This Spectrum TV app does not work on my iPhone or iPad since the last update.

Don’t waste your time or you will waste a lot of time sitting at your phone trying to cancel it.

Can't even give one star as it never works. For as much as we pay this should top notch but it's just the opposite.

If the app is left open in the background, after some time live tv will heard playing over the speakers even if the app is currently open and the device is asleep.

Most of the time the channels are unavailable. Error Ivs-1001? It’s not my connection, my other apps work just fine.

But, it often does not work. The latest update is worse than the original. It will not connect even on my 100Mbps Spectrum WiFi. I think Spectrum has bitten off more than it can chew. They now advertise a my spectrum app for your account....IT DOES NOT EXIST! Who is running this company?

It's always coming up with error codes. Follow all the tech support suggestions (log out, delete app, rinse&repeat) and works once or twice then nothing. I just deleted the app to try again before I wrote this.

Would be nice if the app was would consistently not return the DGE-1001 error message

I see almost everyone is having trouble with this horrible app that hardly ever works. Keep getting message iuc 9000 and when it does work it’s constantly freezing.Spectrum must be using grade school developers.I got spectrum to take with me on my iPhone and now I’m dumping the app and them.

Every time it’s time to watch a show it states “SOMETHING ISN’T WORKING QUITE RIGHT, TRY AGAIN LATER” IUC 9000. Then hours later.......same crap. Also get this “don’t support VPN networks go to settings and change this” I FONT HAVE VPN ON NOR DO I EVER USE IT!!! PLEASE FIX THIS APP. IT USE TO BE SOOOO MYCH BETTER. DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS ARE DOING.

The app used to work. Now it doesn’t. Keep getting error messages. Spectrum is making me miss Bright House.

Slow boot up and I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall this app over and over to get it to work. Why? Spectrum, get your App together!

Spectrum is utter trash. It’s hard to believe it’s 2018, with a company that’s still in 2001. NOTHING works well. Their remotes, their cable boxes, their DVR boxes, the internet, the app. The customer service is awful. The technicians are destructive and sloppy. Truly the worst company I’ve had the displeasure of having in my life and then they charge $200/mo just for cable and internet (with 1 dvr box). I can’t wait to switch to AT&T. As far as the app and on demand go, their response is always “these are free perks, they’re not part of the plan you’re paying for”. What an excuse. I’m sorry, but yes, we are paying for them, w the outrageously inflated prices. Every other company has an app and On Demand service. Don’t use the excuse of “it’s free”, for it being garbage. Fix it. It is part of the package these days. On demand works MAYBE 20% of the time. App works maybe 5% if the time, but that is ONLY to watch TV. You CANNOT schedule recordings from it, you cannot view what’s on your DVR. It’s an error message every single time. It’s pure laziness from Spectrum. Brighthouse was awful, but after becoming Spectrum, it’s even more atrocious. Be ready to wait a full 2 minutes to access a show on your DVR (with the newest model). Want to flick through channels? Too bad. They could do it faster back in the day, on the tube tvs with the cable hooked up directly to the TV. Changing a channel takes 15 seconds per channel. Want to enter a channel directly? Good luck. You’ll have to try 10+ times for the remote to recognize what you’re putting in (ie- channel 178. You’ll end up getting channel 17. Try again and you’ll get channel 1 (which will default to 2), try again, you’ll get channel 7. Even pressing the on demand button, the channel change will stop short and input one or two numbers instead of the 3 or 4 that are required for on demand channels. It’s insane. This review is for spectrum as a whole, but it includes the pointless app. Why even have one? There’s literally no reason for this to “work” so poorly. Put some of the money that you rob from us, into good developers. The app was obviously designed by a toddler. Get it together Spectrum. You’re the makers of junk. You make a post on social media and not a single person has something good to say. The company does not value their customers or progress. Don’t pretend the app has features it doesn’t, like the ability to view what’s on your DVR or schedule recordings. Lies.

I am now getting two different errors while on my own wifi at home. The first was immediately after opening the app for the first time. Quitting the app and trying again to open it, it kept on getting this same error: “We’re sorry, something didn’t work quite right. Please try again later. IUC-9000.” Then I decided to wait for some time with that error on the screen to see what would happen. Then I got this second error: “We’re sorry, channel info is unavailable. Please try again later. ICH-1002.” I thought I had found a fix of selecting “Location services ON while using” but obviously that worked only for a little while. Is there any way you could fix this app for us?

Worst internet service I have ever had. The customer services absolutely unhelpful!!

When I updated the app the live tv still didn’t work after I tried multiple times!

My app (yes it’s the current version) won’t allow me to set recordings remotely in the app. Gives error ICM-1502. Contacted “chat” desk and response was “we don’t have a resolution for you—it may work, sometimes it may not”. ??????? Simply put-Fix the d*** thing!!!! I pay almost $200/mo for your service—just FIX IT!!!!

Still getting IUC-9000 error. App does not work as it should or as it used to.

Sept 4, 2018 - another update and another IUC-9000 error and a failure to load. This app can’t run for more than a day without issues. I have never seen a more error plagued app. This app never works. I can’t even get it to load let alone watch something. Deleted and reinstalled numerous times. Was to.d by tech support to unplug modem and cable box so the app could “resync”. Yeah, ok. This app was decent when it was Brighthouse but now they keep messing with it and hasn’t worked properly in a while. Come on, fix this app!

App works only half the time with a vague error number when it doesn't work. Sometimes while watching a channel it will suddenly tell me I don't have access to that channel. Switching to another channel then back usually fixes it.

This is the only thing that I have been able to watch lately everytime that I try to watch my tv shows:error Code nnn-0000. What is Up with all the propaganda about getting a great service and an app that most of the time does not work.

Does not interface well or not at with Apple devices. The security protocols and decryption is not up to date. Stay away from this app and provider.

Rich get richer and cable subscribers get poorer. Drop them and choose satellite while prices are good.

This app constantly has problems, constantly crashes and hardly ever connects in a proper fashion. I am so sick and tired of sitting down to watch something only to get the error message “something happened and your system didn’t connect”. Yeah, something happened in that Spectrum designed the crappiest app ever.

The app rarely works. It’s says an error and won’t play. It will say it’s not in WiFi when it’s in the house. I miss brighthouse spectrum is horrible.

I usually do not leave reviews, but I would like to compliment your services, every day I see where you are improving and I want to THANK YOU. The only drawback I would have is your Fees for using Spectrum. I would say for those of us retired the fees are through the roof and extremely expensive. I must say I love the Amenities you provide, but again way, way, to expensive.

There has been two updates in last week and now Spectrum App no longer works. Fix it or credit customers because Bright-house was better

WHEN it works it’s OK, that’s WHEN it works! Half the time i get error messages to where I can’t use it at all, and other times when I do get a picture the timing is off, meaning the people’s mouths are off from the actual sound of the words. This app is horrible just like the spectrum cable service!

This app gets worse with every update.. Prices are high and they removed WAPA CHANNEL from the app.

We depend on this app to work because it isn’t a free service, we actually pay for this and it consistently fails to load or run properly especially after this latest update. Seriously do something about this app, this is the kind of thing that will make me and others switch to Fios

I can’t honestly figure out why Spectrum offers this app. As a company that is supposed to be a leader in the world of communications, this app is a joke. For that reason, l can only assume that the CEO must be sleeping with the person entrusted to make it work or they would fire them.

