It’s a steep price for an app that doesn’t work. I use the image occlusion add on from my computer to create the flash cards. I wish I had known that every single flash card would glitch on my iPad once I tried to transfer them over. Waste of $25 honestly.
Anita Crumbs's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 9/24/18 2:54 PM
It’s super challenging to sync up established decks making this app essentially un-usable. There was no real point of my purchasing it so I’m trying to get a refund and even that seems impossible.
JVman's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 9/23/18 8:43 PM
The iOS app is cartoonishly bad and at $25 is the worst software value imaginable. Buy anything else. Where are the next and last buttons? Why is text scaling so bad? It looks like a high school software project that was never completed.

I heard about Anki and began tinkering with it before school started. Now that it’s here, this has been my lifeline. My studying is extremely efficient and I love Anki’s algorithms. One thing I wish was on either the phone or iPad app would be the browser functionality of the desktop version and ability to see my tags to better manage my decks on the go. This app is awesome for learning, especially when you have a ton of material! Best money I’ve spent on an app.
Nate the Great’s Hit Parade's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 9/22/18 4:19 PM
This app has helped me master over a 1,000 words in Ancient Greek and over 1,500 of German and counting. It’s not flashy and has a learning curve up front, but incredibly powerful. The problem with physical flashcards is they’re time consuming to make, complicated to keep track of, and cumbersome to carry. This solves all of of those. Every word I look up while reading I screenshot. Later I put all the screenshots into a specific album where a Siri Shortcut converts them to JPEG, crops them, and reduces their size. I then enter each photo into Anki, reviewing them as I go. With this process, I can make 50 flashcards in 10 minutes. Then each one is shown to you exactly when you need it, and is always in my pocket to review anywhere. There is not a word I look up that is not memorized now. In a year, I have made 3,500 flashcards in 5 different languages. I review 200 a day. If you invest some time to figure out how to use this app, it will change your intellectual life.

This app has given me my confidence back. I no longer have to worry about forgetting things that I learned throughout the day. This is not just a regular flashcard app. All of the other flashcard apps out there may have a few small functions like cloze deletions or audio support. But Anki has EVERYTHING. It has images, audio, cloze deletions, language, autosync, keyboard shortcuts (for those of us who like to use a keyboard with the iphone), LaTeX support (which is imperative for ppl studying anything mathematically related), addons that give you the ability to automatically insert language audio (AwesomeTTS), addons that let you automatically generate pinyin for Chinese characters, addons that let you modify any and every part of your anki experience.
MMBlessing's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 8/31/18 3:11 PM
First time I used Anki was the free Android app (AnkiDroid). Loved it, used it for months, successfully passed that round of board exams. Would have gladly paid for it. I switched to using an iPhone and iPad (AnkiMobile, a different app, > $20), and it’s driving me crazy. Unlike the Android version, you can’t easily review all of your cards. If only they had two study settings: “review all” for quickly going through all cards in the days leading up to a test, and “long term memory” for the algorithms they’ve determined work best for solidifying information. There are ways around it, but all are a pain and not easy to use as their support website acknowledges. Would gladly pay for the app to have both options at my fingertips. AnkiMobile is not worth the money.
connernoland's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 8/30/18 5:39 PM
I am currently using this app for school. It is a great concept and has helped me learn a lot of information quickly. However, I do have a few suggestions: 1) I would really enjoy the ability to add subjects into folders. For example, after I am tested on a set of subjects I would like to be able to place them in an “old tests” folder. That way it is off of my main screen and reduces clutter. 2) It would be nice to have the option to create collaborative decks. Sharing a deck with a friend is possible, but it does not automatically update across all devices when cards are added. Even when you synchronize the cards, it only updates to the one account, not all accounts the deck has been shared with. 3) It is not possible to reset a deck on the iPad app. You have to go into the computer app to reset a study schedule. 4) I have not been able to share just one deck at a time. When I share something, it shares all of my decks. It also replaces the collection of the person I share the decks with. Just one subject at a time would be nice. 5) it would be nice to have more themes. A black mode would be nice in order to minimize blue light exposure. For $25 it seems like there would be a little more customization available.
sghiassi's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 8/28/18 3:29 AM
App lacks the the ability to use Flashcards more traditionally. I submitted a support request to customize my features and was told, “if that’s what you want there are other apps to suit your needs...” which is true, but I paid for this one and after creating hundreds of cards, instead of explaining how to only repeat the cards I’m getting wrong, Damien is basically telling me to get lost.
Shawn21099's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 8/25/18 5:42 PM
Can’t help but give total credit to my learning in medical school to this app. Extremely helpful with its spaced repetitions and I can’t believe how well it’s timing helps me remember things LONG TERM. I would honestly pay hundreds of dollars for this considering how much it helps me and how little it actually is compared to my med school tuition.
Rockstar12137's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 8/19/18 5:47 PM
I have been using Anki’s desktop and browser version to help get me through med school. I’ve tried quizlet, study blue, and a couple other less known flashcard apps that just didn’t have the flexibility that Anki has. Anki may be simple looking in its aesthetics, but it’s a lot more powerful than the competition. You can add virtually anything (audio, media, text, etc) to a flash card, can study at your own pace, and review your progress. With its spaced repetition programming, it has everything you need and more in a flash card application. So why the three stars? Two reasons: the price and the inability to choose which decks to download. 1. The Web and desktop versions are free. Although I have no qualms in supporting the developers by buying this app, the price is a little steep for an otherwise free product. 2. On Anki you make a profile, and all of your decks, progress, etc are synced to that profile. When you download the app, not only do you sync to your profile, but every card of every deck that is linked to your profile is then downloaded onto your phone. You can’t choose which decks you want to download, so you’re stuck with three choices, none of which are optimal. Either you delete decks as to not overwhelm the hard drive on your phone, create a new account and go through the process of exporting data daily from one account to another just to keep up with the progress you’ve made on a deck, or be consigned to the fact that you’re just going to have to make room for the multiple gigabytes of data that come along with having an Anki account. As a whole, I give Anki 5 stars, but this app falls short of the type of flexibility I’ve come to expect from the developers of Anki.

