Entering numbers is difficult because the number pad and the estimated return panel block the view of the line being entered.

The difference between what this junk app says I will get on my return and what turbo tax says is off by SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS. How incredibly ridiculous. Nice forecast tax caster

Im a taxpro and wanted a quick app to estimate refunds. My estimate refund was off by $2300!!! HoH, 3 dependents under 16, 1099MISC $16000. My Drake software says $6025 while TaxCaster $8316? Someone is wrong and it’s not Drake!!

I have used this app for a few years and it’s normally only a few 100 off but this year it’s over 3000 off and I don’t understand why! This is not accurate at all this year for 2018 taxes!

Have used for many years and it’s been pretty right on this year it’s $3,000 off. Very upsetting.

My friend told me about this app. It call me allll excited about my tax return. I do my tax return and it’s over 2,000 less than this app predicted.

TaxCaster has shown my estimated refund to be over $12,000 since earlier this year. I did it again today to double check. However when I used turbo tax to actually file, using the exact same numbers, my refund is only $4,500. That’s a ridiculous difference and I am so disappointed because I thought I was getting $12,000 this year. Not happy with this app.

I used this tax estimator and filling married filling jointly with 7 dependents and my refund is $15,295. However when I input the same info when I try to file that I enter in this app, the amount drops to $6,677. Very disappointing this app is misleading. Nobody can seem to give me a straight answer as to why either.

I loved this app in years past, but the recent update doesn't display properly on my SE, to a point that renders it nonfunctional. Very disappointing.

I heard of this program online and can say it works great!

The app won’t let you input an amount that is more than 9999$. Need to fix this bug.

Works like a charm now. Was able to show people how much they might be getting back from Taxes.

I’ve used this app for the last 2 years and loved it! I just updated it tonight and every time I get to the part to enter in my income it crashes!!!! I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled twice. Please fix ASAP!!!

This is an excellent app. I wanted to find out my taxes would be for 2018 vs. 2017. Especially with the new tax reform. It is hard to believe, but it took me less than a few minutes to make the calculations . I highly recommend this app from intuit!

9.1 fixed crashing issue when adding income. Additional standard deductions for two married persons over 65 filling jointly is not adding up to 15,200 Standard Deduction. . Seems to only add one.

Traditional IRA phaseout for married filing jointly with employer coverage needs to be updated from $98-118K (2016) to $99-119K (2017). Would also be helpful if max deduction was displayed when entering IRA contribution.

This is now unusable to me it can’t finish it without app crashing and losing all info

It works great if you are not paid by 1099. As soon as you enter the amount of your 1099 the app goes black and kicks you off. Needs to be fixed to work with other incomes.

I was hoping TurboTax could help me predict my tax obligation for 2018 based upon my (already filed with TurboTax) 2017 return. Not only does this app require me to re-enter all my info, it is oriented towards very simple returns.

Won’t let me type all numbers. Any field is limited to only 1 character, so just “2” for “200”. First, deleted and reinstalled, but the problem persists. Hope it’s an isolated incident.

Has the standard deduction for over 65 been eliminated for 2017? Does it calculate the taxable amount of social security based on box 5 of SSA-1099?

I entered info into the app but the summary doesn’t include my social security income or the estimated taxes I’ve paid. Do you have any quality control?

Needs more options for deductions.

This app is GREAT for anticipating your federal income tax owed/estimated return. I love that they put the “looking at 2018” estimate on hear as well. You can see home the new tax bill will affect your bottom line next year. Please keep this app updated and free.

Nice little program, but I don’t understand why it’s not integrated with TurboTax. Would get 5 stars if it pulled my TurboTax prior year info as a starting point.

Tax caster allows you to get a jump start on your tax return. Very helpful. Been using for two years now and I recommend to friends and family to use.

Pretty disappointed this year, I used this to get an estimate on my refund.. and then used turbo tax to file my taxes and I’m getting over 2k less than what this app estimated.. I don’t expect it to be 100% accurate but over a 2 grand difference from their estimate to them doing my taxes is absurd

This app is right on the money would recommend it to anyone that would like to know what their taxes look like before filing

This app does calculate EIC with dependents that are 16 or younger. But when you change the dependent(s) to between 17-24, there is calculation of EIC. This issue with the app has been around for 3 years now. I wish turbotax will fix this problem.

There is a glitch in the new TaxCaster. I can’t get pat the income input and it cuts out and won’t let you continue. Started over several times and same thing happens. Very disappointing.

The last two updates have caused significant swings in the refund/amount owed for 2017. Based on my excel sheet estimate, I think they are accurate now. I like the app, but would appreciate clearer explanations of what changed.

Excellent tool to forecast and make sure your deductions are on target. Allows you to "what if" your tax situation.easy to use.

I’ve used this app for years and I find it very useful in planning my taxes. The numbers are always very good estimates. In one occasion, regarding 2018 changes, they immediately responded to my email and provided an excellent explanation. I am a satisfied customer.

When are you going to update so 2017 taxes can be estimated? My app says it’s calculating on 2016 (as of October 10, 2016).

Very easy simple questions and ease of use with little time spent!

This update is a mess. Things not logically located, entries that are negative numbers don’t always stay negative. Some items are ignored when doing the calculations. Do not trust this app for anything but a “in the ballpark” guess.

I believe this does not accurately reflect real life scenarios. Trying to find ways to minimize my taxes, needing to see how moving money in particular ways and using certain accounts is essential. List out specific types of accounts, and expenditures. Create an scenario based option for comparisons. Ability to connect to mint and to prompt questioning for transactions. Was this a medical expense? I see you recent purchased gas, did you travel today for work? You sold some investments, are you purchasing another with the funds? Etc.

I don’t see a place to enter an HSA contribution so it shows up as a deduction. My workaround is to just subtract it from my W-2 income. I could swear that last years app had this

Always works great and so close or exact. I was just looking and it still is going by 2014 tax year. When will it be updated to 2017 tax year, it's pretty far behind. Great app and always recommended it!!!

I've used this app every year for my taxes. This year I have a lot less options to utilize when it comes to deductions and what not. I have never owed taxes in nearly 20 years and usually get a few grand back every year. This year it said I owe? How is that possible when very little has changed?

The student loan interest as a deduction, under tax breaks, is hard to find in the app. It’s found under “are you or your child IN first 4 years of college.” If you’re paying interest on student loans then you’re not in your first four years of school. Very confusing. Please move to its own heading under tax breaks. Thank you. Edit: Wow! Devs listened and moved the student loan interest to its own heading! Superb customer communication- well done.

Great app. Would be better if it included the HSA contribution credit and the deduction for casualty/theft/losses. Should be easy to add these options.

I already like intuit. I've used TaxCaster for years and it is very helpful to get a jump start on planning my taxes.

This is third year in a row using tax caster, very accurate, helps me and family plan for budgeting our tax returns

After entering Social security income app crashes

I think your QBI income limitation is wrong. Seems like it has a limitation for all deductions. Should it only be for capital gains?

This app gives you a great idea of what to expect before you do your taxes. It was accurate last year and super easy to use.

Gives you a good estimate of what you should expect to get back or owe back.

The App used to work great on IPad but now does not. When trying to input information in, the operable window disappears up the page. So disappointing, I really used to like this app.

Crashes and not saving data

I put in all my estimated taxes and I’m pretty sure the program is just plain wrong. I seems to handle basic income, has old rates for the 2018 estimation and does not recognize lower rates for capital gains
