit UPDATE 5/11/2018 (applies to both Power Nap & Sleep Cycle): Great apps overall. One major improvement needed, though: independent sound control. I use binaural beats apps and occasionally even use Apple Music or Pandora when going to sleep or napping. Your apps don’t do sound in the background well and don’t seem to have in-app volume control. Instead, your apps seem to override the iOS volume settings. The only way this works well is in Sleep Cycle, when waking in the morning. Otherwise it interferes with the UX. I like the background noises when going to sleep, but they are not subtle enough to allow other sound (which is at least possible to play at the same time as your app, so thanks for that) to be heard at a comfortable level. For example, when trying to power nap just now, I needed to use my binaural beats to help me eliminate a migraine before going to work. I’m in a noisy downtown area and it’s Saturday night. The binaural beats are great but the background noise from your app would help masking/drowning out the urban noises to make the 20-minute nap the most effective. Unfortunately, I have to turn the binaural beats up to max volume to be heard and this requires headphones. Your ambient noises are not designed / calibrated for headphones and cannot be comfortably played at maximum volume using headphones. Until the volume control (or perhaps calibration) is corrected, users will not be able to use the sleep aid background noises to help going to sleep if they want to also combine with other audio from the same device...especially when using headphones.

You just find yourself awake. I love the variable awake function. With premium the choices of “alarm” sound is vast. I don’t hear well so I attach a Bluetooth speaker and turn it up to maximum loudness. It’s wakes me!
Waitforit226's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/12/18 4:39 AM
I like what it does, the tone to wake you up is not annoying and it’s very easy to snooze. I’m giving it 4/5 because you have to set it every night unlike other apps that have weekly times.
Hertz vomit's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 5/12/18 4:14 PM
One of your app’s very unique features is the notification when you’re snoring using the Apple Watch. The recording also provides feedback but I’d like to suggest that you add a right axis and add a second line/different color to the chart to summarize when snoring is detected in the Sleep Cycle through the evening. Seeing this in the chart WITH the sleep summary will provide immediate feedback as to when the snoring occurred in relation to deep sleep or the other sleep cycles and see in the snapshot the effects of snoring. Thank you!

If you struggle with sleep you’ve probably spent major $$$ on pillows, sleep tests, cpap equipment, medication, herbal supplements, special lighting, and the list goes on. But how do you know if any of it is working? This app. As I follow my doctor’s advice and try changes to my behavior and bedroom to get a better night’s rest I use this app to give me objective data on my sleep quality. Get it now. Good night.

DigitalDCH's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 4/8/18 3:16 AM
I generally like this app, but there are certain flaws that drive me crazy! One of them is that occasionally (1/75 nights at most I would guess) the alarm never goes off. My phone did not restart during the night, and the screen isn’t even off. Once I wake up and move my phone it will start going off, but nothing at all before that, which is incredibly annoying, and has now forced me to add another alarm to make sure that at least that one will go off if SleepCycle fails. The second issue is more of a minor annoyance, and although I don’t claim to know anything about app development, seems super fixable. The sleep aid option used to have an “all night” option, but now the longest you can have it on is 90 minutes. That’s not a huge problem at my dorm because I have a white noise machine, but whenever I go home or travel anywhere it’s super annoying because I either have to use a different app to produce white noise on my phone (which interferes with the microphone-based sleep tracking) or buy a white noise machine to travel with. It just seems like an issue that is so easily fixed, and such a no-brainer, because some people (myself included) will wake up in the middle of the night and not know why, only to realize that the noise turned off!
Bakinggirl987's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 4/8/18 2:14 PM

toooooooooooommm's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 4/6/18 3:34 PM
I had used this app for a year with no issues before I set an alarm for 6 am with this app once and woke up at 8 am to hear my phone VIBRATING. Sleep Cycle thought that what I needed to wake me up at the correct time in order for me to make it to an important event in a business conference was VIBRATIONS in lieu of an actual alarm noise. This app fails to function as a consistent alarm and is too variable in its actual alarm functions for it to be anything worth recommending, just because of this scenario.
Ricardo Loya's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 4/6/18 2:09 PM
Couldn’t figure out why the phone kept automatically lowering the volume to 0, I deleted this app and the problem vanished. Used to be a solid app but if the app lowers volume to the point where the alarm can’t be heard, it’s useless.

I learned about this app yesterday and downloaded it last night. Maybe I missed something in the description that I still haven’t found, but I deleted it from my phone this morning. I thought that it would work with my watch as well as the phone since it uses the vibration on the watch to “nudge” you if you’re snoring. I was expecting a vibration to wake me, but my phone began to serenade me this morning and my husband asked “is that your alarm?” Since I’m up about three hours earlier than he on my work days, we’ve been very happy with my watch waking me in silence. A serenade at the time I’m in my lightest sleep isn’t the time my husband is planning to wake up.
Krystynexxx's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 4/20/18 5:43 AM
Love the app, I’ve used it since the beginning! I just wish it had the option to alert you when someone texts. I often need it for work and many nights I use another alarm just because I won’t be alerted if I receive a text. Otherwise, this really is a great way to chart your sleep and wake up softly!
Love Puzzle Games's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 4/20/18 5:16 AM
The app needs a way to pause sleep or put together two (or more) periods. If you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep you are supposed to get out of bed until you are sleepy. If you leave the app on after you get out of bed, it sometimes records you as sleeping. If you turn it off and restart it, it treats it as two nights and that affects the statistics. I really like the app, but for me, this is a major flaw and is enough to cause me to look for other ways to analyze my sleep. Another option, allow the user to set the start and end time of the analysis even if there are two or more periods during that time frame. There has to be a way to solve this problem. Like others, I would like to listen to my own music or other items as I drift off to sleep.

