I’ve been using this app for almost 3 years and it keeps getting better! It started off very basic, but every few months there’s a new feature or improved functionality. Also, I’ve had issues twice with the app and both times the customer service team was friendly, effective, and fast. All in all, a great value!

Every time I open the app it just shuts down it started out perfectly fine after i tracked my whole day worth of meals and began editing serving amounts it started getting laggy on me, I managed to edit what I needed, finished and closed the app. now I can’t even open it back up, every time I try to launch the app it doesn’t even show interface just flashes a gray screen and shuts down very frustrating since I’ve had this app since 2016 and used it perfectly fine - never on the iPad though feel like I wasted money. Fix this issue I didn’t pay for no reason this is ridiculous

I HATE that when I scan a barcode or search a food that the nutrition facts are typically wrong! It’s so frustrating to have to enter it all manually when free apps don’t have this issue. I do like how this app tracks my macros and the layout of the meals I’ve eaten, but the functioning is terrible. Currently, the app isn’t even working. Tara_T's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 8/11/18 8:24 PM
I switched to my macros plus from MyFitnessPal because I wanted an app where I could see the macros more easily at a glance. This app does just that. I like how at each meal you can see the macro breakdown so you can stick to a certain amount of grams per meal. I also like how there are options of having goals for more than one day-perfect for low and high calorie days. The barcode scanner works great. It’s rare if you find something that doesn’t come up and if it doesn’t, it’s super easy to put it in manually. There are only a couple things I would like to see in the future. 1) A connection to the Fitbit app similar to what MyFitnessPal does. I like being able to see the caloric intake/expenditure comparison. 2) The option to create recipes. Other than that, the app is awesome! Thanks!
TheBwii29's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 8/11/18 8:22 PM
Not only did I have to pay for the app, but to just set my macros I have to sign up for a monthly subscription just to make sure my days macros are within my goals. I get subscriptions that enhance and give extra features, but just setting a baseline macro for a macro app should be included, especially if you have to pay for the app. Also the good nutrition stored in this app is very poor and some of the items aren’t even in there, like raw tomatoes. Unless your talking about anything from a restaurant, it’s not in there.
DZ719's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 7/6/18 4:18 AM
Paid $20 so I can use it on computer As well as in the app. After paying, the page still wouldn’t let me log in said I had to pay again. Reached out to support, it’s been a week and a half with no response besides a generic hello message. They Cut out most of the features from when I first used it years ago until you pay the extra $. Many of the search foods are way off for macros. Pretty disappointing from a once really promising app.

amh8080's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 7/4/18 7:09 PM
I found this app a bit confusing and for having to pay for it I didn’t feel like it offered very many options. There are other apps on the market that are free to do the same thing this one does. Maybe it’s great for their clients and integrated with both of their apps but I definitely found my $2.99 to be a waste of money
Sklrbçc's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 7/4/18 2:00 AM
I’ll start with the good stuff – being able to scan barcodes for basic nutritional information is a wonderful future. And the recipe builder has saved me a lot of time. Here is the big problem I found l, For which I docked it one star; when you look up a food from the master list, it will list the total carbohydrates for that food – but it won’t subtract carbohydrates from fiber, which don’t count towards bad carbs. So foods like avocados and flaxseed meal – which have a lot of carbs, but are mostly fiber - look like very bad choices, when in fact they are very good choices. The logic should subtract fiber from overall carbs. If they would fix that, and ideally come up with a desktop application that synced through the cloud with the mobile app, it would actually be pretty ideal.
TheExtorted's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 7/31/18 6:51 PM
The core functionality is great. But I’d really like to see some additional nutrition fields or the ability to add custom fields. For example I’d like to keep tabs on my daily caffeine intake.
King Snuffy's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 7/3/18 1:57 PM
This app is almost good. At the bottom I’d recommend status bars or circles so that people can see their progress and how much further they have to go in order to achieve their macros. I love the social aspect so people can follow and I can keep up to date with my clients. I’d like to remove the Diet Coach tab because I won’t use it and it’s really just taking up space. Additionally, why can’t I track my workouts or calories burned with another app? I should be able to include calories burned and not be forced to use the macrosplus fitness tracker. Lastly, what about app themes? Making the application easier to look at will improve people’s desire to use it. Also, water consumption/weight should not be their own tabs.. It should be two buttons on the main page. All that is to say, the app is too spread out and could easily be condensed.
Yum food's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 7/28/18 1:31 AM
I do like all of the features for this app. Perhaps the barcode scanner is less than ideal, but I just manually add my foods. Then they are always in my database. I do have 3 items I wish were improved: 1) The three dots that are stacked on top of each other (the settings button). I wish it was bigger. A lot of the time, I have to push the button 4-5 times to get the settings to open. 2) I wish that when the “net carbs” toggle was set to on, that the macro goals at the bottom of the screen would show the net carbs, not just the total carbs. I’m doing low carb, and this would be a useful feature. Instead, I always have to pull of the pie chart to see where I’m at on net carbs. 3) Finally, I would like there to be a body part measurement screen, not just the body weight. Thanks!