This is the best app I’ve ever purchased and worth every penny. It’s made studying exponentially easier because I can review my flash cards anywhere: while sitting at my desk, riding the subway, sitting on the couch, etc. It works exactly as it is supposed to and I have never experienced a technical issue.
Leothelion12438562's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 8/18/18 3:04 AM
Good app. Noted that there is difference on app vs desktop application where if I do a new card on phone and choose 3 day correct it has my go over it again the next day with timer of 2/3/4 days. This is not case on desktop app. Was this already corrected?

I have a 2017 iPad Pro, and by far this is the best app investment I’ve made as of yet. I always use notability in split screen mode with anki and there were no problems when reviewing flash cards. However, today when I went to review my cards it isn’t a simple tap on the anki app to show the answer. Now I have to tap multiple times, sometimes 4 or 5 times, to get to the answer and move on to the next card. I used to be able to use the Apple Pencil, tap once, and move on. It seems to be slightly better with finger touch(but still takes about 4 times of continuous tapping). Also if I change the orientation of the screen it seems to be slightly more responsive but not a complete fix. I shutdown my iPad, closed the apps, put anki separate from notability, but still experience problems. Some help on that would be nice. Otherwise, excellent app!

Support Representative, Before I bought this app I emailed your support email and I asked if the mobile app supported TTS(text to speech). You told me yes. I just bought the app 10 minutes and the app does not support TTS. I'm not talking about audio or media files, I'm talking specifically about TTS. Since you are a programmer that designed the app you know the difference, and you still told me "yes the mobile app supports text to speech" I saved a copy of the email. Please refund the $25 to my account and take the app back. It's useless to me without TTS. I only bought it for TTS. Please refund my account and take this app back. Thank you.