This is a great app but I do not like that it blocks notifications when it is running. There should be an on/off switch for this setting. This morning I woke up and my wife told me she was up with our baby at midnight and 5. 5am I remembered, but midnight I did not. I was sure I had the app tricked... there’s no way it tracked me asleep through my wife getting out of bed to feed our kid and the kid crying and all the rest of the clatter. But it did. This app has a lot of great features that I love! However I couldn’t figure out why I was still waking up irritable and tired. Does what it claims but only 2 stars because I can’t ever use it. There’s no way to keep your notifications on while the app is running and I need to know if someone texts me for work while I’m asleep most nights. Another small thing: the sleep quality only measures the length of your sleep.

trevorranger53678's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 4/15/18 12:00 PM
The app itself seems to work fine and was pleasant to use, but there are some major caveats. The app is very unclear about which features are free and which are premium. There is a month free trial, but as the app page says and as I was told in email correspondence, there is also a way to just use the free features of the app continually. Which features those are is still a mystery to me. Due to the confusion, I went over the free trial expecting to still be able to use the free features, and instead was charged a full year’s subscription, which brings me to my second problem with this app. They charge you for a whole year’s worth and do not refund you. So, if you go even a second past that free trial l, your bank account gets charged $32, and there is no way to refund. I emailed twice about this, and only got automated responses. I’ve never used an app that was so unclear in its delineation of free vs paid features and how the payment system works, and I’m pretty disappointed in being charged a year’s worth of an expensive app that I was just trying out. Be warned.

So i have my phone sound on to be able to hear for emergency texts or phone calls at night. The phone call sound sometimes goes through but not always and my texts NEVER make sounds when i’m using this app. I find this to be a big flaw for me because if i didn’t want to hear my notifications i would just have it on silent. AsGrg's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
This app has given me the idea what my sleep look like. The best part is when it wakes you up, you are not in deep sleep that makes easy to leave the bed. Habituated to track my sleep for years. Thanks to the developer!

I think that premium shouldn’t cost that much. Other than that I love the app it is very helpful.
Rikumac04's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
I’m almost positive I paid money for this app years ago, and yet with this latest update all the features that I enjoyed the most about the app (sleep notes, trends, mood upon awakening, etc.) I now have to pay $30/month for? That’s really lame.
endermanslayer24's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
I’ve never been a morning person. Even when I had to wake up early for something I enjoyed doin, I felt like smashing my alarm clock against the wall. Now, I can wake up and enjoy my time of peace eating breakfast and having some time to really wake up before I leave for school. One complaint I have (though I don’t know how in the world it could be fixed) is that whenever I try to use my watch along with the app, my watch’s battery is near dead by morning, even if I start at full capacity. Really is a shame, but the phone does the job well by itself.
Raawrquel's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/8/18 12:32 PM
As a heavy sleeper I absolutely LOVE this app and have found it to be the only thing that really works to wake me up. BUT, I downloaded the app for free and after a month received a $30 yearly subscription charge to my iTunes account without my authorization! I was able to reverse the charges easily with Apple, but may not see the funds back for up to a month. To avoid this happening to you, go to your subscriptions settings in iTunes, and “cancel subscription”.
The Guy Behind The Guy's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/8/17 8:11 AM
You need to remember to set it at night before falling asleep and also to turn it off when you wake up. If you fall asleep, no tracking. If you wake up and run out the door and forget to turn it off, you’re sleeping for 24 hours and there’s no way to edit the times. The phone knows when it’s not movies and when you woke up. Time for some automatic sleep tracking.

Hapkidoist's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/8/17 3:06 PM
This app is amazing and has helped improve my quality of sleep. I wake up more refreshed, and the alarm rouses me without disturbing my spouse. Using the mic is a very clever way of tracking sleep. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants better sleep!

I sleep with usually a fan or a white noise machine or both, will this work with those on or will it interfere?
DaniSaysAsFollows's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/7/17 8:02 AM
Allow me to choose the volume for sleep sound and alarm separately, with two sliders. Allow to play songs from my music as the sleep sound/alarm. Show the connection between my heart rates, and how good I slept. Meaning, when I wake up, what heart rate I have after sleeping well, and what heart rate I have after a bad night of sleep. Force screen to stay on while heart rate is detected, otherwise it keeps restarting.

Asleep in SI's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/7/17 12:23 PM
I use this sleep aid to keep track of my time asleep. It may help to determine if I have sufficient deep sleep cycles but it is hard to discern that information — better left to sleep researchers to determine.
whill0121's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/7/17 11:19 AM
I love this app to the point to where I have paid for the subscription. However I am very disappointed that they released an update about a month ago for iPhone X compatibility however the heart sensor still isn’t working. Contacting their support said it would be within two weeks and still nothing. When they get that feature fixed my rating will go back up but it’s kind of a let down to be paying for an app but not be able to take full advantage.
angery@sleepcycle's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I set my alarm for 8:30, understanding that the alarm could go off 30 minutes early at 8 am. Set my phone beside myself and went to bed. I was hoping to use this app to help track my poor sleep at night. This morning the alarm went off at 6:30 not 8 or 8:30, I was so tired I hadn’t gotten 7 hours of sleep so I went back to sleep but suffered from the extra early wake up regardless. Why did it wake me 2 hours early? Is this a torture device? Or is it just the worst alarm ever?
why uniqe nick names's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
The app works well I like seeing the trends. It has shown as my wife confirms that as I lost weight I have significantly decreased my storing. I also have been able to pinpoint that I only snore slightly after falling asleep. However I have red that there is a snore feature for the watch and can’t find out how to turn it on.
bgleyd's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
Don’t misunderstand me, is an amazing alarm, I love it! BUT, if you need to use your phone for anything during the night (such lantern for example) if you click to light up so you can unlock or start the lantern, it will go crazy! Is going to take a minute for the screen to hold illuminated so you can actually turn the lantern on. This morning, it would not turn the alarm off with the simple side click as usually. I das to grab the phone and unlock it to turn it off, and it was extremely laid by the time it happened. Maybe if they fix that, I would consider getting the paid version.
AliKD*'s Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I had access to all of the now ‘Premium’ information. There has been an update, all of those features are gone, and I’m required to pay a subscription for something I thought I already paid for? Did I miss something? I’ve been using the app for a couple of years now and loved what I was getting. But now the features have been cut and I’m not willing to pay a monthly subscription for something that was once included.
Chuckblevinsii's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM

