This must be very recent but the phone is too small and causes blurry vision so I purchased an apple hdmi converter only to have net neutrality and corporate greed get in my way. The lightning hdmi adapter has been blocked by direct tv. Pathetic.

This used to work. It is very frustrating that a feature was taken away. It’s even more disappointing when other apps work with the Apple HDMI adapter without any issues.

Tried resubmitting login countless times and get the same error code after resetting password and confirming username. Nothing works.

I would love to know why I have no trouble watching any news channel except Fox News. It never loads and even when it does it freezes and never recovers. And it’s not just once in a while, it’s everyday!!!

Absolutely the WORST customer service. I had called 7 times yesterday and each time they transfer me to somewhere else and then this disconnect me. The guy who was supposed to install our cable didn’t show up nor called us to cancel. We scheduled another appointment, the same thing happens, nobody showed up. I called to ask for an extension on our direct TV app trial until he installs it.. they won’t give me anything. Terrible company

This app is great.... when you can actually get it to work. As soon as I open the app it usually gets stuck on loading, won’t show the TV show I want, or closes out of the app. Not sure what’s happening here.

Ican not watch a show i want to watch. I dont know if i need to download, no indication to do so. Kind of confused.

The app was good once upon a time, but now seems to shut down frequently. Also, many channels require you to be on the same network as your receiver to work (why not just watch it on the TV then?). Additionally, the “watch DVR” function does not show any recent DVR recordings, so is mostly useless. This app was one of the reasons Directv was better than cable, but now I find myself just logging in to individual networks sites (e.g. NBC, ABC, etc.) to watch anything. Please fix this app!

It’s funny how I have all bars with the competitors service signal, and my Netflix works fine my Amazon prime videos work fine but the Direct TV app freezes constantly in the same situations and location. Thinking of doing away with the Directv home service after 20 years, because it appears that foul play and metering are happening to customers that prefer the competition.The app works fine for AT&T customers that I’ve sampled.

Sometimes the app just refuses to load.

I used to be able to watch an entire program before. Even though this app has always been hit or miss on updating what is available from the dvr, it rarely crapped out in the middle of something, now it does it 100% of the time. When I reload 15 or 16 times, whatever I was watching has disappeared or if it shows up, perpetually craps out again. Extremely aggravating! Why bother.

So everytime I click on a TV show to watch directly from the app or to record it. This app keeps closing! It says it's been updated and nothing is wrong with my phone nor my services either! A friend also told me they are as well having the same issue. It's really frustrating if you can't use this app away from home or just on the other side of the house to quickly record and watch something when all it does it close the app immediately! Please fix this cause otherwise this app is boof seriously!

Really upset this function is not available. We travel a lot and not having the option to connect to a tv wherever we are is upsetting.

Spent 2 hours with support and still can’t log into this app even though I can log into my linked Att app. I give up.

Your password reset sends security warning but does not send a temporary password. Fix this NOW!

I have tried on several occasions to log into this app and it tells me some error every time, I have tried for over a year on and off and have not gotten it to work. It either says I have the wrong password which I don’t or is says I have entered an invalid character and I am only entering letters. So annoyed by this.

I’m not sure how this app is rated so highly. I’ve never been able to get it to work consistently. Right now I’m trying to watch live TV on a 30mbps network... nope. Ok so I’ll try and watch off of my DVR... nope. Can I add a show from my DVR... nope. I’ve tried on multiple very high speed networks. I’ve got the latest iPhone with the latest updates with the latest app. It’s just terrible.

After latest update, keep getting error on password having wrong character.

Live games wont load on my phone

I don’t know why this app has so many five-star ratings. Even though it has gotten a little better, it still always freezes or crashes whenever I try to watch a game I recorded. This is one of the reasons I’m dropping DirecTv when my contract ends. There are so many better - and cheaper - ways to watch and record TV nowadays.

August 2017 we moved and got the new genie Right away we had freezing of television shows. They sent out service people nothing worked. It’s been over one year of “software issues “. They have been delayed due to their engineering department not coming up with solutions!! In the meantime we have to stay with them because we are still under contract. It’s been a nightmare. Just got off the call home AGAIN and they continue to be working with the engineering department. But in the meantime they will send another technician out to tell me nothing is wrong with our system it’s the software. Very frustrating because we can’t watch tv. It freezes and then reboots itself. Just a fraudulent company ....

What’s the point. I can’t watch all channels I get at home when I’m away from the tv and receiver. Essentially a useless app. Gee thanks for the remote feature.... yawn.

No casting options, crashes often. I get the “We encountered a problem” error most times I try to watch. I confirm my internet speed via Google internet speed test or Fast.com but even with good speed the video quality is poor or fluctuates. I was watching my local CBS channel, then after 15 min it says “this program has been blacked out”. I have yet to watch an entire program successfully!

I love the service but have yet to have ANY success with this app. Either it won’t let me sign in or it “fails to record” pretty much everything I try to record.

It is so helpful it can help me changing the channel while my real controller is chewed up by my dog

I’ve come to the point where I stopped using this App. It is by far the most problematic App on my phone. My experience has been whatever AT&T takes over, they f* up!

I’ve been a DIRECTV customer for over 20 years and there service use to be really reliable and now it’s crap. I’m not sure what changed but unfortunately I am very disappointed with every thing. It shouldn’t take 10 seconds to turn on the tv and it shouldn’t take another 10 seconds to change the channel but it does now. Beware future customers before you sign up for a 2 YEAR CONTRACT.

As soon as I can, I’ll also cancel DTV. Too many “glitches”. No mirroring for one!! Most Important😖 Every time it rains, no TV___ I have to Set up AppleTV or Netflix or 📀 MOVIE Also many many billing problems, for instance, last wk they tried pushing HBO. I emphatically refused, stating that I hated HBO and never wanted it in my hse , FREE OR NOT!’ Well, I found $17.95 chgd to my acct. here we go again, another wasted 40 mins to fight this. Now It will take too much time, phone or even online, to check to see if my call worked, so I’ll wait till my nx bill. The last 2 mos I spent a total of 2hrs20mins trying to correct their billing mistakes. Can’t wait till November!!!!! Ms R Jenks

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and after the recent update I can no longer log into my account. It gives error saying you’ve entered an invalid character. Please fix this!!!!

Sells you a bill of goods that don’t deliver. Try to watch a RECORDED show on your DVR and watch it tell you it’s “blacked out due to programming content”! What??!! It’s recorded on your DVR!! Constantly freezing and losing connection with your DVR. If I could give it zero stars I would.

I’m trying to sign it. It tells me the info I entered was incorrect and I need to sign in again. When I hit “ok” I’m taken back to the App Store where it tells me to open the app. And round and round and round. Tried deleting the app. Tried deleting the app and turning my phone off. No luck

Does not sync with iPhone even when on the same WiFi home network, and gives 212 error message when trying to register dvr...worthless!

