I used a gift card for my last movie. I was not able to make it to the movie and I was so happy that I could get a credit for the purchase price. However, when I went to buy tickets today only my credit for the tone ticket price was in the app not the other $12 that was on the gift card. I discarded the gift card because every other app I use it keeps the balance. Will not purchase any other gift cards for myself or as gifts.

Tried to sign in. No way to get my password reset. Kept telling me an error had occurred Tried live chat. On hold 7 minutes. I was 23rd in line with a 4 minute wait. Then I was 16 with a 6 min wait then I was DISCONNECTED. Of course. Just gave up and went back into app & signed in as guest. Too hard.

It’s pretty s***** in my opinion that you can’t store gift cards on the app. You would think with today’s technology Fandango would be able to do this. I don’t like carrying around gift cards and I don’t always have them with me. If I want to go see a movie and want to use Fandango, I won’t if I don’t have the gift cards on me or they are not available at that time. I will just use another company to buy the tickets. Fandango should know this can happen to most anyone and to avoid lost revenue they should have the ability to store their gift cards on the app. I am in the business field and I would like to think I know a few things about generating revenue. Not everything, but enough to know that making an investment in something that makes things easier for consumers will eventually pay off.

Great easy service to buy tickets

Every time I try to use Fandango to buy tickets, it takes MULTIPLE attempts for my purchase to go through. It doesn’t matter if I use the website or the app. There is always some problem.

Really. I would prefer Netflix then this. I was trying to find something with movies, and I found this. But none of them not even ONE is at least free. Like can you at least make most of the movies free please? I want to watch movies that a love. But this isn’t helping me at all. So please make most of it free.

Fandango is very convenient for booking tickets for me and the family. Don't have to wait in long lines and walk right in. Of course everything come with a price, small convenience fee is applied

I ordered 4 tickets for me and my family and we were unable to get to the movie at the theatre I choose on time so when I tried to inform them I was unable to get to the show the app wouldn’t allow me to select my option . I then waited until I got home and tried to contact them and it still didn’t work . I kept getting an error that I had to come back at a later time . I chatted with someone the next day and he informed me he had to turn my request for a refund over to the escalation department for further review . They e mailed me and said I couldn’t get and exchange or refund . That is bazaar seeing their website was under some type of construction and I lost out on $30! I will never use this app again and I don’t think people should have to go through this type of experience when this app is supposed to be used as a perk to get your movie tickets ahead of time .

If you make a mistake with the app, a simple human error, their customer support call center will do nothing to fix the issue. Not a manager, not the corporate office, no one will work to satisfy the customer. You will stay on the phone for hours, which will then have email sent to their corporate office only to receive a ‘too sad, too bad’. I’ve been very loyal to the ‘fandango app’ for years, but now I’ve learned they just want my money. My family and I will never use fandango again, and let me tell you I am avid Friday night premier night to all new movies. An experience I have been a part of for over twenty years. Very passionate about film, not fandango.

Company will not refund you your money. It’s a set up they say call before the movie starts but no one will answer the phone. They are a third party so speaking to a supervisor or corporate doesn’t help. It’s best to download Cinamark or AMC to order tickets instead of this company. I paid 71.00 for tickets and two kids didn’t show up and they wouldn’t refund me 14.00 after I had spent majority of my money. Do not use this app.

I used this and I’m so happy I got big rewards and it connected to my other movie reward account. So I’m getting my rewards for everything I have been so happy with this App I use Apple Pay so much easier.

I took my time cause I had to run and deposit enough cash to go to movie because I had my cash and no money on my card I slowly took my time getting my info in while racing to the bank to deposit to get these tickets and the company never said hurry you only have so many min left or rushed me or anything so easy to use and I got my tickets. Absolutely impeccable story telling, script, characterizations, voice acting, animation, music, orchestration, musicianship, production design,...simply everything is firing on all cylinders! Loved it in 3D too. Do NOT miss this on the BIG screen!

It took over an hour and 5 tries until the app accepted my selections and payment. It kept replying that it couldn’t complete the process at this time and to try later. If I didn’t want to see the movie so much I would have quit earlier. Pretty frustrating.

Convenient but honestly I have an $8 promo code then they have a service charge if $3. Kinda cuts into my free ticket code money so that’s not cool.