This app is an absolute lifesaver. In a pair of summer aquatic biology classes, I had to memorize more than 400 pieces of information about various aquatic organisms, including insanely complicated scientific names. I was able to use Anki to memorize everything I needed to know. Every student ought to have this app. I’m definitely using it during the school year next year.
mr geeky gadget's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 7/5/18 7:50 AM
I absolutely hated this app. I couldn’t import decks that I’d paid for (specifically designed from/for this app), couldn’t put pictures on the cards, couldn’t create cards on the mobile version of the cite, once cards were created I couldn’t put them in the deck I wanted, and had to use the website on a computer- it can’t be done on a mobile device. I spent 2 hours (time I’m not getting back) trying to get the app to work, and not studying, like I wanted to. I’m using a more user-friendly app now. I generated 71 cards on a different cite in less time than I spent fighting with this app.

In college I used to use a flash card program called BYKI to study & I thought it was perfect, but that program is gone & the company has moved on. Since then I’ve been on the search for a program that had as good (effective) an algorithm. I’ve tried almost every app on iTunes & been disappointed. At first I was disappointed in this one too, because the UI is clunky & convoluted. But I’m glad I stuck with it bc now I’m convinced I’ve found something not just as good as BYKI but even better.

Its been going well so far. Use it for MCAT. I just had a question. If i have 20 cards and i choose to see the first card after 4 days again, does that mean i will see that individual card again in 4 days or just at the end of my 20 card deck? Is 1 min, 10 min, and 4 days just relative depending on how fast you tap thru or is it actually real time?

Update: Thank you so much Anki for fixing my problem!!! It works perfectly now and I have made faster progress than I ever thought possible in language learning. Keep up the good work!! Original: This app is great except... that my images keep disappearing!! It is soooo annoying to make hundreds of flash cards and then to have 10% of them just randomly lose their images. I am trying to learning a new language and it is so annoying to have a little empty box appear instead of my image. And the worst part is cards that used to work broke the last time I synchronized to get new cards I made. This app would be amazing but it is so frustrating to lose so many cards and to have to leave the app to go look up what words meant. Considering how much this app costs it is really disappointing. Please fix!! Would be five stars otherwise.

I know this app is research-based and very intelligent; using a scientific approach to memorization. I knew this before purchasing the app. But I was very disappointed to find that you can’t simply turn off all the controls. I want to simply make cards and review cards without the interference of the algorithms which for me are irritating and unhelpful. Anki, am I missing something? I don’t want a one time cram session solution. I want to turn off of controls and simply make decks and review them. No limits. No algorithms. Just let me scroll through my cards randomly. I used a more simple free app before this one. It worked great for a couple months. I LOVED it and learned super well! It got buggy after a little while though and I purchased this app thinking if I paid money I would deal with less bugs. Please help!

I did not have an opportunity to put the application through its paces, please read other reviews for application functionality. I needed to synch between PC and iPad and to do this the application directs you to a website. Signing up is free, quick, and easy HOWEVER the terms a user must agree to clearly states that all content created using this application must be the user's original works. This means that if I take a picture of a diagram in a McGraw Hill book (their intellectual property "IP") and synch my iPad with my PC I have violated the terms of service. I'm not sure how Anki enforces this policy but I would imagine that their legal department stuck this clause into the terms to limit their liability. Because the decks which are synchronized to the cloud are available to anyone, I would imagine publishers whose IP has been copied, attached to flash cards, and shared on the web via this medium would come knocking wanting royalties. Understand that in this scenario you, the end user, are on the hook (however small or large that hook may be) for any damages as a result of breaching the terms of service for this application and violating copyrights. I do not intend to profit from my flashcards and just want a reference tool that can synchronize between PC and iPad. If I would have known that all contents of the flashcards must be my original works in order to synch between devices I would not have downloaded the app.

This app is great if you are working from your desktop/MacBook. However, the iPhone and iPad version needs support. They are excellent for reviewing the cards but not for making them. Image occlusion, single cloze deletion are just some of the examples that can’t be worked through iPad/iPhone.
Newtonduce's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 6/7/18 5:57 PM
I use this app every day, multiple times a day; it is easily my most used app. However, the Steps for New Cards appears to no longer allow for more than two steps (Ex: 1, 10 min) which is quite disappointing. When multiple steps are entered (ex 1, 10, 120, etc...) the app appears to only look at two of the listed steps arbitrarily (ex 1 & 120). Please bring back the previous functionality, as the ability to have multiple steps before graduating a new card greatly helps when learning difficult cards, while keeping the easy cards moving forward. Thanks!

