Learning curve is fairly easy, however, the available 3D models of furniture, appliances etc is extremely thin and unimpressive. I also don’t understand why this APP does not support the most universal DWG cad files. UPDATE: Sep 6, 2016 After a month of using this APP, I found a few things that really bug (no pun intended) the cr@p out of me. The APP goes berserk once in a while when adding 3D and/or texture files (no matter how small the file size is). The file automatically goes on the main screen even though I didn’t ask for it to be added to the actual file I’m currently working on. When I try to remove the file I just tried to “add” on the 3D database, it completely removes it from the database. This is when I’m prompted to “quit” the app and restart again and also restart uploading the same file I had originally uploaded (because as I said it completely removed it from the 3D database). Some functionalities i.e. rotating an object is a “hit or miss” thing. Most of the time I’m able to rotate an object without holding the “option/alt” key but other time you really need to hold the “option/alt” key because the “rotate” function does not automatically or just won’t “show up.” It’s really bizarre. The “zoom” function is what bugs me the most. It has a “zooming” mind of it’s own. It “zooms” to wherever it want to zoom and not to the actual floor plan I’m working on. It often “zooms” several feet away from the actual floor plan I’m working on. It’s really annoying. I have been trying to figure out how to “create a video.” I have been unsuccessful but not ready to give up yet. I’m raised my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars because I have tried 3 other similar APPS and found Sweet Home 3D to be the best so far.

This is a great App, no question. Is it perfect? probably not, but let’s be fair, this is value for your money. I’m a former industrial designer, and I used in the past all the known powerfull Cad design softwares like AutoCad, SolidWorks, 3D Max, etc… and know all the hours and days it take so you can get descent results (Incredible ones btw, but again it takes long for you to get there). This Sweet Home 3D is a bless!, one single night and I was able to se you the Improvement of my house would look like, really, bulding the frame an all walls of my house took me 20 mins max! so intuitive, yeah I know, having experience in other softwares gave me an advantage but it would have taken me a few good hours to do it in Autocad or similar, modifications are so easy to do, amazing! puttong windows doors, furniture, colors, with a very descent result was such a joy!. Doors, windows, entrances, furniture might not exact what you have or full standard but you can customize to get close enough… have to say some things can be improved, layer management and slection of objects that are overlayed can be tricky, but for the money these are minimal glitches. This software has been created to take you a 80-90% close to the real thing, in a few hours you’ll see the full result, for me it makes it a Excellent app! fully recommend it, worth the money and more, My wife is in Interior designing and she loves it already, few minutes she can sketch things. Congratulations to the developers!

For quick and dirty this really worked well. I was able to quickly import pictures of tile I wanted to try out in a bathroom and apply it to the walls. Really told me quick if things were going to work!

Looking over reviews of many design apps, my hopes were not high although this had good ratings, this is one of those times when I was WOWED by an APP. Within an hour I had ‘built’ the existing room with windows, doors and existing structures; all while learning the App and tying to remember X and Y coordinates from a long time ago. All was very intuitive EXCEPT, and maybe this is just because I do not work in this software arena; when setting the position, I expected the X and Y points to be the beginning of the object then the dimension’s move over an down from there. Not the case, but easy to work with, X and Y remain at the center of the object. This makes a lot of sense if an object is placed in the center of a wall then resized. I like the App and allows me to visualize without having to cut graph paper objects as I had done in the past. I do not know about the others, but this works very well. I am coming up with other uses for the App. Hmmm.

if you’re not a architect for a draft person using drawing programs you will have a hard time using this program. For support they refer you to go to the forum, good luck finding your answer. For the price it’s too expensive for what you get. Do yourself a favor and find something else.

At nearly every turn the app freezes. Try to make alterations it freezes, try to print it freezes etc. It looks useful, if only it would work. At this point it looks like a total waste of money.

I sue the program to layout manufacturing facilities. I’ve found nothing better or simpler to use than Sweethome! Could hope for a bigger choise of tables, such as stainless steel for laboratories, but the existing furniture works ok. Thank you developers.

This app is great to pick up quickly. In an hour and a half of learning, I was able to create the first floor of the house quickly. Obviously thi is not going to replace a professional app, nor is it intended to. This is great for someone trying to decote or map out their home floor plan and contemplate renovations. Only thing I'd love to see is ability to put carpet or tile down in an easy way.

I like this program. I have used it for years to help layout furniture in a new apartment or home. I do wish it had a more vibrant 3D model library. However, you can usually get things to look close with a little work.
