Very well designed app with excellent features, and the complete works. Easy to navigate. First time I have read all of the Sonnets. Such a joy to read. Wonderful source of information, valuable references, a constant companion. Although I have not accessed the national venues, I am glad to know I could anytime I wanted. Well worth the money.

How do you update 400 year old content? With extra features! Additions have included line numbers, full character names, notes, vocabulary for obscure words, ability to highlight lines spoken by particular characters (great for actors) and facsimiles of first folio texts. More additions keep appearing for free!

This app was just what I needed to help me study my lines on the go. Easy to use and truly helpful.

I have come across quotes of the day attributed incorrectly to the characters cited. Worst, this reader recently discovered a quote given for an inexistent scene in ‘The Tempest.’ My advice is don’t presume the app developer has all his “act” together when it comes to quotes. One could very well be embarrassed, if the Shakespearean quote of the day given by this app is all that trustworthy.

And incredible resource. A recent complaint: Quote of the Day has really fallen off of late. Ton of predictable Hamlet and repeats. Miss the the more varied and obscure.

I have the pro version, and the app closes when I select the notes button. I’m running ios 11 and it is up-to-date. Can you please fix this? I really liked the notes.

I found myself using this frequently only minutes after downloading- smooth searches and nice features- I am teaching Macbeth for the first time and am learning the play along with my students- it is nice to have this as a resource as I feel my way through the text (and it makes me look like I know more than I do!)

Well, not my pocket - on my iPhone. This resource offers the plays, sonnets, glossary, character descriptions, customizable sections. A great resource and yes, it gives great satisfaction to carry Will around and have instant access to his writings, etc. Outstanding. Easier access to phrase translation? Just a thought.

Hold up. Carefully edited texts? Searchable by play or the entire oeuvre? A complete and searchable glossary? Notes and bookmarks and sharing? The FIRST FOLIO for reference and comparison?! For an astonishingly low sticker price?! This app is insanely good. While I love my paperbound books and painstakingly self-annotated Shakespeare texts, my collection has cost me a minor fortune and cannot be carried anywhere without a cart. Even my favorite bargain-prices Complete Works (the Yale) weighs eight pounds and has gradually torn apart its own binding to the point that "Henry V" is unwittingly splitting into two parts like its predecessor. To have one app that combines a First Folio, the power of the Schmidt Lexicons, and the Internet's trove of resources - IN THE PALM OF MY HAND!! - is astounding. And very very much appreciated. I'm sure we'll all have our quibbles about editorial choices and technical glitches (which Complete Works, in any media, doesn't?), but we should all be able to agree that a meticulously presented and accessible avenue into the world of the Bard is a boon to any and all of us with this app on our devices.

I used to love the app, but got very frustrated with the update to the point that I would rather not use it. 1. It doesn’t open where you left off. 2. Scrolling and taps aren’t smooth. 3. Not a deal breaker, but the new design is not very reader friendly. A design that does not call attention to itself and instead lets you forget about it and immerse yourself into the text would be better. Hope the app changes. It used to be one of my favorite apps.

It is the most favorite app on my iPhone, I will be pleased if our app has the modern language option. I have the SwipeSpeare app, which it has the option. Thank you so much. I love thine app. ❤️

This app is great for helping you understand the "O.P." (Original Pronunciation) of Shakespeare's work. Could use some improvements such as more refined text searches, but overall it works great. Update: kind of slow to pop up the menu when tapping the screen, but overall works great.

The new update is ugly. There was nothing wrong with it. It looks ugly and chintzy now. Stop tinkering with it.

Good collection of Shakespeare's works with helpful annotations.

This is the most valuable resource for students of today. Up to date and always changing for the better, this is a go to for all my students - a generation that lets their fingers do the walking before ever touching a physical book. It allows for spontaneous readings and explorations of ideas and actions. Can’t think of anything that would make this better.

Every couple of weeks, this app will send me a notification asking to leave them a review. Well here it is. Stop badgering people for reviews when they aren't using your app.

This is one of the best Shakespeare resources anywhere. If I'd have had this college, it would have saved me $125 dollars on a book. Can't recommend this enough.

Best money I have ever spent on an app! Easy to use and gives the user an amazing amount of access. With all 38 plays and his sonnets, all of which has access to a glossary to help translate of the words. The best part is the first folio. Having the ability to easily access it has greatly enhanced my learning and understanding of Shakespeare. I highly recommend it.

This is a complete volume of Shakespeare, everything, even the apocryphal stuff. I wish it included some notes on difficult passages, but it does have a good glossary.

This is an excellent app, but there is room for improvement: 1) regardless of the color scheme chosen, the glossary window opens up in glaring white. The contrast is harsh enough to be visually painful. Please include the glossary color in the color scheme, with a page color that blends better with the rest of the colors, so that the reading experience is not interrupted so harshly -- or, allow the user to set the colors. 2) the quotes widget needs work: it is poorly formatted, doesn't fit the quote properly, and, as others have noticed, seems to have some problem with notifications, even after they are enabled. I hope a fix is provided soon.

Best Shakespeare app available. I love the integrated glossary and it's a big bonus that it has first folio spelling available. The search section is fantastic. It would be great if you could go directly to scenes in the middle of acts (getting to act 2 scene 3 without having to scroll down through the first two scenes first). Additionally, can the charts that are available on the iPad also be in the iPhone? I want to see them but I don't have an iPad!

The heart of this app is just what everyone who reads would want: all of Shakespeare with helpful glosses that don't get in the way of the text. While one may might always ask for more features or quibble about design, this is a truly essential app for and English-Speaking user. And I can say from experience that their user support is gracious and immediate. Truly, a 5-Star app.

Updating my earlier review to moment that the app is frequently updated with enhancements big and small. These have added very useful features. The makers seem to be hard at work. -------------------------------------------------------- I love it! This is the best Shakespeare app, though "The Sonnets" app beats it for recorded readings. The team adds terrific new features at an astounding rate. The sophisticated search feature and the glossary are great features. Just having the entire corpus available in this excellent interface with so many marvelous features is a great great gift. I wish I had had this in college. User support is also extremely good. Bravo to the designers!

Great layout, tools, features. This is a wonderful app, employing a great translation that the casual reader, scholar, or working actor can use. Highly recommended!

Well-organized and feature rich collection of Shakespeare's works.

It’s nearly impossible to select text, and when you try to share it in an I-message, it insists on inserting the line numbers between each verse, in other words rather than off to the side, they interrupt the formatting and flow of the text. Not acceptable!

This is my second reading of all of Shakespeare's plays, and so much easier than my first reading in print form. Easier to maneuver around, get definitions rather than from annotations, stop and then pick up where I left off, and especially easier to schlep around! Not a small thing. If anyone seeing this is contemplating reading most or all his plays, this is the way to do it, and best with the Pro version.