If you buy a gift card the recipient can’t use it at the theater. You have to go online were then they will charge you to use the same gift card. How is that a fair practice? Thanks

I absolutely love using the FANdango app to purchase movie tickets. It is fast, user friendly, and incredibly efficient. Best of all, no more standing in line to purchase tickets and the VIP points that can be used towards future tickets is awesome.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Fandango app. It is sooo easy to use and so convenient. I always purchase my tickets ahead of time and earn point not only for my VIP Fandango account, but it is also linked to my Regal account where I earn points as well. Fandango app...don’t go to the movies without it!!!

The gift cards are a hassle to use. Is there a way to add the funds from the gift card to your account and use the full amount? I now have 7 gift cards and has $1.50 left on them.

I love Fandango. Is super easy to use. You buy your tickets , go to the theater, they scan your ticket from your phone. That’s it.

It’s convient but don’t like the convient fee.

Sorry. This could be a 5 Star app but to charge an additional convenience fee over the cost of the movie is a total rip off. Can’t hardly get good seats without doing this , then they charge you extra. Bummer

I had to try three times to buy tickets today because of the way the app handles multiple people attempting to purchase the same seats at the same time. I was trying to buy six tickets and instead of holding the non conflicting tickets and letting me select two new seats to replace the ones in someone else’s cart, the app throws a 502 error and I have to start all over. Please fix this design flaw.

I've used Fandango for years but now I'm totally annoyed that the iOS of my 5 year old iPad cannot be updated to use Fandango! Really? Planned obsolescence? My iPad is perfectly fine but I should now pay $350+ to replace it because of the operating system? I imagine more apps will follow suite.......Grrr.

I love fandango no complain here but they advertise that if you’re a vip and buy a certain amount of tickets and earn 600 points you get your next ticket free. I was also excited about mine just to learn it’s to rent or buy movies on their Fandango Now. I didn’t even know what the h*** was a fandango Now until today. I didn’t earn my points for renting or buying no movies, I got them from buying MOVIE TICKETS FOR THEATERS and the advertisements was 600 VIP points and your next TICKET FREEEE

First time ever writing a review for an app, it deserves it. Never encountered a bug in all the years I’ve used it. Never had bad or conflicting data. This app has been the start of many great memories with my loved ones. Well done, developers.

Fandango app is convenient, yes. But, I went online to see the prices at the actual theater and the price of tickets match but fandango charges an extra 1 for pretty much taxes. Might as well just use the Cinema movies app instead.

Senior tickets are less than Fandango tickets. Gift cards for seniors are useless.

Set up an account, but couldn’t for the life of me log into it. The App greets me by name, but when I go to purchase tickets it asks me to login, but won’t take the username and password I just set up.

I’m thrifty and this fee irritates me.

I dont go to movies much. I believe the prices are just rediculous and netflix is easier. But i decided to go see a movie by myself for the first time ever and lo and behold its DISCOUNT DAY for this one movie at this one theater than i chose and rather than paying $12+, i got it for $5. Definitally doing the happy dance and way more excited to see my movie. Thank you Fandango!

I go to the movies 1-2x a month and this app is a necessity for me. Reserving seats/tickets right from my phone is fast and easy. It works great for frequent travelers as well.

The seat assignment feature wasn’t accurate. The seats I purchased didn’t exist when I arrived at the theater and the movie was sold out.

Love the app. Love that you earn points and get $6 promo codes for what YOU want. Either tickets, digital movies, or merch. What else could you ask for. I only use fandango for my purchases. Best part is always knowing where I’m gonna sit during any blockbuster before I arrive.

Worst customer service ever. Don’t care about making things right. Will never ever use this app ever again. But your tickets at the theatre to save you the trouble of dealing with these bafoons.

The variety of the movie theater selection and prices can save you time and money not only that it keep track of the movie ticket that you have purchase before. I don’t understand the vip points but they do reflect after the movies and it would be amazing if you could review the movies.

Honestly there’s no down fall, it works as it should.

1. The app charges you fees for every ticket and NOT for every transaction. So of you buy 4 tix, that’s an extra $6 at $1.50 each. Unless it’s a life or death situation then more power to ya. 2. Another I problem I have with the app is that you can not tell if the lounge seat you’re getting has a recliner. The app does not tell you that. Stick with purchasing ticket straight from your local movie theatre app. 3. No refund if you change your mind. They can only give you credits on tix you bought. Fansuckoo...

