I was in the middle of a marathon training plan and run keepers removed the training plan from the app. HORRIBLE Customer service. I will be canceling my membership

Over all the app is good, however disappointed that it no longer offers free training for a 5k, 10k, half and full marathon!

I wish you could set personal goals for each activity.

Had used this on the same route loads, but recently it’s been off by a wide margin (I’m talking 0.4 miles). Will be looking elsewhere as it’s now a detriment to my workouts and workout planning.

I never ran before but have had a 5k on my bucket list. This app is great - I see improvement every run. By the way I am not a fitness geek. I am average - do a little stuff here and there. This app fits!!

App has kept my runs stashed for several years, and is pretty much bullet-proof. Gives you all the basic info you need to track your activities-along with goal-setting and reinforcement. I highly recommend Runkeeper to anyone-this is a great app in a lot of ways. Thanks Rob

I was never super active growing up I mean sure I liked to play outside but I never got into sports. Heck I was one of the kids who failed the mile run in health class because I always lacked motivation. Now that I’m an adult and thinking of starting a family I want to live a healthier life style and I am SO HAPPY that I found this app. I just completed my first workout and although it was tough this app was so much more then I could’ve hoped for. They coach you through the workout, help you with breathing, count down with you and constantly provide you with positive motivation. The app allows you to play music in the background from any other platform AND you can lock your screen!! They have a gps map that racks your runs, you can upload pictures, fun with friends in the app, and share your success on any social media platform. This app is exactly what I need and I can never be thankful enough to the team who made it. They give you 18 workouts for free and after that you have to subscribe to the program it’s an annual $40 WHICH DON’T GET ME WRONG IS CHEAP for you receive. There’s also weekly subscription options a free one month trial! AMAZING! I’m hoping I can become constant with the of this app and learn to enjoy running. I hope this app can bring the same amount of joy it bring to me to others as well! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Everything wants to interface with the privacy and first amendment hating Facebook and google apps nowadays. The annoying voiceover while I ran just interferes with my music and no I didn’t explore the app very much because strikes one and two were Facebook and google. I’ll find something else.

This app is very good tracker and presents all good stats to improve ourselves.

I just finished a four-mile run at probably an 8:45 minute mile pace (I’ve been running for 30 years, so am familiar with my times/distances). The app said I ran 5.65 miles at a 7:40 pace. When I looked at the map, the gps backtracked several times and went off-course quite a bit. Gotta find a more accurate time/distance calculator...

I’m training for my 7th half marathon and have used this app for running since I ran my first 7 years ago. It is the perfect app for running. I love that it gives your time, current pace, and average pace. I use the audio that tells me my stats every 5 minutes. I have an Apple Watch, but I don’t use the running app it came with, I use Runkeeper. I highly recommend it!

Unreliable, constantly shutting down while I'm thinking it's running in the background.

They keep adding features that I don’t need but fail to do such basic stuff like... track my run distance. Occasionally it just won’t record a run and I find out when I’m done. I have an I watch and when you record from the watch it can’t do elevation data even though the watch supports it. So the mileage is off. It might be time to try strata or just use the built in workout app. Sorry runkeeper. I’ve used you for years

I like running with Erin. She’s encouraging and the talking gets your mind off wanting to stop. I don’t like that you have to pay to get the entire group of training sessions. It seems to be free til you get halfway into the training

Emailed them twice to no avail regarding a setting issue. Frustrated!!!

My app tells me to upgrade to Pro, but....I am already signed up....is there a glitch somewhere?

Seems peculiar that the only goal option concerning weight is to lose weight. The app doesn’t allow you to track for the purpose of putting on some mass. I’m aware this is a running app but still. I train in multiple arenas and expect such a robust app to include both options. Pretty disappointed but everything else seems great so far. 4 stars for the weight loss only bizzario.

I started running with this app and loved using it. Started with their first 5K course —but then when I tried to subscribe to their 7 day trial version to continue the course, it wouldn’t let me access any of the Runkeeper Go features or continue the course, even when it showed I had subscribed to the free trial. Super annoying because I was prepared to pay for the service once the free trial ran out.

How hard can it be to add that?

The daily weight loss log is a little tricky to find...otherwise, this may have gotten a five star.

I picked up running in 2013 and I’ve never used another app. It’s super easy to use and customize. You can add your shoes and it will log the miles and notify you when its time for a new pair. You can put in lots of notes, even pictures, for each run. I love the running history and basic stats it provides. And I also love joining the challenges.

I have been using Runkeeper for 4 years and love it. I have logged over 2500 miles with it mostly running and some biking.

It matters where I put my phone—back pocket or purse....difference can be miles apart

I really like the map features and the ability to take photos and add them to your route and experience. App tracks your best and worst times and also gives you an accounting of your splits.

I’ve been using the app for quite awhile and have enjoyed it for years. I’ve racked up thousands of miles and still going. One thing though, I’ve been doing a lot of spin classes and tracking them on the app. Unfortunately though all the miles I put into the spin class don’t get recorded in my workouts. I one time I’d put it in under cycling but then I wanted to keep the two separate. I think it’d be nice if you guys could add mileage on the spinning activities. A bonus would be to allow us to enter it in as kilometers because that’s what most spin bikes measure in.