This is hands-down the best flash card app if you want to remember things. You can create your own items and customize the review intervals for each of them. You’re also able to download shared decks, but the memory benefits will be much greater if you create your own decks of cards.

There are no instructions. There's only a few things you can click on, none of which are a log in. Trying to get my deck from my pc to my iPad has proven to be an impossible waste of valuable time. I assume the only way this app could possibly be useful is if you already know everything about anki and how to get around it's difficult to use interface. I want my money back. This app is useless.

Their mandatory review limits are trash. Supposedly you can set the review limit to 9999 on the interface/ setting screen..... which doesn't even exist on this version of the app. yes, you can temp override the limits, but the overrides are weak, too. if you want to goof around like a little child or if you have time+++ to spend SLOWLY reviewing your decks, then enjoy this manipulative babysitter app.

EDIT: Oops I'm just an idiot. There's a setting that was causing my issue. See the developer's response! I love Anki and the app is great for everything EXCEPT for the fact that it lowers the volume on any music I have playing from my phone. This is really infuriating cause when I'm studying in public I can't drown out the sounds around me. Well...why don't I just turn the volume up then you ask? If I exit the app or sleep my phone I get a very loud and large blast of music in my ear. It's just super inconvenient and I'm surprised that no one else has brought this issue up. I'll change my review to a 5 star review if this gets fixed TT

Most effective way to study. Was hard to reason spending 25$ on an iphone app but it’s so worth it. Plus, it’s money spent on improving your grade and your education, not a video game or new shoes or some other materialistic thing. I make my flashcards on my computer, there’s an free addon called Image Occlusion which i highly recommend if you’re studying anatomy so you can block the labels the organs and then reveal them for the answer. Also works good for flowcharts. Went from being a C- student to a B+ student just with bare minimum time using this app. Thanks Anki!

Just based on the function (and perhaps it’s just me), this app has not been doing it’s job properly. (1) I’ve consistently seen cards the next day when i’ve touched the button for 2+ days. (2) Even if I touch the button for 1+ days (let’s say it was “good” for 5 days), I see the same card again a few minutes. They’re just inconveniences, but enough that I only use the app if I don’t have many cards due because I don’t want to waste time going through twice the number of cards because they keep reappearing. Hopefully this gets fixed or my issue gets cleared up so I can continue using the app! :)

Wasn't too sure at first about purchasing, but the app is definitely worth it as it increases time you can spend studying. I did wish it had more editing options but otherwise it's great. Edit: after using this app for a few months (and after using the desktop version almost every day for the past 4 months months) I definitely would still rate this app a 5/5 (or even a 6/5 if I could). Anki is an insanely useful study tool and I can’t recommend it enough, for whatever it is that you want to study. The UI could be a little prettier, but it grows on you eventually. Definitely get this app if you spend parts of your day idling (on a bus, in a subway, away from your computer, etc.) because it will improve your efficiency. If you’re on the fence, know that people don’t rave about anki without reason.

First of all I never understood why this app for IOS users has to be paid. Suggestion: it would be nice if we could choose how many cards we wanna see per section, because in my case I like to study 3 times per day, but the app doesn’t allow that and yes I get to choose only the amount of cards “in general” per day. Create sections for us and I will be more than happy. The rest works fine, the best app for flashcards ever.