The app keeps kicking me out of the account and making me sign back in and then it says error and invalid character when I try to sign in and it’s the right information to log in but it’s saying invalid character

I used to be able to use this app, but not anymore. I can’t sign-in! Every time I enter my username and password, I get an error message saying “Whoops! It looks like you entered an invalid character.” No, I didn’t! I’ve tried numerous times and keep getting the same error message. I can log-in to the website using the same username and password but those credentials won’t work with this app. I even clicked on ‘Forgot Password’ and created a new password and still keep getting the same error message when I try to sign-in. FIX THE APP!

This app won't even let me log in. After entering my log in info, it takes me to the next screen and then says my username is missing. Terrible. The Android app also constantly stops on my tablet. Who develops these things!

It’s awesome being able to see my shows when in the go.

App will not let me log in and keeps telling me it can't find my I'd and password but yet when I use my credentials for other streaming services thru direct TV it logs in fine, it's really annoying that I can't use the app

When will the bug fix for this pile of garbage come that makes it work with any consistency? Frequent crashes, virtually never able to download anything, but saving settings, taking ages to even load dvr content (and forget about updating content). Just the absolute worst. Plus zero support. I’d give it zero stars if possible. Edit: just as awful months later after all these “bug fixes”. I am on my home network! And when it finally does download things THEY DON’T PLAY. This thing needs a total page 1 rewrite. Worst app on the App Store

I have downloaded and re-downloaded this app multiple times on multiple devices. I have had to reset my password almost every time and it still won’t work. I have re-registered it and restarted all of my devices and it still won’t work. The main selling point for my to switch the directv was the app so that I can watch the news during bad weather and now I’m regretting it. Customer service is at best lousy and it all has me wanting to leave when my contract is up.

Very difficult to navigate.

App is buggy, app screen resolution is really low. What are we in 2004? Update the interface! App is slow and clunky. And the download feature doesn’t even work. Also DVR shows disappear. Please fix...

Can’t watch my recorded show

Sometimes I have a hard time navigating the settings but once I get a program it's clear and I'm able to watch from the beginning or where it is actually live.

I switched to Directv because Dish got rid of some of my favorite channels. I got over it, but once Univision was taken my family and I had to make the switch. I regret leaving Dish. DIRECTV tv app worked fine for about a week. Then once my receivers were installed (that’s another frustrating story) my app stopped working!! Every time I try to log on, the “unknown error” message pops up and sends me to the App Store. Or it’ll say that my account isn’t active.

This app rarely works. It constantly says titles cannot be played and to try again later. It won’t let me access my DVR to download shows even when I am connected to home wi-fi. Episodes frequently stop playing in the middle and won’t resume or reload. The app doesn’t remember where you left off, so any kind of interruption means starting over from the app home screen and hoping what you were watching resumes. Not convenient in the slightest.

Zykeria is so amazing

When I first started using this app it seemed complicated enough. I learned more about it as I went and it worked fine. Started downloading shows to watch on the go and it worked well for the first couple months. Now I can’t down load anything. It is just stuck and super annoying. If it is on my DVR seems kinda s***** to also not allow all the shows to be downloaded. All and all just really annoyed. Also, it would be nice for my stuff to finally start downloading. And by the way! Yes I restarted the Genie!!!!!!

Auto prepare takes days and still doesn’t work. Even with plenty of storage space. Have tried for a week on two devices and no programs were successful yet.

Needs a favorite feature so I can go right to the channel I’m looking for.

Please fix the issue with the IOS 12 update for iPhones, can't watch anything unless it's on TV. You guys need a recon team that has the scoop on updates, so you can keep up. I'm guessing app update won't come until November....... Patiently waiting 😂😂😂

Deserves no stars! Does not play the new episodes. Only appears once on the day it premieres and never again plays, unless it’s on air. Sooooooooo slooooowwwww!!!!!!!!! Does not automatically playback if you get off the app; in order to watch the same show you have click the app and wait til it loads again and then you have to find the show you were just watching. Doesn’t show all the shows your paying for only the popular shows that are recently playing. I shouldn’t have to search for the show, the show should just appear not only whatever shows you think I want to watch. 😒🙄 Get it together direct tv. I have other streaming app and this is by far the worse one!!

You can’t watch recordings... and skip commercials... they just save your shoes you watch but it’s dumb. I miss xfinity

I think there’s a lot that could be improved with the app, the user interface is dated and not terribly intuitive and looks like it was designed by committee, but the main problem far as I’m concerned is that the app never gets past its “initializing” screen 50% of the time

It use to be cool. The app doesn’t sync with box like it should. I’m always having to refresh it and close it out. It stops in the middle of a show. Then I have to start from the beginning of the show all over. Just frustrating with it. No I’m not in WiFi but I can watch Netflix and Hulu just fine...

App not working on iPhone X in iOS 12. Won’t load screen and says unknown error.

This clunky app is just terrible. As a direct customer I cannot rely on this app when trying to catch shows on the go. I’m hearing audio from two different channels. The one that is tuned to automatically and the channel I want to watch. This app is equivalent to trying to use the tv service during the rain....terrible.

Good app but sometimes it’s not responsive.

When I try to log into the app it just says “invalid character” We’ve tried everything and it will not work on my phone. However, it does work on my wife’s.

I love this app and the fact it doesn't use my data, it helps with entertaining my daughter on road trips, and while I am at work. However, the function to download movies have not been available for a while. As I do all the frequent updates, and when you call customer service/ support they are not helpful.

The last 2-3 weeks I’ve has issues with not being able to watch some channels. I’ve reported this issue with Directv without results, other than being told this issue has been reported.

Good luck trying to get technical help fixing this. You’ll be sent to six different people and asked the same s***** questions over and over and you still have the same problem. Not impressed at all.

How on Earth do you cancel the recording with my phone app?? This is misery - I now have 105 episodes of Last Man Standing loaded onto my TV because I can’t figure out how to cancel it!! HELP!! 😫😫

Every so often this app logs me out and once I try to log back in, it says “missing username” and sends me to the apps AppStore page like it wants me to download it or something.....but how can I download an app I’ve already got? It works great when it lets me login. And it will work great for a few days to weeks, but it never fails, one day I will open it and it will have logged me out and then I can’t log back into it. It usually prevents me from logging in for a few days to weeks, but eventually I can delete the app, re-download it and it will let me login again.....but who knows why or how long it will take to be successful. Why this app so dumb? I’ve been watching for the past few weeks with no problem and guess what happened this morning? You guessed it, it logged me out again and I can’t do anything to login......guess I’ll be waiting for a few days to weeks before it decides to let me back in.....smh I did give 2 stars because it does work great when it lets you login.....

This app worked very well years ago. I don’t understand why it has been practically unusable for the last year at least. Not user friendly and extremely glitchy making it almost useless.