The AP has worked for me every time. Load the newest version and stop complaining.

Waited 25 minutes on hold for a tech, who told me to reinstall the app. Didn’t work. Ridiculous. Feel sorry for the techs answering the calls, taking the brunt of people’s frustrations for a way below par company squeezing it’s customers and probably their employees too.

There is a lot of work that needs to be done on this app to make it stable.

This app is a piece of crap. It never works. Total garbage. Someone needs to start doing their job and give paying customers what they are paying for. Ridiculous.

It used to work before Spectrum took over. Now I just get errors and it never comes on.

Signed up for 7 day trial because why not. Lots of things sre Locke’s and unplayable so you can’t really binge watch a series from season 1 thru as it’s probably not available in app aside from when it airs next live. Do t show me movies I can’t stream either! App is buggy and crashes often and also hangs loading content. No tvOS app so have to airplay from iPad, doesn’t airplay well either. Will be canceling trial. The app is half baked and not at all ready to compete w Hulu, amazon prime and Netflix.

Clearly they don’t care to try to provide better service. At this point it’s about getting as much profit as possible without actually doing anything because there’s no competition. This app and their tv app cants even run on their own internet service. It’s appalling as an American citizen watching these corporations run amok providing a horrible service for rip off prices all because they don’t have to compete.

Wish I could give this app less than one star.

Hasn’t worked for months

Spectrum is by far the worst cable/internet service out here in California. The app is crap. It always crashes, gets pixelated, and the customer service is c*** too. Everything was fine when it was Time Warner. Whenever they did the merge or buyout the services went downhill fast! I pay for 100+ mb/s and I get 5 here, maybe a 20, then sometimes it shows 70 or even 100+ seldom, which is complete crap. STAY AWAY!!!!!

I was using the app and never had a problem till now. I went out of the app to check the weather for 2 seconds and it rewinds my show 20 minutes, which wouldn't be problem if I could fast forward but no I can't all I can do is watch my show again for 20 minutes and watch 15 minutes of ads.

Every time I try to schedule a DVR recording or play an on demand show I get an error message. Worthless app!

Every time I try and sign in, it tells me my password is in error, so I changed it;still sYs it is wrong, hanged my password several more times, accepted, until I try and sign in,then ERROR AGAIN ‼️‼️‼️ Ridiculous ‼️‼️‼️

I wish I could give this app zero stars since it is broken more than it works. Ever since Spectrum took over Brighthouse, this app just keeps getting worse. Sometimes when watching a channel it stops working, sometimes when changing channels it will the say channel unavailable. Why? Don’t bother calling Customer Service, they won’t know either.

I’m more than a little upset that I can’t record the football game I want to watch using this app. Just keep getting some random error and telling me to try again later. That does me no good. I’ve been trying for an hour now. This service isn’t worth the money.

Why can't I watched at home on ANY of my devices? Never know if it is going to work or not! Disappointed...

This app works about 25% of the time on my phone. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. More often then not, I get some sort of error code or “Unable to play” message. I have deleted the app and then downloaded it again multiple times - no improvement. Get it together people!!!!

... MSNBC? Are you kidding me??? As a traveler, Spectrum through their app, doesn’t let me get my news on MSNBC, yet they make Fox News (oxymoron) available. This, for me, makes Spectrum app both inadequate & perhaps worse, biased in their choice of news channel availability to their customers, paying top $ for their service.

Spectrum service is purely garbage. I am paying $200 a month and three nights out of every four I get an error message to say that the service is not available. It doesn’t matter whether I try to access it from my Roku stick, my smart TV or my phone. Why am I paying $200 a month for a service that just does not work during prime time? As far as I’m concerned, the sooner Spectrum goes out of business the better. It seems as though the further we advance the worse things get.

I absolutely ❤️ the new updated app! It works well with my iOS12 software. The ability to read what’s up next after the current show is such a nice feature! 😄 I used to have to go into the Guide tab and now I can just read on the same screen the next program. Awesomeness! 💯

The old bright house app worked great, you could record seasons or shows and it would work all the time. Just tried recording the Hell’s Kitchen series, the app said it worked and showed the red recoding icon. It didn’t work, went to watch the show and not on DVR and app shows it’s no long let set to be recorded. App works fine for live TV but don’t trust it for recording shows, they’ll tell you it works but it won’t.

Awful app from an awful monopoly.

When it works, it’s pretty well perfect. Currently watching the twelfth Doctor currently, for instance. When it doesn’t, it’s quite frustrating. I’ll often times have sign on errors, IUC-9000 seems to come up fairly often. With the latest versions and iOS 12 there seems to be a new troublesome bug. I watch the app in landscape orientation. The Spectrum app and show it displays have the proper orientation but the iOS widgets stay in portrait mode. For instance I’m watching BBC America, Doctor Who marathon and the show displays perfectly but the small time, date, network, location and battery info are aligned across the left side of the screen running from bottom to top. Not a horrible bug (unlike the sign on errors) but a disconcerting one just the same.

PLEASE update this app to take advantage of the iPhone XS Max’s 2688 x 1242 resolution! It’s such a simple fix that will make a world of difference!

Error message all the time. Very annoying when you want just set up a recording quickly or you want to watch something.

The latest update now presents more problems. The sound is behind the broadcast, you can see the movement of person’s lips do not match up with the sound, very, very distracting. All thru the day the audio, will repeat segments and then freeze. I actually had the app freeze on my screen and could not move it, had to do a shutdown of my iPad to close the app! I check other apps and NONE of the problems exist on them. Just when I think this app could not be worse, they do an update and prove me wrong. This so unacceptable for a company that sole product is media driven!!! I have been a customer with Time Warner since 1995 and Spectrum is making it hard to be a loyal customer.

This is literally the worst app ever! What’s the point in having the app if I have to delete it to reload it just to turn my TV. Pure Garbage

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. This is the first time I have ever reviewed an app and this one is so horrible I had to. When I finally get a connection without encountering some sort of “please try again later” error code, this app is spotty at best. It works a good 1% of the time. When this was a Brighthouse networks app, it ran like clockwork, and now that it is Spectrum, it is terrible. Work on it guys....

Since Spectrum took over Brighthouse the app never works. Does not matter which device I try to use it does not work, always some type of error message. This time it told me I did not subscribe to the proper package. That’s news to me since I have the deluxe package and pay the well over $200 a month. Just an awful app and their advertisements promoting it are such lies it’s incredible. I call to have it fixed and they say they are working on it. It’s never worked.

En casa, desde que desafortunadamente cambié de TWC a Spectrum, hace aproximadamente 7 meses, para lo único que sirven es para recordarme que estoy atrasado, según su sistema. Y peor aun; atenazan con cortar el servicio. Créanme esto; hace dos semanas espere a ver que sucedería si no pagaba y si, me cortaron el servicio!! Vale aclarar que fui cliente de TWC durante 10 años y nunca había vivido una experiencia como la que estoy viviendo con Spectrum, pésimo por donde se mire, mentiras, distorsiones, el sistema lo cambia quien le da la real gana! I get up and start the Spectrum app at 6am, about 20% of the time I run into a problem. Won’t start, get some 1000 or 1001 error. Using Roku 3 on all TV’s, sometimes the bedroom works and the living room won’t, it’s a random problem that comes and goes. I can go for weeks without a problem, then when I see the Charter/Spectrum trucks around and their people up on the poles, then off we go with the problems. I don’t even bother calling the service desk, rude customer service and next to useless techs on the phone. We get a new Spectrum modem, figure it will solve our problems, but it hasn’t made a difference. I’m using a Linksys WRT1900 router, no other problems except for this p*** poor app that doesn’t work.

