I’m still fairly new to regex and this has helped me a lot. My learning progress has increased significantly since I started using this.

RegExRx is awesome! I program all day, every day and not having to guess at regular expressions is one less thing to worry about...

Excellent tool

Very simple, easy to use, makes improving regex skills a natural part of the process. I have a few of these regex helper apps, this one is definitely my favorite.

Huge time saver

I tried online tools, i downloaded and tried a couple of competitors from the app store but this is the tool I use to help me develop, refine and debug RegEx's. It is focused on helping you get the job done without trying to be cute or flashy. Features I like : • accuracy, if it works in RegEx it has always worked the same way in my Perl script • color coding in the match expression it makes it more readable. • ability to paste in large ammonts of source text. • ability to save out the pattern & source text you are working on so you can return to them later. • colour coded match list which shows what will end up in your $1. $2 etc capture groups. • click on match takes you to the match in the source text • clean drop down for syntax hints What doesn't it do It doesn't show invisible characters in the source text - at least if it does I haven't been able to work out how.

Works well. Never fails. I’m happy :-) . I use it to build expressions and test them. The expression builder contains all the base elements I’ve ever needed. Have been able to test on _any_ text I’ve thrown at it. More than a life-saver — a walkway that floats on top of the often turbulent and eddy-filled waters of RegEx. My thanks to the developer.

Excellent

Accurate, flexible and easy to use. The visual resultsb clues are very helpful and make debugging or creating an expression easier.

I use RegExRx every time I need to build and test ANY regular expression. It allows me to develop complex search/replace functions by easily allowing me to build/test patterns. Every developer and Linux administrators should have this!

Better than online. You can easily save your expressions as files right next to your projects. Fast. Supports a TON of formats. A great value!!

Pretty Good

Very useful for long, complex regex at 3:00 am when the coffee has run out. It’d be great if “Copy Pattern” supported sed substitution and other commands requiring outlandish escapage of parens and whatnot.

Tried all of them — this one’s the best

Very pleased with this app — extremely handy for testing regexes against test data before deploying them in code. Would like to see it add more of the functionality from RegexBuddy (the amazing Windows regex tester) though.