Waste of money for an app that you have to pay another $7.99/month to use the "coach" that you can get free with other apps. On top of that it was so glitchy I couldn't even try the 7 day free-trial. Waste of $2.99 what a gimmick.

Tin Whiskers's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 7/23/18 4:55 PM
I really like that I can adjust my macros since I do carb cycling. But this is pretty much the only feature I enjoyed. The barcode scanner never worked for me, even after creating a profile to access the larger database. It would have been nice to have different measuring options for items. For example, a banana comes up as 1 cup mashed vs. the way I usually eat a banana them - straight from the peel. Adding food was in general frustrating. After a couple days, I purchased a subscription to Lifesum, where I can adjust my macros and looking up food is way easier. Deleted the app after a few days.

JoeAndyPaul's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 7/10/18 1:54 PM
Database is empty for the most part. I do like that it is cheaper than MFP. Custom macros and day-to-day goals is a winner for me. You have to pay $49.99 a year on MFP to do that. Fix y’alls database and add more options of how much of something you consume (ex. 1 cup, 1/3 cup, 1TSP of milk rather than just a 1 cup option). If you used 3TSP of milk for a recipe, you’d have to manually compute how many cups 3TSP is. This will save consumers a lot of work, which is the whole point of an app like this. It should be stress free and easy, yet this is the opposite.
pprcrfs's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/6/18 11:03 PM
The food search is limited and returns dozens of unrelated finds when the global is on. If global is off very few results. I am a MyFitnessPal user and the macro customization is why I tried it. Way too time consuming to try to get your foods into the tracker. I wasted my money. I do like the macro customization.
ksquyres's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/4/18 2:11 AM
Between the barcode scanner and the ability to customize just about everything this is a lifesaver. It takes a while to get proficient at getting around but that’s the trade off of having all the bells and whistles (which I use almost all of them) and it being simple but too limited. Really top notch and I’ve looked at a bunch.

After paying $4 for this app, the first thing that happens when I open it up is the app hits me up for more money. It wants a $10/month subscription to “unlock” all the features that I thought I had already paid for when I bought the app. DEFINITELY save your money. To spend $4 just for the privilege of paying $120/year is unacceptable.
Bfawn's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/22/18 5:27 AM
Paying $3 for an app with a barcode scanner is great and all, if the scanner actually worked! I have to change EVERY one of the numbers EVERY time I scan something. What a joke. And you charge $10 a month just so I can plug in my information to see if I’m going over in macros or not. Really wish I hadn’t purchased the app now.
Jimmy99359's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/21/18 12:34 PM
I used to highly recommend this product, but every update adds ads and feature limitations trying to force you to pay a monthly fee. Today when I tried to adjust quantities of an existing meal it wouldn’t let me without buying pro. How ridiculous!
Agatka_Valentina's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/2/18 5:15 PM
It’s not even close. For those who have the desire to accurately track their macros/micros this App is the best. I was so fed up by the mathematical errors and just flat out missinformation on MFP that I had to look elsewhere and I did not want to back to manual spreadsheets. Look no further! It’s worth the price for full functionality as well. Exporting into excel is breeze if you’re an athlete needing to send to a coach or just the detailed inclined. Having been a longtim user of MFP...it did take some transition or adjustment time. But after a week or two inputing some data I could not have been happier!

I have been tracking macros for the 5-6 years and used many Macro Apps in the past. I have yet to find an App that provides so many features. I enjoy being able to create my own recipes, manually log my foods, and look at each of the graphs analyzing my foods. I also like the joined My Workouts+ App. The App developers are also very professional and extremely nice when I sent an email with suggestions for copying/pasting links of websites with my favorite recipes. In addition, I’m wondering if there’s a way we can use our Smart watches, Fitbit, etc and have them sync so we have all of our information available: caloric intake vs caloric output (along with graphs that support this information). Thank you !

This app is great for tracking macros. It’s got a huge database of foods, and adding custom foods is easy! You can set Your goals, then monitor your progress throughout the day as you enter food. I especially like being able to “Change amount Eaten” to adjust if necessary, at meals. The barcode scanner doesn’t always work, but adding things in manually is simple!
grrreedz's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/16/18 5:41 PM
I keep looking for an improvement over MFP, but this was definitely not it! I’d rather have no database than one like this where items are duplicated many times, making it hard to find things. And I was frustrated by the non-intuitive way it always logs things by weight instead of servings. How many people actually weigh a Wendy’s frosty?!
sarahbee25's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/15/18 3:59 AM
This is the worst app I’ve ever used. Every time I open it, it asks me to sync across devices. You can’t set goals or see how close you are to meeting your macros unless you pay a monthly fee. You can’t even add multiple servings of a food unless you pay extra. SCAM! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!
whyvoteanymore's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/14/18 5:40 AM
I don’t have the time to input everything I eat because non junk food is not in the database. One egg...in ounces? Database of 500,000 foods all repetitive but incorrect amounts. Make drop downs that a food can be inputted correctly, please. Half of a raw avocado, sliced...not an option, just mashed or cubed option...I don’t have the time to put in all my foods separately and then figure out the macro nutrients. I thought that was what this app would do?
firebender123's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 6/14/18 3:06 PM