Glitchy. Crashes. And while it Spectrum pretends you can set your dvr remotely, if you open the app outside your home it doesn’t allow you to access channels so you can record them (it prompts you to get on your home wifi - how s***** and useless is that??)

Spectrums ads show how in buying their service you can stream your tv service on IPads and phones with their app. What you will get on non tv devices are programs that are constantly interrupted because of signaling deficiencies. Spectrum claimed our latest connection problems would disappear with the new updated app. Not! Same horrible hair pulling out reception problems. Worse yet if like me -there is no other viable communication service. How come a class action suit hasn’t been filed v against Spectrum for charging for and claiming to provide services it can’t provide with its current infrastructure?

Why the f*** would I need to connect to in home WiFi to watch content I’m paying for?

Total waste of memory space. Can only watch your recorded shows and many stations when connected to your home wifi, which is pointless as you could just watch your tv. Would give it 0 stars if possible.

After iOs 12.0 upgrade the app stopped working. Keeps saying check internet connection. Does this on both my iPhone and iPad. Have removed and reinstalled a few times. Still not working. All my other apps work fine

I don’t know why this app seems to work when it wants to. This app sometimes shows certain channels or no channels at all.

Sometimes it works ok but usually I get some one of many different error messages and it just doesn’t work. Open it, close, uninstall, reboot, reinstall, nothing works. Amazing that Spectrum can’t fix it. No one there has any clue what the error codes mean. Not sure if it’s incompetence or they just don’t give a crap, or likely both. On the other hand since the app doesn’t work i am more likely to read more so there’s that.

Absolutely the WORST app I’ve ever downloaded. They claimed to fix the bugs within the app but haven’t. Video freezes. App shuts down. App kicks you off your channel at any given time. Pure Garbage

What’s the point if you need to be connected to the internet to watch all the channels ?? Can’t watch the dodgers or almost nfl games cause you need to be at home connected to WiFi.

The app itself isn’t terrible. It’s easy enough to navigate. What I really wish is that Spectrum would release a dedicated app for the Apple TV. Having to use the mirroring feature through AirPlay is beyond frustrating.

Everyday basic channels are not available. I send in feedback but never get any results. Spectrum should hire a new app team for redo, cause all the ones before we’re bad and the updates are not an improvement.

Won’t play on demand most of the time. Must be home to use it, when it works. Gonna look for something else.

Most of the channels I watch says needed to be connected to home WiFi if I was at home I would just watch on my big 73” tv not on my phone I was excited when I saw they had an app cause I work 2 jobs and figured I could watch my shows on breaks and stuff but no and why bother having demand or the DVR on the app if you can’t watch them anyways it makes absolutely no sense to me hope spectrum reads these reviews and fixes it because when I connect to my sisters Comcast app I can watch anywhere so if they don’t fix this app soon I will be switching my services to comcast

Doesn’t work with fire stick or chromecast

I’m so tired of the app working maybe 50% of the time. Every time you update I lose my favorites and I’m forced to reinstall them. And/or I lose the guide completely. When it works it’s a great app. When Brighthouse managed the app it worked 98% of the time. It has gone down hill ever since Spectrum took over. Sep 25, 2018 Well the latest update wiped out my favorites again, after it took two tries to get the app running. It’s frustrating. Very unreliable app.

The screen goes black and a message comes up telling me to go to my settings and shut off VPN. My vpn is always off. I do not use vpn. It kicks me off the ap and I continually have to delete and reinstall the ap Also when watching tv using my laptop via wireless at home. I cannot get local channels. 4-21. The channel comes up for 30 seconds then frozen screen and says its buffering. Does not happen on the upper channels. Just the lower. When I first ordered charter it worked fine. Then 1 day 6 months ago “ BAM “ no lower channels. This is only on my laptop. Not my I phone

This app is wonderful. I have it on several of my devices and just found out it will be on my Apple TV soon. It has never glitched or frozen. I can watch everything my box has to offer and I’m mobile. It’s great!

Ratting is a scam. When I submitted my review they only had a star and after I submitted my 1 star review the improved to 2 stars. Let me see if after I submit this 1 star review they increase to 3 stars. They do addition with 1 star reviews instead of ratting. Funny company.

Trying to watch some shows and it keeps saying.. ‘We’re sorry, something didn’t work quite right. Please try again later’. This is sooo frustrating!!! Please fix this!!! Then after you start a show and you have to pause it or exit out, it will restart the whole show over again!!! This is annoying!!!

This app does not work properly with my DVR. When I go to the on demand feature of the app and type in “House” it shows up on my phone. But when I tap on watch on tv it keeps loading and it gives me this error code. And I can’t tap the record button because it won’t record any of my shows. Can you all please fix these bugs? I got the app on my Samsung smart tv and it works for about 3 minutes before it closes itself down. Pretty disappointed honestly

I thought that this would be the answer but the performance is very spotty. Thinking of getting a roof antenna for locals and just picking up other channels through Hulu or Sling.

Latest update made it impossible for me to watch OnDemand. Treats me like we haven’t given Charter/Spectrum thousands of dollars. Our internet service has been trash lately, half our town was out of service about a week ago. Very disappointed to see how they treat customers who don’t have any other options.

I hereby nominate the Spectrum (Charter) App as the worst app of all time! I used to think Charter couldn’t get any worse, well apparently they put all their resources into changing their name, and left the app development to a team of absolute morons! I would say 9 out of 10 times I open this App it gives me some error and I can’t do anything but close it, reopen it again, and hope it will work. This has to be the worst App of all time!

The app itself is ok along with the services. Only problem I’m having, is that I’m watching on a mobile device and the subtitles will not shut off. It takes up a good portion of the screen as well, hopefully it will be fixed.

Why is it that Spectrum never fails to let you down.

Why can’t Spectrum figure out how to make this app work? When I can access it, it often cuts out in the middle of something. Or, I am suddenly unable to access at all, and receive an error message. What’s the point of that? I can’t find it online, or do anything about it. When I call Spectrum technical service, there is a high volume of calls, and a long wait. When I actually reach someone, they can only tell me to uninstall and reinstall the app, or restart the modem. They charge an outrageous amount of money for the service, which they don’t provide well.

This app has not worked for weeks. I would rather you discontinue this app versus teasing me with the possibility of it working. I get an error EVERY TIME. This app does not work on Apple or Droid products. If I could score this app less than one star, I would.

It’s down more than It works and their suggested fix is to uninstall and reinstall it. I’m frightened and sorry for anyone that buys into the new Spectrum Mobile service they’re advertising if this is their attempt at a mobile app.

One of the worst app on the market. Shame on a big company that can’t keep an app working with so many customers.

How can a company who manages a huge telecommunications infrastructure not be able to build a decent app? It freezes and boots me 19 times out of 20. Tragic. How does spectrum think it’s going to stay competitive when they can’t even deliver their content?