This channel has been “experiencing technical difficulties” for the last week maybe two weeks. How come a multi million dollar can’t fix something so simple?

I usually do like to use this app, but they have not updated for XS MAX my app keeps crashing when I login.

I recently upgraded my phone to the IPhone XS Max an now I’m unable to log into the app. I get an error message that says, “Error Missing Username”. I’ve tried several times and no luck.

Direct TV is horrible . I’m laying $100 a month and only 4 channels work because they’re unable to connect to server. The app is just as bad, haven’t been able to sign on for a month “unknown error” keeps popping up. So many errors except for when it’s time for them to get paid

Sometimes it’s too slow and I have difficulty getting into any programs. I have to get Out and in a few times before anything comes up.

I have had DirecTV for several years and have been frustrated from day one of trying to use this app. It has NEVER performed consistently. I understand there are a lot of different devices and wireless services. Just k*** demolish this app if you can not get it right.

Takes forever to download to your phone. We have the the highest speed available from our internet provider 😟

This mobile app doesn’t work. For whatever reason it doesn’t allow you to log in if your directv and internet are combined through AT&T. Customer support is of absolutely no use and their “engineers” have yet to fix this issue. I’d give it less stars if I could because 1 star implies you have the ability to test the product. Useless.

This app is a piece of garbage. It hasn’t worked properly in months and I still can’t get it to work correctly even after updates. AT&T/Directv need to get it together and develop a functioning app.

Every time I try and log in I get a missing username error. I know the log in is correct because I use it to log into the account online. This app is junk. Directv just says to delete the app and try downloading again...great solution if that actually fixed the problem. I see online that I’m not the only one experiencing this problem. At what point do you maybe take a look at the app and try and fix it on the directv side??

Takes to long to come available

I can’t login to this app even though I can login to the website just fine. I just spent 2 hours chatting and talking to probably 8 different people while getting bounced around back to level 1 support twice. FYI - Direct TV is incapable of providing support for this app.

Ever since att took over Direct tv has gone to HELL service is terrible I can’t wait for my contract to run out.

It’s a good app

This app almost never works. It constantly signs me out even when I stay signed in. Now it refuses to accept my password that I’ve had for almost a year, saying it uses an “invalid character.” This app just is the worst.

Can it login now. Says invalid username after entering info. Forced to use the web browser with same info. Lame.

So many problems it’s amazing this made it to the App Store. Live streaming never works correctly, getting error messages like network connection lost, even though my internet works fine for other apps. I also get many other error messages while trying to stream. I’m forced to use the NBC app, which is sadly more reliable with extra commercials. Thanks AT&T.

Swiping between live tv and dvr feels unresponsive. Other than that, it works great for me

This app is full of bugs. I log in it say missing user id. I press OK App Store launches to open DirecTV app. In which I click on OPEN and send me back to the app. I log in and it says missing ID. I press OK and App Store launches I click on OPEN and send me back to DirecTV app. I log in ... — I ask you developers of this inferior product. Do you think we customer love infinite loops like this? It says how dumb and how careless and shows how much you developer of DirecTV don’t care about this app. So many bugs yet you all never chose to fix it. It show how much you all don’t use the use your own app.

I loved being able to use my smart phone as a remote for the satellite box and because I’m visually impaired it is easier to read the guide on my phone too. However at the last software update it kicked me out of the app in my phone and will not allow me to sign back in. I double checked both my log in and my password and they are correct but it keeps telling me error missing user name. Very frustrating.

If you need to hook up an HDMI cable forget it. This app will not support the connection of an HDMI cable via apple HDMI lightning adapter. Which is total BS.

This App does not provide all the channels that you are subscribed too. So your guide will not give you all the channels on your IPad or IPhone that you have on your home TV.

Launches with unknown error after updating to iOS 12

I’m paying a lot for the service and am not getting much in service. First I cannot and have been able to log on to the app. My log in credentials don’t work. I keep getting an Error message. I’ve talked to their tech support over a week ago and nothing is happening. Also, ever since ATT took over, I’ve been having troubles with my ATT Directv saying I don’t have enough download bandwidth even though I have 100Mb Cox download speed. What, do I have to get rid of Cox and get ATT internet service for this to work. CAN WE ALL SAY.....MONOPOLY?

Trash app considering you can’t even cast anything. Can’t use a lightning to HDMI cable to display either. Get with the 21st century. Every other app I use for a channel or station allows you to connect to a smart TV or Chromecast. Wish I could rate this a 1/4 star.

Just updated my iPhone to IOS 12 . Now the app doesn’t recognize my login. This app is worthless. Why can't this App just work. It starts off working then it just looses its connection. It tells me that I'm not connected to my wifi network when I'm sitting right next to my wifi. The picture will freeze but the audio will still play. Where is the guide and why don't you have the multi task feature? Where we can shrink the screen and open other apps in the background. Why can’t the app go back to where I left off after I hang up a phone call. Why do I have to keep telling the app that I want to watch a show on my iPhone after I already clicked watch on iPhone.This app needs a lot of work

I was at the ATT STORE... I HAD NO PHONE SERVICE CONTRACT ... one of the agents offered me unlimited gigs IN MY PLAN, with the same price package I had, only with the condition to have the agreement for two years of the direct tv... then the bills starting increasing... I went to the store about for 10 times and the same agent blamed to the ATT system, due to this type of informality, I decide to cancel the direct tv... ATT agent was a liar... he didn’t accomplish what he promise... the loyalty department didn’t work either...the at&t store mentioned is: ATT STORE AT Monroe, NC .

I was camping this summer and when I needed a recap on the news my app always had a channel with the news available. Movies and free HBO too. Thank You ATT

It worked for me for 24 hours and says unknown error. That’s really awesome I’m so happy it doesn’t work. I really didn’t want to watch my new service anyway till my receivers got here in the next couple of weeks cause I’m a glutton for punishment and like to get walked on by these type of companies like AT&T and Directv it’s not the first time I’ve gotten the shaft by them both and I’m sure it’s not the last might as well keep this wonderful tradition going. Thanks again for keeping it going!! Yay!!!!! For me!!! Peace out!! Oh I might add that even though it’s useless to use the app it looks pretty on my phone so that’s kind of a bonus I guess? At least I get something out of it, cool!! Thanks again and God bless!! Oh and also if I may say if your reading this and you’ve bundled like me it’s probably too late for you and you’ve done the two year contract and been luckily duped like me congrats for falling for another marketing scam from them like me to try to let you think your saving money and not only you have the service with the receivers at home if you want to watch it in your phone you will have to pay for the Direct Now service $35.00 a month starting at the lowest rate and amount of channels so if you travel a lot it’s not so good but if not you can just watch it at home and just erase this wonderful useless app off of your phone and don’t let some sales rep try to con you into basically paying for the service twice just to be able to watch it on your phone!! Awesome isn’t it I’m just overwhelmed with joy to be able to share this wonderful experience of mine to you hope your just as lucky as me cheers and Ciao!!