Randycoxclemson's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
This app started ok, then got much better. But of late, the heart rate monitor never works (just says getting heart rate from Apple Health, which doesn’t have it, since I just woke up). Settings are correct, but it just doesn’t bother anymore, and I don’t like the missing data.
EPS10's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
Love this app before last update. Really helps keep track of your sleep patterns. I like the heart rate and snore functions. But ever since the latest update my heart rate function isn’t working. Flash does not stay on to allow camera to get heart rate. I have tried resetting app and even turning off and on. Still no help. Hope they fix it soon or I may not want to keep paying for Premium Service.
mazzuhofdejazz's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
This app is lame; I paid once and had full functionality and used it loyally but then they decided to s**** older users over by changing to an overpriced subscription model and now I can’t access any of the historic data like I installed the app for.
CJTrent's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
The app itself is good, but really needs watch integration improvements. Was shocked at the battery drain when I woke up. Then on top of that find out that the watch wasn’t doesn’t even do the monitoring when using this app. Major issues there. May try again after an update.
karms...'s Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I’ve been using sleep cycle for almost a year now. I like how the alarms grow closer together the closer it is to the time you set as the alarm. However, it can get annoying when it starts ringing at the beginning of the window and then gets louder because you don’t snooze it. I hear the alarm in my dreams and don’t realize it is actually the alarm or I don’t realize that I haven’t turned it off until it’s gets super loud and I’m worrying about my roommate(s) waking up. It’s especially worrisome when you have roommates who are still asleep. I like the idea of the app though, this is my one critique. And that if you have your own sleep aid, you can’t play it on your phone at the same time.
byebye429's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
You can no longer use sleep notes which helped Identify things that helped or hurt your sleep.
Eb-one's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I don’t understand this. It tanks your watch battery but movement is not tracked by the app(why not? Seems ideal. My guess is some sort of apple restriction?). But either way doesn’t make sense why it would use so much battery. I tried using the microphone method and it’s the same. It still uses the mic in the phone yet blows through your watch battery.
Shay51685's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I have used this app for awhile and while I like the features of it, it is an absolute Apple Watch battery drainer! I can go to bed with full battery life and when I wake up my battery life is anywhere between 30-40%. I find this a bit crazy. I will be finding other sleep apps that do a better job with minimum battery usage. Uninstalled.
fulltimemonti's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I have the premium subscription and love the app. The only feature that I need added is to be able to play a playlist from my phone on random as the alarm. Also, only some of my songs are showing up, but that probably isn't the apps fault. The Apple cloud sync makes things wonky. Add the ability to play a random song and you will get ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me.

I’ve been using this as an alarm for years now, and I have zero complains. Apart from the occasional bug, the app is fantastic. I hear the calming alarm in the morning and my body recognizes the tone and wakes up peacefully. No stressing or waking up to a loud noise. The app makes mornings a little easier.
MichaelJGlasgow's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I have loved this app for ages, and have gotten dozens of people to purchase it. With my latest update to iPhone XR, however, I’ve noticed that even though my steps seem accurate in the Apple health app, and even though everything is set up for Sleep Cycle to have permissions to access Health data, morning after morning, Sleep Cycle is telling me that my steps for the previous day were something like 300…or 850. (I usually average around 8000). Can’t find any rhyme or reason for these seemingly random, ultra-low numbers, because once again, everything seems correct in Health. It seems like this is a simple bug to fix, and I’m astounded that it hasn’t been done already. Once it is, my rating goes back up to five stars! Thanks!

This is my favorite app to wake up with but with the new iPhones that have you swipe up as a home button it’s frustrating because that’s how you end your night of sleep. Sometimes I end it before I’m supposed to or it stays on throughout the day because you have to make sure you end the app instead of just closing it.
TAJ79Guy's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM

vbh852's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
This app would be great if I was a single person but I’m married. Let me explain, the app is suppose to only hear your sleep pattern and movements. It doesn’t, it hears everything. My husband gets up before I do. He is one of those people that have a natural internal alarm clock. He wakes around 6 am or earlier everyone morning. I am suppose to wake up at 6:30. When my husband gets out of bed the app hears him and assumes I’m ready to get up even though it shows on my app that I was in a deep sleep. Every morning the alarm goes off at 6am. I end up hit snooze more with this app than any other app I have tried. So... if you are single and don’t have a partner/spouse/other you will like this app. If not look elsewhere.
WolfLady74's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I do like this app, but why is it that suddenly the things I have been using all along are part of the premium? I have been using this app since 2016. I have been using the sleep notes, wake up mood and heart rate since the beginning. Why is it I now need to buy premium to use the features I have had all along?!? That’s a really cheap move on your part to suddenly charge for the basic features I have had access to for years. It makes me not want to use this app anymore.

