I have been using Comic Life since when it was free and pre-installed on MACs and have found each version to be better than the last. Better than scrapbooking or photo books, Comic Life brings family photos to life and, when mixed with a little humor and sarcasm, a treasure that will be kept for years. I have done books for my father, friends, and family and given them as gifts and gone to their homes years later to find them still be used as coffee table books, there edges well worn, and the bindings well used. My father actually took his to his retiree get together and showed it off. The interface is simple, easy to use, and when coupled with a basic photo editor, will yield you results you will be proud of! This version is no exception and for a samll upgrade if you don’t have version 3, but have an earlier version, or under $30 for a first time purchase I think you will find it to be a tool that you will use often.

Every time I try to make a comic, it crashes on my MacBook Pro Retina. And then I loose all the work I was creating. It could be something as simple as editing a type bubble and then, Poof! it crashes. Tried making a very basic comic 4 times and each time it crashed. It's a beautiful piece of software, but I think it still has a few bugs to work out. But I do give the developers kudos for what they've made and are striving for. Perhaps a little more tweaking and it will be perfect!

I had comic life at my school for the children to use. When we printed off our comics the pixels were sufficient to create good quality collages. Now that I have a new computer and bought comic life 3 I was extremely disappointed that the pixels were so poor that the collage was blurry and very fuzzy looking. My pictures have high pixels, but the program changes them into poor quality when saved to print. Had to use another collage program to get a good quality collage picture to print. Very sorry I spent the money on this app.

I decided to make a comic on my husband’s birthday. Since I’m not even good in editing I was looking for an application thal would make my work much easier. I saw many of them, but this one is the best i have tried - inspiring effects, frames and fonts. It took one evening to make a great story from our photos and everyone at printing service thought i am a professional graphic designer :) Highly recommend Comic Life 3!

It’s a dose of inspiration to just use it. I do wish it supported “Revert To” and more lavels of Undo, but it’s great.

Black Friday deal got me to purchase this app. After installation, it keeps crashing when I add any objects (picture, photos, etc.). Any idea how to fix this???

It may not appear to be perfect yet… however, at this price, I have to do it. Having used "Comic Life" for many years, I found that they do listen and they do update as a response to the concerns they hear. For me the update from Comic Life 2 is well worth it. If anything, just for the automatic updates from Apple's App Store. I do like the extra features and Comic Life 3 is by far the best at what it does. ~ Trent

I am a writer venturing into the realm of graphic novel for the first time and tried this app not expecting it to do nearly as much as it does. I am happy to report it has become an integral part of my process. And its kinda fun. Nice to be able to say that about software...

Health Careers Educator's Review of Comic Life 3Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PM
I am so excited to use this product for a project that our high school students will be starting this fall. They will be creating comics for middle school kids about various careers in health care. But in the process, they will be learning about what it takes to be a successful health careers student themselves. We have not had any trouble integrating larger sized photos into our prototype comics. We are using MacBook Pros....wonder if the older computers are the ones having trouble with the large file size?