Fandango app is easy to use and convenient, however $6.00 fee is too much for one transaction. It should be a fee for each transaction NOT each ticket since you didn’t do anything additional for each ticket. That’s ridiculous!

My friends and I were waiting in line for The Incredibles 2 and that line was so long, you'd think we were in an amusement park. Anyway, if we'd stood in that line, the tickets would've sold out like they did anyway. As I was standing in line, I remembered I have Fandango so I went ahead and bought my tickets in the app and skipped the line and not too long after getting my 3D glasses, they announced that the movie was sold out. Use this app and SKIP THE LINE, PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

It’s a little clunky and should allow you to add gift cards and save them before making purchases. Also, if you earn code to purchase posters, you should be able to sync directly with the app without having to type in the promo code.

I like the service - a lot - but the app streams videos automatically, eating up my data, so I avoid using when not at home or connected to free wifi. Naturally, this makes the service much less convenient.

After receiving a gift card from a friend I was excited to see a movie..after realizing the crazy “convenience fee” I might as well have bought my own ticket. After this usage I won’t be using Fandango again :/

I like it because it’s cool to be able to buy ahead to ensure good seats... but I was surprised when I bought three tickets and one of my friends couldn’t make it to the movie and I couldn’t return only one ticket I had to return all of them which isn’t that big of a deal, I just thought it was odd. Also, I tried contacting their customer service line but my phone locked be accident so I got pushed to the back of the line after I was only 15 seconds away from talking to someone, and when I waited again I made sure my phone didn’t lock and I was once again seconds to talking to someone, and it went back to 3 minuets and a couple of seconds... like I said not big deals just a little frustrating and odd.

These movie ticket applications are stressful! I literally waited 10 minutes between choosing seats and 10 seats were already reserved under the row we wanted. The movie theater is supposed to be an a special experience but now that they have Fandango and Adom app it’s so hard to get a seat. The movie that I’ve chosen isn’t even a new release so I don’t see how 2 hours before the move is to be shown mostly all of the seats are reserved. I have a sneaking suspension that they “ghost” reserve seats and then release them later just to get people to stress out and choose a seat quickly. If this movie was still showing at my other city theater then i wouldn’t need to use this lousy service.

Apples very easy to use and convenient to purchase tickets online and then add them to my Apple wallet.

Our local theater allows advanced reserve seating so we used this app to buy tickets to a movie next Friday! We hardly ever go to the movies anymore but if it’s this easy we just might go out more often! ☺️ We picked the seats we want so now we don’t have to deal with c*** seats or showing up early... They’re already paid for so we can just get in line for popcorn... And the app sent the tickets right to my Apple Pay wallet! Five stars! Now I’m gonna go back and watch some movie trailers. Haha

Convenience fee of 15% - 20% of the cost of the ticket was way too high. I tried to get a refund, but that was too much of a hassle. While the app is nice and works well, l definitely will not use this service again until the fees come down.

New to using phone apps and this was the easiest app to navigate and use. Totally recommend to all, especially the others that are not very comfortable using apps.

Processing fees is expensive

Love the app, but hate waiting at the theatre for everyone to show up before walking through the door. When I buy multiple tickets I should be able to send (text) the tickets to those meeting me there.

I used Apple Pay to purchase some tickets for The Incredibles 2, and I am not able to place them onto my wallet on iPhone. It is very frustrating, and it even includes a screenshot on how that would look like but it doesn’t happen.

This app is perfect for Looking for movies in purchasing movie tickets while on the fly. Now the negative, when you want to watch a movie trailer you’re stuck watching an advertisement for some s***** product does not even related to the film I would give this app five stars but it’s bad enough when I got to watch a two minute advertisement just before watching a one and a half minute movie trailer.

This app makes it easy to collaborate with my girlfriend when trying to decide movie times when we’re planning on meeting up due to the iMessage app. Awesome too that I can walk right in after paying on my phone without having to stand in line. This app is worth the download and if I had to purchase it for $1.99, or around that price, I 100% would. Seamless experience.

