It's too big on my iPad but i love the software

Just like the HP17b or 19b but much more functionality.

I love this calculator but there are so many new functions. Where can I download the user manual??

This app has a number of great standard functions (Time Value of Money, etc) but the Solver emulation is what sold me, and what I used extensively back when I had the HP hardware. Simply create your own equation with your variables, enter your variables and values and it will solve for the one value that is missing! And you can save as many of your own formulas as you like. I used it for figuring weights or lengths on roll goods but you can adapt it your own needs/profession. One of the most user-friendly calc apps imo.

The update was okay but now the calculator does NOT fit completely the iPad3 screen. It now looks like an iPhone ONLY app. not an iPad one. Please, fix it and I'll change my rate.

It's nice to be able to leave my 17bii+ in a drawer most of the time. It's not perfect, but it's really good at what it is, and does what it claims.

The app has not been updated in a few years so I was hesitant to drop $5 on it, but I did and I am glad I did. This app runs perfectly on an iPhone 7+. I will add that it is not adapted to the 4.7" and 5.5" screen sizes. That isn't a huge deal but for those who care, I give you that information. The app starts up quickly, so the review from 2014 about slow start times is not an issue on newer equipment.

The latest update corrected the missteps of the devious round, and this app is back to its former functionality, albeit, with some nice new additions.

I have been using this app for years and love it. I never use a standalone calculator anymore. It is great to have this on the phone and always handy. I think the 17B is much better than the 12C.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I never understood why anyone would use the 10b or 12c. When in college ages ago I could understand the price difference was huge. But now for $5.99 to have a 17b on my phone. Incredible !! It works beautifully!!!!

On my way to my Finance midterm I forgot my calculator on the subway. Downloaded this app and I am so thankful!! I have a 17+ and I needed something that feels like the actual thing....and it does!! Excellent purchase!!!!

Good product. Why did the “Solver” stop working after the recent update?

I still hate this upgrade, the reason I bought the app in the first place was because it was very close to the actual 17b calculator which is one of HP's best in my opinion. Now its something completely different, if i wanted a different calculator app i could buy one of the hundreds of other apps out there. Here is my solution, put the original app back up and stop messing with it. If you want to have another app then call it something else. Losing my equations also is a pain in the aps.

The user interface was better before the latest upgrade.

Wow, a real downgrade from the look and feel - and I lost my equations - loved the old version in which I could hold this phone sideways - I'm like several other reviewers, bring it back!

UPDATE - FIXED MY ONLY PROBLEM AND THEY ARE GREAT COMPANY FOR SUPPORT. GET IT GET IT GET IT The 17Bii was my workhorse in business school and beyond - always felt it was HP's best calculator - and it is faithfully and beautifully re-imaged here. Buy it!

I was amazed to find this calculator, the HP 17BII Financial Calculator, in the App Store. Years ago, the 17BII (the real calculator, not the virtual one) was my favorite since College. This App captures everything I liked of the original and then some. If you used the 17BII Calculator then you'll love this App. Thank you for all your hard work!!!!

The classic view was so much better. What does it take to have R-L-M developers listen to our needs and bring back the old but better interface?

I have been using HP financial calculators for more than 30 years. Given the numerous problems that the current HP 17BII+ financial calculator has exhibited such as stuck keys etc., I decided to go on the iPhone apps store to see if there was anything close to an HP financial calculator available for iPhone or iPad. I was astonished to find that a company called R.L.M. Software offers seven exact duplicates of various HP calculators for use on the iPhone and the iPad. There is an exact simulated model of the HP 17BII+financial calculator available for $4.99. It is exactly the same as the HP relative to all of its financial algorithms. In addition there are additional functions not available on the real HP. The RPN mode can be reset to algebraic, the look on the screen is exactly the same as the HP. If it's on an iPad you get the full screen mode. This is truly unbelievable.

I have been waiting for someone to come out with the 17B ever since I got my iPhone. Great version. I also have this developer's 12C. Fantastic implementation of two amazing calculators Worth every penny

Does everything my trusty 17bii does, but has some great improvements. It's awesome to be able to see three lines in the stack and the settings are changed more easily. Fantastic app!

Love this app ..... the best calculator

After update, it keep crashing and resetting the calculator when press Solver. Please fix the bug.

I consider HP 17BII+ as the best financial calculator. Now it comes as an app with more features (unit and currency conversion) and highly customizable interface and options.

This is one of the best and most used apps on my iPhone. I used this app to introduce the magic of compound interest to my son.

By removing the "Classic" view (which is why I bought the app), the company has removed the appeal in exchange for no discernible improvement in functionality. Perhaps HP sent them a letter to stop using its design. If so, they should say so and offer refunds to anyone that wants one. What next? They start removing functions? I was very upset to find the look and feel I have been used to is gone.

Unfortunately this newest version changes the layout of what was a wonderful app in addition to losing all of your stored equations I am looking into how I can revert to an older version as I do not like the new version at all! Too bad they ruined a perfect great program :(

I love this app - just as I loved the real thing for so many years. Bow that haptic feedback has been added I am now, as promised, giving the app a five star rating.