I am new to running and it works great for me!

When autofill failed to fill my birthdate, even after tapping on it specifically, it was a bad time. In trying to create an account, the Create button just blinked. After a few tries, I got it to go, but then sign in failed with a URL error. This is all with Facebook auth. Looks like they way over-complicated it.

I don't run much. I should but I don't! So similar story to a lot of people out there. This is a great app that tracks your speed, distance and makes it more of a game. I have been enjoying the programs you can follow. Nice to have someone in your ear while listening to music too.

Switches to share after a run. Then won’t go back to the actual run stats. Just deleted it.

I was using my first 5k with Erin and the third run never worked. Along with a couple others. I subscribed because I liked the program and it still didn’t work. I would’ve kept it if these bugs were fixed.

Runkeeper GO for the last month has sent me work outs on Sunday then they disappear before I can complete them. Sometimes one disappears, this week 3 of the workouts disappeared. Very frustrating

Please make the constant “please set your Apple Watch” screen go away!!! It’s been set up already, please stop asking me to do again and again.

Great app. I love it but considering switching to Strava because of the better Fitbit integration. Fitbit doesn’t log your runs or tally them based on weeks, months or years like Runkeeper, and I need my total miles, but I have a Fitbit Ionic and can track runs without the phone. Would like if the runs synced from Fitbit to Runkeeper, so I could still use both. Strava does this. I have all my shoes tracked in Runkeeper along with all my 2018 mileage, and I don’t want to have to import TCX files for every run.

I paid for the app and setup training plans. Every Sunday it gives me the new schedule for the week. The last month it has shown me the schedule and then deletes it after i look at it. There is no obvious way to contact Runkeeper for help and it’s aggravating to pay so much money for something that quit working after the latest update. There should be an easy way to contact the company and get help. I just did a run under the training plan and when I finished the app deleted the workout. Also the goals are terrible, no logical way to track what you are doing for those goals.

By far one of the better running apps. My only ding against it is that they use to provide a larger amount of free training plans. This is mostly me being cheap, yet this is still my choice over Strava.

I’ve been using Runkeeper off and on for over 5 years. Up until about two years ago, this was the absolute best running app bar none and if all you want to do is track runs as you’re doing them, it works fine. But ever since they were acquired by Ascics, slowly but surely everything useful eventually ends up behind a subscription paywall. Don’t tell me you’re improving things by making me pay for features that used to be free. All you’ve done is ensure I’ll never give Ascics a penny.

I’m back to being able to run, sans phone, using a reliable watch app. 4 stars because my runs recorded on the watch don’t sync up to my phone app as quickly as I’d like. But I’m thrilled to be able to use this app again! *old review* Have loved Runkeeper for about a year, but the watch app is now nonfunctional if my phone is not in range. This defeats one of the main purposes I had for purchasing an Apple Watch a few months ago — to be able to run without my phone. I’ve emailed support and will update this review if they’re able to provide a fix.

On a 5 mile run, just me, my Apple Watch, and my AirPods using RunKeeper. Everything was great until 2 miles in I get a phone call — which I promptly reject — but it’s too late. RunKeeper has crashed. It’s just the spinny-wheel and the feeling of dread that this run’s stats have been forever lost. They were. I switched over to the Apple fitness app and it worked just fine. Sigh... I e been a faithful RunKeeper guy for 7 years but this cant happen. Deleting.

12-29 - Update didn’t fix or improve anything. Still extremely inaccurate. I run laps, on an indoor track, that I know equal 3 miles. App. says I’ve run about 5.5 or 6. ??????? I’m a slow runner. I run a 12 to 13 minute mile. App. says I’m running a 3 to 4 minute mile. WTAF?!?!???? Are you ever going to fix this? 12-21 - App. waaaaayyyy overestimates running distance. Been running on an indoor track recently and doing a three mile run. Runkeeper says I’m doing between 6 and 7 ????? Because I change locations doesn’t mean the app. shouldn’t be accurate. We’ll see if today’s update improved anything.

I am really motivated by the coaching throughout my run and workout. But the battery often dies before I finish a run or race

Two quick updates after the initial one that broke the watch version and this app is still 100% dead after the initial update which was meant to add Apple Watch functionality. C’mon guys, release the last stable version as an “update” while you figure out what bits of the new one are causing the crashes. That’s damage control 101. Runkeeper was the gold standard, but after three updates in a row who’s only functions seem to be to either crash the app or dump all new data, I think it’s time to start the new year with a new running app. For the record, I have a series 4 and Runkeeper is the only app added to the watch.

Was unsure what to expect and like the the personal trainer in my ear as I embark on a running regimen, but the voice/trainer stopped working after the second run and it became just a basic tracking and stop watch. I probably tripped a toggle switch somewhere, but bc there aren’t instructions, I can’t tell what I did to make the running coach go away. Also, it’s very slow and there’s a long lag after you input settings choices. All that said, the first two runs were really cool with the trainer voice.

When will this issue be fixed? I have to use another running app Nike to track my runs. Why do I pay an annual fee for an app that doesn’t work? Secondly, when will you add audio status to the Apple Watch?