Great sleep tracker. Lay your phone on the nightstand and press start. Alarm is very effective. Some issues but no deal breakers except price. You can set up your own metrics, say comparing sleeping in a hotel or at home and see how your sleep differs, for better or worse. 30 bucks a year is ludicrous however. Back to the free version I guess.
Ceuriss's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
Not sure if it’s because I’m playing Bluetooth through my Alexa to my Bluetooth speaker, but I’m so glad I can finally fall asleep to music through my speakers instead of my phone, which was a pretty big issue before. This app has continued to improve for the last four years I have been using it and I feel weird when I don’t use this app to go to sleep. It’s the most consistent part of my daily routine. When I don’t set it on a wild night out and forget, I wake up with a bittersweet feeling. That being said, it does drain a good chunk of battery if you try use it unplugged, but it will give you warning before you set the sleep setting. I love this app because you can track your sleep without setting alarm, choosing to wake up at your own pace as well as setting the wake up window that you want. I usually leave it set at 30 minutes. The only feature I wish it had was an ability to change the alarm time after you’ve set it. Sometimes you wake up, realize it’s a snow day and you don’t have to go to work, and you can keep sleeping. But for those days, since the alarm will keep going off until you fully deactivate the sleep measuring feature, you have to completely turn off the tracking feature to disable the alarm. It would be nice if the two were separate. Overall, the app is my most consistently used over the longest stretch of time. I love knowing how long I spend tossing and turning versus a good night where I’m knocked out and don’t move a muscle the whole night. Have definitely recommended to a friend and would recommend again.
FFMB's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
I’ve been using this app for at least seven years, but much of the original functionality is now only available with a premium subscription. It was good enough when the app was new to allow me to see my stats, choose my own music, etc., but now the creators are too greedy for its users? I’m not cheap, but I know what this app could do for its original price. Yeah, a handful of new bells and whistles and fewer features available without a surcharge are not going to keep me around for much longer. I’ve deleted lesser apps. Sleep Cycle’s days are numbered.

courtstarrrr's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/18 12:33 PM
Just want to start off by saying I use this app every night. But Sleep Cycle just gone away and took free features and made them for premium users only. I went to listen to my snoring because I like to joke on myself and send them to my mom or tell my boyfriend I slept silently when there are zero snore minutes. I’ve been sick and congested, so I wanted to see how I sounded. But, behold! This feature is now only available for premium users. Not only this feature, but many more that I used to like and visit frequently. I’m a person that loves value at low cost (re: free), because life is expensive. I’ll now be looking for a sleep app that has similar features but doesn’t require that I pay $30 to use them. Should shrugs from snorin bugs.

I’ve been using sleep cycle on and off for years now, it’s pretty great, there are just a few things I wish for. I like: - Records snoring snippets/time - Wakes you gently - Has a white noise sleep aid built in - Let’s you track and gives analysis for what is affecting your sleep, is customizable - When I purchased it it was inexpensive Wants: - I wish the sleep aids were better quality and had more options OR allowed you to use another app for white noise while using sleep cycle. I prefer the rain rain and relax melodies apps for white noise but can’t use them at the same time as sleep cycle. - I think it needs a UI update, it’s not very aesthetically pleasing, though not u*** either, it’s just kinda boring. - I also wish there were better alarm sounds, they’re gentle and not terrible but not wonderful either I do recommend this app still despite my wishlist. It is excellent.

I’ve been using this app for years and it’s been great. You have the option of using a microphone or a motion sensor while you sleep. Historically, I used the motion sensor since I also use a white noise machine and the microphone + white noise machine didn’t seem to work. I have an iPhone X now and can say Sleep Cycle’s microphone works well with a white noise machine. I’m thrilled because this means I can use wireless charging and hear my snores in the morning.

sstkdoxr320's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/6/17 10:08 AM
I think I have found the perfect combination of alarm clocks. I always set Sleep Cycle to be my first alarm, and another app called SpinMe Alarm Clock as my backup. Sleep Cycle usually wakes me up in my optimal wake up time, but sometimes it just isn’t enough for me and I’ll either snooze through it or turn it off and go back to bed. If Sleep Cycle fails to wake me up, my backup alarm SpinMe will start blaring which can only be turned off if I get out of bed and spin around twice before it finally shuts off! Crazy but it works and I haven’t been late to work since I started doing this. That’s where SpinMe Alarm comes in, an alarm clock that is impossible to ignore and forces you awake. I highly recommend using these 2 alarms together. Best few dollars I’ve ever spent!
MiSteve1's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/5/17 6:28 PM
I love waking up early but I struggle so much actually doing it. I literally set about 5 alarms to try to get myself out of bed. And if I don't set an alarm (because I read your body will wake itself up when it has had sufficient rest) i sleep for 10-12 hours. My first night using this app I was a little weary about if it would actually work. I set a few other alarms after when it was supposed to wake me up just so I wasn't late. BUT IT WORKED! It went off about 6:20 because I said I wanted to get up between 6:15 and 6:45 and I woke up turned it off and was expected to fight myself to stay awake like norma. This didn't happen. I felt perfectly rest and felt like I had energy all day. I fell like this app is some kind of alien technology used to give me more sleep in order to prepare me for a study they are doing. Or that this is the technology Batman used in order to only have to sleep 2 hours a night. Even if you are skeptical I would say try it out. I haven't used the premium features that you have to pay for, and with only using the free section this is my opinion. Try it! Just seize the opportunity to easily wake up in the morning. Or spend thousands of dollars on a new mattress. I guess it's your choice.

Puddlehopper's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/5/17 12:11 PM
I really love Sleep Cycle and have been using it for years, but since upgrading to the iPhone X, there are a few issues that need to be worked out. 1) heart rate does not work with dual camera (it took me several mornings to actually figure out it wasn’t me, but the app) 2) bar at the bottom of the screen remains on unless iPhone is locked (a concern for screen burn in), but locked iPhone seems to disable the tap to snooze function (edit: maybe not, it worked this morning, but it was the first time in a week) 3) is like to be able to switch to a Qi charger, but the phone needs to be face down or locked (see comment about locked phone above) I’d also love to see Apple Watch integration sometime in the future.

