Crashing, stops tracking. Lifeline needs data? What happened? Very disappointed.

I’ve purchased this app for several years. It’s totally worth it just for the downloadable maps especially when you are out of reach of cellular. I use it when I travel for work and want to find a hike nearby. The ability to attach pictures and save creates a great memory book, and if you are so inclined can post to social media. Highly recommended

I use this app for all my hikes. It gives me so many options. There’s nothing about this app I don’t like, except that it just recently started crashing a lot. Every time I open this app on my phone or my Apple Watch, it crashes. Please fix this so I can use this app again.

I got this app to use as a tool for helping me get back in shape. I had several questions and contacted customer service with them. They were quick to respond and as a result I have upgraded to the pro version of the app. I must say that this is well worth it, after getting separated from my trail today, after getting separated from the trail today on a long hike I was able to use the app to easily find my way back. It also helped me follow the trail, as the one I was in crossed several other trails and had about a dozen forks that were poorly marked. I recommend this app to everyone now and this is an essential tool for me to now use on my adventures.

I travel for work and All Trails has NOT let me down. Never been to the Midwest before but this app has helped me find beautiful walking trails. I wish more people uploaded photos however (that’s a user community problem, the app is great)

So i downloaded it!

So I’ve used the app twice as of today, both for hikes in Georgia. On my second hike, the app told me I couldn’t check-in because I wasn’t at the trailhead. Upon looking at the map, my blue GPS dot was directly on top of the trail start dot. It took me about 5 times to get checked in. Otherwise, it’s been great so far.

The list view of hikes doesn’t show the length or elevation change. You have to tap each one to see it, but the information should be in the list so you can compare hikes. Also, you can’t swipe left on the detail view to go back to the list. This is important on larger phones where you can’t reach the back button with one hand.

The maps are good, you can find lots of hikes already on the map or just create your own and suggest the trail be added. One of my BIGGEST complaints is that you can not ask questions or comment on peoples reviews. You can’t direct message people... why??? What if you’d like to know some information someone just hiked a trail could answer for you? Or try to meet up with other members for hikes? Or just comment and praise other people for their reviews and photos? Really a huge downfall so I had to remove a star for that. Additionally, it’s crazy how you can NOT drop pins, or markers to mark different locations, potential campsites, shelters, water sources, bridges, downed trees or passages blocked. And you can NOT click on any of the map details for information. Very basic short comings... :/ It would be great if these could be future updates, people could search for pins others have dropped, water sources and shelters. Users could verify one another by confirming those things are accurate and there, earning points and giving other people searching for pins the options to pick from the most reliable pins (most verified) or most reliable people (person that always leave correct information) this would also boost followers for people that are active and add this useful information.

You need to say up front that nothing is free in this app. You forced me to give you my email address to log in only to hide everything behind a membership fee. Scam.

I like the way to find trails and their descriptions. However it happens frequently that you find a x-mile trail but the app doesn’t tell you that you have to hike another c miles to get to the trail head

This app is fantastic. designers keep improving but best of all actually listen to criticism. I have contacted the team numerous times learning how to use the app and providing feedback and each time they have welcomed and actually improved upon the criticism. What a gem!

I use AllTrails every time I hike and it’s great for finding hikes, mapping my route, recording distance, elevation, etc. and the new Lifeline feature is wonderful!

Sophisticated app with a lot of information. I am now aware of a ton of hikes & trails. Pushes me with their data to hike longer or faster with their recording. I’ve used it in California & Hawaii.

Such a treat to use almost anywhere I go in the US. Would be neat if I could synch it to Fitbit.

This app has done exactly what I want except for one thing. Sometimes I want to choose a trail that is paved vs “natural” and there is no filter for that. Seems like that should hv been an easy piece to add when designing it but...

I love this app, but what do I do if there is a missing trail I want to be put into the app?

One of my favorite apps until the new update. I cant download any maps or look at any maps. I cant even sign on. Keeps saying I need internet connection when Im on wifi and cellular. Sent their support team a email three days ago, have not heard anything since.

I like to Trail rn. I’ve been going to Ruidoso, New Mexico for the past couple of years to do so and when I get there I can pull up the app and quickly find all the trails in the area along marked on topographical maps. Once I start I can track my progress on the maps and also make sure I’m staying on the trail especially if I’m running it for the first time. A great tool to have!

Being able to pull up my location and see ALL the hikes in my area, is what I was looking for! Being a travel blogger, I love having the ability to tell people where to go and how to stay safe. Love sharing the app with fellow hiking enthusiasts like me.

I love it! I’ve moved to a new town about a year ago and I’ve only ever known my town hiking spots. So to move somewhere new and not know anywhere to go was frustrating! I love bringing my dogs hiking and even better to find spots they can swim or frolick in the water. BUT once I go somewhere I feel accomplished and ready for the next. So to find so many varieties and close by places to hike is amazing! Whatever town I’m in I just look up what’s around. Whenever I’d Google placed to go there was NOTHING. Or very short and disappointing places. This app is great because it will give you direction right in the app instead of trying to Google Maps it yourself. You can map your rout and GPS where you are to ensure you stay on track and don’t get lost. I’m so much more comfortable going alone when I can see where each path leads and about how long it should take me. People also are great at providing pictures and comments of the trails so it is so easy to find. My biggest annoyance is not being able to find the place to begin with! GPS is all good and dandy but sometimes it will just bring you to the location but the location isn’t clarified. So by people uploading their photos let’s you get a visual of what you’re looking for. Overall, the best app!

This is a great app. Love that it works off line. Love the elevations so you can plan the day/rests on the trail. Love that you can mark points among the trail, but wish you could add pics and text after the fact. I don't like to stop on the trail to do the social media part - I’d like to do that after we are finished and sitting around with our shoes off reminiscing about the day over a drink!

I love this app and use it often. I recommend it to friends. I’m a fan. The only piece of constructive criticism I can think of at the moment is that it’s sometimes not clear exactly how to get to the trails. Other guides I’ve used in the past have given good, clear and complete directions, including parking information. That would be a major improvement here. Again I love the app, and kudos to all the good people who develop and maintain it. Hats off to you all! Thank you and please keep up your very excellent work!

I love a lot of the features especially the ability to export directions to a trail to a map app and the ability to follow a marked trail as you hike. But the mileage counter is way off. In a marked trail it told me I hiked 3.4 miles at the 2.6 mile marker and 8.6 miles after a 6.4 mile hike. There needs to be an Ability to comment on other people’s trail reviews so that you can correct misleading information. We got lost based on a comment someone made and other people on the trail followed the same bad information. There is no ability to report the comment or directly reply to it to help others from getting lost.

It’s quite an amazing app! It works even without connection. Even if you don’t download and pay for the premium features, there’s still all the necessary features that you need! Me and my boyfriend recently used it on a hike and it was so cool to see where we’ve been and our elevation at certain points! 5/5 recommend it!

We are infrequent hikers from FL. This was a great moderate hike. Took us 2 hr 45 min to complete. Fantastic workout and beautiful views!

I have found places to hike close to home. I didn’t realize how close these places are. I drove past them for almost 10 years. Now even when traveling I’ll look on the app because I know how easy it it to miss trails. I also have enjoyed the advice of others that is shared. I kept a page pulled up of direction to find a hidden water fall on the Tn Nc border. With no signal it was better than a map. ( Jones falls ) coming in from Elk Falls. Thank you for all the great hiking spots AllTrails.