This is just does not work. Our cable boxes never work, either. We’ve gone through three boxes recently. Spectrum is the absolute worst cable company I’ve ever had. One of their longtime employees recently told me they don’t care about them or their customers.

A week doesn’t go by where it doesn’t crash either on ROKU or the app. I try to switch to another channel and it crashes. I turn the TV off and now nothing but an error displays. I check update thinking that may help, still locked out. PLEASE a fix this app so it is more reliable!

I wanted to watch a TV channel when I was away from home. Spectrum made me download the app. When I launched the app, it wouldn’t stream any of the channels, asking me to connect to my home wi-fi. If I were at home, why would I need the app? How stupid!

Gives me one error after another. Whether is cannot launch, cannot record, or another issue . Sometimes though it actually does work. And their advertised 100mbs internet speed is a joke. I know wireless will not achieve that, but I have speeds of 1 mbs. Ratings need to have choices of negative stars.

The app rarely works. It’s always crashing or throwing an error message. The web application is equally as terrible. This has been an ongoing issue. I wish they would have fixed it by now.

Since the last two updates it stops working at least once a day. Typically between 7:30-8:30pm The last update did not fix this. Each update seems to make the issue worse. This was a much better app two years ago.

It’s always a gamble when using this app. Half the time it works. Half the time it does not work. How can Netflix have an app that will play content 100% of the time?Spectrum needs to hire some of their developers.

It is almost pointless to have this App lately. It rarely works. I’ve tried all the “tricks.” (Uninstalling, reinstalling, powering down, opening from the update screen). Nothing works. Just gotta keep trying and hope it eventually comes up. If it does, there’s a good chance half the channels will be unavailable...

I typically refrain from writing reviews, but unfortunately I wanted to be another voice talking about the unpredictability of this app. One minute it works, 30 seconds later you receive error messages for everything you do. This is a very unstable app, and has been since I’ve downloaded it over a year ago. Not sure if it is being tweaked 24/7, the network is horrible, or the design has too many flaws in it, but c’mon Spectrum get it fixed!!

The app doesn’t even let you sign in.. all it does is show the into and then crashes.

When this app works, it’s good. But every time I start the app it’s a crapshoot as to whether it will initialize correctly. And if it does it another crapshoot as to whether it will be able to find a show without crashing.

This app used to work 50 % of the time ... since the recent update, it’s down to about 20% of the time . The guide and DVr functionality don’t work and if you get a channel to work, don’t change it ... This app is a total piece of crap. 20% of the time, it’s great. The rest... it just plain doesn’t work.

WITHOUT THE APP FREEZING AND LOSING SERVICE TO CHANNEL!!! theres is a litany of problems but this one bothers me most of all. it decides to stop working literally in the last minute before a commercial or something important. They want you to buy the shows dvd in order to watch any single complete episode! this is a new level of radioactive cancer P.S. my internet speed is 100mbps which easily supports 4K streaming with no issues, and this app is 1080p streaming. Also to get 100mbps from wireless you need a new router that uses beaming on the N frequency or uses A/C. but i recommend against using A/C wireless b/c its more radiation just like 4GLTE. the N wireless can reach 70-90mbps with the new ones that use 'beamforming' and that much is enough for 4K content even. So really A/C wireless is unecessary unless you're accessing huge files over wifi, most ppl wont and just use the internet. Use case: iphone+bluetooth mobile speaker on live stream comedy central

Wish I could give negative stars. This app has never worked right, cutting out when streaming, not displaying listings. But the latest update is THE WORST! It doesn’t even load anymore. USELESS.

I don’t review anything, if it doesn’t work I just move on but.... This has to be the worst app ever built, and I question the leadership at Spectrum for allowing this to happen. I am at the point to where I am going to cancel my subscription all together, and purchase my premium channels on Amazon. The worst part of this app is it only works half the time at best, the other half I get nothing but an error message. Spectrum should really be concerned with the damage to their reputation. An app released by a multi billion dollar organization should at the very least rated at 3 stars not 1.5 it’s sad.

This is a joke. My internet provider is Spectrum and is blazing fast but the app keeps telling me to check my internet connection. Worked one day on an IPad and be since won’t connect on either iPhone or iPad. Tried 10 times - tried reinstalling the app - no luck. There is no “remote” access to your cable subscription although though they tout it as such and charge accordingly . Terrible

Sep 25, 2018: This exact same Incorrect Time display problem still exists. ... Jun 20, 2018: Latest version of App is off by 4 hours. When it’s actually 9:00 PM the App says it’s 1:00 AM, although the program currently Airing is displayed correctly. This also causes App to be unable to select record on DVR.

In line with the tech support quality, this app is barely functional. It won’t allow you to control your dvr through your phone anymore. It says shows that are part of our package are not part of our package. It doesn’t even match our time zone. Other than that it’s merely awful.

I had no issues with the ap for a few weeks. Then it suddenly gives me error messages. Nothing on their site regarding q&a. For such a large provider, this ap is embarrassing.

This app is a complete joke! I was talked into this by a representative when I went to cancel my $200 a month basic package (that started out at about 1/3 of that price). I was met by the most rude and interrupting sales rep (CAMBRIA identification #H3P) they told me sorry about my bad luck that I can’t watch the TV I’ve paid for try again later. I then waited for a manager (MEGAN identification #CHU) She was sympathetic and she listened to my issues but nonetheless helpless into actually getting me The TV service I pay for for future lost service that she explained will definitely happen because this company did not pay for servers large enough to handle the extra volume that they gave some kind of promotion for. PLEASE FIRE CAMBRIA and give MEGAN some authority to make things right for customers instead of making them call in every single day spending hours out of their day to get a credit for a few pennies of lost minutes of service! Past that the app is not specific to your purchased package you are going to surf channels And I have to guess and check whatever channels you have. There are many other options out there this is now last on my list not worth the time or tiny amount of energy turn on your TV anymore. On the bright side this may be a way to get you up and do something different besides watch TV LOL. GREAT BUSINESS PLAN SPECTRUM!

The app works great but you cannot access all channels when off spectrum WiFi. This is bull. When the power goes out, I’d like to watch what I pay for.

Whoever created this app needs to think it over. This app can only be used at home and only when your u get lucky. Every and any content that you click on there is an error message that the content cannot be displayed. What a waste of time. I am planning the cancer this membership soon.

I don’t understand how a company that owns the Relatively easy to use and comprehensive Time Warner Cable app would produce this nothing burger. To make it worse, once I changed from the TWC App to the spectrum app I can’t go back and no one at spectrum in customer service understands how the app works. The new app is nowhere near as functional as the TWC app. I got passed round five times before I finally gave up and just opted not to use it anymore

The app crashes so many times you can’t watch a show. It says you can stream live tv and watch on demand episodes, but you can’t because it just crashes or won’t load despite other apps having plenty of internet access. I wish there was an alternative.

By far the worst streaming app, I specifically got it so I could watch nfl games and almost everytime I’m watching(or trying to watch) a game it freezes or some error comes on and throws me outta the app. I try getting back on and it tells me it’s currently unavailable . I called them and was told that it’s new and still figuring out glitches and such. So why am I having to pay spectrum more money and I still can’t watch my games. Makes no sense that there customers suffer because they can’t get it together!!!