I am really enjoying the features of sleep cycle. I love the soothing music that you can wake up to, the heart rate monitor, the monitor that record your breathing or snoring Paterenn. And it monitors your quality of sleep. With sleep cycle, I can improve my quality of sleep. Thank you!
Kzandy's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/31/18 12:42 PM
I tried it twice. Both times over 90% when I started. And the watch woke me up at 10%. It doesn't even say it's using the watch for anything other than an alarm. You also have e to use it for an entire week for it to even tell you anything useful.
Micvachon's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/31/18 12:42 PM
When activating on the Series 4 44mm Watch, it drains the battery ridiculously fast. 60-70% overnight. And it doesn’t record movement/better read who is snoring in the bed when with a partner. I am hoping these issues are fixed soon as i love the ability to start the sleep function using my watch. But I cannot do that until the battery drain issue is revolved.
Phoenix of Lebanon's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/31/18 12:42 PM
This app is not even close to be among the best as it needs your iPhone near by the bed to track your sleep and does not do it automatically nor use apple watch as the real best apps do. By best apps I mean AutoSleep, Sleepmatic and Pillow. These apps apps need no actions from your side to track your sleep some have more complicated graphs and analysis others are simple but most importantly all of them do not require any subscription.
Djejdjjsjd's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/30/18 12:34 PM
This review is for the premium version. The alarm wakes me up gently. The insights are very helpful. One thing this app has that a lot of other sleep apps don’t is the ability to place it on the floor or nightstand, instead of on the bed or under a pillow. I don’t have to worry about rolling over my phone or charger, or knocking my phone off the bed. The snore recorder is great. One thing I would suggest for the developer to add is an option to record sleep talking.
sandyojm's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/30/18 12:34 PM
This app is great for tracking your sleep hours and quality as well as how deep of a sleep you had. It also has an alarm that wakes you at the point that your sleep is light. No need for anything special to go with it like a watch. Just put your phone on your night stand like Everyone does anyway.
Elijah1324's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/30/18 12:34 PM

Karl Betcher's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/30/18 12:34 PM
The App itself is very clunky, and the UI is horrible. Half or more of the features are locked off for premium members, which costs $30/year, instead of one flat amount. The screen will turn off when you phone is flipped over, as it tells you to do, but when you try to turn it off in the morning, to have to struggle as you can access the app when it keeps turning the screen off. Overall, awful app, please, do not purchase!
SAMarshall's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/30/18 12:34 PM
If you rely on emergency bypass DO NOT USE THIS APP. I have used this app every night for years. Unfortunately I can not use it any longer because it bypasses the iOS emergency bypass for text and phone calls. I am an emergency response person and am required to be able to receive calls and texts from the emergency response center. When I sleep I am able to silence the phone, turn on not disturb, and sleep knowing that only one call will wake me up. Somehow this app is able to override the iOS emergency bypass and it just silences all calls, texts, and notifications. It shouldn't be possible to override the operating system like this. I'm sure Apple carries some of the blame but they wo t respond to the concern either so now I'm just not able to use this app.

dorisdazee's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/29/18 12:34 PM
I am upset that after a couple of days past the date to cancel the trial I am not being given a refund . According to the Apple guidelines you should have 90 days to cancel. I felt like there are more useful free resources such as sleepti.me website that simply do the math for you on sleep cycles for average humans and tell you what time to wake up. There is no way for any phone application to monitor your sleep quality according to sleep experts the advertising for these kind of charged applications are therefore fraudulent.
Tagggggggggg's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/29/18 12:34 PM
In general, it seems to wake me up at the right time and do a decent job at tracking my sleep cycle. But there’s a huge bug: if I wake up before the alarm time and stop Sleep Cycle from my Apple Watch, the Sleep Cycle app on my phone continues to use background battery until the alarm time. This can be as much as 20% over a few hours!
ChristyinTX's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/29/18 12:34 PM

Anna Dale's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/29/18 12:34 PM
It’s is a great app to track how well you ACTUALLY slept. It is fairly accurate, and it’s very interesting to compare the statistics of each night. The two problems I have are the battery drainer, but that can’t really be changed, and the alarm/snooze. The alarm and snooze only go off once before they shut off which is inconvenient for heavy sleepers.
lee happily 47's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/29/18 12:34 PM
I have trouble sleeping. Most of the sleep apps I’ve tried don’t really know the difference between lying in bed and sleeping. This one does. If I get up In the night I take my phone with me and I can see that I woke up on the graph. I can see how deeply I slept and how often I slept deeply. Very helpful for me as I can repeat behavior that induced good sleep and on a night I got really deep sleep after a few really bad nights, I understand that I am in transition and just know that my body is not used to sleep. But it is getting better and more consistent sleep!
RustVel's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/29/18 12:34 PM
I put this app on my page with noise, meditation, breathing and relaxation apps. I come back to this suite of apps I have every single night or every time I have to reboot or recharge myself. Can’t thank the app makers enough for letting me keep all the features given I bought this years ago before the membership. Most apps would (and have in the past!) leave me in the dust. The usual move is to make the app free and add the membership leaving me with less than what I payed for... or they remove the app from the App Store and reintroduce it... it takes some real values and b**** to give out the membership to OG users like that. Thanks.
McFaith's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/29/18 12:34 PM
They have named all three of their subscriptions “premium “ and there’s no way to differentiate. Therefore, you’re charged for a year! Working on getting a refund via Apple. Or, dispute with bank. Useful app? Meh. Accuracy? Debatable.

Recent upgrade took Pulse Rate from a standard feature to a Premium feature. Very disappointed in this. Wasn’t something identified when you opened the app after the update so had to dig and find out why when I was half asleep the same process I’d used for many years no longer worked. Used to be a 5+ app so lowering it to 3- . UPDATE 12/28/2018-Found that a recent update after my review restored my previously purchased Premium features. Very happy with the app again!
xs10shal's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/29/18 12:34 PM
Very flawed app. It tracks great, but the alarm will not shut off. Hitting stop does nothing. Changing time won’t shut it up. Swiping the app up won’t work. The only way to k*** this zombie app is to power off the whole phone and reboot. Hope they fix it as the tracking works great.