Makes it easy to find a run anywhere you go. Also keeps you safe when exploring and need map.

The app works perfectly. Kept my progress right on target with no internet connection. I was able to alter my route for a longer hike because of the accuracy.

I use All Trails every chance I get. The information is detailed and useful. The maps are excellent, especially in gauging where I am and which way I need to go. Last week one showed me way off the trail when I thought I was on it. You can download the trail map for times when you internet connection is gone, which is quite often - thankfully!!

None of the offline maps will load. Useless!

Really comprehensive app. Gives you trail lengths, elevation gain alongside ratings and photos. Wonderful app to have for the explorer in you!

I have used this app for a couple of years now with the pro version. In the beginning it might have had issues but I think they are tied to performance issues of the phone and the network and satellite hardware. I have been to many trails and it has worked great. This new lifeline feature is going to be great especially for my wife since I usually hike alone. It has helped me get back on the trail in areas where the trail is poorly marked or no real markings at all like out in West Texas. I took a turn off a trail ( not on purpose) thinking that was the trail. It was the most dangerous turn possible. I finally sat down and pulled out my phone and looked at my all trails plot. I was way off but too dangerous to back track. So I plotted a way across the steep mountain side to reconnect to the actual trail. On thing that would be nice is if would tell me when I have diverged from the trail with a voice warning kinda like google maps or tell me I’m at an intersection and take the left turn again via a voice notification.

Though the summary indicates a cost of $2.50/month that can be cancelled at any time, AllTrails appears to bill only in annual increments—so, yes, it costs only $2.50 per month, BUT you can only purchase it by the year and they don’t offer refunds. I think it’s a very solid program, but in my high-altitude eagerness to get a trail map for $2.50, I failed to see through the guise. Just beware, you will pay $29.99 for any period of use, up to one full year. Kudos to iTunes support! I complained and got most of my money refunded.

I have only just installed this app and so far I think it’s really great. One way I think it could be better is perhaps to rate trails for safety, for example using crime stats in the area. You tend to know where the sketchy or dangerous parts of town trails go through when you’re local, but not when you’re in a new city. As a women who sometimes runs alone - I would want to know which trails are rated the safest and which ones to avoid if I’m alone. (Not just reading a bunch of reviews for each one.) Thanks!!

I used two trail apps in the wilderness this weekend and I generally found AllTrails more useful at making sure I wasn’t heading down an unmarked side trail instead of my intended path. GPS generally updated in a few seconds even deep in the woods and with enough detail that I could query the map less than a hundred feet down the path. Wasn’t sure if maps would be available without downloads at the basic level but I was able to consistently open the default local topo maps with no connection and in airplane mode.

I paid my $99, hoping the All Trails would be helpful for the Chamonix-to-Zermatt Haute Route. It is useless. Can’t find any of the trails to download.

For some reason the directions takes you only to the defined start of the trails (defined by AllTrails) but if I am closer I the defined end of the trail I would like to start there.. why can’t you change the directions to show you how to get to either end of the trail ???

It’s misleading. It’s says $2.50/mo but instead charges you for a full year up front.

You hike, bike, whatever. It showed me the trail almost to the exact point I was on. Got me thru the ADKs and showed me a lot of hidden gems around me that I never knew were around. Nice to see how many miles I log and how deep into a trail you are!

Can’t stand when sites force app download. One star.

But AllTrails delivers on the trails it does. I’m able to find tons of trails at any distance from me, and use those trails to find others. It’s a great app and a helpful community, though I do wish communication between users was more open to allow for easier Q&A.

This app AdMin needs to update the trails. I looked up near by trails and when got there the place looked abandoned and like the apocalypse happened.. no joke and maybe they should say seasonal.. there was no water and we choose a trail to walk to the falls. It should be maintained updated. Example the fires that are happening you should put something in a memo closed due to fire. In today we are looking more to apps and we hope for accuracy .

It’s really good, I love almost all of the features. The only downside is I wish they had a dedicated iPad app or atleast not a port of the phone app for the iPad. It would make things easier of mapping out a trail etc on the iPad.

We love to hike and I downloaded this this other year in New Mexico. Very easy to use great trails, additional photos / maps / Topo all great features. I’m currently on the free version but seriously considering the upgrade. Would recommend downloading all maps you’re interested in. Would also recommend using a power battery bank to keep your phone charged for your hike.

Most of our vacations center on being outdoors; enjoying God’s created nature. Having been a map enthusiast as long as I can remember, hiking trails have always seemed to be one area in the map world that was lacking. All Trails app has come to my rescue! I spend hours leading up to vacations planning where to go; now I spend most of those hours in this app.

Downloaded this app before going off-grid in the Okanagan. Lots of hiking areas in BC and elsewhere are no where close to cell signals and this app (with downloaded maps) has been awesome with keeping us on track and giving confidence to venture around. Putting our phones on Airplane mode (mine is an iPhone 7S) saves serious battery so I feel confident I can go a full day with no issues. When mountain biking I still use this over TrailForks because it more clearly shows logging roads and other trails. I’ve had accuracy issues with TrailForks but none so far with AllTrails. Both are useful when mountain biking but as you’d guess: garbage in, garbage out. The maps are only as good as the person who uploaded it (and their GPS track). I’ve just found that AllTrails has been more accurate in that regard but again it’s not perfect either.

I love all trails! It saved me and partner the very first time using this app, getting out of a dark situation on a long distance trail. But I got tell you that could of been one scare moment for some of us if our downloads disappeared on us during a no reception zone. Goes to show us don’t only rely on one essential especially technology. Always have a backup on top of a backup when things happen like this. Thank you all trail for fixing that problem. 👍 One more request. Put back the offline maps so people know it’s offline. Also needs the Park location and name of where the trail actually is for offline. That’s missing too! For example: Grand Canyon National Park Not sure why you took it off in the first place.

This app has incorrect information in it . I just tried to use it in Teton National Park. The filters don’t work well and it gave me totally wrong directions . The hikes are not all listed . I have had this problem is Colorado and North Carolina . Very disappointing.

I’ve been using AllTrails since before it was a public app, I was a beta tester. I’ve hiked hundreds upon hundreds of miles with it. I have three issues with the app. 1. It very often STOPS RECORDING my hikes and unless I check the app every few minutes, my hike will have a massive 2-5 mile gap in it where it stopped recording on its own without my permission. 2. The app doesn’t log my hikes into Apple Health, nor does it track anything health related like my heart rate in Apple Health, so I have to have Runkeeper open and running at the same time as AllTrails. Pretty annoying. 3. The trail ratings are nearly always wrong. Easy trails are marked as hard. Hard trails are marked as intermediate. I report them and nobody ever fixes them or responds.

There are several problems with this app. First, it takes several MINUTES to load the app. Why? When the data finally loads, the app is unable to find data on many popular trails that I am able to find on the desktop site. More often that not, when I am using the map option to find a hike it continually searches but never loads any info. Also, for some reason you can’t scroll through all of the photos, just the first 2-3. I am deleting the app. It’s useless.

I am so excited this app found me! I just downloaded and quickly looked at parks near me. Some I knew of, others I didn’t know about. Can’t wait to use the app! Once I’ve used, I’ll check back in. I am a little concerned about comments of the GPS not working. I usually am solo on hikes.