One of my most used apps, it’s almost perfect. Only gripe is: while you can mute sound from the app by putting your device on mute, this does not work when you have headphones. Anki is well made. The program runs smoothly if you DON’T use any other apps in conjunction. As soon as you run it in split mode with other app (like notability), it is quite buggy. It won’t type at times, cursor would be missing, bold and italicize unintentionally pressed and so forth. I don’t regret paying for it, but the bug issue in split screen mode is definitely something you should be aware of. *EDIT: I have no idea how to suggest improvements on the website, but here’s what I found out. When trying to add a new card in a deck, if I hit left or right arrow on the keyboard when nothing is typed yet, Bold gets activated and the cursor disappears. Hope it gets fixed.. it is quite annoying

Bananamananas's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 12/23/18 12:49 PM
I've never written an app review before, but this app has changed my life so much that I feel compelled to write one. I'm a medical student studying for board exams, and Anki has completely changed the way I approach rote memorization of facts. It can be used to memorize anything by repeating flash cards At THE RIGHT TIME so that it doesn't fade from your memory. Apart from the automatic delivery, the other advantage over physical flash cards is that the app supports not only text, but also audio (if you want to remember the pronunciation of a drug or microorganism or anything else), photos (especially helpful for anatomy or other flowcharts and tables), and videos within the flash card. To get started, I'd suggest using the desktop app first since it's always easier to navigate in a bigger screen. It takes some time to learn how to navigate the app and to learn all the different settings and features, but once you do it's brilliant. The iOS app is ALMOST just as powerful as the desktop app. However, as of December 2018, the iOS app doesn't have the ability to flag or view flagged flash cards (available on the 2.1 release of the desktop app and incredibly useful to help find and organize cards as you review them). That's a minor complaint though and I hope it gets written into the mobile app as well. Overall though, this is definitely the best way to memorize information in the 21st century. Two thumbs up!

Walkersrq's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 12/22/18 12:47 PM
Regardless of some of the app's strengths, the fact that you have to do most functions on the desktop and sync to mobile is ridiculous in this day and age. Mobile computing has been the norm for years now. I am deleting the app.

It has helped me push through MCAT. Now, I'm using it in medical school. Yes, you can use it on the browser, but the app experience is so much better.

My decks are pretty much all image occlusion cards. Downloaded the app today to have them on the go, only to find that none of the images actually show up!

The computer version is excellent and it is super helpful. Decided to download the app. It said that all my cards including cloze would work. This is not the case all but the cloze deletions work. I may change my review if this gets fixed but as of now I'm disappointed I spent $25 and can't use 95% of my cards. Update*** 8/24/17 Due to a coding error cards were not reading right. The anki team helped me fix it and the app is working perfectly. All my cards, pics, and voice recording work great. I highly recommend this app.

I wanted to drop a quick review. I've tried using the website to review cards for about a month but the experience just wasn't as good as on computer. I wanted a near computer like experience and this app does just that. I hesitated at the cost despite knowing the value that I would get out of it, but no regrets here. I can create custom study decks in app and change the specific filter (i.e. Review cards that I've rated as good within last Y days). I generally don't try to create cards within the app, since creating content is harder in general with iPhones and iPads. Complaints against the app because of the inherent disadvantage of using iPhones and iPads to create content is unfair. I've also switched between personal phone and work phone without any issues. I do try to synchronize as often as I can and the app signals to you when the latest changes haven't been synced yet. Great job on the app and it looks like support for it continues to happen regularly.

Pretty much the perfect spaced repetition flashcard app. Be sure to download the desktop version (free) to manage the cards. Developer support for the app is fast and excellent.

This is a great companion to Anki for desktop. It automatically synched all of my decks including the audio files and it even has a scratch pad that is great for practicing writing the answer if you are studying Chinese Mandarin or Japanese for example. I have been with Anki for desktop for a couple of years and I am very pleased with this app. Tiny suggestion though, it would be nice if it synched automatically when you stopped reviewing a deck.

This app made studying much more efficient so that with minimal time for review I was acing all my exams. It helped me get into PA school. Although there is a learning curve to figure out how to make various types of cards, it blows paper flash cards out of the water. You can now have a deck of thousands of cards on you phone rather than hacking down a forest. For serious learners, get this app.

I love anki and I use it all the time on my desktop. A lot of anki’s weaknesses have been covered by the add ons you could download. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case with this version of the app. In particular, I wish I could change the color without diving into the code. Also, I would love it if there was a “left shift” option as opposed to having the default centered text.