This app is great, I highly recommend. I have tried others but this one just works. It has many features that are very useful for those of us that like to track how well we sleep. Feature request: I want to be able to track snoring but I need to use the accelerometer to silence the alarm. I need a physical act more than just noise to silence the alarm. So a snooze with the option of using the accelerometer to silence it, but also be able to use the microphone to track snoring and motion.

Haleybunbun's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/28/17 5:10 AM
I loved the app and I used it daily. I’m not 100% sure if it works or it just fake calculates, but I enjoyed looking at my sleep results whether it was real or not. I enjoyed the alarm going off at the best time until there were times that I needed to be up at a certain time (not within a range.) Problem is, when I shut off the alarm portion, it STILL WENT OFF. It went off between 6:00 and 6:30am every morning. I tried everything to get it to stop-shutting off all buttons on the app, getting rid of other sleep apps, even DELETING THE APP.-It still continued. The app has been deleted for 3 weeks and the same. Freaking. Alarm. Goes. Off. I don’t know what to do.. should I call support? It’s not my iPhone alarm. My iPhone alarm has a different ringtone and no other alarms are set. Somethings wrong but it needs to stop. Do not download.

I have been using this app for years and have loved it! Unfortunately last week this app failed me and I thankfully woke up on my own almost an hour later than I wanted to... the app apparently crashed sometime in the night. I had forgotten about this happening and had hoped it was a fluke until this morning when I was disappointed again to see the app had crashed. Luckily I noticed before my the actual wake time so I set my iPhone alarm instead (which I hate, by the way. It’s so old school) Please fix this issue!!! I love this app and I will change the rating.

I know I do not snore, neither does my partner. One day the app recorded a snoring period, which I listened and turned out to be intimate noises. This has only happened once and I am still puzzled how this occurred. Other than that the app is worth a shot, although the premium version is not worth your $30/year.

My biggest gripe is this: Bluetooth headphones do not work with sleep aid. You have to have headphones plugged in, or it will start to play the sleep aid sounds over the phone's speakers. Secondly, I cannot choose a playlist or custom song for sleep aid like I can for the alarm. If these features are important to you, don't waste your money.
DeansReview's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/25/18 12:22 PM
I did have some initial issues with iOS12 not recording sound and showing sleep quality of 100% every night. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app to fix this. Thankfully I already took advantage of the daily backup feature so was able to restore all my previous sleep data results.
F. Silver's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/25/18 12:22 PM
This is a great app. I am always woken up when sleeping lightly, which has made it so much easier to get up in the morning. The user interface is easily navigable, and the information reports are great. There is only one thing that has bothered me for ages. One of the main metrics reported is “Time in bed,” which is not very helpful. I wish this could be changed to “Time Asleep,” which I think people care about much more. For example, if I toss and turn for 45 minutes before falling asleep, I’d rather have 6’30” sleeping reported in the morning than simply 7’15” in bed. In fact, another metric, sleep latency, would be interesting to see tracked too.
Lives near Disney World's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/25/17 4:25 PM
The app within the last couple updates says I am awake when I’m in deep sleep. I’m snoring it says yet it says I’m awake. Alarm goes off even when the tracker says I’m moderate to deep sleep. It has to go off till it scares me being very loud. Gets my heart racing when that happens. The app was not designed to do go off when I’m deep sleep which it does a lot. Thank you waking me up feeling tireder and goggly. Deleting for good now. The app makes it look like I don’t sleep well when I sleep very well. :(
hkutzmer's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/25/17 2:06 PM
I set the alarm, but it doesn’t work. Some time during the night it sets itself back to the time selection screen. That means no alarm wakes me up. Good thing I have dogs as a backup alarm. I’ve used this app for about two years and have never had this problem until the past few updates. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it’s often enough that I will look for other options. I can’t risk oversleeping and being late for work. I also have a sleep disorder and migraines, so I need the data for tracking. I’ve had no data for multiple nights this month.
RGX1's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/25/17 2:03 AM
I’ve compared Sleep Cycle to other sleep tracking apps and Sleep Cycle has a big advantage over the others.

I have the premium version and the snore detection doesn’t work? I definitely have it on but every morning when I wake up, it says I didn’t snore at all or very little. I know that’s not right because I have another app that is just for snoring that I use some nights and it records a lot of loud and not so loud snoring throughout the night. Says I snore about 30-40% of the night.

It doesn’t accurately monitor your sleep - I get up between 0345 and 0400 to feed my cats, and the app shows me sound asleep more often than not. The “perfectly timed” alarm is anything but. As good as iPhones are, they can’t use a microphone to accurately track your sleep. The one thing it’s good for us keeping track of when you go to bed and wake up

Asdfかう's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/22/18 11:41 AM
I’ve had this app for years and relied on it to wake me up on time and give me insights on my sleep quality with little to no problem. And it did just that, until recently. I set the app’s alarm one night, as usual, and went to bed. When I woke, I realized that I overslept when this app alarm was supposed to wake me. I briefly considered the possibility that I set the wrong time for my alarm. So I open the app and what I found bewildered me. Not only did it seem like the app wasn’t tracking my sleep at all the previous night, but ALL of my sleep data was gone. Erased. Years of insights wiped from memory. But I thought, “this app is still a good alarm to wake up to” so I used it to set an alarm for the next day. I fall asleep that night and wake up. The sun is shining through my window. That’s my first clue that something is off. I set my alarm for 5 am, when the sky is still dark. So obviously, I overslept again. I open the app, trying to find some acceptable reason for me not waking up to it, hoping that I was doing something wrong and that this app that I’ve trusted for years wasn’t suddenly malfunctioning. Unfortunately, it was the app. Once again, it didn’t seem to be analyzing my sleep patterns and no insights from my recent rest appeared. To top it off, this was the second day in a row that I woke up late for work. This app has disappointed me in so many ways. The only positive thing is that I didn’t spend any money on this. Do not download.