I’m not much of a review guy.... BUT, I must say I am very happy with this app. I never liked its competitor(s) interface, however I found “my macros” to be very easy and perfect for me. The best part though, is that it has a small business vibe. There has been two occasions were my data has been lost, I’m not concerned with the why. However I’m very impressed with the how, and by how I mean how they resolved the problem. Mind you, I left the account dormant for a couple years, so it’s no surprise that updates happened or whatever else takes place in the app world. All I know, is both times I emailed, and both time Jason himself responded and found a way to correct and reload all of my saved data, much of which was manually input. SO... why?? I don’t know and I don’t care. All I know, is the app is good and nothing’s perfect, but IF there’s a problem I can count on them fixing it. And that’s all I can ask for from any professional. So thank you and yes I love and recommend this app over others.

For example, sure you can have various nutrition goals that allow you to cycle but why is there no option to preprogram a week of carb cycling? That makes no sense. I don’t want to have to switch out every day. And database needs work no matter what you say.
ryanwakawaka's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 5/24/18 7:05 PM
Purchased for the macro coach then wants you to be monthly to use the feature what’s the point of paying to download the app if you have to pay more to use the features.

THE easiest way to stay on task with your nutrition/fitness goals. The custom food entries are crucial. Once you take the time to add all the main foods that you eat through out an average week the rest is smooth sailing.

0 stars !!! If you edit the amount from 1 serving to 4 servings it divides it instead of multiples it. And you can’t go back once it divides it. I’m doing trig problems to get the info right every time . What a waste . I’ll use the free app and input my own info. So it’s actually correct

This app is terrible if you are new to food tracking. Nothing about it is user friendly. They forced me to put in my last 5 days of macros counts in order to start my profile. Well if you are brand new then you won’t have those counts! The food library is a joke.
New To IPhone (330)'s Review of My MacrosReviewed on 5/17/18 3:49 AM
A great app for Macro focused tracking. Your macros are prominently displayed at the top while showing amount left throughout the day. Very intuitive for me. I switched over from MyFitness Pal for this reason. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 Stars is, because the food database isn’t quite as extensive as I was hoping. However, the bar scanner usually picks up what I have. If you do have to enter it manually it will stay in your personal database then you can always use that entry; so that’s nice. Definitely recommend.

I have tried several times to figure out Macro counting. It took this app and my trainer for it to finally make sense!! Fast forward to today. I upgraded my phone and lost all my data. I emailed Macro+ at 10pm on a Saturday not thinking I would hear anything until Monday. Not more the 15 mins later I had an email back explaining how to fix the problem!! They saved the day!! Thanks Macro+

It gets the job done. There is a little learning curve but once you get it, it is pretty awesome. I used consistently for 5 months now and had a inputted a specific macros plan. It got me the results I wanted and now I use it to keep in check with my goals. The barcode scanner has some opportunities but works. I mainly have to manually input my food but at least that way I know it is correct.

I’ve had this app before and stopped using it since I had been religiously using MyNetDiary. I had been tracking here as much as possible since the first of March. I wanted to customize my meals better. somehow I lost all of my data... not just from the first of month but everything that I had entered from prior use! As customizable as this can be, it’s a huge hassle coming from other apps 😑
MsFairLadyZ's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 4/2/18 1:30 AM
To keep this review simple. This app is frustrating in that you can’t ever find anything. 1. It doesn’t have restaurant menus listed (loaded) already like MyFitnessPal does. 2. Barcode scanner never works. 3. The numbers of things such as Grams, and Ounces are always way off and weird. You’ll scan something and even though the serving size says 12 Ounces for example it will come up with 1 Ounce. I personally would rather pay for the upgraded MyFitnessPal. This app is good for visually seeing your macros and also saving different days such as a Refeed day or rest BUT you can do the same with upgraded MyFitnessPal. Put your money towards that.