Enjoy using it but I like to switch up what I do, such as go from bike riding to walking, then bike riding again. I have to finish activity, start new, finish that then go back to start first activity all over again. This is no bueno. It would be great to keep it all under one activity! Why isn’t there a walking group to create? I am not a runner or jogger.

So I have loved Runkeeper. But running with my iPhone isn’t always practical. The Apple Watch app however is rapidly destroying my love for Runkeeper. So far, in the space of one week, I’ve had the Watch app crash and lose my run, become non responsive to inputs, fail to sync with my iPhone, and the “Next Workout in Plan” function never changes (despite the next workout obviously changing on the iPhone). The audio/haptic alerts are inconsistent and almost unnoticeable when running. This is a really poor effort from Runkeeper. Find another app that actually works if you want to run without your phone.

I have been using Runkeeper for over a year now to track my stats. I liked it so much I subscribed to Runkeeper Go. Now, with the latest updates, it is not even close to functional. It randomly crashes somewhere in the run. I lost an almost 5 mile run and then, just this morning after the latest update, it crashed at about the .8 of a mile mark. Again, I lost my run data. I had hoped for an update that would give me audio cues from the watch and show as much data on my series 4 watch as the native Apple Workout app. Right now, I would settle for an app that will not crash during a complete run. If this isn’t fixed by the new year, I’ll switch to a different app for 2019.

Shows incorrect time and distance for my runs pretty frequently

Iv sat here at my desk for an hour to see how accurate it is and it says I ran a half mile while sitting ??? Waste of app. Nike Run Club all over this

This used to be good but I recently downloaded again since I’m getting back into running and the accuracy is horrendous!!! My 10 mile bike ride was measured as 3 miles and my 0.8 mile walk was measured as over 2 miles!!! I looked at the map record afterward and instead of a straight path it had me zigzagging all over the road which means the location is not working right. After a couple of inaccurate workouts I started running my Workout app at the same time and it’s much more on point so I know it’s not my phone or Apple Watch with the problem. What a waste of space.

Randomly crashes loosing all run info. This is worse than useless, it’s demoralising. When the app works it is great. I’ve tried using for years and there has always been this problem, now latest hardware but still broken so I give up.

Was a great app before they took away the leaderboard. Used it to connect and compete with family who live in another country. It motivated us all. I’ll probably stop using it now.

This used to be my favorite app and I recommended it to everyone, but lately it freezes about half of the time and it doesn’t record the correct mileage. It’s so maddening because I’m trying to hit certain goals but can’t with all the glitching! Please fix this!

I put up with the loss of audio cues and unreliable syncing on my Apple Watch for months. But when you pushed out an untested version of the app that did nothing but crash, I realized that I just can’t count on Runkeeper anymore. Logging my runs are too important to me. You s****** up. Big time. On the bright side, this was the impedes I needed to try the native Apple Workouts app. And Oh. My. God. It was soooo much better than Runkeeper! You can customize which stats you see while the app is running. It logs everything - Pace, distance, weather, elevation, and on and on! And it doesn’t crash! So for that, I owe you a huge thank you! I have permanently made the switch to Apple Workouts!

Hi could you please implement half way notification? It is a very useful option that can help go back home quickly.

I”m paying for this app because of the shoe tracker feature. Why is it not working? The edit feature for your activity not working. I put treadmill no route and it will change to that. This is ridiculous for a paying app

I have noticed the last couple of runs I did it did not log them for my training. I had to manually log them in. So I decided to uninstall the app and reinstall to see if it was some kind of glitch. At first I was able to get back in but all of my data was gone. I have since changed my password and now I can’t get back into the app at all. I am still able to log onto my account online just not in the app. This is very frustrating since I have this app synced up to myfitness pal and Fitbit. I have since been able to log back in but all my data is still gone. Update: The glitch has since been fixed and I have not had any problems since!! Great App!

I’m beyond frustrated. Every update seems to make this app worse. No audio cues on Apple Watch. Crashes constantly now. I’m about ready to cancel my annual membership.

Update: Crashed again on the third run. I’ll try one more time with the 12/27 update. One more crash and I’m done! ————— So yesterday’s update reduces crashes? First, the app took forever to open. Then after hitting Start the timer was on 7 seconds before the stats were displayed. And worst of all, it crashed during mile 3 and lost my run. It may be time to go back to Apple’s Workout app.

Not sure why, but my brand new Fossil smart watch won’t connect to this app, even though it gave me the option to download the app on my watch. I don’t see the point but oh well I guess. Nowhere on the app, or my watch, does it ever say “connected”. Now I have to download several apps to get everything paired so I can keep track of my steps and heart rate. Big bummer!

I’ve used several running apps and this is the only one that tracks my runs accurately without freezing up or messing my mileage. Love this app

This is great to keep track of your time when running so you know when to pick up the pace & awesome for watching your progress. I would strongly recommend it.

I started using right after a heart attack and stent. Will use forever gives my family reality of results and recovery 2012 now after 6 years still works great for travels using others, walking and exploring over 900 activities and many people who follow it to life the adventure. Would like it is a sailing and travel/walk explore setting was available.