Trying to stream from the app and it gives me error (no matter what I watch) that I can’t watch at this time and to try again later. If there was zero stars I would give it that. Please fix the app.

Always have issues watching live tv on my phone. Have to constantly reload the app.

I have many complaints about this app... - Sometimes when I open the app, it automatically starts playing a program on the channel that I was last watching. The bad part is that when I find a show that I want to watch, it still plays the other show in the background. - Sometimes when I open the app, it says I must be connected to the same network I want to watch. What’s the point of “Taking it with you?” - Sometimes when I open the app, it says I do not have access to that channel. Huh? - Sometimes when I open the app, it says, “ERROR. We’re sorry, this program has expired and is no longer available.” - Sometimes when I open the app, it wants to know my location. What’s up with that? I know the app is free, but using it is included with the exorbitant amount I pay for DirecTV every month. This should work!

Desperately hoping DTV reads this! Trying to call them is useless. Took a week to finally my new account connected. NEVER received access code for the gift card promised, can you say “false advertisement”? Put through many levels of calls (and much time) over that, everyone blaming and referring me to some other department, finally accepted it wasn’t happening. NEVER got the free Showtime, STARZ, Cinemax channels for trial time. BUT, when time ran out, sure showed up on my bill with no problem. After finally getting them to understand that I never had it, wasn’t cancelling it, they started charging me for HBO that was free with my ATT. Spent much more time on phone trying to rectify that problem. I’m writing this at this moment because lately my CORRECT ID and password keep getting denied by the DTV app. I originally had the same username and password for both ATT and DTV, and all was fine. This evening, when I decided to just reset with the code they send me, it goes to ATT site, which then says it will connect me to DTV, and then it STILL won’t accept the code, if it fleetingly shows my account homepage (weird, but it has), it says there is nothing in my playlist and then asks again for me to login and won’t accept. RIDICULOUS.

I will having directv on the go, the I have is it keeps on stopping and having technical difficulties and will not play continuously, which drive me crazy. So as soon as I can terminate this contract and get out without penalties I’ll, because it has never worked as advertised!

Please fix this so it will stop crashing and telling me that the program is expired. It plays for roughly 2 minuets and crashes. I’ve deleted, re downloaded, re signed in everything it still will not work. It’s awful.

Never know which channels I'll be able to watch on the app. Was watching NBC, turned off app for a couple minutes and was not able to watch anymore. There should be a list of which shows you can watch out off your home

The best TV app is DIRECTV

Update broke the app. Keeps making me login and then says there was an error connecting to the server. App is pretty terrible in general but at least it used to work. You should try testing your software before releasing it to the public.

Constantly hangs during initializing. Crashes often. This app used to work. Over the last year or so it’s gone constantly downhill. Now it’s pretty much unusable.

This app is trash. It will either not load, not recognize the sign on or stop working. I never had this problem with DISH.

I’m finding that this app has become quite unstable with all the updates. Constant messages saying a program has expired right in the middle of watching it. There is no longer a feature to get the channels from home along with local channels if you’re traveling. The app has become just as bad as the company since AT&T took over.

I don’t understand why you couldn’t make it more basic... all the s***** extra things makes it crash or run poorly... why is there a button that rotates between live and DVR?!? Full bars of LTE and the app rarely load the pages and or will play the selected tv channel. All I get is error messages even if I restart my phone and the app, noting seems to fix it.

Channels fail to load when I click on it. It says channel is unavailable or has expired.

It never works when you want it to. It always disappoints. You can’t “watch your TV anywhere” or “take your tv with you” because it doesn’t work

...those “splash ads” that load first ruin the app. Every time. It takes about 3 to 10 app launches or complete phone reboot to get the app to even load!! Horrible! You sacrificed your product for an ad space? Congratulations. This is an ongoing issue ever since those ads started during the app load/open process. Remove it.

It has taken them over month and a half to install my tv (still hasn’t come and says they’re out of equipment). So now they’ve disabled the app, and on top of that they’ve disabled tv mirroring. How cheap can you get?

Ever review I see is 1-2 stars, how does this app get 4.7 stars? Rigged? I have some 50 recorded items on my DVR, but only 4 show on phone and only 2 are downloadable. What a joke!!!!! Don't waste your time.

This app is excellent, with one exception: The remote control takes several minutes to connect. Making it frustrating to use and it will do something unexpected when attempting to use 30sec advance, often it will switch to playlist or open the guide randomly.

What’s the point. I can’t watch all channels I get at home when I’m away from the tv and receiver. Essentially a useless app. Gee thanks for the remote feature.... yawn.

Signed up for one price, added a few more channels for an agreed upon up-charge. Somehow the bill was miraculously double the agreed upon charge. It had been a year of monthly hours long calls and disconnected service because they 1) can not charge us what they KNOW is the correct amount 2) can’t figure out how to send a bill to the right email( checked multiple times, they have the correct email but somehow can’t send send the bill) . Bundled with AT&T so that is a constant shuffling back and forth as to who it to blame. The latest is , almost since we started with Direct TV is has taken multiple tries to get a signal when we turn on TV. They claimed it was the tv not their equipment, tv company says “nope” and Direct TV finally admitted it is the receiver but if we want a working receiver we have to pay $75 for a technician to bring it out or $20 to pay for shipping. NO OTHER OPTIONS! So now we get to, need to try 50 clicks every time we try to turn on the TV, or reset it multiple times at the receiver or leave the tv on day and night. Yep, as soon as we can, DIRECT TV is gone. Unfortunately we have limited options in our area.

I hate this directv app! When you record shows to your dvr you can’t watch them on your devices unless you download them onto your device. The download can take forever!!! You can usually watch your shows on demand but you can’t fast forward commercials.

I love the programs that do not have commercials but the ones I that do have commercials they are scheduled every five minutes. When the commercials are on I will look at my iPad. Hate the commercials especially every 5 minutes. Come on that is ridiculous.

This is the worst app I have ever encountered. I have received an error message more times than I’ve been able to stream. I have tried every solution from websites dedicated to fixing these problems and still can’t use the app for any of its intended purposes. Extremely disappointed. When I called Directv to receive an answer, all I was told was the software engineers were ‘aware of the problems’ and ‘working on it’. I have received this answer multiple times. I love Directv services and every other feature, but be prepared to be disappointed with the app. It never works.

It used to take 1 min to load on iPhone 7 Plus, now it takes 2-3min and stutters like crazy even when I’m on my 500Mbit internet at home. I’m almost tempted two switch services and use the others that stream and work nearly as good as this app used to at one time. Past two months however, garbage... Sad...

