This has taken my health tracking to a new level. I am a gold subscriber and I do love the time stamp feature. One tweak would be to change the time stamp when you copy from a prior day. Thanks for being so responsive.

Sure wish I hadn’t purchased this app. Every time I try to enter my custom numbers from the Keto Calculator it changes them. I’ve tried under Keto and under custom. Simply does not work and under a review below where you told a commenter to “relax it’s just a bug” that tells me everything I need to know about your customer service. Ridiculous. Bye!

I’ve tried a lot of different nutrition apps and this is by far the best one I’ve found. The detailed nutrition info — all the bitamins, minerals, etc, not just label-required minimums— is better than any other app (and given ALL such info is available free from the gov’t, the other developers are lazy), the ability to add your own recipes and set your own serving sizes is sweet, and it’s easy to use from either the website or the app. It’s nice to be able to change your goals and add in exercise as well. I bought the gold membership after two days of using it because it was clear this was what I’d been looking for. AND the developer responds to feature requests. Try it out!

I have had this for a few months. And I mostly love it. But it really bugs me that all the nutritional information when comes to size and amounts is horrible. How about you put in .....piece, cups,oz, tbsp, tsp, etc. this converting everything to grams is a lot of wasted time, I could be exercising my body instead of my brain. I take photos of items and it says I will be contacted when the item is added. Never seen any yet. So don’t believe this. So get this one thing right and I will stick around.
NumberJohny5's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 6/8/18 12:06 PM
I bought this to do the ketogenic diet with and especially since it has the ketogenic settings built in to tell you your correct macros. To me the built in macro calculations seem to be incorrect. It tells me my daily intake of protein should only be 41 g. That is lower by almost 100 g based off every other keto macro calculator I have used. So I decided to use another sites macro calculator and enter in a custom program in Cronometer. I enter in my custom number including my target protein intake of 127g. Then when saving it tells me I’m suppose to consume almost 200g of protein , somehow adding more this time to my manually entered target. Been trying for two days to understand this app which is not acceptable for an app I had to pay for, I expected more. Moving on to a different app now.
BranFLAYKES's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 6/22/18 1:32 PM
Honestly for $3 initially, the least you could do is implement the custom groups for free. The way it’s set up now just makes things messy. As a new purchaser I’m seriously disappointed this isn’t free. If I’d done more research I wouldn’t have bought this app knowing I had to pay just to get this. Also up top there should be a feature that lets you see how many calories you have left in the day.

Update: It’s not as intuitive as I’d like in an app, but you can figure it out. Once you are used to it, it’s WAY better than any other food app I have used. The metrics are great and all the food is verified BEFORE it is added to the database unlike MFP where anyone can add anything and nobody checks it. Great app! First review: I had problems logging in via google. Tried another email and it worked great.

I like the app coming from another more popular app. I bought the paid version but not the subscription until testing it out and will not be subscribing for now. The interface is still a little clunky, and while the food database is much more accurate than the other popular app, it’s missing so many things that I try to search for which is frustrating. I can’t submit them as a recommendation since I’m not a gold subscriber (it seems silly to make that a gold “perk” when users are essentially helping out the development of the app by submitting missing items). I do not like that you can’t separate by meal without subscribing. The nutrient tracking is great, though, which was what attracted me to it in the first place. I wish rather than “calories eaten” it would show calories remaining - you have to swipe over to find that info, when I feel it should be front and center. I also wish when searching that it would find my recently entered items - if I start to type “365” it should show my most recently entered items that contain that term. I think gold is a little pricey for what you currently get, so will probably be sticking to the old app for now.
sboethin's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 5/30/18 5:23 PM
I love the interface of this app. Very easy to use and pleasant to look at. What I don’t like is when you input recipes there is a limited amount of options given for you to enter the serving sizes. (Ex: they’ll have tbsp, but won’t have cups or they’ll have oz, but won’t have grams). For this reason alone, I have switched to using the carb manager app. Is wish Cronometer would change this so I could switch back to using this app.