I’ve used this app every night for at least two years now because it’s the best way to wake up, period. I never feel that groggy, tired, wish-my-alarm-would-shut-off feeling anymore because it always comes on at just the right time and wakes me gently from shallow sleep. It only gets better if you have smart lighting, because you can integrate it with the app to slowly turn your lights on just before you want to wake up. The improvement on my quality of life was dramatic and I’m never going back! Definitely the best money I’ve ever spent!

I have used this app faithfully for a few years. It’s great to mute notifications while I’m sleeping, AND it gently wakes me up. The problem lies with the new iPhones that don’t have the back/home button. To exit an app, you swipe up from the bottom of the screen... the same way you turn off the alarm! Rather than silencing my phone, I’m exiting the app, reopening, exiting, reopening and so on until I get it just right. And by that time, I’ve woken up everyone else in my home. I’ve relied on this app for years, and sadly might have to delete it because of my phone upgrade.

I’ve been using the app nightly for the past 3-4 years. My favorite feature is the sound maker. My only complaint is that the maximum time for the sound maker is 3 hours. Please allow an unlimited option so I can lock my screen at night and not have the app counted in Screen Time statistics.

I have used this application for years. Works excellently. However, in one of the most recent updates, all of the features I have come to enjoy became a paid subscription. It still does track your sleep, and still does identify snoring. That’s about it. This is a five star application, but I give it two stars for them pulling the rug out from underneath of the people who have been with them for years. I have no problem with them wanting to have a paid subscription. Had they not been so underhanded about it, I would have likely paid for the subscription just to have this application and its functionality. To make matters worse, when I reviewed the application before, they replied with a mundane “reinstall the application“ response. They didn’t even take the time to read my review before responding. Just goes to show you how little they care about their clients. I will just move onto a different application. I hope you have better luck with this developer.

Absolutely amazing, I haven’t been waking up easily since I was a young child now this app gets me up effortlessly.
JFWL's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/20/18 12:31 PM
Love the app and have used it for years. 19-Dec update broke it on my iPhone 5S (iOS 11.4.1). Please QC and fix. Five stars when functional again.

I always wake up feeling great! Never groggy!
SoundSleeper13's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/20/17 2:37 AM
I can sleep through an alarm clock. A loud one. But not this one. It wakes me up when I’m naturally in a lighter sleep, which works wonders! I use it most every night, and even just for naps. I wake up feeling much more alert and rested, because I’m not fighting to awaken from deep sleep.
Beanaroo223's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/20/17 1:31 AM
I like the concept, but the slightest movement causes it to go off and I’m still tired when I wake up. I feel like there should be some way to make it more accurate. But I prefer it over regular alarms.
BritBrit043's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/20/17 10:18 AM
I have a lot of apps but this is one that I actually use every day. The 30 day trial hooked me and $14.99/year was too good of a deal to pass up. It’s definitely helped me figure out my problems with waking feeling exhausted every day.

hpascha's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/18 12:11 PM
I generally liked the app, except for the fact that it tracks my husband’s snoring as if it were me (trust me: I know it’s him)...so how reliable is the data if it does this? The reason for my rating though is that the alarm went off full volume at midnight for some ungodly reason. It was weird too because it wasn’t the normal gently/pleasant sounding alarm; it was more like a normal alarm sound so I didn’t recognize right away that it was my phone. I was in a deep sleep and was super confused. At least I’m not crazy because other people had the same problem. This is a dealbreaker.
Happypoopoo's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/17 9:59 AM
This app is so amazing that I actually took the time to write this review. Like legit I never do these but I had to when you guys at SleepCycle sent an option on my screen for me to review it and I just said it had to happen. SleepCycle literally makes my life easier because I hate waking up feeling like I got 2 minutes of rest versus the actual amount that I got, and it literally wakes you up at a time that it knows you are sleeping the lightest. That way, you wake up at the best possible time to feel the most REFRESHED and AMAZING when you hear the alarm go off. That is all. I'm going to sleep now. Thank you SleepCycle team for your amazingness
Bfuehsu geue's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/17 7:37 AM
I’ve always been really bad at waking up to alarm clocks, but this one tracks your sleeping to wake you up at the best time for your body and it’s amazing how much easier it is to wake up in the morning. I highly recommend.
CVOG0's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/17 7:21 PM
I downloaded this app because I suffer from insomnia and have a hard time getting up in the morning. I used the alarm clock for about two weeks and never once did it wake me up. In fact I was late to work a few times, And since a majority of the users are not doctors the data collected is virtually meaningless. I also believe that monitoring your sleeping patterns by requiring your breathing can lead to some inaccurate data. Which again brings me back to the data collected by this application is useless.
DJKiddBomb's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/17 5:41 AM
Great app, only 4 stars because you have to pay for the extra stuff.

It's been a great way for me to regulate my sleep so that I can be well rested.
Humbadeea's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/17 4:31 AM
I would say this was worth any small amount of money that it costs. Paying for premium, or even just the basic app is the best way to analyze your sleep. It’s such an easy well made app to use that I honestly can’t wait to wake up every morning and see all the data this little app picks up in one night. It’s amazing and definitely worth the money !!
Allen0012's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/17 3:48 AM
Unfortunately when I use it, there are nights my phone does not fully charge and it over heats. Great app though.
zbones's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/17 2:43 PM
This looks like a really cool app but their description feels a bit misleading. I had downloaded it to learn more about my snoring. Looking at the details in the basic addition it said I could do this. However I can see the times that I snored but I can’t listen to any of the snore clips to find out more about them or determine if it was maybe my dog barking. If you want to listen or get any additional information about your snoring, other than notification that yes you did snore, you need to upgrade the premium.
foxnom's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/19/17 2:04 PM
I somehow ended up paying for a $30/year subscription. Be careful when downloading this app.