My direct tv app is not working on my smartphone

Geez, I’m not sure this app works at all. It just sits at loading, I refresh, reboot, nothing. I can’t delete shows from my DVR. I’m better off using the actual remote however slow it is. And you want to control your set top box, good luck! I’m in the Home WiFi and it never finds it, ever! Don’t bother.

I have AT&T 1G fiber and, since the last update the app keeps hanging and freezing live TV. Fails on iPad, MacBook and iPhone. Overall the app is too bulky.

I have fiber in the home, and a strong WiFi connection. I can’t reliably stream ANY channels on my phone without it buffering or just stopping. I ran many speed tests in the same locations to be sure, and they’re solid. The app navigation is not intuitive. I was better off with Uverse, and at this point I want out of my contract so I can go with another provider. Streaming is a basic service now, and these cats can’t get it right.

I absolutely hate everything about the direct tv app. It never updates and ALWAYS gives me problems. The main reason I got direct tv was to have to ability to use the app to watch my programs. HATE HATE HATE and can’t wait till our contract is up!

I download stuff to my queue for flights and I’d say 50% of the time the stuff is gone when I access the app in the plane. Luckily Netflix and Amazon Prime have their c*** together. This app is bad.

DTV lied in so many ways to get me to sign up: 1. Said did not have to have Genie in all extra room; that Roku would work. Lie 2. Said a Smart TV would work; just download APP.Lie 3. Said my package would get Destination Americas. Lie 4. Said could watch from my devices. Lie Will not work on phone; DVR part not working on Ipad. Their “help” is outsourced; said they would upgrade a tech ticket and call back. Over a month; no call. Have called about 20x; on hold, transferred; given wrong information. Hours down the drain... Gotta say Dish is no better. 😫

The tv receiver will not stay connected to the internet. Which renders this app useless. Have made numerous call to Direct TV and the problem persist.

We’ve been ATT/Direct TV customers since 1998; we’ve never been able to get this app to work. I called customer service 5 times today and no one could help or make it work. (Never been able to log in). We are done with both companies

I have had Direct TV since Sept. 2016, I just moved in May 2018 and I moved my service with me. I called yesterday to see when my 2yr. Contract was up and I was told May 2020. I was confused about this so I ask how is that when I got this contract I'm September 2016. She stated when I moved my service and got the wireless mini genes instead of the mini genes I had they put me into a new contract. First of all I was not notified about when I changed to wireless mini genes that this would happen. The installation tech is the one who suggested that I get the wireless mini genes. I told the Supervisor of retention that I was not told this and he said that they sent me and email regarding this. We then confirm my email address and that was an email address I set up for only At&t. I no longer have that email address. I ask did Direct TV send me something in the mail and he said "No they sent it by email and not by USPS mail. I ask to disconnect my service and he told me I will get charged for early termination. Now I'm s****** with this bill or if I disconnect the Early termination. I will take my chances and I disconnect my service. I will not let this rest. They are very dishonest.

Just came back from a camping trip. I had access to anything I wanted to watch on my iPad or iPhone through my Direct TV app. Kept in touch with conditions in The Carolinas, where I have loved ones. Great option. The Woods were wild and great too. Great option.

2 weeks in a row I can’t watch my NFL content from my phone. It says it’s already in use. Whatever. Now I know why they gave NFL Sunday ticket for free. It doesn’t work!

So far any event I’ve wanted to watch is unavailable unless I’m on the same network as my home box. Defeats the purpose. I was told hey never miss a game bc of streaming...well bought Sunday ticket made sure I can stream and found out I can’t utilize it unless I’m home. I had dish network and could stream anything and everything I was subscribed to anytime every time. Very overrated feature that makes me regret switching.

The app never works as it should. Consistent error messages and connectivity issues. Sometimes shows are available for download from your DVR and sometimes not. I got a message that a download wasn’t available to be deleted now, try again later. What a joke.

One thing that could be improved would be the ability to stream all channels through the app. I’m on the road a lot and find that I can only stream directv selected content as opposed to live streaming, or on demand streaming, the same content that I can on my home receiver.

Love the app and dIRECTV but the thing is it skips all the time and if it’s no trouble if we can have a update where that never happens so I can enjoy the app

I never know when this app is going to work. Some times it works great like it’s supposed to but most of the time it either doesn’t load or I get some error message saying I’m streaming somewhere else or unable to stream for some s***** reason. It’s not my internet connection because every other streaming service works fine even Netflix and Amazon prime video.

App always has unknown issue

I really use the app a lot. It just does not always work well. It will pause for long periods when live streaming. Then when it starts up again often the show your watching will be on the screen and you can also hear the previous commercial in the back ground. When I want to watch a show recorded on my DVR half the time it will not come up. So like I said if it worked properly most of the time it would be great.

The app seems very confusing to me and when using it on tablet it looks like they just cropped everything to fit a tablets screen size. On top of that once I finally find my recording and wait 10mins for it to load the quality isn’t even HD, which makes it incredibly hard to watch sporting events. And when trying to fast forward through commercials the 30sec skip takes 30sec to load. I don’t hate the app but it definitely needs reworking.

How can Netflix, Hulu and so many other streaming services create hassle free apps and DirecTV constantly fails to load and is a frustrating experience. Be prepared to constantly restart app and continually stop and start programs to get 5 minutes of continuous viewing. I’ve stayed with this app since inception and it’s failed to perform at even 10% the stability of Netflix or Hulu. You are better off loading individual channel apps and using your DirecTV login to watch them.

Freezes during live streaming and lose connection

I’m not really sure what bugs there were before 9/14/2018 with the app but when I did the update yesterday the app is now working poorly. Before the update I was able to watch everything fine: no glitches, movies not freezing, no loading issues. Now after the update I can hardly get something to load and then it only plays for like 2 min before freezing and saying it can’t play the content. So I switch devices, iPad, and attempt to watch there with the same issue. Turn on cellular for both devices and try again. Same issue. Turn on the hot spot for the iPad. Same issue. Turn off both devices for 1 min then turn back on and attempt again. This time movie loads...for 2 min then freezes. Each time I’m having to completely shut down the app in order to exit the screen of what I’m trying to play. This is very frustrating as this is the only time I’ve ran into any issues with the app.

It never lets me log in. The app always tells me my credentials are wrong and i know my username and password aren’t wrong. I’ve called to help with this problem and it still hasn’t been resolved. It used to work fine then i got a new phone and it’s never worked ever again.

Every time they fix the app, it gets worse. It used to find my DVR, and I could watch my shows upstairs in bed. Now, even when I plug in the IP address, it can’t find my DVR. Today, I was live streaming a show on TBS which is a public station. After each commercial, an error message would come on telling me it was not available for DIRECT streaming and I could go watch it on my TV. And yet I’ve been watching this channel for the last two hours. I would close the app and reopen it and voila it works and I could finish watching my show. Quit fixing what ain’t broke!