Clicked on incredibles but superfly ended up in my wallet. UI/UX needs to be better. They keep convenience fee how convenient. 😡 Perhaps a 10 min grace period would be nice.

The application itself is fine. The rewards program stinks. Rewards expire in two weeks from the time you earn 600 points. It gives new meaning to “frequent flier”. I think 30 days would be more reasonable.

I can’t buy tickets I had to go to safari and use the desk top site to buy tickets today .. very not happy with the update .. maybe you didn’t squash the bigs you thought .. iPhone 7 user..

How come we can no longer provide half stars in ratings? Ratings don't seem to save, or at least aren't viewable in the app. Please fix these things! Also, please add partial refunds for tickets. If someone can't make it, it doesn't make sense to have to do a full refund and repurchase when reserved seats are involved.

Easy to use but this time I attempted to purchase john Wick 1&2 but no matter how I tried I couldn’t order them. So sad especially because I have never been disappointed before.

Also, it’s very convenient when you have Apple Pay. Sometimes when you don’t use Apple Pay the transactions don’t go through.

Charges $4 non-refundable convenience fee for ordering tickets online. I gave my girlfriend my card to order the tickets and she didn’t see that notice due to the small text

Some one gave me a gift card. I kept it for a while because I didn’t know how to use it but then I found the app and I expected it to be easier and it was, but I see the theater that I use all the time ticket price was more on Fandango and on top of that they add a convenience fee to use their gift card and you are using their app. This was a gift card given to me. I assume they will honor my tickets with this confirmation number.

This here app is pretty dang good. I’m like’n the fact that it gives me points for gettin them there tickets. I use them thar $5 rewards for my next trip to the flicks with the Kin Folk. Makes for a good time and a good deal. Use it for the sake of warm bullfrog on a cold winter day.

I have been using Fandango for a long time and have purchased tickets through their app in excess of 50 times between my partner and myself. All went pretty smooth. However, you never really know the true integrity of a company until you have an issue and see how they handle it. The ONE TIME I have an issue - I am unable to reach anyone for almost 2 weeks!!! It’s impossible to reach any sort of customer service and then when you finally do, they literally don’t care. The agent disconnected our chat before I was even done speaking. Incredibly rude and didn’t help me with my problem at all. I won’t support a company that doesn’t care about their customers. If a company has bad customer service or if you cannot even reach their customer service that’s a giant red flag. There are many other (better) options such as ATOM, FLIXSTER, REGAL CINEMAS & MOVIETICKETS.COM!! Please consider these options if you wish for the company you have spent lots of money with to value and appreciate you and your business.

Also if you select seats and quit, those two seats will appear to be occupied. A bug that has been there for many versions. This is a tough app to use and use gift cards. And does not show remaining balance on your gift card nor how to use it.

Bought a couple of tickets to go see a movie. Before we go to see the movie we stopped to eat and one of my kids got sick so obviously I wanted to make sure my kid was ok. Needless to say we missed the movie because of him getting sick. I tried to explain that to them and they said I couldn’t get a refund because it was after it started. So apparently i should’ve gotten in contact with them instead of taking care of my sick child. Worst app ever would never recommend anyone to use it. Worst customer service. Will never use it again and advising all my friends to not use it either. I would give it no stars if it were allowed.

I tried to exchange my tickets for a Fandango credit, about 3 hours before the movie started. It cost $27. I used a $5 promo from their rewards program and then paid $22 of my own money. Their app won’t let you get your $22 back because you used a $5 promo code. I’ve been on the phone for 45 minutes and I will never use them again. Look at the other apps. They have no care for their customers time.

Trying to spend money on movie tickets and just starts loading video ads or previews, not sure...didn’t stick around long enough to use the app and force closed it. I’ll buy my tickets elsewhere I guess Fandango doesn’t want me to spend money

Love the convenience of the app but not being able to use more than 1 gift card in a single transaction is a drag. The convenience fee for buying tickets through the app is also too high. Because of the high fee, I only use Fandango when someone gives me a gift card as it’s not my money being spent.

Venmo payments don’t work for some reason. The app tries to process and open up Venmo on my phone, I allow it, and then a browser page opens up saying there was an error. In order to buy the ticket with Venmo I have to complete the whole transaction on Chrome. Same result, I know, but it would be great if the app worked like it should.