I love this app!! Its perfect for any biker, hiker, camper in the US. It has maps for so many trails and every time I get on it, I seem to find a new place I want to discover. Very useful and helpful.

I like this app a lot give me great trails and good pictures. I also like how people are able to leave comments about how easy or hard the trail was.

I upgraded to pro but the app wont let me use the pro functions. The support people emailed me and asked me what the problem was, and I responded with the issue and they never responded. Seems like a scam to me.

I just moved to Park City, UT and a friend recommended this app for hiking. So far I love it! I do wish you could combine multiple trails to see total distance but there’s a solid chance you can and I just haven’t figured it out yet.

Thank you all trails app for helping me find my way through big bears hiking trail castle rock! The trail was confusing if you don't rely on your GPS map from all trails that helped us not get lost!

If you like hiking, or just a walk in the woods, get the lifetime version. Being able to download the trails is a must once you are deep in the woods or just off-line.

So glad I found this site. Love the ability to find a hike no matter where I am.

Never argue about asking for directions again! Get AllTrails and know where you’re going and how soon you’re going to get there every time.

I like the app so far. It has many options and it's something I could have used back in the '70's when I was a bit younger. My biggest gripe is that I used an email link to purchase a one year subscription for $12.99 but my card was charged $14.99. I know, it's just a couple of bucks but it's the principal of the thing. I'll try it for a year and if doesn't go up too much, I will probably purchase another year because it is perfect for casual hiking.

My husband and I just spent the past week hiking trails on Kauai and Oahu, Hawaii and this app def saved our butts on more than one occasion! Not to mention, 9 out of 10 times the reviews given of the trails from previous hikers were spot on! For a free app- it has been more than worth the value! We plan to continue using the app when we get home!

Very useful apps for unfamiliar trails. Has most but not all the trails I’m looking for.

This app is great! The only thing I would suggest is adding what kind of surface the trail is. I like trails that are softer surfaces like crushed limestone for running, but I like concrete trails for biking. I’ll give it five stars when it has that information!

I have used this to plan a few hikes in Colorado. I haven’t paid for the extra features yet. The photos & reviews are good to see and read before heading out on a new trail.

We’ve used this app every weekend since I discovered it. I love to use the app to research hikes and the confidence it gives me as we hike new trails. It’s also great fun to check my mileage and timed intervals. A wonderful hiking companion!

I love the amount of trails they have and how they help me find locations but they lack a competent search engine and detailed descriptions. They should have people working for them that go from trail to trail across the country and write detailed ratings and directions

Love this app but now Starbucks has a add and every time I see the ad it takes me to the App Store to download it. I never touched the ad I just wanted to scroll down past it to see the reviews :(

Love this app. I use it every time I travel to look up what hikes are near wherever I am. The maps, descriptions, and degrees of difficulty are great for picking a trail and the comments people leave are very helpful.

This is a great app. I don’t hike without it now. Lots of useful features (trail reviews, pics, notes and tracking feature). Highly recommend if you are a hiker. Best feature was the one I least expected, the search/filter. Allows you to hone in on exactly what type of hike or length you’re looking for.

I love this app as it has great info and is really helpful in picking trails. I often use it to look at others reviews of the trails and trail conditions. My only complaint is that it seems to not automatically find your location to recommend trails. I often have to move the map to where I am. Overall really great.

I don’t know what I’d do without this app! Even when my iPhone has zero service, the app keeps working beautifully. I’ve used it in New York and now in Colorado. Can’t wait to use it while hiking the Italian Alps!!! So excited for this life saver 🤗

Only downside is: I hope they didn’t partner with Facebook to establish identity security

Best App of ALL TIME!!!

Advertises pro prices at $2.50 a month then only charges for a year. My touch pay c*** auto bought the $30 subscription without my thumb even on the home button. When I tapped the button for $2.50 a month I expected to be charged monthly for g** sake. All this tells me is they’re employing misleading advertising and marketing techniques because they don’t have faith in their product. Don’t make the same mistake and buy pro. It’s BS.

Hiked this trail on July 4. Arrived at 8:00 am with all parking lots full but one. FYI $11 CASH to park for the day. Heavy traffic on this trail. From parking lot our hike was 7.9 miles. Loved all the wild flowers and streams. The lake was nice, but an excessive amount of mosquitoes. We lingered at the lake for about 30 minutes and left with a dozen bites, bit right through my pants. Otherwise a lovely hike, pretty easy with a relatively rocky trail for the most part.

Man oh man!!! I love the outdoors BUT I’m the type that goes into the woods and hopes to find something cool (usually do) but not without doing some serious off trailing type of hiking. So I took to this app in hopes that I would find more appealing spots and wow am I impressed! Basically made me want to travel around the country and currently on a trip to Portland to see a few hikes and camp sites! Do not be fooled by lame 3 star reviews because they didn’t get their coffee this morning.... haters! Honestly you won’t find a better app and!!! And and! (I don’t have pro) but if I did (I probably will) I would never think of complaint over $2! I’d pay that forever because people gots to eat y’all 🙏🏽 blessed and happy camping!

Love the ease of use and get directions to trailhead. Great for quickly discovering Bay Area hikes!

I love seeing the outdoors but I can think up any scenario which will lead to me in unfortunate circumstances, ruining a beautiful day. Luckily this app gives me calm when viewing new places!

1- please update description for trails, some don’t hav description and you have to read reviews to get a sense of what to expect. 2- better map navigation, when “exploring” map is always populating trails and trying to compare trails can be frustrating. 3- difficulty ratings are usually off or just wrong. But app is good. GPS is very convenient and works well. Even when not in service range. Just make sure to load area maps before you start your journey

I am an avid outdoorsman and family man and this tool is an invaluable tool in my adventure belt. I take my kids out all the time and using this tool to map out and get the best route for my kids to get an epic adventure is hands down the easiest way i have found. I have only bought three apps, and have always used the free version of apps. The free version of this one is great, but I think it is definitely worth the subscription for the extra tools available. Traveling or local use, you can’t go wrong with such a rock solid tool. I’ve used this for three years now and it has gotten me to some absolutely amazing places. Definitely a must.

I love this app and use it all the time. The offline version is incredibly useful and I wouldn’t want to use anything else.

Has kept us from getting lost numerous times. So many trails not marked but this kept us on track.

If you enjoy hiking, sight seeing, and just being outdoors in general then this is the app for you!

I live on the North Shore near Chicago. I love to explore different forest preserves. The reviews on this App have helped me already. It lets you know about dog friendly and not dog friendly places. You can find trails anywhere. I highly recommend this app.

This is a great app overall. However, a big knock against it is the search. It knows my location is Alaska but when I search for a trail that I know the name of it will bring up all the trails with that name in the country with no respect for my current location. Fix this and I’d give it 5 stars

Overall like this app but...it has been very wrong a couple of times. Wrong directions, and wrong info about dog friendliness.

Great app but feel a little cheated. They advertised it as 2.50 a month so when I bought it they charged my foe a whole Year!! I was expecting a monthly fee I only needed it for a month.

I’m grateful I discovered this app a few years ago. I travel a lot and had to do a lot of research to find trails in each location. Now it is easy. Love it.

What a great resource with reviews!

I paid for the PRO version thinking I was getting something “extra.” There are a few extras but not enough to warrant the price. But the worst part about the app — and the reason for my two stars is their customer service. It’s a joke. They respond to my questions with the ABSOLUTE minimum amount of effort. It’s as if their reps have to pay for each letter they type. Stick with the FREE FREE FREE version.