I subscribe to four streaming services and even though spectrum is the most expensive the app works literally only 50% of the tine. So forgot the terrible UX and bugs, one night out of every two I can’t even get into it!! Cable companies are the worst as they obviously don’t care how bad their customer experience is.

Works about 25% of the time and fails midstream. What a piece of junk. Trying to watch nfl games is a nightmare.

This happens constantly to all my devices. App just stops working. Give some kind of error on all devices.

I got this app thinks my I’d be able to watch on demand episodes on my phone but it ends up playing downstairs in the living room. I believe it should be able to play the episode on your phone and not interrupt whatever was playing on the downstairs TV. Trust me. It’s INCREDIBLY awkward if you have a Japanese Anime on record...

Obviously this technology is amazing, there is no denying that. BUT, I believe that if I pay for spectrum cable (and the app) that i should be able to get every channel no matter where I am. That part is bullsh*t.

Haven’t tried watching tv on my phone, but trying to change channels on this app is ridiculous!! Always says channel cannot be accessed at this time. REALLY ANNOYING!!! You guys have had at the very least 2 years to get this straight. The ONLY reason I put up with it is because my dad hasn’t been frustrated enough with the constant price hikes to switch to direct tv. Yet... just noticed that if I don’t redirect the channels to A to Z, I can change channels. Maybe I just have to not set up the app the way I prefer it.

The app is super glitchy and there’s no fix after months. It's living its own life and only works when it feels like it. Most of the time, it won’t let me schedule recordings from my phone and instead gives me an error message.

This app is more concerned with copyright protection than actual usability. Bizarre VPN errors when you’re not even using VPN. If your WI-FI drops for a second, app will erase most of your channels because you’re not using spectrum internet. All these wonderful errors while your watching live sports!

App takes forever to open up and run and buffers all the time! For the amount of money that I pay every month the app should be working!!!

What a pain this app is. I constantly have to reinstall to keep it working . It crashes on a regular base and eventually it tell me that the channels temporarily unavailable and then I have to delete and reinstall . I wonder why it's so hard for a huge company like spectrum to develop an app that actually works !?!

It’s hard to imagine what the in-house discussions about the app must be like. “Hey, let’s not give it the capabilities our competitors build into theirs!” “Lots of error messages would be good.” “Let’s not get anywhere near cutting edge and let’s make it as buggy as it can be.” It’s a corporate embarrassment.

Doesn’t seem to work to set programs to record. Keep getting a message to try again later. Not very useful at all. Doesn’t anyone ever do a quality check on this app before releasing it?

Downloaded this app to my iPhone so I could watch general hospital while I’m at my child’s school waiting to pick them up and I have unlimited data on my plan and it won’t let me watch most shows especially my show unless I’m home connected to my WiFi. If I was home I would watch it on my bigger screen tv rather than on my limited sized screen on my phone. Total waste of time

Not sure what the low star ratings are about but this app works amazingly well and I really like everything about it. iPhone app, speed, ease of use, works really well, better than expected. TV remote control works seamlessly with the app. I have a Samsung smart tv so maybe other TVs don’t have that ability. I saved 8$ a month by not getting the box using only the app. I liked it before I knew app synced with remote. I can’t think of one way to improve it so far. Maybe I need more time to find something I don’t like.

I have had this app since the change over to Spectrum. The last couple months nothing has worked it always tells me check my internet like it’s on my end. I just read the bill received from Spectrum monthly and it basically states if I upgrade to Spectrum Gold I Should be able to do what I was already doing from Spectrum Silver. I wish I could take the one star rating for this travesty. I chatted support about this and once stating what I need ..... crickets... I wish I could take that one stat back as well.

This is quite possibly the worst app in existence on the IPad. It doesn't work more often than it does. It freezes and closes. It cuts you off in he middle of a show if it is even working. It is horrible. Time Warner touts "watch tv in any room" in all of their advertising and then gives you a terrible app that does not work. It is most certainly false advertising. To top it off the app is not supported by their customer service in any way. Do not rely on this app for your tv needs. Truly terrible. I never even write reviews and this app is so bad and has been frustrating for so long that I felt obligated to let other people know. It is an embarrassment. UPDATE w SPECTRUM - The app is just as horrifying as ever .... ZERO stars. What makes it even worse is that Spectrum has updated it several times and if anything it is worse than before. Please note that this applies to the Spectrum TV app and not any other service. I'm quite happy with the cable/Internet service and the customer service that goes with it.

If you want reliability, this app is not for you. Slow load times and more often than not I get the “this channel is temporarily unavailable” error even after I was just watching that channel 60 seconds before. Very frustrating, but really what else would you expect from Spectrum?

When will you offer full support for iPhoneX to fill the entire screen in landscape viewing?

this thing is garbage and will probably always be garbage, even with the most recent update on 9/20/18 this thing does not do what it’s supposed to. Get your stuff together spectrum you charge so much, and your service is no where near what you charge

I signed up for the TV choice as there is only a few channels I actually watch. You can’t stream to a chrome cast, and PS4 isn’t compatible. Watching on my phone/tablet/desktop, the result is the same. Whenever I am a few minutes into watching the show, it freezes up and gives me an error message. Do yourself a service and stay far away. This may be a relatively inexpensive service, but I pay to watch 1/10th of a show/game before it bugs out on me.

What happened? I loved watching our DVR from my phone when cooking dinner. Now I get an IUC-9000 error with an apology that something went wrong. C’mon Spectrum. Please fix this!

The app is terrible. It works neither on mobile devices nor on in home televisions. Constant error messages occur or the app glitches out and selects programs you are not trying to watch. Per usual with Time Warner/Spectrum, a service they offer that you pay for is complete and total garbage. Their garbage app and cable/internet is only outclassed by their awful customer service.

This app works about 20 percent of the time. Just tried again today and it wouldn’t work. I looked in the App Store and saw an update so I updated it. After that it worked even less if that’s a thing that could happen lol.

I feel it us unfair to garbage to call this app that. I’d rather fiddle around with trash than this horrific app. It actually used to be decent. Not great. Acceptable. It literally doesn’t load 75% of times. Error messages. Cmon, scrap it and hire some programmers. Shameful.

How is it possible a video app can be so bad in 2018

The app constantly loads, says that channels are not available when they were 5 seconds ago when you leave the app and come back in.

This app NEVER works! 99% of the time it tells me “something went wrong, try again later.” Not worth it.

I like the idea but the app needs serious work I can’t watch ANYTHING without it it lagging or buffering I thought it was my WiFi but I can watch Netflix Hulu just fine without any problem if they fix this than it would rate almost 5 stars

I uses about 12 different TV apps. This, by far, is the worst one. It is so bugged. I have had it for about six months now. It errors out once every 2 hours. And it’s very common not to get back into the app for several hours. Don’t plan on watching a show during family time. You will be greatly disappointed as it most surely will bug out in the middle. Like everyone else, I have been using all kinds of different apps for years. I have never seen one like this before. It’s so bad. Need support? Ha. Ya right. Even support knows how bad it is.

This app has NEVER ever been great, much like Spectrum’s awful in-home tv and internet service. But now whatever the most recent update did has made the app completely unusable. Error message every time I try to start it. Even after forcing it close, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc. Some nonsense about a VPN which I do not use and never have. Just when you think Spectrum can’t get any worse it does... I mean how does a cable company not even offer 1080P (when 4K TVs are everywhere now) or whole house DVR and yet they think they’re better than other providers like Direct TV... Not in a million years...and to think I thought AT&T U-Verse was awful... The change from Bright House to Spectrum has made an already not so great service even worse. Multiple pieces of huge bulky equipment are just the icing on the cake. Can’t wait until I can move somewhere else and get decent TV and internet service again along with an app that actually works! I would give this app zero stars if I could!