The reason I am not giving this one star is because it is very good at tracking your distance and even the free version gives you all the essential info with some bells and whistles. That being said, almost exactly half the time I cannot stop my run after I start. The button literally disappears and if I click on the blank space it opens a link to an ad in my browser. This brings me to the second big problem, dear g** are there a lot of ads on this thing. I understand that ads are how one makes revenue on a free app but I am closing 3 -4 ads every time that I want to start a run. This includes a prompt to link and share my run to Facebook EVERY TIME I start the run. There are so many good free running apps out there that don’t suffer from these problems, I’d suggest just getting a different one.

Runkeeper is ok. I really enjoyed my Garmin Connect app. and Garmin Watches (3) for many years. I’ve tried everything to get the elevation stat on Runkeeper to work with my Apple Watch with no success.

Stopped synching on this c***** iPhone. No problems with Android.

Used to love this app. Lately this app is crashing almost every other run. The upselling features in worthless if the basics don’t work. Hoping an updating will fix otherwise I’m moving on to another app

Workouts created on iPhone does not appear on Apple watch. The Watch app crashes everytime when trying to change the workout. Everything was working fine since the last release.

I like the app even though I haven’t been using it for a while - that will change now - however I’ve always wanted to be able to do two things: 1. Preset Routes - I can pick a route I want to run and the app helps me stay on the right track. 2. Half way point - The app will let me know when I’ve reached the half way point of the distance or time I’ve selected for the run. 3. BPM - Connect the app with a music app that selects the right BPM so you always keep the momentum. If I could do these three things, I would like the app even more.

I downloaded the most recent update yesterday. Went for a run today and the run won’t sync from watch to Runkeeper on my phone???

I have decided to quit using Runkeeper as the distance the app reads is consistently off, especially (oddly) on cloudy days. I have a loop I walk that is about .26 mi in length. 4x around is just over 2 miles. FitBit reads it as 2.02. Other running apps do as well. So does my car. Runkeeper consistently reads the exact same distance at about 1.84; sunny days 1.92. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling; same problem. It has also remained an issue over the course of 3 iPhones and several iOS updated.

I”m paying for this app because of the shoe tracker feature. Why is it not working?

This version supposed to add functionality to the Apple Watch, but Runkeeper now does nothing but crash on my Series 4 watch. Tried several restarts with no effect. Finally it locked up the watch to where I could only do a hard reset. Very disappointing for such a normally well thought out app.

Crashes more than previous versions, causing me to lose two long runs while in progress. And can somebody tell me why we still can’t export GPS data?? Will be switching back to Garmin since Apple Watch running apps are either unreliable or have limited functionality (or both in this case)...

I have been using Runkeeper for about 4 years, and I have never been so frustrated with Runkeeper before using this updated Runkeeper Apple Watch app. Besides the well known sync issue fix, I was waiting for the Runkeeper app complication for Apple Watch 4. So, I was very happy to see the update notice. However, I'm now really curious how Runkeeper can release this buggy app without proper testing. I had to spend a few minutes to start the app due to unresponsiveness and hanging, and after 4 miles of running, the app suddenly crashed and all running data was gone and I had to stop my training techs to the crash. It was my huge mistake to trust this buggy app. I should have brought my iPhone as a backup device. I don't know if they fixed the sync issue because my running data on Apple Watch is gone away before sync could start.

I love that it’s not hard to get started and set up a free run, I also like that you can choose to try to train for distance running, but I’m not ready for that. When I did try to see what the 5 k training was like it froze up the app even after shutting down and reopening several times. I uninstalled it and reinstalled, now it works fine again. My one complaint was that when the app had frozen I used a different one a couple of times to track the activity and thought it was lame that I couldn’t update the same thing in this app so that all of my logs were in the same place. But I was wrong, I stumbled upon how to enter extra activities manually the other day, so really there are no legitimate complaints. Thanks for a great experience, and I love how simple and beautiful the graphics are to look at.

I have been using this app for years, and it has performed wonderfully. It keeps me motivated to run daily and to always improve my time. I would recommend it highly to anyone who loves running!

Current version is no longer providing audio prompts for workout transitions (I.e. pace or activity changes) making it borderline useless.

I downloaded this last night for my long run today. I never figured out an easy way to toggle between music and the stat screen. Apparently you have to push the crown and launch the music icon to change/skip songs EVERY time. (Whereas the activity app built into the Apple Watch lets you just swipe over and the music is there without ANY button pushing or app selecting) This was enough to make me cringe after a few miles. Then, somewhere after the 5.5 mile mark, the screen just went blank and the whole workout was lost. Not a single spilt for saved. Lovely. I already deleted the app from my phone.

So I would have given this app 5 stars BUT the last update rendered my Apple Watch useless. I have been logging all my runs with Runkeeper using my watch for over a year. I updated the app like a day ago and went for a run the next morning and the app just sat there spinning on my watch! Same thing happened to my run partner, so I know it wasn’t my devices! Had to rely on Apple to record my miles! Soooo frustrating!!! I kinda knew I shouldn’t have updated by I figured it would be ok!!! NOT!!! Don’t developers test their updates!?!?!?

Latest update killed my Apple Watch 4 run keeper app. Now the app won’t open, just spins the logo before crashing.