Easy to use app but I have noticed most of the the trail categories (easy, moderate, and hard) are wrong. Also unable to send in suggested update info.

I would have died many times over had I not had this app.

We hiked for a week in an area without cellular data or WiFi and the maps I downloaded to the app prior to our departure would not open (error message indicated I needed WiFi to open maps), so the app was useless to us.

resets itself when signal is lost. i want to like it but this always resetting when signal is lost is beyond maddening. also initializing app data lag. annoying af too.

Pretty good app with lot of useful info. Addition of Timings , Pass info, trail directions would greatly improve the functionality.

This is a fantastic app and really useful for hiking. It would be a wholehearted recommendation if it wasn't for one problem I keep running into. The main reason for buying the pro version is offline maps access. Most trails I do are not where data coverage is available. So offline maps are critical. Hiwever, once downloaded, they just go away (expire?) within a day or so. This is incredibly frustrating given how much effort I took to slowly download these maps in poor data areas,only to find it magically disappeared before the hike. I can appreciate needing to refresh mapping data. But the app should never discard downloaded maps without user consent. I was in the Himalayas and it would take multiple days to download a map of a trek, only to see it disappear a day or to later. Also the process of selecting a custom nap for offline download requires substantial data which makes it almost impossible to select in low bw areas. This is likely not an app problem, but if the selection UI can somehow use very low detail data to just select region, that would be great. Mostly just please fix offline map expiry problem!

Could be a cool app, but they got greedy at $30/year... Or lifetime for $100.

So i already loves the app, when I was finally able to take a hike I had planned on the app, I used the map of the trail I was on. The trail wasn’t well marked so when we hit what we thought was a fork we went right. Unfortunately it wasn’t a fork but a dried up water way. I checked my map again and saw we were pretty far off the trail. I had my 3yo with me so it could have been disastrous. Once we turned back and got to the trail...my blue dot showed me I was back on coarse. I love how the searches work and love how I can save trails to lists. I downloaded this app on my galaxy and bought a year long subscription for $30 after logging In with my gmail account. After completing the purchase the app informed me that I was charged for the subscription, but wasn’t able to get access to the subscriber features and to contact support. So I wrote support an email and went to the online help after trying everything I could for about 30 minutes. The help suggested I log out of the app and log back in. I logged out and was never able to log back in because the app couldn’t connect with google even though I had a perfect internet connection. I restarted the phone, uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and nothing worked so I figured I’d download it on my iPhone. It still doesn’t work and gives the same error. Fastest $30 I ever wasted. Save your time and money and find another app.

Hiked some cool places thanks to this app. However, in the first trail hike the names of two trails in the app were switched based on the signs we found.

It’s an ok app. I am giving it one star because I purchased what I thought was a one month $2.50 subscription, but turned out to be $30 for a whole years sub! I did not sign up for that! Shame on AllTrails for using shady tricky tactics to lock people into subs

Amazing app! I love exploring hikes I might want to do. I love recording my hikes to remember which ones I’ve done. I love looking at the map while I’m on the hike to help me stay on track.

This is a great app that can be used offline during a hike on a trail and keep you from making a wrong turn. I used this app successfully on trails found in the 5 National Parks and 3 State Parks in Utah over a 2 week vacation. They had all the trails I could download and use with no cell coverage. Love it.

A lot of trails in A lot of places.

Twice in my first two days this app showed trails that do not exist. Spent too much time in the high Unitas looking for trails they claim exist and almost got lost. Don’t buy. Don’t Use.

I hike all the time and this app helped me find new places and let me know if it was dog friendly or not, what to expect and even showed some pics of the location! Very cool way to find new adventures!

The latest version of AllTrails is awesome. The customized “AllTrails” maps are perfect for what I need. They combine street info with most topo and trail info so you can research and find trailheads much easier than before. The ability to trace the elevation profile of a hike trail is very nice. I went ahead and purchased the lifetime “Pro” subscription. I also found the recorder only uses a small of a battery on my iPhone X. After a 4 hour hike 75% of my battery remained. Be sure to test any downloaded maps in offline mode by going into airplane mode before you leave. Highly recommended!

Greatly expanded our bucket list of mountain bike and hiking trails. And given that this software can work without cell phone reception, by using the built-in GPS on your phone, we don’t have to worry about getting lost in the woods. However, make sure you learn how to use it before you go on the trails by test driving it in familiar territory. This way you can gain confidence before heading into unfamiliar territory

I love the app and it has been very helpful in locating all the trails near me, but the satellite images don't appear to be updated very often. I need visuals to understand things, so it's hard for me to tell where trails are when the picture behind the trails doesn't match up to real life. Other than that, the app is great.

It’s my go to app when I’m out on the trail

I downloaded it on a whim trying to find something to help me find trails. Little did I know that it would get me home after being left behind on Ka’au Crater because of miscommunication while trying to get my group back together after we got split up! I was on the trail for half a day. But I knew where I was the whole time because of the App. I walked off the trail at 9pm and thankful to be able to report my location one last time before I entered the valley on 10% cellphone battery and draining with every flashlight flicker. I also know how to better plan for my adventures because the App just simply works even without the Pro version. Looking for a trail App to help get you there and back! This will do the job hands down.

This apl would be way better if you also add driving off road trials, I have a 4x4 and I got this app hoping I could find some roads to take my truck.

I stumbled upon this app and it is been a LOT of fun for plotting and planning. I like having my favorites and the ability to create lists to keep them sorted and organized by state. I did a short hike in West Virginia and really used up a lot of my cell phone battery. I am going to see how to just use the GPS only to conserve on that. Also going to upgrade to the PRO as well. So I can print out maps and reference the hike that way. I’m going on vacation to Rapid City South Dakota in August and I am really looking forward to doing some hikes around the Black Hills and Spearfish Canyon, Mount Rushmore, etc and sharing those experiences with my friends and on All Trails! Great App but needs to develop GPS on Apple Watch

Great app. Features available are really useful. Would rate it a 5 if they weren’t stingy with the best features which you have to pay extra for.

I was trying to use the app for a one time hike to check it out. I went to download the map, was shown I had to purchase a subscription but only showed me the monthly charge. Sure, I’ll pay for a month and see if I like the app and go from there. Went to purchase but instead of a month charged me for a whole year! Reached out to customer service immediately who was completely unhelpful and said I had to go through Apple, and Apple denied the refund. Now I’m paying for something that never even worked (the map never downloaded). Very disappointed that app that is supposed to get people to the outside enjoying nature would offer such poor customer service!

I purchased the PRO version yesterday and used it on a trail at Red Rocks. I really love all the features. From planning the trip to helping you getting there, to recording the whole adventure and keeping wonderful memories that you can share with friends, family and social media. What an amazing App! It will become a lifetime feature of my life in Colorado.

Overall great information, but not always updated. Tried to find two trails listed, upon arrival one said private property and another was not a trail, but a creek to tube down.

There are supposed to be 3 map styles you can download without purchasing pro (for $30 which is a little steep) but when you try to download you are prompted to purchase the content. Such a let down considering every time I use the app while on a hike, it seems to lose signal.