The last update bring a new view of the menus. Sadly the direct input in SUM (statistics menu) has been removed which forces you to use the List Editor View which is a pain. Please bring back the direct entry list. Also solver not working. Latest update needs attention!!!

The update is a disaster. Interface went from excellent to awful. All equations are wiped out when you update, but you aren't told about this until after the update! Another example of untalented programmers ruining a perfectly functioning app. Jeez! The most recent update does nothing to fix the UI. You blew it again. I will dump this app as soon as someone with programming skills builds an app with a good UI, and doesn't constantly change it for the worse.

The HP17B II was my trusty sidekick all through graduate school. Sadly mine died years ago. This is not only a spot on IOS version, but it adds bells and whistles in the form of additional functions (conversions, tips, scientific tools, and otherwise). Loads fast on my iPhone 6. What a nice surprise to find this app.

I love this app - just as I loved the real thing for so many years. There is one thing that would cause me to add a fifth star to my rating - haptic feedback. It’s difficult - if not impossible - to really know if a button really got pressed as it is on a real calculator. When I’m entering numbers I’m concentrating on the keyboard and not in the display so I often don’t notice that I didn’t click in exactly the right place. I have my phone linked to my hearing aids by Bluetooth for phone calls so even though I have the click volume turned to the maximum the sound isn’t audible.

Will not accept input data for Date1 or Date 2, entering data results in an error message even when using the number format from the help menu example. I’ve used this function in the past, but since it was updated it no longer works. This is a great calculator please fix this function. I will change my review to 5 stars when fixed.

This calculator app was truly the best HP calculator, not now! With the new update it is not user friendly and if your expecting similar menu to HP calculator you will become very frustrated since it is not like the HP calculator anymore.

I just found this marvelous emulation if my beloved HP17BII+ and it's better -- much better-- than the real one! For those who are unfamiliar, the greatest feature of The HP17 Is the ability to write equations and have the calculator solve for any single missing variable. You can store tons of equations and they are much easier to type on the iPhone keyboard. I use it for many specialty functions in my manufacturing business including pricing of complicated custom made items. The HP17 is far superior to the HP12C (though it doesn't have the nifty key layout) and this version is far superior to the real thing. I use it several times an hour all day every day. Thank You for this!

I liked the way it worked before yesterday's upgrade. I guess I will get new batteries for my real HP17BII and go back to it.

Tired of having to repress finance then time value of money every time i open the app. Cant the developers keep the last function used versus having to emter it all over again. Was a decent app. New version ruins it

So glad I found this app. The emulation works perfectly so I always know what to expect! The latest version has some menu changes that I’m not so sure about, but probably adds usability for those not familiar with the HP. Overall my money was well spent!

I’ve used a 17BII for several years. This is better by far! More configurations and easier to use.

Update still has the flash of the new skin, and sadly the backup to iCloud does not work. It generates an error message "invalid arguments. Server message= cannot create a new type in production schema" ! Works great on an iPhone 6. I do regret though that having chosen the “old” calculator skin, it insists on showing briefly the new skin before switching to the “old” skin… That brief flash of a different color is disconcerting …. Please change in a quick update soon ! November 2017 update IPhone X adaptation is not perfect as the main display screen is a touch too high and extends in the upper area time, battery... etc indicators. No doubt an update will fix this very soon.

Update 11/16/17 Looks like the author listened to the challenges listed in the reviews and fixed the problems. My compliments to all of them. I really like the updated format it is more intuitive and easier to use - even for an old timer who was use to and really liked the real BA17 format. I had to change my rating to 5 stars and I am ever so glad I had the reason to do it. Update 10/11/17: No help or suggestions submitted but I finally got the app working after deleting app, rebooting IPad and reloading app 7 times?? But, now I find I can not use the solver editor on my IPad. There is a bar that appears across the bottom of the screen that does not allow you to access the save and exit options. Not only have I lost all my formulas with this upgrade, I can not reenter them. You would think that this update would have been tested before the new release. They have no idea the problem this causes when you depend on something to work. Anyone please help!! Ugh! New update crashes when trying to bring up solver function! All my formulas from the previous version cannot be used. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

The last update for IOS11 do not let user work with negative Interest periods while working in interest equivalents. Could you Please fix that issue. And also The new Skin do not resemble the real HP 17. That is so sad. That was one of the most appealing of this App. It was your best marketing tool. Big problem. Solver is not working???

I’m a long time user of the HP17 Calc going back to its original release. Sold my 12c to buy it. I was a android fanboy until I found this app on the Apple store. I switched immediately. Why? Because of “Solver.” I don’t have to remember formulas with solver. I just load whatever equation I want to solve and fill in the variables. Highly recommend.

The new interface is cluttered and a drag on productivity. Please bring back SUM.

I’ve used the hp17 for decades and this emulation is that and much, much more. It’s the only calculator I use as a doctor, entrepreneur, architect, and pseudo engineer.