I've used the free version of Runkeeper since 2010 - and in the early years gave the 3 or 4 most well known of the others a try but none come close to Runkeeper for reliability and dependability. No, it's not always perfect but 99.9 percent of the time it records my statistics perfectly. and when you add the fact that my data has been reliably accessible of the server a going back to 2010 - well anyone would be hard pressed to knock this app in any way. Now that said, I do not own an Apple watch so all of my comments are based only on iPhone use. There are only a couple of things keeping Runkeeper from being absolutely perfect as far as I am concerned. One is the very occasional and inexplicable cutoff of data tracking in mid-activity. However this is very rare and even when it does happen the activity can relatively easily be edited on the Runkeeper website after the fact (a feature I REALLY appreciate). The other issue - and I guess not such a valid complaint since funding for a free app does have to come from somewhere but nonetheless - I rue the day ASICS got their hands on the Runkeeper. At least the obnoxious time consuming logo display on startup has finally been reduced somewhat, but the app definitely remains noticeably slower and bloated with ASICS overhead apparently slowing it down. If only there were a way to kick ASICS and it's bloat to the curb and restore the instantaneous startup and faster syncing that we enjoyed in the pre-ASICS days, this would truly be a five - nay, SIX star app again.

A good program if you want to carry your phone. Not so good if you try to use with your Apple Watch.

I wanted to love this app but the majority of the time it does not track my mileage accurately.

I’ve been using this app on the Apple Watch (series 4) since it was released. Until the most recent update the app has been working great. Since the most recent update I can’t use the app on my watch. One of the most versatile apps for tracking runs but it is really missing the mark now. Based on other recent reviews I’m not alone with this issue. Seems like the QA was rushed or limited due to time / cost issues.

So yesterday’s update reduces crashes? First, the app took forever to open. Then after hitting Start the timer was on 7 seconds before the stats were displayed. And worst of all, it crashed during mile 3 and lost my run. It may be time to go back to Apple’s Workout app.

I have an Apple Watch 3, and the app no longer starts up when I’m away from my phone. When launching the app, the Runkeeper icon will spin around for a bit and then quit on its own. It’s been working well before the recent updates.

I love comparing my today’s to yesterday and then set goals for the future. This app is letting me do exactly that.

I purchased a subscription to Runkeeper Go and the app hasn’t change my entitlements. I’m still being told I need to upgrade in order to access training plans. Please help!

I understand paying for extras and the free version works well for those that are intense runners. I would really like it if they made watch apps. I don’t want to lose runkeeper because they don’t have a Fitbit versa compatible app.

The app usually works great. I use it for running and cycling, and for the most part I’m satisfied with it. The one glitch that seems to reappear is that sometimes the audio cues don’t work after I’ve started a run. This is annoying if I’ve already tucked my phone into my flip belt, put my gloves on, and am expecting a cue to tell me there’s an interval. Also, I’d love to be able to program in custom runs on the desktop rather than only on the iPhone, which is incredibly time consuming considering I’m doing a 20-week, six days a week custom marathon training that I need to program in. With that said, I’d still give the app 4 stars, and I’ll continue to use it. If i knew audio cues were reliable or if there were more desktop actions that could sync to my app, I would definitely buy the pro version. As it is now, I’ll stick with the free one.

Loved Runkeeper, using it about 2 years. However, Apple Watch app is such a mess and has always been plagued by issues. I was able to turn somewhat of a blind eye to that until now. After recent updates the watch app has become totally unusable.

After 3 back surgeries this app keeps me moving and always trying to do better

I’ve been using Runkeeper for a long time. I purchased Runkeeper Pro years ago and I pay a yearly fee for the added features. When I got my Apple Watch I was excited about not having to have a phone. I also loved the feature where I could secure my phone away and start a run on my watch and it worked great. Now I can’t even monitor my run on my watch. I enjoy the voice prompts but I’d also like to glance at my wrist and see how I’m doing. Seems I can’t have both without starting two separate runs and discarding the watch run at the end. I still have to get my phone gone out of my pocket to end my run, which increases the likely good of dropping a $1000 phone. When I submit a complaint to Runkeeper the response is less than satisfactory. It does work for tracking apps and is my favorite fitness app, but until they get the watch integration fix it’s 3 stars from me. The latest update (9.5) has alleviated part of the watch issue. It now displays the run on the watch again. You still must start it from the phone, but you can pause/stop it on the watch. I’d still like to have the option to start and stop on the watch as it would make it much easier to just set up, put the phone away, and hit go when it’s go time. I’m sure we’ll get there one day. Back to 4 stars.

Super easy. I like the stats it provides over other fitness apps.

The app does its best with the GPS available, and WAS accurate enough, BUT the last release has suddenly thrown accuracy out the window. My walks are suddenly now 2-3 minutes /mile slower! My suspicion is the GPS tracking has been ‘tweaked’, incorrectly. Nice effort, and appreciated!

I have used this app together with 3 other ones. When the 3 others tell me I walked 0.5 miles run keeper says it was 1.05 miles.