It's the best thing ever! But having to get premium membership stinks
Randommmmmm's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/18 12:17 PM
I liked this until it started going off hours before I set it. It’s gone off at 1am, it’s gone off at 8am (when I set it for 11 on the weekend), etc. Not to mention the fact that it drains my Apple Watch battery. I’m sick of being woken up dead asleep so I will never use this app again.
rekit's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/18 12:17 PM
I’ve used this app every night for close to 10 years. In that 10 years, about half a dozen times the alarm just failed to go off. And not only that, but since the app lowers the ringer volume to 0 while it’s running, even the backup alarm I had set in the iPhone clock app wouldn’t make a sound. It happens infrequently enough (there’s no rhyme or reason why it happens) that I kept using the app. But after missing my flight today, I’m done. So long sleep cycle.

Update your terms now that you threw another update out there. UPDATED: I updated my rating because with the new update, this app is NO LONGER FREE. So in the beginning, I was lead on by Googles list of Free Sleep Apps, stating that this app, Calm ($12.99/m) and various other sleep apps were free. This couldn't be farther from the truth & paying for an app isn't an issue- when it states UPFRONT that they're only running a trial period then you'll have to pay for it. My point is simply to let people know that the app only has a trial period, and then you'll have to pay for it.so now I lose ALL of my sleep tracking habits for the last 2 months all because someone's got to make a buck! Hmm.. seems a bit fishy to me. Don't believe any of the Bloggers on Social Media stating these apps are free. It doesn't matter if New York Times themselves write the article, (my husband works for NYT & I've seen the misleading stuff they print along with the way it's written to almost always badger the opposing party of the article!)
Hi I'm dustin's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/18 12:17 PM
This app is a nice indicator of how much I’m moving around in my sleep, that’s all fine and good but there have been more than one occasion where my phone has come unplugged and the app has had its alarm go off waking me up at 4 in the morning, just let my phone die and I’ll get up when I get up, incredibly annoying feature that diminishes the value of a decent app
Corbin Supertramp's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/18 12:17 PM
This app is great. please add integration with alexa from amazon!

I have never been good at waking up in the mornings, but this app helps me so much. I love how it chooses the best time to wake you up so that you don’t wake up tired! I also like the fact that you can track your sleep and how good or bad you slept the night before! I love this app!
Roland St.'s Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/18 12:17 PM
Been using the app for a few years and this morning, all the free features (notes, heart rate monitor) went away. I have no problem paying for apps - but the fact that it was so sudden without any warning so I didn’t have time to do any thorough research on whether I wanted to spend the money on those features is what really left me with a bad user experience.
Jofirstreview's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/18 12:17 PM
You remember that one time you woke up feeling like a g****** champion? Barely ever happens because something-something your deeper sleep stages become longer every time you go back to that stage, this thing wakes you up before you go back, which helps you wake up lightly instead of feeling like you need another 4 hours. For me personally, I don’t know what is the most I would pay for this app but I would say it’s at the very least worth around 10$ to me and it’s like...2 or 3, right?

Suggestion. A widget so it’s quicker and easier to turn on the alarm.

Normally, I press snooze for an hour and struggle to get out of bed. With this app, I actually get up and at ‘em. Great for people who struggle to get up in the morning.
Swizzy__'s Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/17 4:21 AM
App does exactly what it says it does. I reliably wake up every morning feeling rested, even when I can't get that much sleep. I'd call this an essential.

This app helps me wake up for school on time! 😂 but it also helps with making me not so tired and more awake for the school day!💕💕 10/10
WPA Supplicant's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/17 1:56 PM
I am surprised any features are left now that you moved to a yearly subscription. I have enough subscriptions and I don’t need another. This was an awesome app but since you moved a lot of features into the subscription, I will be using something else.
donhoward's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/17 12:16 PM
This app has great features, but I question its accuracy. When waking in the middle of the night and using the restroom it shows me in a deep sleep. This has happened a number of times. Also, since moving to the Premium version a pop-up is continually appearing telling me that Sign-In is Required. Sign-in to what using what password and submitting it to whom? Is this where I send my Apple ID off to someone?
el adam's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/18/17 10:39 AM
The issue I have with the app, every morning I have to delete my yahoo email account and re-add it if I want it to download my mail. I used the alarm all last week, mon-fri and had the issue everyday. Didn’t use the alarm Saturday or Sunday and no issues. Here we are back to Monday morning and the stock email app has quit downloading my mail again while the official yahoo email app continued to work as intended. This is incredibly annoying and I hope this is addressed soon or I’ll be cancelling my premium subscription after the trial.
OTMFAN's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/17/18 11:52 AM
Despite claims in the app of the day, I found no way to enable the watch “snore stopper” or evidence that it worked automatically. I signed up for the premium trial, but still no “snore stopper” watch app evidence. Turning on the app on the watch turns on “air play” on the watch so the app is listening through the watch microphone instead of the phone’s microphone. This drained my series 4 watch battery of about 50% of its remaining power each night for no real benefit to me. Otherwise, the phone app works fine, but not worth $$ per year to me.

Mirepuppy's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/17/18 11:52 AM
This app has really helped me on waking up. Especially while being a college student and having early classes. I also don’t have the urge to buy the premium for once! Normally they add all the features and you are left with a normal alarm clock but not this app. In Sleep Cycle you also have the intelligent snooze(which I love) and tracking your sleep progress. Send my praise for Sleep Cycle!
gabesean2's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/17/18 11:52 AM
Hello, I love this app! But maybe rating it two stars will get the developers’ attention. Hopefully you guys are working on Siri Shortcuts support!
Mordfustang's Review of Sleep CycleReviewed on 12/17/18 11:52 AM
Wish they had more options for people who can't afford to drop $30 on a sleep app. Maybe institute a pay-by-feature element or a free trial at least. Otherwise I like aspects of the app but find it difficult to really understand all the things it can do because I can't afford premium. Appreciate the nice alarm sounds