Can you please set the macros to show what you have left in grams and not how much you have eaten along with a percentage?? It’s much easier to see that I have 25g of proteins left not 15%!! Please allow the user to adjust the reading. I looked and can not find that modification. Otherwise.. I’ll go back to using my other app for keto. Thanks!

I have purchased 5 premium membership diet trackers, and this is by far the best one! I am getting closer to my goals because of this app! Premium membership for the year is low, and I love that the food diary can be customized. Most of all, the nutritional content is ACCURATE!! I’m sure the main reason I wasn’t getting good results from other apps is because the user made databases were inaccurate. Boasting bigger databases doesn’t mean it’s a better app!

I think this is or could be an amazing app. However, I keep falling short on folate even though I eat several cups of leafy greens every day. Just one cup of spinach is supposed to provide you with 65% of your folic acid but when I enter my brand, I keep getting 0% which makes me question the accuracy of the numbers. All web searches contradict what this app is doing in terms of folate. Why?

I downloaded the app after hearing that it was more accurate than others. Tried many times to sign up/log in. Gave up after messing with it for like 15 min.

Cronometer is awesome! I use it regularly to make sure my family is getting the nutrients we need on or Whole Food Plant Based diet. However, being a mom with two small children (who do not have email accounts yet) it’s a real pain to have to keep entering and reentering all of our information. I know that another account can be set up for each kid - but even then I’d need to toggle back and forth between accounts by signing in and out. To truly make it user friendly - please consider adding multiple profiles to one account. I’d definitely then give it the whole 5 stars. I lost patience and interest in the app after a could days because it’s so tedious.

Switched to this app from MFP earlier this year and mostly think it’s an improvement. It’s kind of ridiculous that the app can’t be opened without an internet connection. Would be a 5/5 if not for this inconvenience.
CrazyLegs43's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 3/10/18 8:45 PM
This app is very effective at tracking your nutrition/macros, but as someone who uses it extensively and daily, there is a glaring flaw. They do not give the user the freedom to work on a given day at their full discretion. EVERY day this happens to me: I’ll be filling in some detail late at night, and I’ll need to go check the nutritional value of something, and come back to my application, and the time will have passed into the next day, just after midnight, and the app will force forward me to the new day. This happens to me in the morning as well. The first thing I want to do is copy a few items from the previous day and paste them into my new day. By default, even if I had a previous day open that I was working on, the app will forward to the new day automatically. This is User Experience 101 — you don’t force the user around an application. P.S. To the developer, how about a toggle button in settings, to make the force-forwarding optional? Thanks. P.P.S. To the developer’s latest response: I can just reiterate that it goes against good UX principles to force a user contrary to the selection they’ve already made—in my case, the selection to add items to a given day I’ve. As example, last night, I had something to eat after midnight; I had to come back to the app about 5 times, to add various items. EACH time I was forced into the new day and had to manually go back—just a horrible user experience. As a test, I opened Calendar on the iPhone and went 6 days back. I typed this comment and then went back to the Calendar. I was not forced to the new day—because logic, and UX best practices, concludes I chose that day on purpose because I want to be on that day. I think giving the user an option to choose via a toggle button would be best: those who would rather not be forced forward could choose not to be. Thanks.