A lot of people use the Smart Keyboard on their iPad Pro’s. And a limitation with this combination is being stuck in iPad mode. Usually, this limitation only becomes noticeable when apps still run in portrait mode. Granted this app is designed to be taken out when you’re running, etc. But it’s nice to be able to use the app on the iPad to check your progress, add some notes (keyboard is great for this). Please update this app to support LANDSCAPE mode on all the iPads (or the iPad Pros as a minimum). Thank you!

Update 12/17/18: just installed the latest update which says it addresses the Apple Watch issues, and now the app won’t launch on my Apple Watch 4 at all. The logo just spins and then exits. Original post: There’s no rhyme or reason as to when the Apple Watch app decides to sync your workout - or not. I love this app! I started out just short walks with the dog, then progressed to longer hikes. I love that you can save pictures of different hikes I’ve taken (especially when I get to travel somewhere new). Love it tracks progress and points out new milestones you’ve achieved. Now, I’m progressing to jogging. Just found the 15 second delay. Lots of options. Does it come in Apple Watch app? (Technology challenged). I would like a tracker/watch that plays music so I don’t have to take my phone.

Great app BUT would love to see a goal option for your min/mile pace

This app is more accurate than others I have tried and gives data to see where you gain or loose time. Whether I’m doing my 3 mi route or 5 mi I am seeing consitancy.

I wanted to like this app, but 90 miles in, the sync issues with the watch make this a no-go for me. I like to run without my phone, and at this point, I can’t do that if I want to also be able to view any highlights of my run or even see my split times. I had gotten into a rhythm of refreshing the app a few times to sync, but my last run didn’t sync at all, even days later. This is extremely frustrating, so I’m done.

It would be nice to pause with my lock screen like my music. Auto pause not very on-the-spot.

The app crashes and get turned off too frequently when it is used to measure the time, phase, and speed of my riding a bike. It does crash about once every half an hour. I anxiously want the app manager to deal with this problem and fix it. It is quite a problem because the total distance cannot be measured correctly due to the app crash.

All a sudden I can’t turn off the audio tracking. Why does it sound off? Not to mention I can’t customize training plans. I might finally drop this app.

Using this app, you'd never know most of the running world uses the metric system, or that it's a simple feature to offer. A welcome but more complicated feature would be the ability to choose a less grating voice. And no connection to Twitter now? Well there goes the second star I was going to offer, and any chance of a paid subscription.

I enjoy the app, but connecting friends is problematic. If for example I want to include Jane who might not be my friend on Facebook, the surname does not show. How do I know which Jane to add?

The app should: 1. Add an activity type: Treadmill. Running times for certain distances, say a 10K, on a treadmill will be different than “street running” a 10K. Currently, the app only has one option: Running. It would be nice to see my fastest times and personal records when “street running” as compared to on a treadmill. 2. As I learned how to use the app, I changed activity from walking to running; but now my personal records are not accurate because I may have a better time when I was “walking” that doesn’t show up on the personal bests for “running”. There should be a feature that lets you edit your past activities so you can change the activity type.

Very disappointed in the latest updates where they took the comments off the feed AND there’s no “leader board” anymore. For those reasons I gave one star. Please fix and I will up my rating. Thanks

This really impressed me. Intuitive and detailed at the same time. Great UI. Neat features and syncs with my Health App like my Fitbit.

Awesome run app -only thing sometimes I try to squeeze a run in so it would be nice to see the actual time of day on the app. This way I know if I could push my run a bit farther!! :) or unfortunately have to cut it shorter.

I sorely miss the charting of both my activities and those on my friends list. It was a fabulous motivational tool and hopefully it can be installed again!! With that implemented this would be a 5 star app.

I joined the Pro version to finish Erin’s “My First 5K”. After what seems like a glitch with Workout 12 (no audio), I proceeded to contact the company. It’s been almost 2 days and I have not heard anything back. I am disappointed because I’ve been happy up until this point and now, I’m seeking running training elsewhere.

I use this tool to pace my runs to keep me moving at my preferred speed. The voice is clear and loud enough to hear over the din and the statistics are accumulated and displayed in a coherent way. Thanks 🙏

I haven’t seen a synced activity since 12/2007. It’s a little disheartening that it’s not happening.

I use Runkeeper almost daily. This app is amazing! I enjoy looking back to see how far I have come. I also love the challenges. Mostly I am excited to see all of my PRs. Way to go Runkeeper y’all ROCK!!!

I loved your app until the last update. The miles are not being tracked on the different pairs (2) of Brooks shoes. Before you could pick the pair of shoes used when you finish your run and before you save. Not now. Also, I went into my Settings/Shoe Tracking and even the checked off default pair is not tracking or adding miles. Please fix this issue. Love the app!! Update 12.14.18: Fixed it on my end. Went to website and changed each Walk to a Run. Updated the shoes on the last 5 times in my app. Works! Changed my default activity to Run. Should be Good to Go! I use the free version and really like it. Since I only exercise for health I have not opted to use the paid version. If I was in training I would use the paid version for the stats and training programs. I have and will continue to recommend this app.

Overall I like the app, but at 65, I really don’t care if my walk was the ‘34th’ fastest 0-2 miles g (or what ever distance I do); nor are a bunch of other notices or settings it has/I get. Only distance and sometimes elevation are things I care about.

I used to have ASICS training for free and all of a sudden it was frozen so I removed it and downloaded it again and not free any longer! That’s why I haven’t been using this app.