Food library is not as good as other apps that are free and it’s annoying that you can’t just add a custom food without putting in the entire recipe. So for example. You can’t add “Mexican egg scramble” or whatever and enter in the nutrition info without actually creating the recipe and putting in every ingredient. App is just ok

I paid for Pro version to replace MFP pro. In the two days I’ve had it, the inputs I’ve put in on my computer haven’t synced with my phone, even though I synced them. I emailed support and only received the “here’s how to sync” instructions”. Gee, thanks. Then I couldn’t log in. So I reset the password. And now I still can’t log in. $19.99 down the drain.
Clioche's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 4/12/18 6:45 PM
Haven’t even gotten to dinner on my first day, and I’m done with this app. Have used free macro calc apps that were much easier and convenient than this. My issues with this app: 1. NONE of the barcodes I scanned had correct macros in their database. I scanned 3 different items I had for breakfast and one for lunch, and none of the macros matched what was on the package. 2. I added lunch, breakfast disappeared. What happened ? Where did it go? 3. It’s clunky trying to add custom foods and meals. Asks you if you want to add to today, but then automatically adds to the last meal even though I was trying to set up lunch. Have to go in and change it. 4. Many issues with portions when adding custom foods. The app automatically changed certain things about portion, and I had to work at it far too long to correct the issue.

Confusing to navigate. Barcode doesn’t always work or inputs incorrect information. Difficult to enter serving sizes that aren’t whole amounts. I have used apps like this for years and this is by far the worst one I’ve come across....AND actually paid for. So disappointing…
saint317's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 3/27/18 10:21 PM
Following a Keto way of eating (I refuse to call it a diet due to the stigma around the word... If you eat food ever then you're "on a diet" is how I see it) limits the amount of carb intake, but it's net carbs not just total carbs (being into fitness, I'm sure you're aware of this). Right now it's a bit difficult to track the total net carbs on the app. Yes, you can change carbs to net carbs shown for each individual meal, but it doesn't count the net carbs in the daily totals. When looking at the daily total, summary and macro breakdown it looks like I'm over most days on my carbs and didn't hit my goal when this is isn't the case. PLEASE let us change the total carbs to total net carbs! This is the most important change I'd love to see. I also agree with some of the other reviews... The app is pretty nice, but I'd love it more if it were a bit more user friendly. The serving sizes/options are sometimes off, the barcode scanning can be hit or miss (once I got a completely different item than what I scanned), and there's SOOO many options when searching an item.. In some ways this can be nice, but mostly it's just confusing because they all differ slightly on the counts and you aren't sure which to choose, especially when you don't have a nutrition label to go off of. I think this is a pretty nice app, it's clean looking and has a lot of great features. But please consider adding an option to change daily total to net carbs! Thank you!
Prescottfam's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 3/26/18 10:58 AM
I’ve been using this app for macro tracking for about 4 months now and really like it. Straightforward, no fuss, macros only. I know lots of people that like MyFitnessPal and I tried that out for a while, only to switch back to this because it’s just so easy. Only minor complaint is that the list of foods in the database isn’t as comprehensive, but once I’ve gotten my regular and favorite items entered in I use those all the time from my favorites list. I recommend this app if you are looking for an easy way to track.
Krahnin's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 3/21/18 4:13 AM
First and foremost, I absolutely WANT to like this app. I’ve been a long time user of MyFitnessPal (which does most of what I want very well) but I absolutely refuse to pay them $50/year just to adjust my macros at fiber increments than 5% at a time. When I heard about this app from IIFYM, I was stoked and hopeful. Some of what this app does is great. Pros include: - The ability to fine tune and set Macros at very specific levels (grams or percentages). - I love the goal vs. actual graphs. But then the cons kick in, and they’re big ones: - As others have stated, the barcode scanner is extremely clunky and hit or miss. I’ve had more misses than hits, and even when it has worked, I’ve been presented with inaccurate numbers that don’t match the nutrition label I am scanning. - Piggybacking off the last one, when I have to edit info, it is also super clunky. Hard to articulate this in words, but MFP is years ahead of these guys here. If I switch from ounces to grams for a food in MFP, everything auto-recalculated. No such options in this app. The measurement type is purely a text field and has zero bearing on the info in the item. - Probably the single worst thing about the app is the search. The search is borderline ridiculous. If I type in “egg”, “eggs”, “tomato”, “tomatoes”, “chicken”, or any other extremely common thing....no results are found. I can find these things scrolling through 3-5 levels of menus...but that is ridiculous. What should be a swipe, tap, type word and see results has turned into a multi-step treasure hunting endeavor. The search alone makes this app borderline unusable. There is a lot of potential here. I may return to it in the future, but for now I am going to go back to MFP. It’s easier to deal with my Macro goals being a bit off and just knowing to adjust my day a bit than to deal with navigating this application.