I don’t like the fact that unless you’re connected to spectrums WiFi you get limited tv channel access. The app is always crashing or having technical difficulties. When you first go onto the app it’s always buffering or never available then after clicking on it several times the few channels that are available without spectrum WiFi aren’t available or buffering. I either have to close in and out of the app several times before it starts working or delete the app entirely and upload it again. This also happens when I’m on my laptop or using my desktop at work.

I can’t use this app for the DVR I have. It keeps saying my DVR is not supported.

Never really used it before but it works perfectly on my iPad Pro on my home WiFi network. Watched the Dodger game, HBO, Showtime movies, PBS, BBC etc. no lag time at all. No crashes. I’m impressed.

Since update app still crashing, can’t set up recordings though hit and miss. More misses than hits. Deleted favorites from both set top boxes and app. Prices go up and service quality goes down.

Works 50% of the time. If I called customer service with the error code every time it told me to, all the agents would know me well.

This app never wants to work. Crashes, can’t play a channel it was already playing, can’t display the list of channels, a channel is unavailable... And the only option they give you is to try again later. Seriously? What am I paying for? So glad I’m moving soon to an area that Spectrum doesn’t have a monopoly over so I don’t have to keep wasting my money on them. Had issues with their internet for months and multiple techs came out and claimed nothing was wrong with it (despite other tenants in the complex complaining about the same issue) before they finally fixed it. On TV the channel guide looks like it’s from the early 2000s and searching for anything to watch is impossible because of it. The only way to troubleshoot anything is by lengthy phone calls. Most companies these days offer online chat tech support (and not from an automated robot like Spectrum). All in all, everything they offer is TRASH.

This app is so undependable that there is often little reason to use it. Constantly interrupts programming and makes watching tv impossible. Thought it would be nice to have with my Roku but boy was I wrong!

Hopeless! I used to watch the Spectrum TV App on my IPad and, while it wasn’t problem-free, at least it would occasionally work. For several weeks now, all I receive is a constant IUC-9000 error and nothing works. After escalating the issue with Spectrum, since I subscribe to their cable service, they finally informed me they no longer provide access to The Spectrum TV App on any Spectrum community based WiFi service (a change they made a few weeks back) even if you’re sitting in your own home. All I can say is goodbye Spectrum...you’ve managed to wean me from your lousy TV App and I’m back to just streaming TV programs via Apple, Netflix, Hulu, Prime, YouTube, etc. Turns out I really didn’t need your rotten TV App... Response to Developer Response: I did contact Spectrum Tech Support, as noted in my initial review above. And, although I individually subscribe to Spectrum cable, I do not individually subscribe to Spectrum internet. However, my residential community, for which I pay a hefty monthly fee, does subscribe to Spectrum internet WiFi for the community. Therefore, I supposedly do have Spectrum Internet but it is “community-based”. Your Spectrum Tech support informed me that they no longer support your TV App on community based internet, even if Spectrum is the provider. They said the IUC-9000 Error is the error received by accounts using Spectrum internet community WiFi and, according to your tech support, the only resolution is to purchase my own individual Spectrum based internet service...now why would I do that when I already pay a hefty residential community based fee for your internet WiFi that I only use in my home? Update as of September 1, 2018 Wow! The app actually seems to be working again, even though I’m still using Spectrum’s community based internet/Wifi at my residential community - tired of this company’s lies, especially from their support staff, who told me they “no longer support their own Spectrum TV App on their Spectrum residential community based services”. What a bunch of crap. Too many lies, too many times, to believe anything they say.... Update as of September 11, 2018 Back to constant IUC-9000 error... This app crashes 90% of the time! Anytime you hit a show you get the “sorry something went wrong error code 9000” really! Keep updating it and maybe it won’t load at all . Terrible app from a supposed high tech company.

This app is very very bad

I use the app to change the channels on my tv and to see what is on. The app doesn’t work half the time. I have even deleted and reinstalled it and it still didn’t fix the problem, saying we’re sorry didn’t work quite right, try again later. Please fix the bugs in the app so this problem won’t happen again.

Seriously, Spectrum could care less about customer service. Had this app when it was Brighthouse and it worked flawlessly. Worked for a while after Spectrum took it over but right about the end of August 2018 it just quit working and gave an IUC-9000 code. Company is impossible to communicate with. I guess at this time customer service is a super low priority! Super disappointing!

This app is the worst. The guide doesn't work half the time. You try to watch a show and get a message "something went wrong please try again later". Or a show is airing but it won't let you view it on your device only gives you the option to record. Please fix the app. Read the reviews for heavens sake. It is the worst. IUC-9000 error...try again later or data locks and does not load. Since this is a part of what spectrum advertise this you are purchasing, is disappointing that they can’t deliver as the current cost of their services are expensive.

Good thing the app is FREE, however I do pay good money for Spectrum service so I would think they would spend some money and fix the app! ARE YOU LISTENING?!?! FIX THE APP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pointless app. Trying to stream a show or game and anything I want to watch you have to be connected to the in home WiFi. Why would I want to stream something when I’m at home and can watch on the TV. Spectrum is the worst cable provider.

The app rarely works. Gives error sorry try again later. Overall spectrum is a horrible service. Total monopoly as I have no other choice. Would dump them in a second if I could. Avoid at all costs if possible.

Full of bugs and very unstable. Can't use the live viewing feature for more than a few minutes before an error message appears stating "channel unavailable." DVR control features work poorly or fail. Spectrum keeps updating the app but it keeps getting worse.

App won’t even load now. IUC-9000

You can’t download shows, even ones that you DVRed. You have to watch on of your DVR shows as on-demand so you have to watch all commercials. If you switch to another app for a second and then switch back, it starts the show over from the beginning and you have to watch all of the commercials of each break all over again. I miss Xfinity!!!!!! Their app is the BEST.

This app won’t even let me set a program to record. Basically, it’s useless. It’s really too bad, because the Time Warner version worked fairly well. This one, not so much!

Yesterday I was no longer able to record shows from the app and today after the latest update I can’t even load the app. I miss Xfiniti.

When I wanted cable to be installed in my kitchen after a two year break, the technician was unable to get it to work (it had previously worked since 1986) and he recommended I use the app. I had Apple TV, which is not compatible with Spectrum TV, so I bought a Roku device. Spectrum works on Roku less than 25% of the time. The same holds true for attempting to watch on my iPhone and IPad. I am beyond annoyed. I feel cheated by Spectrum and very frustrated. I wish I had never bothered with cable again. I am giving a 1 star rating only because the rating scale does not go negative.

I watch TV on this app every morning. Occasionally it has a problem, but I can live with that. Lately I’ve been getting a lot of glitchy pictures and random messages telling me that the channel I’m watching is unavailable. I updated and rebooted; no change. What’s going on???

This app crashes often or doesn’t display the channel. Instead it gives a 1001 error! How ridiculous! The worst part is that this only happens on certain channels, the ones you watch the most, they expect you to run to the phone and add a cable box so they can charge you a montly fee. No way!

