Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMI like this program, I have nevr had any problems with crashing or anything like that. It does take some time to learn, it’s not as easy as they make it sound but it’s easier than some others and for it’s proce works very well

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMI'm a long-time Acorn user, and it's just a great tool. There's clearly a lot of thought that goes into the design and implementation, and the changes over time seem very well calculated and non-disruptive. Also, the "Create layers for windows when taking screenshots" feature is pure gold!

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMUnforgiveable. I would never have bought Acorn had I known the developer cared nothing for existing users. I already have the cable company for that.

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMI personally love this editor. I’ve previously purchased version 4 and now 6. It’s one of the few I can actually figure out how to use and is laid out nicely. It makes doing complex things relatively simple — especially when compared to free tools like Gimp.

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMAcorn is fine for modifying images quickly, adding filters, crops, etc. Working with more complicated layered files is where it begins to fail as a PhotoShop replacement. Dealing with text is a nightmare! Acorn is great for people who need a slightly more powerful way to edit images than using Preview, and don't need the power and functionality of other more expensive apps. But please fix working with text.

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMI could not open the app, it took forever to load when I tried to go to the free trial. I could not figure out how to edit the pictures without the app closing out, and it was basically useless to me. I could not get it open in the first place, so I could not use the app at all.

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMAcorn is a program I want to be thankful for--Acorn does have its good points--but doing anything with text is simply maddening, so much so that, as I write this, I am loathing Acorn. Update: Someone, please save me from this application.

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMI am on Sierra 10.12.6 and after you install Acorn there is an option to start the free trial … it doesn’t do anything. It just spins there and there is nothing you can do. Restarted Acorn and tried the other “unlock Acorn” button and nothing happened. Can’t even try the trial so I have no idea how to grade this app.

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMI’m really pleased with the new features in Acorn 6. Cloning across layers and images is great, and the scaling/transforming improvements make it easier to resize layers precisely. The path text tool goes hand in hand with the circle text tool to create great looking logos.

Reviewed on 3/10/20 1:47 PMHIGHLY RECOMMEND. This is genuinely an amazing app, especially when considering the price. I do graphic designs for newsletters, cover art for independent book publishers, as well as logos for local/regional businesses. It took one small logo job to recuperate the cost of the app. I have been using this since version 2.0 and I haven’t hesitated to purchase the major updates, and I appreciate the developer's frequent updates and bug fixes. This app is simple and powerful, and I learn a little more every time I use it. Online info for features is easy to find.
