Agree with the other negative feedback, which apparently is falling on deaf ears. Random issues are somehow locked and I am expected to pay for issues that are a part of my subscription?! Plus, all issues prior to The end of January, 2015 are missing...won’t scroll past that point so I guess those are just lost forever now? Customer support is terrible, no reply to my email which raised these issues with them.

Dear developers, if you read reviews at all, please consider changing your app because at this point having a subscription to a magazine that is not readable is a flat out insult for your subscibers! I like the magazine but the pdf with its low res pictures looks ugly on the ipad, the text view has ginormous letters that are just as ugly as the rest of the experience! I’m constantly kicked out of where I was, have to restore my purchase for every new issue, etc, I cant mention a single good thing about your app. And there is the iphone version: pdf is useless, two page view only when turned horizontally, and in text view the reading area occupies less than half of my iphone x screen! Ridiculous, I’m thinking about asking for a refound and just move on to a different magazine! What a shame waiting so long for the new app!!!

Like most other people have put, this new update is terrible. If you leave the app halfway through the issue and come back, it doesn't save your spot. So you have to find where you were at again. Plus, downloading a new issue is considerably more difficult. The whole swipe down for reader view for a magazine? Come on! Don't even mention the crashes, have to load the app four or five times and then find the issue and spot I was reading. Not planning on renewing now. Bring back the old app!

The new Entertainment Weekly app is the worst. It’s not user-friendly at all. There have been many times where I’ve been reading an article and the app just crashes. Also on the old app when I finished reading a particular article I can close off the app and when I come back to the app later the magazine would be immediately opened to the last article I read. Not with the new app. When I go back to continue reading the magazine the app opens on the cover and I have to scroll through the entire magazine till I find the article that I was up to. Annoying! Please go back to the old way the app was. It was fantastic and very user-friendly. Also...current issues always were available on Thursday at midnight EST but not anymore.

The magazine isn't as good as it used to be, but the app is an abomination. In order to download new issues, I have to log out and log in again, every time. Every new page gives you an annoying floating message to swipe up for text only. You're driving people away with this awful app. Please fix it.

How do you take an app that used to do so much and make it do so much less in twice the time to run? With each update this magazine gets worse and worse. The app takes forever to open, then to open the issue you want, and to get to the articles. Once you open a page it takes a while to come into focus, and even longer for any pictures. If you try to enlarge the pictures they are blurry and out of focus. This will probably be my last year as a subscriber. What a mess!!

I have been using the Entertainment Weekly digital app for years and it has always worked beautifully. Until recently, that is. The newest update is so bad, that it is practically worthless. They’ve added several steps which make it difficult to actually get to the issue, and have taken away the feature that allows you to go back to the issue you were reading. It no longer remembers where you were. So if you, like me, read and then have to put it down for a couple of days, you will have to read through the entire magazine all over again just to find your place. Also for some unknown reason, the app crashes when I get to certain pages. Why is this happening? I am frustrated to the point where I’d like to go back to receiving paper issues, as bad as that sounds. It is that bad. Please fix this!

What happened to all the issues I had previously downloaded? I greatly prefer the old app with mobile-formatted pages. The new one is like a PDF reader. Even worse, the app no longer remembers where the reading location the last time the app was used. It doesn't even remember which issue is being read. It always opens to the cover of the most recent issue. Articles from the web site could have been a useful addition to the wonderful old app, rather than the excuse to abandon all the good features.

This latest update from a couple of weeks ago has been extremely frustrating. I see you were trying to reinstate the flexibility to read in landscape view, which used to work, awhile ago. Currently I have constant crashes, cannot get through reading an entire issue, and sometimes, cannot open the issue at all. I’m a longtime subscriber, but have gotten used to reading online. I will be canceling soon, if this doesn’t get fixed quickly.

Thanks for the ability to use landscape orientation, but everything else about the IPad app is a wreck. Can't access my back issues (not even read yet) or the latest one. Download speed extremely slow, photos don't download clearly. I am a long time subscriber who came to rely on digital version, but this will be my last subscription. And one more thing - the number of useless double issues has gotten ridiculous. Why do we pay extra for your week off from publishing? Hope this can be fixed soon.