What’s the point of having your dvr on the app when you can’t watch anything while your away from home. I work off shore so I’m gone from home for weeks at a time, the shows i record I’d like to watch while I’m away. But it says I must be connected to the same server as my receiver. Ummm if that’s the case I’d be home on my WiFi and have no need for the app. This is app is total garbage and as soon as my 2 yrs are up in a few months I will be leaving.

Can’t get the App to recognize my Directv ATT ID. Been trying for the last couple years. Contract is done now. Might be switching back.

I’m frustrated with this app and with ATT coverage. When I’m somewhere with a strong enough signal to actually use the app, playback is often jerky and will start and stop or freeze up completely. Today I have a good signal but the football game I was watching (from our DVR) froze up and now I’m either getting an error that says the “URL is not found on this server” (on my iPhone) or its crashing the app (on my iPad). I’m so sick of this app not functioning properly and am ready to find something else. I’m on the road a lot and when it works it’s great, video quality is outstanding, but more often than not it does not function.

Constantly fails. I’m almost embarrassed to say my father worked for AT&T for 37 years. That is to say, this is not my fathers AT&T, or my grandfathers, who also worked there. I love this app when it works. But a lot of the times it says it is “not connecting with the receiver” so I can’t load anything from my playlist to watch. I’ve tried everything that is mentioned to try on the blogs with no success. Ready to go back to Dish since this app is one of the reasons we switched!!

I’m trying to watch my recorded shows on my phone since I can’t watch it on a computer which makes way more sense since I has a way bigger screen. I can’t get my newly recorded shows from dvr box to play on my phone. Do I really have to wait 24 hours so I can watch it? That’s messed up if I have to, you guys need to fix both issues. One so I can watch a bigger screen and two let be able to watch my newly recorded shows from my dvr box. Thanks

Terrible!! Before some updates I was able to connect the app to my TV by the HDMI connector, now you disabled this option because you don’t like everyone happy, thanks, stop messing it up more 🙄, ahh by the way, 2018 and you still don’t have Chromecast support, more than stupid. 🖕🏻

So I downloaded the app and put in my username and passcode. So once I did, it kept on loading and go back to the direct tv screen over and over again please fix this bug. Either it needs internet to make it work then it defeats the purpose of watching it on the go.

I love the app. I’m trying to watch hurricane coverage. Every channel works. Every channel. CNN. Weather channel. Etc. But Fox News channel 360 does not. It cuts out after 30 seconds. This happens with this channel all the time and only this channel. Why? Do they have a lower band width or broadcast strength or is this politics funny business? I would really like it fixed

I have been a directv customer now for over a year and I have it a chance. I don't mind the service at home if I am watching it live but the on demand and app is horrible. I was a Comcast customer prior and they are years and years ahead of the game for on demand and mobile access to shows. For DirecTV to be now owned by a mobile company I figured this app might get an update to finally make it worth it..... But I have only been left with the same 90s type app that works like my Nintendo cube did when I was a kid. I hope they can get it figured out before my contract is up.

I love the app but a few things drive me crazy when watching a series. If in a bad area and you have to go back to the episode, it sometimes starts from the beginning even though I pushed resume. Also, again when watching a series, it doesn't always pull up your recently watched. So you have to pull up the show and try and remember which episode you were on. And we pay for DIRECTV and when we record something at home we can fast forward through the commercials. We should also be able to do it on the app.. just my two cents worth.

Recently came back as a customer. You cannot register the app on the iPhone or Tablet. After finding the receiver, constant errors on registration. Called tech support, says they’ve been aware of problems for months. App also freezes during play.

Pros: •You can watch videos on your phone. •You can watch some programs on from your DVR Cons: •The layout is confusing •Video selections disappear from the playlist •Some shows from your DVR are only available to view as a video on demand on your phone. •Videos on demand usually can’t FF thru commercials. Overall, yes you can watch your DVR, but they make you watch commercials to do so. The app is confusing to use and sometimes I’ll start a show (especially with CBS shows) then come back later and the show isn’t available. Could do better by just going to the network site of the show you want to watch.

I continue to have problems with app. Downloads with audio only. Downloads that exist when you leave the house but will not work 2 days later when you to watch them.

Hdmi mirroring still not supported!! This app is junk!

No choices for streaming on iPhone app. It worked then it didn’t. Been Over a month and several phone calls and still unable to register my iPhone 5s to the dvr. Also, still only one channel show on live streaming. No one seems to know or admit that they don’t know how to fix this problem. The app can’t find dvr even though dvr shows it’s connected to the same WiFi as my iPhone. So as far as I’m concerned this app is garbage.

When a show is over it should be over on time when you are recording a live event !! We shouldn’t have to wait for an event to be over to watch are recorded show and I dislike how we have to wait for a dumb event to be over so we can watch a new event and this is why I a rate the app ! Thank you

Not sure what update was done to the app. I’ve been signing in and using the app everyday for months. All of a sudden I am unable to sign in. When I do I receive the message “oops look like I used an invalid character”. My password is the same I sign in online with and no problems. It’s only letters and a number. Please help. Thank you.

Any app that intentionally cripples my phone’s functionality automatically gets one star. What’s the point in disabling screen mirroring? I already pay DirecTV for their programming what difference does it make if I watch it on my phone or my TV?

In the app, the Fox News channel consistently stops and seems to be a bandwidth issue. Go to CNN or CNBC, the issue goes away. I cannot consistently watch the Fox News channel without interruption. Is this purposeful?? Seems like selective filtering to me.

I have never been so frustrated with an app. I would be happier if I never saw this app. I used to use the DirecTv Genie app to download programs from my DVR to my iPad to watch on planes. Since this app took over that ability I am no longer able to download.

Even with 3 or 4 data bars on iPhone, too often app does not open a channel, especially Fox News (almost always) - Channel 360? No problem with CNN or MSNBC, etc. Has to be a deliberate act if censorship. Anyone else experiencing this I would recommend filing a complaint with the FCC as this is broadcasted content over the airwaves and falls with FCC jurisdiction. We are on to you ATT! UPDATE (months after above) - Still same issue. Censoring Fox News. All else works. How convenient. I am cancelling my huge Directv account and going to Fios. This app is a lie and ATT needs to be held accountable. Better complaint is to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

I travel a lot so it’s great to stream Direct TV and run it thru a lighting to my TV from the IPad BUT Not anymore! All I get is No HDMI Support. Tech for Direct said it was my IPad. Wrong, all other apps work fine. Please fix this soon Direct TV. Dish has a program ‘Dish on the go’ that I am considering. I like Direct but I may have to cancel for Dish

Update after update after update each claiming “bug fixes and stability improvements” and it still has the same glitches it always has. Audio simply won’t play on many movies, list of “my channels” sometimes only shows like 5 channels, freezes often during movies.

