A complete joke

This app is a total disaster. I have an account, get magazines mailed to me every week, but can never get my subscription to work online. I am not even sure an intern is staffing the AppStore department at EW. Another sign that the mainstream magazine world will soon cease to exist. The app is an utter embarrassment for EW.

Why do I always need to re-login?

I’m constantly needing to re-login to download new issues. This is super annoying. It also doesn’t remember my login credentials. Get with the times, EW!

Worst Magazine App Ever! Such A Waste

None of the functions in the Setting work. If you need to restore your subscription purchases through iTunes - forget it. Wasted so much time trying to get my subscription restored/recovered by iTunes and via the App restore function or via the “contact us” option which basically after several tries with no resolution or even a reply acknowledgement -I gave up. Guess the next step is to just cancel this e-Magazine altogether!

Why update it only to make it worse?

It’s a good thing there isn’t an option for zero or negative stars because that’s what the updated EW app deserves. I typically don’t write reviews but felt compelled to due to my frustration with the app. Gaining access to my paid product has become an ordeal. Instead of being able open the app and download the latest issues I have to constantly log in/subscribe and on one occasion was charged for a magazine even though I bought a two year subscription this past spring. I enjoy the EW Magazine very much and have been a long time subscriber but unless they fix this app I will not renew my subscription.

Soooo sloooooooooow

I think this app runs on dial up. Pretty much need to tap everything three times before you get to see the spinning wheel for a few solid minutes. Now it won't even let me log in anymore

Going back to paper

As many have pointed out, the new app is horrible. I used to love your app and even used it as an example of what a magazine app should be like. Now, it's unusable. No way to bookmark or return to where you left off. No more hyperlinks to view videos, trailers, purchase books etc. To delete an issue it's now multiple steps. Hate the distracting swipe up for reader view on every page. And I now often receive my paper copy before the digital is even available. I find myself reading the paper copy more and more often. Why did you ruin such a great app???

Horrible app

The app has you relog in, asks you to purchase, download, swipe up for reader mode, is fidgety, flakey, infuriating, and by the time I get the app to work, the mail carrier can pretty much deliver a paper copy through a foot of snow to my door. So, it’s a waste of time, makes me crazy, and makes me consider dropping my subscription and forsaking entertainment and moving to a cabin in the woods. With or without zombie redneck torture family.*****Additionally, I used to be able to access the online version on Fridays. Now the online version is not available until noon Saturday. The preview content is available. If I wanted to pay for full access I could, but as a subscriber, I have to wait. Horrible.

Swipe up for reader view

Yeah I get it... I can swipe up for reader view. I don't need a pop up every time I swipe to a new page. Please make it stop! I just want to read it like a magazine

This is possibly the worst app I’ve ever installed. It used to be a mediocre app—now it loses your subscription, and very poor navigation through the magazine.

No way to easily access individually purchased issues

The app will restore purchases, but there is no way to access just your purchased content without wading through week after week after week of non-purchased issues to try and find your content.