This time I can’t even log in. The keyboard entirely covers the password box and there is no way to enter my password. Total waste of money to buy the Pro Version. Edit: Just had email exchange with tech support. He told me to try Landscape mode in an app at has NO landscape mode. AllTrails has no Landscape mode. Doesn’t get any better/worse/funnier than that. Again, total waste of money.

Cannot say enough great things about this application! From being able to download trail maps and use them in the middle of nowhere without a signal, to including a compass so if you have a paper map, you can even use that. Constant user reviews and pictures posted so you can better plan out trips, and are aware of any trail issues. Even listing “secret” trails that are not officially listed within national parks but are completely worth the views! I love it. Best money spent on a full-access app hands down!

I have used AllTrails on three continents and in over 12 countries to find the most amazing hikes during my travels. It has everything I need, including the ability to filter and sort hikes and see trails that go to the tops of mountains I want to explore. I would never have had the confidence to wander this way without the trusty blue dot and the ability to see where I should turn and where I should not! Thanks to all trails for helping me see the world exactly the way I want to.

It’s just easy to use, and has everything one needs in a map. Stop wasting time online searching for a map to screenshot when you can have that and tons more at all times. Yeah, it’s well worth the $. Cheers and have fun!

This app is missing a lot of trails in my area not just a few

I have been using in glacier NP and Yellowstone. It is a great app. I have had some problems getting the offline maps to load. Can take a while and I’m not sure why. Still the best app I have found for hiking.

I have used this app for years and the latest update removed pictured trails in the WMA where I ride regularly...very disappointing.

So far so good. The intro paragraph is kind of stock. It’d be nice if there was some actual detail there about each run. Would also be great if you could put the mileage on the listing photo so that the user doesn’t have to tap in to see each mileage.

Great information to have when choosing a trail!

I downloaded this app to more easily search through trails in a popular backpacking area in Colorado. I was particularly interested in seeing some of the trails referenced on the national forest website for a campground. I searched three different trails, and could find none- only the most well known ones were included. :/ The interface seems great, I wish it included all of the trails that have their own page on the national forest sites for easy searching and info.

If you love the outdoors this app is a must! Before I trek somewhere new just type in the location where you will be and start planning your day hikes

Love the concept and I have found many good trails using this app however it could use technical work. Can be a bit slow and doesn’t seem to be moderated very well.

The app is everything you want and the lite version gives you want you need. The only reason I give it 4 our 5 is because you can’t filter your search results and put them in any order; i.e. high rating, number of ratings, lowest rated, etc.

This app is good as far as tracking your progress on a hike. It shows your blue dot if you venture off the path by accident, and can help you get back on the trail. However, their system of rating trails is impossible to figure out and I’ve searched and searched for how they rate something easy vs moderate vs hard. Two out of town friends ended up attempting a 14er because it was listed as “moderate”. An 8 mile hike with 4000 elevation gain is moderate, so what is hard? I’ve done “moderate” hikes of 5 miles with 900 elevation gain, vs hikes of 4 miles with 1500 elevation gain which were basically straight up and a lot more difficult, yet still listed as moderate. They need an explanation guide of how they rate the trails so you know what you’re getting into.

I’ve relocated for work and always looking for areas for hiking with my dog Tess. We both absolutely love this app. We’ve covered some wonderful trails in beautiful areas, literally just outside the door.

App not opening using the latest update!!!!

I really want to like this app and I’ve paid for pro for 2 years. I do a backpacking trip in the Sierras each summer and both times I’ve tried using this app the offline downloaded maps disappear during the trip. Without any explanation or warning, all the layers go away and since I’m in the mountains I have no cell or Internet. This rendering the app pointless. I hope they can fix this problem.

I have used AllTrails for over 2 years now. The software is easy to use. It includes almost all trials for all the places I went. My biggest issues with it are: 1. Lost GPS signal. I experienced this problem many times when I needed it most. In my recent trip to Emigrant Wilderness, it happened two days in a row. On June 30, I was lost near a lake and I desperately need to get back the trail near Maxwells Lake. But I could not find the blue dot that marked my position. The blue dot showed up only when after I travelled about 2 more miles. Then AllTrails simply connected my route using a straight line from the last place it knows to my current position! AllTrails software stopped updated my route the very next day when I was hiking from Cow Meadows to Crabtree TH. The problem started after I hiked 8.6 Miles from Cow Meadows. It simply frozen. Even after I stopped recording and started it again. It lasted over one hour. 2. Sometimes, AllTrails just won’t record. On July 14, I was hiking in Tilden Park. It isn’t a remote place like Emigrant Wilderness. I tried many times to record my route with no success until I got near the Vollmer Peak which is 3 miles away from where I started. I will appreciate it if you can fix the problems. Otherwise, I will not renew my Pro subscription because it is not reliable. I have to find some things that I can depend on.

Easy to use

I’ve been using this app since it originally came out and have recommended it to several people. However, with the past few releases it has gotten painfully slow to launch. It takes 2-4 minutes to launch now. This needs to be addressed. Once the app is open it’s awesome. Lots of trails to choose from. The maps, weather, and reviews are great also.

Latest Update: Can’t add photos that aren’t in my Camera Roll folder. I keep most of my photos sorted into sub folders. Please fix it so that we can upload photos from any folder again. AllTrails is great for mapping and tracking my hikes. I rarely have issues, it doesn’t drain my battery while recording, and works fine with no cell service. I love to rate and make lists of my hikes. Seriously not sure what I would do without it.

The latest update causes the app to simply spool on startup. It never loads. Very frustrating because I’ll have to use another source to plan for a hike next weekend. Highly recommend using a different app if the devs don’t mind carelessly breaking the paid version of their app rendering it useless.

When removing downloaded map layers the app locks up and ceases to function. I have to close the app and restart it to resume functionality. The removal of downloaded layers did work however.

I am writing this review on the phone using my cell phone Internet. When I go to the app it won’t let me log into it because it says I don’t have Internet. Ha ha. How can I write this review without Internet. I suppose the app is largely useless without the ability to connect over cell phone usage on an iPhone.

Love the app. The area I live is not the most hike friendly. Just not a lot of nature and nice landscapes. But this app has helped me find some nice spots. I also really like how I can use it to find good hiking trails in other cities when I travel. I love how users can leave reviews and pictures, and that it tells you how long the trail is etc. really nice app to have if you’re a trail lover like me.

In record mode, a user can zoom and rotate with a two-finger motion. Zoom in and out is fine. The rotate also works until you realize you have no idea which way is North any longer because the compass obscured by the top-level trail timing bar; there's no way to touch the compass to have North be up. As you can see, it’s a good way of rotating the map while zooming in or out and then not knowing which way north is any longer. That’s a recipe for getting disoriented. Please fix immediately!

I love this Ap! I have been traveling a lot lately and because of this ap I have been able to hike everywhere! Alaska, Oregon, Canada, Florida, North Carolina... it has never steered me wrong and so far takes me right to the trailhead. The descriptions and photos of the trails help me feel comfortable with where I am going and how hard the hike will be. Thanks AllTrails for getting me off my rear away from the shopping centers and on the trails no matter where I am.

