The old version of the app seem to work fine but since it’s been updated over the past few months it never works on Wi-Fi. The app never connects is it expands and then just times out.

This use to a great app. Since they did the update, I can’t open it. It says service not available. So I had to pay by phone. Since I can’t even check my balance, I hesitate to use my card. Tip: if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.

This app is amateur compared to other banking apps. No push notifications for charge activity is unacceptable in 2018. It is the single most important feature for staying on top of my charges and monitoring for fraud. I also have accounts with Chase and Bank of America and their apps are ages ahead of this one. It appears Barclays has no intention of investing in basic features of a banking app.

This app has been great since I downloaded it. However, the only issue I have with it is that it does have an option to pay the current balance on my credit card when it's time to pay it. I have to put it in manually. It's a small thing, but I would appreciate it if it was added.

Very confusing in the way the app works. I have many credit cards where I use them and pay them off every month. This app makes doing that extremely difficult! The card balance does not stay current in the app. And the statement isn’t electronic, it’s PDF, so you can’t take a current look at the account. Very unhappy.

Would be a good app if it actually worked. When I first downloaded it, it worked fine. Now whenever I try to load the app all I get is the login screen with the loading circle in the middle. Can’t even put in my login information. It never loads. It just keeps spinning. Will be deleting this app until they do something to fix this issue as it makes the app completely useless.

Ironically the help screen says click to enable push notifications for any of the notifications. But the only options are email and sms. Common BC, may as well add carrier pigeon and telegram. Push has been around for years and is the gold standard for credit card activity awareness. Go get an account at Chase and see how it should be done. If I wasn’t a Lufthansa flier I’d be out of here so fast your head will spin. In fact the insane 26% may drive me to that anyhow on top of the whacko annual fee. So fix at least two of this, m’kay? Also, I’ve yet to see the supposed free annual ticket once and have been a cardholder for 10 years. After typing all this. I think it’s time to dine find a new travel card in fact.

I agree w another review I read. Why isn't the current balance available as a choice in making a payment? I always have to toggle back & forth to find out what I owe! I'm also getting sick of being asked for my user ID & password to confirm it's me for my safety! What exactly is my fingerprint for then?? I also don't like the fact that if I want to contact them, email is not an option, so this is how I'm expressing my discontent.

I hate when charges disappear then reappear!!! It pisses me off when I pay my bill in full then see another charge add!!! If a charge is pending it should not take a day or two to show up in the current balance/ charges!!!! Please fix! It’s really pushing me to close this card and go elsewhere!

Every time i access it makes me do a full login to reactivate touch id. I only access about once a month but why have touch id access if you have to enter login and password when u access. My other banking apps dont put me through that.

Barely works. Can’t redeem rewards because no submit button. It’s hidden by the keyboard. Clearly no one tested. Also forgets my saved password ALL THE TIME. it’s saved genius. Computers for forget. I’ve used this app for over 3 years with no issues. Suddenly, the past week or so, it never works. Have reinstalled with no success. The wheel of death runs for a full minute, then I get a message that the service is currently unavailable. Fix this app, or I am done with Barclays.

The app is not bad, but I don’t know why it’s not possible to email the pdf-generated statement to myself, instead of requiring the user to sign in from their laptop to save the statement, when most other credit card apps allow users to do this. Surely it’s not that difficult.

I’ve had this app since November and only once has it actually gotten me logged on to pay my bill and that instance it still took several tries to connect. Roughly 1 minute to load the first log in screen to type. Didn’t copy your password from Dashlane before opening Barclays? Restart. Another minute. Paste password in and it “loads” for another 1.5 minutes before it times out and says “service temporarily down”. That excuse doesn’t apply when it happens 8/9 months I’ve used this app. Suppose I should be grateful they at least maintain a working website from PC....

I have frequently changed my password 4 times in the last 2 months. This is such a hassle considering I have to make up a new password each time. I have used Face ID, but it is getting me no where. I would have to “confirm my identity” every time I want to log into my account. It would be better if the app allows the user to input their password 3 times before asking them to change it again. Please fix this issue.

Do not get a Barclays card, the Uber cash back may sound good, but it’s earful. This app takes forever to load every screen and half the information and services are useless. They’ve got to be the only company that doesn’t let you repeat pay your current balance, instead the only options are a recurring payment of some random amount or your last statements balance. Why would I want to repeatedly pay the same as my last statements balance? Notifications and transactions take a ridiculously long time to go through

When I registered it asked if I wanted to login with fingerprint. Of course I do so I did that. Now every time it asks for fingerprint AND to login with username and password. Why? Even the Apple App Store doesn't require fingerprint and password every time I use it. Logging into my account almost never works. It just tries to load and fails or says the server is not accessible. However, I can immediately go to the Website and log in through there. Not a good experience so far. I am deleting the app and trying again. Maybe the issues is with facial recognition—the app doesn’t know how to handle things if recognition fails? I’ll try it without turning that feature on and post result in another review.