Live tv works fine but good luck watching anything on your DVR. Half the time it won’t connect, when it does connect your shows aren’t showing up. When your shows show up it won’t let you download them (meaning you can’t skip commercials or watch seamlessly). I’ve tried removing the app and downloading again. Nothing. I’ve tried turning my phone off. Nothing. I’ve tried both, nothing. I sit in front of my DVR while I’m watching TV on the actual TV and it says it can’t connect to my DVR because there’s no internet connection. Well then how am I watching TV?? 😡 I hate DirectTV!

This App is a terrible piece of work. I suspect the infrastructure needed to tie it all together is severely lacking. Frame freeze ups and audio drop out while on Cellular as well as Wireless connections point toward amateur hour implementation. iPad, SE, 6 and X all see the same performance. This is NOT a device issue, this is an investment issue. The service has degraded severely over time and seems completely over sold. This is BS Tech at its best. Get your **** together AT&T!!!

Moved from perfectly good U verse service to Directv last month. Mobile app does not function. A tech support ticket has been created with no resolution for 4 weeks. Do not buy DirecTV. It is a mess!!!!

Just spent 3 hours on phone with tech support trying to determine why my app wouldn’t register my DVR. Was told it was a glitch in the app. But nobody but me is having the issue. Was told it was my internet but all my connected devices work. Was also told that you cannot stream DVR recordings, only download them if you are on the same network as the DVR. This app used to work - I watched recorded programs while out of town 2 years ago, but that was before AT&T got involved. If you read the above description, it states that you can stream OR record from your DVR, yet tech support states you can only download. Techs are not really techs, they only read through a troubleshooting guide.

Don’t get why fast forward is not a option for service we pay for DUMB

I want to stream FOX news but it constantly stops playing while buffering. Either too many viewers log on simultaneously or DirectTV throttles down FOX. Please fix this in South FL and you will earn 5 Stars. Thanks (ATT/Direct TV customer)

Since the last update, whenever I’m nit home I am unable to watch anything, it just keeps spinning... nit pleased. Every time there’s an update it gives less access away from home. I don’t understand why.

This just never works. Shows on my DVR I want to watch are not listed. What you can watch is choppy. Non-dvr shows don’t even load.

It’s great that I can watch actual tv on my phone, but the problem with this app is that it’s waaaay too glitchy... it frequently crashes and has connection problems, and if I watch something on my phone and then try to watch it on the tv, It starts me over and I have to fast forward to find my part in the show/movie. The app needs to be fixed, to be more user friendly the way Netflix and Hulu are designed. Thank you, I hope that something changes.

I have DIRECTV and I also have AT&T cellular. I appreciate the free data however I don’t appreciate every four minutes there is a two-minute commercial unless I’m watching live TV or a previously recorded DVR. If the date it was not free I will delete this app and not recommend it to anyone. Being in mobile app I’m sure as I am most other people also are cramming in time to watch a show when I have some free time. Now I cram in commercials when I have free time. Try to download a video. “Sorry, there has been an error.” Try to schedule a recording. “Sorry, there has been an error.” Try to watch a recording. “Sorry there has been an unknown error.” Try to watch live tv. “Sorry there has been a critical error.” So often my receiver cannot be found. Even when in the same session, I will lose connectivity to the receiver. The app will lose track that I am on my home network as well, during the session. Killing the app usually resolves this. The feature set of the app SHOULD be pretty d*** good but the app is buggy and half baked.

It takes 5 times as long on Direct Tv to download a show than it does on Amazon Prime or Netflix. While watching shows, if app cuts off or pauses, you have to start show all the way over and can’t fast forward through the SAME commercials you JUST watched. Terrible.

App never automatically loads my favorite app which is Fox new channel 360. Always going to the liberal media. This I know you guys control because several of my friends tell me the same thing. I want to give it more stars, but I cannot. Most of the time the channels do not load properly or the lag is horrible. When it does work it’s great, but it works only 80% of the time. Disappointing for someone that has been a DirecTV customer since 2005.

I agree with just about every 1 star review. Worst app ever!!!! And whoever thought that Direct TV would get better after AT&T bought them, I could’ve told you you’re dreaming! AT&T makes it worse! The newest update doesn’t synchronize with IPhone so an account that you’ve used for years suddenly shows up as non existent with an error message saying your username and password is not recognized. 🙄🙄🙄😡

For the past week ever since my account was, as directv customer service describes as a “successful migration”, to AT&T, i have not been able to access my account via mobile device. Keep getting oops something went wrong try again later. Well a week later and 2 calls for an hour a piece with AT & T customer service and I still cannot access my Mobile device services which is why I pay the exhorbitant price of directv in the first place as I travel several nights weekly for work. Well enough, last night switched to Hulu for $55 a month which allows mobile access for up to 5 devices and lots of channels in their live tv program. Bye bye directv... after 14 years, AT & T finally completed my successful migration to another provider.

About 9/10 times, the initializing wheel spins unto eternity. Good news for Amazon and podcasters, though. Those work every time.

I’m so confused by this app. It advertises “Its your tv. Take it with you.” However it’s almost impossible to use if you are not inside your house directly connected to your directv receiver. I have tried on so many occasions to watch my dvr when I’m out of town. It may work for a few minutes, but it quickly stops and states it “Can’t connect to dvr”. Last night I was able to watch 5 minutes of one episode. I had to hit pause and when I returned, suddenly my dvr couldn’t be found and it said I had to purchase the same episode before watching again. When I contacted customer support, they asked if I was home which I thought was a s***** question because why would I need the app if I’m home. Thats what I have TVs for. When I said no, he informed me that this is a common issue. He could fix the problem but it would take 24 hrs. Here I am 24 hours later, I was able to finish the episode I started yesterday but now it “cant connect to dvr” again. This is unbelievably frustrating! Do I have to wait another 24 hours before I can watch another episode?!? Apparently you can only “take it with you” to different rooms of your home. Completely useless!!

This Ap only work half of the time. Usually it won’t go past the “initializing” step. I have deleted and reinstalled, still no luck.

iPhone X. Why does my DVR play list not show up on the “watch your DVR” part of the APP? It’s like old titles show up that have been deleted weeks even months ago. No complaints otherwise. Just annoying as hell. Fix please.

Slow to load, sometimes closes for no apparent reason in the middle of a show. But in the end, it's functional and convenient.

I travel a lot, so I thought this would be great when I'm on the road. It doesn’t work. I open the app and some channel starts playing(one that I have no interest in watching). While that’s playing I look for my channel. I watch baseball on channel 676. You can’t just select 676. You have to scroll thru 675 other channels to get to it. Sometimes it’s there other times it’s not. Other times it says “can’t find your receiver”. Doesn’t help you find your receiver. So, when I get home I try it and it usually works although last night it wouldn’t let me watch it on my iPad but would on my tv. I’m at home-I know I can watch it on tv! The app is not user friendly so maybe I’m just not doing it right but I’m doing my best and it doesn’t work for me.