I had a friend recommend MM and she told me to “be patient once you’ve got your data imputed it gets easier” I’ve been using this for over two months and it’s the biggest pain ever. If anything it makes me track less often because I can’t search for specific items and there are few “verified items” in the data base. Like other users here, I was a Myfitnesspal user and wanted something more in depth. While setting everything up I thought I made the right choice until I started using the food tracker. Like everyone here, the barcode was good for me but barely worked for my Wife’s phone. As I tried to input serving size data, NONE of the information matched. The more I edited it the more the calculations were wrong. I tried putting in serving sizes like cups, ounces, etc. and it was like it didn’t know how to compute it. Then, I put it down after frustration, closed it out and tried again the following day with the exact same results and even worse, it wasn’t even saving to my food log. In short, waste of money and time. Myfitnesspal is free and better on all accounts.

(⭐️⭐️) Dec 2018 Updated Review: I love this app for giving the option to track macros upfront and free, that option alone makes this app a cut about the others. It doesn’t come without its share of issues. With the new updates it seems that they are just adding features without correcting preexisting bugs. I’ve been a user of this app for close to 2 years... here’s my updated review a/o Dec 2018. - Barcode works for time to time BUT it will appear to have added the food to your day and then after a few short seconds your data is skewed bc the foods added via barcode disappears. This could cause you to overeat if you’re not checking to make sure your foods actually stayed and were deducted from your macros - Day Streak.. just randomly resets to 0 after about 3 days of logging. It’s annoying - Micronutrients aren’t readily available to view - Most Foods aren’t found OR the naming of foods are so off that you’re having to continue to create new foods in the database. This is especially annoying for a flexible eater or when eating on the go. - Had to find friends and share data while using this app so it makes it harder for group nutrition challenges Based on the issues listed above, I will more than likely switch to another logging app until these issues are updated. As a competitive bodybuilder, I can’t accept the inaccuracies with this app during show prep. ————————————————— (⭐️⭐️⭐️)Below is my original review. Let me start this review by saying in comparison to the "other" apps of its kind this is a 5 star app BUT......After the 2 Dec 16 update I will admit that there have been issues now with the barcode scanner. It will time out after taking what seems like forever or never actually come up with anything. Same issue with the search function. The database has gotten bigger and it's well worth the money paid for this app. The update that caused the issues with the search & barcode feature are the reason for the rating. 🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)I love this app.. I measure my food in grams and ounces.. Search feature is a bit weird but the barcode scanner works great. If there was a bigger database I'd give 5 stars!

Krn2103's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 12/6/17 3:33 PM
It’s a great app for those who know that calories don’t matter as much as macros. It’s simple and easy to use. Food data base is not as large as MyFitnessPal however the more people use it and I use it the database is expanded and a lot more accurate than MyFitnessPal. The new feature that was added a few weeks ago called Macro Coach is absolutely incredible! The feature consists on setting a goal, adding your current info and every week do a “check in” which will cause adjustments to be automatically done to keep moving forward to your goal. The more I use it, the more effectively it works. The only thing I wish is that the pace calculated by Macro Coach was according to fat mass instead of body weight. The reason is that the last few weeks I have been losing fat mass at an impressive pace BUT haven’t lost weight. If the pace is calculated just by body weight then the app will keep reducing my macros and calories regardless of making a lot of process in fat loss.

I’m coming from MyFitnessPal, I was a long time user of theirs but I kept hearing a lot of great things about My Macro+ so decided to give it shot. First off, this app is extremely frustrating to use, the app has the ability to scan barcodes, scan nutritional labels but it is usually a hit or miss with more if not all of the labels I have scanned... so guess what that means? You have to spend more time inputting the whole label for the foods you ate. The app claims that it has over 5,000,0000 codes in its food database that should pick up when you scan an item, but since I’ve gotten the app it can’t even pick up some of the most common brands out there. Secondly, you already pay 2.99 for the app, the application doesn’t give you the ability to track your macros such as Proteins, Fats and carbs for free, this is a paid feature of the application which makes the application completely useless to me. Not happy with app, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it if you are coming from MFP.
Burger addict's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 12/4/17 2:40 AM
Other than being able to customize macros this app is not worth paying for. 98% of the foods I scan with barcode aren’t recognized and I have to manually enter. And not real impressed with the search function either. Doesn’t seem like the designers keep up with this app. Please opt for a free app before spending money on this one.

Yes, the database isn’t great, BUT, just look up the information from another app, put it into MyMacros+, and it’s always there! Easy search, easy edits, few clicks, no adds, my favorite! (I don’t trust one source for numbers anyway, I look up macro numbers on multiple sites before I save it in MyMacros+)

I've been using this app for about 2 years and I can't say enough good things about it. I've compared it to other apps that people have told me to use and I just find it to be easier and more user friendly! 10/10!
Hellolaurenzo's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/28/17 7:28 PM
I literally can’t find anything I type in, even with global search turned on. I have to scan everything if I need to add it and sometimes I don’t always have the product. App has a ton of bugs, coincidently also while searching. First item is hidden by Serving Size and Brand filters, once an item is selected it’s pretty much frozen till you hit the back button. Cannot multi select when searching for items.
xLizx06x's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/28/17 4:17 PM
Literally perfect for tracking my macros. Downfall is they don't have a huge food database like MfP but it's easy enough to google or scan a barcode and enter it in the system. I’ve been using this app for about four years and it is always consistent and easy to use regardless of what features are added. Super easy to navigate as well!
Shannondaly's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/28/17 10:20 PM
A small bit of a learning curve after moving from MFP. But it's so convenient to use especially when it adjusts macros for heavy training days, and light training days through the avatarnutrition.com site. Progress has finally been made, and now I'm on my way to breaking through that year long wall I've been running in to. Highly recommend. The food data base could be a little more broad. But I find it to be more reliable than MFP.