Since using this app for three years now, I have not gotten less than a 3.85 GPA each semester in my university classes for my science degree. This is up from around the 3.30 term GPA's that I had received before using the program. I'm putting in the same amount of study hours as I did before using it, except now I'm working much more efficiently, so I'd definitely recommend the app!

I love this so much. I wanna suggest if it’s possible ... if say you made 4 pile of decks and you don’t know which deck you should get started reviewing on that day, Anki can somehow tells you which Pile of decks you are weak on and which pile of decks you are strong Or fairly ok on... so I can choose which decks to put my priorities & focus on over others.. Thanks

Please update the notepad. It lags, there’s no eraser, and the pen size cant be changed. I’m using it on my iPad Pro 10.5 but it feels like I’m using an early 2000’s device. Please consider Notability or OneNotes’ template. Thank you in advance

Complete ****ing ripoff for a service that’s free everywhere else but iOS. There are free apps that work the same but if you already have 2000 cards like I do your going to have to buy this anyway or switch to android.

Was trying to use this app for my Zanki deck so I can review on the go but I kept getting error message "card is blank" while the same deck works perfectly on my MacBook. Disappointed with my purchase, since I only bought this to use for Step 1
Shortstuffx31's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 11/26/18 12:38 PM
It’s really fast and easy to make the flash cards but they don’t give you an option to review them the order you made them. That really bothers me. Why does it only review randomly?! It’s such a simple feature. Wish I had known that before I bought it. Probably won’t use again after this exam. I’ll try another app.

theo2g's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 11/26/18 12:38 PM
This app is invaluable to any self-learner, particularly for language learning. Have been able to master over 1000 Kanji, something I would have thought impossible just 6 months ago. My one gripe with the app is the outdated UI and App Icon. The Icon sticks out like a sore thumb among the rest of my apps (simple star on white background would look much better) and the UI is stuck in 2009. If a sleeker more modern update was released I would gladly, even eagerly, give 5 stars. Regardless, these aesthetic complaints are by no means a dealbreaker. Still the best $25 I’ve spent in a long long time. If you are on the fence about dropping so much on an app, I highly encourage you to take the plunge. Anki is the best way to learn via flash cards and SRS (spaced repitition system) around. There is a reason that everyone speaks so highly of Anki around the internet, and $25 isn’t much in the grand scheme of things. Support an app that has helped many people learn many things!

I use Anki to study Japanese, and there is ample reason for its popularity amongst Japanese learners. Unless I missed an update note, though, we still cannot generate Japanese readings from the mobile app. This makes card creation very slow and difficult because I need to get to computer to make or update a card. Really not convenient. This should be a priority fix. Also, it is time to enable card layout options and the ability to reset entire decks back to new. It is becoming anachronistic to require a computer for anything at all.
A.Hossain's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 11/2/17 4:29 AM
You guys should redesign the app icon! It looks very outdated and old. Something sleek and modern looking would be awesome to implement. Think about it!
J Kangaroo's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 11/16/18 2:05 PM
I love this app and use it all the time for studying. However, it doesn’t sync well between devices. If I study everything on my iPhone for example and have it synced to the app on my iPad, the iPad will still say I have to study everything even after I press the synchronize button. This needs fixing. The issue has only been from the iPhone to other devices. When I study the cards on my computer and iPad everting syncs fine.

This app is useful for reviewing cards on the go. The one thing that is limiting me from creating cards using the app for iOS is that there is no way to indent text when making a card. Please add this feature

I was skeptical about paying for the Anki flash card mobile app, but wow these flashcards are really amazing. I started using them to learn languages and downloaded a sample deck from the Fluent Forever website. Using that template, it has been so easy to create cards with images and sounds to supercharge my language learning. And having the flashcard app on my phone makes it easy to study anywhere. Thanks Anki team!!