Very buggy year over year. Channels don’t display. You need to constantly close and open app. Only thing consistent is the low standard of this app.

I made the mistake of letting the installer talk me into running this app on my smart tv instead of the full hardwire install. I thought it would be cool with no bundle of wires. Boy was i wrong! I’m ready to have them come out and hardwire. The app crashes at least 6 times per night and worst case i have to uninstall and reinstall at least once per night. Best case scenario I lose several minutes of a show till it comes back in. If you have any other choice USE IT!

I had this app on my iPad, it stopped working. I removed as per their suggestion and tried to reinstall it, however, it will not reinstall and is now in limbo trying to do so.

If you prefer viewing error codes rather than watching anything, this is the app for you. Works about 1 out of every 14 attempts. Here’s a list of things that that work better: 1) Anything 2) A boat with holes in it 3) Broken appliances 4) Toothbrush without bristles 5) One-ply toilet paper 6) Dried out markers 7) Our government 8) Wet paper 9) A fish riding a bicycle 10) Everything

Works correctly less than half the time

The app is inconsistent. Never know when it’ll work or not. It’s been going on for so long. Fix it! For example trying to dvr the emmys and it’s “unable”! Grrrr

Spectrum overall is c*** but the tv app is useless. 90% of the time I can't even get into the app..... always some kind of "oops - try again later" error message. Would like to change, but AT&T is worse.

The app takes an extremely long time to open. Then the functions rarely work (record, change the channel on the TV, etc). It works decent when it was Time Warner. Now that’s it’s Spectrum, it’s trash. Imagine that...

I really don’t like to use the word hate; but in regards to spectrum, I literally hate spectrum services!! Every since The switch was made from bright house to spectrum we have had nothing but trouble after trouble after trouble and then to top it off, they had to add all this extra equipment attached to our TV that we did not have to have with bright house. The phone app is always having trouble! Almost every day I have to delete my app and add it back on just to get it to work (and I have a iPhone X, so it’s not my phone)! Again, I can’t say enough how much I despise spectrum! If given a choice, go with another cable service!

This app used to work great, now it is a pile of garbage. I keep getting the vpn error every time I open it. Spectrum you need to step it up or I’m out.

I have been using this app for a month now. I don’t recommend it. First of all, it doesn’t work on Apple TV. It doesn’t work away from home. And often I can’t get it to work at all. Frustrated. Switching to another streaming company even if is a few dollars more.

I’m using the app on both a Roku enabled TCL TV and a Samsung TV. Works great on the TCL ROKU TV, not so much on the Samsung. Can’t pull up the guide, constant service unavailable messages, unresponsive. I’ve rebooted and reinstalled several times and nothing seems to fix it. 1.9 star rating should tell Spectrum how awful the app is. Getting ready to cut the cord and stream with other services.

Almost never works to watch tv even on my home WiFi. Has NEVER worked to schedule recordings while I’m away from home, plus it constantly crashes. How can such a huge telecom company have such a garbage app?

How many more months are we going to get this error message? Spectrum is too large of a company to have not handled this issue. I see that someone complained about this in May and it’s now September and it’s STILL happening. I guess Spectrum thrives on mediocrity. Keep it up and you’ll be the next company that AT&T swallows whole.

This app is pure garbage. The fact that it says it was just updated to fix a bug is pure comedy. The app constantly crashes and is a waste of space and memory on my device. Constantly kicks me off and says I need to login or use home WiFi when I’m At HOME using spectrum WiFi. My favorite is when it says to check my internet connection when I have SPECTRUM internet and all my other apps and websites are working perfectly fine. Why even put out this app if it’s going to be useless 98% of the time? I’d rather delete this app and pay for sling heck even directv now works better than this crap.

There’s so much to chastise Spectrum for, but I’m not wasting my time, it falls on deaf ears and blind eyes!

Better than it used to be but still needs work. For a major company like Spectrum there should be fewer bugs and flaws. This is an update to my previous review. It’s like their not even trying to fix it. It’s just error message after error message and frequent outages. Come on Spectrum get it together. Don’t know how much longer I will keep this service.

The old app, which worked very well, was replaced by a new app. And the new app is garbage. Even after working through the app with customer support to get it to allow “live TV,” it next stopped working altogether. Of course.

This player is TERRIBLE. If you pause your show and your device sleeps, the show starts over. Which is AWESOME when it won’t let you fast forward. This is basic stuff, people. I hate it.

This is one of the worst apps. Every day I lose connection with a channel. It’s so frustrating to want to watch the news and it never works. Technical difficulties ALL THE TIME. How hard is it to stream your service???! Netflix does it. Hulu does it. Other cable providers do it. What exactly is your problem????!!!

This app works sometimes to set the DVR to record but suddenly we don't even have the option to set to record anymore. What gives?! Also kinda dumb you can't watch your local channels unless your on wifi. Umm the power is out in the storm so now I have no idea what's going on in the news.

Spectrum’s Tech Support could not resolve the streaming issues. Viewing is worse when watching sports on local channels. Waste of money and there are better options available. This will be my last weekend watching blurred football games.

Five techs, reprogramming, rebooting, pixelating continues. One technician told me better to join Sling. I’m done.

Works most of the time, but it is very hard to launch the app during peak times. Errors out on the roku player a lot. Great when it works though.

It’s pretty bad considering it was developed by one of the largest media companies on the planet. Pretty sad really. Glitches daily. Certain channels don’t work on my home smart TV. Not surprised though, if you’ve ever tried getting resolution through tech support, you may as well just give up and hope it works better later, or not watch TV at all, and use apps like YouTube and the internet, that actually function properly.

Trying to take advantage of the streaming of live tv through the app and constantly get errors, or messages to try again later. Poor service especially considering how much our triple play bundle costs. Looking into tv alternatives.

During Hurricane Florence the spectrum network goes to crap, same as power they use the same poles for distribution. So let’s use cell phone app and Apple TV to make sure we are safe. Doesn’t work because we are not on spectrum WiFi network. But there is NO network. We I need it the most, it is not here for me. Hate this crap. Verizon and ATT are giving away free unlimited data during the storm, Spectrum not part of the solution.

Another night hoping to sit outside and watch a game on my phone. The modem and router are in the office about fifteen feet away and the app (once again) won’t open. Since the change from TWC, the app has functioned properly about half the time.

It’s terrible, doesn’t open. When you call in you get a “well they told me it’s fixed”. NOT. And the summary of the latest update is “we fixed the app”. NOT. I’m so happy I’m paying over $200 a month to Spectrum and the app (which I use for a channel guide) is worthless. I believe the government concern with the Time Warner merger was a decline in service. No kidding...

For the monthly amount one plays spectrum, Customers expect and deserve better. Go out and pay qualified designers and engineers to make this right!

I have had the Spectrum app for many months. It worked fine (4.5*). After having been away for 2 months, I decided to use it this evening to watch something. No luck. Just an error msg saying I must turn off my VPN to use the app. After some time spent finding out what a VPN is and where I might find it in Controls, I discovered neither I nor anyone else has set up a VPN on my iPad. I see I am not the first person to have this problem. How hard can it be to fix this bug?!!?