Whether you're trying to lose, gain, or maintain weight - I would recommend this app hands down. It's extremely flexible and very user friendly. I really appreciate that it tracks and reports more than just calories and delves into fat, carbs, and protein. There's also a feature that lets me set different macro goals for different days. Like any tool, it takes discipline to use - but I highly, highly recommend it. Side note: really appreciate the recent update with nutrition bar scanning

So much of this works well but the search function is not workable compared to other apps. I have to google the item in question for nutritional numbers and manually input into Macros.

I purchased the app about a year and a half ago, previously being a MyFitnessPal user. The app had a lot of promise seeing as you could use as many meals as you want and set customizable goals. But with the promise of updating a larger consumer database the developers have seriously neglected their customers. I’ve been waiting for months on end for the database to become better and nothing while myfitnesspal has moved past the three strict meals. I strongly regret my purchase and would switch back over to myfitnesspal if I didn’t already log my weights for the past year in this program. It’s been a huge pain to manually enter all my food. An app is suppose to make your life easier, logging food on myfitnesspal with their database takes less then two minutes. While having to manually enter and create a new food item on macros+ can take 5-10 minutes. I find myself using myfitnesspal’s database to create foods on this app, I’ll probably switch back over soon and just bite my ego and take the loss on the purchase and just relog my info when I have the time. If your stuck between the two apps stick with myfitnesspal, this app has been a headache and a half as regular tracker.
Kapan crunch's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/25/17 6:53 PM
The food registary is not the greatest but you can add the foods you eat on a normal basis. MFP has a better food registary but overpriced. It does sync up with avatar nutrition but if you choose high/low days, it does not sync. You have to manually put it in for those days. A little tedious; I’ve made them aware of this several times. For the price and purpose, it’s a great app. If the could fix those 2 things, it would smash MFP.

Much has improved since I last used this app a couple years ago. Excellent improvements! Only one feature I hoped for then still hasn't happened or I would give five stars. It would be very helpful to be able to change the unit of measure on a scanned item that would adjust the macros accordingly. For example, when it scans as 1 ml I have to change to oz & factor up all the macros so I can re-use as a favorite. Thanks for the continued support of this app!
GarfieldLogan's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/25/17 11:11 AM
This app does a great job of letting you add and customize your food. I would however LOVE IT if the developers also let you track Potassium micronutrient intake from food and not just simply Sodium. Please, please, please add this in the next update 🙏🏽.

Good app, simple layout and navigation. I used this app years ago and loved it but recently redownloaded it and can’t get past how annoying the constant pop ups trying to guide you through EVERY single feature are. Once you finally get past those, you’ll be getting regular pop ups asking you about syncing old data and there’s no option to stop those pop ups/reminders. Uninstalled it after about a week because it’s just too obnoxious and not worth the hassle
jdhdbbdhehshsjjsjs's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/22/18 12:37 PM
Your app is garbage. Forget trying to login after getting a new phone. There is no way for me to email the developer because I’m not logged in, but I need help to login!! I try to get a password reset and the way the app is setup I can’t even enter info in the fields to request a reset! It asks for a verification code and there’s no way for me to even enter that into the fields. So yeah. Talk about a couple bucks wasted.

Like!!!!!!!'s Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/13/17 3:53 PM
I have been using MyFitnessPal for years, but wanted something with more customization. I love that this app allows me to set different macro goals for different days, and has more than just the typical three meal set up. However, the food database is seriously lacking. It’s incredibly difficult to find simple foods, and I’ve ended up adding almost everything so far as a custom food. Lucky for me I eat essentially the same thing every day, so after adding a food I can easily add it from the recent list. But it’s still a hassle initially. Also, the barcode feature is hit or miss. There have been several times that the product couldn’t be found, had info completely different from the box, or brought up something similar but not exactly what I was looking for. Which, again, leads to me going through the process of adding a custom food. I will continue to use this app for the simple reason that I paid money for it, but I’m really tempted to just switch back to MyFitnessPal. I wish there was a free trial because I absolutely would not have wasted my money had I known about these issues. At this point I would not recommend it to anyone.
Loyal Customer for YEARS's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/13/17 10:08 AM
Ok, I can see the database being empty when first created but this has been established for at least two years yet still an inefficient database. I still have to have MFP on my phone simply to search items not in My Macros. Not really something expected from an app you pay for
jeff the guitar's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 11/10/18 8:43 PM
I didn’t appreciate you sending me at for y’all your spam nonsense This is very tedious you have to enter in each individual thing I was looking for something that actually calculated percentages if you give a certain amount of calories so you can figure out what percentage of fat carbs and protein you need this app does not do that