I have used the Capital One app for several years and love it. Got the new American Airlines Aviator card and have been trying for over a week to get this BarclayCard app to load. Set everything up as I should have and can never ever get it to open. I have tried reloading it and everything else I can think of. Asked my tech savvy friends and they are as perplexed as I . Will likely pay off the bill by sending in a check (who does that anymore?!?!) and then not use the card again. I just don’t have time for this nonsense!

It’s strange that on the mobile app you can’t look at all current transactions as an option - on the website you can but on the app you can only view statements of transaction detail. Another highly frustrating item is the inability to filter by card member. If you’re going to offer the option to add another card to the account, you should be able to filter transactions by card member. Take a page from Amex’s book and update your app to stay competitive.

I use auto pay to pay the statement balance off each month because the app is really confusing and I don’t want to be charged interest. I like to pay everything off right away as many reviewers have stated. The total shown in the account summary doesn’t really match the current transactions and I have no clue if I’m overpaying. The Bank of America credit card app was so much easier to use and has a better interface. Please upgrade this app so we can see running totals!

Similar to other reviews I’ve read, I feel this app should offer a pre-filled “pay current balance” option when going to pay your card (not just the statement balance or minimum due). I almost always have to switch between the summary and payment screens to type in the current balance which is rather annoying.

I’ve never had any problems with the app in all the other areas. It’s works for what I need it for and it’s easy to use and navigate. My only complaint is the glitchy Touch ID that just randomly switches off and stops working. I’ve never had that problem with other apps. If that stopped happening I’d give it 5 stars.

As mentioned by someone else, the app is great but payment is always a nightmare. I have to remember what the balance is so that when I navigate to the next screen I’ll remember. Also, it takes a while to update/sync up available credit with balance. Problem with that is if my due date is a couple days from now, I can’t pay off the balance - since a number of transactions stay pending for 2 days or longer. Then I have to keep checking for when the balance is updated to reflect the correct amount.

The app should show your reoccurring balance as it goes. It’s impossible to know how you got to a certain balance. Shows your charges and a final balance. Should show how you got there !!

This app has a poor security implementation by not allowing you to follow the security best practice of using a third party password manager like Lastpass or 1password. The app forbids you from pasting in your password, meaning you would have to write down your strong password and then manually type it in. Typing in a password is far less secure (and not realistic for strong passwords) versus pasting from a secure password manager. This app is unusable for people who care about password security and strong passwords.

I’ve had to reactivate my touch id repeatedly for the Barclay iphone app but have never had to do so for 2 other bank apps I use. It seems the app randomly turns off my Touch ID leaving me unable to access my account without retrieving my password from the secure list that I keep at home. That’s pretty tough to do when I’m traveling. I thought the point of Touch ID was to have a pretty secure way of accessing my info without having to repeatedly enter my password.

I use my mobile device to pay all my bills. This is by far the worst. You can’t just pay your current balance. It’ll let you pay your last statement balance and even a minimum that is higher than the current balance. You have to toggle back and forth to know the amount you owe. When you do submit the payment, you are returned to the same screen so there’s no indication you’ve done anything. I submit the payment and then go to my email to see if I did it. Literally every other credit card app is better than this one. I’m removing this as my default payment for my Apple store. It’s too much hassle. Back to PayPal.

They either have a slow processing system or use deceptive practices to try to leave you with a balance all the time. FYI temporary transactions are not in your current balance and can take up to a week to be placed in it. Hence why I can never pay it off.

I enable Touch ID for a reason. This is the only app which constantly requires me to re enter my password. None of my other credit cards or my banks do this. The cynic in me thinks this is so it’s harder to pay a bill so they can do a gotcha on the people who use this card to finance purchases thru Apple.

How on earth do you make an app in this era refuse to enable copy/paste? The fact that password managers are a must in today’s world mean that the inability to paste in a password is absurd. Add to that the fact TouchID becomes unusable when you don’t like in for more than a day due to “security concerns” makes this app dead on arrival. The app used to at LEAST allow you to paste in your password, but that has been broken sometime in the past few updates. I seriously cannot believe Barclays would have such a terrible app on the App Store. For these two reasons this is THE WORST banking app I’ve used of all the major and a few regional banking institutions. Come on Barclays. Get your act together.

It's the app you can't log in to. Touch ID doesn't work; it insists on you entering your username and password every time. And you can't copy and paste your password from a password manager, which defeats using a secure password. Just a terrible user experience.