These negative reviews amaze me. I have had an almost flawless experience plus local channels, multi-streaming, picture-in-picture, and cheaper than Sling. I’m very, very satisfied. I wonder how many of these problems are due to the quality of the internet connection. I have 400mbps service (a $25 premium). Back when I had the standard 99mbps service I found Sling buggy. Perhaps this streaming app would have similar problems. There’s no contract. You can probably get 30 days free to check it out. I recommend trying it out on your network to see if if it works.

There isn’t an anything other than the cheap price in the spectrum ads that is true. Their app is horrible. It works maybe if you’re in your house, but if you want to watch TV any place outside of your home forget it. The app straight up doesn’t work or it crashes or it freezes. In the ads they tell you to binge watch your favorite show forget it! They provide you with maybe five or six episodes out of all the seasons, and those are the only ones you get to watch. By the way they’re also the same shows that are available through the network apps. So they don’t provide you with anything you can’t get from someone else. As for live television, forget that too. you get to watch maybe five or six channels out of the 120 or 200 for which you paid. Live sporting events if you’re traveling with your family, you’re at the beach or want to do something for the day? No forget it. You better be home if you want to see it on your mobile app! As soon as I can I am so getting rid of spectrum and going back to dish! You really did get to watch mobile anything you wanted any where you were at. Again as far as I’m concerned Spectrum should be sued for false advertising I’ve had more problems with their service than I had in all the years I had dish.

Takes me to their website within the app. Says to enter username and password. I do. Log in is successful. I click to manage DVR and it sends me to the app. Mind you, I’m already in the app. Then it takes me to the main app login and says my username and password aren’t recognized. Garbage integration.

Hopeless! I used to watch the Spectrum TV App on my IPad and, while it wasn’t problem-free, at least it would occasionally work. For several weeks now, all I receive is a constant IUC-9000 error and nothing works. After escalating the issue with Spectrum, since I subscribe to their cable service, they finally informed me they no longer provide access to The Spectrum TV App on any Spectrum community based WiFi service (a change they made a few weeks back) even if you’re sitting in your own home. All I can say is goodbye Spectrum...you’ve managed to wean me from your lousy TV App and I’m back to just streaming TV programs via Apple, Netflix, Hulu, Prime, YouTube, etc. Turns out I really didn’t need your rotten TV App... Response to Developer Response: I did contact Spectrum Tech Support, as noted in my initial review above. And, although I individually subscribe to Spectrum cable, I do not individually subscribe to Spectrum internet. However, my residential community, for which I pay a hefty monthly fee, does subscribe to Spectrum internet WiFi for the community. Therefore, I supposedly do have Spectrum Internet but it is “community-based”. Your Spectrum Tech support informed me that they no longer support your TV App on community based internet, even if Spectrum is the provider. They said the IUC-9000 Error is the error received by accounts using Spectrum internet community WiFi and, according to your tech support, the only resolution is to purchase my own individual Spectrum based internet service...now why would I do that when I already pay a hefty residential community based fee for your internet WiFi that I only use in my home? Update as of September 1, 2018 Wow! The app actually seems to be working again, even though I’m still using Spectrum’s community based internet/Wifi at my residential community - tired of this company’s lies, especially from their support staff, who told me they “no longer support their own Spectrum TV App on their Spectrum residential community based services”. I use this app only if I have to because it loads over and over. Buffers constantly. Most recently I cant even you is because I keep getting the error message IFE-1004? Just ridiculous. My internet is working. Ive done all the reboots, uninstall...etc. Never works. So either there’s a conspiracy with Spectrum slowing people’s internet or it just plan stinks. Unless you buy the most expensive option your given the slow connection. Even though they say it’s not. Not to mention you cant even watch all the channels you pay for away from your home. It’s kinda the point of using the app for me (when Im away). Time Warner did this but everything else has gone down since spectrum took over and they raised the rates even though they try to tell you they didn’t. Or they think they’re doing you a favor by giving you the TW discount. Which is the only good thing because I would be paying more for the same services I have now. Its all a joke.

This is one of the worst apps I downloaded. It is slow to pull up, Doaa to work on the road; only reason to use the app. Doesn’t work without home WiFi. Why in the world I would want to watch tv on my phone at home. Worthless.

Is it possible to give negative stars? This app is the black hole of apps. It works about 10% of the time maybe. I think Spectrum sells you on their service with their app, then hires the most incompetent people it can to develop it so that customers get frustrated and rent one of their cable boxes for an outrageous monthly fee. Classic bait and switch.

When it works it does alright, but I am just as likely to get an error message as I am to be able to use the app. As I pay for app/online cable services only, this is unacceptable. Get it together Spectrum.

When it works, which sadly, is almost never, it’s easy to use and convenient. Constant “try later” messages. Spectrum, you can do better.

Didn't work at all on my high speed Spectrum internet service. Maybe it's this lackluster 12.9in iPad Pro. No it's this bad app. Won't load at all. All my other apps and browser work. I have Spectrum's full line of cable and fastest internet service but I will likely cancel. Service is suboptimal.

Open it, while connected to Spectrum internet, and get an error. Every time. Absolute garbage.

If it’s not fighting for a connection, then it’s busy taking forever to load from the slow internet. If it’s not doing that, then it’s busy crashing with errors every two to five minutes. Apparently there was an update last week and I don’t see why these issues aren’t addressed. It’s been happening for months. It’s irritating trying to watch anything. Luckily Netflix and Amazon have quality programmers.

All I get are the spectrum logo while the app tries to load and then error codes of why it can’t. I also have Charter/Spectrum phone, cable and internet so if it’s a connectivity issue, that would also fall on Charter/Spectrum. Whatever the issue, it’s making the app useless. I think there needs to be some technical revamping of this app because it would be a really great app....if it was functional.

If I could give negative stars, this app deserves it!!! An absolutely abomination, how does Apple allow apps like this into the AppStore? Pretty scary a company like charter have developers that have a 5th grade skill set!!!!

Opened the app for the first time after spectrum folks told me how cool it was.. IGE-9000 error code and no idea why. Closed and reopened the app... nothing. Oh well. I did get the app working on my Xbox so at least I have seen it work somewhere.

I watched things on this all the time. Unfortunately, I updated a couple days ago and now nothing works. It just freezes my iPad. Will try again then will delete the app.

I struggle to give this app 2-stars. I would say it does not load 50% of the time receiving a window saying “Sorry, something most have gone wrong..... please try...”. I have gotten kicked out while I’m watching it for only a couple of minutes! Then cannot get back in. The quality of the picture is at best average. I find myself asking if this organization wants a poor product forcing you to get their bigger packages, with a DVR...? Very poor app for a high speed internet company!

Constant errors using the Live Tv app on my phone/iPad. App works successfully about 50% of the time. No issues with internet or cable services.

The app is so bad, I have to assume Spectrum really is just trying to push you to watch on TV. Why won’t closed captioning turn off on IPad. Terrible.

I’ve been trying for two weeks to access the Spectrum TV app and each time get an error “We’re sorry, something didn’t work quite right. Please try again later. IGE-9000”. What a piece of crap. And of course, there is no one to contact unless I want to spend an hour on a chat with someone from an unknown offshore location who only knows to have me reset the router. The problem is this s***** app! Either fix it or remove it!

TWC app used to have some issues that could be overcome by trying again, this app is worse. What a fail. Fail. So bad. Update 9/5/17. Still locks up. Have to force kill. Updated today 9/12.