My girlfriend and I love this app, and has helped us cut 20 lbs so far (1 lb a week). I started paying the $2 a month premium not because I need it (half a year without it) but because I felt like it's done more for us than what what we paid for. Note however that the macro calculator is a good start, however expect to adjust. I have it set to lose 2.5lbs a week but I'm only losing 1 (which is what I want). Overall it's awesome and I've recommended it to friends already. Thanks developers!

I would love to give this app five stars. It is much easier to use than MyFitnessPal in my opinion, the database is amazing and pretty large and it's straight to the point( All I want to track is Macros and Calories. That's IT!!) My only issue is the calculation of calories and macros. It is extremely off. I spent almost and hour trying to figure out why my macros for lunch wasn't adding up to the calorie amount displayed. This leaves me conflicted. I love the app BUT it isn't reliable. I would love some support and help with this. And yes I made sure the nutritional information was correct for each food entry. The Calculations were still off. Ughhh!

BMAN WELLS's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 10/18/17 12:22 PM
The concept is there. Partial functionality is there. Unless you eat packaged foods or at restaurants all the time, you will still need another macro book. This does NOT have raw, fresh foods calculated. So if you are some broccoli, you will have to look up the nutrition unless it was green giant frozen broccoli. Are a fresh chicken breast? Again, not in the app. I have a macro book but was wanting the app for simplicity and to ditch my notebook records and go electronic. It’s actually more time consuming to use this app with the lack of foods in the program. Like I said, if you eat out or get pre packaged foods and not fresh produce and meat items, you will probably like it.
Larry Madill's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 10/17/18 7:45 PM
Been using MyFitnessPal for years. I decided to try MyMacros because it’s the preferred tracker of Macros Inc. It’s impressive. I like the ability to create unlimited labels for meals (dinner, Lunch, second lunch whatever) and a lot of the macro focused features, but the food database isn’t there at all. It took me five attempts to find my brand of protein powder. It took my like a second to find it in MFP. Also the search function is just bad. A basic search for “Chicken Breast USDA” will return everything but the macros for chicken breast.

I quite enjoy this app! I like how much more it focuses on macros and how much more customizable to your own personal macro numbers it is. When compared to its competitor, it has pretty much everything and then some! The only thing I miss from it is the ability to “sign off” a day and have it spit out to me an estimate on what I’ll weigh in a month based off of how I ate that day. I know it’s not accurate and is not necessary, but it’s something I looked forward to when using competitor apps, and it motivated me to do that great every day, or to do better tomorrow. It helped me keep my head on straight and look towards little goals. I hope my macros + adds that feature at some point! Then it would be perfect!

It seemed like a good thing except for the fact I paid to download, then realized it was only for a one week trial then paid monthly. Why can’t you give me one week free trial?? After downloading I realized it was a bit confusing but figured over time and use that I could figure the app out. I have decided rather quickly that I don’t like this app mainly based on the fact that I cannot find a single food item?! I mean I couldn’t even find a Starbucks drink?! Starbucks!! I searched on every part of the word with or without Starbucks in the search and I could not find it. This is just one example. I can search via MyFitnessPal app and find things almost immediately. Cancelling my paid trial and going back to my fitnesspal app.

DJ Picto's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 10/14/18 7:23 PM
PROS Extensive database Barcode scanner works well Good for working out macros of fresh foods CONS Complicated interface and workflow Too time consuming to add and save meals The most useful features require a monthly subscription up to $9.99/month. By the time you’ve searched and added food to a meal category, you may as well have put the macro details in a note on your phone and simply added them up at the end of the day. For example, for breakfast today, I had an omelette made with one egg and two egg whites. I had chicken breast with it and mixed veg. I had to first search for “egg” and then find the brand and add it to the breakfast category. Then, I had to search chicken breast and choose a weight and add that. The same with mixed veg. The brand of egg whites I use was not in the database to I had to use the barcode scanner to add them and adjust the servicing size and save it. I had to do the same thing with my protein shake, but the macro values were wrong so I had to do the math to adjust the serving size. This is all before I move on to snack and lunch etc. See where I’m going? It’s useful as a tool to find the macros of fresh food by weight but that’s about the extent of its usefulness unless a complex and time consuming workflow is your thing. It is not as intuitive as the quick start menu suggests and it took me too long to navigate all the inputs and saves. If an app isn’t simple to use, it’s just not worth it. I paid for the app so I’ll use it to work out macros of fresh food but I’ll just take a simple daily log on my iPhone and use simple math to add everything up at the end of the day.

