FlashFTP gets the files uploaded every time. An option to connect automatically when it first starts would be convenient.

Great App for My Simple Needs

I have a host gator site and needed to upload files to it in an easy way. I wanted to be able to drag and drop files in. I also wanted it to remember the info so I wouldn’t have to jump through hoops each time I used the softwre. This fits those requirements.

Remote file name display is broken

I had the same issues as Raul. Remote filenames are not displayed correctly and size is listed as 0B. As these were files I was uploading for a client I had to use another app to make sure the transfer was good. If you can fix this bug I would also rate it 5 stars. I like the suggestion of displaying the progress meter for transfers in the main window. The little hourglass icon is not intuitive. Keep up the good work!

Does the job

The app is very basic and simple, but uploads and downloads files, which is its only mission. There’s no help or documentation, so if you’re not familiar with how such an application works, someone will have to walk you through it and help you the first time. Also, it gets stuck if you try to delete a batch of files from the server at once. If you go one-by-one, it always works. Can’t recommend this if you’re working with large websites, but fine for fairly simple ones.

Not as good as Cyberduck

Kinda worthless because you can’t tell how long a file transfer is going to take, and you also can’t create new folders without an error popping up.

The app is easy to use (intuitive if you've ever used these programs before) and performs well.

I coun’t figure out how to use it. There are no instructions. The help site takes you to some other product. I bought it and deleted it.

I’m a creative, spiritual person and so I need things to be easy, straight-forward and intuitive when it comes to using software, tech, etc. I was able to drag/drop the file and upload it to my sales server without any problems. Very happy with it so far! It helped to read through top reviews to get the step by step instructions. I recommend it for people who, like me, need intuitive tech.

How to use Flash FTP

It is pretty intuitive once you get started. The left side of the page is the source of the files on your local computer. On the right hand side is the location you are wanting to upload to (you see that after you log in). To log in you click on the little icon at the top of the page that looks like two desktop computers one behind the other. If you need to go to a particular folder the pull down “more options” and give it the name of your folder in answer to “remote path:” Once you see on the right hand side of the page the place where you want to put your new (or updated file) then locate the file you wish to upload on the left side of the page and click on it to highlight it. Then pull down the “file” menu and choose “upload”. You don’t drag and drop like the advertisement says.