I recently found a font I want to use in the app but cannot use it immediately in the app. In order to use it you have to use the desktop application and do a bunch of technical stuff ( I've never done it before and know notions about code) I wanted to buy anyfont and use that but, pretty sure it won't work. I wish I could use anyfont because it's the fastest way to go and won't take a long time to do

The mobile versions of Anki are lacking in their potential functionality. My desktop version has multiple add-one which greatly improve studying. However, when I switch to mobile I am living in a significantly neutered experience which is not worth the app price unfortunately.
ArArAr94's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 10/4/18 4:13 PM
I paid too much for this app, to not to be able to organize cards into folders. Even quizlet can do that in the free version. The app version is severely limited in features that the computer/laptop version has for FREE. So why did I even pay for this useless app?
SCASM's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 10/31/18 10:02 PM
Please make a theme that can be used for those of us with iPhone X's to make it easier on our eyes when we study in bed at night. The more light you can remove from the screen, the better! Maybe even make it so the text becomes more gray colored rather than white. That will make this app perfect!!! Edit: I didn't know about the toggle night mode option, I only knew about the theme change to black. So this app is perfect then!

I've been using this app to study the 2,300 Japanese kanji that is in a book I have and I'm loving it so far! The fact that I can take pictures of the symbols in the book helps tremendously also! Halfway as I began using it, I began fiddling with the online decks that people made and some are amazing with actual speech integrated into the cards as well as pictures. Then I opened my mind even further and realized I can use this for many other subjects that I want to improve on! Overall an invaluable tool for people wanted long term memorization of certain information!!

I’ve been using this app for study Japanese and it works like a charm. It works great and is worth the money. Better than writing out flash cards. One feature that would make it tons better would be to have the option of flipping the front and back of the card so you can learn it the other way around.

This is probably the app I’ve used the most over the last year, (save for maybe Safari). It’s pretty much a clone of the desktop version functionality-wise, but it has the added convenience of being able to use it on your iPhone or iPad (or both in my case). A feature that I didn’t find on the iOS version is the ability to mass-reschedule cards, but I do that so infrequently it’s not even an issue. There are a couple other minor features missing in the app that are present in the latest Anki desktop release, but all of the core, important features and functionalities are in it, which is what matters. Definitely the best flash card app, and definitely worth the money.
kunoichi_chicky's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 10/14/18 7:44 PM
Anki has been tremendous & game-changing for me. It’s completely open source, and the relatively high price tag (compared to other apps) on the mobile app supports the development team. The desktop version is free. Incredibly powerful, great development community, a ton of add-ons available, huge amount of flexibility, and - most importantly - massive pre-made decks. “Zanki” is a med school deck that’s almost comprehensive for step 1. How much did u pay for boards and beyond? Sketchy? Pathoma? Not that you shouldn’t use them in conjunction, but Zanki (and other supplemental decks) has entered the canon and it’s 100% /free./ Amazing. Support open-source development, get this app.

I searched for years for a good flashcard app for my smartphone, but everything I found was limited and made me compromise on what I was learning. Not Anki. The immense flexibility of this app means I can learn whatever I want, however I want to. Using Anki has been crucial in my ability to learn Spanish, help remember important facts at my new job, prepare for tests, and get a solid grasp of country locations and capitals around the world. Pre-existing decks you can download from other users mean that you can build off one another’s knowledge. But you can also design your own, and include sounds, video, images, text, mathematical symbols, whatever you need. The smart spaced repetition methodology the program uses means you won’t waste time going over cards you already know well, but will efficiently stay focused on new cards and cards you are learning. This is the best money I have ever spent on an App, and I use it every day.
petahwei's Review of Ankimobile FlashcardsReviewed on 1/15/18 4:40 AM
I'm a student in medical school and have been relying heavily on Anki to learn and review for board exams. Although the app is expensive, it runs almost perfectly on iPhone, and has allowed me to review notecards whenever I have a few empty minutes in my day--such as waiting in line at the grocery store, riding the bus etc. So far the only thing I can't do well is anything related to the deck browser such as suspending multiple cards, but overall this app has greatly exceeded my expectations.

Please include more features on the mobile app. I would like to have the same options available on the app that I have on the desktop version.