I completed the Adirondack 46 high peak trails in 2018. I have summited half or more of those mountains using my AllTrails app. I obsess over our hiking routes and spend at least a few hours for each hike reviewing our plan using the AllTrails app and the AllTrails map layer. Great print out to hand off to family so they know where we are going and can identify landmarks quickly if needed in an emergency. On the trail, at least 2 or 3 times, we have made quick course corrections leading us back to the trail using the GPS follow the trail feature! Not a substitute for a compass (app loaded on my phone, battery could go dead) but I always have it ready if needed. AllTrails is great for local adventures. I never realized how many trails were right in my backyard! I spent a frustrating amount of time with other apps before landing on AllTrails. You cannot beat this app!

I’m not going to say much because I just got back from summiting Mount Moosilauke - tired. I got lots if help and information from the app. Thank you for creating it!

Excellent trail companion. Near my home is an elaborate but poorly marked trail system. It was easy even for experienced hikers to get lost. All trails solved that problem. I also like how it gives you distance , elevation, etc.

...so little time. I’ve had this app for a couple years but I have only now begun to realize how helpful it is. I’m going to remember it wherever I go so that I can get in a hike when I least expect it. Great app with real reviews from real hikers.

The best thing about this app is the pure quality of the reviews for trails. The reviews are more often than not incredibly detailed and clear and have on more than one occasion made sure I’m actually prepared for a trail, or simply avoiding it for difficulty or boredom! This app is by no means perfect. You will find that if you use this regularly locally there are a lot of missing trails you discover on your own. The user route listing is often limited and there are often far more if you study a trail map and recommended routes when you get to the park. Worse than this, I have pre-downloaded trail maps and found missing trails vs the official park marks, with no way to easily suggest or correct the trail maps. If nothing else it’s made me worried enough to buy a paper map in most parks as an emergency, which is not ideal but arguably what you should do anyway. If travelling around this app comes into its own. We’ve planned every trip away using this app and loved it. Rarely a bad trail once you filter by rating and easy to find something in a 25 mile of anywhere in the US. The recording function is nice but way too intensive on battery. I can’t complete a 3-4 hour trail with it and my iPhone 8 Plus, so I’ve ended up buying a GPS watch. Combined with this and the GPX downloads to a watch and uploads back into the website it is a great emergency map, though. I’ve had pro for nearly a year and like others here I wonder if it’s worth keeping given I end up with a paper map most of the time to be safe but there’s no doubt this app was worth the first year to see if I liked it enough.

I love this app! You can easily find trails anywhere you want to travel. I love that it rates them as well from easy-hard.

I just have the free version and it works for assessing hikes I want to take and can do really well. Eventually I will Upgrade to maps that download and I ca. See when we are out of reception. O wish there was a was to better organize Favorites to areas and or another category for todo.

Good app, I use it most often when I’m visiting areas I’m unfamiliar with and looking for a quick hike.

Now I can go birding and focus on the birds instead of being worried that I will become hopelessly lost.

Information is good. Usually pretty up to date but every once in a while there are trails that you need permits for an stuff and it doesn’t say. I wish you could post questions or reply to people’s comments because I have questions about trails and this would be the perfect place to ask them.

Outstanding info on all the trails around Santa Fe. Have hiked about 5 and plan to do more within a few days. Retired and plenty of time to do them all with the good lord willing.

We used to have to do a lot of homework on where we were going on trails and involved a lot of reading searching on the Internet etc. This app is taking our experience to a whole new level and we are delighted we are able to utilize its many awesome features

I love the way this app records my routes. It also helps me to keep track of my progress as I continue to myself back into shape. The data collected lets me further understand what types of terrain my body is ready for.

I’m a veteran hiker who knows his way around topos, GPS’s and such. This app is a great amalgam of all of it as well as how to get to the trailhead and what others think. Kind of like finding a local outdoor outfitter and asking for advice but without the randomness of getting the person who knows what they’re talking about. It’s also like the manifold “best hikes” guides but it’d be 3 feet thick and with crowd sourced feedback. I use it wherever I hike now but I still carry an old school compass and paper map. It’s a great app all right but if your batteries die, you lose signal or trash your phone you’d better have backup.

If you enjoy pre planning trails and/ or camping trips, this is the app for you! Feature laden, precise, great community based reviews and photos. What more could you ask for!

Only been using for a few weeks, but so far so good. Easy to use interface, app seems intuitive and accurate. So far seems best for mountain biking and hiking. Needs ‘dirt bike’ and ‘ATV’ categories to separate from generic ‘off-road driving’

All Trails is the perfect encyclopedia of trails. It pulls all the essential trail information from all over!! I am excited to plan my next hike with it!!

I’ve had this app for about a month or so. I unintentionally upgraded to the pro version ($99.00) because I had my fingerprint set with the App Store. I called the company phone number listed on my visa statement, only to hear a recorded voice. You’re then told to go to iTunes.com/bill regarding charges, then the call dies. After going to the site, you run into another dead end. AllTrails has zero customer service. I’ve yet to talk to a person from company

I’ve tried numerous trail/tracks/hiking apps and this is by far the best one out there. It is a great way to find trails and record your tracks. I use this app to research all of my backpacking trips and day hikes.

Paid $29 for the app but was not of much help while in Yosemite past few days. I need a manual how to use the app. Thinking about applying for a refund. Also the price says 2.99 a month, but charged a full amount kind of deceptive.

Easy to search and discover hiking trails. You can filter on difficulty and types of activities like hiking and biking. I found a bunch of trails close to my house using this app. Has reviews and photos as well. You do have to pay to download offline trail maps, but well worth it when you lose cell signal.

If you travel and you know where you’re going to hike, this is the app for you. It’s worth the purchase. Download the maps before your hike and you’ll never be lost. I like being able to see what other people see on their hikes and determine if it’s worth going to. I like to drive to different cities throughout California and while I’m there I always look for hiking spots. This app is great and spot on. Even the places that are “hikable” but are now private property. I appreciate that little warning. It’s the little things that make this app what it is. Even if you don’t buy the yearly subscription just being able to look and read other hikers reviews make it worth having in my phone.

The user experience is sublime and the details are perfect. Great information about every trail. Awesome filters. Can’t say enough positive things.

The Pro version is well worth the cost and the ability to download and save maps for use (even when no cell phone reception) is great - it works really well. I’m delighted to have this ability to track our progress along hikes - especially those where the trail marks are absent or confusing. Thanks for making our hikes all the more enjoyable.

This is my go-to hiking app for trails not in most guidebooks. You can choose a location then search for trails. Links to directions to get to trailhead is convenient. I even use it to look for ratings on trails I might have found in hiking books. The disadvantage of app is only shows the 1 trail and not links or extended trail. Small downside. Considering upgrading to pro (paid version) but not 100% sure what I will use of additional functionality

I can count on plenty of walking or hiking options anywhere I go.

I’ve just started hiking recently. I got lost one time and almost scared myself. After that day I stumbled onto this while looking for another place to go. When you download the place you are going to and there is no service or off line, all you have to do is look at the satellite, zoom in and it will still guide you with your little blue dot to your entrance or out. Even the highways. It has helped me know exactly where I’m at on the trail and how much further. It has given me peace of mind just having it. I do wish they had a feature if you do get yourself in trouble you can just hit a button and will ping or signal for help and show the authorities or stations where you are at. Maybe they do have it and I just don’t know about it.

Some of the trail maps and distances are off, but this is a good app to research trails and to use for basic information.

The maps are really accurate and it give you a breakdown on calories burned, elevation traveled and moving time vs standing time. It’s really a great app!