I do like this app, and I’m mostly rating it so low in hopes that Runkeeper will fix this issue. I added the “my first 5k” program on a whim, and now I can’t delete it from my Start page. I have extremely limited data on my phone plan, and so I have cellular data turned off for Runkeeper. When I launch the app, it automatically goes to the “my first 5k” page rather than the basic free run Start page, and then freezes on the loading bar because my data’s off so that I can’t navigate to any other section of the app. Finally, I had to turn data on, and Runkeeper proceeded to somehow use 40 MB of data in the 5 seconds it took me to switch to the free run start page and then turn off data again. All I want is to remove this “my first 5k” program from Runkeeper, but apparently it’s impossible to delete a program once you start it, which is absurd. Please fix this.

This helped to me train for my second half marathon. Without it I think I would have been lost. Wonderful!

Whats the point if using this app with my watch if it keeps loosing my data? Multiple times I have started the tracker only to look down two miles in to a run and see stopped on me sometime prior. I check the phone app and no data is saved. Very frustrating! Update: Nov-18 So the developer attempts to resolve is simply a redirect to their help section which has others with this same issue unresolved. Just happened to me again today after reseting watch with fresh install. Im done. 1500 miles tracked and hate to loose this data but I’m changing to Apple’s tracker.

I am having problems to run the app on my Apple Watch

I’ve been using Runkeeper for over 5 years and it’s still my favorite app for running and walking. The GPS is the most accurate I have found, the audio cues keep me on track and the app has a simple design making it easy to navigate. It’s also really cool to be able to look back at workouts I did years ago and compare to now.

Tried and tried and tried to enter and save a manual entry for treadmill run in my training plan. Useless.

I seriously use this app almost every day! Love it! Just wish when I’m out on runs that it wouldn’t k*** my phone battery.

Runkeeper provides the functionality that I need in a running app. I use the free version and it accurately maps and times runs and provides audible pace and distance cues at user selectable intervals. It also shows splits and charts for pace, elevation, and stride rate for completed runs. All the basics I need are available in the free version. I have found a couple of glitches. When I complete a run and look at the charts, the elevation chart is completely wrong. If I back out of and close the activity and then reopen it, it is corrected. Additionally, the shoe tracking function, that is supposed to track shoe mileage, does not work for me. When I entered my new shoes, it immediately showed that the shoes had 105 miles on them, and then has never added another mile, even after 150+ miles of runs.

This is the perfect app for tracking your runs. I love being able to sync my fitness app with this one. Also, very accurate mapping.

Syncing a run from my watch to my phone is beyond frustrating. It feels like a cheat code - open phone app three times, refresh, open watch app it’s just broken. Then half the time it’s “our servers are busy”. Busy with what? Custom workouts are broken in the latest release. Click on the watch to pick a workout it just hangs. Lastly the workouts randomly just stop. Even though I didn’t press stop. Don’t pay for this if you’re planning on using it with a watch.

Just opened Runkeeper after a long absence forgot how easy and fun it is to use.

Do you not even find out what users want before deleting something like leaderboard? Poor management of this app. Will stay one star until improvements are made

I am 75 years old and recovering from a heart attack. I am not walking for any sort of speed or distance. I just need to slowly build up the time I am able to walk and increase that. Runkeeper makes it easy to track that info.

As a free app this is fine, but if you sign up for any additional upgrades, be careful! First they don't send you an email or even a notification saying you will be charged. Nor they allow you to cancel any subscription thru your app. You have to contact Google play or Apple store! This is more like outright robbery.

I really used to love this app. A few years ago, I was using the training feature all the time (it was still free at that point), and it was fantastic. The push notifications really helped me remember when to do runs and motivated me to get my miles in. Once the training feature was only available to those paying for the app, I made the purchase so that I could get back in the training groove. I was super disappointed though because, even after paying for it and saying I wanted notifications in the app, it doesn’t remind you of your daily runs on your training plan. This is a great app, but without the notifications, it’s really not worth the purchase to me.

I just ran a marathon with this app. Worked great except that the mileage was not accurate. By mile 26.2 the watch had me clocked at 27.17. I’m sure the folks managing the marathon had it right. Since I don't usually run that distance often, I’m ok with the little inaccuracy thought. All other features worked great.

Mostly great - GPS mileage is high especially on a standard track. Otherwise this is a fantastic app!

I am not seeing my Apple Watch data. That was my main reason for subscribing. 2 years of bait then switched. Well here I come Nike run.

I have used the app off and on for about five years and 150 miles. It’s user friendly and the features keep me interested and engaged. I have really enjoyed the Pace Academy challenge! It has helped me strengthen my pace considerably. I’m a spare time runner and not a gadget freak but the app is easy to use and integrates well with my Apple Watch making my workouts easier and more fun. I highly recommend it!

Pretty useful and accurate app. I experience intermittent issues with updating my workouts to the server and there is no place to report the problem. Overall I like and use this application very often.

Truly an outstanding app, but man - why can’t I enter multiple specific races as goals? I have a marathon in April and a 5k tomorrow. I can’t enter the 5k as a goal because the marathon is already a goal. Wut?