This app needs a lot of improvement. The UI could have been designed by a 5 year old. It's stuck in the minor leagues... while the other banks are playing in the major leagues. I am thankful that it is fully accessible to the blind. Easy to navigate, but not feature enriched. Many people are complaining about the login, and I get the frustration. Although, I haven't had any issues with TouchID with my iPhone 8. It has worked every time I've logged in. I've not been asked to constantly reaffirm credentials. Barclays... Please improve on this app. I'm pleased with my customer service. User experience with website and app, not so much. The biggest security issues... Where are my notifications? It doesn’t protect me after the fact. Notifications should occur at point of activity, not when sale posts.

Basically have the same complaint as everyone else. I enabled Touch ID for a reason. I appreciate you trying to do me a favor by making me sign in with my password almost every time I use the app but what favor are you actually trying to do? Enable Touch ID....period. Stop logging me out. Also, what possible reason could you have for not allowing the paste function into the password form? My password is some random long string of garbage because I use an encrypted password app and just cut and paste my passwords in. Another favor I guess? To sign into your app, I literally need to find a pen and paper, write down my password, open your app and then plug it in and hope I don’t have a typo. Seriously, just, so, awful. You guys are light years behind your competitors.

I’ve had this app since around September 2010, right after I got a Barclaycard Visa credit card. I’ve been noticing a lot of negative reviews, but personally, I’ve been really happy with this app. I’ve used to make almost all of my payments. I’ve had maybe 1 or 2 issues w/ the app since I began using it, and those issues were resolved quickly. The app is easy to navigate, it’s easy to view my available & owed credit. Like I said, this is just my personal experience, but I’ve been using it for more than 8 years, and am quite happy w/ it!

I have not been able to login one single time without saying I’ve been locked out of my account due to security reasons. If I want to simply see my balance or make a payment I have to go through the tedious prices of finding my card and entering in information and answering all the security questions. I change my password EVERY time per the app‘s suggestion, but it doesn’t make a difference. This is the most frustrating credit card/banking/online bill pay app I’ve ever used in my life (my Virginia Credit Union, Capital One, and Discover apps are all very user friendly). I would not recommend this app to anyone.

They’ve blocked the ability to paste your password into the login form. Choices remaining are to change to short, insecure password or just delete the app.

Many people like me use a password manager to generate and manage random login passwords. The login page of this app does not allow pasting my password. I’ve never seen any other app does it.

Developers, take heed: make sure that you actually use the app before releasing. Trying to make it more secure? Okay, so first you encourage users to create secure (long, complex) passwords... fine. Then you make it so that users periodically have to verify their user name/password when using touch/Face ID... umm, okay. Now you also prevent pasting passwords into the password field... this is a no-go. App is now deleted... will only use the website.

The app works great for what I need it to do, but my only little problem is the weird font on the widget. It’s off and almost looks like it’s on top of itself. It’s just odd and clearly something isn’t right. If that can be fixed, I’d say, for myself, it’s a 10/10 app.

The log in screen is one of the worst I have seen from a financial application. I cannot click and edit anything I type in and if I go between apps while trying to login, the whole screen resets. Finally, I cannot paste anything either, the app refuses to allow any normal text box editing commands. My bank accounts are stored in last pass, I don’t have the ability to memorize a 15 character password scramble, but this app does not let me try to paste, or go between apps to slowly type in my passwords. I can’t log in, which is very odd because chase, bofa and Amex all slow these pretty standard ux practices.

Has to be the worst app I ever have. I have touch ID but every other time that I log in is asking me for my password and EVERY time that I put my password I have to changed because it doesn't recognized. I have stopped using the credit card for that reason and I'm seriously thinking on canceling the card

The app allows me to sign in with my username and password but when I go to turn on Face ID and it asks for my username and password and I put it in it tells me it is wrong.

Developers do you use this app? You must know how frustrating it is to use, when you have to re-enable facial auth every time you update the application. Today I can’t even paste the 12 character password into the application, paste appears to be disabled, if I move back and forth from my password app the password field gets reset. Come on!!

Once you actually get into the app it isn’t bad but logging in is a problem. I have it set up to log in by my fingerprint, but it still literally only accepts that for a short time before making you manually log in and reset your password. I have had to change and reset my password so many times for this account that I rely on the fingerprint log in but that feature rarely works.

Asks to login again and again despite being able to access and set up correctly face ID. They should improve the retain of the user session. Also, the experience when loging in is a bit poor, it's hard to type and paste your password. Plus, despite putting the right password used in the website the mobile app rejects it incorrectly saying it's wrong.

So not sure why there is a Touch ID option if the app requires you to enter your password to log in anyway. All my other financial apps have touch of and they work great.