Does not recognize my login ID. Old ID locked due to too many attempts. When will this be fixed? Uverse Tv, Time Warner and Dirrctv...how many tv services does it take to change a monopoly?

iPhone X on latest iOS. I am unable to watch anything with this app whenever I try to watch something I get a error saying unable to watch please try again later. The app used to work, before the last 2 or 3 updates.

This app is garbage. When it chooses to log in and work you will have constant issues. It does not resume well at all! The security is so ridiculous that paying customers can not access content. App also crashes often on iPhone X. On the plus side you get to watch the exact same commercial splash screen again and again! Gotta love the same commercial over and over for a month or so.

Been a customer for 15 years. All online access has stopped working. And customer service says oh well this is happening cause your accounts old and we are merging with att. So now I can’t use it for a month and no recourse given???

App freezes up when watching

I waited and waited and waited for the update to see if they would fix the “glitch” that says “hdmi output not supported” BUT NOPE! I still can’t connect my phone to my TV to watch stuff with the so called “take anywhere” app... even after the update. I was specially told this was a glitch and after months of no update, they finally do one and don’t fix this issue that SOOOO many reviews include along with a one star review. Unacceptable. I’m done with Direct TV.

I can only watch my local channels while at home and even they may or may not come in depending on how the app is feeling.

It’s my tv but I can not take it with me as their ad suggests. Only a few of recorded shows come up of course not the ones I want

I absolutely hate everything about the direct tv app. It never updates and ALWAYS gives me problems. The main reason I got direct tv was to have to ability to use the app to watch my programs. HATE HATE HATE and can’t wait till our contract is up!

Not working all the time trying to figure out who to call

Since AT&T acquired DirecTV the quality of everything coming out of the tech team has plummeted in quality. Recordings configured through the app fail most of the time if the Record button is even enabled in the first place. Data download is horribly inefficient. Have to watch a spinning progress indicator for minutes when on the go. Progressive downloads anyone?

This should NOT be so complicated to operate!!

DirecTV app is so unreliable it should be banned from app store until it works as well as Netflix or Amazon Prime

The app worked great then within the last week I am unable to sign in. It then opens the send me to the download the U-verse app. I don’t have U-verse for tv. I have it for internet. Please fix the app. I try to log in and I get an invalid character.

This is by far the best deal that i have ever had in cable. They have offered me and my family great deals with cable, internet, and cell phones. So much cheaper than i was paying at Verizon!! Thank you direct tv!

The only thing this app is good for is paying your bill and setting recording when you’re not home. I don’t like it because i was told that I could watch my programs on my phone while I’m away! You CAN NOT!

I would like to have a “my list” feature up at the top .. I will start watching a show & have to pause it & when I get back on the app it’s not on my recently played history, I have to search for the show to find what I was watching & which episode I was on. It also does not automatically show me when the next episode of a season is available. Just is not user friendly 👎🏻

Most times I can’t open the app because it’s in a constant state of “initializing”, this is annoying. Defeats the purpose of watching on the go, or setting DVR. Please update.

Currently recovering from illness and I’m able to remain in bed while catching up on missed shows and live stream real time entertainment. This is a must have🙂

Our problems are buffering and no sound. Frozen screens and errors during DVR recordings. But other than that the programming is good.

I really love the option to watch live programming. It seems to work well. I gave this app 2 stars because two major features are broken. 1. When I try to schedule a recording, I see a message saying confirmation fail. Conflicts are not available, why arent they? . When I try to delete recordings from my DVR, it says cannot delete. Why can’t it?

Trying to record a baseball game from my ‘MLB Extra innings’ subscription: I dial up the channel and time and the time and channel keeps changing. When you go back to record another game, say for the next day, the time and channel reverts back to the present time and you have to start all over again and then it ‘jumps’ all over the place (time and channel). Very ‘herky jerky.’

Thankfully I haven’t used this app for a while as I’ve been on Netflix and Hulu. Unfortunately today I did and guess what? This app is still complete and utter garbage! Let’s see; loading channels loading channels loading channels- for 10 minutes. Then EVERY channel, content cannot be played at this time. - why not?! Then if by some miracle you’re lucky enough to actually view content either the app freezes or the sound goes out. Useless! Oh and don’t believe their ratings, just look at the 100’s of bad reviews!

As others have said, after the most recent update I’m unable to sign in to the DIRECTV app. “Unknown Error”. Ugh!

Okay this would be a great app if it worked consistently. I hate to say it but it’s terrible. It always has been. As expensive as the TV service is you would expect great quality from this app. The app often spools when you try to open it. Whenever you pause a show for more than a minute it kicks you back to the home page. AT&T needs to take this app back to the drawing board.

Takes many minutes to load and gets stuck on loading content. Most functionality does not work properly or at all.

This app is really disappointing. I constantly have to close it out and reload because it crashes when I try to get the guide for live tv. Sometimes the search bar doesn’t work and it’s impossible to get the same programming from tv to app. Wish I could watch the shows that I set to record. Just another reason to watch Netflix instead.

Search functionality is incoherent at best. Results are truncated so most of the time it’s impossible to tell the difference between similar shows and clicking into the show screen, the titles are still truncated. What makes it worse is there is no relevant information in the search results. So for example if you want to search for a game that is on right now usually you get results for games that are a week or two in the future. Even worse it does not even tell you what channel number your search result is on for a given result. If the search results would display the channel number (even if that particular search result is showing a game two weeks from now) you could at least check the channel see if today’s game is on that same channel. If feels like there was absolutely zero thought put into search results and relevance.

App crashes every now and then. Finicky when you go outside the app and come back in. I usually have to go to another channel and then go back to the original channel I was watching. I wish you could have the option to have the app running in the background so it wouldn’t cut off when you get a text.

I wish the remote doesn’t disconnect when the app is closed. It forces you to wait for the app to reconnect to the Wi-Fi to be able to use the remote. Other remote apps ( Amazon fire stick Mobile application) do not have this issue. Please update!

I am not able to stream from home anymore what has happened?!?

Not able to sing into mobile app, I receive error “unknown error”, I hit Ok and takes me to download U-Verse app. I already tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. Deleted the account in TV providers under settings. Went to directv.com and entered email an password and they are correct. Also tried downloading the U-Verse app and singed in although I know it was the incorrect app, and as I expected, it did not recognized the sing-in credentials. Hopefully this gets fixed ASAP, there may be other people having the same issue.

This app is infested with bugs. Getting loads of error messages all the time, glitching when trying to connect to receiver, not finding shows that are currently on TV, not recordings teams that its programmed to record, etc..

The app is great for watching tv and movies away from home but when I had to sign in to the app the first time, it was so hard, it took like 3 days to get it to work and now it’s signed me out and I can’t get back in and it’s becoming increasingly frustrating, please let this get fixed!!