This app makes just going and heading a trail so amazing easy and simple! It has turned my average family hiking days into amazing memorable hikes that my whole outdoorsy family loves! Thank you for this rad app! 🤙 see y’all on the trail!

This is one of the best apps I have ever used, hands down.

My only complaint is I wish I could open up my plan/favorites list and it had a map feature where I can see all of them on a map and be able to see how close or far away from each other they are.

Don’t like having to pay to download maps but I love it still. Would be nice if the map that shows your progress had a compass and other trails on it because that made it a little difficult to tell which trail you are supposed to take but all in all nice job!

I love his app because it allows me to discover new trails from my fingertips.

I started using the app when I moved to Palm Springs, CA. The area is full of mountain trails but had no idea where to go.

Great app for planning your day hikes in advance. Ratings and topo maps help you avoid “biting off more than u can chew”.

So you use this app to record your hike. You hike and then you drive away, forgetting to end the hike’s recording. No problem! AllTrails has a way to edit this from your desktop computer, except it doesn’t work and when it does save the edited endpoint you lose all of your hike information. Support won’t help you, blames you for their issue and has no solution or way to retrieve the deleted information. Very disappointing and definitely not worth the extra money I paid for the Pro version.

I’ve been using All Trails for over 2 years. I like it though now it seems everything I want to do costs money. I can’t even download a map to print. This is frustrating to me. Other then that the trail info and hiked noted are great.

Works very well. It’s nice that the maps on here are recordings from others who have hiked it. I didn’t do the premium or anything, you don’t need it. Love it!

I travel a lot for business. I use this app all the time. Because of it I have discovered many beautiful parks and trails.

This app is very user friendly. You can see reviews of trails, save your favorite trails, do searches based on all kinds of categories, see the length of the trail, and all kinds of helpful tags for each trails. Strongly recommend. It costs money but it was the best purchase I’ve done!

I was new to hiking and backpacking when I came across this app, and it’s been a blast!!! I been in places all around NC, SC, and GA, planning on expand my adventures to TN I’m sure I’ll get to places I could never imagine before thanks to this app. Recommend 100%

This app has really helped in determining and planning hikes based on skill levels. In addition it has helped tremendously in finding trailheads that are sometimes difficult to find!

I love this app. I've used it to track hikes, plan hikes, find new hikes, print topo maps for hikes, get information on hikes, and take pictures of my hikes. I've hiked the Grand Canyon and the Smoky Mountains with this app. This is the best app I've ever used.

This is a great family app if you want to get out and enjoy nature. The information on trails that are pet friendly is fantastic as we like to bring our 4 legged kids along with us as well. Keep your app updated as they are constantly updating their trail maps.

My favorite app for finding hiking trails. You can create filters to fit your needs for length, activity, or highest rated and closest to your location. There are great reviews and pictures for each trail!

The close button does not work after removing downloaded map layers. Have to force close the app and restart.

Very useful app but need to list the mileage for each trail in the brief description. Also need to be able to sort by mileage.

AllTrails is a really good app to find trails wherever you go and to stay on the trail once you are out hiking. I really like knowing what to expect as far as altitude gain, length of trail and difficulty when I choose a trail. The reviews give you extra details about shade cover, parking, and water needs along the way. I have been using the app for a couple of years now and I love it so much I recently bit the bullet and went Pro so I could download the maps and save my phone battery life.

All the best trails, the best descriptions and very accurate trail ratings. topographical maps with elevations are very helpful, and "near me" trail suggestions are great!

I was recently hiking in Utah and wanted to be able to see the trails when I didn’t have service so I signed up for a Pro account. The advertising on this is deceptive- the annual account is shown as $2.50/month, yet they bill annually, which means that even if you cancel it after 1 month, you get charged for the whole year. If that is the case, they need to list the REAL price when you sign up. To make matters worse, the trail wouldn’t download properly so I never got to use it while offline. I managed to not get lost, but no thanks to this app!

Fantastic hikes, nature walks, wildlife, glorious mountains close up and personal, extraordinary vistas - Moose, chipmunks, magpies, scenery to die for... I could go on and on...

They should have left miles per hour or at least give option for both. & the pause button now asks every time “are you sure you want to pause”! Another feature not needed or at very least needs option to disable.

Have used this app the last two weekends and really enjoy it. Keeps track of distance and time, but love the ability to post pictures of the hike and save.

I love this ap! My family likes to hike wherever we visit and AllTrails has made that much easier! I love how you can start with a trail mapped out for you, then you can explore the area without fear of getting lost. I can’t count the number of times I have used AllTrails to help lost hikers get reoriented. I have become a much more adventurous hiker now that I know that I will always be able to see a path back to the car.

I upgraded to the pro version of AllTrails because the AllTrails app won’t allow you to download trail maps unless you do. So under the impression that downloading maps meant I would have them for offline use, I paid for pro. After all why would you have a trail app that you couldn’t access trail maps offline when a lot of trails have no service. Anyway, I downloaded about 20 maps for Yosemite National Park after upgrading to pro thinking I would have all the trail info I need for my trip, but no dice! No maps worked when I got there because apparently downloading the map doesn’t mean you can access it offline. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed and also feel that forcing people to upgrade to pro to “download trail maps” is false advertisement because downloading something means you should have it for offline use. I would like a refund.

What do you mean 5.5 miles in and out? Does that mean 11 miles?

I downloaded this app while on vacation and it helped us pick a wonderful hike and had tons of information.

I love to hike, but often when I am exploring new places, my research online only brings me only to the most popular/touristy places. This app has allowed for me to find hidden gem hikes everywhere I go, and I love that the directions will take you right to the trailhead! All Trails has even led me to hikes that I never knew were in my own city! Great for anyone looking for trails for hiking/biking at every level.

AllTrails helps keep me on track where ever I go! The reviews really help me determine what to expect on various trails so I can plan ahead. With the app I am able to track all my hikes and find the way around without getting lost!

This is the best app. Besides the old map and compass, you have the ability to track your gps location on the marked trail you can download from each hike. Keep in mind GPS is run by satellites in space so cell reception is unnecessary to use which saves your phone battery and can track every step to make sure you’re on the path. I recently did a technical alpine lake wilderness hike and ran into 6 groups of lost hikers from excess snow and brush blocking the trail which allowed me and my dog to have an entire crystal blue lake all to ourselves for 2 days. If it wasn’t for the app, I wouldn’t have been able to navigate the trail as effectively and knowing within 10 feet if I had stepped off of it. Pay the 30 dollars for the pro membership and save yourself from getting lost and also epic states of solitude are in your favor like mine thanks to this also application. 🤙🏾

I love this app. You can record your walk/hike/run, and it gives you time, elevation, distance, pace, and calorie stats which I appreciate while trying to train for a 5K. I also love taking pictures on nature trails, and you can do this in the app and it marks the spot on your trail that you took the picture. The only issues that I have with the app is that it can be slow to open, probably because of all the pictures in the app, and it always suggests you share your hike/run afterwards.

I downloading this app not knowing what to expect. I quickly fell in love with it. It is one of the most helpful apps I’ve ever used. I love hiking and with this app, I can find more trails to explore.

So I’ve been planning a trip with my brother and found I can print nice maps with legends in multiple different formats.

This app has been really helpful finding trails to hike and giving accurate directions and descriptions.