Here in Reno and want to catch a move. Open Fandango and bam, got movies, directions and purchased tickets through my VIP account. Easy peasy.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences using this app. I made an error booking a movie at the wrong location and I was able to easily get credit to reschedule the movie I wanted to see with my daughter.

I think it would be really nice if fandango would list whether your chosen seats are a recliner or not . A suggestion is to just put an R on each recliner seat and put an S on standard seats .So in theory I would go to reserve seats for let’s say avengers end game and I see a map of the auditorium with each seat clearly listed as either S for standard seats and R for recliner seats. If you guys (Fandango) are really trying to be cool you guys would list couple seats too. I really think Fandango is nice for convenience and overall Is good to use .

I went on to buy incredibly hard to get Avengers tickets in IMAX 3D. Shows only offered 1x per day. I went to site and kept getting “Timed Out” when it came to purchase. So I left house to go to mall to buy tickets. Kept trying from my phone on the way and FINALLY completed purchase on my way to mall. Disrupted large part of my afternoon.

I would first like to mention that I just purchased tickets to see Avengers: Endgame and I am very very excited to see it in a couple of days! I was wondering if during some update it was possible that the Apple wallet update has changed? When you bought a ticket to a movie, it used to ask you if you would like to put the ticket in your Apple wallet, but now I just give you a confirmation code that you give to the cashier at the movie theater. It was way simpler when you just have them scan the QR code from your Apple wallet. Otherwise I would have rated it a little bit higher. Other than that, great app

The best thing about this app is how easy it is to back out of a screen. That way you can search multiple movie times quickly, especially with reserved seating, without having to wait for the main page to reload. Well done!

I just don’t like the processing fee $3.40 that’s a little steep but I like the convenience so I guess there’s no need to complain.

Before I got this app, I would try to buy tickets online, but frequently something would go wrong. Several times I went to the theater to find that my purchases hadn’t gone through. Sometimes the movie I wanted to see was sold out. I’m in their VIP program and I get nice little bonuses like movie posters or early viewing times for new movies.

I just purchased four tickets intending to use the remaining balance on a Fandango gift card, but I didn't know how much was left on the card. I ordered the tickets and then put the card information in and the total fee after the five.xx dollars on the card was more than it would have been to buy the tickets at the theater. The fees are excessive for not getting any kind of service.

I couldn’t make a showing and it was after the start time by a few minutes, they wouldn’t give me a credit so I could watch the movie at a different time. I waited for 2 hours to speak with somebody, but to my surprise it was just a texting box and the person I was texting disconnected with me when I was expressing how frustrated I was. What I expected to be really simple turned out to be cheap, time consuming, and irritating.

I accidentally choose the wrong movie theater. I quickly exchanged it so I would not lose the money I paid for the convenience fee. Instead I just ended up paying double the fee for the same movie as I was charged a new convience fee. I will not use Fandango again because this is an unfair policy.

There are a lot of clicks involved when searching for good reserved seating for a group. The app is more responsive than the website for this, but still lacking and considering how far along ui & ux is now in the app world, I’m surprised that fandango still has this much friction in their experience. Getting a single seat is easy and doesn’t really require the service since there are always so many singles available compared to getting a group of seats. Being able to visually see the seat selections for movie times for a theater prior to the four clicks to see one seating option, then another couple to see for another if the seating isn’t great is tedious. Of course I’m be down for anything that makes this easier.

High Connivence Charge

It’s a good app, lets you easily find tickets but the fees are getting higher and the app is slowly becoming littered with ads. There’s room for someone to write a better app and beat fandango. They’re bloated.

App randomly crashes and logs me out of my account. Very frustrating to use and bad customer service. Don’t bother using this trash app.

I was very satisfied with the Fandango app until recently when it no longer seems to list Landmark theaters anywhere. Since most of the theaters in my area are Landmark, this ruins the apps usefulness to me but also makes me wonder if Fandango is intentionally blocking Landmark for some unfair reason

Would be good if the app allowed you to reserve your seating. I can pick the movie, the movie time, the theater, the number of tickets, but when it’s time to reserve seating at select theaters the app loads and loads and loads only to NEVER pull up the seating charts!!! I have uninstalled numerous times and still NOTHING!!! Fix this! This is absolutely unacceptable coming from such a mainstream movie outlet. Smh