Deleting this app as it is now useless to me. As countless others have stated, this app randomly asks for you to input your password manually even if you have Touch ID activated. This wouldn’t be a big deal, however, since I use a password manager that creates very complex passwords, it’s impossible for me to remember said password. Additionally, the Barclays app doesn’t allow copy and paste of passwords, therefore I have to write out my complex password and type it in. What a genius and secure method to require of your users (rolls eyes <———————-extremely facetious statement. Get with it people!

App needs to adopt Siri integration though app. It’s a cool feature to check balance just by asking Siri “ what’s my Barclays card balance “ or “ when is the payment due”?

This app has a bug I can’t login but I can on a web browser. Also I cannot paste (after copying text) into the password text field on the login page. That is super annoying as I use a password manager and have a long password. Can you please incorporate into the next version? No other app I’ve encountered has this limitation

Always logging me off. What is the point of fingerprint usage in ios when a lot of time i cant use it or it signs me off to the point i have to fully sign in again. My password has complexity so this is a big problem. Also, an issue with barclays in general. Information on balance is not up to date. Often its 3-4 days behind....!

My Bank of America cc shows the amount of the purchase and the running balance below the purchase. I have no idea with this card. I may cancel it simply for that reason.

Very frustrating app. More than half the time I go to login it won’t give the option to use Face ID. Now I tried to copy and paste my difficult password and it won’t allow me to paste my password onto the screen. It makes me reconsider whether I want this card anymore.

I have this annoying issue with this app from beginning of the time. I set Touch ID in the app and every couple of months app decides to disable Touch ID and asks for my password. If I wanted to enter password I wouldn’t have set Touch ID in the first place. Almost every time I don’t remember my password and I have to take annoying change password path. I’m tired of this app and will close my account

The app doesn’t save fingerprint preferences so every week or so I have to log back in. My password is complicated which is not a problem except the app won’t let you copy/paste into that field, nor will it fill when connecting to keychain. Waste of time.

I’m lucky if Face ID works even half of the time - no clue why it fails and requires password so regularly. Basic functions like transfers from external accounts missing (and on mobile web as well). Must use a desktop to do these basic functions. Sad.

The app is okay. It would be even better if I had users had the ability to view/print a pdf statement in-app. This feature is available in other apps that I use, so it shouldn’t be too hard for Barclays to include.

FaceID doesn't work. After I logged in, the app asked me do I want to use FaceID. I accepted. Then it asked me to enter my password to confirm. Ok.... I just entered my password few seconds ago. Fine, I entered my password, then it gave me error that my username or password is incorrect.Seriously? I've been trying to enable this feature for few months hoping this issue get fix. This issue is out there few for months, and it doesn't get address. I contacted customer service through chat, they told me to call customer service number. 😳😶

This app doesn’t allow you to paste answers to security questions. The answers to my security questions look like this: wwJJgzRauF6RyxEwfHiQJqkcp I’m not going to type that in. So I just can’t login to my account. Real life answers to security questions are a TERRIBLE idea. And no other authentication factors are available on my account - I’ve asked.

I just want to echo what others are saying about forced Touch ID/Face ID logout. Periodically, for some arbitrary-unknown-to-me reason the app say I can't log in with Face ID for "security reasons." I'm using my face to login. No one else has my face but someone can steal a password. Doesn't make a lot of sense. So when I'm forced to enter my password, I can't copy and paste it from my password manager because this app won't allow pasting in a password. So I have to go to my computer, open the password manager, open this app again on my phone, and manually type in the 20-something random characters that make up my password. It's so irritating.

There’s definitely a theme developing within these reviews… my only gripe is the fact that every now and then, I can’t use Face ID to unlock my account and I have to remember my password. I have all my passwords written down on my notepad, but what if I don’t have it with me (which happens often)? If Bank of America, AMEX, and other banks don’t require passwords intermittently to access my account, then why Barclays? I find it hard to believe that it’s because of “security reasons” — especially when Face ID is more secure than a password anyways. To be fair, the app layout is very easy to work with (for the most part) and it is designed more beautifully than other mobile banking apps, but the negatives outweigh the positives.

I was just logged in via Safari, couldn’t find a way to quit monthly statements from being received via email, so I decided to download the app. Tried logging in and I got locked out of my account and needed to verify my account. What kind of pathetic is that when I was able to log in seconds ago on Safari? Huge glitch and disconnect in the system/app. Inconvenient to customers; I’m sick of calling in EVERY time to customer service to get my password reset because of this frustrating ongoing unresolved issue.

App keeps kicking me out then manually added password now no option for touch id at all. You cant even edit your information. There is no navigation and the help section is weak at best.