This is an amazing, super easy hike. One of my favorites and super close to my house and there fore a day to forget it’s actually a hiking trail (part of the Pacific Coast Trail.) It’s a quintessential Oregon beach hike with many gorgeous rock formations, tide pools, beach combing and drift wood for a beach fire. It is not uncommon to have this beach all to yourself (save during the windsurfing season.)

We need to have the capacity to edit the route we walked via phone in case we forget to end hike and drive away.

This app is fantastic for hitting the trails. Let’s you know right where you are so you never head off trail. Recording your route is great for going back and figuring out pacing based on what sort of terrain you were tackling. Not sure about the calorie counter as it was hundreds of calories off of my watch, but that’s not what you’re using this app for anyways. Would be 5-stars if the watch app also showed maps like some of the other apps out there. Instead it is basic record route and some analytics. Would be nice to have those maps on my watch so I don’t have to pull out the phone every time, when I just need a quick check of where I’m at. Overall, a fantastic app worth every penny of the subscription for the pro elements.

Your app is absolutely helpful and amazing at identifying trails. The only thing I’ve noticed is, the directions to trailheads are not always accurate. Is it possible to remedy this?

Best app to find trails, was enjoying it a lot, until recently... Since last couple updates the app gives me an “Internet connection required” message and won’t let me find trails because of that. Can’t even log in to view my saved ones. Please fix it ASAP

I bought All Trails Pro. It appears that if you don't know the official name of a trail, you are out of luck. I was looking for a trail today - Metacomet trail, the section in the West Hartford CT reservoir, part of New England Trails, designated a "National Scenic Trail." In short, a heavily used trail that should be in a trail map. I searched a dozen or so potential names with no luck. I looked for a "help" option where you could ask a question of a person but that doesn't appear to exist. Not even email. It seems if the app knows where I am, it should be able to find trails near me. Maybe it can, but it's not obvious to me on the app, and there does't appear to be a way to ask anyone. Very disappointed.

It’s garbage. I’ve purchased it twice and both times it immediately shows me an error and won’t let me download maps. I hate this app!

AllTrails is my digital “go-to” when I don’t have a physical map to read. I love to be prepared so seeing and understanding the topography, different rules and regulations for certain areas is really important. I love that users can upload their own photos and recordings. It makes it so easy to see where you’re going before actually going. You can see what almost everything is like in all seasons because of the uploaded photos. It’s great!

Love all the information. Do wish it had written direction to trail heads as maps doesn't always open depending on service.

I love love love this app. I use it ALL the time. When I’m traveling or when I just need a new adventure at home. Individuals can map out their routes for you to follow or you can create your own. It has a gps feature that shows you where the actual path is, which is helpful if your like me & get lost. The pictures people share are great and give you a realistic expectation of what you will see. It’s just great. If you love hiking I highly recommend it!

I am constantly amazed at the information available in the All Trails app. Makes it easy to stay on the trail, and “know what’s coming!” It is good not only to scope out new trails, but also comforting to have along on trails that I am not so familiar with.

Alltrails makes hiking and finding good hiking wherever I am easy. I travel a lot, and finding a good hiking trail that suits me nearby has always been a struggle. With alltrails, I can find hiking trails in any location of my choosing, their reviews, and any other information about them instantly.

This app changed my life. I pay for pro because it's so worth it to be able to download trails. I hike all of the time and I'm able to check out trail conditions. I would recommend a feature where you can look at reviews from certain months, but other than that, the app is great

This app is great - love the ability to download maps for when you might be out of cell service. But if you do have service, you can track how you are following the trail - super helpful on trails that are not well marked. Love it!

Love all trails. I hike alone a lot. And when I’m on a trail that’s not well marked It’s like having an expert trails companion in my back pocket. Well worth the money!

I dislike apps that force you to make irrelevant (to me) choices about the app before i can use the app. Here is what I mean. I just went into AllTrails to find a map in a particular area. I typed in the name of the trail. Up Pops a window that asks, “do you love all trails? Yes or no?”. I have not used AllTrails enough to know if I really “love” it or not. But the problem is I can’t proceed unless I say yes or no and I really do not know one way or another yet. Why is alltrails so b***** worried about whether someone likes them or not? It’s like you’re trying to force people into saying one thing or another when often they don’t have an opinion yet or their answer might not fit into one of your boxes. I really wish you wouldn’t do that. It is a nuisance.

I definitely recommend this app if you truly love hiking. I rarely(never)waste money on apps, but I did pay for AllTrails pro and it seems to be worth it so far.

This app is absolutely phenomenal. Not only does it have hundreds of hiking options, but the driving directions and trail trackers have been 100% accurate. I have never been more happy with an app.

I have used this app for about four years now and would not head outside without it. It allows me to record the trails that I’ve been on as well as plan for the trails that I want to go on. The make a list feature is useful in that it allows me to look at different potential trips and keep track of which trails I am interested in for each.

Easy way to discover new trails to explore with useful information to know what you’re getting into. The ability to search nearby trails is wonderful for finding convenient getaways while out and about.

I use this app ALL the time!!! It’s so helpful for finding trails and all the details you need to know about them as well! Love that you can gps track and see all the ins and outs of what to expect from the trail- plus see other reviews where people can provide their own feedback on the trail. Love the map and list views and that you can filter your searches based on what you are looking for in a hike. You can use it anywhere - I’m in Georgia and went on vacation in Hawaii and was wonderful! If you hike - get this! Oh gosh! And now it tracks pace and calories as well!!! All around great app!!

Wherever your are you can find a nice hike very useful.

Provides lots of information and photos for each trail. Membership is offered so you can track your trail as you go but I don’t feel this is necessary. Find a trail, use the app to get directions there and you’re good to go!

It’s my favorite trail app and was perfect until I went to use it today. I know I’m a Pro user, but when I went to download the trail map, I was prompted to upgrade; however my profile shows pro and I know I’ve paid the one time fee. I went to restore purchases and then the app gets stuck on the loading wheel.

Love the app and would gladly subscribe for downloadable maps, etc, but price for that is way too steep.

I love this app. It is very detailed and accurate, there are so many different trails to choose from. I would give it 6 stars if I could.

We use this app to find trails to explore, to find trails that fit our available time, to find trails that fit our challenge goals. Its detail provides very useful advice. And on the rare occasion we have become lost, it found our way back. We also use it to find trailheads. We highly recommend this app.

Great app, but I really only use my Apple Watch when on the trail. I’ll use my desktop or iPhone/iPad app to find or create routes, but I use the watch when hiking. This being the case, the Apple Watch app NEEDS to add support to show the maps/route rather than just start/stop. Without better Apple Watch features, I’ll be using Gaia GPS instead. However, if AllTrails adds the map feature to the watch I’ll be happy to switch to this app and give a 5-Star review!

Overall good app. It is helpful to find local trails and paths. I use it to find new places to run or to see if I can come up with a new route in the area I have been running in. The only thing I would like to see change, is if the user can add things to their routes when editing. For example it would be nice to see on a map of trails where public/trail bathrooms are located. Another example would be parking, there are some parking places along trails that on one knows about unless you look it up on another app.

Helped me get out of dangerous situation twice. Only problem it has is it doesn’t let you download and pay one trail at a time.

All Trails has been a lifesaver, literally. I’ve used this app when on trail and wandered off trail. Whether you have reception or not, the app will keep track and log your progress. Also, great while traveling. I’ve found my favorite trails not looking for any via “All Trails” app.