I was so glad to discover this app. I had used the Nike running app for several years but could not keep using anything Nike after their misguided choice to make Colin Kaepernick their poster boy.

Have been using this app for almost a year. Has given me good feedback and tracking of my running progress. Nice to have my whole running history to look back on since day one! I’ve run over 500 miles with this app.

I’ve tried several running apps and comeback to Runkeeper each time. I run 20-30 miles a week, between 3-6 days a week. As I build up for a race, mileage will go as high as 60 miles a week. I use Runkeeper for real time tracking of the pace and distance of almost all my runs. The Good: I like the versatility of getting real time updates on my run such as average pace, distance current pace, etc. I also like having the option to shut off those stats I’m not interested in. I like being able to control how often the stays are given, such as every mile or eve five minutes. If works must be done on equipment, such as a treadmill, you can manually add it to Runkeeper to keep an accurate count of your mileage. You can also add a photo of the run (I like to snap a shot of the treadmill screen to prove my entry is accurate). You can also capture those memorable moments of a workout such as the sundry/set or a friend throwing up behind the port’o’ potty. My favorite feature of the Runkeeper app is the ability to create workout. When following a training program that calls for (for example) two miles as race pace followed by a two minute float, repeated 3 times, Runkeeper allows you to build the workout and then will prompt you when it’s time to start and end each interval. The Bad: sometimes the distance is not accurate tracked, although that happens with all apps and devices, I think. There is no real motivation to upgrade to Runkeeper Go, the premium verson, as the only real benefit is real time broadcasting of runs. This is handy during races but pretty worthless otherwise. I also have a hard time identifying friends-even friends with Runkeeper who I run with are hard to find and add as friends. Not sure what the deal is with that. Overall, Runkeeper is my go to app for tracking workouts. Despite the flaws, it gives me what I want from a running app.

Frustrating when you want to keep distance and the gps can’t connect even when it’s clear and bright outside. 🙄

Love Runkeeper. Use it everyday.

One of the features of the paid subscription that I loved was the many available training plans for different race distances and runner levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). That no longer exist and you have to use the customized training plans which are terrible!! None of them build up slowly to the final race distance. It jumps from 4.5 to 6.5 to 8.5 to 10.5 for the long runs. Nothing in between! Using these plans are just asking for injuries! It also is giving speeds way below what you should be running at. I can walk faster than the speeds it is telling me to run. This feature needs some major work!!! Please bring back the old plans. They were awesome and I have used them for years to run 5K, 10K, and half marathons. Edited to add: I have now cancelled my Go subscription since the only real benefit is the training programs. My current subscription has a few months left. If I see no progress on improving the training programs during that time, I will be moving on to try other running apps.

I downloaded Runkeeper just this week and have found its much easier to use than the previous running apps I have used. I find it more consistent in terms of the GPS tracking than other apps and I really enjoy that it has a shoe tracker so I can keep track of the wear on my shoes. Overall, I’m a big fan of Runkeeper!

I really like my fit bit Charge 2 and all of the aspects of my health that I can track with the app. Sometimes the app is way off on distance. On November 3 I ran 4.7 miles but it recorded 6.1 miles. On December 1, my daughter ran 3 miles and it recorded 4.7 miles. When you look at the map, you can see that the GPS is going all over the place. Runkeeper has a correct GPS feature, but the algorithm makes it just as far off in the other direction. One time it overstated my run by a mile and after I used the correct GPS it understated my run by a mile. I think there are opportunities to enhance the app to provide suggestions for improving your health. It would be great if the app would track your health patterns and give you reminders for small, incremental, and achievable changes that would have the greatest impact on a person's health. It would also be great if they could give you an overall health score, a compilation of all of the different measures. If someone isn't tracking something, like water consumption, that weight of the overall health score would get a zero. It would be even greater if the overall health score were validated relative to health outcomes such as costs absences personal perception of health, etc. Then you would be able to show a user how an incremental change in one of the items could impact overall health.

I run alone and this allows me to set goals, see my progress, tracks my shoe wear (before my feet and knees tell me), and lets me set my music. Awesome app. Only one suggestion: You should also offer a manual entry for those times when I run on a treadmill on those days when the weather is bad. This would allow for me to still track my shoe wear, combine my overall progress, and stay on track in one app. Thank you!

I think it’s extremely shortsighted of this developer to assume that everybody runs. All of the workouts and plans are tuned towards people who can run, leaving those of us who can only walk (for now) out in the cold. It would be vastly better to allow users to customize their own plans for workouts, giving them the flexibility to choose the level of exercise and fitness that works for them. Do that and I will give you five stars.

Love this App- up to 2,000 miles and still going!

I consider myself an enthusiastic amateur. This app does all the basics, accurately, and provides many additional tools to help enhance the experience (reports, trends, sneaker tracking, motivational emails, etc.). I started with the free version, and upgraded to GO. Happy with the additional tracking / info it provides. I gave it a 5 overall, as it is one of the best compared to others currently in market. My only negative comment is that I wish there more training plans available, especially after paying for the upgrade... overall , very worth trying it out.

I lost all my data. Can’t find a way to get it back. Can’t find a number to call or way to get in contact. I really love this app and would love to give it five stars