Absolutely love this app. So clever & smart & discovering so much about it to love: 1. You can choose what sort of diet mode you want your macros to be based off. I chose "keto" with moderate strictness. It ADAPTS your daily macros to your calories burned! (Wha?? I always thought keto was a "One size fits all low-carb program"....turns out: no!)<--- favorite thing about the app 2. You get a snapshot of where you are within your vitamin & mineral goals. 3. You get food recommendations to help you meet those goals! 4. Back & forth sharing with other apps (I chose this with my Fitbit- only need enter food data in one spot ). 5. Reliable nutrition data....finally...YES & thank you!!! I can't say enough good things about this app. Love, love, love!
Nooniogoolir's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 2/2/18 1:10 AM
This is a great app but needs more features including: - multiple users for families. (They expect each family member to have their own account, including kids) - better Australian features - add recurring daily foods & exercise - All in all, I love using it. Just needs more.
Smileycarr's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 2/14/18 7:06 PM
I am generally happy with the app and it is great because I do Keto and I can customize my macros to keto. The main thing that bothers me is that when I enter my own recipe I can set how many servings there are for the recipe, but then when I log the food, the options are “entire recipe” or “serving”. I have dozens of recipes entered and I can’t remember what I set as the serving size for each recipe. It would be very helpful if the serving size could be indicated next to “serving” or maybe have a link to the recipe so you can easily see what the serving size is. It is not very intuitive or fast to go back into the recipe to see many servings are in each recipe. Hopefully the developers can take this into consideration.
Myron Gloots's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 12/8/18 12:37 PM
I’ve tried other food tracking apps and this is by far the best one. The easy-to-use interface is what really separates this app from the competitors. I was actually recommended this app by a friend after I told him that I dislike most food tracking apps and I’ve used it ever since! Food is super easy to find and the barcode scanner works great. I love that everything is pulled from databases and not clunked up by manual entries.

I was looking for an app exactly like this for the longest time, and finally found it! I dont think that it necessarily deserves the bad reviews, but it does have a few hangups like the 100% on iphone 6s shows as "1..." (rather unsatisfying), and the loading times are pretty slow... overall it's a great app though!

LdyBeth's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 11/8/18 7:03 PM
I have been using this app for about a month, and I have found that the nutrient info on several items is either off or missing entirely in certain categories. Your customers who are interested in tracking micronutrients, specifically, are interested in the % of RDA — recommended daily allowance. We want to know if we have met that goal each day. Too many times now have I had to waste time attempting to find a comparable item with correct info and then have to go down the list of each nutrient — just to make sure it’s correct. I don’t know if this is a scanning flaw in the app or if it is the barcode, itself that is not including the nutrient info it lists on its own label, but it is so cumbersome. If it is a scanning issue from your end, please correct this issue.

Kitn76's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 11/2/18 12:46 AM
There REALLY needs to be a multi add function for food because going in every day and entering almost the same foods one by one by one by one gets really tedious. I do love the fact that I can see how many vitamins and minerals I’ve had throughout the day though, that part is really great! Please think about adding a multi add function to your app so it makes it more user-friendly.
Viviane V's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 11/2/17 6:33 PM
I like this app as it’s helpful to get an understanding of the nutrients I’m getting from my food, but the lack of offline food search results is forcing me back to another app. I don’t always have connectivity and other apps I’ve used have offline food search results so it’s back to that other app until Cronometer adds this feature.
Talkingmountain's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 11/15/17 5:21 PM
I’ve tried all the major food diary apps out there and for tracking calories & nutrient intake, none is as good as cronometer. Their database of foods is the most comprehensive and most importantly, its accurate. It’s easy to add foods not in the database, but before user-added foods are shared with other users, a Cronometer staffer reviews them for accuracy. So you don’t run into the problems of inaccurate user-submitted data that most of the other similar apps have It’s easy to create a custom “food” for combos you frequently eat (e.g. favorite coffee+creamer+sugar). It’s easy to track foods using word searches or barcodes. It’s easy to track anywhere (web app, phone, & tablet apps all sync). You can customize your calorie & nutrient goals (even water intake) as much as you want or let them calculate them for you based on government guidelines. The graphing options are simple and powerful. With their graphs, my nutritionist and I discovered several unhealthful patterns that we were then able to address. It’s free and the ads are not intrusive. Customer support thru the new Online (and free) the user forum is great.
AP1946's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 11/12/17 2:42 PM
The last update of Nov’17 restricted access to nutrient data. Now I can eat lousy food and find out about it later in a caloric summary. What “brilliant” mind decided to screw up a perfectly working app? Perhaps it is time to look for a better app. OK. If you plan on fixing the bug, I’ll give you 5 stars. BTW, on iPhone 7plus the app works just fine. It is a very useful and user friendly app if one wants to eat healthy. Thank you!