Food database is seriously lacking. And it’s so hard to find common sense quantities- like I ate half an avocado, and I have to choose between one ounce, one cup mashed (?!) etc. I found this with most fruit/vegetables when there should just be a quantity instead of ounces/cups. There were lots of things that weren’t even in the database. And multiple times I used the bar code scanner only to see completely different nutritional info from the package. This app is frustrating and not helpful.

Just downloaded this to use something other than myfitness pal. Two days of logging and it’s a pain. Seems very “buggy.” Keep having to shut it down and reopen, edits to custom foods do not save, and I’m finding I’m having to add 80% of the foods I’ve eaten in just 2 days. I’m going back to MFP and will just deal with their less than desirable UI.
Jizzleman573's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/6/18 3:59 PM

Matthew.Harding's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/4/18 5:50 PM
The food database is lacking. I wish the developer would switch to the food database that the Carrot Calorie app is using. I also wish the water intake was added into HealthKit. I’m having to sync them separately right now. But I do like the integration between the workout app. It’s just missing a little bit more to be a great app.
Gayle Ewer's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/31/18 6:34 PM
I’ve used this app for only a few days, but am too frustrated to continue. It’s not user friendly (very confusing how to navigate through the app), but I can get past that. The final straw is the actual tracker. When scanning items to add to my tracker, I tried to change the serving sizes (1 gram of butter is minuscule) and it won’t adjust the fat, carbs and protein for the new serving size. I have no idea what I’m actually tracking and how I’ve ended the day. Wish I didn’t spend $3 on this app. Waste of money, especially compared to all of the free options.
Dj. Havik's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/30/18 1:04 AM

burfeckt's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/30/18 1:03 AM
To the reviewers who complain about the food database this app probably isn’t for you. 90% of MyFitnessPal is user input (see not accurate) foods. I’ve always ended up creating my own custom foods anyway to ensure accuracy and with MM+ it’s a breeze. Also love how it shows you where you individual meal macros are as you are about to add a new food to that meal. It’s super basic, super simple, super effective. If you can’t find a food just google it and add it... it’s not the end of the world and in all likelyhood is more actuate than the saved foods in other apps anyway.
Kudrixa's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/30/18 12:59 PM
I love this app for many reasons. Tracking carbs and net carbs, tracking by mg and percent of calories, ability to quickly access frequently or recently used items, and the ability to add custom recipes are all great. Things that could be improved - searching for food items is often frustrating. The list could really be expanded and the search should allow for more specific terms so you don’t have to search through so many. The barcode scanner is really hit or miss which can be frustrating. And finally, I’d like to be able to enter a whole recipe and then select a portion rather than having to figure out the portion proportions manually.
Sinatra10's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/22/18 6:42 PM
This app is great, but I wish that it were easier when it comes to adding food items. The food library doesn’t seem as vast as some of the other apps out there, but honestly, if you aren’t lazy about it...just hand type everything.

Unlike other food tracking apps I've used, with this one it's not obvious how to add a food to a meal. How to navigate around the app is also not obvious. Not user friendly.
Amg_10's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/17/18 4:10 PM
As some of the previous reviewers have mentioned, the barcode scanner is hit or miss. I have contacted customer service about this several times but have never gotten the issue resolved. When creating a recipe, and using the barcode scanner, you are unable to filter your results by serving size or brand. The same is also true when creating a recipe and searching for a single ingredient. I have also contacted customer support about this issue, but it has not been resolved and the response was simply that they are working on it. The food database is not comprehensive. I often have to manually enter ingredients or create items which is frustrating and takes a lot of time. As others have also mentioned I, too, feel like I should just switch back to myfitnesspal, but the things that I do you like about this app are that you can adjust your macros by the gram, have different macro goals for different days, or that it also includes more meal options and simply breakfast lunch or dinner. However now that I have gone back to consistently tracking my food after taking six months off and realizing that these issues have not been fixed I am definitely frustrated by the clunky features and the inability of the barcode to work consistently.
thepope521's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/17/18 2:21 PM
It seems to be more difficult to navigate and find simple foods. Nothing ever shows up on the search bar for “verified” foods. There is very little consistency with macros on the same exact foods. For $3.00 I find it much easier and better to use my free MyFitnessPal app from the start.
Cooner28's Review of My MacrosReviewed on 1/17/18 2:17 PM
Seemed like the app I was seeking but upon actually downloading it, the functions are more basic than some of the free versions of this. It’s 3 dollars just to buy the app and then you need a subscription. It doesn’t show how your intake of nutrients matches up to the daily recommended values. Maybe it does when you pay more but I am not going to risk paying more for a c***** app.