merrellsj's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 11/1/18 11:38 AM
When I scan some foods, the nutrition information is way off. I can manually search and find a similar food that seems more correct but that does make it a bit of a hassles entering food. There are also so many of the same foods when you manually search you have to go into each one and find the one that matches the best. On a positive note this seems to be the only app that track all the macros and micros plus caffeine logging. I did wish it would show a colored bar for manually entered targets. I won’t even consider the gold membership until I have more trust that what I am entering has the correct nutritional data.
teamnoir's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 10/7/18 8:43 PM
Doesn’t track time of entry. UI is subpar and completely unprofessional. Fields are presented under the keyboard so you can’t see what you’re entering. Portions are really strange... like, 8oz portions here where the bottle says 2 x 9oz portions, plus the field is hidden under the keyboard. The basics are here, though. Would be nice if they could get it right.

There is a setting for whether you want to include sugar alcohols in your net carbs which is nice, however when you add your own food, there is NO place to add sugar alcohols in nutrients, so it automatically counts them in your net carbs! For example I tried entering a food that had 19 carbs, 4 of which were fiber, 1 sugar & 14 sugar alcohols. I can only enter the total carbs, fiber & sugar. I tried placing a 1 in net carbs but as soon as I save it, net carbs becomes 15. I’m a gold member & feel for the price I’m paying this should be fixed. I may need to look around.

I too switched from a popular app. I like tracking my macros & micros! I had no idea the things I was missing - and missing badly, like POTASSIUM & MAGNESIUM! I strongly encourage everyone to do some research on what your body NEEDS *besides* macros. Entering food and scanning in new food (& supplements) has been pretty easy. However, I wish the layout made more sense to me?! Like, the other app made it clearer what I had “gained” from my exercise - like what I “earned” in calories (if I chose to eat them back!) this one just doesn’t make a noticeable difference in my workout efforts which I would REALLY like to SEE (& admire!).

Oogabooga! Jeklin's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 1/31/18 3:57 AM
Every day I use this, I look through all the trackers and it ALWAYS says that I've consumed trans fats that day. Every single day. Which I know is not correct because trans fats are banned in my state. What stinks is I'm not sure what the developers could even do to fix this problem. If there is something that can be done about this it would be really helpful. Usually its just a matter of scanning the product instead of typing in "cheese" or something like into the food search, but sometimes it doesn't recognize the barcode, and you HAVE to search for something like "cheese" or "beef" and I swear unless its a fruit or vegetable it always says there's trans fats in it. Not every food has trans fat in it.

I’d give the app itself 4 stars. I downloaded both the free version and ad-free version. At first the free version worked fine. chriszumberge's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 1/24/18 11:13 AM
Unlike most other apps of its kind, Cronometer also tracks vitamin and nutrient consumption. The ability to scan barcodes on food products and the simplicity with which you can add custom recipes makes the application easy to integrate into your daily lifestyle. Another key feature Cronometer offers is integration with Apple Watch and Health Kit to accurately track burned calories throughout the day.

I’ve used them all and this is the best. If you like a lot of control, detail, and accuracy, this is the app for you. I found the other apps to be inaccurate when it came to nutrition information. It takes a few minutes to set up, but the tutorial videos and online user information are easy to understand.
Capt. Bly's Review of Cron O MeterReviewed on 1/2/18 9:53 PM
My wife and I are using this app coming from MyFitness app. Our nutrition counselor wants us to use this app. The app is fantastic at breaking the details down on meals. Much better than MyFitness app!!! Rate this 5 stars! We rate this app two stars with the food database and ease to use the app. It’s perplexing and time consuming to enter in food that is outside of the stored database. Also please make it easy to save food items as a group - like coffee, creamer and stevia. So we can pick the group item and all items are filled out automatically. So we don’t like the time it takes us to enter in data but your app is very detail oriented.

This is the best option to track your macro nutrients if you're on the ketogenic diet. Net carbs are recorded and you can easily set gram limits and then just spend your day working up to your macro goals. I'm giving it 4 stars because it lacks some features I'd like to see that are in other apps such as separating meals into breakfast, lunch, dinner or iPhone X support. Better sharing with friends options would be nice so you can compete with each other. All in all I recommend it.
